Museums
The New Orleans Museum of Art is a large and prestigious art museum located in the southern end of City Park. It has a stupendous sculpture garden and a collection that spans over 40,000 pieces.
Went on a late Tuesday morning, it was empty 😁. We got spend a good amount of time absorbing the work. So much art to take in, I could've spent all day in each room. The building itself is exquisite and gorgeous. The top floor is my favorite, if you see nothing else, go to the top floor. Overall, I have a wonderful experience.

Had some time available and the museum was open until 7 on Wednesday. We had very limited time. We asked what to look at and they recommended the second floor. It was perfect! All kinds of art! Also, they were a reciprocal for our DAM membership. Thank you!

Seen a lot of city Museums but this one does get a 5 star rating for the grounds around it with the largest outdoor sculpture park I have ever been too. The inside exhibits were nice and range from the typical European art to some local art and historical time pieces. The Cafe is also worth the 5 star rating as we had a very good meal while visiting and sat overlooking the sculpture and lakes surrounding the Museum. Staff was helpful.

This is an absolutely wonderful place to visit! The exhibit rooms are open and large enough to allow for social distancing while still enjoying each exciting exhibits. There are diverse collections that will appeal to many different age groups. Everyone in the family will enjoy this museum!

I was pleasantly surprised at how amazing this museum was! Not only was it HUGE with three giant floors, but the many exhibits were varied and expansive. There were artifacts from all around the world and tons of paintings in different styles from a variety of artists. They even had a “Louisiana” room which was so cool to see!

Come here just for the garden if you don’t like to go inside a museum! But you have to see this amazing place ❤️. You can see so many sculptures and pieces of arts . Live a donation and enjoy a couple of hours of your day walking around this amazing park.

Amazing museum and sculpture garden you can easily spend 3-4 hours here. Really makes an effort to be inclusive and frame the artworks in a historical contest without it becoming the sole focus. Number one attraction in New Orleans!
Julian Miller — Google review
This museum is one of the finest attractions in New Orleans. Located in City Park adjacent to the Big lagoon, with one of the finest sculpture gardens in the country immediately behind the museum, you can easily spend from sunup until sundown I never go farther than a quarter-mile from the. My photography can't do justice to the works indoors but I hope the works pictured here, from the sculpture garden and the reflecting pool immediately in front of the museum, will entice you to explore.

We enjoyed touring the large outdoor sculpture museum. Inside, I especially enjoyed the spotlit glittery art piece at the staircase landing that draws your eye as you enter the beautiful building. Another piece of eye candy is the gold “log cabin,” where I joined other museum goers in finding the iPhones and other everyday objects that had been incorporated into the interior. Next to a portrait of William Morris were interesting notes about his role as America’s first Superintendent of Finance. My husband and I had a fun conversation with one of the staff, Linda, a charming New Orleans native. Free parking on the Lelong Drive/Esplanade Avenue entrance to the museum was easy and free, where we were greeted by a duck from the nearby lake.

the most extraordinary sculpture garden i have ever been too! the museum is great too but wow the sculpture garden, every big name you can think of has a piece in there! not to mention rhetorical exquisite landscape architecture! highly recommend to locals and visitors alike

Come and see. Not the biggest art collection, but certainly a good profile, with engaging art and we'll presented. The luxurious building supports the collection nicely. Come for the cafe, which offers an amazing variety of sweets and lunch dishes with a twist, such as Egypt inspired pasta or Doberge cake, under a sparkling dome of glass in modern chairs. Don't forget the adjacent sculpture park, one of the best I have ever seen.
Hubert Schwarthoff — Google review
A really varied and interesting collection of art. It is well laid out and there is lots of space in the galleries. Each gallery is well put together with a theme, and each artwork has good details and information next to it. Really helps you to appreciate everything. Particular highlights for me were works by Kandinsky and the Japanese art. The sculpture park next door is amazing and definitely worth the time to wander around.

This New Orleans Art Museum has the perfect size to visit and #exploreNOMA in a few hours. The setting is spacious and elegant, embedded in the lush greenery of City Park. I loved seeing works of art that I had only seen in books before. To meet them in person was like seeing a long lost friend. I appreciated the diversity of the artists, the socially-conscious messages, and art from ancient times to the contemporary era. Definitely looking forward to artist talks and attending more events! Thank you for making art accessible to Louisiana residents on Wednesdays!

We found the New Orleans Museum of Art is surprisingly large and with a wide variety of exhibits. They have beautiful works from the renaissance, impressionist and modern art, all in separate galleries. The furniture exhibits are great and there is so much more. It’s three stories of wonderful art and a very nice small cafe.

Fantastic place to spend the day. The trolley will take you from downtown right to the Museum. The grounds are spectacular with a wide variety of exhibits. It has several nice eating establishments.

The sculpture garden is the most beautiful place on this planet. How these great works of art are incorporated into this dramatic landscape and incredible nature is just fantastic. We had the best quiet time here after Burbon street!
LORETA KOVACIC — Google review
Another great art museum to visit in the Gulf Coast region. Periods and cultures throughout history were represented, and many of the art world's "big names" are hanging in the museum galleries. The building is massive and the staff was very friendly.
Jack Sweeney — Google review
We discovered a good balance of post-modern, tribal, Eastern, and Western antiquity art and artifacts at NOMA. Probably something for everyone in a well laid out and aesthetically pleasing space. It wasn't too crowded for a weekend either; I never experienced any perception of "crowdedness" and could enjoy looking and reading. The sculpture garden was fun and bizarre; no matter what you think of it it will be a pleasant walk amongst old oaks.
Derek Benson — Google review
Great museum featuring a diverse range of artwork from various time periods and countries. There are three floors plus a café and gift shop. I was able to get through the museum in about two hours without reading a bunch of the descriptive notes for each piece - so plan to spend a lot more time here if you plan on doing that.
Matt Smith — Google review
Wonderful art museum located in City Park! Admission was reasonable ($20 for non-LA residents), and well worth the price. This museum is much larger than it looks and has a variety of exhibits. You could easily spend a few hours here wandering through all the rooms and reading about all the beautiful pieces. We didn't get through everything during our visit, and I would definitely go back the next time we're in NOLA.
Kathy Johnson — Google review
Welcoming from the front-desk & beyond, inviting visitors to enjoy vibrant exhibitions & permanent displays. The book / gift store is definitely worth browsing and the cafe is perfect to rest between galleries while enjoying a great coffee. Walk (45-60 mins) from Canal Street or take the streetcar. Enjoy!

Often called the Crown Jewel of New Orleans, the French Quarter is one of NOLA's most historic neighborhoods. But you'll find plenty of new mixed in with the old. There’s a reimagined French Market, modern boutiques and artisan cocktails mix with beloved antique stores and old restaurants. (Antoine’s. Arnaud’s. Galatoire’s. Brennan’s – the world would be far less flavorful without you!)

Historical, many beautiful sights, lots of rivers, warm-inviting-friendly culture with a variety of foods such as alligator bites, frog legs, and dessert favorites apple beignets. Live music such as jazz, blues, cajun, zydeco and more. Horse carriage rides. Many shops to pick up a souvenir. There's also a great flea market to do your shopping. Many places to grab a bite or walk into a small bar and have a drink. There's Riverboat cruises anywhere from 2-3 hours just for the sightseeing or you can do a brunch or dinner cruise. We really enjoyed the houses in the Garden District. We ate lunch at The Original French Market Restaurant and Bar for lunch. I'd give that restaurant a 4 star. The service was great and the food was very enjoyable. For dinner we went to The Gumbo Shop. The prices were a surprise for the quality of the food and the excellent service we received. It was a more upscale dining experience. I'd give it a 5 star.

My husband and I took the St. Louis #1 cemetery tour on a recent weekend trip. We really enjoyed the tour, and we appreciated the information provided. However, we had no idea when we signed up that the pandemic had closed the cemetery. This wasn’t mentioned on the website or on the link to purchase tickets. Upon arriving for the tour, us and the others on the tour were informed that we couldn’t go in, and that the company tried to make it clear on the website. As no one in our group of around 10 people were aware, I would say it’s not clear enough. We even went back on the website and still couldn’t find a mention of that. The tour itself was very informative, and it’s obviously not this company’s fault that the cemetery is closed. But it should have been made extremely clear that we would not be able to enter the cemetery.
Sarah Kennedy — Google review
Jamie, our tour guide for the St. Louis Number one cemetery was awesome! He was extremely knowledgeable about the French Quarter and the cemetery itself. We learned so much from him and we appreciated that he didn't exaggerate any of the history. Wonderful experience!
Ashley Denomme — Google review
Need to be a little more clear about the fact that you don’t get to walk through the cemeteries. The description on Groupon says “view the cemetery” which can be mistaken as being able to go in. Also, being told when you’re at the meeting spot when you’ve made time to go on a tour, it’s hard to say no at that point. All that being said, the tour was great and our guide, Casey, was super informative and gave us a lot of insight into the city and it’s history. Definitely worth $10 and 90 minutes of your time.

