Park
Nature & Parks
Cooter Pond Park is a delightful destination that comes highly recommended. This serene location features a picturesque boardwalk, perfect for leisurely strolls. During the sunset hours, one can witness an impressive array of wildlife, including alligators, turtles, ducks, and other fascinating creatures. It's an ideal spot for families or individuals seeking tranquility and natural beauty. The park offers an opportunity to observe various critters up close regardless of the weather conditions.
Cooter Pond Park is definitely one of the best things that happened to that area. It's Fall, 🍁 I knew that everything would be changing colors, so I decided to drive over there to capture it. It is breathtaking at any time of year. Especially now, after the drought that we've been having here, a lot of the trees have dried out, and their leaves have changed color . The weather was perfect, with the slight breeze blowing on the pond . This park is handicap friendly. There are a couple of different benches scattered throughout the boardwalk as well as covered gazebos. It's a perfect view from every angle of the park. You can also walk along the water in a wooded area and back out to a trail onto the other side of the pond. Quite a few Gators were present. So you need to be looking on both sides when walking in the wooded area . Don't forget that gators come out of the water. On the other side of the pond, there's a beautiful paved walkway that is shaded. With benches throughout the park with views of the entire ponds. It is the perfect place to take a break away from the everyday hustle and bustle. One day, I'll get there for Sunrise it must be incredible over the pond. Safe travels

Nice boardwalk area to walk around on. Even though this park is named after turtles I only saw one. Saw more fish than anything. Alright for a quick walk, but nothing super exciting
Rebecca Kenefick — Google review
This is a nice walk with much to see. Many little critters if you look close. As you can see this was taken when it was warmer. But just as nice in cooler weather.
Deborah Hoffman — Google review
Cute little park. They have a gazebo and some picnic tables. We seen 2 gators and a bunch of turtles of course. People fish on the walk way.

2023-10-22: This is a nice, little park on Cooter Pond. There is a boardwalk along a good portion of the pond where you can see a variety of wildlife. I saw six gators around six to eight feet long. There are quite a few Cooters (turtles) for which this pond gets its name from.
Dennis — Google review
Park is very clean and a fun place to learn! I saw quite a bit of wildlife and enjoyed the views of the lake from the boardwalk. Can’t wait to visit again!

Cooter Pond Park is absolutely one of the best things about Inverness and this part of Florida without a doubt! After recently re-discovering how much fun it is to get out on a bicycle again after perhaps 30 years or so (!) and with all of the wonderful, naturally occurring nature at our very doorstep to explore, getting out on the Withlacoochee State Trail and visiting places like Cooter Pond Park, Liberty Park, Wallace Brooks Park and Fort Cooper State Park in Inverness have actually put a smile on my face more days than not in the past several weeks. Cooter Pond Park is a truly wonderful place to visit and great for the whole family, for going solo to explore as I do, or to go every single day for the rest of your life, strolling hand in hand with your favorite person in the whole wide world along the boardwalk. whatever your situation is it's a great place. It is very peaceful and never too crowded. As you walk the boardwalk and look out onto Cooter Pond you will be treated to so many different birds, alligators (as I may have mentioned lol!), and don't forget about the Cooter turtles which you'll find plentifully in the late afternoon as well.
Lynette Mace — Google review
I love to include this boardwalk around Cooter Pond on my bike ride on the Withalacoochie Bike Trail. You never know what kind of wildlife are going to make an appearance on any given day!

A beautiful and easy nature walk. It's a great spot to see wild alligators, turtles, birds, fish and snakes

Beautiful .5 mile boardwalk (gators, turtles, fish, birds) - sadly people were pigs leaving trash/food leftovers along the way - no trash receptical close for me to clean up.

Absolutely beautiful! Saw many alligators, Cooper turtles, birds, and fish.

The Inverness pond is a cool spot to hang and have a relaxing lunch or just come and walk the dog. We took a scenic view and caught an 🐊 alligator or two but no turtles this time. It has a few neat games for the kids and is always litter free. You’re safe to being the kids and parking is free with plenty of it available.
JACOBGAMER20 Jones — Google review
What a wonderful place to go! I would highly recommend cooter's Pond Park it's a very peaceful place and basically it's a boardwalk and if you go around sunset every evening at this time of year you're guaranteed to probably see probably between three and five alligators and numerous turtles ducks and all kinds of other wildlife. Great place to visit and I'm so fortunate to live a half a mile from here so I'm there everyday usually around sunset is my favorite. Great to bring the family or solo or anyting just be sure to go

