Italian restaurant
Caffi Glas is an Italian dining establishment that provides customers with the opportunity to observe the chefs preparing their meals. For a more conventional café experience, Caffi No 6 offers a diverse menu. On the other hand, those in search of excellent coffee and cake should visit Caffir Sgwar. To experience something truly unique, one can try Portmeirions' very own Italian gelato made on site at Caffir Angel.
A great addition to Portmeirion village, which is an absolutely magical place that once you visit will stay in your heart forever! The Caffe has good selection of different very well prepared dishes for everyone, including kids. Excellent service and very quick delivery of food to your table. We were very happy with our choice and can't recommend it enough!

The Cafe itself is located in a beautiful village and at a vert pleasant spot. They had inside and a outside seating, the seating outside is really pleasing and has that feel good factor. The food we ordered was really delicious and was made very presentable. The staff were friendly and courteous. It was the best cafe that we could have asked for at that tiny village. I would definitely recommend this place to anybody going out there.
Sachin Revadal — Google review
The staff are lovely and whoever previous reviews mention are no longer here. Chay served us regularly and others were just as helpful and friendly. The food is really amazing. Best breakfast, pizzas, desserts I’ve had for a while. Cooked to perfection. Thank you to all of the staff.
Sami Jackson — Google review
Absolutely beautiful setting for simple, decently-priced food. Pizza was delicious! Very good service from these hard workers. Sitting outside in the sun is recommended although there is indoor seating.
Tim Miles — Google review
Bit of a limited menu but the options are delicious, with some really gorgeous desserts and the best views of the village; was also open later than the other restaurants. Staff were friendly and happy, and the place was clean and very pleasant. My only issue is that it is pricey, but then, it is Portmeirion!

Service from Charlotte was incredible. She really went out of her way. I'd had a horrible day and she really put a smile on my face. The rest of the team were all lovely as well.

Had a bad experience with food and service . £12 for a small size pizza is such a shame and not very tasteful as well , we ordered pasta too which tasted underwhelming as well and also paid £12 for pasta , we asked for extra plates and the waiter never brought it to our table and started serving other guests . Then we had to ask for cutlery as well , they should have brought it with the food. Don’t recommend it at all

Discovered this little café tucked away behind an archway in a corner of the village while on a very enjoyable day trip. The outside tables, in a lovely setting overlooking the piazza, were very busy, so I had my lunch inside. The interior of the café is small, no frills but clean and comfortable, with clean toilets at the back. Very pleasant and hardworking young staff. You pay for your meal at the bar when ordering, and it is brought to your table. I found the service very quick. The menu offered a good selection of homemade Italian dishes including pasta, pizzas and platters, plus a children's menu. Ordered a salad with grilled chicken, bacon, mixed leaves, cherry tomatoes, parmesan cheese and croutons in a tangy dressing, with some bread and butter as an extra. The food was good quality and well presented, very fresh salad ingredients and big portions. There's a wide choice of wines, beer, cider and soft drinks, but oddly they were not serving coffee or tea even though they were on the menu. Overall a satisfying lunch, but at £20.90 for the meal and a cider, it was expensive.

We had a really lovely lunch here. Chaitanya served us and was extremely polite and attentive. The food was delicious, we found the portions to be a good size for the price so found it value for money. The creamy garlic and chilli prawn toast was incredible, definitely recommend it. Apologies the photos are with some food eaten already, it looked so good we dived right in before I took the pics! One thing I missed photographing the lemon tiramisu cheesecake which was fantastic and highly recommended!
Ellie The Goldendoodle — Google review
Very desappointing for an "italian" restaurant. The pasta was not well cooked, the souce would had no flavour if it wasnt for the chilly. The chicken was cut too big and tasteless. We were five people and three ordered the Peppers, spicy chicken, Italian sausage. Pasta. Penne al'arrabiata. We all could not finish dish. I do not recommend. The staff I believe to be new and untrained.
Robson Lopes — Google review
Apparently it's acceptable for the chef (appeared to be the one in charge) to vape while cooking? It's an open kitchen... I'm pretty sure if I took a vape out at the table I'd be told to go outside. I'd expect the person making my food to not be stood with a pan in one hand, and a vape in the other.
Hannah M — Google review
The food was pretty good but the pizza was very small. Nice service
Michal — Google review
For me the food, arrived hot, tasted great and was presented nicely. The staff were AMAZING. The Gluten Free chocolate cake was excellent, I have no idea how they managed to get it so light and fluffy. If you've eaten a range of what passes for Gluten Free you'll know what I'm talking about! Also worth a mention - when we arrived with our kids we were immediately given some crayons and pencils with some colouring in for them to do. Downsides : minor for me, the toilets were a bit on the cramped side but there are plenty of other facilities available in the village. At peak times the wait for food/service can be extended but that's to be expected at it's a popular destination.