War museum
Museums
The National WWII Museum tells the story of World War II from the perspective of America and her Allies. It is located in New Orleans, Louisiana because the Higgins boats were invented and manufactured here. The museum includes extensive exhibits on both the European and Pacific theaters of the war, as well as a special section on D-Day.
One of the most incredible museums that I have experienced and I've been to most in DC, NYC and Philly. This one is much more interactive and tells amazing stories. The staff were kind and extremely helpful. The layout made the museum the most accessible ♿ from any that I experienced. The cost of the tickets were fair and you'll spend enough time to make it worth it. We enjoyed all of the exhibits but especially enjoyed the planes and old vehicles. Our son who is <2 years old was engaged most of the time which made it easy to manage him while enjoying. I highly recommend this to anyone even if you are not a history expert!
Robert J Rodgers — Google review
What an incredible experience. Always wanted to go but a friend who just went highly recommended it. We went as a family of four and got to meet an actual world or to Gunner. Being able to talk to him and listen to the stories was worth the visit by itself. One of the most interactive museums I've ever been to including the 4D theater. I highly recommend that if you are on the fence and interested in the history you must go! Be prepared to spend a minimal of 2 to 3 hours to experience everything at the museum.
JJ Tarno — Google review
Well done museum. There are a lot of great exhibits. The Boeing room was a definite highlight. They have several WWII era military planes hanging in the room with observation walkways at a couple levels, including above the planes, to allow you to see the planes from different perspectives. It was really cool. The museum is housed in multiple buildings. If you want to see everything, you will need to plan on being there for an entire day, or two.
Curtis Olsen — Google review
Really, really great museum!!! The price of admission is steep, but it is definitely worth it!!! If you are a history buff and want to see everything, then plan on the two days. Also, the 4D theater is definitely worth the $7. I am excited to finish my tour and hopefully come back some day!!! Wonderful museum!!!
Andrew George — Google review
Oh my goodness!! This was the best museum I have experienced in a while, and I mean EXPERIENCED! This is definitely a day to remember, block out the entire day and experience this exhibit. You will thank me later! I will be back because I didn't block a chunk. They do offer a come back to finish ticket for $12 within 7 days of your original ticket. I had to do that but I still don't think I saw everything. This place is massive and chock full of memorabilia and information. I can not stress enough TAKE YOUR TIME and enjoy!
Tabatha Michele Grimes (TMGazelle) — Google review
I don't know where to even start!! This museum exceeds all expectations!! If you have a veteran in your family or are one yourself it is a must see place!! Every aspect is well done! Follow a story of a soldier. Start by boarding a train... the Pacific theater was amazing, the airplanes on display are amazing, D-day was amazing... the list is endless! You will easily spend 3 hours here so be prepared!!
Evan Houghton — Google review
I had a wonderful time and I cannot wait to go back. The museum was clean and very well thought being able to go around and actually understand what the war was all about. They also separated what happened in the Pacific and in Europe, which was very surprising to me with the way they did it. It was a very special place and my children really enjoyed themselves. If you are in New Orleans, this is a great museum to go to.
JayL — Google review
Super incredible experience. It was well done, lots of interesting facts about details I have never thought of. You could get a card (looks like a gift card) about a soldier and follow his journey throughout the entire building. Something everyone should do if possible. I highly recommend it. My 11 year old was very interested the whole time.
Tami Smith — Google review
A great experience for family and friends. Various information boards with displays about different aspects of World War 2. They have two floors of various displays and information to help you truly understand World War 2 from the beginning to the end. There is also a 4D theater that speaks about World War 2 and makes you feel the impulse of being there. I highly suggest that you visit and enjoy it. This is great for family and friends. A genuine experience for anyone of all ages. ENJOY!

Amazing museum. Make sure you give yourself tons of time to take it all in. I spent about 4.5 hours and easily could have spent a couple more (if not the entire day). Really enjoyed the movie clips integrated into the exhibits and the atmosphere the museum creates moving from room to room. Museum staff take your picture as you enter, this is for photos that you can choose to purchase later with different backgrounds (like planes, ambulances, Rosie the riveter and the museum itself). If this might be a souvenir you'd like to purchase, thinking about a dynamic pose for the shot they take will likely look better than the type of photo you'd take for getting an ID. Also, I counted 3 gift shops including an entirely stand alone shop next to the museum so if you are looking for the perfect momento, make sure you take time to look through all 3. The museum is absolutely worth as much time as you can give it.
Mary Langan — Google review
If you only do one thing in New Orleans, visit the WW2 museum. It is FANTASTIC. The exhibits are thoughtful, and the layout of the museum is easy to navigate and follows good narratives. Highly recommend grabbing a "Dog Tag" and watching the oral histories. Also, it's a huge museum, and if you want to see everything in-depth, you'll need about 6 hours, but it's well worth it. I already know I'm going to come back someday, and hopefully soon.
Nia Schenk — Google review
I walk by and saw the building, return the next day with enough time to spare, arrived 11am. Make sure you have about 4 hrs to visit and before it closes. I learn a lot about the minorities that serve in the Army during WWII, Their collection of items is rich and valuable. The navigation can be complicated within the building but the museum volunteers are eager to help. Cost is affordable. Never forget history, cause it may return. Highly recommended.
Marilu Carvallo — Google review
Very thorough. Lots to read and view. Biggest critique is that it doesn't flow naturally. Hard to tell when to go from one exhibit to the next in sequence. And was hard to tell when the exhibit ended and where the exit was. Other than that, this is a top-notch museum with excellent exhibits. Lots to do. Could easily spend 5 hours here but a minimum of 2 is suggested.
Kenneth Baker — Google review
Amazing day long visit; so many things to see in a number of buildings. Video presentations help bring to life those that were rescued as well as those that fought and were there to liberate those in concentration camps. Great place and I definitely will go back.
LJ Gorton — Google review
The National WWII museum is very good and loaded with a lot of information and a lot of collections of artifacts from World war II. Please take tickets in advance. It eases your entry procedure. The train ride is so cool. Don't try to understand it, just feel it. Take a map of the museum. Halls 2 and 3 are the heart of the museum. They consume most of your time. 4 to 7 are skim through. The timings mentioned on the Google Maps are correct. It took us 3 hours to get a good tour. If you are really interested in learning more about WWII, please dedicate one complete day for this museum tour. I didn't go to the theatres, cz we didn't have time to cover them. But at a $11 additional cost, you can get two shows. Parking is really economical on Magazine Street for this museum.
Sathwik Ram — Google review
What an amazing place! You'll need multiple days if you want even a remote chance of seeing even most of it. I could have easily spent 5 days here. If you're a WWII aficionado, this is a must visit! Prices are reasonable, it's clean & tidy and there are on site food places, that are pretty good! We stayed at a hotel that was within walking distance, and I think this is the best way to do it. Make sure you visit this when you're in the area.

The National WWII Museum is an incredible and immersive experience from start to finish. The museum has curated an amazing collection of artifacts and interpretive materials, then presented them in a coherent format suitable for nearly any visitors. We especially loved the Boeing Gallery with full size aircraft and vehicles on display. So glad to have finally gotten to visit this wonderful facility.
Jack Sweeney — Google review
Amazing and important place. The greatest generation and the greatest war are well represented here. So much to see that spending 6 to 8 hours is reasonable, so if able, make multiple trips. Recommend getting the dog tag of a true life participant so you can follow their journey. Clever info stations are available throughout. This place gives a fitting tribute to all of the people who helped and sacrificed, each in their own ways. Plenty of artifacts and Building 5 has a great collection of aircraft. Highest recommendation.
Brian Mercer — Google review
This museum is a must-do, and make sure to plan a large chunk (if not the whole day) of your time! Every time I visit this museum it has grown, and the exhibits are beautiful, immersive, interactive and humbling. We ate at the restaurant, which was great (the sweet tea was perfection). They also have a soda shop which is super cute, and wonderful gift shops. Definitely visit and take your time! I don't want to *spoil* much with my photos, but I'll add a couple and an obligatory food shot from lunch!
Brianna (Bri_and_LD on Twitch) — Google review
Favorite WWII museum yet! I thoroughly enjoyed reading everything I could and the experiences are so immersive it’s very captivating. The dog tag part was confusing for us and they didn’t work the way we thought they were supposed to so we kind of just forgot about them. The staff were all incredibly helpful and involved. At one point I lost my tag and we had to double back to get a new one but they were quick to help! I’d absolutely return to continue reading. The catwalk to view the planes and the D-Day exhibit was a huge favorite!
Xaerie Namnori — Google review
I can't believe how much there is to do here. You will easily spend the majority of your day here. Plan for several hours. There are 4 major buildings to go through, and each will take well over an hour to see. You probably could spend multiple days here if you are interested in the history. Very interactive and one of the highest quality museums I've been to.
Nicholas Redding — Google review
I had no interest in coming here as history is my least favorite subject, but I was tagging along with my friend. I think the price is reasonable for how much you're getting. There was still plenty of interesting stuff to see and it was set up in a way that the information was easily attainable in many forms. There were a number of exhibits, but the entire museum is very well done. Lots to learn and be interested in, even for those who don't want to take the deep dive.
Cassidy Dalton — Google review
Don't miss out on this! It is an incredible experience. We were amazed. I hope to come back again someday. We came on a Saturday morning. We didn't buy advance tickets but got right in. Only a few people ahead of us in the ticket line. Pace yourself so you have enough time for all the buildings. We spent too much time in building 1 and then had to rush thru other areas that I wish I had more time for. The movie was definitely worth the extra expense but does take an hour so plan for that.
Kelly Sonntag — Google review
This is definitely my personal favorite museum (I've never been to la Louvre though). You can spend all day here and still not be able to see/read everything. I've been twice, and I'll definitely be going again!
Cooper Deupree — Google review
One of the best museums I have visited, one of the main reasons I visited New Orleans, and well worth the price of admission. It is huge, so either be prepared to spend the whole day there or have to come back the next day (they offer discounted tickets if you want to visit a second day, which I haven’t seen at many museums). I did not have the chance to try their food but it looked good and the prices were reasonable for a museum, and they had multiple spots to eat on their campus. A true must see for history lovers, or well everyone.
Jacob Floyd — Google review
Amazing and detailed experience covering all aspects of World War II. I spent 4 hours going through all the content here and it could easily take much more time if you really want to read and see it all. There are lots of unique exhibits, displays, individual stories, movies, and media to cover the history. I paid $35 for a standard ticket and walked to the museum from the French Quarter.
Devin Hobby — Google review
What an experience! The WWII Museum is an incredibly huge six building campus with so much to see, you could easily spend the entire day here if you're a huge history buff. Honestly, you could spend multiple days here if you really took in everything! There are so many static exhibits, as well as interactive experiences. We went with the plan to only spend two hours at the museum and we had to skip so many exhibits and experiences. I highly recommend sitting in the small booths throughout the complex which allow you to listen to people's first hand accounts of their experiences. Hearing these soldier's speak about Omaha Beach was especially incredible! Pro Tip: If you don't plan on paying for any of the interactive exhibits, there's still one you can do for free on the bottom floor of the Boeing Aircraft exhibit. It's an interactive submarine simulator which tells the incredible story of the SS Tang which sunk 33 enemy ships in only five missions. Totally worth checking out!
Mr3dPHD — Google review
The best museum experience ever! Plan on two full days. This place is so well done. Highly recommended attending both movies. The focus is on the people who fought the battles and lived through the horrors. The short video detailing the discovery of and liberation from the concentration camps was so good I watched it twice over my two days.

