Magellan's Marker

Mentioned on
Monument
Sights & Landmarks
The Magellan's Marker is a monument located in a park that pays homage to Lapu-Lapu, the warrior who defeated Magellan. The area surrounding the monument is bustling with markets and dining options, and it offers great opportunities for picture taking. Souvenir stores are also available within the vicinity. However, visitors should come prepared as the heat can be intense; bringing cover-ups such as umbrellas or portable electric fans, as well as thirst quenchers is advisable.
Clean, Nice, and very good for picture taking. There are also some stores that sell different souviners. But it is so hot. I recommend everyone who would like to visit to bring umbrella or anything that can cover them from the intense heat of the sun. You can also bring portable electric fan. And lastly, don't forget to bring thirst quenchers.

I can now say I stood at the spot their hero Magellan was killed by the other hero Lapu-Lapu. Magellan was forcing oppression and is now revered for forcing Christianity. Also there is some doll involved in all this. The doll makes for hella street festivals.

This is a nice plaza. There was a volunteer that came up to us and talked to us about the history of the site. He even opened the side gate so we could go to the shops at the side to buy pasalubong.

Mactan Shrine, also known as Liberty Shrine, is a memorial park on the island of Mactan in Lapu-Lapu City, Cebu, Philippines. It hosted Lapu Lapu Monument, a bronze statue which commemorates Lapu Lapu, a native leader who defeated Spanish soldiers led by Magellan in the 1521 Battle of Mactan.
Gary Huerto — Google review
The Magellan Marker in Mactan, located in the Philippines, is a significant historical site that commemorates the landing of Portuguese explorer Ferdinand Magellan in 1521. This marker is not only a tribute to a crucial moment in the history of global exploration but also a symbol of the complex cultural interactions between the Philippines and Europe. Visiting the Magellan Marker is like stepping into a page of history. The site is well-maintained and offers a serene environment for reflection. The marker itself, a large obelisk, is a striking structure, surrounded by well-manicured gardens that add to the solemnity of the place. Informational plaques provide valuable context, making the visit educational as well as commemorative. However, the site's significance goes beyond Magellan's landing. It's also near the location of the Battle of Mactan, where local chieftain Lapu-Lapu famously resisted Spanish colonization. This juxtaposition of themes—exploration and resistance—makes the Magellan Marker a thought-provoking destination. For history enthusiasts and casual tourists alike, the Magellan Marker in Mactan offers a poignant reminder of the Philippines' rich and diverse history. It's a place where one can ponder the far-reaching impacts of historical events and the enduring spirit of resilience and independence evident in Filipino history.

Really remarkable how this place was the starting point of spanish colonization here in the philippines and how the local warlords like Lapu-lapu was able to defend this place.

Well-maintained park where you can visit in Mactan when you explore Cebu. It is just few minutes away from Mactan airport. So, if you have time before catching your flight, please do visit this monument.

Just a memorium to Lapu lapu.He freed the filipino from the spanish in the battle of Mactan in 1521 n he is the one who killed Magellan n delayed colonisation of philippines until Legazspi did it 20 years later.

Not your usual native chocolate shop. The decor inside and outside made me feel like it was Hispanic times. Unique in so many ways.

The place lacks greenery. It's now concrete all around the shrine that makes it even much hotter. I prefer the area before with flowers and trees.
Jezreel Gatard — Google review
It is pretty sad that such an important historical site is not taken cared off better. There are no signs of any Government personnel on site to take care of it and guide the visitors. There should be a National Park Service ķind of Agency to protect, preserve, and promote a site like this. We are talking about the "discovery" of the islands by the Spanish and the site where the first Filipino hero stood his ground against foreign occupation. There are not enough story boards on site to explain to the tourists the significance of the place. It's surrounded by what appears to be a public market, dilapidated housing neighborhood, and street vendors the freely enter the area and sell. As a tourist, it's difficult to try to be impressed by the place. It's ordinary because the government nor it's people doesn't have the motivation nor inspiration to elevate its importance.