History Museums
The Old Courthouse Heritage Museum, established in 1912, is a historical building that now serves as a local-history museum. It showcases rich history and offers insights into the region's development and the displacement of Native American tribes. The museum features an art exhibit, providing visitors with an opportunity to appreciate local creativity. Additionally, it highlights the Seminole Indians' relocation, with only a small group managing to evade being relocated through hiding in swamps.
As an Elvis fan I had to visit! It was fun being in the courthouse where Elvis filmed “ Follow That Dream” scenes. There were some pictures and items on display from the movie and it’s making. Courtroom is on the second story. A small gift store is open at different times to buy books, shirts, magnets and more, and not just Elvis ones either. Nice historical courthouse with details about its history. I would come back to visit again . Oh, the admission is FREE! Donations excepted.
Jody — Google review
A must-visit for Elvis fanatics! But honestly, there's rich history in this old courthouse showing how this region came alive, how they flourished ... and how they drove out the native tribes. University of Florida hosts one room with rotating exhibits.
Rob Rosenberger — Google review
A wonderful heritage museum in the old restored courthouse in Citrus County Florida, where one of Elvis's movies (Follow that Dream) was filmed. The museum displays date from prehistory of that region of Florida to more recent times. If you're ever in the area, its worth a stop. The small town of Inverness is charming.
Michael Raynes — Google review
Very nice old courthouse. The staff were friendly and explained the different areas to explore. The marble steps and walls were beautiful. The courtroom upstairs gorgeous with all the old wood. I especially liked the old artifacts. They have one room that changes month to month and they aprons displayed reminded me of my childhood.

This place was awesome!! The workers were very enthusiastic about working there and were very helpful and friendly! They had excellent exhibits!!
Dawn Bowen — Google review
You'll never guess who I ran into today in the Citrus County Courthouse Museum. None other than Elvis! He was all over the place. Apparently in 1961 he was there to film "Follow That Dream". The old Courthouse is a terrific place to visit and soak in the history of life going back to and including the Native Americans who once called this area home. There is a life size model of a native speaking about his life there and loads of interesting artifacts spread out through several rooms. Upstairs is where Elvis appeared in the courtroom scene in the film. Elvis fans will really enjoy a visit to this place as well as history buffs. There's a lot to see and interesting events are also held there. Coming up on August 17, 2017, is a performance by an Elvis tribute artist, Peter Alden. Should be fun. Be sure to check out the museum next time you're in Inverness. It is handicap accessible with an outdoor elevator at the main entrance.

Pretty cool place, with a lot of local history. Also, my wife was very excited because Elvis made a movie there. 😆

Went there this evening for a Rotary Club event that my friend was involved with.

Loved the local art exhibit. Also learning a bit about Seminole Indians who were relocated except for 300 who hid in the swamps. Would like to know more about the Seminole peoples' removal. Loved the upstairs courtroom and photo op with a wig and robe. Thanks for keeping historical building and contents available and free. Really appreciated volunteers introduction to key points.

Open green space & lake, with many species of plants & animals, for camping, hiking & picnicking.
Really cool park off the Withlacoochee bike trail. The park has trails to walk or ride. Restrooms and picnic areas available. There's a small fee to enter the park $2 per cyclist if entering from the bike trail. It's definitely worth the fee if you want to get off the beaten path. The trail loops are dirt but easy to walk or ride. Lots of big live oaks for shade. Overall great park to visit.

One of the best places to grab your bicycle and take a ride. We also took a boat ride on the lake and a person cannot describe the natural beauty this place has to offer, hated to leave there and go back home we will be back very soon

It's a nice park with good parking and a number of paths you can walk on. There are some swings, picnic benches and covered pavilions. There is also a cool old fort if you're willing to take a little walk to get to it. The scenery is just what you'd expect at a quality Florida state park... A nice way to spend an hour or three...

Fort Cooper State Park is where it really all came together in my brain as far as the Seminole War history here in Florida. The way the trails from Fort to Fort line up throughout the state helps one to understand how Florida became what it is today. For the visitor, Fort Cooper SP had excellent trails, a mix of paved and wide nature trails, with a remade wall showing where the fort used to be. There was lots of information along the trail to learn about the history, and it was really neat to see a Military Road where the Wagon Trails were. For families it was a beautiful area with a playground for kids, and event space, and pretty grounds to set up an event or party that are available to be reserved. They were beautiful lake views everywhere and wonderful large Live Oaks throughout throughout the park offering shade and beauty. It truly was a beautiful park.

