A wonderfully curated museum. Immersive. Interactive. Educational. So much history and education about a unique time and how the developments during this time in history shaped battlefield medical procedures going forward saving countless lives. Friendly, helpful and well-formed staff. A great experience!

You should absolutely make this museum a priority whether you are visiting Frederick, Gettysburg, Baltimore, or Antietam. It is completely worth your time to book A docent-led tour. We must have asked Tracey 100 questions over 2 hours and she had answers for almost all of them. This was a top highlight of our trip and we can’t stop talking about everything we learned.
Amanda Dodge — Google review
Great museum. Learned much about civil medicine
David Woodward — Google review
Great museum with very nice volunteers sharing more facts as you pass through. It's very clean and well kept with really nice exhibits including wax figures! Many would find this museum interesting.
Whitney Thompson — Google review
Cute little museum downtown Frederick. Staff and volunteers are nice and eager to answer questions. Takes about 1-2hr to go through depending on how much you want to read. The easiest and closest parking is Caroll parking garage.
Vee H — Google review
Small but a very interesting museum. Well worth the drive to Frederick MD.
Spencer King — Google review
Fairly small museum, with some really cheesy looking mannequins, but worth a visit if you're interested in history or medicine. There's some really interesting things to learn about medicine practices during the war and it really makes you appreciate modern medicine! There's a good gift shop at the end as well with plenty of books for history buffs.

Very educational museum. Plan on spending two hours if you want to read everything. Interesting to learn about the history of hospital systems, ambulances, education of doctors, and nursing. Public parking lot in the rear by the library.

Lots of interesting exhibits here at the National Museum of Civil War Medicine in historic Frederick, MD. Most Civil War museums focus on the battles or weapons or famous generals for instance but the main focus here is obviously 19th century battlefield healthcare and medicine which is a unique aspect of Civil War history. The building is easily accessible and features elevators and stairs to get you to the different levels. There is a gift shop with sweet merch. Definitely check this one out!
Timothy Stockdale — Google review
If you are interested in the Civil War and/or medicine, then this museum to visit. It is quit small and can be viewed in about one, to one and a half hours. If you read EVERYTHING, like me then two and a half hours is needed, (keep in mind that I am a slow reader). The museum has some very good artifacts. The information is also detailed and informative. However this museum suffers from what ALL Pennsylvania museums suffer from; mannequins! I have been to many museums in my life but I have never seen such a prolific use of mannequins like I see here. But all in all some of them were ell worth it and added to the descriptions. There are some drawings, diagrams, photos and even mannequins that may be disturbing to look at. So tread lightly or send out a scout. The gift shop could be better stocked with more appropriate items. The last part of the museum has a time line of military medicine throughout history. There is even a mannequin of a modern day army medic; a nice touch. The employees are helpful and the bathrooms are clean. Worth a visit.

Wonderful museum in Frederick. If you are a medical professional, you'll thoroughly enjoy the historical knowledge shared here. Plan to spend a couple of hours there to see everything.

I had to visit a historical location for a history project. I'm a nurse so this location was perfect. I learned so much and the fun layout and design of the area is amazing. There is so much to see and read. They made learning about medicine in the civil war exciting. They also give you a nice little guide to help get you through each section. I recommend for all ages!!

Absolutely fascinating. Totally worth the $10 ea I paid for my wife and I with a Groupon discount. We were there on Veterans Day so they had some special speakers there. We learned so much. Totally worth it. Be prepared to spend 2-3 hours there.

The Weinberg Center for the Arts is a venue that showcases live performances in dance, music, and comedy. It also features prominent speakers as part of its programming. The theater is spacious with comfortable seating, offering a wide range of entertainment options from local to Hollywood productions. The staff is helpful and courteous, creating a pleasant experience for all patrons who visit this esteemed performing arts center.
Really nice place. Everyone is very helpful and polite. The size of the Theater is just the perfect.
Carolina Reyes — Google review
Great theater, have been a few times. Seats all have a good view and are surprisingly large and comfortable given the age of the theater. Production is always good. There's concessions and a bar insight but no food service and the restrooms are undersized so plan accordingly. Bonus, the attached garage charges a whole dollar and hour!
Thomas Stickney — Google review
The theater itself is nice and the seats are a little more comfortable than the typical theater seat. It is convenient that it opens into one of the parking garages. However, the 2021 Nutcracker ballet was probably the absolute WORST rendition of that ballet ever! The choreography for the dancers was barely ballet and even the 2 principal dancers' routines were so simple. It was more like a silent play than a ballet. I can't believe what they were charging per ticket. You can't make up for a year of Covid by over charging people. In the long run, that can't be good business.
TJ Haak — Google review
Beautiful theatre and had a great experience at an event there.

This show is AMAZING ! Great start to the holiday season. Only thing I'd wish for..is some dancing room! Soo good
Angela Dickens — Google review
My second time at the Weinberg, both times to see 1964 The Tribute. An older theatre, but was packed with fans of all ages. It does have 2 bars, and water and coke products for sale, some snacks but no "food". Onstreet and garage parking ($3.00). Ladies room is small. Get there early!

The Weinberg Center for the Arts is a great local concert hall to watch a variety of live staged entertainment. With plenty of ample seating, you'll be able to enjoy whatever is going on in comfort. From local to Hollywood, the arts center provides you great shows with out the far travel. So go out and enjoy.

This is a small, cozy old-fashioned theater with lovely architecture and decor. Very friendly and helpful staff.