San Vicente Marine Sanctuary is a remarkable destination with stunning views of an iconic bridge that provides ample opportunities for photography enthusiasts. The sanctuary boasts a wide variety of marine life, including numerous fish which are best observed while snorkeling. Additionally, visitors can enjoy the sight of birds from a picturesque viewpoint and purchase souvenirs from the on-site trinket store. The floating cottages provide a unique and enjoyable experience, complete with live music performances by band members who encourage sing-alongs.
Very nice place but the boardwalk needs renovation. You can swim, bike around, and do some snorkeling-so nice to see healthy corals, school of fishes, and giant c lams.
Alexander Pinote — Google review
Unexpected outing with colleagues. Its so much fun. We enjoyed the beach especially the fishes around. The cottage are also floating, they have a band which make more nice. Anyone can sing together with the band members. They also have little store there. But I enjoyed more with sea urchin so fresh. Love it.

The place is now familiar including the people. Catered food was phenomenal Filipino menu. But has to be ordered in advance. Activities that you could do are: Eating, snorkelling, boating/kayaking, and so near the bird sanctuary.
rosebelle65 — Google review
The mostly bamboo bridge in is a little sketchy, if you’re not physically capable it might be frightening. The water at the reef is pretty shallow but bursting with a cool variety of fish. The people working at the pier were a little pushy with souvenirs but eventually took the hint. Had some delicious fresh sashimi and a beer for 200pesos

A perfect getaway place if you don't feel spending a lot of money and time, and you wanted to be far away from the city. It's extremely affordable, and you will be able to experience to swim with tropical fishes

Both lovers of nature and those looking for adventure will find San Vicente Marine Sanctuary in Olanggo, Cebu, to be a breathtaking and inspiring site. The sanctuary, one of the most popular tourist destinations in the area, is home to a diverse range of marine life, including vibrant corals, rare fish, and other sea critters. Visitors have the chance to get up up and personal with the ocean's beauty and its residents at the sanctuary. Visitors can hire equipment and take part in guided tours to learn about the underwater environment while snorkeling and scuba diving, which are also popular sports.

I started at a hotel on Mactan Island and asking how to get here was not resulting in much info. So I took on the adventure. Packed my snorkel gear, grabbed a taxi to the harbor, hopped on a ferry to Olango Island for 40PHP. Had some delicious coconut juice for 25 PHP on the way and arrived where many trikes were waiting. for a not so cheap price, I was dropped at the Sanctuary. I then walked and walked after paying the 180 PHP for entrance along a very rickety walkway to a platform...with tables and such. Offered a boat to go out since its better at high tide and being low tide, i was far from "swimming" anywhere. 500 PHP for an hour and taken out to where i could snorkel at the edge between shallow and deep. Caught a glance at some beautiful colored fish...but pretty basic ocean floor. Had a great time and came back into have a coconut and regroup to walk back. Bring small change. showers are hand scooped but nice to get the salt water off back at the entrance station. Headed back to the trike to the harbor to a taxi and back to the hotel...I was gone about 5 hours and in the ocean for about 2. Bring small money. Go at high tide. island hopping also available. Birds at high tide also!

This place is unique, and gorgeous! The iconic bridge is a great place to test your wide angle lens :D There's lots of little fish around, and taking a snorkel is highly recommended here, you'll see loads of fish around. A nearby sanctuary has a nice viewpoint for birds, a lovely stone bridge and some very helpful staff. There are coconuts for a drink and some trinkets on sale. Overall, a nice getaway, highly recommended.

Went here July few months after the typhoon Odette. The bridge going to the cottages were still damage and cottages are totally ruined but still accessible by boat.

