Crow's Nest Restaurant, Tavern & Marina is a renowned waterfront establishment in Venice, offering surf 'n' turf dining options in both an upstairs dining room and downstairs tavern. Overlooking the South Jetty and Dona Bay into the Gulf of Mexico, it has been recognized as one of the 100 Most Scenic Restaurants in America. With additional outdoor seating on both floors, it provides a picturesque setting for lunch and dinner.
I do a lot of fine dining across the states and I consider Crows Nest to be excellent. High quality ingredients and preparation. They are one of the top three restaurants of the area in my opinion. The Staff is always pleasant and the atmosphere is lovely, clean & contemporary. Parking can be a bit problematic, you may have to wait spell. But it’s typical of any waterside restaurant and worth it for such a nice view. In all, I’ve been coming for 8 years and am continually impressed. Well done guys.

Amazing! The food and service is the best I’ve experienced. I recently went for my anniversary with my boyfriend and put it in the reservation and as soon as we walked in they said “happy anniversary” they gave us a complimentary piece of cake to celebrate and our waitress was just so amazing. The best restaurant in Venice in my opinion.
Erinn Fergison — Google review
We didn't like the service of Luis the waiter. He doesn't seem to enjoy his job very much. The party next to us arrived way later, but they got their food before us. Seems like the waitresses are money hungry and care more for the tips of the retirees folks than a non yt regular family. Look for better options. We won't come back

WOW, wow, WOW!!! This place definitely is 10 star worthy! Clean, assertive, team work, the view of the marina is exceptional, and the food was dynamite!! I mean I couldn't have asked for a better night out for my mother's birthday! Thank you Crows Nest, job well done! 🤗👏

The Crows Nest is a beautiful restaurant, especially in the crows nest part of the building which is a smaller tiki-like room with abundant windows and window covers if needed. The seafood is awesome! Can’t recommend the escargot enough. The salmon is cooked perfectly in an entree and served on a salad. I ordered the Arugula Salad with salmon and it was honestly so perfect; beets were not super flavorful and the vinaigrette was super light. Nothing was too special about the Grouper - do not recommend. Complimentary bread, butter, hummus, and oil. Great for large or small parties but make reservations!

We enjoyed meeting friends here; a half-way point for us between Ft. Myers and St. Petersburg. This is a very busy eatery within a Marina and has nice water and boat views. The food is outstanding! There are two bars; one downstairs and another upstairs. Oysters are offered in different types of options. The escargot was a great decision after seeing many reviews suggesting them if you like them. I have to agree, get them here if you like escargot. Their famous fish sandwich was huge! All portions were large servings and don't miss out on their own potato chips 😋. Parking is at a minimum; you can park at the jetty and it's a short walk and they have a golf cart offering to take you to and from. We enjoyed the upstairs outside seating; weren't rushed so it was a good choice!

This place was fantastic! From the location, to the service, the food, everything was great. My husband chose it to celebrate mine and my mother-in-law’s birthday. We arrived at around 6:30 and planned to go see the sunset at the jetty right after. My mother-in-law wanted to eat the king crab and lobster and it was great!!! Also, they surprised us with dessert on the house for the two of us! Then we walked over to the jetty and it was so beautiful. Definitely recommend this place if you are in Venice.
Ana Betancourt — Google review
The hostess was attentive to me. Even though someone stepped in front of me She sent me upstairs to check with the upstairs hostess because we were a table of two and they may have a table ready now. As she could help me and stay at her post I was so grateful she asked me to Help her help me. Then I met Jesica upstairs. She took me and gave me the table. Best seat on the porch. I felt like royalty. God granted us this experience and they were both ( both hostesses ) part of it. Then our waiter Davon ( or something close to that) he was excellent. Extremely attentive and thorough and complete. I cried one mermaid tear. Tear of joy ! Keep up the amazing work. The food was epic ! From salad to main course and dessert. And the view ! Sunset epicness

Highly recommend. Great service. Perfect location with great views (while eating & outside walking around), rentals across the parking lot, nice walking area along the jetty. Drinks were beautiful & tasty. Food was on point. Reasonably priced.