We volunteer here and love it. The historic building is beautiful inside with good acoustics and a small enough venue where everyone has a great seat. I highly recommend seeing a silent movie with the live organist. The organist steals the show to the point where you forget that the movie doesn’t have its own soundtrack. The seats are comfortable, there is a bar, and concessions for everyone’s convenience and enjoyment. Park in the Court St garage to easy exit from the auditorium directly into the garage to avoid inclement weather and steps after a possibly late evening.

Saw a movie premier there. Facility is gorgeous art deco. Old fashioned big screen plus a stage. Chairs old and old style, but comfortably padded. There is some scaffolding. Bathrooms are vvveeeerrrrryyyyy tight. Wheelchairs are technically doable, but it would take cooperation of everyone standing up by the sinks.

I came here to see the Temptations. It's a bit difficult to get around at first (lots of narrow, steep staircases) but the ushers and staff are very kind and helpful in facilitating a smooth experience. Make sure to arrive early!! I came 30 minutes early and had to park at the very top floor of the East Patrick Street parking garage. It was utter chaos trying to get out... You have been warned!

This is a beautiful building and a step back in time. They kept most of the original decor which is stunning. Even the lights for the bathrooms are cool. They have a few displays that showcase some of the memorable events and people that were here. I would have loved to have seen this place in it heyday. I was glad to get the chance to finally get to see it. The FSO was having a concert and I was lucky to get a view of the backstage. The prep rooms are below the stage and you can see all the autographs left behind over the years.
Daniel Grove — Google review
Loved the performance I saw. Everything looked and sounded great. The seats offer very little leg room. There was also a drunk woman sitting in front of me, who was eventually escorted out.
Eric L. — Google review
A wonderful show with the Marcels and Herman's Hermits! Peter Noone and the rest are great performers. We had a wonderful time.
Steve Bailey — Google review
Very nice theatre, awesome production values and great performers. The show itself was excellent, lighting and sound supported the scenes and performers nicely and the sets were well thought out. Really enjoyed the show. One negative note, the patrons to this theatre seem to arrive late, lots of them, so many that it truly distracts from the production. People constantly being seated up to 35 minute after the show started. Things settled during the second act, but we will only attend again if we can get seats in the front 15-20% of the theatre so most distractions will be behind us.
Scott Rushin — Google review
Went to see the 1947 version of It's a Wonderful Life and absolutely loved the old theatre charm and atmosphere. Enjoyed a live performance by The Catoctones - made the evening very magical and put me instantly in the Christmas spirit! Will be returning to see more live shows and movies presented by them!

The museum offers guided tours for visitors to learn about the history and architecture of the building, including information about its original owners. In addition, there is a beautiful rear garden that visitors can enjoy. For those with disabilities who cannot climb stairs, it was suggested to have a video with narration of the upstairs area.
We had a wonderful tour guide his name was Boyce and I really enjoyed all the information. Our groups were treated so kindly. Thank you so much for a memorable tour.

Lovely homey place. Good old fashioned, clean fun. An amazing old home with guided tours. Beautiful yard, mature ancient trees and well tended gardens. Their October Festival has more than a thirty year reputation, family friendly with great crafts demonstrations from days far gone.

Simply said this was a wonderful tour. Well planned event for adults and children. The volunteers were very knowledgeable on the history of the building and it's original owners. My only suggestion would be to have a video of upstairs with narration for those with handicaps and can't make it up the steep stairs. Overall a piece of history no one should miss out on.

Meh. It was an interesting, I guess. I question the research methods they use to determine the history of the property. I learned some obscure facts about an obscure family that owned an old house.
Eric Leckrone — Google review
Just wow! We thought this would be a boring thing to do on a lazy Saturday but it turned out to be an absolutely magnificent experience! First, Beth, our docent was personable, knowledgeable, and interesting. She made the entire tour worth it. 5/5 for the tour! The gift shop has trinkets and books that send pretty relevant to the tour. 5/5 for the gift shop. The house and the tour were super interesting. The Brunner family left a lasting legacy for all Marylanders with the beautiful home they built. They brought their unique small town German flair to America and created a unique home for everyone to one day enjoy. 5/5 of the architecture and interesting structure of the home. If you have a few free hours, take the tour, walk the small garden, buy something from the gift shop, and then, walk the Carol Creek Trail. It'll be a day well spent!

The WWII event at Rosehill Manor was really wonderful. The soldiers took young and old visitors on a trip to the past. The UFO show gave us Laurel and Hardy skits, big band singers and entertained everyone. Seeing the old trucks, cars, tents filled with only that era's communication tools made one realize that the lack of computers, cell phones and gadgets still enabled our men and women the ability to put a stop to Hitler.

Amazing history, a little under cared for, but if you want to see history dating back to 1852, you should go here. It is truly a walk in history, more than a full days worth of walking to see all the pre 1930 head stones.

Beautiful cemetery, incredible history, not always maintained well, but a nice relaxing environment. Sadly if you want to see where the population of color was buried in Frederick, check out the Laboring Sons memorial park.

Living out of town makes it hard to tend to a grave here. BUT, they do an exceptional job keeping my dad's site clean and neat. Best of all, Rick Reeder is always helpful about placing something there for us when requested. He provides amazing customer service for the loved ones of the one buried here!

What a historic cemetery. It starts with the burial place of Francis Scott Key many war veterans. The cemetery is very large and well marked. The grounds are immaculate. So everyone who visits needs to keep it that way. There is a large map at the entrance showing burial sites as well as a computer to find what or who you are looking for. There are also very clean restrooms and a small chapel. The property is privately owned and is a working cemetery, however, they make it welcome to all visitors. There is a cemetery office on site at the entrance in a Victorian home. This property, located in the city of Frederick is so quiet and peaceful. It is truly a historic gem of Frederick!

