Non-profit organization
Lynn Meadows Discovery Center is a fun-filled place for children and their families to explore. A huge variety of interactive exhibits keep the kids entertained while they learn about different cultures. The outdoor play area is perfect for playing tag, learning how to balance a checkerboard, or exploring the sand piles!
My kids loved this place! So many interactive displays and games. We stayed for several hours. Many people had memberships. It's nice that you can go in the morning and then go eat lunch and come back you just need to save your receipt for re-entry.

What an asset for the Mississippi Gulf Coast! We took my 2 yr old grandson at the discounted price after 3pm not knowing if it would be worth it or have enough to entertain him. We will be purchasing a membership & frequenting! He was mesmerized at all the interests he enjoys just his size which enabled him to engage his imagination …the trains, boats, crane, slide & paint were all a hit! Every staff member was amazing. Highly recommend especially if you are looking for an activity away from the heat and electronics this summer!

If you have young kids, this is a must visit in Gulfport Ms. We just spent almost 5 hours doing all the different hands-on activities. Learning through play is so much fun.
Kristi Andrews — Google review
Lynn Meadows is a great place to take your younger kids to spend the day. The inside area is setup in the cutest sections. Each individual section has costumes that can be worn to really make this an immersive experience. Once we looked in all the sections inside we went outside to play in the tree houses and run around. Finished off the afternoon by going back inside to cool down and do some watercolor art in the art room.
Kristi Tanner — Google review
This place is fun, simple, expressive, and stimulating for children and adults. The hands-on to the learning and playing is so fantastic. It was enjoyable on so many levels, not only for my 5yo, and 10 yo, but myself as well. It truly is a place where children can be children and play like kids.
Rachelle Johnson — Google review
My family and I went to celebrate my three year olds birthday and she had so much fun exploring. The exhibits have her plenty to play with in a safe environment. He younger brother could even join in the fun at the 4 and under area. Great for burning your kids energy. We only stayed for two hours but got to see a lot of the center. Definitely recommend for families with young children. Older kids can have fun too. We'll be trying to come back to check out more of what they offer here.

Such a great morning! Inside and out! My granddaughters,2 & 10 each had great fun at their own pace... lovely staff. Facility was clean and organized 💝

We had an absolute blast. So many levels and areas with different agendas. My daughter is 3 and my niece is 8, and it was amusing and entertaining for both. Pictures for fun .

A great hands on experience for kids of every age. The TV studio was my boys favourite area. $12 bucks a head for admission. Well worth the two hours of enjoyment.

So much fun! We came to Mississippi for my wife’s job for about a month, and we decided to go here with our daughter and we absolutely loved it! So much to do, we didn’t get to do the outside part but we definitely wanna come back to do the outside! Well worth the money, we spent at least an hour or two on just the inside. If you’re in town I definitely recommend this place!

BEST KEPT SECRET in Biloxi!! We LOVE this Museum/ play place!! It’s the MOST FUN we’ve had together in a long time!! She LET LOOSE!! It’s super clean, the Staff is amazing, and the Attention to detail blew our minds!! We’re going back soon!! She loves the Newscaster/ Weather Station with the GREEN Screen the BEST!! It’s a full studio! We spent three hours, but could have stayed all day! Kudos!!

Lots of fun. We spent all afternoon there. The kids never seem to tire of the activities offered. And the best the staff picks up the toys.

I loved it probably more then my kids did. Right when you walk through the door the front desk was amazing explaining what they have for the kids to do and told us just let them run around and be kids. They have a great selection for sensory as well as learning activities for the kids.

Took my grandson, who is 4 for the first time. He absolutely loved it. My daughter, who is 29, came with us. She has fond memories of when she went at the age of 5. They both had a great time. My grandson, making memories and my daughter reminiscing. ❤️ my son and I enjoyed watching those two have fun. Definitely. An amazing place to take ur little ones.

Institute For Marine Mammal Studies

Mentioned on
Non-profit organization
Zoos & Aquariums
The Institute For Marine Mammal Studies is a reservation-based marine education center that offers interactive exhibits, touch pools, and programs featuring dolphins. It provides an enjoyable experience with a beautiful layout and knowledgeable staff who offer wonderful animal experiences. Although not as large as an aquarium, it features a ray pool which is a favorite among visitors seeking respite from summer temperatures. It's affordable to visit and offers close-up encounters with sea lions and dolphins that are particularly exciting for children.
This is a very fun place to go. We had an experience with the dolphins and the sea lion which I very whole heartedly suggest to do. It’s a bit pricy but an experience you will never forget! How many times in your life do you get to act like a Biologist without the schooling it’s lots of fun. We had a great time!! The staff are awesome and will answer every question you ask them. Hats off to the owner for having a great staff!! The only thing I would change is let the person that had to change into their bathing suit should be able to change their bathing suit when they are done to the same room they started with instead of a cramped stall in a public restroom with no privacy! Other than that it was great time!
David Tipton — Google review
Fantastic Double Birthday Celebration! We booked the Dolphin interaction experience for all the kids which included a private sea lion show for all to enjoy. Many thanks to the incredible team for their accommodating efforts ( Sonya, Anna & Emily). Wonderful memories- worth every penny! 💗
Jennifer Niolet — Google review
One of the best aquariums we have visited. Extremely memorable and lots of interaction!
Stephanie Walster — Google review
We visited in July and my son with special needs was treated amazing by staff. He did the dolphin encounter with Ellie and she went above and beyond for him. Everyone did, down to the employee who walked us there! Thanks to Mr. Moby for getting Cade here and seeing and nurturing his love for marine life!
Maegan Richard — Google review
It was smaller than I expected but nice. The trainers and dolphins 🐬 were awesome. But $4 for a powerade 😳 I'll drink that pool water that splashed me. But a great experience for the kids. Very informative speakers. The speakers 🔊 in the ray pool house 🙉 you can't hear, plus the kids yelping.
Roger Redd — Google review
This was the 2nd time were at the Marine Institute. My daughter's Stingray Swim was a great experience! Matt, the worker that was instructing my daughter was amazing. It happened that she was the only one doing this experience at our time slot, so it was very personal. Matt was very personable, friendly, and knowledgeable. Took the time to answer any questions we had. The experience feeding the rays and sharks was great! My daughter had a fantastic time and wants to eventually do the dolphin encounter (wanted to do that today, but the time we wanted was full). We also fed the parakeets. So fun. Had 4 land on us at a time. The only downside was we paid extra to be a "spectator" during our daughter's experience. It felt pointless when other guests came into ray pool area during her experience. I feel we would've have had to pay extra (other than we wouldn't have gotten to get first hand explanation of the rays and sharks). Overall, it was an amazing day. 😀

