Italian restaurant
Il Poggio is a popular Italian eatery in Snowmass, Colorado, offering both a casual cafe and a formal dining room. With its extensive menu of pasta, pizza, and wines, it has been a beloved local dining destination for many years. Conveniently located near the Viewline Resort Snowmass hotel on the Snowmass Mall, Il Poggio specializes in authentic handmade dishes from Italy and beyond.
4.5 stars A must visit in Snowmass. Make reservations because they are busy! We were able to get a reservation on Monday at 7:30 pm and it was busy like a Sat night. They have a decent spread but not too much - a few pizza options, a few pasta options, some apps, some entrees and desserts. They also have specials. We ordered the dustino pizza with sausage, Calabrian chilli's, tomatoes, the penne pasta with cauliflower, caramelized onions, pine nuts, mint and lemon and paired those with some fantastic red and white wine choices. Both the pizza and the pasta were delicious. They give you half portions on the pasta which was a great decision because I managed to finish it for a change. The pasta's primary flavor is bland but the onions, cauliflower, lemons, mint and the butter really add a beautiful aftertaste. We also got some chilli oil which elevated the pasta, pizza and bread to another level. The breads were very good too! We ended the dinner with tiramisu which was good but not as good as my friend makes. All in all, price is on the higher end but this is worth the food experience.

Just one one the best foods that I have ever had in my life! All of the plates were simply perfect. Extra note: the cheesecake is a must try!

The food was so damn good. Seafood tasted really fresh. A must try if you are in the area. We were lucky to get a free desert that night which made the night even better. Make sure you try their desert.

Our server went above and beyond! Highly recommend this restaurant. The Funghi pizza is really good! Will recommend the duck breast as well. The ravioli and spinach came with the duck breast is amazing!!!

We had a delicious meal here after a great day skiing. The service was excellent and the pasta super tasty. Book ahead and ask for a Table in the back room, much cozier than the front bar room.
April Perman — Google review
This is our goto restaurant in Snowmass Village. Wood fired pizzas and well curated Italian dishes in a pleasant atmosphere. The front room, which we prefer, has a more bistro ambiance for bar or table seating. The back room is more subdued. Good wine list.

A wonderful spot in the snowmass mall with character and delicious food. The staff is also amazing. I love the gnocchi it NEVER disappoints.

Just do it! Spicy Shrimp, Beef tenderloin! See Katie at the bar! Excellent service, Medium Rare steak, shrimp, app. everything was amazing!

What a great restaurant! The food and drink were wonderful! We highly recommend! Will need to make a reservation weeks ahead next time rather than have to wait in line outside before they opened up. Matthew was our bartender and server. He was so personable, friendly, and top notch!
Leslie Green — Google review
Plan ahead and make a reservation here, it's very hard to get in. I ordered the Cavatappi Pomadora and it tasted PERFECT. Bright, fresh tomato sauce was everything I expected and more. Good service, great water.
Mara Leonardi — Google review
II Poggio is one of our favorite restaurants in all of the Roaring Fork Valley. The food is amazing, and the service was just as good. There was a line to get in when we visited, so we figured it would be good. We were not disappointed on either occasion! This is a special place to dine in Snowmass Village.

The food comes out quick, and delicious, the best carbonara is from here! Waiters are always nice and attentive. Nice place. I recommend to get gnocchi with carbonara, best dish!

I was for the most part satisfied with my experience at this establishment. The food came out VERY fast and the service was good. We got a few appetizers and some pizzas; the tuna tartar was quite good and I was not the biggest fan of the octopus just because it was more like a salad. I wanted to actually taste the octopus as the hero of the dish but it was not bad. The pizza I got was pretty good. One word of advice is to be careful with truffle oil because they are usually not made of truffles, more aromatic compounds but it does have the flavor. The other thing about truffle oil is that it tends to cover up the taste of what it is on. This is partially on me for taking the risk as the pizza did say it came with it on the menu. Other than that, very good pizza with good quality toppings. I did not get to try the duck breast, but one of my peers said it was very good which is worth noting. The speed of everything was very impressive and this was definitely a successful vacation meal. I was pretty full in the end which is always satisfying and I would try a different pizza next time.
Dave Rotes — Google review
The burrata, toast, and smoked cherries was just excellent. Butternut squash soup (special) was too sweet for my taste, but that's not their fault. Needed salt, but you know what? There was salt right there on the table! 1/2 portion of gnocci with veal was also top notch. Super service; very pleasant atmosphere.

