Frasers Gourmet Hideaway in Oak Harbor offers a high-end dining experience with a focus on seafood and American cuisine. The restaurant's upscale and airy ambiance, complete with leather chairs and an open kitchen, provides the perfect setting for a memorable meal. Owner/Chef Scott Fraser is highly regarded in the community and is known for mentoring local youth in the culinary arts. Guests can enjoy watching Chef Scott at work by securing a seat at the illuminated onyx chefs counter.
Honestly one of the hidden gems of Washington State. This place has an amazing atmosphere, amazing food, amazing staff, and amazing owner. Definitely if you are in Oak Harbor temporarily you should really try this place. Make a reservation, dress nice, and enjoy the atmosphere. They are lax so you don’t need to go nice dress but it just feels like you’re a millionaire fine dining! Will be coming back for special events!

This place is amazing! My husband took me here for my birthday dinner; we just moved to the island 6 months ago, so we are still finding all the hidden gems - this is definitely one of them! Every dish was delicious and perfectly portioned. The garlic and brie fondue was so so so good, we would go back just for that! Reservations are recommended, but it was pretty quiet earlier in the evening on a Wednesday (before summer season - not sure how busy it gets with tourists). We had a 5pm reservation and it was starting to get a bit busier by the time we left. We had: Garlic and Brie Fondue Dry Garlic Baby Back Ribs (the blackberry mustard sauce was something else!) Homemade Sourdough with House-made Red Pepper Hummus (my husband doesn’t usually like hummus, but he liked this) Rack of Lamb (cooked perfectly medium rare) Duck Breast (homemade pasta and the Marsala sauce were amazing) Flourless Chocolate Cake (airy and fudgey at the same time - I had to get a tiny to go box for half of the cake because we were stuffed!)

Everything was excellent! Everyone was friendly and the chef made sure to greet everyone when we were there. Defintely one of the spots to go to when you're on Whidbey Island.
Kathleen Libnao — Google review
Exceptional dining experience. Everything about this meal at Fraser's was too notch. Service, food, atmosphere were all comparable to any fine dining anywhere. Duck breast was prepared perfectly, and was swimming in a delectable sauce with large egg noodles. Shrimp and Crab lasagna was "off-the-chain" good. Not even a hint of "fishiness". Scallops were cooked perfectly with a beautiful risotto. Don't forget dessert! Delectable - the pastry chef should get a Michelin star alone! Can't wait to go back!
Bradley Mayes — Google review
I mean it's hard to start because everything is top notch. I have been going to Fraisers since 2009, left whidbey for a while and now I'm back. The taste, atmosphere, and amazingness of this place has only improved. I'm convinced I'll never dine at a place like this anywhere else. Food is incredibly delicious, have not had 1 bad meal ever. So relaxing and romantic. Perfect portions, but yes you are always going to want more. Steak meals are absolutely amazing, look out for the pork loin special and seafood payeya! I had the chicken and waffle and rib meal and they were also really good. They have these meatballs appetizer right now that are amazing, but nothing beats the fondue to start. For desert definitely indulge in the cheese cake or the passion fruit cream. They do give you bread with a different humus spread every time which is really good. They also have a good selection on wines and whiskey/bourbon to pair with your meals. They make a mean cape cod. Honestly if you have not gone here and you are in Whidbey, you are not doing it right. Yes it is pricy, but I DO NOT CARE and neither will you.
Lazy Landi — Google review
Perhaps the finest dining in Oak Harbor, but make sure you have a reservation; or get there early to grab a seat at the bar. The staff was very kind & the cooks were a hoot. All the entrees looked amazing & I can vouch for how good the lamb is, however the star dish was definitely the creme brulee. Without a doubt, we will be back!

Bought here as a treat by my friends as it’s there favourite! I was not disappointed. Everything is beautiful, the service, food decor. This kiwi tourist loved it

I have traveled all over the world, so how lucky am I that my absolute favorite restaurant is on the island I live on?! Every dish is both beautiful and delicious! I love the open kitchen concept so you can actually see the chefs preparing your meal! My favorite is the rack of lamb, but I have had almost everything on the menu and it is ALL amazing! Treat yourself to the fondue as a starter and most definitely save room for dessert! I also highly recommend ordering whatever they have as a "special". It's definitely the nicest restaurant on the island and surrounding areas!