Don’t let the gift shop clerk discourage you, this place is AWESOME!! Ask questions and save at least an hour for the discovery center! Great value, great learning opportunity, wonderful and knowledgeable staff.
Jimmy B — Google review
Very informative presentations. Place was clean for us and the animals. We happen to go 2/21. We were with 2 student groups, students were polite and paying attention. ...Hats off to their teachers for good leadership.
Jane Harris — Google review
First I would like to say..they rescue and help sick and stranded marine critters. They don't abuse or torture. It's a place they use to teach young girls and boys about marine life.so they will grow up and respect it.. It cost money to help and care for these critters ...so just know you are helping to save dolphins and sea turtles..and all the other critters. A great bargain if you ask me.. The people are great and helpful.wonderful place...Thank you...
Ned Snean — Google review
Amazing place and mission! The kids love it and we sent our daughter to the summer camp here one year.
Destiny & Crew — Google review
My mother and I visited here from Kentucky. We did the sea lion kiss and dolphin encounter. The staff were very friendly. You could see their compassion with helping the mammals. We loved every bit of our visit!
Kory Haas — Google review
A wonderful place to visit. It’s not crowded, has a beautiful layout. Granted it’s not as big as an aquarium, but they are very knowledgeable about the animals and have wonderful experiences for people to experience. The ray pool was my favorite, plus it’s a nice way to catch a break from summer temps. You won’t break the bank with a visit. It was fun to watch the little ones see dolphins and sea lions up close. The parakeets are so much fun to watch.
Perkins Family (Key Lime) — Google review
Wow what an amazing little gem! Affordable for our family of 6 and we had experiences we will never forget! The dolphin show was incredible and we had so much fun feeding the birds and touching the sting rays!
Sabrina Marie Wagner — Google review
Phenomenal Experience! Truly a hidden gem that I wouldn't pass up. The place is clean, with a fantastic schedule of events, affordable pricing & the staff are stupendous! In the museum you can dig for real sand shark teeth (even my older kiddos enjoyed this.) Every staff member is eager to teach & answer questions. When your here you can attend: snakes & gators talk, sting rays talk, dolphin show, sea lion show, and bird show; all last about 10 minutes but are open for questions for all curious minds (that means adults too.) They also have encounters which include the general admission in the cost. They have anything from dolphin kisses, dolphin encounters to hanging out with the string rays. As my daughter wants a career with animals I signed her up for Job Shadow. I can't speak for the other experiences offered but the Job Shadow experience was absolutely extraordinary! She was able to learn first hand from the trainers & experts themselves. They shared there love & knowledge of the job while making it fun & educational! If you have a kiddo that loves animals the way mine does I wouldn't hesitate and go make the day of their dreams come true, like mine. 🧡

My friend and I stopped in on Sour Sunday! She did some research and this was a place to stop when in town and I definitely agree! It's a seat yourself, order at the bar place. The food was so good! The bartender was adorable! They also had live music! I would make time to come back if I'm ever here again! (:
Markie Caine — Google review
Always love visiting a new brewery in our travels. Our experience at Chandeleur Brewery was great! Friendly and efficient servers provided the start of a nice late afternoon of beers. My husband and I ordered the Leo and Freemason. Both beers met out taste and, of course, we had another or three! Our fav was the Freemason. Fresh, light on the palette and and nice beer to drink while listening to the music! I love beer more than my husband but he goes along with my past time! Definitely visit Chandeleur Brewery! You won’t be disappointed by the beer at all!
Susan Friederich — Google review
We have been here several times and it is always nice. My husband likes to get flights, I get a seltzer. Inside is clean, friendly service. Games for the little ones & a cool fish tank. There are a few picnic tables if you prefer to sit outside.

1 st time here! What a great experience! Great beer, delicious and unique food! Friendly and prompt service. Enjoyed music act today!! THANK YOU for kicking off our mardi gras season off in style!
c knopp — Google review
Top notch beer. I found the Loretta to be not so good, but minus that, 2 flights of 6 later, noting disappointed. Ole Buddy and Lil Smack do not disappoint. If you like sours, they have plenty. I would rec the Ginger Raspberry only because I love ginger and there is plenty in it.
Zach Watson — Google review
This is a Woman managed & woman brewed brewery. And that's awesome on it's own. They also make pretty good beer. TBH, if I was just rating the beer, it would be 4 stars. But I'm not. I get to rate facility, staff, swag and more! And Chandeleur excels in those. Facility is nice and spacious with plenty of seating, staff was great, especially the brewer Jessica who was kind enough to give us an impromptu tour. Also great swag options with lots of color :) I would definitely go back to this brewery.
Corey Strock — Google review
We were super happy with the flights and variety of beer. They have a tasty looking food menu. We had the bread and butter board appetizer and it was great!
Calli S — Google review
Wonderful brewery. Sort of hard to find. Parking is somewhat limited. Very friendly staff. Lots of beer and hard seltzer items to choose from. They have small bites food but we didn’t eat. We had a flight of 8 because we wanted to sample as many as we could. All of them were tasty.
Sharon Hartmann — Google review
Nice brewpub, with many in-house beers on tap to try. Most of the on tap choices were sour beers, and a few IPAs. The others were a wide variety of styles. My personal favorite was the "Tarponator", a rich malty doppelboch. Clean and neat with an interesting industrial decor. Staff was friendly and helpful.
Kurt Westerlund — Google review
Had a Freemason over at Murkey Water BBQ and noticed this brewery was nearby. They offer 4 or 6 beer flights. Different varieties, great atmosphere, and the beers are excellent.
Haydar Kiran — Google review
Great area. Friendly staff. Definitely worth checking out

