I love this place. Beautiful sea turtles deserve to be saved. They have that right to live like we do. The museum is awesome, and the gift shop is great too. They also have Alligators. If they want to come out , I didn't see them this time . I still wonder why they even have Alligators. I never remember the island having alligators at all. Gators are super dangerous..😱Remember to come by and support anyway you can to keep helping and saving Sea turtles.. Happy Health to All....

We loved seeing all the turtles here! It was nice hearing more about sea turtles and all that the staff does to help rehabilitate them. I really liked being able to read about each “resident’s” story.
Penelope Moreno — Google review
What an amazing place to check out, learn and donate! We had zero expectations going in and were enamored by the knowledge staff, the mission and the resident stories. They offer donation packages and are working to build the worlds largest, indoor sea turtle hospital that is due to be open early 2024. Sea Turtle Inc is a MUST when visiting SPI!
Elizabeth Peatee — Google review
The most incredible place on South Padre Island! And that's saying a lot, because the island is amazing! This organization is changing the world for sea turtles and marine life conservation. Literally. The information posted in the facility and on the website taught me so much I would not have known otherwise - and we got to get up close with sea turtles! Every single staff member is courteous and great at what they do. Can't recommend Sea Turtle Inc enough!
Adelle Therrell — Google review
Good to learn about Sea Turtles. I enjoyed the various presentations. Can't wait until the new facility is finished. I recommend for any age.
Travelsalot1988 — Google review
This place was awesome! There is a ton of information about how to be involved in rescuing and rehabbing sea turtles and protecting and restoring our oceans. Overall, it's a great place to take the whole family to see and learn all about sea turtles and other ocean critters. We will definitely visit again.
Robert Blake — Google review
This center is for the rehabilitation of hurt sea turtles. The whole family enjoyed this place. They were closing early due to the weather so we were not able to participate in the Turtle Talks. The facility explains about each turtle in rehabilitation and how they have progressed during their care at the facility. The staff is very knowledgeable and caring. They have a wonderful gift shop and the part, if not all of the proceeds from your purchase goes back to the facility. This is a great trip for the family and to let kids see all sizes of turtles.
H. FergMT — Google review
This is a rescue place for sea turtles and their facility is very welcoming and not to mention a benefit for these wonderful sea creatures. They have an indoor museum and outdoor patio where you can view the rescued turtles. The outdoors is shaded and very well ventilated.
Damaris Arias — Google review
This is a wonderful organization that rescues and rehabilitates injured and/or sick sea turtles. I visit here every time I come to SPI. The turtles are very well cared for. They have permanent residents and turtles that are undergoing care that will be released back into the ocean. There are educational displays and information on all the turtles. This is a must see place to visit.
Carina Jahn — Google review
I took my granddaughters and we all 3 had a good time. We went for their informational talk in the amphitheater and that was informative and very interesting. The kids even enjoyed it. Then we saw all the sea turtles. I will return. They do so much great work here!
Kelly McTiernan — Google review
This was absolutely one of my favorite places. I will absolutely go again each time I visit. Lots of information about the local sea turtles and what they do. A must stop if visiting SPI. Great volunteers! And the permanent residents are beautiful!
Michelle Behne — Google review
What a nice place to visit. Staying on South Padre Island you hear so much about "save the turtles" but to actually see them up close was so cool. What Sea Turtle Inc is doing for these beautiful animals is amazing. Definitely stop by to see what they are all about. If you can, make a donation to keep their great work going.
Faith Leon — Google review
We had a fabulous time here! There are lots or adorable turtles to see at different ages, and each turtle has an equally heartwarming and unique story. The employees/volunteers are very knowledgeable and were happy to share turtle information with us. We would definitely come back and check out this place again! I wish we had asked her name, but there was a woman who talked to us and had tons of info about Sea Turtle Inc. We were there on Saturday June 4, around 2pm. She was so great we loved talking to her! Our entire group of 7 highly recommends everyone check our Sea Turtle Inc and donate generously as well!
Emily Paul — Google review
I absolutely love what has been done with this center! I remember when it was just a canopy with tubs of rehabilitated turtles accepting donations in a box off the side of the road. This center truly serves its purpose of teaching and bringing attention to their cause. I would recommend a visit for any nature lover!
Lisa Valera — Google review
A very fun and nice experience. The staff was friendly kind and helpful. They did great with my children and were even social with my husband and myself. We went on a rainy day and were a little worried about the partially indoors part, but it is designed perfectly and we did not get wet at all. There are a few places that lacked complete cover like by the restrooms but even there you are primarily covered
Amber Wood — Google review
I absolutely loved my experience here. The staff was so knowledgeable and informative. The work they do is amazing and I admire them all! You’ll definitely learn a lot and enjoy your time! Also if you visit during the summer you could possibly get to see baby sea turtles make their way to the sea, as they do public releases here!
Allie Hudson — Google review
Doesn't take long to go through and definitely a fun way to spend some time on the island away from the Beach. The turtles are amazing and the workers are so delightful. It's $10 to go through which is inexpensive compared to other things you could do.
Danielle Reams — Google review
Amazing place that is doing great work to help injured and sick Sea turtles. One of the most informative places we have stopped at on our southern vacation.
Ken P. — Google review
Beautiful place to visit. You learn a lot about sea turtles. There are some tanks for the turtles that live there and a hospital, where they take care of them and bring them back to the ocean. We were so glad to know they are expanding! Definitely recommended!
Maria Gabriela Rivera — Google review
I’ve been here three times and each time I’ve had the pleasure of learning something new. Love the energy of the team working here. You can tell they care about the mission and vision of this facility. I’m definitely excited to see the completion of their new construction project. Great afternoon activity for the family, especially those with younger children.
Y H — Google review
The volunteer guide in the tent hospital was super informative and engaging. You could tell she was passionate about educating the public re turtle rescue, illness and types of treatment. The other staff were friendly and prepared to answer questions. The entry fee was a bit high, but worth it in the end. Military discount is offered which was kind of them. Great cold weather activity when visiting.
Parker Kelley — Google review
This was an awesome experience. We were able to learn all about sea turtles and how this facility nurtures them back to health and releases them back into the ocean. They have a dedicated team who enjoys what they do, and their passion is very well noted.