My grandmother was buried here and a headstone was paid for. It never went on her grave. We have now paid again 2 years ago and her headstone is still not on her grave. Everyone should know in their grief to keep records, or they will keep your money and not use it for your loved ones memory as they should.
Kelly Reilly — Google review
This historic cemetery is a good place to visit. Francis Scott Key is buried here and many of the headstones are more than a hundred years old. The Civil War graves are lined up along the back fence and when I realized how many there were, it took my breath away. This place is a history lesson.
Kate Lewis — Google review
A great example of the old time garden style cemetery. Absolutely beautiful and just a prime example of a pristine picturesque property. Of course you can see the graves of Francis Scott Key, Barbara Fritchie and Thomas Johnson but there is also a throw back to the days before the constitution was the law of the land. The first president of the US under the articles of confederation is buried here and his wife, president and Mrs John Hanson. They have a sad story for sure and and very much worth a stop there to see them!

American restaurant
The Tasting Room is a contemporary bar and eatery located in Downtown Frederick, Maryland. Since 2001, it has been offering a sophisticated dining experience with an extensive wine list. The menu features a fusion of international European cuisine, including dishes like PEI mussels, sea scallops, duck, lamb, and filet mignon. Visitors have praised the Panko Shrimp as an appetizer and the fillet as one of the best in town.
This downtown Frederick icon is one of our favorites! We have been to the Tasting Room many times over the years, and in spite of changing ownership a few years ago, it has maintained its high standards of excellent menu choices, beautifully presented and delicious food, and excellent service. We enjoy going here for long, romantic dinners. Even when it is busy, the ambiance is soft and relaxing. They always have great bar drinks, and a good selection of liquors, as well as a great wine list. Be sure to try their amazing and decadent lobster bisque (my favorite anywhere!), and their lobster mashed potatoes. Also, their jumbo lump crab cakes are probably the best that you will ever eat in Maryland or anywhere else. We also enjoy just stopping off here for lunch, or for a few drinks and snacks at the bar. It is a really popular place, for good reason, so be sure to make a reservation, if you want to be seated at a table. Bar seating is open, but it stays pretty busy, so later in the evening or on weekends, you may have to wait a bit. Be sure to check this off your list if you visit Frederick, or try it out a few times when you are in the downtown area. You won’t be disappointed!!

Great restaurant. My mom and I went for dinner and the service was great; the staff was super friendly and fun. We started with the pear salad which was the perfect way to start the meal. We also got the crispy artichokes which were amazing. Easily the best artichokes that I’ve gotten out and my mom agreed. As an entree we got the short rib, which was delicious, and a side of brussel sprouts. We ended up splitting all of the food we got. The only thing about this restaurant is that it is pricey, so I wouldn’t really go here for a casual meal. Overall, great food, great service, but a little on the pricier side.
Annie — Google review
The food was great and the waiter was so sweet. The bar tender was also so sweet. The experience overall was a great one. I had the lobster bisque and the lobster omelette. I went for brunch. It is a little pricey, but I promise it is worth it. Even the salad was great.

The Tasting Room is one of my favorite fine dining spots in Frederick. The service, presentation, and the food/drinks are always immaculate! Something I like about The Tasting Room, they have a seasonal menu but the staples don't change! So you always have the classics to fall back on if you don't want to try something new. You want to dress at least business casual. TR is a little pricey but totally worth it! I would NOT recommend bringing children here.
KC — Google review
I don’t recall exactly what I got, but I dined here solo and the service was excellent. I had a very noisy party in the rear near me and the staff anticipated that I’d want to move to a better spot in the restaurant and proactively got a table ready for me! I had steak and another drink which both made for a great combo! The menu is very small, however, I don’t think you could possibly go wrong trying out this spot! A beautiful ambiance, great service and great menu options!

This is our favorite restaurant! We’ve ate their 3 times and each time has been phenomenal. Try the lobster corn chowder, it’s so velvety smooth and delicious. Wine flights are my favorite too. I live about an hour and a half away and have traveled just to eat here. Atmosphere is upscale and modern, my recommendation is to always make reservations though if you plan to eat here because it can get very busy- for good reason. Definitely will be back again soon!
Dee Ketterman — Google review
Visited The Tasting Room for the first time last night and had an amazing experience. For a Tuesday it was busy, so I would definitely recommend making a reservation. The service was wonderful from start to finish. The drink menu is extensive, which includes some creative and quite delicious options - highly recommend "Green with Envy" and the "Black Martini." The dinner menu is slightly limited, but still offers something for every palate. The food is thoughtfully prepared and artistically plated with fresh and exciting ingredients. The portions are on the smaller side which leaves plenty of room to make it to dessert - do yourself a flavor and stick around for tiramisu or the rhubarb cheesecake! The only slight downfall was the restaurant is very loud making it difficult to hold a conversation, i might recommend outdoor seating if this would be a problem for you. Will definitely be coming back for more.