- [ ] This is one of the largest museums I’ve visited that were focused on one main purpose. The museum is so large that you can probably spend an entire day going through it and really diving into the history and artifacts. My husband is very into military history and this was definitely one for the books. I can say that as Veterans ourselves, this museum truly honors all of the people whom served in WWII and help in telling their stories and teaching younger generations the true history behind all of it. The displays and layout are so incredible! They really take you back into the past and help you visualize what everyone involved went through and experienced.

Extremely amazing museum. Very clean with plenty of volunteers to answer questions or show you where to go. There is a mix of short clip movies and photos along with real paperwork in areas to show how they were during the war. There is a gift shop and a small pub style restaurant. A lot of walking so wear your good shoes. Restrooms in each area and floors. If you’re unable to walk, they offer free wheelchairs. Very informative. A must see.
Christina Hernandez — Google review
This museum is fantastic. Honestly it is huge. If you are a WWII buff like me, it will take you a day and a half to 2 days to go through it thoroughly, reading everything and watching most of the video testimonials. It is great for an overview. Certain battles like D-Day and the Guadalcanal campaign are covered in greater detail. I wish that they had more vehicles and planes but overall still pretty good.
JJ Bechtel — Google review
The National WWII Museum has done a great job creating their exhibits. Each one transports you to a specific place and time. They did a great job capturing the essence of time through the use of furniture, art, music, effects, videos and displays. It truly is a remarkable setup. At times it felt like we were entering a different world. The dog tag experience was appreciated because it allowed us to follow a veteran's war experience as we moved from exhibit to exhibit. We followed a Native American soldier and an African American soldier. It gave a life significance. It is a large museum with multiple buildings but with accessible pathways. My wife and I navigated all areas without a problem. We missed the 4D experience and were refunded for it, but do try it as it was directed by Tom Hanks. It's only $11 with admission. The museum volunteers and employees were super helpful. They are essential to making your navigation of the museum successful. The best part of our experience was the private 2-hour curator tour. It is offered once a month to a limited group of 10 people. It is $250 pp but it is worth the price, especially because you get close and personal with the collection. We bought all our tickets in advance. The curator's knowledge is extensive. He's mindful of his audience in adapting the tour. Chase is an exceptional curator. He balanced technical facts about the private collections with sociopolitical and psychological information to help his audience make sense of the culture, climate, pressures and requirements of the time. His view was multifaceted and not ethnocentric to the American experience. We appreciated this museum's effort to shed light on all issues.
Giorgio Jovani di Salvatore — Google review
This is a very big WWII museum that has two buildings each with three floors. Many different exhibits in chronological order that depict the war in many details. Lots of documentaries shown in the exhibits along with other displays. Very intriguing to spend at least half a day or an entire day to even glance through. We have heard that the Beyond Boundaries show is great but we didn't pay a visit. One thing is that kids need to be old enough to fully understand the concepts of war, weapons, and heavy topics like death. Educative experience overall!

Wear your walking shoes, this place is huge. Plan on being there for about six hours. With over 250,000 pieces, be ready for an emotional and educational day. The movie is an hour long, in case you want to buy a two-day pass. I love that they have sensory Saturday at the end of the month!

Cathedral
Sights & Landmarks
The Cathedral of Saint Louis King of France is a prominent and historic landmark on Jackson Square in the French Quarter of New Orleans. Constructed in 1789, it has been extensively rebuilt and renovated over the years and today houses an active congregation. The church is also a great place to people watch, as it contains several historical landmarks like The Cabildo, The Presbytere, and Preservation Hall.
The St. Louis Cathedral located on Jackson Square is a great location for a of you who want to visit a local landmark. We visited during their construction and remodeling which was a little annoying to not know as most of the roof and the ceiling work covered in scaffolding which took away from the full ambience. Another thing it really was interesting is the arch catcher is absolutely gorgeous but then there’s certain spots where you can dip your credit card in to pay for donations and things that just took away from the experience a bit. They do have rosaries you can buy which were very beautiful and I wish I would’ve gotten one. The frescos on the ceiling are currently partially visible but for the most part not really.

I love this Cathedral. On the north side, outside, the shadow of the Jesus statue is formidable. Inside is immaculate. It is open to all. Come. Sit down a moment and take in all of the splendor. It is breath taking even for someone like me who despises religion, but the religious do create magnificent places for them to feel pious.

This gorgeous Catholic Church was originally built in 1718. After massive fires across New Orleans destroyed the church, it was rebuilt under Spanish rule in 1789 with the classic Spanish style triple peak. This is the oldest continually run cathedral in the United States. Along the ceiling of the inside of the chapel is an amazing massive mural which alone makes the church worth visiting.

Four stars for group of people and/ single performance to show their talents in front of St. Louis Cathedral and between, Jackson square, beside Louisiana State museum. They're really great and amazing!! Paintings made by native New Orleaners are perfect and they're talented to their gifts. It's just the church itself is closed during our visit. Hoping to have an opportunity to sit inside and to listen a homily in a whole mass.

My husband and I were in New Orleans during the holy week. I have always wanted to visit the Cathedral. It has always been synonymous with the city. I love the open door policy. You may come in and take pictures. It is breathtaking!!! I was fortunate enough to attend Easter services. There is a lovely gift store where you can purchase rosaries, crosses and other religious items.

A very beautiful catholic church with open doors for anyone. Ornate paintings on the wall and ceiling and very fine stained glass work in the windows. Father onsite to take your confession with many opportunities to buy candles and donate to the upkeep of the church.

Beautiful church in the heart of the French Quarter in New Orleans. Nice mass, beautiful and vivid paintings inside. Outside, you may get "entertained" by the detractors of the Catholic church. Also, you'll see tables with voodoo dolls and cards. Interesting contrast. Scaffolding is up inside March+ 2022.

A beautiful building and a peaceful, prayerful atmosphere inside. It’s free to go in and look around. There is a lot to see inside, with art, stained glass, sculpture, memorials. It would be good if there was a bit more information around to read and get to know the history a bit better, but I understand that this is primarily a place of worship more than a place for interested tourists. If you want to go in to pray and light a candle, it is a lovely atmosphere to do that as well.

I’m glad we were able to stop in and take in the significance and history of this cathedral. We got to go inside during the day and it was also great seeing it at night.

This is a beautiful functioning catholic cathedral. It has a gorgeous mural on the ceiling with impressive painted/ stained glass along the sides. Please maintain reverence as you visit. The history is about as old as any church you'll find in the Americas.

In town for the week and was glad I was able to attend Mass at 9am on Sunday. This Cathedral is huge, beautiful and historical. Beautiful landscapes outside facing the Mississippi River. Enjoyed Mass here today, felt like one of the churches I grew up in New York (Blessed Sacrament). Definitely recommend stopping by even if it’s not for Mass. I believe the church is over 200 years.

I have mixed feelings on this one and a challenge for you. Likes: this church is very cool looking and is extremely photogenic. I didn't go inside in fear I may burst into flame, and I don't know if it's actually open to the public. Entertainment factor: it's literally surrounded by an army of crackheads and the final boss bum (possible general) will threaten you if you take "his" coins out of the nearby fountain. If you go in the late morning, you might be ok. He should be down for his crack nap around 930ish. My challenge to you: take a local tour that doesn't start, intermission, or stop at this location. Overall: I gave it a 5 because of the entertainment factor alone. There are some great restaurants around it, and you're gunna see it anyway. Don't use the benches if you are a tourist, those are reserved for the homeless.

St. Louis is the oldest cathedral in North America and is worth seeing for that reason alone. It’s a beautiful old church in a picturesque area of New Orleans and won’t cost you anything to stop in to at least take a peek. Peaceful in the morning before the Jackson Square area gets busy.

We took a day trip from harrahs Biloxi. It was 1and a half hour drive. Jackson Square is still beautiful! I hadn't been in twenty years.alot has changed. Not as many artists performing as there used to be. The cathedral was my focus on this trip. Very informative plaques about the church. Beautiful painted ceilings! Artifacts galore. Just a beautiful church! I was going to get community coffee and benieys at cafe du mond. But it's full of tourists now. The line was around the block. We used to just walk up and get em in the old days. All in all nice going back to one of my old hangouts.

If you have a chance to go inside, you should. The St. Louis Cathedral is the oldest cathedral in continuous use in the United States alongside the Royal Presidio Chapel in Monterey, California. It is beautiful inside and out.

I popped into St. Louis Cathedral gorgeous church for the second time this past Sunday. The priest and the readings were so moving, they left me totally lost for words! And let's not forget about that awesome family prayer - it was simply incredible!

Beautiful representation of faith and architecture. Free access. Spent about 30 minutes here. Was a good way to introduce our kids into a different way of approaching faith. Many saints stopping by to pray. Faith, Hope and Charity’s depiction on the sanctuary is absolutely beautiful.

We visited New Orleans on one of the coldest days ever, and it worked out in our favor. The cathedral was practically empty when we visited, so we were able to walk around and truly absorb the beauty within.

The oldest continuously operating church in North America. It’s spectacular beautiful. Services were wonderful when we visited. 5 pm mass on Saturday evening wasn’t crowded. Oh, and the pipe organ is beautiful too.