The South Padre Island Birding and Nature Center is a non-profit organization that offers visitors an opportunity to experience nature at its finest. The center provides a beachfront nature area with a birding boardwalk, observation tower, and interactive exhibit room perfect for observing hundreds of bird species. It is a top point of interest on South Padre Island for nature enthusiasts due to its unique bird life and natural wildlife.
Do you like reptiles?? If you do, you’re gonna love this place! There’s three floors all filled with different wildlife and experiences. Outside, you have the ‘gators and other wildlife like birds and turtles and such. I believe, in total, there’s like a mile or more to explore outside. Very beautiful and very informative. The gator talks are amazing so please make an effort to show up for one of those AND the extra $10 (per person) is totally worth paying to hold an alligator and snake!!!
whoboatcaptain — Google review
Wonderful experience with very friendly staff. The animal enclosures were all well maintained and clean. This is a great opportunity to stop and learn about local wildlife. Feed the gators and tortoise, so fun! The facility also has a phenomenal nature walk (beverages both alcoholic and non alcoholic available for the outdoor walk).
Chris J. — Google review
Amazing place to see dozens of species of birds and other wildlife. $10 entry fee gets you limitless access to the boardwalks and bird-blinds to take pictures or just spectate. See alligators, tortoise and other creatures as well as the birds in this wonderful place.
Micah Burke — Google review
Beautiful birds, huge alligator and a lot of smaller gators to be seen on their walkways. And you can see windsurfers, sailboats out on the bay. They have some big tortoises here also that you feed. If you decide to go take the time to see everything as there is a lot to see and enjoy.
Terry Hansen — Google review
This is a lovely establishment for nature lovers! Although it can get a bit pricey fairly quickly, if the money goes back to improving the property then I think most would agree it’s worth it. I would recommend going early in the morning before the scorching sun makes an appearance. The birds and animals are much like us and seek shade when it’s too hot out, so plan accordingly.
Lisa Valera — Google review
It wasn't worth the walk down the long paths in the heat with 2 kids to not really see anything special. Not that they can control the birds. It's not that expensive so that was nice. And we had fun feeding the tortoise and Gators. The staff was nice . And they had a free wheel chair for my aunt to use. One bag of gator food is plenty just FYI. Definitely feed the tortoise.
Lisa Boyett — Google review
Excellent place. Learned so much today about snakes. The staff is very knowledgeable and passionate. The boardwalk is a gem for birders and photography.
Hector Casanova — Google review
Amazing place to visit with kids. $10 for adults and kids under 4 are free so that’s a huge bonus. Plus there’s so much to see from large snakes, gators, and of course birds. We will go back!
Kathleen Parisien — Google review
Lovely place. Freshwater, saltwater, & brackish habits in the boardwalks bring a variety of birds and wildlife you can see up close. Added a few species to my birding life list. And I bought a cool t shirt.
Erick Nielsen — Google review
Beautiful! Long walk to see not much but the scenery is nice. Only saw a few birds, crabs, and lots of fish. Feeding the alligators and turtles was fun. Had to wait for the feeding to even see Big Padre but it was ridiculously hot so I don’t blame him for staying underwater. Lots of stuff to see inside too.
Ashley Huffman — Google review
We had a great experience here today! The man giving the talk about alligators was informative and very sweet. Lots of interesting facts and stories about gators. We fed both the alligators and the tortoises. There also are options for holding snakes and alligators, but we didn't do that.
Kiki kiki — Google review
Awesome views and well cared for animals! Very clean facility. Probably our favorite stop so far on the island. Would recommend checking out for families or even just adults.
Maria Kryuchkova — Google review
Not a whole lot to see. Fun place though. Tortoises, butterfly, birds, and gators. 10$ entry unless you are a certain age. 8$ for 65+. $3.00 to feed either. 10$ adventure package where you can hold a baby gator and non-venomous snake. Good place to bring family. There is also a nice gift shop.
Nadia Nabulsi — Google review
Amazing collection of wild birds and alligators. We took a 10am guided walk and it made all the difference to have someone point out various birds and provide binoculars to see the details of each one.
Mark Garvey — Google review
This was one of those things that surprised us. We figured that it would take us an hour at most to do this, but it turned out that we enjoyed it so much that we ended up walking around the exhibits and outdoor area for over 3 hours. We got the gator and turtle feed but found that the gators really weren't interested that much in it. The turtles would come "running" when you showed them the feed. They also offer guided birding tours but they sell out fairly quickly.
dWiGhT Mulcahy — Google review
Greatly enjoyed walking the boardwalk and seeing all the birds, fish, alligator and critters. Would love to come back in the spring and see the butterflies 🦋.
Shanna Barron — Google review
Had an amazing time here. The whole family loved it. Way bigger than I thought, and it looks like they might be expanding. Saw various different birds, but it was more than that. We also saw alligators, turtles, lizards, and fish. Each of the family members also had a chance to feed some turtles and tortoises. The staff was very friendly and helpful.
Logan Kue — Google review
I was blown away by the view from the 3rd story of the observation area as well as the sheer amount of boardwalk! It kept going & going, and there were places to sit in the shade while viewing a marvelous assortment of birds I'd never seen before. I also enjoyed seeing the resued aligators.
Uprooting Conformity — Google review
It's a fun place to visit. You can probably see more birds during the springtime. They had gators, some tortoises, a couple of snakes. You can feed the gators and the tortoises. They also had feeding time with the two bigger gators, had staff doing a walk through catching fish for the kids to see. They had a part of the building where you can go to the third story and see a lot of the scenery. It was a nice place, I would visit again.

Great place! nice water, pickup trash as you go!!
G G — Google review
I’m rating this as a campground, not as a park. The facilities are in disrepair, the bathhouse is shabby and the playground is “under construction.” That’s a shame because it has such promise. The beach is beautiful here. The space we paid for was basically a parking lot (we didn’t need electrical hookup). The park was away from the busy part of town, so it was quiet and not crowded at all.
Tina Gill — Google review
It's a decent place to stay. Close to the beach, nice trail to it. Also close to the convention center, laguna Madre nature trail, gift shop and Clayton's! The spots are a bit small and close together for bigger rigs. It's kind of just like a parking lot but with hookups. Nobody spoke to me while I was there, other than at check in, but it's a peaceful place.
Jenni Dominguez — Google review
Very narrow entrance. RV Park is basically a parking lot with RV hookups. Beach access is not handicapped friendly. Walkable to a few restaurants.
Narela Beyer — Google review
The beach wad beautiful and so clean.. but that's because it was older Adults there and not young adults.
Cynthia Payne — Google review
Great place to chill and have a great time with family. But everyone needs to keep are beach clean. Do a good deed. And good things comes ur way. So next time u see trash on the floor, well u know. # Good vibes.😉
Jess Rios — Google review
Lovely park, nice welcoming friendly staff, ample parking, clean property, $10 entry, but close at 5:30pm Sundays, can't even watch the sunset? That is much too early to close. People smoking cigarettes on the beach gave me a headache, $10 to get a headache, be nice if smoking on the beach was banned, even if it isn't, please don't.
Tara Pagan — Google review
Bathroom could have been cleaner. Excellent location!!! Good customer service, friendly park rangers

Beach was well groomed, and clean. The sand was white and very powdered like white powdered sugar. There must have been 6 or more shades ow blue to green clean water, with nice white caps rolling into the beach. Nice area to visit; South Padre Islands!