Visiting Florida recently I tried to eat local as much as possible. The Crows Nest was suggested as a place to go. The food was good, I had the grouper bites with fries. The bites were lightly breaded and cooked well but did stand out. They have all sorts of meals that sounded good. The service was good. The view was great. Overall good experience and I would go back.

Matt the Manager is so accommodating and shout out to Cindy for driving the golf cart to the restaurant. Place to go for good food, drinks, pleasant and knowledgeable staff and the sunset! Great experience. Will be back.

Seated right away in the dining room as apposed to a wait time of an hour for the tavern seating. Our server was very kind and fast. The fried shrimp was the best I've ever had! The garlic mashed very tasty. The veggies of squash, zucchini and green peppers was not very good, poor texture and taste. It is an expensive place, which is the reason there should of not been lipstick on my water glass, I was not wearing lipstick. 😕
Julie Bessette — Google review
We ate the the Tavern (downstairs) of Crows Nest. Great location right on the water. The restaurant was nicely decorated and the hostess was super friendly. As for the food itself, it ranged from pretty good (mussels, clam chowder, escargot), to just ok (mushroom flatbread, Reuben). Service was not great unfortunately. Our server was inattentive throughout most of the evening, and in the end ended up applying our credit card to somebody else's bill, even though he brought out the correct paper check. The other problem was that their online menu has lower prices than their actual menu when you get there. Some items were up 25% more than their website (Yes I'm talking about the menu on their official website). Please update your site so you aren't misleading customers. I hate to leave less than a 5* review, but I feel like our experience here was just average.

What a great experience! We tried the captains fried platter. With a glass of cold draft beer. Calamari for appetizers cooked to perfection. And for dessert, the crem brule! A great atmosphere beautiful view and great service. Thank you Jamie for great attendance. This was also recommended by the locals. Also a recommendation from us. If you are in this area stop and enjoy the fine dinning, service and spectacular bay side view.

We stopped in for lunch while visiting the north jetty in Venice. Even though it was lunch hour on a Saturday, we were shown to an upstairs table next to a window overlooking the water. The atmosphere was open, bright and inviting. I ordered a plate of fried Grouper, Oysters and Shrimp with sweet potato fries and coleslaw. The fish was lightly breaded and delicious. My lady ordered Seafood Pot Pie, with a copius amount of scallops, shrimp and flounder in sauce and a sweet croissant like pastry floating on the top. Excellent food and service. I highly recommend the restaurant!

Tonight was awesome at the crows nest. I come here often for dinner when I'm in town. It's a great spot to watch the sunset then walk 2 mins to get a bite to eat for dinner. Tonight I had the Salmon Teriyaki Walnut dish, I asked about the fish and the salmon is an Atlantic farm raised fish. The waiter told us about a possible substitute, the grouper. This I took in a heartbeat! Locally sourced fish are not only better in taste and freshness, but it also supports the local economy and fishers. I had my dish with a side of rice and grits. The rice was a little dry but an extra side of aioli helps that! I often come here for the shrimp and grits that never fail to impress!! For a drink I got a bottle of white wine, if you enjoy a good white you will live in the Selbach Riesling. Sweet and light and kept at the perfect temperature! I always enjoy my time here, and will return!!

Located at 112 Circuit Road in Nokomis, Pop's Sunset Grill is a laid-back waterfront destination that attracts a diverse crowd with its extensive menu featuring burgers, sandwiches, and classic seafood dishes. The restaurant has a long-standing tradition dating back to the 1940s and has been under current ownership since 2001.
Stopped in for some drinks and appetizers. Very cool place that’s is definitely way bigger than it looks from the outside! The three different bars so anyone can find their happy place. We have margaritas with where great. I would suggest the Buffalo Shrimp for an app, they were some of the best I’ve had. Eric at at t outside bar was amazing! There was a swarm of love bugs that came through. Literally thousands of them. The staff handled it perfectly and moved people inside. Some of us didn’t care because we’re Floridians.