It’s been a few years since our last visit, but SUPER glad that this place is still as great as ever!
Graham Parker — Google review
I rarely review place on the first visit. But this was fantastic and I'm not sure when I'll be back. The garlic crusted short ribs were amazing, I might get two orders of those for an entree my next visit. I would absolutely get the rack of lamb again. My friend got the special that had lobster tail and scallops I would probably get that if they had it again next time.

Chef Jackie is AMAZING! She is talented, kind and humble. She is the reason we continue to come back to Frasers. No disrespect to Chef Scott Fraser but this young lady is ready NOW to lead a restaurant of her own!
Kregg Griffiths — Google review
One of my favorite restaurants, hands down! Everything is AMAZING. I'll think a dish sounds rather plain but once it makes it to the table (and my mouth) I am constantly blown away. The service is phenomenal and you can tell how much everyone cares. I can't say enough good about it!
Ky Ninja — Google review
Food was 5 star all the way. Taste delicious and beautifully presented. The seafood chowder was full of seafood and probably one of the best I've ever had. Service was acceptable however our server could have used some training on her wines. At this level a server should be able to suggest a wine pairing when customers are unfamiliar with the list. Especially when many of the wines are sold by the bottle. As it was the wine we chose was delicious.
Kim Sharline — Google review
My wife and I had our anniversary/Valentine's Day dinner at Frasers last night and we thoroughly enjoyed the experience. The food was excellent, the service was superb, and the environment was upscale but comfortable. Every member of the staff was exceptionally personable and accommodating. If you want a fine dining experience on Whidbey Island, whether you're visiting or a resident, I highly recommend Frasers. Not only is it the best dining experience we've had on the Island but it rivals upscale restaurants I've been to in Seattle, San Francisco, Los Angeles, etc. Outstanding experience - Thank you!

Restaurant
The BBQ Joint, run by Tim and Sonna Ryan since 2006, is a renowned spot on Whidbey Island for authentic Texas BBQ. They meticulously prepare their own rubs, sauces, side dishes, cornbread, and desserts. The meats are carefully selected and smoked for up to 15 hours over Hickory in their Southern Pride Smokers. The menu features a variety of BBQ styles including Texas, Carolina, and Pulled Pork.
Loved my lunch stop today. Very good pulled pork excellent brisket cooked just to the point to be able to pull apart with your hands. The barbeque sauce was balanced very well not too sweet not too vingerie. The sides were just as good. Mac and cheese cheesey runny gewyness. The beans cooked they way they should be there are some bits of meat on there too. Overall very good barbeque. It was empty when I pulled in but it got busy while I was eating. Good place good people stop by give it a try.
Dave Miller — Google review
Let me star off by saying the service was outstanding. We were greeted the moment we walked in, and the young man behind the counter was courteous as well as patient. The food was okay. We had ordered the pulled pork sandwich with Mac and Cheese and the brisket coleslaw. The pulled pork was decent. The brisket was just okay. I thought it would have a heavier smoke to it and juicier. All in all, it was not a bad dining experience. I think my expectations were too high.
Wes Feighner — Google review
The stars are for their excellent customer service but the food was just ok. The meat wasn’t tender or flavourful. I had high hopes from the high reviews but I left disappointed by the food.
Judy L — Google review
As a born and raised Texan, chef , and traveled experienced trucker , I can say whole heartedly this transplant bbq is the real deal!!!! Full flavor and wow oh wow did it just give me the feels of home. I will admit the brisket didn't taste as fresh as your expect but still very well done and full of flavor. I got the spicy sausage and ribs with brisket beans and Mac. All of which including these sauces impressed me!!!! Just to show you I know good que I am posting in the pics of an avocado lime injected and marinade brisket never done before anyone and to show you these guys are hanging with the best of us bbq'ers!!! Y'all rock , keep up the great work we appreciate you and your passion shows through 🙏🙏🙏🙏❤️❤️❤️❤️.