The campgrounds are great! We've really enjoyed ourselves.
Renee Richmond — Google review
The beach was very clean! They have bathrooms where you park. Only downside was when we went, they didn't have soap. Other than that it was a great experience. People were maintaining their distance, which was awesome. Most were not wearing masks though. We did make sure to wear our mask when people started getting closer and walking by us. It was not crowded at all, which me it very easy to social distance.
Madelyne Apodaca — Google review
Absolutely stunning. Over all very clean and decent parking. Plenty of rental areas if you need chairs or lounge chairs. Great place to watch the fireworks on Fridays and Saturdays. $10 for my car load and it was good all day so I could come and go as i needed to. The guy in the booth was excellent as well. He an answered all my questions honestly and was very patient with me.

So beautiful out here. I was out here early (for sunrise) on a Friday and was the only one on the coast that I could see – large coastline for even the largest of crowds to enjoy. I hope to make it back out here, there is so much to explore, or just kick back and relax 🏖️

Beach Park At Isla Blanca is a renowned 25-acre waterpark in South Padre Island, Texas, offering an array of exciting activities suitable for families. Boasting a whopping 13 distinct slides and various floating river systems, it is the most popular waterpark in the area. It is situated in Isla Blanca and provides visitors with an opportunity to experience loads of fun while exploring this part of Texas.
This was the season opener this weekend! Love it! I highly recommend either getting the island passes or if you don't plan on going alot make sure and rent a cabana to avoid the crowds. Definitely planning on going every weekend in summer.
956 Review King — Google review
I read lots of reviews before our visit here, and got a little nervous so I had to share about our experience. First, I found the park (including bathrooms) to be very clean. Employees were friendly and helpful, food was good, there were plenty of tubes, and all the rides except one were open. The thing that really makes this water park the best I've been to is the fact that you can ride almost all the rides without ever getting out of the water! We loved the fact that the entrances to the rides are right off the lazy river.. if you don't feel like waiting in lines, have a blast on the rapids part of the river - we sure did! We loved our visit today! Everyone was happy! Thank you for a wonderful visit, Isla Blanca Beach Park!!
Kathryn Smith — Google review
If you can work out a season pass that is the best way to get the most out of this park. Single day tickets are expensive so you feel like you have to stay all day to get your money's worth. Food was also very expensive, but the taste was great. We would have purchased more but it was too expensive for 6 people. Parking is free so that is a huge plus. You can bring in coolers and food so that is another plus here. All the rides were running after 2PM. It does get crowded so many rides can get backed up fast. There are some chock points that they need to address on the lazy River. Also, more floats need to be added. Some areas of the park need maintenance/renovation, hopefully that is addressed asap. It's a nice park and I'm glad it is here, but the admission & food costs were much higher than they should be. Fun for the entire family
Jak Gaby — Google review
Believe the bad reviews do not learn the hard way like we did ! I added over 30 pics from our 6.5.21 visit. This place is beyond ran down! Not sure why the health dept is , city is allowing this place to stay open. Upon arriving we were greeted with debris and trash everywhere in the parking area. Walking inside you are then not greeted by employees that do not know what is going on. Check in area is confusing so good luck finding where to go or employees that are even happy to be working. We purchased the 200$ package which included 4 drinks and meals. Once we tried to use those bands we found out they were out of ice and shocker.. no one knew when or how to get more ice. Food was running low, the option was burger or chicken sandwich, they were out of strips (again another let down you paid for and didn’t receive). This is where I feel this park needs to be shut down, it is extremely overcrowded and there is not enough park staff/ life guards per guests. There was two rides closed while we were there. So floating the river is your only option unless you have little ones, there is a castle mini water park area for them to play. Floating the river you are literally A$$ holes to elbows, you will float past areas where lifeguards are supposed to be but aren’t . My favorite was when my son fell of his float and was yelled at repeatedly to “GET BACK IN THE TUBE” 4 times even though he was struggling and trying too. Lifeguard was probably 18/19 years old and you could tell she hated children and her job. There is a ramp that takes you up by tube, where there is one staff member that is forced to push thousands of people up all by himself with no help. I felt so bad for him as he was absolutely exhausted. He was politely asking people to take stairs as he couldn’t keep up with the demand alone. There is no employees removing empty tubes from the river. There has to be 100s, which caused the already over crowded river to be unbearable. As if that wasn’t bad enough there was lawn chairs in the lazy river !! What in the heck… how is staff not seeing this or giving a damn !? Another safety issue ignored! There was not one police or security in the park that we saw and we were there 5 hours. Luckily no fights were going on, had there been good luck ! Zero management walking around, only teen employees. Life jacket area was destroyed and rummaged through. Again no one was there to restock or manage that area. Half the park is open like stated in multiple reviews yet someone from the staff is commenting that all rides are up! Lies!! For the price you are paying , this is an absolute ripoff. If you are going to charge this much at-least hire and train proper staff, management and RENOVATE! Fix and re-open the rest of the park, mow the jungle y’all have aloud to run rampant though out the park. Remove falling down and dilapidated park structures that isn’t being used. You cannot continue to blame the “freeze “ for the lack of tropics planted. It’s a safety hazard and an eye sore. If you are seeing pictures that are pleasant just know they are old and from Schlitterbahn and not from this park. False advertisement at its finest ! My Pictures DO NOT LIE! RIPOFF
Jessica Karly — Google review
I see why Schlitterbahn had to sell this park. They need to fix their slides and train their staff. It is not worth $50 to get in. There are only two adult slides. One, Gale Force was fun but the wait was 30 minutes. The other, Sea Blaster, was the best, but the wait was over an hour. The park may be worth it if you have children as there are multiple attractions for them, but the park really is small. The beach entrance is about a mile long so you'd do better driving to the beach and parking - unless you're staying in the hotel. Some of the staff was super friendly while others were careless and rude. It was odd because one would be so helpful then the other would almost run you over walking by.
Morgan — Google review
**Parents be advised** if your 16yr old is considering working here..at the time of this review the water park had their applicants take a test over 3 days. 2 of these days are 8hr days. Our situation was Fri to sun. If they fail they are not paid for these 3 days. I guess this company is so desperate for cash they feel like they shouldn't pay applicants for time and gas wasted. Not to mention my son is 16 and on the swim team in High school. I'm very proud of my son taking the initiative and at 16. I'd rather have someone that wants to be at work rather than a good test taker. When asked if he could retest they said it would be another 3 days unpaid. What are trying to teach the youth that actually want to work and not stay home and play video games. I'm so disappointed in the water park. Shame on you! You don't deserve my son and I'll make sure his next job pays for his hardwork and dedication. Now as far as this park goes. Long lines for every ride is for certain. Your best bet is pay for a day pass enjoy the lazy river but if your going to South Padre Island the beach is better. Don't go to the island for a overblown overcrowded swimming pool.

Our 1st time here!. Brought our family here for vacation!. We absolutely had a blast!. The roller coaster water slides were so much fun we all had our favorite!. The lazy river was pretty amazing as well!. Thier is Alot to do for every age! We definitely want to come back!. I wish I got more pictures of all the slides though!.