Was a nice place to take a walk had my dog with me it would have been nice to see a few more trash cans as they all seemed to be in the picnic area

I took my son here to view the park as a possibility for his 1st birthday party. I instantly fell in love, it is so quiet and relaxing 😌 he loved our stroll through the park. The views are breath taking !! And everything is really well kept.

What a beautiful park! I fell in love with this place. So quiet and peaceful. Lots of picnic tables and grills to use. Restrooms on site. Some nice trails. Decent playground for kids in the shade of the trees. You can't go wrong spending a few hours here. The view to the lake is so relaxing. I highly recommend you at least stop by to see the wonderful natural settings of this park.

We celebrated my mom's 80th birthday at the lodge and had a wonderful time. The lodge was clean and we really enjoyed the indoor market lights. Penny was very easy to work with and all of the rangers were very friendly. My niece loved the playground and when we went outside to take pictures, we saw a family of sand cranes including a baby! Thank you for maintaining such a lovely park for all to enjoy!

Fort Cooper is a little wilderness Florida State park. It is well maintained in all aspects and is quite beautiful. The wife, dog and I take advantage of the many hiking trails at least three times a week. There is abundant wildlife and much natural beauty to admire along the way. This area was the place of a Seminole battle which is recreated annually . Also, educational kiosks are available along the trails providing rich information about the Seminoles and their history. The staff is super friendly and helpful as well. If you ever get an opportunity to go to this hidden gem I highly recommend it.
Jeff Pelot — Google review
Loved our visit to this state park! We visited on a Saturday in April. It was very quiet with only one other car while we visited. I cannot believe how much wild life we saw. There are beautiful, clean facilities and many trails ranging from 20 minutes to about 1 hour to hike or stroll. The water lilies are beautiful and the owl was my favorite. There is no actual fort anymore, but plenty of history to read about. We have a state park pass, but the entry fee of $3 is VERY reasonable for such a great park!

The best dog park we have ever experienced. Highly recommend for active dogs that love to run. Awesome little pond. Two sides, 1 for large dogs and 1 for small dogs. Our 1 year old Maggie, Chocolate labrador Retriever LOVED it. Slept all the way home. Must meet requirements to get in and must be socialized. Awesome reception. Grooming on site too or a place to rinse off. 10$ a day or 30$ a month. **NOTE - FIRST, for the people who complained and gave it 1⭐ because it's for members, it is clearly written on their web page. So they should look before they go anywhere with their pet. They are the ones at fault not the dog park. SECOND, for those who complained that you had to show papers, well I like the fact you have to prove your dog is fully vaccinated and SOCIALIZED!! So many people say their dog is socialized and they are not which makes it a pain for those whose dogs are socialized. So I give it ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ for everything.

We love this place! And so do our pups! 🐶 I have to say this is the best dog park in Inverness Florida. This facility is amazing. There's so much room for the dogs to run at this dog park. The other dog owners are very responsible with their dogs depending on their temperament. Some of them walk their dogs with a leash and some let their dogs run free throughout the dog park because their dogs are not aggressive with others. Everyone does a great job cleaning up after their dogs. Our dogs will run for well over an hour with each other and with other dogs. Sometimes they will chase a tennis balls, other times they like to play with the other toys that are provided here at Bark Central Dog Park. The staff is polite, friendly, and always willing to help. Do it yourself dog wash is so convenient and affordable. It makes bringing your dog(s) here a pleasure knowing that when you come here you can let your dog run through the water the mud in the sand and when you leave you can bathe them so they are squeaky clean and shiny. Also located here is Dianne's Pet Styling. Diane is a professional dog groomer providing a stress free environment and has been grooming dogs for over 30 years. All in all this place rocks! If you love your dog you must bring them to Bark Central Dog Park.

Plenty of space, fresh water, cleanup spots all around, a giant pond, and a spot to rinse your dog and blow them dry… what more can you ask for? And the membership price is great. Also has a bathing section to wash. My dog loves it, and doggie scoop bags are provided too.
Chelsee LeBlanc — Google review
This dog park is awesome! The best one I've ever found and my dog absolutely loves it!!! However please make sure your dog is on flea & tick prevention! A couple of months ago I left with a tick in my hair & my dog also had a tick.. I figured it could've been from anywhere and blew it off, but I took my dog again last week and found another 2 ticks on him. He only ever gets ticks when we come here and he is on prevention so they died as soon as they attached but just beware that there are a ton of ticks here! Otherwise it really is a nice place. I would come a lot more often and get a membership if it weren't for the excessive ticks.