Amazing BBQ Brisket and all the fixing, not to mention the Banana pudding will max out your sugar levels. Tremendous service...So stop by and get your Grub On!!!
I AM JJ Walker — Google review
Overall the food was really good with one exception. The Brisket was truly terrible. It must be a low grade Brisket flat because it was dry and not cooked properly. It had very little smoke flavor and wasn't even close to tender. If I made a brisket that bad I would turn it into chilli or throw it away. The rest of my meal was perfect and the Banana pudding was fantastic.
KP HVAC — Google review
This is hands down the best BBQ place in town (yes I know about the “other one” but that’s a whole other review) these people blow them out of the water. The service is always top notch, they’ll answer any questions you have (but what is there to ask about BBQ…) they have actual sweet tea available so watch out if you’re Wilford Brimley… The food is amazing and it’s done right. I especially love their two types of sausage and their chicken is fall off the bone perfect. Family owned straight from Texas.
WolfeBane — Google review
BBQ was tasty. By dumb luck they didn't have brisket when I went. Beautiful smoke rings on the ribs and juicy pulled pork. Sauce on the side is the right way. Baked beans were slightly sweet, good. Potato salad was the right amount of flavor with a skin on pieces adding a nice texture. Pickle and white bread the right complement.
Ruben Soto — Google review
My wife and I went for lunch. It was a typical american BBQ joint. Kind of bare bones decor and a walk-up order station. We shared the 4 meat large plate. Beans were good, mac and cheese was so so. Neither of us were fans of the pulled pork. The brisket and ribs were good. I wasn't excited about any of the sauces. The spicy sausage was the only real standout. All in all, it wasn't a memorable meal.
Wynn Kenny — Google review
Had the beef brisket sandwich it was excellent. It was good . I will return. 😊

We absolutely love BBQ and were looking to grab a quick bite. Setup is a bit like a high school lunch line, but they'll get your plate loaded and you happily munching fast! Every bite was excellent!
Anna Johansen — Google review
Grabbed food to go and it was AMAZING! The special was pulled rib sandwiches so we got one of those, a pecan praline poundcake, and a three meat plate with brisket, pulled pork, and kielbasa. It was all delicious! We had both the bbq sauce and the mustard sauce, so yummy. I took a little of the rib meat from the sandwich and mixed it in with the side of macaroni and cheese. The mac and cheese was already tasty and clearly not from a box, and adding the rib meat made it level 10 incredible! Highly recommend. Very family friendly, afordable, filling, and delicious!!!!
Ky Ninja — Google review
Very welcoming customer service, ladies were super nice. Pulled Pork sandwiches hit the spot with a side of coleslaw and loved how each sandwich included it’s own little container of bbq sauce which was great. Would have taken a picture but I ate it so fast, I forgot. The brisket wasn’t very tender and a little on the dry side, not my favorite to be honest but still enjoyed it. The banana pudding was great! 4 pulled pork sandwiches with sides, 1 brisket with sides, 2 banana puddings. I paid about 80$ before tip. Will return!

The airy and warm atmosphere makes it the perfect place for casual dining with family. Whether you're looking for weekend breakfast, lunch, or dinner, this spot provides a comfortable setting to enjoy delicious food while taking in the cove and mountain views.
We waited an hour, but it was worth the wait! Wonderful service and we had a lovely view next to the window. Started with the Artichoke Dip and we devoured it. I had the Pesto Shrimp Pasta, which I would absolutely order again. My husband had the bourbon mussels, niece had the Mediterranean gnocchi and brother had the signature burger, everyone was super pleased with their entrees! Would highly recommend Front Street Grill.

UNBELIEVABLE. I loved this grill and there food. The amazing choices that you have are great. The food is so amazing I can’t explain it. The clams were like dessert and the Ruben is so rich and delicious. I highly recommend the Ruben, muscles and chowder. The view of the local harbor is also amazing, I saw a seal and many types of birds around the water and docks.

I’m so glad I found this place on a day of wandering. I am fortunate enough to have travelled all around and been able to try seafood all across the country. I only say that to emphasize the sincerity when I say they have one of the best seafood dishes I’ve ever tasted in my life. GREEN CURRY MUSSELS. I can’t stress enough how amazing that dish is. The perfect amount of spice, the coconut, the quality and freshness of the mussels themselves. Just perfect. Don’t get me wrong… The oysters were phenomenal. Crab cakes were everything you would want from a crab cake. The staff was ultra friendly. Cocktails were perfectly balanced. But those mussels… I dream of them. Literally have had dreams of having that dish again. Get the side of bread to dip with it, enjoy it, I look forward to ever finding myself in the area ever again and would recommend this to anyone and everyone. Top tier culinary experience.