Nice place... Great location, lots of drink choices. I had the "Loretta" Amber Ale which was excellent. Very friendly staff, I definitely recommend you give it a try!
John Sones — Google review
Great brews here. Fun place to hang out and have a beer. We had the nachos and they are homemade chips covered with cheese and chorizo. They were unique and delicious. Bar keep was friendly and helpful. They have games to play and the decor is different. Cost $ not bad at all.
Starlight Lifter — Google review
We have visited multiple times. Each time the food has been really good! The vibe is awesome! Dogs are allowed inside and out. They usually have live music and it’s always good. The beer selection is huge. People are super friendly. It’s a great place to chill with friends!

I stopped in here one evening with an acquaintance after dinner and had a pint. This is a great place to relax and enjoy a beer after your week is over. The people it attracts are chill and good times are sure to ensue.

My family and I wanted to get out of the house and get some walking in, this place was perfect! We got to also window shop without having to worry about the 3 kids touching things. So much fun, we found a few things we wanted and got some much needed walking in! The layout of this makes it perfect to walk, also.

Great outlet stores, great deals and most of the outlet stores! Be prepared to spend a lot of time walking and shopping, all kinds of stores to visit and most have great deals, you can find almost anything you need here!

The Gulfport Premium Outlets is not quite as large as some but is every bit as nice or nicer than any other we have visited. Almost all of the major brands are represented. The grounds are kept very clean and well manicured. All of the store staff and mall personnel are very welcoming. A fun place to shop.

Love shopping here! Lots of amazing stores & sales! Every time! Always clean in and around all stores. Clean restrooms. Very helpful and professional employees hired for these stores. Excellent customer service. We did back to school shopping yesterday and had an awesome experience as always. Our son got lots of new clothes and shoes at great prices! Good sales in Bath & Body Works, Under Armor, Nike, etc. Mama even got some new Ray Bans for Sunglasses Hut! This is a must visit place for shopping.

This place is a bit hit and miss, but for me, since I like the lee/wrangler outlet, it's always a good experience. They actually have good deals there! Call ahead to places if you're military; seems like most places offer a discount on Tuesdays but some choose their own day.

This is a nice mall, not real big. It is very easy to jump off and back on the interstate. All the stores are separated individually and you enter all of them outside. Most of the stores here are bigger name brands .

The well-maintained, spacious layout enhances the overall shopping atmosphere. The discounts and deals available on premium products make it a haven for savvy shoppers seeking quality at a reasonable price. Excellent customer service and a variety of dining options contribute to an enjoyable and indulgent day of retail therapy. Recently, I have fallen in love with Coach handbags and accessories! So when I traveled to Biloxi and Gulfport recently, I decided to visit the outlet mall and the Coach store. The sales reps were very friendly and I found a cute crossbody to wear on the remainder of my trip. This store is much bigger than my store in Leeds, which meant more choices. Overall, I had a great experience here and plan to shop here again on my next trip to this area.
Rikesha Foster — Google review
Very clean outlet mall with plenty of parking. Customer service at Michael Kors was excellent. My wife found exactly what she was looking for, and the sales lady went out of her way to make her feel comfortable shopping there. There was not many people at the mall so parking was great.

It wasn’t to busy when we got there everything was clean so were the restrooms. I always go here to get my jeans for work. And my grandson was in love with the pineapple gift shop . He’s 11 and was quizzing the guys about video games. We all had a nice time