😊nice 2 ladies😊 Annoying steps when you are in the middle of the bridge you'll need to keep your body in balance every single step... and so far lot of people, plenty of drinks, drunkards celebrating holiday seasons. Before, this place it looks like wilderness, a lot of changes so far

The island is small but it has beautiful sand bar, crystal clear water that is shallow near the sand bar good for dipping and swimming even for kids. The place is too cool.
Cezs Boquecosa-Barcoma — Google review
Most tourists go here for lunch. P500 bucks for a meal with grilled fresh seafood and fruits. Not bad at all! Plus it helps the locals living in this beautiful island. Don’t forget to buy some souvenirs as well. ^_^
Doyzkie Buenaviaje — Google review
NEVER AGAIN! This is not a fishing village but a tourist trap. Now seafood have to be imported from neighboring islands to cater the influx of Korean and Chinese tourists, it has completely destroyed the dynamic of these islands. There is no place to sit, and the locals can be seen fanning the tourist while they eat! $6 for one shrimp $10 for one small crab $25 for one fish $14 for a chicken dish each person $5 entrance fee. (200 pesos February 2019) No sides. No service. Not tasty, served on a paper plate. Rice will cost extra. Everything is so overpriced, and they are not even negotiating. Prices above are in US dollar, it’s so ridiculous the entire community is now engaged in tourism only. Never again.

Pros: 1. Vibrant - always packed with people (at least in the summer) 2. Great souvenir store/shop 3. Less than 30 mins from Mactan Cons: 1. Facilities aren't up to standards 2. Docking area is crowded esp. in summer

The Island Central Mactan is a cheerful shopping center that offers a practical mix of stores, including a supermarket and fast-food chains. The area has a positive ambiance with an excellent view of airplanes about to land at the nearby airport. Visitors can enjoy an eat-all-you-can option or check out newly opened establishments such as DIY, Skin Clinic, Travel and Tours, Milk Tea Shop, Pet Shop, and E-games. The mall also features clean comfort rooms for convenience.
Its a small mall compared to Sm & Robinsons but it has Jollibee, McDo, Gerry's Grill, Kuya J. LTO, NBI, Shops, LBC, National Bookstore, Security Bank and Pawnshop. DIY and massage center, playland for kids & ticketing office. Globe & Watsons

Marissa ?Irish? Omboy — Google review
Island Central Mactan was our last stop for souvenir shopping, and it didn't disappoint. Robinson's supermarket offered a range of delicious Philippine delicacies. The mall also featured fast-food chains like McDonald's and Jollibee, perfect for a quick bite. What surprised us was finding a Goldilocks shop, where we stocked up on polvorons. However, they had just 12 packets, so we bought them all. Unfortunately, we couldn't find polvorons in any other shops in the mall, so we ended up paying inflated prices at the airport. On a positive note, the pickup coffee truck outside served great coffee. Overall, it's a good mall for quick shopping and a coffee fix.

This is a modern style mall. Lots of open spaces for a nice view of all the shops inside the mall. It has all the basic shops common to malls. Restaurants, hardware store, supermarket, etc. The mall looks small when viewed from the outside. But when you go inside, it is very spacious. This is because of a larger area behind the facade. The location is an advantage for people going to and coming from the airport.

Place is not so big but it has a supermarket, hair and nail salons, fast food (Jollibee), restaurants/ cafes and hardware. Serves its purpose when you don't want to go to crowded malls.

Average Mall. Though the food court is no longer there (I guess from typhoon odette or The pandemic) And the Mr diy was Great!

I always visit this mall to buy stuffs and to hang outs. Well for me, this is a typical mall you can find fast foods and stores inside this mall it's a common setup don't expect too much if you're planning to visit this mall. This mall needs a slight upgrade on their facilities and they need to fix their AC systems. Note, they have NBI & LTO satellite offices inside this mall.
Apol Garcera — Google review
It has an ok number of stores. Particularly liked the Seafood Island restaurant but not sure if it’s still there. Anyway, there’s a grocery shop inside and a McDonald’s, so it’s enough. Not to mention a National Book Store, so if you have something to find, this is the space. It’s starting to show its age, but it’s ok. The establishment still looks alright.