Great, local seafood in a small town. This is another great restaurant option in the town of Coupeville. This place gets busy so you may want to make reservations. Most of the good options are seafood but they do have burgers and steaks too. I went with family and order a bunch if items thst were all very good.
Les L — Google review
we went to this restaurant for dinner. if you are a seafood lover you will definitely like the menu. we waited about 30 min on a busy Wednesday night. the staff were welcoming and happy to be there. they didn't bat an eye when we came in with two babies and a 4 year old. they were great with kids. The food itself was out of this world. I had a waffle chicken sandwich with candied bacon and fried egg. my husband had a bbq bacon jalapeno raspberry Burger. the meals were filling and mouth watering delicious. it was kinda spendy for a family but definitely worth it for a date night. we Also had deep fried Mac and cheese and calamari strips for an appetizer

So worth the drive out! Gorgeous restaurant on the water, with an amazing view. The food is out of this world amazing! And the drinks absolutely blew me away. I'm not a big drinker either. However, the mixed drinks all sounded amazing and I couldn't pass up trying a few. Would absolutely come back.
Drita D'Alessandro — Google review
This was so good! I had the Classic Italian fish stew in a tomato based sauce, brimming with fish, mussels, clams, and shrimp. Option to have it served with pasta or garlic bread. My sister had the mussels in a cream, herbs, and white wine sauce. There are about 5 window tables overlooking the bay and local art hanging on the walls for sale. Service was friendly and efficient. Was quite busy for week day lunch which says a lot. We parked at the town parking about a street above the town, a less than 5min walk.
Ray Hillman — Google review
We waited a LONG time for a table during their busy time, even after calling and being told we'd get in by 6pm; it was more like 7. Glad to get a table by the window and the Crab-Artichoke Dip with Garlic Bread (no pic) was savory and warmly comforting while waiting for our meals (4 of us). We ordered five things, and three had issues: our friend found a large piece of gnarly root, like 2" long x an inch wide, in her salad with side of crab cakes, and they did not comp the meal because it was 'only a piece of [inedible] plant root and we did remake the meal' - I asked for mgr and he comped the meal but spoke so fast and scurried away that I'm not sure overall what happened (an extra 20% off?) But she waited so long for the remake she got a to-go box and didn't even get to eat with us, aka NOT COOL. My daughter's Chicken and Waffles tasted great but was COLD. Her fiancee loved his salmon chowder and burger. My Flank Steak Salad was a huge pile of greens with five slices of tender steak buried in feta cheese for a huge price, so not impressed. Overall, the meal was very over-priced for what we got, and the quality of service friendly but sparse.
Barb Dyess — Google review
Had a great time at Front Street Grill over the weekend! Seriously, the views are just as good as the food, which is saying a lot because the seafood here is top-notch. Sat outside, overlooking Penn Cove, and it was stunning – made the food taste even better, if that's possible. We tried a few seafood dishes and each was better than the last; fresh, flavorful, and just perfectly cooked. Prices were reasonable for the quality and the setting. It's a chill spot, especially if you can catch a sunset. Definitely going back the next time I'm in Coupeville!
ROBIN LEE — Google review
We came here to try Penn Cove mussels for the first time…and it was delicious. I’ve been missing out my whole life! I highly suggest adding the garlic bread and linguine to your mussels so you can savour all the mussel flavour! We had to wait for our table but it was well worth the wait!

We recently stopped for lunch. The food and service were both fantastic! We had the caprese salad, the coconut green curry mussels, and the fired zucchini. Everything tasted great! I definitely recommend a visit.

Small seafood restaurant with a great feel. Wonderful selection of wines and seafood. I highly recommend the Mussels Rockefeller with extra garlic bread. Add linguini and it's enough to feed two people. I can't wait to go back.