Nice dog park that offers plenty of enjoyment for your dogs. The park its split into two main areas (small dogs & all dogs) they also have a third area where you can train your dogs. Both main areas over a walking trail around the perimeter, pond, auto fill water bowls and chairs for people. The area has a large amount of covered area by tree hammocks which makes it more enjoyable during the hotter times. They have a rinse down area (free) to rinse your dog off before you leave if needed and they also have a restroom. On the walking trails the staff takes the time to paint tree roots to lower the risk of someone tripping and the trails are kept pretty clean.

We had a blast visiting Bark Central today! Charlie loved roaming the 10 acres and hopping in and out of the pool. We met a few other friendly dogs! Charlie is exhausted now as we head home. Would definitely come visit again. Check the office hours before coming if it's your first day. And you'll need to bring vaccination records. I paid $10/day visit. I think it's $30/month. And I paid $7 to wash Charlie and use their shampoo/brushes/water/towels. There is also a rinse off station outside and a blow dryer outside. 10/10
Kelli Bell — Google review
I absolutely love this place. There is a charge for your pup to get in, but worth every penny. They have daily, monthly, and annual plans. It does require you shot records, and they walk in with you your first time to make sure that your dog isn't a problem child. They have a man made pond on both the little and big dog side, and an agility area. Big dog area is 10 acres and little dog side is 5 acres. If your dog is high energy and you can make it here they will come home drained of that energy. This will also take behavioral issues to little to none.
Robert Madruga — Google review
Absolutely our favorite dog park! Dogs are split into big dog/small dog area. All are fully vaccinated. Staff is great. Rinse stations and blower available after swimming in the pond.

Beautiful lakefront park with parking, picnic, restrooms, water, and even outdoor showers. Right on the Withlacochee trail, it's in an area with several parks and also serves as a trailhead for the trail in addition to the state trailhead just a bit north. There is also a boardwalk and walking trails throughout this area.

Outstanding public park with ample parking and wonderful amenities. There is a long boardwalk that allows you to get close to nature, nice docks jetting out into the water, and enough trails to keep you busy for a good deal of time. MaKe sure you stop by, you’ll be glad you did!

Seafood restaurant
Stumpknockers Restaurants is a lively dining establishment adorned with maritime-themed accents, offering a range of delectable Florida specialties including catfish and alligator. The service provided by the waitstaff is impressively swift. The fish and fries are particularly noteworthy as they feature flounder instead of the usual cod, which is expertly fried. For those with smaller appetites, the kid's meal proves to be generously portioned, even yielding leftovers.
Interesting menu and interior design aesthetic. Excellent service at lunch. The meal was tasty. There house beer was also good. And, they have REAL Key Lime pie!

Ok, just WOW. Truly a 5 star pirate experience here every time we come. Ambiance, service and food are great for a seafood restaurant. Food came out hot and fresh, our server was very nice and knowledgeable. I highly recommend the peel and eat shrimp and po boys. Small kids can split a generous portion kids meal. We even got more shrimp to go cold for the boat the next day, soooo good!! We will be back!

Service: 4 stars Food: 3.5 stars Ambiance: 4 stars Nice local place. We shared 2 appetizers with our friends. The mussels were delicious. I was curious about Gator so we ordered the bites, not bad, tender, for me tasted like fried oysters. I am not a breaded-fry person, so for me they were okay. My husband and I shared a bowl of Cajun Stew (?), it was full of beef chunks and very tasty. We also shared the Grouper, which was good but a little undercooked, lacking flakiness. Our friends enjoyed their meal and come here often.

Lightening fast service from our waitress. The fish and chips were excellent though we opted with the French fries to replace chips and it was a great choice. The fish wasn’t the standard cod, they served flounder. It was beautifully fried. The kids shared a kid meal and it was enough to feed them both and bring leftovers home. Parking could be tricky if visited during busy times but we went between lunch and dinner rush and had no parking issues.

Food was amazing server was terrible. Boyfriend went to ask her about something in the area and she said she was to busy ok no problem. She never came to ask if we needed refills on are drinks boyfriend had to go in and ask for her to come to the table. By time she came we finished are plates asked for her to take them she said she didn't have time. We ordered dessert two pieces of pie and it took twenty minutes to get them. She just dropped them off and rushed off.