My family loves this place! Our food was outstanding every visit! The servers were so friendly! The view is spectacular! The food gets to your table quickly so you can go about your vacation plans, without skipping a beat! Highly recommend!! And... oh my goodness... try those cinnamon rolls!!!!

Awesome staff! Morgan S. Was so helpful and so accommodating to make our meal as plant passed and fresh as possible. Drinks were on time and strong. Kinda sucked when the rain started and we were under the mesh, but we were offered inside seating. The live band was great and not too loud. Prices reasonable and patrons were friendly. Absolutely would return. Breakfast sounds intriguing!

Food was average for seafood. Good views, live music, and prompt service. Would come back again for the price point and atmosphere.

Boisterous fun sprawling spot on the waterfront. If you love neighborhood restaurants, this is the place for you. Locals and snow birds both love to hang out here. The menu is great and extensive for both food and drinks. The courtyard had an update and looks great with sun shades, pergolas and new lighting. The place is so popular, you need to get here early to find a parking space. A few hours in Paradise with fresh seafood and fun cocktails is worth the wait!

Hands down the best restaurant we have eaten at in a long time. Even with a tree nut allergy we ate like kings without fear of a reaction. Service atmosphere food 10/10. We took the seating right on the water. We will go back again.

After our time at the beach, we headed over to Pop's on a recommendation. We were not at all disappointed. They were able to get us in and seated right away at lunch time. Our server kept our drinks filled and checked in on us frequently. The food was delicious and there were many options to choose from.

This local hangout was recommended to us. It's obvious that is a favorite place to go due to the fact that there were very busy at 1:00 in the afternoon on a Sunday. Still no wait line. We were quickly seated on the canal side where they had the isenglass down. It was a sunny day but cool. We were quickly served water by our waiter. He offered some suggestions and we had a hot toddy and a cappuccino warm us up. I ordered the grouper sandwich blackened which was a little disappointing to me as it should have had more flavor than what it did. My wife ordered the nachos and they put so much queso on them that they overwhelmed the chips, making them soggy. I would just order the queso on the side. It was a large portion of chips for sure but there's no way you can eat them all before they get soggy. It's noisy in there so if you have a hard time hearing this might not be the place to go.

After a week in Florida, this was arguably the best seafood we had. Stone Crab was as fresh as you could get, and the broccoli side was superb! Very cool environment, reminds me of the Florida Keys.

Great “little” spot on the water for dining and drinks ALL DAY!!! The new salmon bites are delish out!!! And the fried shrimp basket and burger were good too. The cocktails aren’t skimpy on the alcohol which is always a plus. And they even have a pretty extensive breakfast menu. We ate here 3x in 2 days. Did carry out twice which was pretty easy except we didn’t see any close pick-up parking available. They did have transportation running from the parking lot at night which was very nice. Great spot, definitely recommend!!!

Service was amazing. We had a large group and our server Jackson went above and beyond to take care of us. Model employee!!! Would definitely recommend this place to anyone in the area. Worth every penny, views are great and the food was awesome as well! Thank you for a great dinner and experience!!

I always believe in giving credit where it is due. I'm in the area on a business trip and last weekend my wife was visiting with our youngest daughter, she found this restaurant on Google Maps and decided to place a pickup order. The food we ordered was so good I just picked up another order a few minutes ago. I am a huge fan of bacon egg and cheese sandwiches as well as buttery grits. It takes a lot to impress me with these items and I have to say, this is probably the best bacon egg and cheese sandwich I have ever had and the grits are absolutely amazing. The person who took my order was very friendly as well as everyone who greeted me when I was picking up. Highly recommend, definitely check this place out when you are in the area. And even if you're not in the area, it would be worth the drive.