Stayed in campgrounds. Was disappointed in the grounds themselves. After checking in and signing a copy of rules like no permanent structures. No digging holes for fences ect... I found just the opposite. Plus permanent exposed sewer lines. Old rusty refrigerators outside. Grounds not well maintained exposed wire hanging out of electricity hookup. Looks like a lot of permanent RVs here that are not that well maintained. Beach area was very nice. Got 3 🌟 because of beach Next time I'll stay at the KOA just down the street

This is an amazing park. The website has most of the information needed to plan a visit and reviews below about purchasing family packs and bringing your own food are very helpful. I wanted to write about how accessible it is for visitors who need wheelchair accessibility. The park has Cabana rentals and a good number of these (#5-#20 verify online in case number changes) are fully accessible and are close to the river with river access. Proximity to the water helps to keep the temperature cooler inside the Cabana. If interested in renting one, you can reserve it online. The staff was very helpful and there are plenty of activities for the entire family to do. My family had a wonderful time.
Claudia Galvan — Google review
We visited the water park on a Saturday. There was a crowd, but it was not packed. The floats seemed to require more air. The river didn't have enough current to take you around. It was a good outing to relax. I will give it another try next season to see if floats and current are improved. You may take your cooler for a picnic or they sell food at the park.
Joel Ruiz — Google review
Excellent family environment. Tickets are a little more than $50 for adults and $40 for younger kids. You can buy online. If you get there early; you can always find a picnic table to set up your ice chest and rest between water rides. They do charge extra for taking in an ice chest, but it's well worth it. However, you must have someone watch over your belongings while you are in the water. Otherwise, they have lockers. They charge $25 for the entire day. You can bring all kinds of food except glass containers and/or alcohol. We've been here a few times this summer, and we have a blast every time. I recommend staying on the river if the lines are too long for the wild slides. Otherwise, you and your companion might get fussy by waiting times. We waited a little more than one hour on one of those rides. The river has a drop that entertains every age, so there is no need to wait on those lines.

The water park is so big and beautiful. The lazy river is very fun and relaxing at the same time. However, it is very easy to get lost in this place and gets crowded very quick so try to get there as early as possible.

Came across this place because it was next to our Airbnb. Parking is limited. I recommend purchasing tickets online to speed up the process of getting your access bracelets. We booked a cabana. It came with a safe, 4 person tableset, two lounge chairs, 2 chairs, a cooler table, and a server. The food and drink menu offered with the cabana is okay and $$. If you don't mind walking, there is a food and drink court. There is a food spot immediately to the right as soon as you enter the park. The turkey legs 🍗 are tender and flavorful; they have loaded mac-n-cheese (chopped brisket on top). There's a dippin' dots and a few other bars that served different drinks. The kids had fun and the staff was great for us.

Spent the day at the Beach Park waterpark. Really enjoyed all the water tube rides. The lazy river is not your typical style, it has twists and turns and rapids, making it super fun! The surf rider was a hit with the kids. Super clean park. A bonus is the cabanas with the bbq’s.

An all day experience and we didn't want to leave that's how amazing this place is. Recommend spending an entire day to play at this waterpark you'll definitely have a great time!

Sandcastle building on the beach

Mentioned on
Outdoor activity organiser
Sights & Landmarks
The state of Texas boasts the largest outdoor sandcastle in the USA, located at 310 Padre Boulevard on South Padre Island. The sandcastle was first built by Andy Hancock in 2013 and expanded upon in 2015. Not only is it a remarkable work of art, but it also serves as an excellent tourist information center for visitors to South Padre Island. It's centrally located and showcases the island's dedication to professional sand sculpting.
Overall the sand castles are truly works of art. Very impressive, and a must see to believe. A great experience and will definitely return next year. The event was not as large as I was expecting. I am guessing there are not many sand castle exhibits in Texas so boasting about being the largest loses some steam. I thought it was going to be in the convention center, not a tent outside. Not a big enough deal for me to remove a star.

We visited this place, its makes me amazed how people do it nice! I love the artistic! Not need to pay just donation, I love to be here! It was really good to visit this place while on vaction in South Padre Island. Check it out! :)

Probably been out too long and has deteriorated- but go check some of the other fabulous sandcastles all around the island! They are awesome!
gabriella gaita — Google review
We took the kids to see the sandcastle during our visit to the island, and they were thrilled with it. They love it. It is a great scene to explore. Very beautiful, and show the amazing work that the artists did. It is a must to see.
Nado — Google review
There was plenty of Sand Castles throughout this area of South Padre Island 🏝️ but you will be stunned by the time and effort of the artist when you see their work in person.. Guaranteed 💯
shamica thompson — Google review
Good customer service. There are sandcastles spread throughout the island, most of which can't be seen from the main road. The front desk has a map of all the sandcastles.

Didn't look like the photos online, possibly because of the storms, but would expect it to hold up a bit better considering it seems to be a landmark. Very underwhelming.

Of course it was Christmas themed but the detail and size of each one was remarkable. I'm hoping they will remake all of them and I'll go back and see what they do.

Brewpub
Padre Island Brew Co. is a casual brewpub located on Padre Island, Texas serving up delicious burgers, steak sandwiches and more in a laid-back setting. With a large deck overlooking the Gulf of Mexico, it's the perfect spot to enjoy some great food and beautiful views.
I found the location to be clean, well staffed, the atmosphere was pub like. Busy and fast service. Fresh seafood was on the menu. My wife hates seafood but was able to find something on the menu to her liking. The beer selection is very good for a micro brewery! This was our first trip to the island! The locals highly recommend this joint and I would have to agree!
DOC Schloer — Google review
According to my husband and daughter the flight of beers were very good. The pizza was also good, we ordered it with bacon, and it was generously topped with bacon. The fried pickles were with possibly beer battered and not something I would order again. The cheese curd were good. We also ordered a pretzel, which could have been a little bigger for the price. Service was good, but the waitresses were all over the place.
Graciela Conklin — Google review
We went there for Father's Day. It is a great alternative to some of the other Seafood establishments on The Island. The food selection was awesome. Very much elevated bar food. We had a broad range of their food, from Pizza to bacon wrapped shrimp. It was all very excellent. Our waiter Steven was very nice and attentive. The drink selection for beers was not as broad as I expected from a place named 'Brewing Company' but the beers were delicious and cold. We will be back again on our next trip back to the island.
William Tompkins (Live Music in Austin) — Google review
We loved this place. We didn't get the bar tenders name but I wish we would have. The drinks were great, the atmosphere was relaxing, no complaints about our pizza. Happy hour really is happy. Our new favorite.
Kim Robinson — Google review
You won’t finish their full size rib order but they’ll happily give you a container so you can finish it over the next day (or two). Enough to feed a hungry family. They were delicious. It’s a very popular restaurant and you can see why.
Gregor Riese — Google review
Wonderful food and terrific service! Steven our server was fantastic! I thoroughly enjoyed the arugula and cilantro salad with pears and goat cheese, paired with the Title Wave Wheat beer. Delicious!! Can’t wait to come back.
Melissa Carlson — Google review
This is a must go stop while in SPI. The staff was friendly if not a little preoccupied with birthday celebrations. But it was fun to see the camaraderie. The meals were fantastic and the beer was pretty tasty! I would make a point of coming back.
Kirk Magill — Google review
Had a fantastic meal with me and my buds on spring break. We could tell from the get go that the snow birds were the typical audience and not us spring breakers but this is probably the only restaurant we weren't looked at differently despite being respectful. Our server was kind, the food was hot and delicious, and the flight of in house beer was very solid. Will definitely be back if we're are every back down in SPI!
Payton Brown — Google review
Great beer, and good food! Staff was friendly, helpful, and very attentive. I was very impressed by almost every beer in the tasting flight; the pale ale and wheat were my favorites, but I also really enjoyed the stout. The food was definitely a few steps above your average tourist town fare, and was well seasoned and delivered quickly. The pours on the tasting flight were very generous!
Rachel Robertson — Google review
Honestly expected more. Maybe I did not explore the menu enough. Split the flounder blackened with my wife and it was taste less. At least the mashed potatoes were good. The kids pizzas were really good. One star is for expecting so much more, but not really living up to the hype. This is not a return place for me. The beers were ok. Great idea just needs better execution.
Medic Rob — Google review
The best ribs I have ever had! And I have eaten a lot of ribs! Photo is of the ribs is what I had left over and took home! All homemade sauces, including their coleslaw. Onion rings were huge and homemade! Came out hot and crispy! Service was great! Friendly, funny, and quick! Highly recommend!