I don't know where to start. I went here to get a driver's license physical on April 3, 2024 and was called a liar, threatened with deportation and told, "you foreigners need to learn to follow our rules". Now, if I read this review, I would instantly ask, what did you do to provoke him? Because no sane person would ever just attack a customer without some kind of provocation. Right? Well, not this time. Here's what happened... I asked for assistance with a problem I was having with their website and was directed to a "manager". I don't know what I was expecting but I found myself talking to a male who was much younger and poorly dressed ss compared to the other employees. He asked what I needed and I explained that I had taken the written test twice but it failed to save the results and gave me an error screen.. the "manager" looked at my phone, looked back at me and said, you haven't taken the test. If you had, I would see it right here. I said, well, that's the problem I'm having I guess can you help me fix it? He said again, you haven't taken the test, then I asked, "are you calling me a liar?" And that's all it took to send the "manager" off on a tirade of insults which exposed his clear hatred of foreigners. I was in shock. I remember thinking, how is this person in charge of this business? If you grew up in a culture like mine, you might react to this treatment, in a way that men sometimes do when insulted and threatened by another man. If you tend to swing first, before thinking things through, it might be best to avoid this location. In the Philippines, there is no acceptable provocation for comiting battery and they may deny future visa extentions if you lose your cool. If you own this business, you have a serious personnel issue here. You should fix it before someone gets hurt. You have security cameras. Did I leave anything out?

When I arrived at 9.00am it was like an open plan and you could walk freely around the shops and took some photos which will give you a good idea what kind of mall is this.I think I would not call this place as a mall and shopping centre ! But you can get your very basic needs ..Opening time is 10 am till 10 pm. It is very basic two storey market place which has around 7-8 fast food restaurant.Ground floor Jolibee was in the corner shop on the left side of entrance. The elevator was not working so I had to walk the stairs and there was Mc Donalds upstair and a few more fast food restaurants were not opened yet also I noted some renovation works carried out.Unless you are very hungry I would not recommend for shopping or time passing etc. There are no other shops just Robinson super market was next to this place..

Great experience of the bar, beautiful views of the sea, beach and hotel along with lovely ambience. Service is somewhat hard to get hold of sometimes but when you have it, they are competent and friendly. Only thing I found disappointing is the absurd pricing. There's not really anywhere nearby so they can definitely get away with that. If you don't mind a journey I'd recommend going into Cebu to Harold's hotel bar or the blue elephant bar. If you fancy some sea breeze, then definitely give this place a try.

Ibiza beach club is a part of the beach club at Movenpick hotel Mactan. Non room guest patronage is conditional. Discount on food for Room Guests and with priority admission. It has the indoor section as a formal dinning room and the outdoor Jacuzzi Bar and restaurant. No dress code here and bare foot is welcome. The outdoor Bar and Restaurant has DJ start at 4 pm as well as Live Entertainment at 8 pm. Cancelled if rainy. Menu is more of Spanish style with choice of Tapas or full course a la carte or Mediterranean Salad buffet or a 15 grilled assortment set menu at 2600++ or 3200++ with unlimited wine per person. Environment is modern and romantic. A Jacuzzi is located at the bar area. Happy hour 4 to 6 and is a perfect for a drink before dark. Close at mid nite during week days and 2 am for weekend. Price is reasonable here and food portion is adequate. Service is excellent here. It was a zoo when the rain suddenly came in the mid of the activities but they mastered it so well and so organised that all guests are well attended.

Another best fine dining restaurant outside Cebu city with astonishing view of the sea and city lights. Their food was superb with a price range of approximately Php 300-500. Their steak was good as well with a price tag of more than Php 1500. I highly recommend to try their pizza and some cocktails. I think the place itself requires some improvement to look more fancy and romantic. Car park could be challenging as it is located at the roof deck of a some kind of residential/bed and breakfast building.