One of the best restaurants in Snowmass - and they make it affordable. Let me start complimenting the service. I have been going to the restaurant for the last 10 years, and their service have only gotten better. The food is fresh and delicious. Everything is made with care and attention to detail. If you are not too hungry, they even make their pasta appetizer sizes. But if you are going to Il Poggio you should - you must - have their pizza. It’s incredible. Thank you Il Poggio for always being amazing!

Restaurant
Venga Venga is a trendy and contemporary cantina in Snowmass, Colorado, known for its Mexican cuisine and tequila offerings. Situated slopeside next to the Skittles lift, it offers a relaxed atmosphere where you can enjoy lunch or dinner with a wide selection of over 75 tequilas and mezcals. The restaurant is popular for its margaritas and is a perfect spot for après-ski or a delicious meal after hitting the slopes.
Sat on the patio and enjoyed live local music. The Margaritas were made with homemade sweet & sour giving them a very fresh flavor. The nachos and chicken burritos were favorites at our table. Smaller portions than we anticipated but thoroughly enjoyed what we ordered.
Bonnie Kelly — Google review
Very lively and definitely a place to visit if you're in Snowmass. They do Mexican food in an upscale manner. I only give them 4 stars because I thought everything was a little more salty than I like. We started with the margaritas - the house with mango and the spicy orange. I honestly did not taste the mango at all. As a regular house margarita, it was delicious! The spicy orange was too much tequila, pretty much non-existent orange flavor and the tajin rim didn't really go with it. I love my margaritas strong but that one was too strong and my friend just about managed to finish it with lots of lemon. For food, she ordered the Mexican tortilla soup with chicken and the nachos. I ordered the chicken zarape. I'd had my eye on it since I looked up their menu when we were looking at places to eat before the trip! The soup was delicious but salty for me. The nachos were delicious and heavy. My friend didn't finish much and about 1.5 days later, there's still some left. The sauce on the nachos was great but heavy. The chicken zarape was the star! The sauce was delicious, the rice and beans provided a good contrast to the sharp flavors and chicken was well cooked. I finished my whole plate which is a rarity for me! For dessert, we shared a tres leche which was really good but just a huge portion so we couldn't finish it all. But it's worth ordering! Only disappointing part of the whole dinner was watching the Bills lose to the Chiefs after leading but it was an epic game!

A good option in Snowmass for a full service meal. Reservations are recommended. Servers seem preoccupied by larger parties and tables ordering more “drinks”. Our party of four with two kids waited a bit for non-alcoholic drink refills and dessert for the kids.
Jeff Walton — Google review
Fairly busy evening when we stopped in for dinner. Asked if we had a reservation at the door and when we didn’t, we were still quickly seated with several tables open around us. Table service was lacking - one drink ordered, one water fill, and nothing was ever refilled nor additional drinks re-ordered. I had to physically flag down my server to ask for the check. Food was decently portioned for the cost (I had a steak burrito for $20), though flavors were quite bland. I used salt from my margarita to flavor my side of guacamole. Finally while food seemed well priced, a tiny marg for $13 reminded me that I was in Pitkin county.
Rylund Lewis — Google review
This was a surprisingly great experience for us. As a Texan, I don’t expect a lot from on-mountain Mexican in Colorado, but I really enjoyed our lunch here. The margaritas were excellent, burritos excellent and the carnitas was crispy and flavorful. I would definitely stop in again.
Ryan Maynard — Google review
One of the most memorable nights of our stay in Snowmass was when we dined at Venga Venga. The moment I took a bite of the Queso Fundido, my taste buds exploded with joy - it was absolutely divine. And don't even get me started on the La Pastor Tacos, they were a symphony of flavors that left me craving more. If you're considering making reservations at Venga Venga for your upcoming trip to Aspen or Snowmass, don't think twice - just do it. I wholeheartedly recommend it. The drinks were equally as fantastic, truly enhancing the overall dining experience. Trust me, you won't regret indulging in their incredible menu.