Beautiful village to wander round. Lovely coffee shop. Children were given a sheet to count the mermaids, with a potential surprise when you handed your sheet back in when you leave

Beautiful place! We went to visit from the opening and it was a good decision as the place was not busy and peaceful in the morning. The tide was really low, so we went to walk on he beach, amazing scenery

This was a wonderful day out and an absolutely beautiful place. The buildings and design of this little quaint village make you feel as if you've been transported to a peaceful and tranquil spot abroad. The main square is an absolute delight to sit and take in this amazing space and the architecture of the buildings, built into the rocks.

A weird and wonderful place, unique in Wales. Great place to wander around. Live big band was playing in the village square which was fab. Lots of places to eat, reasonably price. The street food cafe is great. Walks along the coast and through the woodland are gorgeous with stunning views and things to see on the way, like the lake with Japanese bridge.
Mark Campion — Google review
Great, unusual place to visit. Lovely walks round the coast and through the forest. Went during the winter time, mid-December, no one around, but I bet it gets incredibly busy during the summer months. Definitely worth a visit.
Dave Miller — Google review
We stayed here in the village as a birthday treat. What an amazing place and full of history. Well worth a visit. There is also the option of two walks; a coastal one to the lighthouse and a forest one. I choose the former as the terrain is more suitable for the older person. As you walk around you have the opportunity to download the app and learn all about the fascinating facts as to how the monuments came to be a part of the place. Intriguing stories about the buildings and the creator. Great experience and a tick list for us 😃

Beautiful place. Pleased to see it now getting the maintenance it needed. Lots more shops and cafes and 2 nice art galleries, not to mention the breathtaking views. Staff warm and friendly.

An absolutely amazing place. It's hard to believe you are in Wales, especially when the sun is shining. Felt like you were in the Mediterranean. Highly recommended.
Paul Beebe — Google review
First time here, even though we expected rain it held off enough to experience the town from top to bottom with some sunshine. We got there quite early, the car park is free. I liked that it’s a one way system in and out. It’s £18 per adult, and worth the money to experience the town. It’s strange to see the bright colours and the palm trees and to think you could be the Mediterranean and not north wales. There’s loads to see, take lots of photos so I’d suggest you take your time around the village. There’s a coastal walk which heads along to the lighthouse and up into the tree line for woodland walks. You can also access the beach, but it does suggest you take care as the tide can come in quickly and there is quicksand! There’s hidden gem’s scattered about the woodland walks, from old canons, a Chinese pond, a dogs cemetery, and other hidden things to find. Loads of cafes for food and drinks scattered around and they’re not too expensive either and plenty of seating areas too. The experience is well worth it. The views are beautiful, overlooking the water and then back up to the village. You can spend a good few hours gently wandering around, just take your time and take in the sights. Highly recommended to anyone that hasn’t been before! Enjoy.

This is a beautiful garden village. It is made for photography so be ready for loads of photos and pictures. You can stay at the Hotel and also eat lunch or dinner but you must make reservations in advance. There are lots of hills and it can get crowded. They have crafts and arts for sale and you can mail postcards from the information center

We spend a week in north wales in the heatwave in September so we had amazing weather for it, when we found out we had to pay for entry we were not going to go in, however we are so glad we paid for entry as this is an attraction not to be missed, it’s beautiful and you could mistake it for anywhere in the world! Peaceful you can spend all day there would definitely recommend!

A beautiful and strange place to wander around. Even in the rain it was delightful. Lovely woodland walk, coastal path and the town was sweet. Food absolutely delicious and staff very friendly and helpful.