I enjoyed a noon lunch with an amazing view of Cebu from the table. The host/waiter was very welcoming and greeted me with a friendly smile as I stepped out of the elevator. She was very engaging when I was seated, and we had a chance to chat for a few minutes. She is a great ambassador for the restaurant. The food was delicious. I had the peppered pork chop, which was recommended to me by the waiter. The presentation on the plate was excellent. The vegetables and mashed potatoes could have been a little warmer to my liking, but in fairness, they may have cooled a little while I took a few minutes before I began eating. I liked that my meal and my guest's meal were brought to the table at the same time. The prices were reasonable, and the quality and quantity of food were satisfactory. The atmosphere was very good because of the view and no other guests. At times, the noise of the basketball game on the adjoining bar television could be heard in the dining area. There appeared to be a staff person first eating lunch and then doing some paperwork on the table behind me. For a short time, I heard some distracting noise from videos he may have been playing on his phone. I submitted a correct phone number as a suggested edit to the Google Maps listing. I found out I didn't get a response from my online reservation request at the restaurant website because it is not currently being monitored. The two phone numbers listed on the website are not correct either at this time. The view would be enhanced if the windows received a thorough cleaning. When I took some photos, I noticed water spots on the window glass that distracted from the view. Overall, I rated the restaurant 5 stars primarily because of the atmosphere and view, the friendly host/waiter, and the taste of the food. I would consider returning again in the evening to see the Cebu City lights at night.

The place is so romantic. You can see Cebu's main cities: Lapulapu, Mandaue & Cebu City in one view. At the back, you can see the Mactan International Airport and you can watch the planes landing. The food is nice, the prices are reasonable as the place is so classy and elegant. I highly recommend this place, a must try when you are in Cebu!

I was really looking forward to go to Scape Skydeck, first impression was great, you come out of the lift and once out you see the beautiful decor and the view. I ordered the Nachos and it was actually really delicious and quite light too, I really enjoyed that! Then I had the Salmon with Truffle Mash Potato and Beurre Blanc now this dish was a complete disappointment, the Salmon was definitely frozen which made it super dry, the Beurre Blanc had no taste at all and was lumpy and super white, it wasn’t a Beurre Blanc at all but more of a thin Bechamel texture when it should have that buttery velvety texture. The Potato Mash was more like crushed potato and had no Truffle whatsoever! The dish itself was beautifully presented but was spoiled with the diced frozen vegetables! The service was great, the waiter was very attentive and efficient, he was super nice too! Overall I would definitely come back but for a drink or snack and for the view!

Great views of Lapu-Lapu and Cebu city. Nice relaxed atmosphere. The food was good. Many different options to choose. But the main attraction is the view and the vibe. Sitting back relaxing in the evening hours.

Went on a Friday and they have a live band. This is my second time. The first we just had a drink with a friend and catch up. Good view of the city. Sometimes you get fresh air 😅 but today’s a bit humid so not a good time. Rooftop so some parts are really open and like today we got drenched 🌧️😂 Food is pricey but we had leftovers so we took it home. Taste is worth it 👌 I always think of this place as a quick ESCAPE. Love the feeling to be on top and just taking the time to take a break and breathe.

if you wish to chill and enjoy the city lights at night while staying at Lapu Lapu, this place is highly recommended. Although their menu pricelist is not for a chill budget, its very reasonable naman. The staff are very accomodating. It will be great to contact the place or make a reservation before going especially during holidays and peak occasions such as valentines day or else you'll get declined kasi there will be no more vacant tables na.

We came here at night for cocktails and enjoyed the view and drinks so much we came back again for lunch a few days later. The view and the restaurant are very lovely, the food and drinks were excellent and the staff was very friendly and helpful.

Pizza is delicious I love the cheese and the crust, linguine vongole also tests good. The scene is so beautiful, especially there are singer sing the beautiful song in different languages on Friday, It's so relaxed.

The food is your average fine dining restaurant. It's enough to fill your tummies before the flight due to its location being near to the mactan airport. The staff were also nice and accommodating. They also check you from time to time on how the food tastes or if you need anything else. I also love the view here since it is located on the rooftop. No entrance fee, just go straight to the elevator going up the very top then find a seat that suits you best. The food is quite pricey around 200 to 400 peso range but I recommend this one for meetings, family, dates or people who were in a rush leaving for a flight but want to eat good food.