Terrific restaurant with an amazing menu and a wonderful waitstaff. Get them mussels! I’d never had before but the menu has an extensive list of choices. This is what they are known for is their mussel entrees. You won’t be disappointed! Nice atmosphere in a neat little town!
Michelle Kruse — Google review
Front Street Grill was a great place to grab mussels the other night! My biggest issue was choosing which ones to order. I ended up choosing the white wine mussels with the add-on linguini. I had a Sober Carpenter (N/A beer) to drink and the mixed berry cobbler (might not be the correct name) with ice cream for dessert. Everything was so delicious! I wanted to go back tonight to have dinner again, but decided to try a new place instead. The staff were friendly and the view out the window was beautiful. I will definitely come back and would recommend to family and friends.

This place was fantastic. In town on vacation, and my cousin only had one MUST try place on his list. Cozy atmosphere, incredibly attentive staff, and a wonderfully simple menu. Our server was an absolute delight. The food was delicious and was served quickly. The area surrounding the restaurant is quaint and adds to the overall experience. Toss in a superb drink menu, and you have a place I'm excited to recommend.

Great food and even better service. The restaurant is cozy so it can get a little loud. We had the Ruben and their signature green curry mussels and both were incredible. If you like a little pucker (like I do) try their lavender lemonade martini, it was perfect!

Coupeville historic waterfont never disappoints, I love the colorful preserved pioneer homes. The wharf has a good variety of restaurants, my favorite is Front Street Grill. It offers good options plus a deck for sunny views of the Cascades and waterfront. The Chefs Seafood Soup & delicious local Oysters were delicious.

Good food, but when we showed up on a Sunday, they were out of pretty much all seafood. It was disappointing not to eat seafood at a seafood restaurant as it was the only reason drove up from Seattle. The food we did eat was good.

TDLR; Really good food in a really beautiful setting. I will come back even just for the views on a cold rainy gloomy day! The food here has also been exceptional. We ordered an Arnold Palmer, a cup of chowder and the front street grill burger with the black bean patty. The house sauce that comes with the burger is so good, and the fries are very crispy! My partner loved his chowder too!

Rustica - Italian Restaurant and Bar offers a warm and inviting atmosphere with rustic decor, featuring reclaimed woods and artful touches. The restaurant is known for its seasonal American bistro-style fare, farm-to-fork Italian cuisine, and delicious cocktails. Guests can enjoy an intimate dining experience with locally sourced beers, ciders, wines, spirits, hand-made pastas, and a menu highlighting Whidbey Island's farms and fisheries.
We went to rustica to celebrate a friend’s birthday and had an excellent experience. The food was fantastic from appetizers through dessert and the cocktails were top notch. The poor server was a bit overwhelmed with every table full but he was kind and got everything right. There are very few quality farm to table restaurants on island and we are already planning another trip north to Oak Harbor to dine at rustica again!

Lovely patio overlooking Puget Sound. The staff and owner were amazing, very friendly and welcoming. The penne with filet mignon was very flavorful and the steak was cooked to perfection. The lemon tiramisu was also fantastic.

Overall the food & drinks were great. The carbonara was swimming in too much butter, but everything else was delicious and they have a great selection of wine and cocktails. The setting is very casual and staff is friendly.
Alyssa Jarman — Google review
Service was great but food not so much. Food is too expensive for the quality it is. Steak is not worth $48, their med rare came out med well. Their Pappardelle pasta and calamari were too bland. Their tiramisu is more of a lemon cake with chocolate savings on top than a tiramisu. Their drinks were good though.

My husband and I haven’t been on a fancy date night in a while and I chose this place for us to go to. Was not disappointed at all. We got the family style dinner which was a four course meal. Definitely worth the $60 per person. We saw photos online saying $50 per person but the price going up didn’t bother us as we wanted to try something new anyways since the four course meal is entirely up to the chef. The Chef delivered each and every course and explained what was in it. Each course that came out was timed so well. We did not feel rushed to eat. We were able to take home what we wouldn’t eat which was huge for us. Most places that have meals like this, don’t allow you to take home what you couldn’t eat before getting the next course and they take back what you didn’t eat. But here at Rustica, they boxed our food for us after asking if we could take it home to save room for the next courses coming out. The atmosphere was romantic and cozy. Everything about this was great! This was an exceptionally wonderful date night and experience. We will be coming back!