I met a friend here for dinner and drinks and I love this restaurant. It’s crazy I can’t believe that I’ve never been to this restaurant before. I love how Frederick has so many gems to choose from for great food. If you’ve never been to The Tasting Room it’s perfect for date night, girls night out (which is what I did), or for cool place to chill and relax at the bar solo. Let me begin by saying that our waitress, Jessica, was so helpful and knowledgeable of the menu to make suggestions on food and drink options. She was so polite and welcoming, and I immediately I felt like this restaurant was on point with the service. The cocktails were amazing. I had the Blueberry Lemonade & Summer Sangria, and my friend had a Aperol Spritz with Gin. We also had wine with our entree’s Our food was delicious! We started with the crab dip, and it was good. I ordered the NY Strip and it was so good, but my only issue is that I ordered it to be cooked medium. The first one was overcooked, and Jessica and the Manager offered for it to be sent back and replaced with a new one. I have to give it to them because, they were so nice about it and quickly brought out a new one. The second was cooked the way I liked it, but because they put it on a “hot plate” it continued to cook. So by the time I got to the end of the steak it was well done, and I lost interest in finishing it. Even though I really wanted to finish it and the steak was such a great cut, seasoned to perfection, and delicious otherwise. The side dishes were really good as well. Finally, I usually don’t have any room for dessert, but because the food was the perfect portions and not “heavy,” I was able to have dessert. So, my friend and split the Creme Brûlée. OMGOODNESS! So good! The strawberry compote made it even better for me! I loved it! It was perfect! If you’re thinking about checking out The Tasting Room, I definitely recommend it and I will be returning

What a great meal with fantastic service at The Tasting Room in Frederick Maryland. We were gifted a very generous gift card to this restaurant. We had eaten here in the past, but had the opportunity to head back here. We used OpenTable and booked our reservation several weeks in advance. Mostly because of our schedule, but we’re excited to go back. Our server was Jessica and she was probably one of the best servers we have had in the past two years. Extremely knowledgeable about the wines, and very strong on the menu selections. Professional and attentive. If I could give her six stars, I would. For dinner we started with a Black Martini and a Lily Pad. Jessica explained the drink to us so we went with it and was not disappointed. With dinner we had a bottle of Inglenook Zinfandel. Delicious. For food we started with the Panko Shrimp and the charcuterie board. The cheese selection was very good and the elk sausage was tasty. For main courses we all had the filet. Great presentation with oval trivets and cast iron plates with each filet. Tender and cooked to perfection with a side of béarnaise sauce which was some of the best I have ever had. So so good! You also received as a side dish potatoes au gratin. Very good! We also ordered a side of Brussels sprouts for the table. For desserts Jessica recommended the “warm chocolate toffee Bundt cake”. It was so delicious. Could have eaten two! We also had the “lemon meringue parfait”. Light and tasty. We rounded out the meal with Peruvian Dark Roast Coffee. Outstanding. The restaurant is cozy and well decorated. Take the opportunity and look up at the beautiful ceilings that permeate throughout the restaurant. In addition, if you are seated next to a window look across the street at the “Angel” painting. So interesting. Overall, the meal and service were just outstanding. Yeah it is on the expensive side (but we had drinks, apps and dessert) but I will go back. It really was perfection and worth every penny.

The tasting room was delightful. We came here to celebrate my husband's birthday. Our two appetizers were delectable - beef tartar and octopus. My dinner choice of scallops was perfectly cooked, my husband's shrimp gumbo was pretty good. The dessert of blueberry Pavlova was a perfect combination of sweet and crunchy and a little sour and creamy. Definitely recommend! Our server was perfect. She brought my husband a little birthday candle on a platter with little treats! Great experience.

We came here for an extremely pleasant brunch. The staff was fast, friendly, and courteous. The food was extremely well crafted with delicate tasting notes and robust spices. For an appetizer, we had the crab dip. For our entrees, my husband had the spicy chicken, which was spectacular, and I had the salmon cakes. Drinks are phenomenal and well worth their price.

Must try! My fiance & I went on my birthday for dinner & so glad we did. Located conveniently in downtown Frederick. It was a busy weekday evening & we did not make reservations, so we waited for about 15 minutes. The hostess was great & we opted to sit inside, although they did have patio seating available. Our servers, Marco & Jessica, delivered excellent customer service & were very friendly & attentive. We ordered the Lily Pad & Blueberry Lenonade cocktails, which were delicious & well balanced. We ordered the mussels, crab cakes & house salad...everything was amazing!! They even brought out a dessert sampler with a candle for my birthday, which was a lovely touch. Excellent experience & looking forward to returning soon!

Everything was wonderful!! Took my husband here for his birthday dinner and we got the short rib for two with Mac and cheese and potatoes on the side and boy oh boy - it was fantastic. Our waitress was great, she checked in on us just enough but not too much, she had a great wine recommendation for us too. Atmosphere was beautiful and welcome and I loved the art work on the walls too. Definitely a more $$ dinner spot but worth every penny! We'll be back for sure 😊

A nice dinner experience. The ambiance on the creek with outdoor seating was a pleasant surprise. The food was good. The salt tubes were a fun option with entrees. Southern Fried Green Tomatoes were excellent. Wagyu flank was good, as was the Arctic Char. It seemed pricier than the quality of the food, but it was a nice dinner for two.

I recently hosted a private brunch birthday party at The Wine Kitchen. We booked the private room for 15 which required a room rental and limited menu. From the communications prior to the event everyone was outstanding. When we arrived we were greeted with a smile, Tim was our server. He was attentive, professional and friendly. The manager on duty, Kat made herself known and checked in often. The food was excellent. We had oysters on the half shell, sticky buns, shrimp & grits, quiche (the highlight) and a few other items. Everyone enjoyed it. Last but not least the cocktails we enjoyed were great. We will be back again soon to enjoy a more low key evening but highly recommend. Such a lovely staff.

From the flights of wine, to the dinner rolls, the perfectly cooked steak, and finally dessert. Highly recommend the Wine Kitchen for a date night away from the kids! The friendly and knowledgeable staff helped us navigate the wine menu to get pairings that were great with the food.

