Leyte Island

Visayas is one of the Philippines' 3 main island groups. In Central Visayas, Cebu City’s Spanish colonial architecture includes the triangular Fort San Pedro and the Basilica del Santo Niño. Bohol Island’s Chocolate Hills are a group of more than 1,000 conical, grass-covered mounds that turn brown in the dry season. In Corella, rare bug-eyed primates called tarsiers are protected at the Philippine Tarsier Sanctuary.

Ochó Seafood and Grill in Tacloban is a must-visit restaurant that offers a wide selection of delicious dishes. The seafood options are always fresh and well-prepared, making them a personal favorite. The service provided is excellent, and the portions are generous, perfect for sharing. Some standout dishes include kilawin, baked scallops, ensaladang lato, tinolang isda, sarad, inihaw na isda, and adobong pusit.
Foods are freshly picked and priced reasonably. If you want a “Dampa”-like experience in Tacloban, you should visit Ocho.

Kudos to their chef. Food was great. We takeout some foods unfortunately no plate included 🥲, anyways we enjoyed the foods. A bit narrow space.

This is my second time, as this was highly recommended to me by my local friends here. I really like their Pork Sinugba; the way they make it, it's very, very delicious. It's also my first time to try guso salad; it's very good and crunchy. Every time I go to Tacloban, I see to it that I go here. I think the reason why it’s good is because it’s fresh and cooked in simple recipes, as pinoys love it simple, not to mention the reasonable price.

The swordfish and adobong pusit were to die for! Excellently prepared cooked and dished! I'm going to have to revisit Tacloban just to enjoy another meal here.

Oh i can't get over there squid. black ink was no bother to my smiling. and then the purbida kangkong was sooooooo yummy! and then their clams i forgot the name. waaaaah! everything was delicious! gotta go back! 😍😍😍

The best and freshest seafoods in Tacloban. They also have a variety of desserts that are not too sweet.

Whenever I have guests in Tacloban City, I make it a point to bring them to Ocho Grill. I like the fast service and I love the seafood. My only sentiment is the place because it is crowded and noisy plus, not fit for elderly and PWD. How I wish the location is in a better place with good parking and bigger space.
Mick Georgia — Google review
Very good food and lots of selection. The restaurant is almost full house when I arrived for dinner. The food is fresh esp.the steamed oysters I ordered. The porbidang talong I ordered is a new favorite food of mine. It's creamy because of the milk, but spicy at the same time.
Mark Gregory Miranda — Google review
The food was really great. Diners may choose from the very extensive choices of uncooked fresh food for the kitchen to cook. The cake selection was also very nice. The interior of the restaurant was rather impressive. The place seemed to be very popular among diners who know good food, among families and certainly among people who can actually afford the price (though it is, of course, so less expensive than a Margarita Fores-inspired restaurant. There were 4 of us and we weren't able to consume half of the food!!!). It also seemed like a good and popular place for celebrations, even for the millennial crowd. However, the staff could be better. They are very hardworking, always at hand when needed and called, and actually quite polite. But I think they could still be better by simply smiling more, smiling more at customers and ENGAGING customers. There was actually this guard outside, whose name starts with a letter J, who impressed me by being quite engaging and pleasant. In general, it was a positive experience.

A must when you’re in Tacloban! If I could eat here everyday while I’m in Tacloban, I would. I haven’t had a dish that I didn’t like! Seafoods are always fresh and well-cooked. Service is great. Portions are huge and perfect for sharing. Personal favorites are: kilawin, baked scallops, ensaladang lato, tinolang isda, sarad, inihaw na isda, and adobong pusit. I always look forward to Ocho whenever I’m in the city!
Kristine Joy Victor — Google review
I have been to Ocho several times just to give it another chances of its mediocrity, but it always falls short to a excruciating at best experience. With such variety of dishes, I was expecting maybe I was just missing out on the better ones the last time I visited, but it was just all bland and tasteless. Some hard to swallow because of its emptiness of flavor that you just want spit it out of your mouth. Also, they always come up to overcook the seafood and beef dishes, it becomes inedible The service was good, you can see that the crew really cares. The place was appealing, however cramped and the AC doesn't seem to work most of the time.