This place is awesome if you are looking for a great little seafood dining place. We have dined at some REALLY expensive seafood places and had escargot many times but, Stumpknocker's escargot went to the top of my all time favorites. And as a catfish lover, their breading is like no other. Go for the All-U-Can-Eat if you are brave enough. I think I had around 18 delicious filets.
Chris Lillard — Google review
Cool ambiance and friendly staff. My only complaint is everything in the menu looked appealing. So I had a hard time deciding what to eat. Ended up eating the all you can eat fried catfish with a baked sweet potato, clam chowder soup, corn cob and hush puppies. Yes that is one meal! Oh and their in house made Pale Ale was absolutely delicious! Will come back to try their other meals!

Wow what a great place!! I’ve been going there for years, and Stumpknockers is perhaps my favorite of all restaurants out there! They have been consistently wonderful throughout the years, and I mainly go there for the catfish. The staff are always friendly and welcoming, and I’m happy with the large portion sizes of the food. Also the atmosphere there is really nice, including pleasant background music, and they offer more than just seafood, and have everything from chicken sandwiches to steak, and they easily get five stars!

This is a delightful place to visit. The food we ordered was mediocre. We do not recommend the mild wings. Oily and not tasty. Hush puppies tasted the same. The salad was generous and very nice. The catfish was good. Our waiter was awesome and service was excellent.

One of the best treasures we have found all season! Having never been to Inverness we enjoyed the atmosphere. Highly recommend you try this hidden gem! Real authentic Florida seafood! Catfish was amazing and really large portions! The food was beyond good! Delicious, and great customer service too! I loved the Old Florida deco and style! So sad we’re leaving to head North but will be back again soon!!!

There was nothing special to write home about, and I even had the specialty Catfish Sandwich prepared blackened. The bun was too light to stand up to the catfish filet and turned into a soggy mess! The French fries are just Sysco Foods battered fries that any other restaurant serves. Service was very slow for a not so busy Friday afternoon. I'm really disappointed for such a local legend!

My sibling and I decided to celebrate a birthday at Cinnamon Sticks, a breakfast restaurant. The reception was warm and we were promptly seated with our drink orders taken. Our waitress, Miranda, gave us ample time to peruse the extensive menu and make our selections. The variety of options available was impressive. As it was a special occasion, we opted for multiple dishes to share.
This small restaurant really shines even though it is a part of the motel next door. More often restaurants or cafes of this nature are subpar, but Cinnamon Sticks made an impression. The food was cheap but good. I got some biscuits and gravy and it was a huge serving of food for under ten dollars. Everyone there was polite and cordial, and it was refreshing to see some young people working there. Living close to the Villages makes young people seem like an endangered species.

This is a nice breakfast spot. The food is very good and the prices aren't too bad. The waitresses are super sweet and the coffee is better than average. I would've rated higher, but there is a problem with the waiting situation. I always request to sit outside and there are ALWAYS tables available outside, but I still wait just as long to sit outside as others wait to sit inside. Just seems very inefficient and does not create the best first impression.

We went here three years ago and had a terrible lunch, HOWEVER, we revisted yesterday & EVERYTHING about it was 5 stars. Did they get new ownership? Definitely will be returning!

My sister and I decided to celebrate my birthday at Cinnamon Sticks and it was awesome! The hostess immediately welcomed us and we were seated and our drink orders were taken. We then met our waitress Miranda, who gave us time to view thmenu and make our choices. To say there are a few choices, that is an understatement so since it was my birthday we chose a few of the different items. Miranda knew we were sharing so when she brought it out it was separated so each of us had an individual plate of each selection. This food was delicious, and the iced coffees with the extra shot were so good! I am glad we made the choice to come here today!

The ambient was cool with local art everywhere My food was okay, I didn't like the toast being smothered with grease, It wasn't butter, I have no idea what it was. The acai bowl was delicious. Service was good over all, I would of liked to see more patience when sitting the elderly. The cinnamon French toast tasted just like regular french toast. My 12 year old had an omelet and my 10 year old had the kids French toast, they liked their food

Excellent place for breakfast! The server was polite and knowledgeable of the menu. We ordered quite the variety and every dish was as equally as amazing as the other. I ordered the peach pancakes and they were delish! They didn’t have the boba 🧋 that my daughter wanted.. and it’s wildly overpriced here.. but it’s Inverness. They were out so I didn’t have to cough up the $16. That’s a win for me! It’s amazing here and worth the wait if there ever is one. We are coming back tomorrow and I can’t wait 😝

For my first time here, it was very disappointing. It was early morning Saturday. Only 2 people inside. I ordered an omelette with home fries and pancakes. Unfortunately I didn't take a picture of the food because it looked that bad. The omelette was small and over cooked. My pancakes were chewy and just terrible. My home fries never came until after I complained. About 15 minutes later I finally got my home fries but they were pretty much undercooked. I didn't even finish them because they were nasty. Whoever is the cook really needs to get fired. I can make better breakfast than this. I was never was offered a refill. Our waitress was nice enough to deduct the home fries but honestly I will never step foot in this place again. I have been to way better places than this for breakfast.