Creole restaurant
Commander's Palace, a renowned establishment since 1880, is known for its refined Creole cuisine and elegant jazz brunch in a beautifully adorned space. Recently, Chef Meg Bickford took the helm as the first female executive chef in its long history. She has brought innovation to the restaurant's traditional Haute Creole dishes while introducing new creations.
Wonderful dinner with dear friends for the Sunday brunch. As a vegetarian, they were very accommodating with a veggie and faro dish. The strawberry salad was quite flavorful with candied pecans. We enjoyed the jazz band and second line. The soufflé was very flavorful. Great ambience and helpful staff. It was a little pricey, but high quality food. The coffee was fresh and warm. A great experience!

A beautiful experience. I cannot say enough about how wonderful the service was. The entrees were layered with flavor. The gumbo was a bit too salty, and I didn’t care for the whiskey on the bread pudding soufflé. I thought it would be cooked but it wasn’t and ruined it for me, but that is personal. Same thing with the turtle soup—the sherry poured into straight from the bottle destroyed the taste. But I’m sure there are people who love alcohol who would give it an extra star for that.

Just a fantastic experience… It is not only nostalgic but exquisite food and exceptional service. Loved the band that was walking around.... We asked for when the Saints go marching in, and they gladly accommodated our request. Again, food, exquisite, turtle soup, pecan and crusted fish, and the crawling bread pudding ! Only in one month and will be going there twice!!

Great food! The executive chef (Chef Meg) Has assembled a great kitchen staff that know how to get the best flavors out of food. The prices are surprisingly not that expensive. They do have a dress code it is business casual no shorts no open-toed shoes. Well worth the visit if you are in the New Orleans area. The building is over 139 years old and absolutely beautiful.

Very classy restaurant. Everyone was very nice and polite. Four adults and four kids (3-8yrs). I had the pecan crusted fish and it was tasty along with the sauce it came with. Pork belly was also good, very tender. Kids had small steak with fries and veggies. Strawberry shortcake was good.

Wow. Already an experience. Food presentation was second to none. Atmosphere with musicians were perfect. Service was impeccable with very friendly workers everywhere…made me feel like they mistook me for someone important. Turtle soup was perfect, shrimp dish was also great. Now for a couple of cons. Two guest in our party had to return steaks because they were well done and ordered med rare. My blacken fish was in the form of a fried patty like a crab cake. Was not my favorite. Valet parking was a great convenience especially with continued crime in NOLA but we felt very safe there. ( steaks were redone with many apologies)

10/10 the best restaurant in New Orleans! Our waiter Keith went over and beyond for me to make sure my vegan meal was amazing! He had them specially prepare me an entree off the menu they was so delicious and had a smoky flavor that I don’t think I’ve ever had while I was vegan! The soup of the day was superb and the raspberry sorbet was delicious! Absolutely recommend for anyone vegan and non vegan looking for a fancy dinner or just good quality food! Everyone in our 18 person group gives this place 5 stars!

One of the best old-standing restaurants in New Orleans. I came here for the jazz brunch with my wife and everything was phenomenal. They sat us on the top floor that overlooks Washington street and try to get that if you can, it’s beautiful. The food, the service, and the musicians. I highly recommend the pecan-crusted fish as the entree, it was light, delicious and flaky. The turtle soup was among the top two of all the restaurants I tried. If you drink, the espresso martini is one of the best I’ve ever had. If you’re coming to NOLA, make this a priority for brunch. I’m sure the dinner here is spectacular as well.

It's obvious that everything at Commander's is going to be great. BUT, I want to point out a most under-rated menu item: The Commander’s Crisp Romaine Salad. Such basic ingredients, but so tasty that I forget that it is only the salad course and nearly get full devouring it before the main course. It might sound crazy singing the praises of romaine lettuce on a plate, but whatever NOLA voodoo Commander's does to it makes it worthy. Seriously, give it a try and I'll sound slightly less wacky. :)

A NOLA classic that we couldn't miss. Unfortunately, we missed the quarter martinis which they apparently don't do on Sundays. Other than that big bummer, we had a delicious lunch. We did get to hear some live music from a band that wandered the dining room, which was lots of fun. The turtle soup is to DIE for, it's just so damn good. We really enjoyed this meal and it is well worth a second visit, which we'll be sure to hit the quarter martini lunch.

Came here for a company dinner while visiting New Orleans for a business conference and had the best experience. First the service was exceptional. Our server was professional, charming, engaging and knowledgeable. I wish I remembered her name but I won't forgot the service she provided. I loved the way they came out and plated at the same time or in a specific sequence. Just made things that more special. Now on to the food. So damn good! I ordered the Turtle Soup and loved it. It was so rich and tangy and I really liked the texture of Turtle meat. The center cut Filet was my main and it was one of the best steaks I ever ate. I loved the crispy potatoes, leeks and sauce. Lastly, I had the Banana Pudding for dessert and it was decadent. My only regret was not ordering the Bread Pudding Souffle because my coworkers ordered it and said it was outstanding. This place is so well known and regarded and they definitely deserve the accolades in my books. I highly recommend this restaurant.

This is an amazing experience in my opinion. The food was great but the service was wonderful. Kendall took care of us but the entire time we were waiting on by multiple people and never once do you need to ask for wait staff as you are constantly taken care of. Highly recommend the bread pudding. During our jazz brunch the band went around to each table a let guests request a song and played the song for that table.

A Classic for a reason! Attended the jazz brunch during Halloween weekend and the vibe, service and food were excellent. First of all, the house Bloody Mary was one of the best I’ve had and pouring the vodka table side was so fun. Salad starter was tasty, I personally thought the soups my friends had were just ok. The pecan crusted fish was tender and juicy and the corn accent flavors paired well. The steak and pork main dishes also did not disappoint. As for the desserts, they were the ideal sweet ending- highly recommend the apple crumble one. Service was outstanding with the musicians being a bonus.

Definitely a special dining experience. Our party of four enjoyed everything from the martinis and wine, apps like escargot and gumbo, to our main dishes including the pork chop, red fish, and steak. The staff was friendly and attentive. The building is a beauty.

The food and drinks were excellent. I had the Turtle soap, pork chop and bread pudding. All were tasty. The service was very good. There are multiple dining rooms and expect to dress-up. You’ll also want reservations. Fancy dining and good food.

My friend and I had a lovely (albeit expensive) brunch here. The live jazz music was excellent, service was impeccable and the food was delicious. It's a good place to go if you're looking to treat yourself. Make sure to book a table in advance and remember there is a dress code in place.

We enjoyed our experience very much but had a big blunder after being seated and served water. Both of our water glasses had lipstick stains on them. We were surprised by this because of the stellar reviews and history that neither of our waitstaff thought to even look at the glasses before bringing them to our table. That was extremely disappointing! However, everything we ordered was spectacular. We had a great overall experience. They were very attentive and the ambience was very nice.

We had dinner at this place for our second wedding anniversary and everything went well. The staff was friendly. The atmosphere was nice and more importantly the food was delicious BUT the reason for the 4 stars is because two of the items that I picked from the menu were not available anymore at that time! One of them was the fish plate which they didn’t have the one on the menu and we agreed to have a different type of fish. This restaurant requires reservations and with that being mentioned I believe there should be enough inventory to be able to serve the guests. Our reservation was at 7:30 so imagine if someone’s reservation is at 8:30-9 pm then probably there will be less items from the menu available. I would recommend this restaurant if you want to have a nice meal but consider reservation for an earlier time.

Commanders Place has been on our bucket list for a few years. It did not disappoint. When we walked in the door, we were treated as we were the only ones dining there for the evening. Service was amazing. The food was delightful, and we even got to walk through the open kitchen when leaving. I truly felt like a princess who was visiting by everyone who was working. Please go treat yourself to this amazing restaurant and amzing people.

What an amazing experience! Classy yet fun. Service was top notch, food was delicious, and drinks were strong (in a great way haha)! We even got a little mini tour of the open kitchen on the way out. I see why reservations are so hard to come by. This place is wonderful, all around.

This was a really cool and elegant place. The food was amazing and perfect proportions. We had 3 designated people to our little 4 table room so it was quite intimate. Our waiters were really friendly and attentive. It was worth the $$$.

We enjoyed our birthday dinner celebration. The ambiance was nice, and the service was great. Dylan and Aaron were both very attentive and helpful. Presentation of the food was also well done. We started with the Shrimp and Tasso Henican appetizer, which was very flavorful. Then I ordered the Creole Gumbo, which was a little salty. My wife ordered a strawberry salad, which had too much dressing, so request the dressing on the side. For the main entrees we ordered Pecan Crusted Gulf Fish and Quail. The crust on the fish was very salty, so we took it off. The fish itself was flaky and very good. The Quail was good, probably the better choice of the two entrees. For dessert we had strawberry short cake and cheese cake. Both were delicious! We also ordered cocktails and wine. Overall, it was an enjoyable evening.

What an amazing experience. Prior to my arrival, I walked through the garden district with a warm cup of coffee from a small cafe, which set the mood perfectly. I arrived a few minutes early for my reservation and was seated promptly. From start to finish I felt comfortable and relaxed, well cared for and seen. The 25c martinis are a delight, and while I loved every bite, your server will curate and tailor each moment to your own personal enjoyment. I was indecisive and went with the trio of soups.... The turtle soup is what many rave about, and I will, too! Delicious. The charred cauliflower was so flavorful, I know I'm going to dream about it. Lying on a bed of fresh arugula and tossed in a green goddess dressing beside pickled beets, every bite was intense and all future cauliflower will have to live up to this. Cast iron seared gulf fish followed. It was night and moist and lovely. There's a reason the pecan praline souffle has been on the menu for as long as it has. I don't think my words can do it justice. This one needs to be experienced. Enjoy a warm and somehow complex cup of brewed coffee with the souffle and sit back and be transported to a time when things were slower. This is a must do for anyone visiting New Orleans.

