Food & Drink
Pirtle Winery, a family-owned establishment founded in 1978 located in a historic church, is a must-visit attraction in Weston. The winery offers tours and tastings for visitors to indulge in their various dessert wines at reasonable prices. Visitors can try as many wines as they want before taking home their favorite bottle. Pirtle Winery also caters to pet lovers by providing water bowls for dogs who accompany their owners on hikes.
Pirtle is our #1 stop in Weston (usually followed by Green Dirt Farm) after a morning/afternoon of hiking. The staff is always extremely kind and caring. Recently we finished hiking with our dog and came here and they offered us a water bowl for our dog. It is small touches like this that make this place great. You can’t go wrong with a wine slushy when it is hot. Before you leave make sure you grab a bottle to take home- Alhambra would be my suggestion if you like reds!

Pirtle Winery is a delightful discovery in the heart of the US! Crisp, refreshing wine and mead, hard cider, and a beautiful setting for a winery and tasting room. Brandi, the manager, made the experience enjoyable and educational. Yet another hidden gem in the heartland!
Michael Baldrey — Google review
My favorite winery in the area. Always a must stop when I come back to the Kansas City area. The Raspberry Meade is so jammy and delicious. Sabrina is always great to lead a tasting..she’s also quite funny. I always leave with several bottles. Weston is such a charming town. Highly recommend for friends and couples alike.
Jennifer Bixler — Google review
Outstanding! This winery has the customer at heart. A wonderful basket of fresh hot Italian bread, summer sausage apple, and two kinds of cheese and a wine bottle all for under $40 sit outside it’s beautiful the music is great all relaxing. Fun for couples and fun for groups. Try the honey mead. It’s amazing.!
Kimberly Bailey — Google review
Awesome place and people!! I believe her name was Brandi that helped us. She was super awesome. My wife wanted a sweatshirt, but, her size wasn’t on the shelf. She took the time to go look for and find one for us. Will definitely be back.
Tony Dumke — Google review
Connor was our girl, and she was amazing! She was very knowledgeable of the wine and was able to give appropriate recommendations. The basement was a good vibe
Breanna Zeman — Google review
Carrie is amazing! An elderly lady came in needing wine and Carrie came downstairs to help her. We’re here most Sunday fundays and Carrie is always onsite to help. Pirtle is gorgeous inside and out. A must stop in weston. On busy weekends you can park at O’Malley’s and walk across the street. You won’t be disappointed! Mellow red is our fave.
Anne Murphy — Google review
Fun location, good wine. Would give 5 stars if not for the awful customer service we experienced there Saturday. We went to the winery for my best friends birthday, granted it was a large party but she had called ahead of time and made arrangements. There was one lady working there who scolded my best friend’s brother for getting a drink from the cooler that we were told to get drinks from? She went to reach in on the other side as he was and then proceeded to yell at him in front of the whole winery. My friend said to another worker, “I didn’t know we couldn’t get drinks out of there” to which the other worker said “no, you can it’s okay” so I’m not sure where the confusion was on that, but still no reason at all to yell at a paying customer for a miscommunication. We also ordered the picnic basket and we were cutting the the cheese and apple with knife and cutting board provided and the same lady that scolded my friends brother came up and rudely yelled at us again. “You can’t do that here. You can’t cut that on this table. there’s standing room downstairs.” We were confused and taken aback considering we had let them know ahead of time we would be coming and spent money doing tastings and buying their picnic basket. Again, great wine and atmosphere but this one worker really ruined our whole experience and we left talking about the rudeness of this woman rather than the great wine. Bummer.
Brittany Zarda — Google review
We had a great time doing a wine tasting! The wines were very good and Shelby was the best. She was super easy to work with and knowledgeable. Very friendly and made us feel at home!! Highly recommend.
Daniel Greenwood — Google review
Shelby B., The lady that helped us was awesome!! She let us try different kinds of wine and she nailed our palettes!!
Jena Workman — Google review
Nice place for dessert wine. You are allowed to try as many as you like and the price of wine is very reasonable. Raspberry mead is my favorite. I bought a couple bottles home and might go back for more.

Doesn't get much better than Pirtle Winery on a sunny 74 degree day in Weston Missouri. The staff is always helpful and patient helping people take out their favorite wine for the afternoon work for the week. Have a bottle there. Take a bottle to go. The little food trays you can get are pretty cheap for how much food you get and worth every penny. Highly recommend stopping their next time you are in Weston Missouri. Shops are just a couple blocks away. What a Charming little Village! Thank you for the winery. We love coming here every year!
Jeremiah Nichol — Google review
Very nice place to sit out on the sun lit deck or just stay inside and talk with friends. We were greeted by a very friendly staff who made us feel right at home and even gave our dog some yummy doggie snacks. We had frozen wine drinks that were very tayste and totally enjoyed our day!!
Bert Winn — Google review
Great Missouri winery with good wine selection plus mead, canned wine and cider . Very friendly staff and great location with indoor/outdoor seating and live music on weekends. One of our favorites in the KC area and always fun to visit Weston.
Heidi Gordon — Google review
The most crowd pleasing wine! I've been coming here for years and it only gets better. Make it a day not a few hours, lots of patio seating and a really good cheese board to sit and enjoy your wine in the "secrete garden" or the back patio. I bring a bottle of Mellow Red to every event or party I go to. The bottle is always empty and wishing I brought more. Great place to do wine tasting and on Saturdays they always have plenty of people working so rarely is there a wait.