Atmosphere and service 5/5, but food was 3/5. Worth the experience and the views especially, but for a culinary experience, I would probably choose some other place. The food was ok, but not worth the price in my opinion, especially surf and turf. However I have to give extra credit for their wonderful service and hospitality, the waitress even has me taste their wine before serving it which they don't do in many places.

Tides at Shangri-La Mactan, Cebu offers a delightful dining experience with its open kitchen and a variety of food stations. The restaurant serves breakfast, lunch, and dinner with options like seafood and meat roasted over coal, noodle and soup station, fresh salad ingredients, and kid-friendly meals. It presents an extensive international buffet with exciting flavors from around the world in a lively atmosphere.
I had an amazing experience at your restaurant! The food was absolutely delicious, the service was impeccable, and the ambiance was perfect. I wanted to express my sincere gratitude for the exceptional service provided during my recent visit to your restaurant. The server was attentive, knowledgeable about the menu, and provided fantastic recommendations especially Mr. Vincent who greatly accommodate and assist us. The food was delicious and served in a timely manner. Your staff truly went above and beyond to ensure a memorable dining experience. Thank you for the outstanding service, and I look forward to visiting again soon.

Our first buffet after two years. We stayed in Shangri-la before and had buffet here numerous time already. Everyone needs to be served at the counter. It's okay as this make it safe for every one. I just find that the food selection is not the same as before. But it's still okay.

Best Breakfast Experience (New Normal review May 2021) Buffet breakfast at Shangri La Mactan is usually offered at Tides on weekends with plated meals on varying restaurants on weekeds (we had ours at the Lobby Lounge) Despite the limited offerings availabe. The breakfast buffet at Tides make other breakfast options around Mactan pale in comparison. You get the staple meat and vegetable favorites for breakfast, an assortment of breads and pastries and assorted fruits with yoghurt for light desserts. Something that stands out are the noodle station and grazing table which you wont find in other properties (at least in the current setting). Do come early if you wish to get the best tables as the property gets really busy on weekends (They open as early as 6 AM). I prefer to dine at the al fresco area since it's well shaded and has sweeping views of their gorgeous lawn. With a light breeze on a cloudless morning it becomes the perfect setting for the perfect Sunday breakfast.

Paid 1400 for reduced food options at their breakfast buffet. Totally not worth it.!! The food available aren't even of best quality, just standard breakfast food.

Buffet restaurant that usually is the breakfast venue for guests in the Main Wing of the Shangri-La Mactan hotel. However during the Covid-19 pandemic, those in the Ocean Wing have to use this venue also, as Acqua & the Ocean Club Lounge are closed. This was not communicated to us ahead of our stay in Ocean Wing, so we were unhappy, as we had eaten once at Tides on a previous visit, and were very disappointed with our food. That being said the safety measures they have put in place (assisted buffet / cleanliness / distancing etc.) are good and the staff were excellent. The assisted buffet is particularly good, as it not only follows Covid-19 protocols, it also dissuades guests from over filling their plates. This being said the venue is not as good as Acqua, so having to use this restaurant was an unwelcome downgrade. The venue did get busy at peak hours... and we would have preferred to have our breakfast in Acqua, as was advertised at the time of booking our suite room.

High quality international buffet located within the hotel resort. We enjoyed the food, ambiance, and good service. Turned out the meal was special Korean themed and typically it's an international cuisine. It was about 5000 php for two people. Recommended.

I’m not a fan of buffets because I only have a small appetite. However, upon seeing their buffet that day, it’s appetizing that it made me want to try almost all of it. But of course, I didn’t. I can say that I’m satisfied with the food and the service is superb. Though we didn’t get a chance to dine at the restaurant because there are a lot of guests that time so we were accompanied to the ballroom hall which served as an extension to cater the other guests for the breakfast buffet.