Oh my gosh it hurts me to say this because our server was lovely, but God was the food bad. It was so bad I had to leave a review. And very expensive. We paid over $100 and the lasagna was really really bad. Lasagna with pork…. And the shrimp scampi spaghetti was ABSOLUTELY unseasoned and over cooked. I liked the waitress she was lovely but the food quality was absolutely atrocious. Worst I’ve had in years. I actually don’t think I’ve ever left a negative review but this restaurant was such a bummer.
Irina Negrean — Google review
The first time we came to Rustica, roughly a year and a half ago, it was a fantastic experience. The next time we went, last night, was awful. Arrived and had to wait a few minutes to be seated, which is absolutely fine; however, I noticed that there were 3 “servers” for ~15 tables. I say, “servers” because they were also the people acting as hosts, bussers, and bartenders. Once we were sat it took nearly 10 minutes for our server to acknowledge us, he came to get our drink order, but we called him back to order food as well since we were ready. We ordered a Pepsi, water, cheese bread and 2 chicken alfredo’s. The server then went to put in the order, and bus a table before disappearing. About 10 minutes later we got our cheese bread at the same time as our drinks. The cheese bread, admittedly, was pretty good, had a hint of smokiness which was interesting - definitely the highlight of the night. 15 minutes later we got our chicken Alfredo’s, they were incredibly bland, I’m 90% sure the chef forgot to put Parmesan in the dish at all. The chicken was cooked well but had no flavor and there wasn’t that much of it. We asked for our check when we received our food and our server was quick to bring a check but not refill the Pepsi that had been empty since before our entrees arrived. $70 for some cheese bread, bland pasta, and what would amount to be roughly a can of Pepsi. I didn’t immediately sign because we were still eating, but a few minutes later he tried to come back to take the check book before I had signed. The only thing this server was concerned about was getting a tip, not actually making customers happy to get that tip. Super disappointing evening here.

Galentines dinner was a smash hit with the crew at Rustica. Our bartender was on point with her drinks, and a warm welcoming smile. Our waiter and buser were classy, fun and very attentive. Mercedes made the night feel like we were just guests in her home. Oh and the food!? My steak was wonderfully seasoned and cooked to perfection.

Went there for dinner on a Saturday evening recently. Some of the best Italian food we've ever eaten. Owner and her husband are wonderful hosts. The cioppino was terrific, as was the lasagna and scampi. Leave room for their cannoli - big enough to split. And the decor/atmosphere is really something. Check out the custom wood art scattered throughout. Definitely will go back. (Be warned tho - in this part of Oak Harbor parking is hard to find; be prepared to walk.)
Katie Schweiss — Google review
Service started out good and by the end our server stopped coming to our table. The food was alright although my husband found a long hair in his food… the drinks were too spicy and not very enjoyable (we had bloody Mary’s/Caesars). Too expensive after all things considered
Karelly Arroyo — Google review
Food is of good quality but the cooking, flavoring/spicing is so so. My wife's chicken alfredo had pieces of chicken with gristle and the alfredo sauce did not smell or taste like any we have had before. My panini had chicken breast meat of good quality but the sandwich was excessively dry and hard to break apart/chew. It's cheese needed to be less cooked with some sauce added. lasagna variable from poor to just ok. Service was good but the price was out of line for the food quality delivered.

This is a great spot for a tasty lunch or an upscale dinner. The atmosphere is rustic chic complete with wood panel walls, copper backsplash at bar side, and rusty metal siding wall panels. The food is delicious and certainly worth the stop. Try their specialty cocktails, beers, and wine. If you're in Oak Harbor, come visit this darling spot!
Shannon Tate — Google review
Ok first things first, this is a small business, so if you want fast food, and low prices go to McDonald's. The food, drinks and water came to us in a good amount of time. I would say we waiting not even 3 minutes for water, ordered our food and good good quality food in about 10 or 15 minutes. The food was wonderful. But if you like boring and no robust food again go to McDonald's. This uses flavors throughout its menu. Again not cheap it is a great date night once a month for dinner and good for lunches.