5 stars all the way around... Service and food were great. Fair price due to the on the water atmosphere. Had the Bahama Mama burger... cooked just right and was very tasty. 16 bucks for the burger with fries... again it's on the water so lots to see as you eat. Parking is not that great but you get to walk off your food. 😂

Always a fun time when we stop at Pop's! Either by boat or car, we enjoy a hearty meal with few cold ones and sometimes the kiddos able to cast and catch some fish off the docks. Great food, great service and awesome location!

We always stop by here on our way through this area . We all enjoy their breakfast but the cold smoked bacon is on point. The views are great it’s right on the water and the water is beautiful right here. You cannot go wrong with this spot it is a must if you haven’t been. For lunch we get the cauliflower crusted Pizza and it’s a must have as well.

Captain Eddie's Seafood Restaurant is a relaxed fish market and eatery with a tiki bar, offering an array of fresh local catch. Located in town, it was highly recommended by a friend for its laid-back atmosphere. The menu boasts delectable options such as beer-battered fries, clam chowder, key lime pie, and mojitos that are simply irresistible. What truly sets this place apart is its exceptional customer service.
Delicious experience 🙂 I ordered the rocks shrimps, so tasty ! Their blue crab cake (you can order just 1 side of it) it’s delicious! The lobster roll was FULL of lobster, their cocktail shrimp also delicious! The side of cucumber salad also refreshing and healthier option 🙂 the combo platter is a great open to to have a taste of a variety of seafood! For drinks, delicious Bloody Mary and for dessert they their key like martini ! ! Our bartender and waiter / waitress Rachel & Nick were phenomenal and gaved fantastic recommendation 🙂 over all everything was delicious and great service 🙂 we were greeted and we were well taken cared off. The restaurant overall needs just a little touch of love & deep clean. Also, I believe it would be even tastier if the pickled beets would be from a locally made person ! 😉 just giving higher expectation and ideas! We will definitely be back 🙂 and we highly suggest this place 🙂👨🏻‍🍳 Also, fantastic concept that there’s the fish market where you can buy fresh local fish! They all looked SO fresh & very clean area! Very nice also that they sell all their homemade dipping sauce ! Come & try this place, you won’t be disappointed ! 🙂

Stopped in had 30 minute wait that turned into 5 minutes. Super fast seating. All the service staff are amazing, very friendly. Our server was very informative helping us to make our food choice. Had grouper cheeks, alligator bites, snapper, zucchini, hush puppies. The fish was cooked to perfection with great flavor. I highly recommend and will definitely be returning.

Stopped here for lunch before going to Nokomis beach , looking pretty beat from the road. I figured what the hey I’ll stop on and give it a try. The service was awesome friendly and fast. Wow! First time here- wasn't too busy, so I honestly worried it wouldn't be that good--- dang! I was WRONG! We started with the smoked fish dip. Fresh and good! We had the 1 lb. King crab claw dinners. Yum. YUM!!! Our sides were pickled beets, fried zucchini, cucumber onion and tomato salad. Had enough room to split a piece of " award winning" key lime pie. Scrumptious!

I was in town on vacay and a friend of mine recommended this place! The beer battered fries, clam chowder, key lime pie and mojitos were to die for, I will never stop craving them. What really stood out was the customer service, there was a slight mix up with my parties order but Cody, the manager came to our aid. He was very helpful and solved our problem quickly and efficiently. He also made it a point to continuously check in with us! I would highly recommend this restaurant!

We expected so much more based on the reviews. The food was boring, and the restaurant was stifling hot! The drinks were strong, which is good. It appeared to only have one waitress working the inside area. We waited long, but she was great considering all of the tables she had. I expected more seafood items on the menu for a restaurant by the beach.