The service at this restaurant was impeccable, and the food prepared was outstanding. I failed to give the proper tip and felt compelled to provide a great review. This was a wonderful experience and worth every dollar spent. I wish I would have compensated Justin F and the staff more appropriately. Thank you all for a great night and for your extraordinary service. Much respect from an old Soldier.

Jazz Brunch at Commander's Palace is not a meal, it's a 3-course experience. The shrimp appetizer was small and disappointing but I can say that every other course we ordered didn't disappoint like that. I am a traditionalist when it comes to Caesar salad but their take on it was a worthy addition to the genre. The fish main course was very good but the beef short rib with a perfectly poached egg was the winner in the category. For dessert we had an excellent cheesecake, tall like New York style, cheesecake flavor, but a little less dense than normal. The souffle bread pudding was also very good. This leads us to the experience. The service was formal, attentive without being overbearing. The wandering jazz band was a blast when they came around & if they do a second line in your room, make sure to join in! It's really hard for a restaurant to maintain excellence for over 4 decades but Commander's Palace appears to be one of the few.

The food was amazing! This is legitimately a must try in NOLA. The service was superb, everything was well explained, and you're taken care of well from the moment you enter the moment you leave. I was lucky enough to try many things because we went with a large group and honestly everything was sooo good! The pork and steak were probably my most favorite items. Ending it with the pecan pie was just perfect.

Truly an incredible experience and one of the best meals I have ever had. The staff was absolutely amazing and they each were so on top of their roles it was a joy to watch. The drinks were delicious and creative and the food was incredible. If I had to recommend a dish I think the quail was the best bite of the night but the escargot, white shrimp and pork belly were all incredible.

Brennan's is a restaurant in the French Quarter of New Orleans famous for its Creole cuisine, sumptuous breakfasts, and decadent desserts like bananas Foster. It was founded in 1946 by local restaurateur Ralph Brennan, who continues to operate it today. The restaurant has a grande dame atmosphere and features an extensive menu of Creole dishes as well as some classic French Quarter favorites.
My all-time favorite restaurant in New Orleans. Brennan’s never disappoints. Treated like family from the very moment we walked in. Brennan’s has the best wait staff and bartenders in the city. Eric is the very best and his Attention to detail impeccable. If you haven’t made a reservation at Brennan’s what are you waiting for?

We just had one of the best meal(brunch) here in Nola! Jamie and the team answered every questions promptly and made great suggestions on food and drinks. We tried Gumbo in four different places and this is by far our favorite. The place, the food and the plates are very photogenic. They suggests us to have a look upstairs even if they’re not open for service on Monday. Thank you all of the staff there for giving us such a great experience!

Absolutely phenomenal brunch. Excellent food, libations, ambiance, and service. Reservations required. No parking. One small quibble- we had a 9AM reservation on a Sunday, arrived at 8:45AM and the doors didn't open until 9:10AM. Not a huge deal, but slightly annoying. The steak tartare and breakfast potatoes stood out amongst our excellent dishes. Their Nutty Irishman might be the best iteration of that drink I've ever had.

This is a superb restaurant, but get a reservation. It is super popular. The food is delicious. Even the brioche bread is excellent. The seafood is so tasty, especially the broiled oysters. The steak medallions are prepared table side and the preparation and presentation was unexpectedly entertaining. I had no idea Bananas Foster originated here so I had to try it and was not disappointed. Again the table side prep was so awesome. Definitely worth getting a reservation.

As a local, it took me long enough to visit this place. Their portions are not huge but it is gourmet food. It was definitely very filling though. The flavor of the food is top tier. A++ for atmosphere here at Brennan's! What an awesome looking place. So much detail with hand painted murals everywhere, colorful wall panels and moulding, and really cool lighting. A functioning player piano welcomes you as you enter the main lounge. So cool! I would recommend this place for ambiance alone but it turns out the service is fantastic and so is the food! This was one of the most fun restaurants we visited in New Orleans and it's definitely worth the trip in my opinion. Pro Tip: Get seated in the lounge if you want to listen to the player piano. Sit in the main dining room for the really fancy wall art. Both sections are awesome!

How could I have left without the banana foster!!! I walked in as a single diner. They were not busy at all, but it was clear they didn’t want any of the walk ins having a table at the infamous restaurant area, so it was myself, and about 5 other single people next to each-other at the bar. Of course, I would’ve been happier at a table, but I did understand it. It was actually lovely to get talking to people next to me about New Orleans, so I really enjoyed myself. Bar staff were very friendly and sweet.m, and helped me with the order since I’m British and completely new to Nola food! It was breakfast so I had the eggs hussarde which was heavenly. The best eggs/breakfast dish I’ve ever had. I also had the gumbo which is supposed to be incredible here. There’s no denying it was extremely tasty, but perhaps gumbo isn’t my thing? Overall, I would recommend this place as a great stop. @diningnotdashing

Great food, great service, great ambiance. It is a restaurant that, in spite of being big in the number of people it accommodates, still preserves a smaller atmosphere by having different rooms in the establishment. We were there for thanksgiving. Host comes to your table and asks about your experience. Now, keep in mind that this is not a casual restaurant, they post at the door no shorts, no “open shoes” for men, jackets encouraged in the evening. So, you get the idea. Excellent!!

To start off, this restaurant is gorgeous! The atmosphere is intimate yet lively and all of the staff is friendly, thoughtful, and inviting. My husband and I went there for brunch with no reservation and we had such a wonderful experience that we ended up making reservations for dinner for that same day! Dinner was absolutely phenomenal, I had the Trout Blangé and my husband had the Rabbitt Kottwitz and both were incredibly delicious. Flavors like we've never tasted before and a great taste of New Orleans cuisine. Our server Terry was incredible, top tier service, she was friendly, very knowledgeable, and had great recommendations and insight on the food and wine. I also have very complicated soy allergy and she was able to accommodate and recommend plenty of food that was safe for me. If you have a soy allergy this is a great place because most of the menu is soy-free friendly. Terry also made our table side strawberry crepes for dessert and they tasted incredible. Overall amazing dining experience! I can't wait to go back!

We have eaten at Brennan's many times over the years and it never fails to impress. This time we did something a little more low-key. We came in and just sat at the bar and had drinks and ate some small plates. The experience was amazing as it always it. It was neat to see a bit more of the back end experience and how incredibly hard everyone works to turn out such a flawless affair. If you've never been to Brennan's the brunch is incredible and dinner is incredible but sitting at the bar is an excellent experience unto itself.

Brennan is an old traditional, New Orleans French Quarter restaurant. their bananas. Foster is incredible, especially since they invented it. They prepare it for you table side. It is their specialty. They have a version of eggs Benedict that I got. It wasn’t as good as traditional, but they push that as their own version. I should have gotten the traditional. my wife simply got scrambled eggs with bacon and potatoes, which was really good. We spent with Tip, over $200 for three people, which was worth it as a once in a while experience. When you go to New Orleans, you have to go to Brennans. Make reservations otherwise you may wait in line for an hour.

Absolutely delightful! Our waiter was hilarious and very attentive. Everything we tried was delicious and flavorful. The food took awhile however we were with a large group so I felt it was a reasonable amount of time overall. Beautiful restaurant on the inside as well.

Spending several hours savoring an exquisite dinner in this historic restaurant is well worth it. Everyone raved about both the Turtle Soup and the Gumbo. The Smoked Scallops were a revelation - a nuanced hickory flavor without the heaviness of a bacon wrap. The Pork Tenderloin was perfect (barely medium rare) with a similar subtle smoky flavor. Hawaiian-style rolls are perfect for sopping up extra sauce. Of course, we had to have Bananas Foster, often imitated but the Brennan’s version is a flavor bomb that leaves you smiling.

Bananas Foster is a show stopper dessert created at Brennan’s. For my wife and I, a visit to the place where such a classic dessert began is meaningful in a gastronomic sense. I have enjoyed many desserts in my time, but key lime pie and Bananas Foster are at the top of my list. I used to always order key lime pie until I finally found the ultimate to know what the best tastes like. The same theory applied for me with Bananas Foster and the visit to 417 Royal Street in New Orleans’ French Quarter for a $12 order of Bananas Foster would put me in front of a bowl of a heavenly dessert I believed. After the very entertaining presentation by the staff and after the flames, I found Brennan’s Bananas Foster everything I had hoped for in a dessert. I don’t mean to carry on with a review of just one food item at such an incredible restaurant where many items are unbelievable, but I can’t help myself. I want you to have an opportunity to share the great foods of the world as well.

A change in plans led us to Brennan’s for my boyfriend breakfast brunch and we were impressed!!! The service is so fast and professional. They went above and beyond to recognize we were celebrating a birthday and overall were just on top of everything. Our server was so sweet and really contributed to our amazing experience. Food was good, although small plates (to be expected at a place like this). Banana pudding cake was amazingggg. Must try!!!

What a special experience! Thank you to the staff at Brennan’s - particularly Terrie - for making my entry into 30 a special day! We had brunch with the Oysters J’aime, Eggs Houssarde, Breton Buckwheat Crepe, and the Banana’s Foster. Their espresso martini has a delicious touch of chicory that felt so sweetly like New Orleans. They brought out a beautiful, pink cotton candy “cake” with candles & a special gift! Not only was this one of the best meals I’ve ever tasted, but the experience was unforgettable.

My experience here was mixed. Both hostess that walked us to our table were nice. Martinique observed our tables being close to another so she offered us to move for more space. The food was delicious. I had the avocado toast, grits, potatoes and the Pineapple soda. Our waiter was not very helpful and quiet. We had to ask for suggestions throughout the entire service. He was very bland with our table. We noticed other waiters being very attentive and giving great menu selections and presentation. This was my first time here and though I enjoyed the food, i was not pleased with my waiter. He may have been having a bad day.

Brennan's is one of those classics that you must go too while in New Orleans. I went for Breakfast, which was very good. Had the turtle soup, which is a nice start and the Duck Hash. I would highly recommend it. The bartenders were very nice and enjoyable to talk too if you're sitting there.
Chris G — Google review
Tried to get a reservation, only opening was 9:45pm, ended up doing a walk in, and was seated within 10 minutes in the patio area. Was wonderful to see the turtles in the fountain, and was still able to get a banana foster at 11am on a Sunday. Incredible experience.