We had the appetizers special and a pizza for our lunch. The pizza was amazing, and the chicken strips were good along with the P & E shrimp. Jonathan was our server and he was amazing. We will be back.
Mario Martinez — Google review
Immediately seated with friendly staff and very quick to bring beer and salad. Rest of the food came quickly too. Neighborhood pub feel and a good afternoon early bird specials.
Mark Garvey — Google review
Beyond anything we expected for service and food. Waiter, Steven, was great and quick on our orders both food and drink. A special shoutout to the kitchen and bartender too. We know this is a team effort when things go this well! Hubby tried the beer flight-$11.99, then a beer at the end of the meal, I had 2 margaritas that were their special, $3.00 each. Ordered the crab stuffed mushrooms for an appetizer, the Brew Pub burger, personal sized sausage pizza and their sausage and pesto flatbread. Highly recommend all of them. There were no disappointments. We wound up ordering a growler to go to bring back for our boys to sample, bought a T-shirt and even got two meals to go from their 10.99 dinner special menu. $166.50 with tip. 5 meals, drinks and our to go stuff. Money well spent. We are out of towners who will happily stop again on our next visit.

Great happy hour specials! Our party of four stopped in for apps and beers. We were greeted by friendly and inviting staff. Service was prompt. Def add Padre Island Brewing to your list for a quick bite and drink. At happy hour we were able to try a variety of their apps at a low cost. Everything came out hot and fresh, and seemed to be homemade.
Elizabeth Peatee — Google review
Long standing brewpub. Beers were all clean but nothing special from the taster flight we ordered which is all of there beers. We were there during happy hour and ordered a pitch of beer which was affordable. The pizza we had was not even as good as a freezer pizza, wouldn't order that again.

Sea Ranch is a seafood restaurant with a view of the Gulf of Mexico. The menu features local seafood, hand-cut Angus steaks, and spectacular pastas. The restaurant changes its menu often based on what is in season.
We were a group of 3 couples for dinner. They were quick to get us in and the restaurant was beautiful inside. Our server Gio was awesome. Very attentive, getting additional drinks, food suggestions. They had additional staff clearing plates, bringing water. It was by far our best experience on the island. The food was delicious, cocktails amazing, A must stop!
Michelle Behne — Google review
Food looks great and the service is excellent, buuuuut the food was lacking. My soup tasted like it was just salty water. Rice was decent but my enchiladas weren’t even served warm. The stuffing inside them just seemed seasoned with salt. The other plate, shrimp were good, scallops were mediocre and the potatoes undercooked. Couldn’t eat them. Maybe it was just not a good day. Would I come back? Nah. But everyone should give it a try once, might be better for you

The place was hopping at 5:30 on Saturday night. The food we ordered was great. We traveled to many restaurants to have similar food and this place is spectacular for the price! Service staffs were tentatively yet not overly bothersome. Mac and cheese from the kid menu was a full size portion, just FYI in case you bring your kid here. Highly recommended.
yen le — Google review
No doubt a bit pricey but the service was top notch and quality of food was there. Not too long of a wait time and food came out pretty quickly. I was recommended the spanish enchiladas and was not disappointed. The fish and shrimps were caught the day of which was nice. Our food came out fresh and hot. The staff were attentative and it was clear to see this place is well operated.

Been here many times. Food is always excellent. Waiter was lousy. He was more interested in the table next to us with the girls ...... So we begged for water. Begged for our food to come and basically waited for any service. Ordering was also a hassle , guy was like he was a 4 star general. Very rude and aggressive in just taking our order. No customer service at all !
Khaled Lohar — Google review
All of the food our family ordered was excellent. Even the bread they bring out was top notch. We got the coconut shrimp, red snapper and the seafood enchiladas. I would go back again, nice dinner stop for more fancy out to eat.

The food was awesome! Best red snapper on the island yet. Great indoor atmosphere, not casual. The The prices very reasonable for the portion sizes. Wife and with drinks, oysters and each a meal left stasified for 125.00 with tip. Worth the walk or drive to south side of the island!!
Joe Lentz — Google review
The entrées were pretty good but I was a bit disappointed from the appetizers. The Mussels’ juice tasted like they had put their fryer oil on the dish. The sampler was very small and definitely not for more than 2 people. The service was on point and attentive. They have a souvenir shop in the first floor in front of the hostess table and it had very cute items.
Adela Zyla — Google review
My husband and I ate here while in town, though I am a Brownsville native. We were looking forward to some fresh and tasty seafood and were unfortunately very disappointed. We started off with a half dozen oysters and those were the best dish we ordered. They were fresh and large. My husband then ordered the whole red snapper plate while I ordered the Captain Dan plate, which included Red snapper, shrimp and scallops, I ordered them all pan-grilled. We both also chose the seafood soup. First issue was that my husband actually was served a flounder and not snapper. Though he said he was fine and would eat it, but did point this out to the waitress. Ironically, given the mistake there wasn’t an effort to charge us the price of the red snapper, which was a few dollars less than what we ended up getting charged for with the whole flounder. My husband, who has eaten whole fish in many places, said his was fine but not great. Then I was completely underwhelmed with my plate as the seafood had absolutely no seasoning. No salt, or anything else at all. And lime wasn’t offered in on the side either. The baked potato on the side was the best part of the plate. And we both agreed that the starter seafood soup was more vegetable soup tasting than anything else. Overall, we were sad with the food overall, particularly given the price, and do not plan on returning. The waitress, however, was very nice and attentive.
Melissa A Martinez — Google review
The sea food was so and so but the steak here is good. Great customer service, its very busy. Please do yourself a favor and ask to dine in upstairs you get a nice scenic view with all glass breath taking.
Koua YG — Google review
The food is always delicious and very unlike other sea food menus. They have smoked oysters which are so tasty and seafood enchiladas which they're very generous with the amount of sea food they stuff those babies in. My husband always tries different orders and he is never disappointed as well. My only small issue this last time was we were sat upstairs and there was a lot A LOT of staff banging as if they were dropping tables or something back there, it was very loud. Our waiter did not have great customer service. The last time we went however we had an amazing waitress who provided us her personal choices, was extremely nice and made the experience a whole lot nicer. I was hoping for that same consistency with everything since it is a bit of a pricey place. The food is worth it.