Italian restaurant
Giuseppe’s is a beloved Italian restaurant known for its delicious pizza, grilled salmon, and steak. While the prices may be higher than local standards, the food quality, inviting atmosphere, and attentive staff make it worth it. The restaurant excels in serving delectable pizzas and pastas from a wood oven. The ambience during dinner is described as moody and romantic, providing an exceptional dining experience. Guests praise the exceptional service with attentive staff refilling water glasses regularly.
Great staff. Love the food 😋 Make sure you try their pizza. I mean this is an Italian restaurant so it's a must! For dessert, that's Tortino on photo. It's molten lava cake with 2 scoops of ice cream. Drooling yet? 😏🤤 They also offer a complimentary Italian liquor shot after dinner 🥃

THE GREATEST ITALIAN RESTO IN TOWN! Ambience, especially during dinner time, is spectacular. Very moody and romantic experience. Service was exceptional. Staff was very attentive to every table. Refilling your water glass every now and then. Food was beyond words! Prices was reasonable on what you get. A bit pricey but amazing experience and food. Starting with the antipasto - The Foccasia. It is well seasoned, plenty, and crunchy. Their pizzas are amazing too. Their Prosciutto Pizza was the best and their Margherita. Their Caesar Salad was also amazing and taste authentic. Their Carbonara (Filipino style) was great, would like to try their Italian version. Their USDA Black Angus Steak is Phenomenal! Was priced P475 per 100 grams when we were there. For us, it was just the right price considering the size, the doneness of the steak, the sides, and the taste of it. It's unlike any other steak we've tasted and this is where we always go to when we crave for steak. Unlike other restos who has a fixed priced on their steak and its just little. The greatest Italian vibes and food you can find in the city. The best quality and price. Perfect for dates, special occasions, and once-a-month family dining.

Excellent wine with healthy pours :) The food is also delicious. We had Pasta, and a salad accompanied by the rustic garlic toast. After the delicious fruit and ice cream dessert, they offer a Free Amaretto to crown the experience.... Perfect. Service is prompt and correct, supervised by the hands on proprietor ( Westerner ). It's an excellent restaurant by any standards, spotlessly clean, comfortable, roomy chairs and tables and with relaxing music. They also have imported steaks ( USA ), even Filet Mignon, which is next on the agenda :).

I had the pepperoni Pizza and garlic bread today. Sadly the garlic bread didnt taste Like garlic at all, but it Had a brown/black crust, i liked that. And also the Pizza had like almost no taste for me, i couldnt taste the cheese, tomatoe Sauce and the dow neither. Like the Salt was Missing in the dow, but maybe its Just because i am used to european Pizzas. But they gave me some really nice Salt, i really Liked that. And also the Chili Powder was a bit spicy, always a pluspoint. But the Chili Sauce was in a weird bottle, so even through shaking it was hard to get the Chili flakes out, was almost Just oil coming out. Maybe serve it in a small Cup with a spoon. I was really happy with the stuff, they were kind and caring alot. Thank you

Great pizza and pasta, other food Is average, we had the steak and grilled pork chop. Steak was tough, pork chop was pan grilled and small for a main. Mains came out before the appetisers. (This should not happen at any restaurant) However, as a pizza and pasta place, ill give them 5 stars for there pizza and pasta it's amazing, pizza is from a wood oven and made perfect. Lasagna and ravioli are very nice. Also the Tosted bread with balsamic vinegar and olive oil is amazing and a big serving.

Every time that I am in Tacloban, I try to visit this restaurant. The food is great. The ambiance is wonderful and the staff are attentive. Although, don't go off menu. The staff tried to upsell a rack of lamb, which I would happily have purchased and eaten, but when I asked if they could cook it with a herb crust, i was met with blank stares and then told no. How much easier can you get than a few chopped herbs mixed with olive oil and butter? That said, you really must try this restaurant if you are in Tacloban..
Kevin Freestone — Google review
Tonight we ordered Arrosto Misto with panroasted porkchop, seared chicken, beef in mushroom sauce, and glazed ribs. Each was tender and well seasoned. The ravioli was thick yet surprisingly refreshing due in no small part to the fresh herbs. For dessert we had both the tiramisu and tortino (lava cake). The tiramisu was rich; the coffee not too overly bitter. The lava cake was just as decadent, the outside crisp whilst retaining a velvety texture on the inside.

Great atmosphere and ambiance. The raviolis was very tasty but 6 raviolis is hardly a meal. Overall great experience. The wine selection was also good. The only negative is a persnickety owner who corrects employees from his permanent table. Honestly my favorite restaurant in Tacloban.

Focaccia was delicious. Highly recommend you try it out. Pizza was cheesy and the cheese stretch was very satisfying. They have a service where you choose which cut of steak you want the kitchen to cook for your dinner however we were not given this service while others got it so kind of disappointed about it plus, the steak we got did not come medium rare like we asked and had too much fat. Would come back for the focaccia but not for the steak.

Wonderful second experience there, lunch this time. Great food, fast and very attentive wait staff. Lapu Lapu and fantastic hand made burger. Carapaccio appetizer was perfect. Canoli dessert was nice, creamy and just right.

Probably the best restaurant in Tacloban. Good food and great ambience. Would recommend this wine and ordering the steak as beef is hard to come by in this part of the country. Lamb Lasagna special is bomb. Most consistent restaurant here 🙌

15 classmates from elementary got together because 3 from the US were on vacation. We all enjoyed the delicious food.😋😋😋 Both Asian and Filipino. Service was good. Food was served on time. The spot we chose was good enough that we didn't "disturb" the rest of the diners. We surely enjoyed our lunch together🥰We parted ways happy and contented. 🥰🙏🫰.