My wife and I enjoyed an excellent dinner for Valentines Day at the Wine Kitchen. Wide selection of tasty steak dinners to choose from along with some great beer as well. We had a nice quiet booth with all the other customers "out of sight" so it was nice. Highly recommend. Plus as a bonus all the boats were on display lit up on Carroll Creek as well...very cool

Impeccable service, food and drink! Beautiful establishment, very clean, and our server Wayne was very friendly, patient (our first time there), and knowledgeable of the menu items. He didn’t check in too much or too less—he was amazing! Sorry for staying an hour past closing 😅—we loved the atmosphere and service and we will be back! Oh and they even have whiskey flights 🤩 ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️

This place is so, so good and worth any amount of time it takes to get there. (I live an hour away.) Located next to the Carroll Creek walkway, this is the place to sit outside on a beautiful day. The inside is beautiful, too. Such a classy place! Two former college friends and I enjoyed a lunch that had wonderful service, fantastic food, and we can't wait to go back again! The staff was patient as there was no one waiting for a table and since my group had a lot of catching up to do, they were nice enough to encourage us to stay. (We would've left had there been people waiting.) The Wine Kitchen offers $16 lunch choices and all look good. Two of us had the wild mushroom strudel. OMG...we were talking about how good it was the rest of the day. The other friend had the steak salad and cleaned her plate. I tried a non-alcoholic Riesling and one friend had a flight of white wines. My Riesling was good with what I ate, but it wasn't a sweet Riesling which I prefer. Still, I wasn't disappointed. One friend got a scoop of the homemade pistachio ice cream and she said it was the best pistachio ice cream she's ever had. I would've loved the chocolate Opera Cake which sounded like a lovely and filling dessert, but I didn't so I plan on ordering it next time.

The best wine bar I've been to in Maryland. And not just because the wine is good (hint: it's excellent), but becaue the food is supremely good. As my go-to restaurant in Frederick, great wine and great food hits the spot in any weather. The vibe is relaxing and unpretentious, like much of Frederick. The menu is fresh and inventive, with offerings to please any palate. A must-do!

Excellent meal tonight. I've not been back to the The Wine Kitchen in Frederick MD in some time, and happy to see that they're still running an excellent operation here. Service tonight was excellent, Nina was fantastic along with others on the team that serviced our table. Cocktails from the bar were very good fun what I tried. Food rivaled the better quality restaurants that I've eaten in Washington DC and other major cities, well sourced ingredients and prepared / plated well. I noted that there a special 3 course for $50 prix fixed option on certain nights and towards later in the evening. Options on the menu resonated with me, and took advantage tonight. I look forward to return visits. I hope to see many of the staff again.

Good food and the atmosphere and space is comforting and inviting. Outdoor seating is available too, so you can enjoy the creek while you eat. Quite honestly I think the biscuits were my favorite. The Octopus Salad was a lot smaller than I thought it would be, and the Hudson Valley Duck Breast was good but not filling. It was good like I said, but I think for the price I’d rather go elsewhere in Frederick (or somewhere else twice to be honest).

The day was filled with sunshine. Downtown Frederick was stunning, the perfect place to enjoy the warmth of the sun and enjoy the view, to include a quick stop at the art museum. The Wine Kitchen is so special. We enjoy wine tasting, which is a feature they offer. It was wonderfully presented. Our lunch was enjoyed at one of their outside dining areas. The food, the wine, the service and the view, let's just say, super fab ! We will do it again for sure.

Highly recommend! My fiance & I went on my birthday to try it out & so glad we did. Located conveniently in downtown Frederick with parking garage about a block away. It was a busy weekday evening & beautiful warm weather out, so we opted to sit outside on their patio by the creek, which was peaceful & scenic. We were seated right away where I was handed a birthday envelope with a sweet message from the staff & coupon for our next visit. I thought that was a lovely touch. Our servers, Mary & David, were outstanding! They offered wonderful suggestions, delivered exceptional customer service, were very knowledgeable, & friendly. We ordered the Venus's Flight and Sky full of Stars cocktails which were unique but good & well presented. We only ordered a few small plates since we were restaurant hopping. The deviled eggs, mac & cheese, and succotash were delicious! Excellent experience & looking forward to returning soon!

Our Anniversary dinner was great. They had a little card there for us which was a nice touch. We wanted that romantic ambiance but we just had a booth in a hallway that had no views or anything special. But if your going to business or want private convo it would suffice. The food was outstanding. Ribeye was full of flavor - loved the fancy salts to choose from, and the dessert was light and bright. My favorite dish ~ the Brussel sprouts! I will be trying to recreate these for sure. Such a perfectly executed dish. The cocktails were just okay (but that's just my personal taste). We'll be back because the service is impeccable and the food is divine.

Everything was good. Oysters were small but fresh. Filet was a touch overcooked but very good. Panna Cotta was delicious. Great view of the neon boats on the canal.

The wife and I visited this restaurant for the first time. We really enjoyed it. The atmosphere felt cozy, perfect spot for a romantic dinner. The service was great, the waitress constantly checked on us. For appetizers we ordered the shredded steak empanadas and a Caesar salad. For our entree we ordered Balsamic Marinade Denver cut steak and the Wagyu Flatiron steak. Everything was amazing. I definitely recommend this restaurant.

Can’t express enough great things about this restaurant. So warm and inviting as soon as you walk in. Our waiter was very intentive which we appreciated. We ended up starting with the dinner rolls and garlic butter….soooo good. The butter was so soft and full of flavor. My fiancé got the balsamic marinade Denver cut steak with green beans and I got the Filet Mignon with mashed potatoes. Both steaks cooked to perfection and the flavor was spot on. One of the best steaks I’ve ever had. It’s more pricier but so worth it. Definitely recommend to anyone who’s never been. You won’t be disappointed

Absolutely WOW!!! Great friendly service, very nice atmosphere and nice views of the lighted boats on the creek. And the food was AMAZING! We ordered so much, beef fat fries, pickled beet salad, deviled eggs, tuna tacos with caviar, hot rolls and garlic butter (To die for!), empanadas, mashed potatoes, and short rib. Every dish was excellent in presentation and flavor. For the first time in my life, I felt like I was on a food high. I can't wait to go back!