Seabolt's Restaurant is a low-key dining spot located in a smoked fish house and market. This family-owned establishment has been serving up surf 'n' turf dishes, along with a selection of microbrews and wines since 1978. Voted as the best seafood, clam chowder, and fish & chips by the locals of Whidbey Island, Seabolt's is known for its delicious and fresh local seafood.
Sunday noon wasn't as crowded as I expected at all! Seafood gumbo is hearty with heaping chunks of salmon and veggies. Very well flavored with a stick of crunchy and moist focaccia bread stick on the side. Mixed shells with clam and mussels were phenomenal as usual with the wine and butter sauce. Penn cove mussels were as fresh as it can be! So juicy. Coleslaw was one of those sweeter ones, not a fan but got the job done. Will definitely be coming back regularly.

The staff was super accommodating with our last minute group of 15+. Usually they prefer 2+ hours notice for larger reservations, so if you're planning ahead, please make note 🙂 seating is definitely limited inside. The patio is probably lovely in the summer! Hubs got the cod fish and chips and loved them! Fries are the awesome beer battery crispy type, soft on the inside, flavor explosion outside. The ingredients on my burger were so fresh! I do agree that the patties do seem pre made, but all the fresh ingredients make it a wonderful burger for a non seafood eater! The bacon was perfectly cooked and their BBQ sauce is amazing. Kids grilled cheese and other items our friends ordered like the calamari chips and custom chili lime sauce looked perfectly made too! Plus they have an awesome counter inside filled with seafood goodies to take home. Definitely worth the stop, this staff is very hard working!

Kids friendly, big portion fresh meal, super friendly attentive staff, food is ready after a bathroom trip ( mixed shell seafood is one of the order that is ready) I am just so glad we made a trip to this place and it looks like a popular place in local community. We saw a big turn out today on Friday noon. My husband and I had a blast. My little one enjoys the food even more that he grabs food, smash in mouth and makes it all over the face non stop. 😂

Have been wanting to try Seabolt's after a friend recommended it to us and was not disappointed! I dined-in with table service and had the best clam chowder (chock full of clams) and the grilled salmon sandwich with a side (slaw). Everything was excellent! There's obviously smoked fish & beef jerky to take away alongside their famous salmon pate, oysters and dungeness crab when available. I can't wait to return in the summer and enjoy their outdoor patio!

The food was amazing. The staff was super friendly. Sarah was very helpful with recommending what to get. Definitely recommend trying the platter so you get a little taste of everything. I can’t express how much I enjoyed the seafood here super super fresh

They have such friendly waitresses. Great fish n chips and fish tacos. Clam Chowder has lots fresh clams in it.

We always try and plan our trip to the area to eat here! Has a fun atmosphere with local pictures on the wall! We usually get the captains platter. Today I had the mixed shells and wife had the halibut tacos (tons of halibut) Very tasty! There is outdoor dining as well.

The food was delicious. Their fries are some of the best I’ve had ever (from anywhere). Unfortunately the outdoor seating is alongside the roadway so it can get a bit noisy. We opted to eat outside because it was humid and warm inside. Service was mediocre. A lot of things on the menu weren’t available sadly. I waited for a water refill but no one ever came so I just got up and poured my own. So a few stars off for service

If you’re looking for fresh seafood, look no further. This place is a hidden gem on Whitbey island and some of the best seafood ever. Their beer battered cod is fresh, not frozen. The serving portions are excellent and service is very good. They also sell fresh fish to go among other types of seafoods. One word of advice is to arrive early as many customers were waiting for a table at the lunch hour when we visited or do take out to avoid a long wait or disappointment.