It was one of the best restaurants in Colorado. The service was tremendous. The bartender Will was so cool. I was there for dinner and the next day for lunch and dinner too. The food is awesome. The bartender's will and Nadine were so cool and friendly. They both were taking care of customers back and forth and it's not aggressive too. It's an outstanding service. It's wonderful to meet these people. I forgot his name he was also the best bartender. He took the first pic which I posted. Will’s Instagram id is wcallanan4288. Will see you guy in the winter again. Thank you so much and good luck to everyone.

Awesome location , the food is fantastic. I ordered the “machete” skirt steak ~ really great and tasty. Also the Guacamole is phenomenal. The view is great and service is outstanding.
Alejo R — Google review
Food was delicious. I have nothing bad to say about that. The service was not great. Matt was our server. We had to ask another server for drink refills because Matt disappeared for over 25 minutes. The restaurant was not that busy. We arrived right at noon when they opened. Some of the drinks we asked for never did arrive. Also no ice with water even after we asked for ice. No napkins or silverware for our appetizers. They automatically add 20% gratuity but the service doesn’t deserve 20% if Matt is your server.
Kelly Overstreet — Google review
This place used to be decent, and now it is absolutely horrendous. We ate there this evening and I would struggle to feed the steak which we were served to my dog. The one thing it used to have going for it was the cozy outdoor lounge chairs and they got rid of that. Please God someone buyout this restaurant and re-concept it. Good Mexican food just isn’t that hard to do right.
James S — Google review
When researching restaurants around Aspen and Snowmass Venga Venga kept coming up, we made a reservation. We arrived early and they were able to accommodate us a hour before our reservation, reflected in the three star score for service. Our waitress was either extremely busy or just naturally inattentive. We saw her maybe three times, we ordered the happy hour nachos, pretty good, nothing to write home about. For our entree we ordered cheese enchiladas and pork carnitas, we’re from central Texas so perhaps we have higher expectations for Mexican food. The enchiladas were extremely bland, the rice was good but tasted like standard Mexican rice, nothing special. We did enjoy the churros, they were filled with a delicious sauce. I wouldn’t recommend this restaurant due to lack of flavor and relatively poor service. The food runners and busers were excellent, I just didn’t feel the server provided top tier service. The environment was extremely loud, we sat inside and outside there was loud music and partying. It made it hard to enjoy our sit down meal.

The most amazingly marinated meat!!! We will definitely eat here more than once this vacation. We ordered the fajita platter for 5 to go and it was a ton of food with a ton of left over tortillas and salsa we will use during the rest of our vacation!! I’m super satisfied.
Jenny Prinsell — Google review
Mexican restaurant - Great place to have a couple of cocktails and snacks. They serve huge portions and high quality food! We ordered ceviche and fries with cheese sauce. Also if you order some alcohol, you will get tortilla chips without the order! It's like Japanese otooshi. - you can take gondola for free from 9am to 9pm!

A very nice place and dining experience... Great tasting food, drinks, and doesn't have oversized portions. Recommend outdoor seating for great views. Have to mention their comfy cushions...

The best spot in Snowmass for lunch or aprés! Nothing beats the Venga Venga patio with some fresh guacamole and a marg. If you are skiing Snowmass highly recommend making a stop!