We haven't been here in a long time, but what a great experience and happy to have returned! We were meeting another couple and arrived about an hour early. We sat at the bar and had two glasses of Seghesio (one of our favorite wines). Excellent service and conversation with Shane. It was fun to watch the team take maticulous care of cleaning and drying the wine glasses. Definitely no spots will be found! Off to dinner we went and enjoyed not only great food, but great wine and service. For dinner we had the Sea Scallops and Wagyu Burger. Cooked to perfection and delicious. To finish off the meal we shared the Raspberry Frangipane Tart. Outstanding. Should have had two, or not shared! Our server was Graham. Really attentive, professional and just great with customer service. Took the time to explain the various wines to us and was just fantastic. Now off to the wines. I love the flights that the Wine Kitchen on the Creek provide. Three glasses with about 2 oz pours to allow you to taste each selection. Cute names for each flight with varying varietals and flavors. Each selection comes with a "card" that explains each wine and gives you great information. If you love a wine, you can purchase a bottle to take home. So, for our dinner we had "Paint the Town Red Flight" which contained several varietials of red wine. We also had "The Other Washington" which was a selection of red and white wines from Washington State. Finally, we finished with the "Cabernet Reserve". The wines were excellent! By the way, they also have Whiskey flights as well. A little something for everyone. Overall a great meal, great wine and great service. I think you should give it a try, you won't be disappointed.

We celebrated my son’s 17th birthday here and it did not disappoint! The staff were friendly and attentive - multiple people stopped by to fill our water throughout the evening. The decor was really nice with a variety of textures (wood, brick, fabrics, metal). The food was amazeballs. My son and I had the filet and my husband had the duck. And, because it was a celebration, we got 3 different desserts . The chocolate cake was so good, I dropped my fork. We will definitely be back!

My wife and I went here for our anniversary and it did not disappoint! The reservation process was quick and easy. I entered some information and a couple of requests ( flowers at the table). I received a call confirming the reservation and suggestions about the flowers( I dropped them off earlier in the day and they were on the table when we arrived. We had a cozy booth looking out over the creek. There was a card congratulating us on the anniversary. They started us off with two glasses of bubbly for a toast, which was nice. Our waiter Kevin was wonderful. He was charming and polite. He made suggestions for us and was not pushy. We ended up having the rolls and spiced nuts as a starter. I ordered the Wagyu and duck fat fries, my wife ordered the scallops. Both were perfect! We shared the mulled pear trifle and again, we were floored with how good it was. The whole night was really wonderful. The ceiling has stars that shift and change, and occasionally you will see a shooting star. Our sincere thanks to all the staff for making our night memorable!

With multiple locations in Maryland and Virginia, including two in Frederick, it has become a go-to spot for delicious Southern BBQ. The restaurant offers a variety of menu items such as ribs, wings, sides, and drinks. Customers have praised the attentive service and the tasty food, particularly highlighting the tender brisket and flavorful sides like fries and greens with just the right amount of kick.
We had a tasty lunch here! Service was hustling and very attentive. Brisket was tender and we enjoyed the sauces. The sides were on point. The fries were great. The greens had a kick but not too much. The sweet potato was incredible! We really had a nice time.

Let me tell ya the girl serving us can make a terrific Bloody Mary!!! WOWZA!!! Wish I could remember her name! She did a really good job! Hustling back and forth!! Stopped in for dinner on our way to DC and holy cow did they deliver. Great and fast service, place was pretty calm even though it was a Saturday night. My sisters and I all got the Meal on a Bun sandwich (pulled pork, coleslaw, french fries, and house bbq sauce) with a different side each to try (mac & cheese, potato salad, and sweet potato), while our dad got the Triple Meat Mofo sandwich (smoked ham, pork, and brisket with onions and cheese) with southern greens. When I tell y’all this is some of the best (if not THE best) bbq we’ve ever had. Every single thing we tried blew us away, all of it was delicious. Food came out super quick and I can’t complement it enough. Whether you’re local, or passing through, you’ve got to give this place a try!!

Great BBQ restaurant in Frederick, always have helpful staff to give recommendations too. The Brisket melts in your mouth, the Ribs has some great flavor. We tried the chopped Pork for the first time and it was ok but I’d probably try the sausage next time. Every time we’ve been we’ve always ordered the “Triple Meat MoFo” sandwich and it’s always the star of the show. I’ve never had a bad meal here!

Outstanding food, at least the Eastern NC style Pulled Pork BBQ that my wife and I both ordered. Authentic Eastern NC taste. Yet, they also do all of the major styles of BBQ (KC, Memphis, etc. ) in Pork and Beef. Service was excellent; friendly and attentive. The peanut butter pie and cheesecake were tasty but the star of this show is the bbq. A laid back, local “joint” feel to the ambiance. Tables and chairs in the front with a small bar in the back. Great experience!

First time here. Our family had the two meat plate of brisket, pork shoulder, baked beans, corn bread, half chicken plate with Mac/cheese, cheeseburger plate, and a salad with pulled chicken. Portion sizes were small and the food was average. Not impressed. BBQ is my first love just not Black Hog.

Just excellent. Some of the best BBQ I've ever had. The brisket (the one like burnt ends) was top notch. Ham delicious as well. Sides were delish and I especially like the vinegar sauce. Nicely done, folks.