I ended up stopping here as I was getting some work done at a business nearby and it was a great find. I stopped in around 1pm and was able to sit down, order, eat, and pay within 30 minutes. I ordered the chicken avocado melt and it was fantastic. Picture is after I ate one half of it! My waitress was Cindy and is definitely an asset to this establishment. Very friendly, pleasant, and efficient. Sitting watching other interactions by sitting near the host stand, no matter how busy or what she was doing, she always greeted and was friendly with everyone. Will definitely be back to try the breakfast.

Pizza restaurant
Angelo's Pizzeria is a casual, family-owned restaurant known for its New York-style pizzas and traditional Italian dishes. Customers have enjoyed their pizza for takeout on numerous occasions, but the lasagna is a standout option that has captivated many visitors. The lasagna boasts an incredibly fresh and authentic Italian sauce, creating a truly delightful dining experience. Alongside the delicious food, Angelo's Pizzeria offers wonderful bread, excellent sweet tea, and appetizing French onion soup.
Had the Tuscan Pasta WOW! Flavors for days! Just passing through Inverness with mom and decided to stop. Cute place looks like it was a house made into a restaurant and bar. Very comfortable atmosphere. Our server Stephine was awesome. The French onion was salty said mom but everything else was awesome. Maybe a few more veggie items on the menu 🙏🙏🙏 looks like a great place for dinner we will be back for sure!

Great pizza in an historic home. Inside seating in a couple locations with outside seating in a relaxed porch setting. A beautiful wooden bar is located in one of the indie seating areas. Pizza was delicious. The rice meatball appetizer tasted and appeared to be a purchased, frozen product, like most of the desserts. The great pizza and historic atmosphere makes this a must stop restaurant.

Took a few mins to be seated. But food was amazing! A little pricey but worth it if you do leftovers.

Nice atmosphere, food was very good, service good (complete with East Coast accent) prices reasonable. Garlic knots yummy and dessert authentic. Would return in a heartbeat! 💓

I have ordered sicilian pizza here for a few years now. And have loved everyone. Its the closest to sicilian pizza from NJ...Until the last couple of times. It must be someone new making them. I get way more crust on the edges at least 2"wide. Less toppings, sauce and cheese. I realize it's a thick pizza. But there should only be 1/2" of crust on edges. Specially when your paying good money for the specialty pizza. I have a pic but unable to submit.

I have enjoyed their pizza for takeout many times but i came here on date night to have the lasagna. I am obsessed with their lasagna!! It has the freshest tasting, authentic Italian sauce i have ever had!! Their bread is wonderful, they have very good sweet tea and wet enjoyed their French onion soup as well. The restaurant is lovely inside and perfect for date night!! This place is a gem. It's worth the drive from anywhere. We will be back!!

Pizza was above average very tasty & crispy delicious crust. Blue cheese dressing was chunky & creamy just the way it should be although I wish the salad had a little more to it, kind of skimpy. I would recommend ordering ahead for pick up. Unfortunately service was not as good as pizza. Good help is hard to find😢

Olive Garden Italian Restaurant is a vibrant and family-friendly chain that offers a wide range of classic Italian dishes and fresh salads. The service provided by the staff is outstanding, with attentive servers who efficiently handle multiple tables. The food arrives quickly, maintaining its quality and freshness. The manager exemplifies kindness and provides excellent customer service. This establishment is highly recommended for anyone looking for a delightful dining experience.
I dined in at this location earlier today, and Justin was an amazing server. He was very attentive, and he really stayed on top of things considering he had multiple tables. The food came out really fast, fresh and was good just like always. The manager here is really nice too, and she’s super sweet. I’ll definitely ask for Justin for now on when I dine in at this location, and anyone else should too. You won’t be disappointed that you did, I promise! We’ll be back soon!😊

Very nice restaurant. The service was friendly but not exceptional. The food came out quickly and piping hot. The portions were very big and we had enough left over for lunch the next day. Also I love the fact that this restaurant is very active in giving back to the community.