Breakfast Buffet in Shangrila Maçtan Tides is one of our favorite buffet breakfast. The variety and quality are both very well thought off. Our favorite are grilled bacon, salmon cream cheese omelette, the Korean fried chicken, and the fresh waffle and pancake stations. They also had an amazing kids section. To top it off we received amazing service from Nickmar and Romnick on all days we were there. Definitely a highlight of our trip

Restaurant
Buko Seaside Bar and Restaurant is a hidden gem in Cebu with accommodating and friendly staff who provide superb customer service. The ambience is cool and relaxing, making it a great place to dine. Their pineapple rice and coconut shake come highly recommended, although some find the bangus overpriced for its ordinary taste. Additionally, they offer free transportation to the main road, adding convenience for guests.
A little difficult to find in the evening and on foot, but once you find it, it's worth it. A welcoming environment, outdoors or under the roof, offers a view of the sea and delicious dishes. Fish, seafood and meat, in the Filipino tradition. The dishes are presented with care, and served with elegance. The staff is friendly and helpful. I tasted pork belly and squid, really tasty and well seasoned. The taste was pleasant and smooth. Good value for money, but there are cheaper restaurants on the island.

One of the nicest restaurants to dine in.Staff from the moment I walk towards the entrance were very welcoming 🙏. I didn't book a table maybe I should have but luckily I managed to get a table. Restaurant was 95% full with Koreans so I knew the food was going to be good. Wine was by the bottle only so needs must.Maybe should have offering by glass also. Food was delicious everything was eaten.Mostly based on seafood and bbq. Service was excellent. Staff organized a Grab for me and the end to complete a lovely night. The Restaurant is on Mactan Island so you need travel a bit to get there but trust me the experience is worth it.

Nice view, musics and tasty food. It’s a perfect choice for people who have diving courses nearby. The food was fragrant and flavorful, and the service was friendly and attentive. The restaurant was located on the shore and the views were stunning. I highly recommend this spot for anyone looking for a delicious meal. Will come back tomorrow.

Nice location right by the ocean, but the entrance road is horrible. Nice ambience. Food ok-ish. The restaurant definitely caters more to Koreans (just look at the menu). As a seafood restaurant it should also have had some regular fish dishes. Tourist prices for sure.

After a bumpy ride, we were surprised to see a hidden gem. I've been here in Cebu for a month now and this restaurant has the most accommodating and friendliest staff I've met. Their customer service is SUPERB! They were always ready to assist and were very attentive to the guests' needs. The ambience was cool and relaxing. Everyone should try their pineapple rice and coconut shake. These are highly recommended! We were just a little disappointed with their bangus as it was too pricy. It was more expensive than the other dishes, but it was just an ordinary bangus that anyone could cook. Anyway, they also offer free transpo to the main road. 😊😊 We hope to go back here during the day to see the seaview.

Visited Buko Seaside Bar and Restaurant in Marigondon, Lapulapu City recently. The location is nice, and the ambiance is great, but I was disappointed with a few things. The food is quite expensive for what you get, and I was surprised to find that there was no available buko, which is a bit disappointing considering it's in the name of the restaurant. The service was average. Overall, it's an okay place to visit for the view, but I hope they can improve the value for money and live up to their name in the future.

I ordered cheese scallops and they were delicious. Drinks were great as well. However, the Coconut Gorgonzola pizza that my partner order was a disaster. It took forever to arrive and he couldn’t even eat it as we weren’t informed that there were nuts in it. Had I not been there to test to see if there was nuts in it, he could’ve eaten it and gone into anaphylactic shock. We would’ve said something about the pizza, but the 5 servers in the restaurant didn’t bother to check on us even though we were the only people in the restaurant. We just got our check and left.

Great restaurant located near the water not far from JPark complex. The access ride is a tad ropey and difficult for cars without much ground clearance as it’s a rough track with lots of pot-holes that probably get worse after major rainfall. Staff were good and helpful, drinks were really good and food was not bad at all. A good place to relax with friends and with easy access to dive shops and the water for diving and training.
Andrew “Andy” Davis — Google review
You’ll need to take a bumpy taxi ride because of the uneven road with lots of potholes to reach the restaurant. Staffs are all very lovely and the place is beautiful with an open space with white decor by the seaside. They have big fans dotted around the restaurant so it gives a nice breeze while dining. The food and drinks we ordered were all quite good. They only accept cash so prepare beforehand!