Traveling through and decided to stay the night in Fredrick and this place was right on point! Sat at the bar and the bartender was friendly and on point with service. I had some wings and they were good! Being from upstate NY I was pretty happy as I am used to wings. Had the Arkansas brisket and that was fabulous! The portions were just right too! Glad they focus on quality and not quantity. Had a local beer and that helped my thirst! If I am back in town, I will make this a go to place.

Atmosphere: Really enjoyed the inside of the establishment, especially the neon sign on one side of the wall making you aware of what's available. There is a good amount of seating area for eating and pretty spacious even though many places to sit. I liked how both the pick up orders and bar area are split up and across from each other. Service: Their service was impeccable and was seated promptly. Having never been to this establishment the waitress offer some great recommendations and foods we had to try out, even though everything looked good. Quality: Where do I begin, coming from Texas, we take our BBQ very serious and even the waitress was worried at first but was certain we wouldn't be disappointed. She mentioned that I should try the Arkansas Brisket because the amount of flavor it had and would definitely be worth it. Being our first time there, she recommended the Dry Rub Jumbo Wings as a starter and they were really good, just the right amount of rub and the size of the wings were just like the menu stated. Before we left, she asked how it all stacked up and we told her that it was amazing and wished we could try everything. She said she should have recommended the Triple Meat Mofo Sandwich and Luke's Chili, in which later in the week I got and highly recommend because the amount of flavor and quantity of each meal. Was in town for work and normally don't like to go the same restaurant twice but had to make an exception for this one due to how amazing everything was. Highly recommend and you won't be disappointed.

The food looked really good when they brought it out . The meats were very tender , but the sauce had a after taste to it the baked beans had been made with the sauce so it was very soupy like and of course it had that after taste. The corn bread and yams were good. It was a good place to go but they need to change the recipes up a little bit.

Absolutely loved this place. First time there and our whole family can't wait to return. Great service and atmosphere. The Detroit style pizzas are insanely delicious. Similar to Chicago style but a much fluffier, lighter crust. The chicken and waffles was also one of the best versions of that dish I've ever tried.

Really cool little place in Downtown Frederick. Very popular, gets very busy, bars on both levels that are full. The food is very good--Detroit-style pizza is their specialty and they won awards for their version of it. It's excellent, if you're into that style, and they have several varieties. They have a number of other things including a number of vegan and gluten-free options, too. Good service. Definitely check it out.

First time coming here and was blown away with the food! I figured the pizza would be good but was not prepared for how good it was! Our waiter and waitress were very attentive and quick to bring us refills and new drinks. Our appetizers came out pretty quick and our pizzas came out pretty quick too. Each of the pizzas we ordered were top tier in their own toppings category. Every person at the table had a favorite but all agreed that each Pizza was amazing and they would be satisfied with any one of them. I am a fan of Detroit style pizza and I felt like these were cooked to perfection. The edges had enough crisp and crunch to balance the soft doughy inside with just enough oil on the bottom to round out the texture palette. The sauce was not chunky but was still thick and tasty. Pepperonis were not overcooked even the ones that were around the edge of the one pizza. Our waiter had said the pizza was award-winning, and after eating it I can see why. The chicken bacon ranch had a lot of ranch but not to the point where it was super messy. The In (pepperoni) crust we trust had a lot of pepperonis which made it a strong contender for number one. The Veronica Vaughn was the perfect combination of pepperoni pizza with ricotta, definitely my favorite. And the chicken and waffle was surprisingly amazing - the whipped cream dough was a nice touch to capture the true essence of a chicken and waffle meal. Can't wait to go back and try all of the things on the menu!

Best pizza I have eaten, period. The ambiance is chill and laid back, nicely decorated. They have a good focused quality beer selection which I also enjoyed. It was a nice Monday evening. Was visiting some friends near downtown Frederick. They suggested going to this gastropub, and with great reason. Upon walking up we were in a hidden back alley type of location. There was a couple of tables outside but they were filled up. We came in and they sat us upstairs. Very interesting decor and a lot of Star Wars funky art. After ordering some tasty cocktails they had seating open up out front. The menu is very interesting with a funky Detroit pizza menu. All of it was good along with the variety of drinks they have to offer. I highly recommend going here if you are in downtown Frederick.

Always fantastic food drinks and atmosphere. Pizza Flights are a great introduction to some of the things these guys do best. 42 Taps downstairs and a cocktail bar bar upstairs give you a lot of yummy options to wash down that pizza. Today Heather suggested and mixed a 'She's my cherry pie'. Was delicious (think cherry vanilla crush, but fancy).

Ate here the day after Christmas. The staff was so friendly and helpful. The menu has a wide variety of eclectic dishes. We had the kung pao shrimp, the Goarded goat salad, smash burger, classic burger, and the frenchman burger. All were excellent. The meat patties are fresh and made super thin which gave a crispy bite on the edge. everything was well balanced, fresh, and flavorful. The manager was attentive, aware, and present. My only negative comment is the way you order and pay on your phone. No one wants to have to work when you sit down for a meal. Although the staff is very helpful to get the order placed properly.I will definitely visit the White Rabbit again.

Detroit style pizza is their secret weapon here and we tried their Veronica vaughn. It's a really good pizza and it wouldn't be out of place in detroit competing against buddy pizza. The pizza is a good portion that can feed two, it's saucy and very cheesy and has a bit of burnt cheese bits on the side that I really like. Overall it's a really good pizza and I wouldn't mind going back to try some more beers and some other pizzas on the menu.