We were not disappointed choosing Olive Garden for our celebratory dinner!! My daughter and I have accomplished so much in a short time. The food was spectacular, absolutely delicious and the service was top-notch. I have to acknowledge an amazing young woman, Ryann, who provided amazingly personal customer service. She was friendly, bubbly, patient, very observant, and went above and beyond to make us feel like valued customers; unlike the rest of the staff, but I can overlook that because the food was amazing. Personal Note: I have to encourage Olive Garden's upper management/corporate offices to recognize those few individuals who give your brand a good name based on the outstanding service they provide your customers. I can tell you that Ryann is someone who is a perfect example of the kind of service that should be provided by those in the hospitality industry. She leads by example and would make a great training leader for all others representing your brand. If it had not been for her excellent attention to detail this review would have been totally different!!

This Olive Garden is delicious like all the rest. I got soup instead of salad. I love their Zuppa Tuscana. Wish I could get the recipe for that. You also get breadsticks with the meal. I ordered spaghetti with meat sauce and added meatballs and some extra sauce. Everything was delicious. I think most people already know about Olive Garden. The place gets very busy. The price was very reasonable. They have a special for lunch. I definitely recommend this place.

Went for a friends birthday dinner, we made a reservation for 7 but it last minute became 10 which we called to warn them and they were very accommodating. Our server mark was attentive and gave us everything we need. Servers Brad, James, and Natania also checked on us and helped with our entire experience. Will definitely be back as Olive Garden is amazing!

I enjoyed my lunch. I had chicken parmasian with salad. The salad had a weird taste and was okay but not quite right. The server was absolutely wonderful. She checked in with me and was great. She said she was new and just a heads up to whomever hired her...AWESOME. She will be a great addition to your team.

Soo good. The lunch specials are nice. I love the soup, salad, and breadsticks are delicious. For 3.99 you can get unlimited sauces to dip the breadsticks in! I got the giant stuffed shells and they did not disappoint. The staff are very quick and attentive. For a chain restaurant, they are top tier.

Seafood restaurant
Family restaurant
Cedar River Seafood is a fantastic seafood restaurant with a wide variety of delectable dishes. Their appetizers include crispy fried green tomatoes, banana peppers, and calamari, although the calamari lacked much flavor. For main courses, they offer shrimp, flounder, catfish, gator tails, blackened red snapper, and even Alfredo pasta with fried chicken for kids.
Cutting across Florida after a visit to Mt. Dora, hoping to find a 'Mom&Pop' type of eatery. This particular location looked the part, even if the building seemed a little outdated. We were greeted by Kimberlee who can only be described as an outstanding waitress who delivers every meal with a side of sass! She suggested the stuffed flounder for me, and the wife chose the lunch combo special (blackened flounder and fried shrimp). Both meals came with two sides and hush puppies. The portions were very generous and the prices were amazing! But the meal experience was made special by the entertaining and efficient Kimberlee!

Busy place. Food is marginal. My friends both had the all you can eat shrimp. One had fried shrimp, the other blackened shrimp. I had a blackened rib eye steak. Shrimp were small, my steak dry and chewy. Our sides were exceptionally good. The lima beans and green beans are off the chain. Great french fries and hush puppies. The staff were awesome, nice and menu knowledgeable. They did a great job considering the high volume of customers on a Wednesday at 5:30pm.

First time here! Party of two. I wish I would have found this Gem earlier. Very good seafood. Overall, From the Frog Legs, Calamari, Clams, & Flounder to the homemade green beans and hush puppies the food was outstanding and the prices fair for seafood in the area. Service was friendly with a smile. Cheesecake with drizzled strawberries was delicious. I would have given them a 5 star but the service could have been more attentive, and the place wasn't busy probably because it was an off night and it was during the last couple of hours prior to closing. Clams were overcooked but still very good. Overall 4.5 Starz. After speaking to a few other people about this restaurant the feedback was very positive

My waitress was absolutely amazing! She was new there I can't remember her name but anyways I had the black and catfish fried shrimp and the sweet tea really really good. Nice environment excellent location out of the way it's a great evening place to go to if you've been out on the beach or on the lake all day. Go home shower up and come out and have a nice dinner here

2023-10-22: Today I ordered three pounds of Snow Crab legs, and again, they were fantastic! I also ordered the Gator Tail appetizer, and a bowl of Seafood Gumbo...both were excellent! 2023-08-22: I have been here at least a half dozen times and always order the Snow Crabs legs. They have always been very good. Today, I ordered 1 1/2 lbs. of the Snow Crab legs. They were some of the best crab legs I have had in a long time. They were so good, I ordered another 1 1/2 pounds.