Had a very good experience at the restaurant today. The host said it would take forty minutes to get us seated at our table, but it only took two seconds. We had the fried red snapper and the shrimp boat. We also tried the Seafood soup, and the shrimp bisque. 10/10. Two adults and one child and we were full to the max. The server was very attentive and very friendly. She gave really good recommendations on the plates we should get. Super nice place, I don’t like that there’s rug instead of clear floor but there’s a great view of some boats in the water. Highly recommend, I would definitely come again family friendly.
Erika Benitez — Google review
Get ready to spend some money when you come here. I wish they were open a little later. Besides that the food was tasty. We did get some raw oysters that I was told were really good, not my cup of tea. The service was great. I love a restaurant that has water that does not taste like sink water.
Roberto Diaz — Google review
From Minnesota and we really enjoyed our meal! Many reviews and locals recommend this restaurant and it did not disappoint. Recommend the shrimp and blackened red snapper!!
Candice Amundson — Google review
A very nice find while on SPI! While bicycling around the island, noticed it on the south end. If back on SPI for a rocket launch will definitely go back.
Jim Black — Google review
Our experience started great, but it went downhill about halfway through. The shrimp bisque, while full of shrimp, tasted like a chowder with a bisque afterthought. The sides were amazing especially the creamed spinach and scalloped potatoes, and the main seafood items were fine. Our waitperson disappeared on us, and we couldn't find him to ask for condiments or order dessert. The creme brulee was obviously prepped and caramelized way ahead of time, a big disappointment since it was the reason I ate light for dinner. The check was dropped off in a dismissive way, no eye contact or genuine thanks for coming. At $180 before tip for 3 people, service makes all the difference in the rating. The atmosphere is great though and may make it worth it, it depends on one's priorities.
Sara Schmidt — Google review
I don’t believe this is 5 star, sorry. The hostess was very rude requiring our entire party to wait for my one teenager who we decided could eat a carry out so we could be seated. There wasn’t a wait so I’m not sure why they needed to be so strict. They did try and lead us to a table in the back despite several seaside tables being open, we were able to move to a table with a view after asking. Too much money for the food, could have eaten at several restaurants nearby for much less.

If you're in the mood for some hearty breakfast or lunch options, Yummies is the perfect spot. Serving up pancakes, sandwiches, and even a few vegan and gluten-free dishes, this laid-back joint will have you coming back for more. And don't forget their delicious coffee – it'll help you power through your morning or lunch!
You won't regret it! I've been here a few times and the customer service is always excellent. The food can be on the relatively pricey side for what it is, but it's worth it. They have indoor and outdoor seating. I've never sat inside and enjoyed sitting outside in the fresh air as many other tourists and islanders do. The food was delicious but today my steak and eggs on toast with hollandaise sauce was not hot but still scrumptious. No complaints from my family with their dishes. They have specialty drinks as well like coffees and hot chocolate and mimosas. We had breakfast. But if getting breakfast, I recommend getting there early as it tends to get busy fast. Overall, enjoyable restaurant and atmosphere.

Excellent service; we were greeted with smiles and seated immediately. Delicious food with amazing presentation. I’ve never seen or tasted such a pancake - about an inch thick and extremely fluffy! Our Summer Omelet and California Eggs Benedict were cooked to perfection as were the home fries and toast. Reasonably priced; plenty of seating indoors and out; also a separate “to-go” counter. Great place — my only regret is that I wish we’d gone there sooner!

One of the best places on the island!!! Love it 100%. It is always pretty busy, more on the weekends but it's worth the wait. Very reasonable prices! I love their latte with caramel on top. They bring out the food very quickly. Service is amazing. I always look forward to eating here every time we come.

Second time going to Yummies and it did not disappoint! Ordered the lighthouse omelet and the omelet was filled with veggies, cheese and ham. My friend ordered the Spanish omelet and added chorizo for an extra fee. All omelets came with has brown and a choice of bread. Also had a mimosa which was delicious. The waitstaff were very nice and the service was fast. They added more to the restaurant since the first time I went and it was very nice. Would recommend!

The chicken and waffle was the best I have ever had. The fried chicken breast was perfected seasoned and the waffle was warm and crispy. Service was also very attentive. The suggested tip percentages are calculated after adding tax, so you are tipping on the tax. This doesn’t make a big difference but is a practice that some people are irritated by.

Hadn’t been to Yummies in many years and they did not disappoint in service or food! My husband ordered the Farmer’s omelet and he said it was one of the best breakfasts he’s ever had. And that’s a huge compliment! While I ordered and was very happy with the Lighthouse omelet. We will definitely be back and would highly recommend Yummies for breakfast or brunch. It’s nice that they also have an outside covered patio where can eat as well, which is what we did.

Yummies lives up to its name and reputation! Expect a long wait and plan ahead. I read previous reviews. I got the mocha macchiato (pretty good) my husband got the Irish coffee(not his jam,but he tried it) breakfast was fresh toast and fruit. It was so good, BUT I REALLY enjoyed the biscuits and gravy(🤤😋). Our server did a great job. He was super nice and offered his recommendations. I will definitely come back and try lunch. Thank you guys!!!

Food, staff and service was great! Had to wait about 45 min on a Saturday morning. I suggest making a reservation ahead of time; I think you can do it online. Not many full breakfast places have a full coffee menu. We got frappes, they were beautiful and delicious! 🤤 - ALMOND MILK is available in the frappe The parking lot was crazy packed as well.

Food and service have been great each time we go. Food is always very fresh looking and tasting. Their coffee menu is very interesting, but I'm more of a black coffee person. Drop coffee was so-so, but their Americano was good. It's likely going to remain a regular restaurant for us every trip we take to SPI.