Wonderful place for a visit. Beautiful and quirky, so well maintained and everyone we met was so polite, kind and welcoming. We were so glad we visited. Some great places to eat and a lovely couple of shops. Is steep in places but arrangements can be made to make it accessible to those who need it.
Laura Nield — Google review
I’d been wanting to visit Portmeirion Village for years, so was disappointed to find that my expectations did not meet the reality. For starters, the entry ticket was £17.50 per person which I expected. But the gardens within the village were badly maintained, and you can probably see the whole village in an hour, excluding the woodlands. The coastal path walk was lovely though and worth doing.

A unique and exquisite place to visit. Fascinating history and backstory. Beautifully maintained. Stunning views. Lovely cafes. "I am not a number"!

Glad we came across this place by recommendation. It's like stepping into a whole different experience taking you back to Italian architecture awesome gardens and don't know how many hydrangea plants. Add to your bucket list
Bob Hendry — Google review
Nice place to visit. Long trek through the woods to get to the beach which isn't really child friendly - lots of mud and sinking sand - but beautiful non the less.
Dawn Burnell — Google review
Beautiful place. The architecture is amazing. The views are amazing. It’s like being in a different world. You can lock me in there if you like, I wouldn’t mind 😁

First time visiting this place, very pretty quirky village, lots of buildings to look around. The terrain is quite steep from top to bottom. For those that remember the prisoner the memories will come flooding back, keep looking over your shoulder for the big ball chasing you ! Most of the buildings are either hotel rooms or self catering so you can't go in them, but still good to look around. Even though it was fairly busy you didn't get the feeling it was crowded. Lots of space in the car parks, cafes seems to be everywhere! Lots of toilets which is good. For those that like a stroll, there is also two walks you can do. One taking you up into the woodland where they have a tree trail if you are into trees, a mix of tress from all over the world. The other walk takes you around the Chinese lake and down to the vast sandy shore. Nice to have a paddle and to feel the sand under your feet. This brings you back to the bottom of the village. All in all a nice few hours spent wandering around.

Fabulous place. Very unique. Lots to see. Stay as a resident and experience the village at night. Wonderful woodland and coastal walks. Friendly and helpful staff.

We did this visit off season and it was fabulous. I can image during the Sumner this place is full and exciting but if you don't like crowds it was a prefect time. Staff at the cafe was lovely cream tea was prefect and the seagul was funny 😁

Lovely little village. Beautifully painted. It was lovely to walk around and look at all the different coloured buildings and paintings. There was a coastal walk but never went down there. Car parking was free so just had to pay to go in.

Absolutely wonderful day had by all. Our visit coincided with a 'Prisoner' convention and we participated in a scene (human chess game). Marvellous!!

Lovely place, beautiful grounds and views of the estuary. We stayed in a house for 4 days with friends and had a good time, although the weather was poor, but then it was Wales in March, so it was not unexpected! Take games and waterproofs 😊
Anne Bunn — Google review
Gifted a voucher, the cost on the day 9/3/24 was £10, this most likely takes into account most of the shops are closed, if I’m correct it is now owned by a charity ? With the added pressure of grade 1&2 listed buildings, would imagine maintenance cost are high ? This would explain why it’s a little shabby in places, uneven walkways, and in places very questionable handrails ?
Peaky Blinder — Google review
Visited today after seeing on Hairy Bikers programme. Extremely pretty place with different coloured buildings, located on an estuary. Cost £10 each to get in, was quiet today but should imagine gets extremely busy in high season.

Only 4 stars for the fact that you have to pay to see the village. For the rest it's a fantastic place to visit. Really different from the rest of Wales.

Amazing little Italy, really feel like you away yet at home. Plenty to see around the town itself and wonderful sea side and woodlands walk with many beautiful trees imported form around the world. Despite the rainy weather, still plenty to explore. Yes you pay to enter, but upkeep cost like everything, so fair price for what you get. Amazing day out

We had a large group for afternoon tea for a hen do, which was fabulous. The food was wonderful: delicious chocolate bombs, sandwiches, savoury sausage roll slice, rhubarb creations and scones. The layered carrot cake was rather sweet but many others really enjoyed it. The staff were attentive, helpful and friendly. And the view was lovely, even on a grey and misty day. Even the trip up and down the hill was fun in the buggies with hilarious drivers. Such a fabulous outing and definitely keen to go back!