A restaurant offering a variety of seafood meals at a great value; commensurate with food portions, table service, and atmosphere. The attractively priced senior value meals are an excellent consideration. Some selections under $15 per meal! I had the deviled crab and broiled shrimp senior "half & half" with slaw and down home country green beans. Those beans reminded me of Grandma's cooking! It is a neighborhood popular restaurant!

Great joint for seafood. Enjoyed the shrimp and grits; collard greens and fried scallops. Busy place, lots of people, new waitress that was giving it her best effort. Reasonably priced, Would eat there again

Excellent seafood. To start, we had fried green tomatoes, fried banana peppers, calamari (the calamari was just ok - not much flavor). For entrees we had shrimp, flounder, catfish, gator tails, blackened red snapper, my little one had Alfredo pasta with fried chicken (she ate all the pasta not chicken) and for sides: fried okra, lima beans, salad (very fresh), fries, coleslaw, hush puppies (the best). The service was impeccable. We had to wait a little while but once we were seated, we were serviced and food came out pretty quickly. This place is family friendly and clean. Additionally, they have a small selection of beer and wine that you can order. We enjoy coming to this local spot when we visit Inverness and will continue to do so.

Best fresh seafood restaurant in the Inverness, FL area! Many great choices at affordable prices. Everything is cooked perfectly. I had the fried flounder with mashed sweet potatoes. My sister-in-laws got the weekday special of ayce shrimp and flounder. They tried it broiled, blackened and fried. They preferred the fried and the broiled shrimp. Also, couldn't ask for better service.

Top notch waitress on last Monday afternoon. Offered excellent suggestions and got everything we might need. My whole catfish was a little tough but had good flavor. Another person in our party got shrimp and scallops and she said hers was excellent. The Cole slaw was perfect. The butter beans were a bit pasty and overcooked. But these were only minor problems or else I would have given 5 stars. Overall I would recommend this restaurant!

Dine in. Today we had an excellent dinner here at Cedar River Seafood. This was our first time there and we were pleasantly surprised to have a wonderful experience here. I had fried scallop dinner my husband had Cat fish both were excellent. Clam chowder was good also. Only disappointment was only 1 lobster, ran out of sweet potatoes, clam strips two out of 3 that we wanted. We lived without them. Must have been a busy day. We will return and hopefully bring friends.

Friendly and hard working staff. Food came out quickly and decent flavor. I chose blackened shrimp and flounder. Okra was friend nicely, hush puppies where tasty and garlic mashed potatoes were made from scratch. Inside of the restaurant could use a freshing up/updating but over all decent place.

Cedar River is a great little place to get some delicious seafood. Upon many visits here, we have consistently had a great experience. The food has always been fresh, hot, and tasty. The service has been pretty good overall. Some of my favorites are fried catfish, fried okra, green beans, fried oysters, and you have to get their fried green tomatoes.

Deb and I went Friday because we had friends recommend you. They were right, we had the scallops and clam strips. It was delicious and the amount of food was generous. Great service and great food. I say bring your appetite and enjoy.

Our first time there, the food was ok, with the place always so packed, We thought it would have been better food. They used the same seasonings on the flounder and the boiled shrimp. The portion sizes were great, just expected more from the food.

Took my mother to dinner and we had a great meal. There was a slight hiccup in my order, but it was taken care of right away. The food was incredible. Shannon was an absolutely amazing server. Very sweet and took very good care of us. Will definitely be back, and highly recommend.

Went here with a group of 8. We were served in average time, the server, Miranda, was great and very accommodating. So, that’s the good. Many of the people in the party seemed to enjoy their food. I am a native of Florida, and I expect my seafood to be fresh, tasty and properly seasoned. This was not fresh seafood, definitely frozen, and because it tasted “fishy” probably for a long time. I can see this (crab stuffed snapper) having been prepared with the stuffing, which was on top, shrink wrapped and then frozen. The sides were most likely prepared by their food distributor in large portions and then put into ramekins, heated and served. They must have had something prepared by their cooks, but if they did, I didn’t get it. I may be all wrong about my assumptions of how their food ended up on my table, other than by Miranda, who was great, and if I am wrong, then, I guess, that is the unfortunate way they prepare their food. I would not go back.