Love this place! I haven’t been in 6 years. The wait wasn’t too bad for a Saturday. We were able to be seated within the given estimated time. Food comes out fast. The only complaints I have is the food wasn’t very hot at all. The hash browns were dry and burned. The hollandaise was also cold.
Tori L — Google review
Our party of 4 had an excellent time dining at Yummies Bistro. We ordered a variety of dishes- the chicken and waffles and biscuit and sausage gravy being the stand outs! The pancakes were also delicious and very fluffy. The Santa Cruz dish was more savory than we preferred and is the only item we wouldn’t suggest, but it was still very good. Service was impeccable, Kevin was our server and took our experience over the top. Highly recommend breakfast at Yummies when visiting SPI.
Elizabeth Peatee — Google review
Delicious and well prepared. Busy place and expect a thirty minute wait, but they have a text message driven wait list. The chilaqueles were fantastic, I highly recommend. The Sunday special barbacoa was great. The cinnamon French toast was fine, but a little sweet. They have a small parking lot that gets full when they're busy. They have plenty of outside seating. They have a wide selection of coffee and espresso, frappe, and smoothies.

We went here for lunch and loved the food so went back for breakfast the very next day. If you are heading to SP, be sure to make this your first stop. You will definitely want to go back again. Food was great and the staff was friendly.

Waiter was super nice. Food was really yummy. I had the eggs Benedict and it was delicious. My husband had fish tacos with blackened mahi-mahi and was really pleased. Coffee drinks were so good as well. Loved it so much I went back the next day but they were “closing early” and wouldn’t make me a coffee, so had to knock off a star. That was disappointing.

Haven't had a chance to eat here in years but I'm glad to say that the food was as good as I remember from back in the day! The main recommendation that I think is worth noting are the onion rings! These things are huge and the batter that they are fried with is great! The burgers are also really good here but they also have steaks and seafood. But the Brownie Sunday was the main attraction for our kids.

30 minute wait this Saturday night but well worth it. Enjoyed drinks from the bar while sitting outside on their large patio. Once seated, ordered a dozen oysters. They did not disappoint. Nice, large chilled oysters served with full flavored horseradish and cocktail sauce. A table favorite. Had to go with the broiled seafood platter and the fried seafood platter. The platters have fried Asian catfish, three strips, 3 fried shrimp, stuffed shrimp, scallops and one stuffed crab. Also, came with baked potato, fully loaded, and creamy mashed potatoes one for each plate. Wait, had more, also came with either a garden salad or coleslaw. Tried both. Then on top of each plate sat a huge onion ring. Delicious. Thank you to the quick and attentive waitstaff that just made it an extra special meal. Can't wait to comeback.

Although the wait time to get it is normally 45 minutes on a dinner rush. The wait is well worth it, plenty of satisfied customers walking out of the restaurant. Special shoutout to my waitress who was really attentive and energetic unfortunately I do not remember her name however thank you if you read this. The food is phenomenal as one of the restaurants main thing are the onion rings and the crab fillings.

We went to South Padre Island for our honeymoon last week and we really wanted some seafood. I was so impressed with how quick their service was and the portion size. For their crab and shrimp combo I think I paid around $40 and it was well worth it. I loved the environment and the food was delicious. We also got a few of their t shirts which are pretty cool as well.

Cons: waiter inexperienced...expensive ...sweet tea was not actually sweet (at least get this right guys...we are Texans! Sweet tea is our life support) andddddd the food was a 5 out of 10 ... Pros: fries were really good and the ranch dressing is superb

Place is really large, half of our group wanted seafood and the other did not. Our server was awesome. The food was just okay. Maybe, our order picker was off. But, out of 8, two didn't finish the majority of the meal or ask for a take out box. Two of us got the all you can eat shrimp which was good, but as soon as you get your plate, just order another one since the kitchen gets pretty backed up. I would come back and try one it once more if back in the area.

Service on point, but my meal could have used a bit more oomph. In town enjoying some time with my wife, and she wanted some fish tacos. We stopped at this location and were immediately impressed with the decor and speedy service. Our appetizers and meal both came out quickly, and the portiona were generous. Crab cake and tacos were a highlight, but onion rings and calamari could have used more seasoning. It's definitely worth a stop for seafood if visiting the island.

Always been a family favorite. Do expect to wait a bit as it is a popular spot for both locals and tourists, but they do have an outside bar and plenty of seating area . Food was great kids meal are huge and come with ice cream sandwich. Highly recommend the Onion rings as appetizer. Staff is friendly and restaurant has great atmosphere.

We went here for dinner it is a nice casual spot for lunch and dinner. We ate dinner here we ordered calamari it was fresh and fried crispy with a nice portion. My husband had the Asian blackened catfish with baked potato and coleslaw. The fish fillets were very large and very flavorful. I had the 3 fresh catch Mahi Mahi, Tuna, and Salmon with baked potato and salad. The fish came with 3 types of dipping sauce. The fish was just ok and small portions for 26 bucks not worth it and they bland I guess because they were pan seared, I did get the salmon blackened it it more flavor. The Tuna portion had some tough gland on the inside so some parts were not edible. There were many choices on the menu that looked good but I wanted to try the fresh caught, kind of a disappointment. We also had black raspberry margaritas with premium alcohol it was supposed to be strong apparently but it wasn’t for us just more sweet drink that masked the alcohol. It did have a good taste more liquor could have been added though. Overall I enjoyed the visit, it was my birthday and my husband told Jose he was a great server but they didn’t sing happy birthday to me like they did at the other tables. That was another disappointment too!

It was amazing. We had the oysters on the half shell for appetizer. We both ordered the steak and shrimp special. All was good except the steak was over cooked. We wanted med-rare and got medium. Brandon our waiter was awesome. Excellent first time experience. Would definitely go back.

We went on 7/28 about 5:45 pm, so we beat the crowd and didn’t have to wait for a table at all. Loved the house margarita in the rocks(great size and you can actually taste the tequila), fried shrimp, and fried calamari. Great rib-eye with shrimp added and the chicken fried steak was good, too. Our server, Billie Jean made our experience even better. Will definitely be going back.

One of the best dining place in south padre. If you want to have good sea food then this is the place. We went for lunch and ordered Salmon grill and shrimp basket. It was very fresh and delicious. If you are going during peak time ( 12-2 pm), you may wait for 20 min. But it's worth to wait. Would definitely love to come back again.

I'll start by saying that I'm NOT here on vacation. So finding this place that's NOT a tourist trap in a huge sea of traps was fantastic!!! The prices are fair and the shrimp poor boy was huge. Good service after a long wait, fantastic food, fair price with a vacation atmosphere. Cat was cool too, just hung out never bothered anyone. Great place. BTW Michael was my server, he made it a great experience. Noting I was not in best of moods when I arrived. Much better mood now. Thanks Michael and Blackbeard's.

We enjoyed this place for dinner and drinks! Sat at the bar while waiting for the table, then main dinning for food. The bartender was super nice and quick. Only complaint was service in dinning was pretty slow, but may have been due to being a busy night. The prices were good, and the portions are very generous. We will definitely be coming back!