Absolutely fabulous hotel situated in Portmerion village alongside the estuary. Very tranquil when the village closes. The food in the restaurant was delicious and beautifully presented. Everything was mouthwateringly amazing. I had the lamb to start followed by the beef and the souffle. It was faultless. The staff were very helpful especially the porters who drive the buggies to and from the car park. (This shuttle service was great!) The restaurant staff were a bit frosty at times. The reception staff were all lovely and friendly and in hand to help. Our room was perfect with a view over the estuary with some beautiful sunrises! It was very clean and well equipped. The bed was so comfy! The shower was powerful and there was complimentary shower gels etc. It really was a magical stay from beginning to end. I highly recommend a stay here!

Stunningly beautiful location! We stayed in Bridge House right in the heart of the village, staff were all excellent and the restaurants and meals were superb. Well worth a visit but plan to spend a day, better still stay the night as we did and wake up in little Italy on the Welsh coast.
Ian McBryde — Google review
Unique experience staying for the evening. It allows you to access the village after its closed to general public letting you have a much more relaxed stroll around and makes for much better photo opportunities with very little other tourists around so pretty much can have the place to yourself.

We went for Sunday lunch and it was delicious. You need to book in advance. And if you buy the Sunday lunch entry to the Portmeirion village is free. A good choice in the menu. Staff really friendly. Made you feel at home. Reasonably priced considering entry to village was free.

Had one of the best afternoon teas I’ve ever had. Delicious sandwiches and scones. Lovely service and an amazing view. Also got bonus sausage rolls and cheese tarts. Will definitely be coming back

Just back from a fantastic couple of days at Portmeirion. A touch of Italy in Wales. It was so relaxing around the pool. The sunbeds were extremely comfortable. Walking round the village was majestic. The building are fantastic and colourful. It is superb walking around at night when it is lit up. The restaurant is lovely and the food is superb, if a little pricey. Breakfasts are excellent and sets you up for the day. All in all a special place to stay. We stayed in the village in a suite above a shop. Luxurious with 2 vathrooms, 2 bedrooms, a lounge, 3 televisions and a kitchenette. The suite was extremely clean on arrival and kept amazingly clean during our stay. Our arrival and departure was brilliantly dealt with by reception, transporting us and our bags to the accommodation supreme ease. Portmeirion village is so special and definitely a place to visit and stay in.

Had the most fantastic time here...beautiful room and all the staff extremely friendly and helpful. The food blew us away so cannot wait to pay another visit . Would highly recommend 👌 Xx

An absolutely wonderful location to explore the village. Very clean and spacious with uninterrupted views. The location is very picturesque with "Italian style" architecture. I travelled here to explore the set of "the prisoner" but found myself walking on the beach and exploring the local woodlands. My only advice is to start your day early, it becomes very busy after midmorning. A fabulous hotel with spectacular surroundings.

Absolutely fantastic place, we stayed in the hotel with a view of the sea. It was fantastic I would have given 5 stars but was let down by the waiter not giving me and the wife the free bubly even though I had to remind him and he still didn’t bother. The food was delicious.

The shops, sites, restaurants are amazing and staying in the village is an experience not to be missed. Once the village closes for the evening, the town is all yours to explore. A multitude of walks and sites, and a fantastic restaurant in the hotel that boast exceptional service in and around the hotel lounge and lobby for drinks.

If you're seeking evening activities in Portmeirion, there are several alternatives to consider. One option is to embark on a culinary adventure by sampling the impressive array of beverages from the cocktail menu at Hotel Portmeirion. Within the hotel premises, patrons can select seating arrangements from a bar, terrace, or lounge area that provide picturesque vistas overlooking the Dwyryd Estuary.
Good variety menu with good tasting food, and friendly, helpful staff. One of the busier restaurants and one of the best priced, and more tucked away than open to the views, this is much more a family place than many of the others in Portmeirion.
K Rae — Google review
Was told do not serve fish & chips anymore , So i had beef something and chips witch was cold/warm the rest of my family had ham salad baguettes, The lettuce looked like last weeks with no tomato or cucumber and the baguettes was rock hard. Would not use the town hall cafe again. Although the cafe was clean.