TrainTastic! formerly: Mississippi Coast Model Railroad Museum

Mentioned on
Rail museum
Museums
Specialty Museums
The Mississippi Coast Model Railroad Museum boasts an extensive collection of model train layouts in different scales, including G scale trains on elevated and ground levels. The museum also features interactive layouts for children to operate and enjoy, as well as outdoor garden displays and themed exhibits such as Jurassic Park and Futurama. Moreover, it is home to the largest LEGO(R) railroad display in Mississippi with over 2 million pieces.
My toddler is obsessed with trains, which is what brought us here. But we all ended up loving it. They have a large museum with indoor and outdoor areas. There is a train to play on outside and several trains you can ride. The indoor displays have model trains and legos from wall to wall. Inside they have scavenger hunt lists of things to find in the displays and my older kids enjoyed that. There is so much to see and the staff are so friendly. You can tell they love what they do. My baby was so excited at every turn. Will definitely be back and would recommend it to anyone. They also do events like birthday parties.
Amanda Edgar — Google review
This museum was a wonderful place for our kids! If your child has even a slightest interest in trains, this place deserves a visit or two! There are many locomotives🚂 train moving through low and high, and the scenes are well decorated and designed. But there are more! Just behind the building is where various rides and more locomotives can be found. Dinosaur themed and spaceship themed locomotives were pretty cool, I thought. And the train rides were able to give our family a lift no problem and I was VERY pleasantly surprised because of the sheer weight the train could carry and move around the tract. Probably the limiting factor would be one’s widths, not weight, if you know what I mean haha😂
Cedar The Dentist — Google review
Quite enjoyable. Took grandkids 5,5,3,1 and they really enjoyed it. Adults want to spend more time finding the fun Easter eggs (alien standing in line for the movie) all through the displays... But young ones take a look and push on. Train rides, hand crank engines and play area was well done. They just opened at this new location but they're doing a great job, I look forward to returning to see in the future.
Mark Turner — Google review
This place is just as cool as everyone says!! I have kids 4 and under, and I was nervous that they wouldn’t really care much for the models and that we would be done walking through in 15 minutes. We ended up staying for over 3 HOURS, and my kids were still begging to stay longer! In addition to all the fun models, there are tons of things for kids. They have an indoor playground, play train cars, a train for individual kids on a moveable track, tons of train sets to tinker with, a green-screen setup that puts you into a model train setup, and even a battery-powered model train with a track you can design yourself! There’s another “real” train outside for the whole family and some fun train bicycles on a track as well. My kids aren’t huge into trains, but they LOVED it, and I would definitely recommend it to anyone with small kids. The facilities were clean and all of the workers were very friendly and knowledgeable too!! We had a great time.
Kira Herman — Google review
What a great museum! Staff was very friendly and had lots of information to share. Plan on spending at a couple hours here. Lots of fun interactive things for children to do. Great price of $5 for admission.
Jackie Wolgamott — Google review
As model railroad fans we were eager to visit, as this place has appeared in local news cycles as far away as the Florida panhandle, where we live. I will say that TrainTastic is much larger than any of us anticipated. There was a fair bit of variety in the displays, from vintage O gauge Lionel, to modern N scale, to Lego trains, to obscure S scale American Flyer, to HO scale comprising the bulk of displays. One thing I am not quite sure is how they are claiming to be the "world's largest", as Miniatur Wunderland (Germany) and EnterTrainment Junction (Ohio, USA) are both larger model train exhibits. I am merely speculating, but it looks like most of the displays here are actually just the local Mississippi Coast Model Railroad Club members' personal displays moved into this new TrainTastic space. There is a large scale children's railroad outdoor for children to ride, a children's play area, STEM area, birthday rooms, and various empty areas for expansion. The two big takeaways for me are: 1) There is a lot incomplete; particularly the large main area display where the main exhibit modeling Gulfport is incomplete, and, 2) There is actually a lack of working/moving train models on the model layouts. While there were a few moving models, it was usually just one locomotive and a car or two. There were no models of actual long trains with at least a half dozen cars. I think the longest train models on display were actually the older Lionel O-gauge (unsurprisingly the most reliable). I would definitely have liked to see some more model trains of full length. Almost half of the model displays were just stagnant on our visit with no moving trains. For the price, I definitely think the visit is worth it. We spent over an hour here, even without any children to ride the large scale train or play in the play areas. The gift shop was pretty big, although I would have liked to see actual model trains for sale other than ready-to-run kits they sell (individual cars or locomotives for sale would have been cool, and also would be compatible with the ready-to-run kits already for sale). We purchased our tickets in advance, although the ticketing machine had trouble reading them, so the ticket attendant had to manually lookup our order. Maybe in due time I could see ourselves coming back if we find ourselves in the area (or if Mississippi Coast Model Railroad Club ever decides to hold a model train show again - particularly utilizing all this new event space they have).

So cute! We took our 15 month old here on Mother’s Day and we loved it! It had cute little train rides for the kids and so many trains to look at! If you love model trains this is a place for you!

We are absolutely in love with Traintastic! We have been multiple times now and every experience is so much fun. There is so much to see that you find something new every time you go. My 4 year old boy loves to watch the model trains for hours. The entire facility is so interactive for train lovers of all ages. The kids area is definitely a favorite and the outdoor train ride is SO much fun! Above all- the staff is so kind and welcoming. They make the museum so magical. Thankful for such a clean and safe place to play and learn!

This was pretty interesting. It's not what you're expecting but definitely worth your time. So many cool set ups. Our family from age 4 to 40 enjoyed everything, including the train ride. This is definitely a must see.

A friend recommended this place for us to bring our kids to, and it did not disappoint. If you're in the Gulfport area with kids or anyone who loves trains or Lego, then this place is a must visit. There are interactive sections of the museum and play areas for the kids. There is even a train you can ride! All included in your entry. It's only $5/adult & $2/child 3-12.

I personally love museums and this one was definitely worth it in my opinion. I’m a lover of builds, the detail that was put into a lot of the models was amazing. They even have a rideable train that you and your kids can ride! 10/10 fun for the family.

If you or anyone in your orbit is a fan of trains, model trains, miniatures, fantasy lands, or anything else fun, you're going to love this spot! It's especially great for kids, but the guys who put this place together are dedicated volunteers who spend YEARS building these amazing displays, and it's a great spot for anyone of any age to appreciate excellent craftsmanship.

Italian restaurant
Nestled in Gulfport, Salute Italian Restaurant is an industrial-chic eatery that offers a blend of exceptional service, mouthwatering food, and a manager who adds a special touch to the dining experience. Despite its bustling atmosphere, this popular spot attracts diners with its combination of quality and affordability. Notably, their lunch specials offer a variety of delicious options for under ten dollars, pleasing both regulars and newcomers alike.
Definitely worth it! This place is right across from the beach. It is elegant, yet you are welcome with beach attire. Very friendly and professional staff. I tried the gumbo, and it blew me away! Gumbo at an Italian restaurant? I know! But it was tasty! Our waitress was friendly and spot on with the service. The price was reasonable and the portions were healthy. This is definitely worth investigating!

Fantastic experience- went for Sunday brunch and went back for dinner the next day. Wait staff was attentive but not disruptive, food was delicious and you must try the grits. I could go on and on but since we went back the next day- that should tell you it all. Its an experience you need to have. The live band was a great touch

Mr. Rob, the owner, came out to our table and talked to us personally. The food was authentic and tasted amazing. Staff was available without being obnoxious. I would highly recommend this restaurant to anyone wanting Italian or seafood.

Excellent service, delicious food, reasonable prices and a really nice atmosphere. You can't beat the value. The portion sizes on the lunch menu are quite generous for only $9.99. When you walk into the restaurant, it has the look and feel of a very high-end establishment, but most of the patrons were dressed casually. I highly recommend this place.