The food was fantastic and the overall service was great. One of our 2 waiters must've had a rough morning because she wasnt as nice as the other gentleman serving our table. However she did warm up later. I'd highly recommend trying this place and be sure to get the banana foster!

Brennan’s is a very famous and notable restaurant. Upon my visit of New Orleans, I was told I had to come here to try the world famous banana foster. My family and I came and ordered a few dishes such as the duck confit hash, turtle soup, egg sardou, and oysters with cornbread. Honestly, the entreés were okay, but the banana foster was amazing. Our waitresses cooked it in front of us in steaming hot fire and the banana was sweet and delectable. The banana melts in the brown sugar and the vanilla ice cream balanced the sweetness. The service was amazing and I liked my table’s waitress.
Courtney P — Google review
The food was absolutely phenomenal however, the service was atrocious. It took over 30 minutes to get someone to take our drink order, followed up by getting our app well before our drinks. No bread with the sweetbreads to sop up the sauce. By the time they brought bread there was another round of servers hovering over us with our entrees as we were trying to finish our app. Zero apologies or acknowledgement of their consistent mess ups. Again, the food was sensational as would be expected from a NO institution like this.
AC Slater — Google review
Amazing food, service, and vibes. The dining room looks out onto a really nice green courtyard area. The bananas foster is a must-try! Portion sizes are relatively large for a fancy restaurant. Reservations definitely required, and make them at least a couple days early for peak times. Dress code isn’t very limiting but make sure to check it beforehand!
Ciara Goldsmith — Google review
To be honest we mostly came here for the banana foster, and I think this is a pretty standard nice restaurant that you'd typically find in a city. The history here is what makes it that much cooler and overall was a great experience, service was fantastic, and really only my only complaint was the food vs cost. I guess I should have realistically expected that, but still thought the portions could have been slightly better.

Absolutely had a wonderful time at Brennan's for Easter brunch! The food is incredible (seafood gumbo! sticky pork belly!), the service is spot-on, and the atmosphere is pure New Orleans charm. A delightful way to celebrate a special occasion. ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️

Willie Mae's Scotch House is a renowned family-owned restaurant that has been serving top-notch fried chicken and soul food since 1956. Despite facing challenges after hurricane Katrina, the humble spot in the Seventh Ward has become an iconic Treme institution. The menu features their famous crispy and tender fried chicken, along with other Southern comfort dishes like catfish and smothered pork chops.
I have the honor of the 5,001 review! That should tell you a lot about a place, right?!?! This place is next level hot chicken and southern sides! The staff is friendly and the service is A1, thank you Yvonne!!!! My daughter and I had the chicken, Mac+cheese, corn bread, and mashed potatoes….everything was delicious. My recommendation is get there alittle before 11am. Make sure to scan the QR code to join the waitlist. Did I mention how good the fried chicken is?!?!?
Mitchell Waksman — Google review
This place is a beautiful part of history that serves some delicious chicken. The batter is light and crispy and the chicken has just enough spice to warm your lips. The butter beans are creamy and buttery and the red beans are just a little smokey. The bread pudding with rum sauce was also perfect as the flavour instantly transported me back to childhood Christmas. It was very emotional eating here knowing the history and the incredible people that have dined here before me. It was like having dinner with greatness.

We go every time we visit New Orleans. Our bus driver on the 32 was very excited for us! Love the chicken and every side dish we've had

Best fried chicken I’ve ever had!! There was a long wait and they don’t do reservations, but it was 100% worth it. The seemingly humble side dishes were packed with flavor!! Highly recommend the green beans. Staff was friendly and welcoming. Hope they reopen soon.
Doreen Puckett — Google review
We waited for about an hour to be seated but it was totally worth it. Once we were seated the service was speedy and efficient. We both agreed it was the best fried chicken we’d ever had- so juicy and flavorful it was insane. This place is definitely a must-visit in New Orleans
Per Sveen — Google review
I live in Florida and have been there about 3 times. The fried chick and sides were excellent. Some of the best fried chicken I have ever had. There is something about the breading that makes it special. The service was good and all the sides were excellent. The place don't seat many people so and there is usually a wait so get there early. The neighborhood is kinda sketchy but if you go during the day time the only problem is finding parking. Since this place has become legendary, and rightfully so the prices has gone up quite a bit. If you want to eat the best chicken around definitely worth it though.

First ever trip with my now husband was to New Orleans and we had to come here! Every time we come its right before they open so I don't have to wait in a too long of a line (Trust me there will be one everyday) The food is so good that we even dream about it years later. When we always come back to New Orleans we always eat here the first or second day. It is a must and a history of an amazing culture here. Make the line, it will not disappoint!

Great mom & pop local comfort food restaurant, specializing in Soul food and Fried chicken. Got two fried chicken plates, one dark meat and one white meat. Chicken- excellent with a little more kick than Popeye's spicy, Green Beans w/Rice and Meat Gravy- very good, Fried Ocra- ok, Corn Bread- very good, Bread Pudding- very good. Very friendly and fast service. Note: When asked if you would like dark or white meat chicken, if you choose one or the other there is a $2 custom order charge. So best to just say, "regular".

We stopped by Willie Mays for a late lunch today we waited about 40 minutes to be seated, it was well worth the wait.. We ordered the three piece fried chicken with mac & cheese and peas and a salad with grilled chicken a side of red beans and rice. The chicken is absolutely amazing!. Red beans and rice was also great! It is a must stop when you are in New Orleans.
Dave Tafoya — Google review
BEST FRIED CHICKEN! When we arrived there was a massive line but it moved pretty quickly, we waiting about 30 minutes. Our waitress was extremely friendly and professional! The food came quick considering how busy they were. I had the fried chicken with dark meat, the chicken sandwich, and the fried chicken tenders. Nothing tasted too heavy or greasy, everything was perfect and definitely something you have to try when in NOLA.

One of the best meals I had in New Orleans. Everything was good. Wouldn't say it was the best fried chicken I ever had but definitely a quality recipe. Butter beans and cornbread were good aswell. Highly recommend. This one is definitely worth the wait.

When I visit New Orleans..I always make a stop @ Willie Mae’s! What I enjoy about Willie Mae’s is the consistency and quality of food! There is always a line..but understand the food is ‘cooked to order’ The service is great..the vibe is super friendly and the food is ALWAYS 5 STAR QUALITY! This last visit we had a wonderful sever named ‘Candy’…she made this visit so much fun! Thank you Willie Mae’s for ALL the years of cooking AMAZING SOUL FOOD!

Fried chicken is FIE and worth the wait! Our Lyft driver suggested this place for more reasonably priced and delicious fried chicken. Not only was the fried chicken good, but so were the sides and cornbread muffins. Large portions and wonderful service! I got the bread pudding to go and am looking forward to eating it. :-)

My sister and I were on our way to a totally different restaurant when two people in a row said if you want great fried chicken go to Willie Mae's, so that's where we ended up. We waited for more than an hour, but it went by rather fast. The waitresses are very nice once you get inside, which makes you forget about the long wait. Let me tell you though Willie Mae's chicken is awesome. I have never tasted breast meat so tender, juicy and well seasoned. For the chicken alone I would have waited longer. We had the catfish as well as the butter beans, Mac and cheese and green beans. The Mac and cheese was just basic. I like my Mac stuck together like pie and there's is loose with a hint of spice. The butter beans are okay and the catfish is delicious 😋 I did not like the bread pudding at all. It was very sweet and mushy. They had no problem removing it from our bill. When I come back to New Orleans I will be coming here for more fried chicken.

This is a MUST in New Orleans! This was the 2nd time that I've been here. Got here around 1130am and didn't get to eat until 1:30!!! What? A 2HR wait for food!?!? Well worth it! In my opinion, it's the BEST Fried chicken in the world, the best I've ever had! Juicy, moist and the batter makes the most difference. Mac and cheese or sweet potato fries are great sides but you are not here to eat that! Service is quick and efficient and you put yourself on the waitlist by scanning the qr code. Took ride share here but looks like street parking is available. I've had friends that tell me they feel Hattie Bs in Nashville makes the best. I've had it and say it's spicy and different. But, Willie Mae's pound for pound is the best!!!
Donny Pusawong — Google review
Oh my God. This was the best fried chicken I had ever had. So crunchy and juicy. It was super flavorful. I got dark meat fried chicken, mac and cheese and a corn muffin. The corn muffin was excellent as well, moist and buttery. The mac and cheese was good but I've had better. The price was reasonable for as many awards as they have. I went later and I didn't have to wait. I just walked in. The hours have changed on some days and my uber driver was worried that hey would be closed but they were open till 8. There are benches outside if there is a wait. There is a sign to scan to add yourself to the wait list if there is a line.
jen steward — Google review
In the top for sure, but not the world's best as they say. For me there are four features a great fried chicken should have: crunchiness, juiciness, spiciness and a good meat to bone ratio, Willie Mae's excels in the first three, but falls short in the meat to bone ratio. The line is way too long for a dish like fried chicken that you can get anywhere else with, probably lower, but similar quality if you look hard, we spent 1 hour waiting for a table for two. We spent 17.25 dollar having the classic 3 piece fried chicken with a side. I wanted to highlight the attention, we were in a rush to catch a flight and the waiter was extremely efficient.

Bakery
The Parkway Bakery & Tavern is a classic New Orleans pizza and sandwich spot with a great outdoor patio. The restaurant is kid-friendly and perfect for family meals. There are plenty of delicious po' boys on the menu to choose from, as well as unique pizzas and pastries.
Great neighborhood place with the best poboy sandwiches. The bread is fantastic and it's fun for families as well. I got the catfish my husband got the James Brown and we were more than happy with our selections. We got the small and I know we couldn't have finished a large. Service was very fast you order at the counte,r go up to the kitchen to get your sodas and food, then out to the patio dining tables. I would highly recommend this place to eat at in New Orleans.