Took me some time to find out what was the weird taste on my pizza. Slowly realized it taste rotten. Took off the sausage and (me, coming from a butcher family) could see that the sausage was partially rotten. Took off the sausage and tried to finish the pizza cause i was very hungry, but couldnt finish it. Just some minutes after we left my stomach didnt feel good and become painful, think thats because u already ate some of these sausages... The Ramen was good there, but i cant recommend the pizza

Food was fine but sadly not all were served at the same time. We were only three people with no fancy orders and it still took almost 30 minutes in between the first and last order served which is a no go when you want to eat together. And for some reason the starters were served last...

Overall, we cannot praise the quality of the food and the service enough. Thank you both for making such a memorable and enjoyable experience.

I cannot express how satisfied I am when we dined in here. First of all the ambiance is very elegant yet cosy, the staff are very helpful when guiding us in their international menu. They have American, Filipino, Japanese, Itallian, Thai and Chinese cuisine. I am amazed at how they are maintaining such menu. We tried their Thai cuisine and let me tell you the food is superb! Their Pad thai is unforgettable, fresh and super tasty. They definitely have a happy cook in here because we just tasted a happy food. 5 stars for Q Kitchen. We'll definitely come back here.

Best meal and restaurant in tacloban. Hands down. Don’t even waste your time at Ocho, based on high google review scores like we did. Wish we found this place sooner than our last night bc we would have eaten here EVERY day. It’s that good. Reasonable prices by western standards. We really enjoyed, especially the house salad, lamb chops and kefidedes (stuffed meatballs). The tenderloin was tough though. Tasted more like a pot roast presented as a steak. Excellent service.

If you are in Tacloban City and you love Chinese and Thai dimsum, you have to try this. Their prices are a bit higher but definitely tastey and worth your money. Try their Siomai, Hakaw and Pad Thai! They are also in Food Panda!

Such an amazing experience. From its facilities, food, and its employees, they all have executed an extraordinary service to us. But one person which I really appreciate more was Mr. Yonnil Capiz at the kitchen Area who have entertained and served us flawlessly. Well, I can say he is so much ready to be given other tasks for he is so nice and which I think necessary that employees should embodies what an employee should and must be. Hoping to have the same person like him in my next hotel visit or even if would have a chance again to check-in in this hotel. Salute to you young man, Mr. Yonnil Capiz!

Located in downtown Tacloban, FyZZ Gastropub is situated on the rooftop of Hotel XYZ. This upscale establishment offers a fantastic view of the city and provides a luxurious dining experience. The venue attracts patrons from the middle and upper classes who are willing to spend more for great music, delicious food, and an overall enjoyable atmosphere. Celebrated Christmas dinner at FyZZ and had the opportunity to visit with Santa. Food here is consistently delicious and service is excellent. Dinner was Beef Salpicao, English Fish and Chips, Crispy Chicken Skin and Potato Wedges. Fish was Beer battered and fried perfectly. Fish was fresh and delicious; fries were perfect. Beef Salpicao had a great flavor, was tender and was a generous portion. Chicken skin was lightly breaded then fried until crispy. Potato wedges were tender on the inside and crispy on the outside. Both were well seasoned. Dessert was Molten Chocolate cake with ice cream. Very, very delicious.

This is the best restaurant to ever go there. It may almost have a similar menu like Q-Kitchen and ABC Cafe but they have the best options that this restaurant has to offer.

Food was superb. I've tried their Gyro and Osso Buco Pasta. They also have American and other Greek food. A bit pricey by definitely worth the money. Please take note that this like a resto bar so expect some loud/disco music. Not really a great place if you want to have a conversation over dinner. But if you are ok with a little bit of noise, all their food choices are definitely must try!

I’m a regular at Fyzz mostly in part of its diverse menu. Ordered the Salomos Angel Hair recently. The plating was a little sloppy and the sauce was too salty. However the ambiance was good.

I apologize for the low-quality pictures. I have visited Dream Cafe on multiple occasions and can attest to the consistently delectable food they offer. The service provided is also exceptional, making it a definite recommendation. Additionally, I highly recommend trying their whiskey sour cocktail. Tacloban is fortunate to have this establishment as it provides excellent value for money with its well-prepared Filipino and Western dishes using authentic ingredients.
Everything on the menu has been excellent. The pizza in particular is really well done with heaping toppings. It's also the only place I've found that can serve a good chilled salad.

One of the cool dining places in Tacloban downtown area. The place is welcoming and the staffs are very courteous. The menu is primarily dominated by Pinoy foods. Not so satisfied with how the food taste though, thus the rating of 3 stars only.