Pelican Alley Restaurant is a bright and airy eatery situated by the water, serving a variety of popular seafood dishes in a relaxed atmosphere. Located near the drawbridge leading to Casey Key, this charming establishment attracts eager customers who often queue up even before opening time. The cuisine is commendable, with standout options like delectable seafood chowder and a delightful fried seafood lunch platter featuring an appealingly light batter.
Comfortable settings with a great view of the inland waterway. Live Music in the evening. The food was great and the service was fast and pleasant. 1st was a Avocado Bacon Chicken wrap with fries and their special fish taco trio. Grouper, Snapper, and Mahi along with rice beans on the side.

First time here with my girlfriend and her husband. Calamari appetizer would have been amazing if it had been warm! Our steaks were overcooked and had to send back! Management came over and had our steaks re-cooked! Second time around they were perfect temp and sides were hot (which were not 1st time) Ive been a server and it's obvious both appetizer and on-tray were sitting in the window too long! Manager did a fantastic job correcting the situation! Thank you Collin

This is a almost hidden gem, this amazing restaurant is incredible restaurant. We were told this place has the best chowder, I was skeptical then I tasted this robust flavored delectable creamy chowder, the best I've ever had ! My wife had the lobster ravioli that melted in your mouth. I had "THE BEST" grouper and crab ever. The key lim e pie is sensational! We now have a favorite seafood restaurant in the world ! We have traveled far and wide and never had better. The atmosphere is great as well. The owners were the cherry 🍒 on this floor utopia , such nice people and ver engaging! And the building history is fascinating!!!

Cute little spot right next to the drawbridge leading to Casey Key. People were lining up to enter before the place even opened. Definitely surprising to see, even on a weekday. The food was good. Seafood chowder, fantastic. Fried seafood lunch platter, great taste and light batter, portion a bit small. Crab cakes, tasty and dense, fried which was interesting. The french fries were way too salty and a bit cold. Coleslaw was good and not too much mayo. Service was friendly and attentive. Ambience is a bit loud inside. Tons of pelicans and fish hanging around the area which is cool. You can pull right up on your boat. Neat spot to check out.

Great little restaurant in Nokomis in the intercoastal waterway at the south Casey Key bridge. Fresh fish, great luncheon specials, reasonable pricing, great service. It sort of reminded me of the old Dockside Dave's in Madera Beach when they were on the grouper docks. Pelican Alley will be a go to for me when I'm in the Nokomis/Venice area.

Very nice restaurant and location. Ordered the Seafood Casserole for $18 and would NOT recommend it. No flavor, tiny scallops, shrimp pieces, liquid on bottom of dish. Casserole was not served hot. The rice was cold and coleslaw serving tiny. My wife got the broiled Grouper which was very good… We were the second table seated for lunch and It took 55 minutes to get our order.

This was our 2nd time eating here with both the food & service being good...We split a bowl of seafood chowder, my wife had flank steak tacos & I had Ahi Tuna... Update: This is our 3rd time eating & probably the last time...My wife's open faced fish sandwich absolutely had no seasoning & was tasteless...And my blackened mahi-mahi tacos had zero flavor as well...And the portion fish on each taco was disappointing; especially priced at $26...

Easy to miss. We did. *Be sure to follow Albee Rd. to just before the bridge. Parking to the left roadside of the Marina. Five of us dined at this wonderful waterfront restaurant. We’d actually taken our boat and dined here years earlier, but I didn’t recognize the place from our land-bound drive. So, it was an awesome first-time-sort-of experience. We are always looking for well-cooked seafood. You'd think it would be easy given our coastal location, but it's not. Our group of five's ages spans from the teens through the eighties. And everyone was delighted with their meal. The food was fresh and freshly prepared. And the staff - front and back of the house - is wonderful! It cost us about $30 per person, which included two bar drinks at about $8 each, three beverages, and three bowls of chowder to share, along with five meals.