Very good food, I enjoyed the Veal Salute with the Alfredo pasta and a variation on a Martini. They had a small children friendly menu, Chicken and fries, spaghetti and meatballs etcetera. My grand daughter loved the Alfredo Pasta. (Shown in the photo) For 3 adults and one child, a bottle of wine, and a martini the bill came out to be around $150 not including the tip. Overall, this was a very good experience, with excellent food, and great staff. 10/10

I was skeptical about trying this place, I'm not a big fan of Italian food, but my coworker made me go one day, and I love it. The food and the price you pay for the meals are great. My kids, my husband, love the tomato basil cream. I mean, we all love it 😀

The food was great. Dishes ordered: oyster appetizer, chicken Parmesan, Caesar salad with shrimp. We had to wait about 15 minutes for a table for lunch on a Friday. There is nice landscaped areas outside with benches or a luxurious lobby for waiting. They have a $9.99 lunch special going on now with a huge variety of items. They serve free fresh bread with pesto and olive oil for dipping is on the table. The Caesar dressing tasted freshly made and was delicious. The chicken Parmesan usually is fried, but, was grilled and served with zoodles by request. Will definitely come back.

Nice atmosphere, excellent Italian restaurant. Bread was a thick french bread with a green dipping/spread. The bread was fresh and the sauce was tasty. We had fried mozzarella triangles that were huge, they were well worth the appetizer price. Also had a spinach dip with natural chips. The spinach dip was very creamy, no bitterness at all. 3 entrees were spaghetti and huge meatballs, grilled seafood plate, chicken alfredo. It was a ton of food for 80.00 dollars. The coffee was nice an smooth also. Generally we had a very enjoyable dinner. The blonde waitress was super nice and attentive.

Food was good, service was slower, but very friendly and nice. I really enjoyed their Jambalaya soup! The rest of it seemed a little pricey compared to the quality, but we enjoyed ourselves and like the building and atmosphere. We'll try it again next time we're back in the area.

Very nice place to eat. We had a large party of 13 friends. The resturant accommodated us with no hassle. Staff and servers were so nice. But what about food you say. Really good. Shrimp scampi was a hit. Flounder special was great. Can’t remember other dishes but everyone was happy. If you can satisfy 13 people you know it’s good.

Great restaurant! Me and my friends came a few days before Christmas. We ordered fried mozzarella as our appetizer probably some of the best we ever had. I ordered the lasagna which was amazing, perfect amount of sauce cheese was nice and stringy. They ordered a meat pizza and seafood manicotti. They said it was really good. We also got dessert i ordered the tiramisu which was a really good size portion great flavor. The atmosphere was really relaxed even though they were busy the night we visited, there was even a live singer singing christmas songs. The hostess was very attentive and even gave us suggestions on what we should try. 9/10 will definitely be back.

Looking for fine dining experience? You have found it. Large menu with lots of variety not only Italian items. Had a little bit of a wait for 5 guest. We sat outside and service was a bit slower outside than inside but was okay. Everyone’s meal was perfect. Definitely a returning customer.

We drove to MS on Monday to go to lunch with a dear friend of ours. Jenifer Enright recommended a restaurant that she really liked, Salute Italian Restaurant, and we are glad we went there. It's a very nice restaurant, very spacious, clean, well-lit, decorative and, from the number of people eating there on Monday, a VERY popular restaurant. We made our selections from the $10.00 Lunch Menu. Jenifer said not to wonder if there were small portions because they gave you a lot of food. She was right. At the end of the meal, we were "stuffed." The food was delicious, well portioned and, when you first see it on your plate, you want to dig in immediately. There is a "presentation" that chefs use when they place food on a plate to be pleasing to the customer. This chef knows presentation. Stephanie was our waitress and she was so nice and very attentive throughout our time there, periodically checking to make sure we were happy. She never stopped, constantly moving from table to table. A wonderful waitress. We had a terrific lunch experience at Salute Italian Restaurant in Gulfport, MS and we hope to go back again.

1st time tonight for my daughter's birthday. Service was very good & so was the food. I just wish the bread and mozzarella sticks had that crispy texture. I will definitely be back. They have a live singer. The atmosphere was great!!

Great lunch spot! Service was quick, friendly and efficient. The prices are fantastic for the quality of food that you're going to receive! The lunch menu is extensive and surely has something that you'll enjoy. It's always busy, so you might have to fight for a parking spot, but it'll be worth it. If you can get here for Sunday brunch, you won't be sorry!

We've eaten here around 10 times now. Never had a bad experience. Food is delicious, unique, and amazing quality. We've always received good service. We've enjoyed eating out on the balcony on beautiful days and inside on wet/windy days. The kids meal portions are generous. We've been pleased with the various things we've ordered each time including fish tacos, seafood fries, fried green tomatoes, burgers. Would definitely recommend. Decent pricing for a good seafood restaurant.

Maddy and the team were A-MA-ZING! We arrived 10 minutes before closing, and they INSISTED that we stay! They served us with the same patience and smiles we would expect at 12pm! We were extremely appreciative! 😃

Had lunch here on a Saturday and loved everything about it. Although the place was busy, we sat down fairly quickly. Carlee and Damien were our servers and they recommended some delicious dishes. They were super nice as was the rest of the staff as well. The food Was incredible! We had the tuna stuffed avocados, the seafood fries, bacon wrapped shrimp and snapper over a bed of Elote . They had an excellent selection of craft beers too. Cheers to everyone who makes this place so special! can’t wait to go back.

We were passing through on vacation and found this gem! Nathan and Beth were our bartenders and they were HANDS DOWN the best! I had a shrimp trio platter and my husband had the flounder platter. Both were excellent and we were stuffed! The drinks were delicious and the atmosphere was perfect for our one night getaway! We will definitely be back!

Had lunch much with my husband here today while in the area. I didn’t like the sauce with my coconut shrimp but the staff tried several things to get a sauce right for me. I did end up enjoying what I got and appreciate the staff trying to get me a sauce to enjoy with my meal! My husband had the royal reds. Would go back again if ever in the area again.