I ate at Venga Venga while I was in Snowmass on December 26, 2023. The food was decent, and if I was rating them on food alone, I would give them 3 stars (maybe 4). However, if you eat at Venga Venga, make sure you keep copies of your receipts. I left a standard percentage tip when I paid, but was surprised later when the tip was larger than I had originally written on my ticket slip. This is because the server added more to my tip amount (I guess he was hoping I wouldn't notice?). In any event, I noticed this when I got back home, and so I called Venga Venga on January 2, 2024 and spoke to a "manager" who said his name was "Jake." Jake told me it must have been a mistake, and that he would reimburse the entire tip to me. I told him that I didn't want the whole tip back, but I would appreciate having the "extra" amount that was added on given back to me. Jake said he would take care of it and I should see it in the next few days. It is now February 27, 2024 and I have never received anything from Venga Venga. So, is the food decent? Sure, it's fine. But keep an eye on your receipts.
Travis Normand — Google review
The flavor of the food here was good, but our meals were brought out barely luke warm. They were literally cold within 2 minutes, like the cheese in the enchiladas was solid. If the dishes were served hot, I would have given them 5 stars.

Food was amazing! So delicious? The food service was great but I ordered a sparking water and he never gave it to me. My man left me waiting for 30 mins🤯! This is not acceptable?

Big Hoss Grill is a laid-back American eatery situated in the Snowmass Village Mall. They have a patio where you can enjoy your meal while soaking up the outdoor ambiance. This cozy restaurant specializes in serving mouthwatering BBQ dishes, as well as delectable sandwiches and breakfast options. Their menu features an array of smoked BBQ entrees like the Kansas City Pulled Pork Plate, Texas Brisket Plate, and Center Cut St.
Came here for dinner 2 nights in a row. Husband loved the clam chowder soup, said it was the best he's ever had. I had chicken wings one night and nachos w/pork the next. Both great. Desserts: key lime pie and banana cream pie are excellent. Wait staff is very friendly and fast/efficient.

Food was okay, but be aware they charged 20% gratuity mandatory for lunch, and also taxed the gratuity and 2% surcharge on the credit card fee, which is not common in other restaurants in Aspen. Wish our servers mentioned this ahead.

Sat on the back patio - beautiful views. Live music playing. Great service. Food was yummy. Pretty pricy so be prepared to drop a chunk-of-change for BBQ and burgers. Recommend the desserts!

It is a relaxing atmosphere and the food was really good. We had the ribs with curly fries they were great. My son had the hot dog and fries and he said that was the best hot dog he has ever had. The wait staff was super helpful and very polite, definitely one of our best places to eat when in Snowmass.

Very tasty beef brisket, smoked to perfection. High quality meat combined with a good BBQ sauce. Friendly and helpfull service. Perfect tender food except the slaw was for my taste not matching to the high quality dish. Please re-think about the sauce which needs more flavors such as more acidity and spices. Overall a great choice!

Had a great time at the Big Hoss Grill in Snowmass Village. They had a great live band playing inside along with excellent food and service. We will definitely be back on the next visit to Snowmass!

I had their breakfast croissant with sausage. Food was decent, neither amazing or disgusting, just average. Their service was pretty slow though, I'm not sure if they were understaffed that morning but it took awhile to put in the order for food and receive the bill at the end (one of the staff members asked me if i was ready for the bill and I said yes, then waited a long time for my waitress to come by to ask if I was ready for the bill - I dont think the first lady told her I was waiting for the bill). Receiving the food was a reasonable amount of wait time though. Overall not the worst food and service but could be improved.

Probably the best service I’ve had in Colorado. Food was very good but staff make this place. Atmosphere is great. Sat on the open patio at sunset. The staff were friendly, fast and genuinely cared about me. Several servers checked on me. Never had an empty glass. Food also came out quick. Really enjoyed this place. You won’t be disappointed.

One of the more reasonably priced places got what you get. You won't leave hungry. The burritos are massive and filled with their house smoked meat. The pork has more of a ham flavor, than carnitas, but it is very good. The trout was nicely presented and was a solid meal. Good drinks as well.

Two things make this place exceptional, one is Katie who is our server she was so helpful and so sweet. Second is the food and view. Can't beat it in Snowmass village.