What a place! Food is definitely heavy but so delicious. But the atmosphere there is everything. I’m a European and if you are traveling from abroad this is the absolute MUST to visit. However, I was traveling with an American friend and he was just as happy to be there so I guess it’s a vibe of this place which unbelievable. Keep in mind that there is a waiting line. We were there for lunch and waited for 20 min to order and than another 20 min for our order to get ready. However, being inside is a treat so go there and enjoy yourself. This place is made for that

Stopped by for a business lunch, had their famous James Brown Poor Boy and jambalaya. It was very delicious, super rich in flavor and a lot of food (and I ordered a small sandwich). Would definitely come back and try something else!

Some of the best poboys in the city at great prices. Multiple ordering counters so the lines and food move quickly. Plenty of indoor and outdoor seating with a small bar area too. The poboys are huge. A full size is definitely enough for two people.

Absolutely five star place. The Parkway Bakery and Tavern has survived over one hundred years for a reason. The food is great, the staff are friendly and helpful and the place is a lot of fun. At least two full bars here but the PoBoys are the real star. A great New Orleans PoBoy. A large free parking lot and you can call in and they will deliver to your car.

You MUST go see the delightful and saucey ERIC the bartender and Jack of all trades 😉 up at the bar and dining room area in Jay's place at parkway and enjoy some food and a drink. Don't temp him with a good time because he will surely not let you down one bit! Great service, amazing vibes and someone who TRULY will make you go away with a happy day! He is LITERALLY THE BEST!!

I had been researching this place for weeks before our visit. As soon as we landed we checked into the hotel and made a beeline to Parkway and that was the correct choice. My wife got the shrimp and catfish and I got the roast beef. I wanted to get more pictures and a video but as soon as we sat down we literally began devouring the food. 5 star po boys.

Holy cow! What an authentic experience in New Orleans, the atmosphere was perfect, the food was incredible and the prices were on point. Sadly I didn’t get to try the gumbo or oysters BUT the jambalaya prepared by local venue Jambalaya Girl. What a great and fun atmosphere and culinary experience in NOLA

AMAZING food!!! Large and easy free parking. Dog friendly on patio only. Huge Patio to eat under with fans. Can eat inside or outside. Order inside. Restaurant access is near the patio outside and bakery connected to restaurant. Brett P. Waited on us from the Bar and we ate under the patio with tons of shade. Clean and the bathrooms were clean too. No water around sinks because someone was actively tending to it. Overall great service. Friendly staff. Clean place. Easy parking. Best of all Dog Friendly. Oh yes and this place has been around since 1911. Very historical. We loved our NOLA IPA, bloody Mary, and James Brown sandwich. We each got a large but ate the first half before taking the pic. Bread was phenomenal. We actually came to NOLA specifically to visit this restaurant.

Go! Don't think about it just go and try it. From the food to the atmosphere, it's all 5 stars. We went during lunch and there is a wait time. We waited about 20 min to order and maybe 15 to 20 for the food but it was all worth it. Lots of flavors and big portions. We definitely could've shared but we wanted to try different items since we aren't from there. We had the shrimp poor boy, the James brown poor boy, chicken and sausage Jambalaya, and the mixed french fries. There are a few tables indoors but lots of covered seating outside. The staff is super friendly, plenty of parking and the bathrooms are clean. Overall such a great experience and will be back when in New Orleans.

We got the large shrimp po boy and fried pickles. The po boys are jam packed so prepare to take some home (they provide bags and boxes in the seating area). The fried pickles were definitely the star of the show for me. They were super crunchy and packed with flavour. The place has a great retro vibe. There is lots of seating and parking. The is a soft drinks fountain and bottled drink for purchase. There are also vegan items on the menu. This is a heavy meal. A nice once in a while treat!

Very large sandwiches. The Poboy options here are not small, they're robust. If you want a sandwich that's overflowing then this is the place to go. It's a bit out of the way from most places, but it's a great pre/post airport destination. Get the fried shrimp, don't be lured into the oyster (fine, but not great).
Justin Clark — Google review
We asked at the hotel where the best Po Boys are, the answer was quick…Parkway. When you see a line up that just keeps growing you know it’s good. The line moves fast enough. The order takes a few minutes and it is worth it.

My hubby had a shrimp po boy and OH BOY!! He loved it. Raved about it. The service was FANTASTIC. The gentleman who took our order was friendly and personable. The restaurant has plenty of space and is nostalgic. I would definitely recommend Parkway. Oh, and the bread pudding...it had raisins. I hate raisins, so I can't provide an objective opinion because I had to pick them out.

Award-winning sandwich, the 'James Brown', featured not only fried shrimp, but hot BBQ beef, pepper jack cheese, & Crystal hot mayo. The gravy fries knocked my socks off. Also ordered the local Po-Boy ice cream sandwich (chocolate lovers rejoice!). Strong drinks, phenomenal food, and friendly staff make this spot outstanding.
Katarina Auer — Google review
Went on an unseasonably cold day in NOLA (about 35°) which is only really notable because they are currently only doing outdoor seating in a tented area bc of the pandemic. I got to be honest from the time I ordered to the time I got my sandwich far exceeded any wait time for a Po'boy anyplace else we went while in town. I got the house specialty, the roast beef (And for the uninitiated in New Orleans the roast beef po' boy is not a thinly sliced sandwich like you would find at a sub shop... It's more like pot roast and gravy, which I knew going into it) Yes, the sandwich was decent, albeit a little under-salted, but it certainly didn't live up to the billing from any of those top 5 or top 10 lists you'll find online/YouTube. And more so because it took a long time for a sandwich and an order of fries -- And it really wasn't that busy on a chilly Friday afternoon.
Jim Oliver — Google review
Tried both the Oyster and BBQ Shrimp Po-Boys. Got my shrimp with added beef gravy and MOMMA!!! We had previously seen a video with Parkway featured so when we noticed we were nearby we immediately drove over. We got there before the lunch rush and got our food quickly. There was plenty of indoor and outdoor seating available as well. The oysters were so tender and flavorful which is a great sign of their freshness. The fresh shrimp were so well seasoned and the batter clung very well. Both sandwiches were overstuffed and we had plenty of oysters and shrimp to enjoy after the sandwich was gone. We'll be back, guaranteed!!

Great food, ample parking, and the line moves fast! The fried pickle chips were good.. the half n half oyster and shrimp Po' Boy was fantastic.. I enjoyed my "James Brown" roast beef n shrimp Po' Boy - you really couldn't taste the shrimp in my opinion but it has a great kick with BBQ flavor.. If you like oysters and want to try that on your Po' Boy - Wednesday and Thursdays only!

Went here for lunch and the place was really busy. Get ready for a long wait! There is ample seating if you choose to dine in. Food is ordered at the bakery side- that's where the long wait is. Drinks are ordered on the tavern side. Food was delicious. We ordered po'boys and they were well prepared. The drinks were well made. I'm not much if a cocktail person, but I could appreciate the drinks- they were quite strong. Other patrons remarked the same in regards to the drinks. There are cute little hats for the kids, if you need help entertaining the little ones.

This place has incredibly good food, and plentiful. I had the oyster po boy, no bread, so it came out as fried oysters and a salad which I loved! And their sweet potato fries were the best I've ever had. Fresh, hot crispy on the outside with a steamy soft, sweet center. I'm from out of town and will be sure to come back here for several meals the next time I'm in New orleans. Good food, good prices, good service, had a good time

I had the alligator sausage PB with a side of chicken and sausage jambalaya. The atmosphere was 💯. My meal was great. 4 stars because I asked for my poboy with lettuce and tomatoes, and they didn't make it like so. It was a bit after noon when I showed up and was busy, food was out promptly.

We heard great things about this spot before our trip to New Orleans. Arriving early for lunch proved wise as the queue soon extended. The shrimp poor boy was exceptionally tender and flavorful. My husband thoroughly enjoyed the surf and turf, and the bread was outstanding. Make sure to visit their website for operational days before you go as they don't open daily. It's best to get there before the crowd builds.

This was our first trip to New Orleans. I asked a friend from Louisiana where we should go to eat. Top of the list was Parkway Bakery & Tavern and she was not wrong! First walking in and the server asked if we’ve ever been before and when we said no she got so excited and said she was excited for us and in for a real treat! The place is historic and the food amazing. The gumbo was stellar and the po boy sandwiches were amazing. Such a great experience. Food was delicious. Would definitely make a return visit if we ever come back to New Orleans!

It might not look pretty from the photo but this sandwich packed a ton of flavor. This was the last stop on our trip to New Orleans and what a better way to end it than with a Po Boy. I have watched a bunch of videos on this place so I was excited to finally be here in person. It has a ton of character and it feels like a real treat for the area. I was initially going to order the standard shrimp po boy until I saw the James Brown. Although not traditional, it seemed like a crazy delicious concoction so I figured why not give it a shot! So, the James Brown blew away my expectations! The shrimp was cooked perfectly and it was still very juicy even though it was fried. I noticed it had a lighter fry so you get the best of both worlds with that crunchy exterior and the meaty shrimp interior. It was quite a surprise how good the shrimp was by itself, but I cannot forget that slow cooked BBQ beef. That beef was flavorful and oh so tender! The combination of the slow cooked BBQ beef and the shrimp was out of this world. Words can't explain how good this was so you will have to try it for yourself! Even the small sandwich was quite filling so bring your appetite when you come here. They also have plentiful amounts of seating indoors and outdoors so you should be able to grab a spot before the crowds hit. We had arrived right at open a few minutes before the gate opened, but there were already a few other people waiting too. I think that goes to show the reputation of this place and the quality of food they are cranking out!