Great spot across the street from the beach. Awesome atmosphere. Service was great. Food was excellent. We got the fried green tomatoes, Shrimp trio and King Red Shrimp. I love the fact they are dog friendly on the deck area and even have a mini dog menu. They have cornhole to play while you wait and offer drinks at a discount while you wait for your table.

Shaggy’s Gulfport Beach was great! The atmosphere was fantastic with outdoor seating and windows facing the gulf. It just looks like one of those beach restaurants you want to eat at. Now to the food. The food was good as well, but the proportions were off from other restaurant prices and proportions we had. The Royal Reds dish was great but lacked everything except the shrimp! I had a good bit of large shrimp but not hardly anything else that goes with it such as potatoes sausage. We enjoyed Shaggy’s Gulfport Beach but will consider alternatives due to the food proportions and price.

Worth the hype. Nice, fun vacation environment and the food is GOOD! I ordered the grilled shrimp platter and whatever they season it with is just *chefs kiss* we went for my uncles birthday.I’m from up north where restaurants sing happy birthday like they’re falling asleep but not in Mississippi. The staff did it with full on energy. The whole experience was great. The staff was amazing, the food was great and the prices were reasonable. Loved it so much that me and my sister ordered more food from here to eat on our way back to Ohio. This will be my go to spot next time I come to Gulfport

Our hostess Sierra was exceptional from walking into the door to sitting at the table. She handled our drinks while waiting and even when she seated us, which is a first-time experience for us. I had the snapper with lobster mac & cheese, and the Mrs. had the yellowfin tuna bowl. We did not have any leftovers to take home, as we are every bite. Our daughter are every last shrimp in her plate. My only complaint was the kid's mac & cheese was most likely the "box" variety, but they happily removed it from our ticket. Not really a complaint! Exceptional food, exceptional service, exceptional atmosphere. We will return. I might return just for the lobster mac & cheese. I shared with everyone at the table, and we all loved it.

When we shared with people we were staying in Gulfport, several recommended Shaggy's and it did not disappoint! Received excellent service from Serenity (she cheerfully put up with my husband's old man rambling)! The food was excellent! I had ahi tuna stuffed avocados and she crab soup (a must try if you've never had it!). My husband had crab stuffed flounder. We will definitely be visiting again!

Great meal by the water. Food was excellent; we got “beach balls” as our appetizer, my wife ordered crab cakes, and I ordered Royal Reds. Fantastic food. The Royal Reds dish was spicy, which they warned me about, but for me it was perfect. The service was also excellent. It seemed like their staff was all on the same page. Great spot. If you’re in Gulfport you should go eat here one evening.

I arrived in Mississippi from Canada today and in 2 hours found this restaurant while walking around the neighborhood close to the hotel I'm staying at. Let me tell you, my heart is absolutely full. Yes, the food is amazing but the people made it a whole lot better. I wish I got everyone's name. It was Johnathan's first day and I had to give him a hug before I left....he's a natural. I couldn't believe how friendly everyone was. It's amazing. People are so wonderful. Definitely returning before again before my trip ends.

I'm sad to say while visiting the area this was the best place we had seafood from. It has that Key West vibe and a party vibe. However, our service was spectacular and the food great. Awesome views of the Gulf from this establishment. We didn't realize it was a chain, but we would go back again and again for the food.

Half Shell Oyster House is an elegant yet laid-back restaurant and bar that specializes in Southern-style seafood. Its menu features a variety of dishes including oysters, po' boys, steak, cocktails and Voodoo tacos. The shrimp tacos are particularly noteworthy as they have just the right amount of spice and flavor. The restaurant also serves gumbo which pairs well with any meal.
My partner and I have visited this location several times and it is consistently great. The food is fresh, well seasoned, and delicious. We’ve tried many of the items on the menu but the standouts are the oysters Rockefeller, Royal Reds, Fried shrimp, and the Redfish Orleans. You cannot go wrong with any of them. They don’t take reservations so you may wait a bit but it’s never been more than 30 minutes. Enjoy!

Half Shell Oyster House has gone above and beyond any expectation that I could ever hold for a restaurant. The oysters are delicious! My personal favorite are the Oyster Orleans. I would highly recommend this restaurant to my closest friends and family.

When I saw "Voodoo tacos" on the menu while looking for a spot for lunch, I had to try this place. My stomach led me to the best shrimp tacos I have ever had. They had the right amount of kick to them, they were flavorful, and with a side of gumbo, this meal was one of the best I enjoyed while in the area. Paired with a Lazy Magnolia Southern Pecan as well as a vintage bank setting and this place is the full monty. Do not pass this place up if you are in the area.

Since I'm from the Midwest we don't really have much of an opportunity for good fresh saltwater seafood. While in Gulfport I figured I should try the local seafood while I was looking for a small bite later in the evening. This restaurant had good reviews and I see why. Both the oysters Rockefeller and the crab cakes were fantastic, and they have a good solid old fashioned as well. I'd choose the place again given the chance. Highly recommended.

Arrived a little earlier before my cousins, and I was told that they dont sit until half the party is there, which makes sense. Had a few minutes, so i went to the bar area to get a drink. Bartender was nowhere to be found for a good 7 minutes. By the time the bartender showed up again, my party was there. Was seated immediately. Our waitress Taylor came over to get our drink order. I already knew what I wanted because i had viewed the drink menu on their website earlier in the day. I told Taylor that I wanted the Cocnut Limeade. She stated that they didn't have that, and maybe I was talking about another cocnut drink. I said no, the drink advertised on your website is called the Coconut Limeade. She told me again that they did not offer that drink. And then stated that I must be thinking about Sonic....i was mildly offended and said "No..I'm not thinking about Sonic , i am simply going off of what I viewed on your website this morning. " She then said wait...let me check. " " She came back and stated. Yes, Maam, you are correct. We do have that drink.all the while, there was a drink flyer on the table advertising the drink. We ordered several types of drinks, coconut limeade, coco ruuner, and the pink pearl martini. All drinks were good except for the coco runner . It tasted like coconut eggnog on ice. My cousins weren't feeling that one. The food was on point. Atmosphere very nice. The restaurant was quiet and very clean. They allowed us to sit and catch up for as long as we liked. All in all it was a very nice place.