Today, February 15, 2024, my husband and I decided we were in the mood for a seafood lunch. We figured we hadn't been to Seabolts in a while, so we drove over there after we went grocery shopping. It was about 1 PM. Upon arrival, we needed to use the bathroom. We walked to the back, used the facilities, and walked back up to the front. We got up to the counter and were looking in the glass case at the available products for purchase when a server told us to have a seat, so we did. The entire restaurant was freezing cold, and I'm not exaggerating. My fingers were frozen the entire time. The female server (shoulder length brown/blonde hair with glasses), came up to us and awkwardly and borderline rudely told us we should have waited at the front to be seated, then she walked away. She came back for a drink order, we asked for water, and she came back 4 times within 5 minutes asking for our food order. We felt rushed, so we each hurriedly picked an order. I ordered the sampler and chips, and my husband got the halibut and chips. I also got a cup of clam chowder. Around 10-15 minutes later, I received my cup of soup. Shortly after, we got our orders. First off, they advertise "beer battered" seafood. As you can see from my pictures, the fish was almost battered in... Shake-'n-Bake. It was heavily breaded in a panko/breadcrumb like crust. It definitely wasn't what we were expecting. The fish itself was overcooked, and the oil definitely was a day away from being shot. The clam chowder was pretty decent, thankfully. The chili lime tartar is WAY overly seasoned and almost gritty. I included a photo. Definitely not what I was expecting. It doesn't pair well with fish. Their regular tartar is very good. After a few bites of our food, a woman behind us sent her food back to the kitchen. We couldn't hear what she said, but she didn't look pleased. The server, a tall girl with long blonde hair in a ponytail, turned around and rolled her eyes. She took the plate to the kitchen, where my husband and I watched the entire staff (including the cooks) eat this woman's returned food. This probably delayed some orders, but from what I could see, the staff had no sense of urgency to begin with. It was crazy, not only because they were doing it, but they could see us staring at them. The kitchen is wide open. The staff also didn't seem to be a cohesive unit with any structure at all. All servers were waiting all tables, picking up tabs, and bringing out orders. I have no idea how they could keep track of what was going on, which is why I saw people arrive and order after us and receive their food first. Before we finished eating, a different server from our original dropped off a check and said "No rush." We weren't even asked if we needed boxes or if we were finished. Heck, they didn't even ask if we wanted dessert. All around, a super disappointing experience. I wanted to write this review not only for the hope management sees this to improve their service. I hope this encourages others find much better restaurants that are reflective of the wonderful fresh seafood we are blessed to have access to locally. I hope tourists don't flock here and leave unsatisfied. We will not be returning.

I would give it a 4.5 irl. The food was really good if you’re craving fried seafood and/or clam chowder. I’d say the clam chowder was better than pike place market. The portions are large, especially for the captains platter. Would strongly recommend!

The fried cod sandwich and onion rings were fire today! I also had a small side salad but the tomato wedges weren't quite up to par today, either they were "old" or weren't being stored cold: they were a little grainy. Still, a great meal overall and I left thoroughly satisfied and full. They were slammed for lunch, but kept the service pleasant and everyone seemed to be working very hard to accommodate everyone.

I read the reviews about the clam chowder so we figured we should give it a try and it did not disappoint! The restaurant was very busy and the staff was working their tails off to keep up and the did a great job! The clam chowder is absolutely fantastic! My wife and I really like trying clam chowder everywhere we travel around the US and Seabolts can definitely hold its own! Highly recommend!

Must eat seafood when in Oak Harbor! I ordered the sockeye salmon on house salad with balsamic dressing. I added the cajun seasoning and it put the sockeye in the perfect category! The menu accurately provided the weight which is good for those following meal plans! The greens were fresh and plentiful! My husband ordered the halibut sandwich with fries. Fries were crispy on the outside, potatoey on the inside, and full of flavor. The halibut was meaty, crispy, not too fishy, and one of the best he has had! Our daughter ordered the grilled cheese with fries. The grilles cheese was properly melted with a soft inside and crispy outside. She agreed with her dad on the fry description. We stayed past closing and the staff did not say anything. They were very nice and attentive! It was a great night catching up with friends we have not seen in a decade and appreciated the great service and food!

I’m dumbfounded. With all the great reviews I expected this to be one of the best restaurants on Whidbey Island. Instead, it was one of the worst takeout experiences I’ve had in my life. It took 30 minutes for a fried oyster platter and halibut tacos. Both were terrible. The fried oysters were hopelessly overdone and looked and tasted like fried fishy footballs. Awful. I ate half of one and threw rest away. The tacos were strangely shredded fish meat that tasted like it had been sautéed in discounted .39 generic taco seasoning, and covered in shredded lettuce and yellow cheese. Really bad. I did eat the tacos out of spite because they cost almost $25. I feel like I just lit $50 on fire. The fries and tartar sauce were ok. F-