Coffee shop
Cafe Du Monde is an iconic cafe in New Orleans that has been serving café au laits, chicory coffee, and beignets since 1862. It's a must-visit spot where you can indulge in their famous beignets covered in powdered sugar.
I grew up here and this location is the best it’s in the heart of the city and here you experience the most of our culture. Grab a bag of beignet, shake and walks the river or sit and eat grab some coffee or milk and enjoy the live jazz music. Either way you will enjoy the history and atmosphere. There are always young servers and they are Usually very friendly as them for some recommendations on other great spots. I was baby sitting and the family was from out of town this spot def kept them entertained and busy for a while. Look at those smiling faces.

this place was awesome! it has a line to wait in to be seated or a separate line to wait in to get takeout and drinks. the takeout line looked really long but they move everyone through pretty fast. the beinget's were SO delicious. there was a jazz band playing while we waiting to set the true NOLA atmosphere. it's even more beautiful to take your food to go and sit by the river. all around we will be back!

Fun place. Line will look long, but it moves fast. They will seat you as soon as a table opens, but it won't be cleaned. The mornings are so busy that it's simply a people moving operation. They WILL clean the table very quickly though. Very friendly service. Has the New Orleans charm with the music. Definitely a place to visit. Price was reasonable. $4 for 3 Beignets

Went first to the Riverwalk branch and realised it was inside a mall, then came to this only to learn they only accept cash, finally succeeded in my third try at getting some beignets and a (decaf) café au lait. I rewarded myself with a hot chocolate. Everything came out to $10.75. Service was cheerful and quick. Wish the beignets were still hit from the frying, but otherwise all were as expected. Happy with the culinary experience.

With the popularity of this French donut shop and the number of reviews already written, I don't have a whole lot to add. Obviously, this French donut shop is a must try when visiting New Orleans. There is nothing spectacular about the restaurant itself and seating is just adequate. People move in and out fairly quickly so if at first there is no seat available, stand around for a few minutes and snag the first that empties even if still dirty. The staff does a good job of spotting the new comers and quickly arrives to clean the table and take the order. I went there on Oct 31 at around 11am and the above was my experience. The coffee with chicory with milk was good and hot. The beignets were hot and delicious as expected. Other than that, just a must try.

I have been to the Cafe Du Monde many times throughout the years. I have set the standard of my visits to always start and end at the Cafe Du Monde. With its closing and only offering takeout, it has really put a cramp in that standard, so I was thrilled to once again be able to enjoy the tradition of sitting and being waited on with real dishes in that good old time atmosphere. The Cafe Du Monde is once again the place of creating the start and end of great memories. Don't miss a chance when you are in New Orleans to set your own standards and memories. It is well worth the wait and visit to enjoy hot chicory coffee and beignets with family and friends.

4.5 stars Overrated but still very good. The line to get in for dine in or takeaway can be an hour or more during peak time. Lots of musicians playing for you while in the line. They only took cash in the take away line that I happened to have this trip. The beignets are exceptionally good when they are crispy and good when you get one that is doughy. The hot chocolate is standard fare and they offer milk and sodas. It's still worth the visit if your in New Orleans.

This place is very much overestimated. They are so packed and the lines can get very long. Hence, I understand the diminishing quality. Yet, the coffee was terrible. I asked for an Iced Latte and it was a bit warm and tasteless. The beignets were average - you can definitely find better. Overall, good historical place to go for the experience and vibe, but not recommended for the food and coffee. Honestly, I make better coffee at home with their same coffee beans. Just buy those

Loved it here! Visited at 7am and there was already a jazz band out the front playing some great music. The coffee was a mix of coffee and chicory and is definitely worth a try. Beignets are pretty much fancy powdered donuts but still worth trying. They are served nice and hot. Come early for less of a wait.
Ryan Hobbs — Google review
Did we expect too much of this place? After several attempts, we were able to succeed after waiting for 20 minutes after 11 pm in the late evening. Even behind us, there were many people in line. After purchasing donuts, we found an indoor table, but the empty table was not cleared at all, so we had to clean it up and sit down. But suddenly, an elderly female server came and said that we should push our table against the wall, pushed the table away and left. I later found out there was a $5 tip on the table we cleared and she earned $5 without clearing the table. While we were eating the donuts, two young men seat at the next table and I could see she was taking the order. After a while, when we left, she was on her way to them with three donuts and coffee. I am genuinely curious. Why did we have to stand in line?
M Pak — Google review
Great beignets. Line does look long but moves pretty fast. Restroom also tends to form a line since theres only 2 dirty restrooms. If you sit down you have to order something as I was told by an employee. The beignets themselves are delicious and worth the wait. Definitely a must to when visiting here.

What a great time we had. Wonderful atmosphere. The best beignets in the world. Ruby loved it too. It’s a great stop on a Saturday night walk in the French Quarter. It’s a must place to visit in New Orleans.

This is a staple that every tourist should do while coming here. It’s not all hype either. The beignets were well made and they taste great. When you receive them, they’re hot and soft. That powdered sugar gives it a bit of sweetness. It comes in an order of 3 for less than $4. Great customer service. Plenty of tables to sit.

First time having beginners.. a lot like funnel cakes we get in St Louis at the 4th of July and other fairs. Even though the line was long when we got here it moved quickly. A must do when you visit Nolo! We had live music, street performers a few feet away playing music shortly after we got here.

Beignets are my favorite breakfast pastry, but these were the best ones I tried while in NOLA. It gets very busy down by Jackson Square, so time your visit appropriately. I went early Sunday morning (8am). No wait. The servers weren't quick to come over to the table but I wasn't rushed. Bring cash because they don't take credit cards, at least not outside. The musicians on the sidewalk were fun to walk and enjoy the jazz.

Truly an experience! Waited a full hour in the takeout line, while bopping to live jazz played on the street. The beignets, when eaten hot, are entirely heavenly. Some guides say you can barge in and sit down ahead of all the people in line. Nope, not since Covid! Not clearly any restrooms available. Plan carefully.

The famous cafe du Monde, you are supposed to visit if you are in French quarter. I ordered only cappuccino so my review is based on that. I am not sure about what else do they have in stores. The ordering was a smooth process, the staff was courteous and helpful however they do not accept card so cash only. Bring cash 💵 when visiting. The taste of coffee was not extraordinary but average, I would prefer Starbucks on any day over this. Although it’s a busy place and there’s line of at least 15-20 minutes.

A must visit when in New orleans! Super fast service, great outdoor seating, and deliciousssss beignets!! This was my first time having a beignet so i dont have anything to compare it to but it was VERY tasty. The café au lait was the perfect balance between coffee milk (great for us who aren’t really coffee drinkers). There was a man singing right outside which made my experience that much better! It was very affordable too… Can’t wait to return :)

Cafe Du Monde is the quintessential icon of New Orleans beignets. We stopped by in the evening around 10pm to avoid the crowds and daytime heat. The ambiance was perfect, with music from nearby street performers adding to the mood. Cafe Du Monde remains a stable and reliable retreat from the busy nightlife a few streets over. Beignets were crispy, doughy, chewy, and lightly sweet in all the best ways. The strong dusting of powdered sugar looks over the top at first, but when you bite in it leaves you wanting more. Coffee, hot or cold, is the perfect pairing. I hope Cafe Du Monde never changes, I'll come back every time I visit.

Look, this place is iconic and world-famous for a reason. Beignets are fabulous and they do it the best. This location is iconic and historic and it makes it so fun to grab a cafe au lait and few beignets to share before visiting everything in the area. You can’t skip this while you’re in New Orleans.

Quintessential NOLA experience. Amazing beignets and coffee. Went twice during my 5 nights in NOLA. It's always packed no matter what time you visit, so be prepared for huge crowds. But that's probably the best thing about Cafe Du Monde

Popular place for the beignet in New Orleans. Love the atmosphere. Coffee and the beignet were awesome. Very quick service and reasonable price. They don't take a credit cards, so make sure bring a cash if you plan to go there. It is a long line to go get a table, but it won't take longer to wait.

This was our first time visiting and the establishment was super packed and quite overwhelming. We were unsure where to go for service and all the staff seemed extremely preoccupied. We were told by a staff member to find a seat and someone will be with us shortly. It took us about 5 minutes to find a empty table for two. All the tables were either occupied or extremely messy. We soon realized that any table was better than standing around waiting for a clean table. After a short while, a server came to our table and was kind and provided fast service. The beignets were very fresh and tasty! They only took cash for payment. No debit/credit transactions.

It was such a treat to visit the famous Cafe du Monde! My husband and I visited two times, both in the evenings. There was no line either time and we were able to find clean tables very easily. One bite in and it’s no wonder why these little pastries are so popular. They’re warm and fluffy on the inside, crispy on the outside and dramatically piled, not dusted, with powdered sugar. I especially enjoyed my beignets dipped in a hot cup of chicory coffee. They’re also insanely cheap. Combined, both visits cost us less than $30.00. The staff is uber-friendly and accommodating. With how easy it is to find and situate, you shouldn’t miss this. I promise, not a tourist trap. Your trip to New Orleans is not complete without a visit!

Good but not spectacular beignets. Don’t wear black! Lots and lots and lots of powdered sugar. Nice live music on the sidewalk. Very popular, get there as early as you can. Service is reasonably fast and pleasant.

The beignets were good, not as good as Cafe Beignet, I would say not worth the extreme wait to try to get a table. Once a table is finally secured the service is fast. There are two single bathrooms to service the whole place, always a longer to get into one. Much hyped but there are better places to go to..

Beignets were incredible! Quite a long line to get in, but they fly through tables. Prices were much lower then I thought, considering it’s the best one the area! 3 beignets for 3.85! Super classic area to hit. Would recommend!

Café Du Monde in New Orleans holds a special place in my heart. Having visited many times over the years, I can attest that it's always a delight. The beignets are irresistible, the ambiance is charming, and sipping on their famous café au lait is pure bliss. Not to mention, the lively street musicians and vibrant people-watching add to the magic of the experience. There's truly nothing quite like it! A must-visit for anyone exploring the Big Easy. -Marisa Balletti-Lavoie