We ate an early dinner here on a Sunday afternoon in late October. Since it was beginning of “Off Season” it was not too crowded and zero wait. Our table view was of parking lot and street of homes, no ocean views available. The palm trees made it feel like vacation still so was okay. Our server was a young guy, very friendly and eager to answer menu item questions plus detailed the specials. When the food came, it was a lot so made the $20+ per plate worth it. It was decent seafood and sides. Only drawbacks were (1) there were flies buzzing around the windows near us, the table and menus seemed to have greasy films (2) a super LOUD annoying talker a couple of tables away from us cussed like a sailor and seemed to to think everyone wanted to hear his conversation at decibel level 1,000 and (3) Every (female) support staff not waitressing did NOT speak a lick of English. I found someone’s left behind cellphone in the women’s bathroom….when I tried to talk to a (female) staff member to explain/turn in, it took THREE separate girls looking confused, shaking their heads and speaking Spanish before I got an English speaking person to communicate issue to. This contributed to my feeling of being in an unfriendly atmosphere (atop the dirty feeling) and hence 2-stars. Overall, I could take it or leave it but wouldn’t go out of my way to go again or recommend it.

Fun place. Sat near the back where it was nice and quiet. Waitress was attentive and efficient. Food was really good. I ordered the steak and grilled shrimp, steak cooked perfectly and very tender. My husband had the seafood platter, it was also good, for the price there should have been more food included. Margaritas were yummy.

Very good food and service. A nice place for dinner after a hard day of sunning on the beach.

We had a great time here with friends! I enjoyed a Pina cola and the ultimate feast I believe it was called. It had shrimp, stuff shrimp and Mahi mahi. We also enjoyed potato skins to start. Place wasn't crowded and we got seated right away. As a blind person, the whole place is done in dark wood for the walls and floors. There is low ambiance lighting. I had to have assistance to get to my seat. There were stairs to go up and down. Definitely enjoyed the place! #crazykleinadventure

We had a party of 10 on a Sat. over 4th of July wknd. and we got seated in 20min. Our four apps came out in what seemed like only five min. Our entrees came out promptly and correct as well. All the food was so good and the portions I feel were very fare for the price.

Picked over 3 others restaurants from existing reviews on the island. We were seated fast, service was 90% and the food was very fresh. Left full without any stomach pains. Red snapper and shrimp A+. Thanks

The food was very good! I had the fish basket and my kids had the burgers. The crab cake is meh, I wouldn't recommend, not $8 for one. One of the burgers was under cooked, the manager was very polite and apologetic! The bathrooms were a bit dirty! One major issue I had was the bus service. They waited by our table staring at us awkwardly. They cleaned our table without giving us a chance to leave. One of the ladies even SNATCHED the basket from my wife. If it wasent for the other lady with her correcting her I would have. The service needs work, Staff isn't very inviting!! All in all the food is good however I WILL NOT RETURN! Good food isn't enough to excuse rude behavior!

A wide variety of seafood is available here. The portions provided are more than enough to fill you up. Great value in amount of food, quality of food and price. Waitress was helpful, attentive, and friendly. They have seating inside and outside with a water view of parked ships. Overall great place. Parking can be an issue at peak periods. Restrooms looked clean but had a funky smell.

My family has been here before but this was my first time eating at this restaurant. One of us had called ahead of time to see if we could place a reservation but they said they weren’t doing reservations and that the wait line was short anyways. The guy on the phone was super nice and he was even nicer when we finally got to the restaurant. We arrived for dinner and the wait was 10-15 minutes but they have a shop you can look at and we spent time chatting with the friendly staff and looking at the menu. We were seated at nice tables by the windows; the view was beautiful! The worst part? Apparently they have no oysters right now because they are too expensive so some of us were left with the craving but our food was good. We ordered a couple of platters that fed about 4 people each and we were a group of 8. A couple of people ordered burgers too. The best part? Did I mention that the staff was friendly, cause they sure were!

I can understand why this place gets the hype! The food was delicious, the staff were very attentive, and the prices were honestly below what I was expecting! The hot sauce is definitely the highlight though, give it a try!

Had to stop for seafood at Dirty Al's! I loved the atmosphere here. We sat outside by the boats. The food was really good. We ordered the New Orleans boiled shrimp and blackened fish tacos. Washed it down with a couple of beers. Very good dinner. I would recommend eating here. There was so much more to try. Maybe next time. Very friendly staff and great service. Thanks for a great experience!

Many people recommended this restaurant so perhaps I went in with high expectations. I will even preface with perhaps dining with a group of eight also played a role in my experience. Overall, my experience was ok. We dined here on a Thursday for lunch and were seated and served quickly. The staff was friendly and knowledgeable. The Oysters Rockefeller were probably the highlight of my experience. My disappointment stemmed from my cold food and slightly over charred grilled shrimp. I thought I was alone in my sentiments but when I surveyed the table it seemed to be the same across the board. Everyone said it was ok. Nothing special, just ok. With limited dining options, this restaurant has been a popular staple on the island. My only advice to visitors is temper your expectations.

Great place to just chill..Blackened red snapper and chicken shrimp basket were super yummy and the pinacoladas were delicious! The location is pretty great..we sat outside with the warm breeze, watching the boats and birds pass by. Overall a beautiful vibe..would definitely go back when I visit SPI again!

Wow!! Some of the best food on the island!! But don't go if you're looking for fine dining! The service was acceptable and we were seated right away.... at 5ft folding tables. Prices were exceptional and the blackened fish I had was the best! It's what I'd call a dive bar.... and a definite diamond in the rough.

Food is amazing however there was this white old saggy bald man complaining and it was annoying cause we’re tryna eat our food and he’s over there bching abt them not having bread ? Like bruh go Home other than that the workers there are so sweet and the food comes out real fast !! Very DELICIOUS

Dirty Al's in South Padre Island fell short of expectations in both food and service. The experience started with a lack of attention from the staff, as we were seated without receiving menus promptly. Even a simple request for water without ice had to be reiterated. The unconventional pairing of oysters with ketchup and plastic silverware was surprising, despite the oysters themselves being fresh. Unfortunately, the whole blackened snapper lacked seasoning, missing a crucial element like salt. The shrimp and fried fish platter disappointed, with soggy, extra-charged onion rings lacking the desired crunch. Overall, the poorly executed dishes and service shortcomings make it unlikely for a return visit.

The food was great, we went in for their Wednesday special of snow crab and it was like a pound and a half of crab for an amazing price. We went back the next day and had oysters and crab legs again 😂. This time the price was 3x what we had paid (my fault for not asking) The table next to us suggested the stuffed shrimp which we tried. We were not impressed with those, a lot of breading not a lot of shrimp and I thought it would be a stuffed chile relleno but I was mistaken. The service was great, crab was great on Wednesday Thursday was have the amount 3 times the price. The view outside was beautiful.