My husband and I, who have lived here for 45 years, have been through all the stages of the Artisan in Snowmass. I just got two “to gos” of our favorite - the trout. Yum, this is like I cooked it at home only better! Because it has been super bowl and valentines weekend plus doctor’s visits, we have got several to go items this week from different restaurants. This was by far the best, even though other restaurants rate better. The great restaurant we chose in Basalt on Thursday night was - like the sack was empty when we picked it up. There was not much food in the sack at all - no presentation. This sack was full of good nutritious food with great presentation, and I cannot tell you how we appreciated it!

We were here with a large group for a happy hour. The staff was nice and accommodating. Food left something to be desired. One tray of chicken skewers and a tray of egg rolls doesn't feed 150 people, even for hors' douvers. Bar atmosphere was nice. The outside seating area is a great place to hang out by the fire.
cindi barr — Google review
Food good ... however: Service needs attention. Ordered wine, but had to remind server to deliver. Ordered side salad, but received full-size (they did adjust price). Entree portion was /huge/, no value if portion is too large to eat!
Trace Baker — Google review
One of the best places to eat in Snowmass. Everyone in our group enjoyed Happy hour and dinner very much. The atmosphere is great and our waitress Tina was friendly and attentive. If reservations were easier to get, we would have gone more than 1 night.
Jayaram Srivatsan — Google review
This was the restaurant for our hotel. I had breakfast here each morning. They had decent variety. It was done well with good service. However, all my coworkers went for dinner one night (six of them) and none of them enjoyed their overpriced dinners. Two in the group ended up sending back their tough steaks.
Natalie Grant — Google review
Very convenient Hotel restaurant however they are severely understaffed. I arrived at 5 p.m. and had to flag down a waiter what you doing to order before happy hour was over at 5:30 p.m. I also ordered a dinner special that was burger and fries with a glass of wine that was the Monday night special. The happy hour finishes at 5:30 and the dinner starts at 5:30. My check was time in at exactly at 5:30 but the restaurant manager said he cannot not offer both promotions because they happy hour ends at 5:29. I pointed out that I was waiting for half an hour before I could order but he says that's their policy it's not ringing the Happy Hour end at dinner promotion at the same time although that is not what the menu says. Great live entertainment tonight and again great atmosphere but extremely poor customer service. Recommended for convenience but not for customer satisfaction.

Seated by Dominique, she was delightful! And we were served by Mike, who was absolutely one of the nicest and most helpful people we've met here in Snowmass. I've read a few very disappointing reviews but I assure you the Artesian was wonderful. We had a rotisserie chicken, veggies and mashed potatoes and the burger and fries. Honestly, the burger was an easy 11 out of 10 and the portion and quality of the chicken was amazing. Maybe others' perspectives are just so much more refined than us, but in our opinion, this is one of the best in the mountain.

Four of us went to The Artisan for happy hour. For Aspen/Snowmass the prices were very reasonable and the food and drinks were great. Lovely atmosphere and the service was excellent. Highly recommend the elk sliders!

Hands down the worst food we've ever had! Food was cold, steak under cooked. Told us Grouper was on the menu. They traded it for trout and tried to tell me otherwise!! It was horrible. Bartender had a bad attitude all night and was not friendly or helpful. Magic show was a complete joke. The guy did one trick and that was it! We will never go back! $200 wasted on a bad meal and bad experience. We also didn't feel good afterwards!!
Amanda D — Google review
Genuinely the worst restaurant experience I’ve ever had. Took 20 minutes to even get water (after we asked the lady up front) an hour and a half to get our food, then the food arrived cold and the rotisserie chicken was bone dry even with the gravy. A table next to us also seemed to have a bad experience. Their food came out about five min apart. They received their prime rib about 20 minutes after the rest of the table got their food, and immediately sent it back because it was well done and the wrong sides were served. The god awful service was never even acknowledged and a 18% gratuity is automatically added to your bill. Please do yourself a favor and go to Il Poggio. Bout a five minute walk from the hotel, slightly cheaper, and a million times better in all aspects. While it’s convenient to eat in your hotel, it’s not worth the disappointment you will receive. Didn’t even get a merry Christmas from any of the staff, on Christmas night.