Buko has the best seafood and the view. Must-go restaurant when visiting Mactan. Sure will come back.

Food is just above average but service and location are excellent. Hard to get to but worth the walk from the main road or bumpy taxi ride. It's right next to the ocean and you get a cool breeze. We were seated on the patio area but it started to rain so moved inside. The tables were taken so had to sit on the floor, Korean/Japanese style. Not good for my back lol. The fresh shakes were very good but on the small side. They don't take credit cards so bring cash. They also call a taxi for you if you need one.

Gold Mango Grill & Restaurant is a welcoming establishment with operating hours from 11:00 AM to 9:30 PM every day. Visitors have praised the friendly and unbiased staff, making both locals and foreigners feel at home. The menu offers delicious dishes such as crab pasta, spicy shrimp, beef kebab, plain rice, and mango cheesecake for dessert. A satisfied customer mentioned spending around 1200 pesos on three main courses and dessert, expressing a desire to return with family for a celebration.
Reservation is necessary for this resto, i suggest, which what we did. The food just took about 10 minutes to serve after we had our order. The staff were very friendly and accommodating. Food was great, and its not that expensive. Love the place and the ambiance. My only concern is parking area, though the guard was very helpful, but they must have a good parking.

Ordered two pastas with a friend, both very disappointed. Pasta was very sweet even for the Philippines; was hard to even taste the seafood. The crab rose pasta tasted like it was made with ketchup. For the price point of this place, absolutely not worth it. Service was good, hence the 2/5.

Food not served hot. Just an FYI, the baked ‘Scallops’ are in fact oysters… however, that didn’t matter, they tasted good, but were served lukewarm. The shrimp was again very tasty, but went cold within minutes. The rice and sisig were delicious and hot, but overall, an average experience.

This is a must-try restaurant in Maribago Lapulapu. All of the dishes had excellent flavors. The prices were reasonable for the quality of food and service provided. The ambiance is modern yet welcoming, creating a pleasant dining experience with my family. We’ll surely eat here again.

The staff are friendly and unprejudiced whether you are a local or a foreigner. The food is yummy especially the crab pasta. We ordered almost three main courses (crab pasta, spicy shrimp, beef kebab and plain rice) plus dessert (mango cheesecake) which amounted to 1200 pesos. I would definitely take my family here to celebrate.

Wow! Wow! Wow! This is my third time dining in at this restaurant.! I was blown away by how much they have improved! Wow.! The food? I would say, “ on point”, “superb”, wow! The taste would definitely not disappoint your international taste bud.🥺The presentation is fantastic! The doneness! Exquisite.! On the one hand, I have dined in at a nearby quite popular resort, but the food was “ so-so” or average. Now, I’ve figured out why most of that resort’s guests look for a nearby restaurant. 😄 Oh! We even got a complimentary dessert. ☺️❤️❤️

Just one word, awesome! The food was great, service was always on time, and the prices were justified. This place is a little gem hidden in Lapu-Lapu City. I had garlic lobster, and the serving was so big I had to bag half of it and take home with me. We got there about 11:00 and were the only ones there. By the time we left, the place was almost full. The Pina colada was perfectly made and served in a Pineapple like container or in a real pineapple??? Either way, it looked like a real pineapple. Highly recommend this place, and we will be visiting again in the near future.

We were looking for a restaurant to celebrate our 9th wedding anniversary and we're glad a friend recommended this gem. They accommodated us even though we didn't have any reservations. Since its our first time here we asked the waitress Quennie for her recommendations. We anticipated that she will suggest the most expensive items on the menu, the usual practice of restos, but instead she made great suggestions and considered that we have kids with us. All the food she recommended were delicious and awesome and we will definitely be coming back.