Tim was a great server! Recommended some dishes and mostly left us to eat and enjoy our meal. Only small issue was that as the sun set the light came directly in through the glass doors and my husband had to wear his sunglasses for the last 15 minutes of our meal 😂 Best oysters (charbroiled) I’ve ever had!!!

We stopped by for some raw oysters, they were fresh opened, juicy and WARM, we couldn’t eat them, sent back and requested cold ones, gave us cold dried up ones, explained to our server “Chip” this was unacceptable. He was so rude and unapologetic that we paid for our drink and left, will not recommend and will never return. Chip was a douche, we drove to boathouse bar and grill and received excellent service and fresh opened juicy oysters! See photo

So we decided to try somewhere we haven’t been and when I say they could’ve kept the restaurant and the food, throw everything away. Felt like a restaurant off of one of the National Lapoon movies. Super outdated..food was mediocre & just “ok” absolutely nothing spectacular. Def a place to grab a bite if you need a break from gambling. We got the spinach dip, stuffed shrimp, surf n turf, red velvet cake…all was just 😑. Def needs a menu & environment upgrade!

I had previously had a good review on here for this restaurant however after my last visit I had to change that review. I was with my gf and her parents and we spent almost 200 dollars and got a bunch of royal reds and the crab/shrimp specials etc. Everything was overcooked. And I specifically requested that they make sure it wasn't. Through no fault if the server. Our server was great. But the kitchen failed to deliver good food and I wasted a ton of money on overcooked seafood. A restaurant should be reviewed on the sum of its parts.. and when you waste 200 dollars of my money that about sums it up.

Me and my wife got to the restaurant. Was seated promptly. We sat there for about 15-20 mins. No one came to our table not even to get our drink order. A few minutes later a waitress that wasn't our waitress came to our table and tried to explain that our waitress was busy. So we decided to leave. My wife went to the manager to complain about the service. He asked what could be do for us. After we told him that we were leaving he offered a free appetizer. Really? That's the best you could offer? The place wasn't even that busy. We read that it was Trip Advisor top 10. I don't see how.

Ive wanted to eat here for months. We had the special which had tons of crab legs and peel and eat shrimp. If the 2 corn on the cob I only ate part of one, had 3 potatoes I didn't even get to. Stuffed so took home key lime pie which was divine. Highly recommend.

Food was good. Bread was cold, not fresh out of the oven like it says. They brought out the wrong dish so one of us ate and the other sat for 40 minutes waiting on food without anything to drink. Asked server for water-she never offered a refill-and she never brought the one I asked for. After waitress never came back to our table for quite some time I requested for a manager from the host stand to explain we were sat 1 hour and 15 minutes ago with a reservation. We still were missing a meal and no drinks! Then when my meal arrived by a food runner still no drink. Manager came over and brought water, apologized, and offered a dessert for my husband to eat as he waited for me to eat. The bill was $100 for 2 entrees, wine, beer, and water. The dessert was complimentary. Very disappointed for our first time and our anniversary. A bunch of Im sorry with absolutely no explanation. It was truly bizarre but awful service. I believe this place has some server and management issues.

We have visited this restaurant a lot. But this weekend was the worse. Waitress was ditsy to say the least. Got our order about 20 minutes after being seated. Brought soups and salads out before appetizer. Brought charbroiled oysters out right before our meal. Cheese was hot but Oyster meat COLD. My husband got the crab special. It was less than a pound of crab on his plate. And they were rubbery with the crab meat stuck to shell. My son and wife got one of the crab bucket and it was decent. I always get the lobster and this was the first time I wanted to send it back. Over cooked and I ordered a two pound lobster and I think it was barely a pound. Our bill was over two hundred dollars and I was happy I had comps because I would be very unhappy if I had to pay for this meal. Will be a long time if I ever go back.

I love the ability of using comps from money gambled to eat meals within the Island View family of businesses. The royal red shrimps are sweet and juicy, try them! The seafood platters are perfect to share. I'm not sure what seasoning they use but they are so flavorful. I have always had great service. They have a pretty cool fountain outside where you can sit on the patio. All right across the street from the casino!

Wow! Another local restaurant that did not disappoint. The service and atmosphere that our server, John, provided was exceptional. Request John! He is in his element for sure! Two families shared the Jumbo Platter for Six. It was HUGE! The drawn butter is served over a flame to keep it warm. That was a nice touch. Several types of crab and shrimp to choose from. The Praline Cheesecake was a great finish to the meal.

Felix's Restaurant & Oyster Bar, a renowned Cajun eatery in Gulfport, MS, originated as a traditional oyster bar in 1940s New Orleans. Today, patrons can relish an array of delectable dishes such as oysters on the half shell and the appetizing oysters Rockefeller. The menu also offers tantalizing options like jambalaya, shrimp with grits, pasta, and an enticing Sunday brunch.
A wonderful Gulf breeze and spectacular view play out in the background as you enjoy some of the best food on the strip; sign me up. Felix's has it right when it comes to both food and entertainment but not to be overlooked was the service. The entire staff was as courteous as an owner would be, if they were serving customers. I felt welcome, comfortable, and appreciated for choosing them. This Felix's and also the New Orleans Felix's on the Lakefront have stepped up quality and service expectations for my family and myself. Thank you

Felix's is a wonderful spot for cocktails and fresh seafood. Just beautiful at night! The views are incredible. Had the Gulf Shrimp with Cheese Grits, both of which were fresh, well-prepared and tasty. The service was a bit slow, but overall a great experience. Huge space downstairs for events, which is nice. Parking is plentiful as well.