I was looking for a steak dinner to bring by to my condo around the corner from The Artisan. I stopped in and placed a to go order from the bar. I ordered a Bone in Ribeye grilled to perfection with the whipped purple potatoes and asparagus. For desert: crème brûlée. The steak honestly exceeded my expectations and reminded me why a coy boy charcoal grilled steak is so fantastic. A cast iron skillet just won’t get this kind of sear. It really was a surprisingly good meal. So far (day 3 of our trip) best meal I have had so far. My total for a meal that I could only eat half of $88. Not bad for resort pricing either. Check this place out! It’s good! Also.. they had a couple TVs and we’re streaming the NFL games. The lighting was nice too.
Erin Moffat — Google review
After excellent service in the bar (by Dave) the time taken to deliver our meal in the restaurant was very poor. In excess of an hour for food (with restaurant no more than half full), side orders delivered after main courses finished and drinks orders forgotten. Thoroughly disappointed. They also tried to charge us 18% service charge - which we refused to pay. Absolutely not recommended.
Will Flegg — Google review
Mediocre food l. Service was the same as the food. Had the elk bolianaise and there wasn't a ton of flavor. I will say the brownie and creme brulee were pretty good.

The Stew Pot is a charming eatery in Snowmass that serves up classic American comfort foods. Located on the Snowmass Mall, it's a popular lunch spot for both locals and visitors. This cozy restaurant offers a variety of delicious soups, stews, salads, and sandwiches that are perfect for a quick and satisfying meal. The menu features options like Veggie Chili, Corn Chowder, Chicken Noodle Soup, Irish Lamb Stew, and more.
Very friendly staff. Delicious stews, soups, sandwiches, and drinks. I tried the pastrami sandwich with a side of chips and a pickle. I also ordered a “Painkiller” frozen mixed drink with the optional floater. I believe dark rum. Both are very delicious and thoughtfully prepared. The establishment is clean, quaint, friendly, and has local artworks for sale. Highly recommend making a stop here during your time in Aspen Snowmass. Ask about the history of the building :)

They are the oldest restaurant in Snowmass, which means we had to visit! We came here for lunch and got seated immediately. The restaurant ambience isn't too fancy or quaint but the wonderful smells get your appetite going. We got the turkey cranberry sandwich with a side of the habenero pork stew and the portobello panini with a side of the old fashioned beef stew. I also ordered a peppermint patty (hot chocolate, peppermint schnapps and whipped cream) and my friend got the snicken pie slice for dessert. I loved my portobella sandwich - mushrooms, red pepper, avocado, pesto sauce and a very yummy bread bun! It was heavy though and I only had half. My friend didn't like her turkey cranberry as much. The stews on the other hand were delicious. The habenero pork is an absolute must have if you come here. The old fashioned beef stew is just like what a homemade beef stew would be like. The meat was chewy for me though. Still finished it! The peppermint patty was delicious! It combined my love for hot chocolate and excess peppermint perfectly! The snicker pie was like the Snickers chocolate in a pie. I don't like Snickers, so I didn't like it but my friend did. Good visit. Glad we came!

Good lunch spot in the Snowmass Mall, just a 3 minute walk from the slopes. It’s more affordable and tastier that the soups on the slopes. I recommend the habanero pork stew, or the veggie chili.

The Guinness lamb stew was worth every penny! There was a big hidden dollop of homemade mashed potatoes piled right in the middle, the lamb was great quality, and the BREAD was so fresh it tasted like it came out the oven about an hour ago!😋

The perfect place to stop after a day of skiing! The stew, chowder, and bread they’re served with are all delicious. There are several other homemade soup options as well. The service was fast and employees were friendly. Plenty of seating inside and outside. I’ll definitely be back!

The Stew Pot quite possibly serves the best food in Snowmass Village. The soups in particular are out of this world, and the prices overall are quite reasonable. We've definitely found a new go-to stop in the area!

The outside seating is nice but too windy and cold, so we decided to stay indoors on the second floor. There were many many big flies right next to the window, no matter which seat we pick. The old fashioned beef stew is good and tasty, but the pork stew is way too salty. Overall, it was ok.