The seafood is excellent and the view is unique. Staff is friendly and attentive. However, drinks are way overpriced and scream of tourist trap. $6 for a domestic beer from a plastic cup and $12-$19 for a mixed drink. Come on, this ain’t Vegas. The great food still makes it worth the expense. If it wasn’t for the red-light district drink prices, I’d give 5 stars.

Great experience- great food and an even better atmosphere. We ate lobster tacos as the sun set over the water- gorgeous. They had a guy sing and play harmonica and guitar with great vibes. Similar prices to the other restaurants in the area and extremely lively and sweet staff. One of the most wonderful restaurant experiences I've had- great way to end our vacation.

Beautiful views! Docks available to dock and dine. Never had crawfish before but waitress taught us the ropes. The nachos and tacos are also amazing! Be adventurous and try the crawfish if you’ve never been brave enough to try it before (like me). The Showboat Seafood Combo, while a little pricey is so good and sure to fill you up! The drinks are also spot on! Pretty busy place and live music sometimes.

Fun atmosphere and live music. We had a large party so the wait was too long for us. Cool place if you plan it right. We didn't have food so I can't rate that. Staff were friendly and welcoming. Bathroom is upstairs so if you can't do stairs may be an issue. Dock out the back and right on the water. No walls toward the water so dress in layers if it is evening and cooling off.

My husband and I came here for brunch on our anniversary trip weekend. Open air dining on the back side, both upper and lower level . The atmosphere is wonderful, looking at the sand and water from your table. The food is excellent, I had the seared Ahi Tuna with mango salsa and an amazing slaw and a beautiful flower you can eat. Wait staff were great, prices good, a wonderful experience, I recommend it highly.

Our favorite place in this area is to relax and enjoy some music and light dinner. Great drinks and clams here. The atmosphere is perfect. They have a bar upstairs and downstairs as well as some tables upstairs and downstairs. After enjoying a drink and some food its always nice to lounge in their little beach area and listen to some music. Definitely recommend this restaurant and bar.

Nokomos is the place to go for that Florida vibe. Beautiful views and good music as you dine on some delicious offerings. Go early to get a good seat, otherwise you will be waiting in line! I highly recommend the Lobster Rolls-yum!

Terrific from start to finish. We were actually heading to a different restaurant to eat and watch the sunset, but passed this one and thought we’d give it a try. Definitely no regrets and it will be on our list of great places in the area. HUGE delicious oysters, decent craft IPA’s on tap, fresh lobster rolls, delightful martinis, and AMAZING views. Service was great too, all the way around.

The food is just great. The drinks are great this is very high on my list first time going there and anyone traveling the area should stop in and try them out. The drinks are top notch the prices seems to be fair and the portions of food you get for the cost. Service is very good and gets anything you need. And the location is also great a spot to park your boat at the restaurant dock and walk up and get a seat right on the bay with a good view of the water. This is a must go to.

Great atmosphere! Food took a long time to get to us but the meals were just awesome so it was well worth the wait. Alcoholic drinks were a bit pricey.

Went there for lunch today, arrived by kayak and parked at the dock. This place has a nice atmosphere and a good location. I sat upstairs near the stair and ate lunch. I got the 3 starters: Ahi tuna, Mahi mahi & the clam chowder. They were all exquisite and very flavorful. The clam chowder most of all I thought. I enjoyed a tasty on tap beer and a Pina Colada, but I was disappointed in the service because I take my time enjoying the scenery, food and company I was with. Our server was extremely impatient after 1hr because I am assuming she wanted to flip our table. We continued drinking and ordered the bbq chicken flatbread which was a welcome change to the appetizers we started with. Overall the food and atmosphere was awesome! The host was nice, but most of the service (waitress & downstairs bartender) were quite rude and impatient - 5 stars if the staff were friendlier.

We stopped in for a sunset dinner and couldn't be more pleased. We had the seared ahi, lobster roll, and ahimsa tuna wrap. Everything was delicious, and the edible flowers were such a nice touch. The sunset was absolutey epic! One of the best we've ever seen.