I appreciated that the oysters were a nice size and seasoned well. Many restaurants in the area are charging the same price for dime-sized oysters and they don't have this wonderful beach front view. I'll definitely return. Dishes ordered: Chargrilled oysters, Caesar salad with add-on oysters and Caesar salad with add-on fried shrimp. I wasn't fond of their Caesar dressing, it needs improvement. Service was excellent.

We have been to Felix's a few times now. Most of the staff is friendly. The food taste great, but the serving sizes vary depending on your wait staff/cook. The crab dip is excellent, but one time the container arrived full and another time it was half full. One visit i ordered oysters on the half shell and i got a couple extra to compensate for the smaller size, another time i ordered the same and got exactly 12. The pics show the 2 orders. Most of the wait staff will fill your drinks during dinner, one visit we had to ask for refills. Overall its s nice tourist stop. Outside and inside seating. Plus downstairs had a nice outdoor bar and live band in the evenings.

Beautiful spot to have a lunch right along the beach. Menu is pretty standard for similar restaurants along the coast. Food and beverage selections were acceptable. Our server was quite friendly, and we were never in need of anything. However, I imagine this is an older venue with lots of wear and tear, but I feel it's in need of a deep cleaning. Not uncomfortably dirty, but a little maintenance. But the view makes up for any short-comings.

Here for lunch. We had 3 different oysters and the calamari. The raw oysters were my favorite. Love the clean taste, but the other two were great as well. Our waitress, Dawn, was very helpful and sooo nice. She explained each type of oyster and made recommendations. Thank you Dawn! It was all great. We plan to be back.

Service was good but slow. I ordered a Hurricane which looked great but lacked any kind of flavor, very weak. Ordered Alligator Bites and Oysters on the half shell. We all had turtle soup. All of that was great. My son ordered a shrimp po-boy, while my wife ordered the pasta jambalaya. They both loved their food. I ordered the soft shell crab platter with two big ole crabs. I didn't even finish it. The only complaint about my meal was the fries and hush puppies were on the bland side. Wife and I finished with bread pudding and teramasus. Ended our tab with with tip $180.00. I expected a little more for that price.

I’ve had a few trips over the past few months to Felix’s Restaurant & Oyster Bar. I would have to say my trips have been great. Although it is busy, they offer ample seating and wait times go fairly quickly. You can sit at the bar - and watch the oyster shucker - get a table inside, or sit outside with a view of the ocean. Whatever you fancy, there seems to be a spot for you. The drink and food menu is diverse. Surprisingly, my favorite thing offered is the Red Beans and Rice. However, the Crab Cakes, Shrimp, and Bloody Mary were great too. Staff were helpful and shared insight into their favorite foods. Parking available and beach is in view/walking distance of restaurant. Definitely a place to visit again and again.

Being from New Orleans and being that Felix’s in the French Quarter is where o have gone for decades to eat my oysters- I had to try the one on the gulf coast. So we went for a birthday lunch this week. October is the best month to eat on the gulf coast it is fantastic weather for outdoor seating, facing the ocean. Can not get a better view. I come to eat here outside I’m inside everyday- take advantage of some of the best outdoor seating. I haves raved about and turned many people onto the Buffalo style oysters that Felix’s started. I am custom to my half dozen on the half shell, a fried oyster on the half shell with Buffalo sauce and blue cheese crumbles. The Felix’s in the Quarter serves them this way. It’s what lures me in. I was shocked when our server (who was really sweet and good) dropped our order off and there was no shell just the fried oysters and sauce and blue cheese crumbles. (Pictures below) The sauce was not up to par, it was good but not the great taste I get in New Orleans. I expect the same thing at every restaurant. It helps as a customer to get the same thing when you want that menu item and go out just for that. This is my only grudge. It’s a personal one tho. The Buffalo oysters were good but I’m going to only order that item in New Orleans where it tastes 1000% better. The seafood platter we had split was still enough to take some home after 2 people munched it- but we did have a oyster app too. I am really picky about how my shrimp are fried and these shrimp were succulent and finger licking good- I promise you that. That’s what I’ll be ordering again on our next trip over. We had sweet tea and it was good- and yea I judge a place by there sweet tea- I’m from the south

Megan is the absolute best server that we have had the whole time we have been in Mississippi. She is incredible and anticipated all our needs. We ended up going back two other times and asked for her! And of course, the food is super yummy, try the fried gator! The view of the water is breathtaking, however it does get a little chilly at night so Megan brought us one of the heaters without us even asking :) - Ashley, Crista, and Millie Pics of the breakfast, gator, & bbq shrimp pasta

I guess you're paying for the location. The fish is NOT supplied by local fishermen, it is food service. If i wanted that, I can go to a thousand chains with the same items in Nashville. Great view. Food is nothing special. Credit card charge of 3.5 % also. Look elsewhere

First time. Looking for good fried oysters. Ordered the cup of seafood gumbo and oyster platter. Gumbo was ok. Oysters? Really. Is that what you called them. They were the 'clam strip' version of oysters. You should be embarrassed to charge that much for what you served. There are seafood shacks that serve better oysters at a third the price. Shameful.

The food was ok, excelent service. I read an article about this restaurant and it said it was one of the best in the Ms coast, I was a little dissapointed because I've had better seafood at other restaurants in the coast. I forgot the name of the pasta but it was really good.

My mom and I came here and she keeps talking about how much she enjoyed the food and the scenery. The charbroiled oysters are really good and the staff is very polite and friendly.

The view and atmosphere was the highlight! Great location! The apps were good. Enjoyed the crab dip and Oyster Rockefeller. We really enjoyed our Jambalaya Pasta and the Blackened Chicken Alfredo. Prices are a little high, but fair in today's average prices. Service was on the slower side, but very friendly. But we're finding a lot of these southern restaurants are slower paced compared to what we're used to up north. We weren't in a rush, so we enjoyed ourselves.