Amazing place but slow, grumpy staff, cold coffee, bad tea from a machine. Self-service at cafe prices. Avoid.
Jon Mason — Google review
We had jacket potatoes which were nicely cooked and I had coleslaw which tasted homemade and it was absolutely lovely! The side salad was fresh and delicious! The chefs seem like a happy bunch, the pizzas looked great too. On a side note. There was a polite lady on the check out, but apart from that the staff seemed more interested in having a chinwag rather than greeting and serving customers. When we first walked in, there were three or four team members having a chat, no one greeted us, we didn't know whether we just walked in and sat down, or if we would be shown to a table? We took a guess and headed for a seat, no one stopped us so we guessed it was right. My partner ordered food and was pointed to the chefs to make an order then pay the lady. We stacked our plates on the tray before we left as we couldn't see anywhere that we should have put them?

Friendly staff, clean and tidy place. Toilets & baby changing facilities available. I'd say some of the food was quite pricey yet basic; my tuna & sweetcorn baguette cost £8..
Georgia H — Google review
Good quality food in a nice location. Baby friendly café with suitable facilities. We had the chicken burger, chips and coleslaw (which was lovely and tasted homemade) and fishcakes with Asian slaw and salad. The staff on the till were not particularly welcoming but our waiter and other staff passing our table were friendly and my visit was overall positive.
Sarah Wilson — Google review
Very unfriendly 'welcome' being told that it's full (fair enough), and on asking about the wait getting a response with an attitude and tone that made us feel thoroughly unwelcome. Sarcastic explanation that there's no waiting inside due to the pandemic and staff safety, left me confused about what we would have to do to even gain entry

Arrived at The Village close to 5pm when most restaurants were closing. Found my way to the Town Hall Cafe which was still selling desserts. Running out of time, I bought the first thing I saw, a yellow cake with layers of jam, white frosting and chocolate dripping. It was delicious! I have enclosed a picture. Does anyone know what this is called? I would love to get more or attempt to make some but have had no luck with Google searches. Thanks in advance.

The pizza was good; drizzled with basil oil, I think. The interior feels confused. Needs a better layout that is less cramped in circulation, and an interior design worthy of its setting.

food was sad - pizza resembled dr oetker, burned (inedible) on the outside, gooey on the inside, all in a tiny footprint for the sum of £11. service was welcoming but SLOOOOOOOOOOW. had to wait 50mins for 2 sad pizzas. atmosphere was crowded, loud as hell, unpleasant, and seating was dirty.
Feliks Szyszka — Google review
Simple if you can not do 1 simple espresso don't sell it. If that gelato shop do that espresso in Italy will be closed in week. And that thing they call Pizza and charge you £10 for margarita, well frozen pizza from tesco has more flavour. Only good thing was the welcoming staff.
Ahines BM — Google review
No outside seating available until we had waited around 20 minutes. What wasn't clear was that there was additional seating available inside which we would have preferred. No pizzas or linguine available. To cap it all, two mouthfuls later, the fire alarm went off. There were insufficient staff to ascertain that this was a false alarm and so we all had to disperse, along with our half-eaten food. This increased the waiting time even more, needless to say.
Simon Groves — Google review
The best bit of our visit to Portmeirion! The fish was freshly cooked and the batter was very crispy. The restaurant served us quickly, and it was good to sit down inside for lunch. However Portmeirion itself was pretty disappointing: We paid £17 to get in and had explored the whole village (the bits you are allowed access to) within an hour, including browsing all the shops. Very touristy, but not a good tourist experience, sorry. The plate of fish & chips was very good though!

Horrible experience! This was the only cafe open in the village apart from the ice cream shop further down! The pastries and sandwiches are stale, old and look horrible! The staff are rude, when we asked them to heat the scones they gave us a negative look and said "no we can’t” I’m surprised that in this beautiful village a horrible cafe like this is allowed to operate! The seating outside is beautiful but the food is beyond horrible! We had the scones because for some reason we thought they looked better than the other stuff there but they were stale, cream was old, and jam was jelly not jam! The coffee was okay - we had americano and cappuccino Apart from coffee - if you really need one- I don’t recommend at all