My friends treated me to our second White Rabbit trip last night. Tommy at the bar offered me a birthday drink and I got the Pretty in Pink which was refreshing and delicious. I followed that up with the Eastern Medicine cocktail and the flavor is truly special. We went on to eat their Brussel sprouts, artichoke parm, French fries, everything was delicious. They also treated me to a birthday dessert of little canolis in different flavors that I shared with my friends. In this pub the atmosphere is such a vibe, they play great music, and they know how to make you feel special. Will be back soon! P.S: ask Tommy at the bar how he gets the flavor out of the mint sprigs! You might be surprised. 🤭

Cafe Nola is a trendy eatery in downtown Frederick that offers an art-filled atmosphere and a variety of creative cocktails. They pride themselves on using organic ingredients and providing vegetarian options for their customers. They source their coffee from ChocoSombra, a local roaster known for their consistent flavor and quality. Alongside their delicious coffee, they serve a mouthwatering menu of breakfast meals, sandwiches, and salads, including vegan recipes.
Stopped by for the first time in 6 years. Prior to today, I had enjoyed the live music and crafty drinks in the nighttime hours. Today I realized that they were one of very few places open for breakfast/brunch during the week. I stopped in, ran into some old acquaintances, was seated immediately, and waited on promptly. I ordered eggs Benedict and a coffee. I was great. Exactly what I needed to get the day going. I'm really happy with the way things went today.

I've heard tons of great things about this place and I thought I'd try it out. But to be honest, I wasn't very impressed. I guess I had higher expectations since I've heard so many good things but it really wasn't that amazing. Don't get me wrong it wasn't bad at all! Just not anything to be wowed about. My boyfriend and I got brunch. We got a crab dip to start which I do have to say was seriously really really good crab dip, best thing we got. He got the breakfast Burrito which he thought was pretty good. And I got the hash which it was OK but again it didn't impress me. Our waitress was nice but she would disappear for long periods of time and when we saw her she never bothered to look our way. I had to ask other staff members to get us things. Cute spot and they have a nice selection of lattes but other then that just alright.

This was our second visit to Cafe Nola. The first time we were turned away, told they weren't seating anyone else that afternoon. Needless to say we were anxious to try this hot spot. We were sat right next to the door, which was unfortunate, as an icy draft came in every time someone entered or exited. My date got coffee, but I was told they were out of Diet Coke, and had no other sugar free options, so water it was. I was told the coffee was excellent. Later she got a Cafe Mocha, which apparently was also great. We started with the Southwest eggrolls, with a smokey tomato mayo. They were crispy and delicious. I ordered the bagel and lox sandwich with fried capers. The bagel should have been toasted, but otherwise it was very good. The pickled onions were a nice touch. That's where the good ends. My date ordered the coffee rubbed steak and eggs. She said the coffee was gritty and unpleasant in her mouth, the steak was otherwise unseasoned, and very watery. As she cut into her steak, the entire plate was a pool of liquid, making the eggs and potatoes soggy. Our service was very underwhelming. Our server was not very pleasant, never checked on us to see how we liked our food, and when he came to collect our dishes and saw the steak had barely been touched, didn't inquire or offer a to-go box. Would probably return for coffee and apps, but was not impressed with much else. Lunch for two was $60.

My Review is based on a short visit. I came in to pick up a friend and we sat around chatting for about 15 mins before we had to leave. I plan on going back for one of their fun nights and experience all this place had to offer. For the short time I was there, I was impressed by the different activities they have going on through out the week. Trivia nights, Karaoke and a load of other activities. The vibe is very chill and there is seating at the bar too. The walls are covered in beautiful art and this Cafe is the perfect place to chill get some work done (if you like background noise while working). Will definitely be visiting again for a wholesome experience.

Amazing service. Dirty Chai is a must. The chorizo hash was very filling but the potatoes were undercooked and under seasoned. Quaint, parking was free early morning and the atmosphere was warm. Horror movie on the tv at the bar was a strange vibe 👀for breakfast.

Solid five stars. I've been here at least ten times now and they are impeccably consistent. I order a mocha and they are not to heavy on the syrup. The milk froth is so well emulsified that the foam has an almost creamy thick texture. They also have a good espresso pull and properly roasted beans that must be roasted each morning. For food I have been impressed with the technique and constancy of the home fries. They are evenly cooked chunks of potato with a fluffy center and browned and crisped on the outside forming a crust. I can't tell if they are air fried but there is no leftover oil from its baking or frying making it a perfect pallate to scoop up the many sauces and leftovers from the plates of food. The Italian eggs Benedict is not over powered by the pesto as I thought, as I avoided it the first few times I had visited. It's a light and fresh addition to help cut the hollandaise which was not as heavy as other diner hollandaise. It is very light and packed with air so you know it was whipped to order, not sitting under a heat lamp. Very delicious food with good portions. I am correctly missing a photo of the Italian Benedict because I was not expecting to do a review of it ;)

Nice spot located in Downtown Frederick. You can find parking at the nearby Carol Creek library parking garage or street side meter parking. The food was delicious, decor was colorful and highlighted that everyone was welcome, server was attentive without being overbearing. I had the shrimp and grits which surprisingly had real sized shrimp instead of the popcorn shrimp that most places serve. My only complaint was that the grits were too lumpy for my Southern taste.

Fabulous shrimp & grits! As good as New Orleans! Best spicy Bloody Mary I have had in a while. Sat at the bar, great service by Casey !

Great menu variety and cool restaurant! The food was really good! Only thing was it could get a bit noisy and difficult to hear but otherwise great!

Visited on a cold, snowy day and everyone was welcoming and friendly. The German Chocolate Latte was perfect in every way.

Went for brunch today, I ordered the vegan hash, and the vegetarian sausage gravy, it was amazing! I also ordered the ninja turtle latte and it was delicious. But the best part of the visit was Micah, our server. She was so nice, very attentive, and has the most beautiful smile!