State park
Nature & Parks
Park
Weston Bend State Park is a picturesque park that boasts both paved and unpaved trails, as well as stunning views of the Missouri River. The park offers many interesting hiking trails with markers to guide visitors through its pristine surroundings. It is particularly beautiful during the spring, summer, and fall seasons. However, caution must be taken when hiking during muddy conditions as it may become dangerous.
Always love going here. So peaceful, as you look around, you are able to see the river in certain spots, and more so as the trees lose their leaves. The people have always been friendly when we do cross paths with others. So beautiful to go out and look at the colors of the leaves change during the fall months. The walking trails are good to just walk or take a bike and enjoy riding down them. Dogs enjoy coming her as well.
Sara Paris — Google review
I am sure in spring, summer and fall seasons very beautiful. Muddy pathway made it dangerous to hike. Worth to watch the ice blocks moving over the river.
Nilu Aydin (Nila) — Google review
I love this place! Campsites aren’t too expensive and fantastic walking trails. It’s also nice that it’s so close to downtown Weston to grab dinner/drinks if you want. Don’t forget to see the scenic overlook! It’s worth the short drive to the end of the park and is a very short distance from the parking lot
Daniel Cochran — Google review
Very nice park, great views of the Missouri River from the well maintained trails. Dog 🐕 friendly, and there is a dog park. RV camping with electrical hookups in the park. Playground with toys for the kids. Also very close to Weston township great place to eat and shop in their historic downtown. I highly recommend it 👌.
Andrew Hoffman — Google review
The fall colors were beautiful. There are many hiking trails and markers that are interesting, the park itself was clean. A definite place to visit again.
Kimberly Fiedler — Google review
Lovely, popular, well maintained trail system. Paved and dirt options both. Family friendly. Beautiful spot for fall colors. Good range of distances for walking. I brought my adventure cats and was very happy to see that all the dog owners kept their pups on leashes unlike other places with posted leash laws. Will be back for the well reviewed campground. Nice that restrooms and water fountains are provided. Parking does get full on the weekends. One area does and the other dies not allow overflow parking along the road. Appreciated that the state park allowed free admission.
Ashley magruder — Google review
This park is amazing for hiking. Not only does it have something for every level of hiker but it is quiet and peaceful. I'm not sure if we just went on a slow day but for a Saturday you would expect loads of people and chaos. This was not the case. Since we don't live too far from this State park this will become a recurring hiking spot. Looking forward to what Autumn brings.
Mike C (Killswitch Mickey) — Google review
I stopped in the park early this morning and temps were in 20s. Nonetheless I enjoyed the view at the overlook and checked out the tobacco curing barn. Also saw a deer cross roadway in front of me and disappear into the woods. Very cool visit, pun intended.
Lee Roberts — Google review
Awesome park tons of great hiking/biking trail and great spot for camping
Stephen Urwin — Google review
The campsites were a decently distance from each other. So much trees and brush between most sites. We couldn't see our neighbors on either side. We were in site 4, shade most of the day, some sun in the afternoon. Bathrooms were very clean. Didn't realize we needed to fill our water tank, none of the sites had a water hydrant. Drinking Water was available at the dump station. Enjoyed the walking trails in the state park, that went by the MO river.
Rachael Esau — Google review
Cool park. Has a neat barn about midway in the park that we used for pictures. Gives an overview of the history of tobacco farming in the area.
N C — Google review
Nicest state park in NW MO by far. Nice overlooks of and trails to the Missouri River. Fun place to hike.
FFKDTP1 — Google review
Glad to have used All Trails to find the parking lot closer to the overlook. On 10/17/23 the upper canopy of the West Ridge Trail, while following the river has tons of color. The interior part of the loop coming back on the Harpst Trail was much more green. First time here, but surely not our last!
C Chang — Google review
Easy hike trail if you’re an avid hiker. And there’s no fee for entering the state park! There are options for various trails to get some longer distance in your workout, multiple options such as 1mile loop or 5 miler when connecting trails. There was a family walking it with their little girl and they didn’t seem to have any issues in their sandals. Also the scenic overlook is beautiful. The views are great during end of summer early fall.
Christina Sutton — Google review
I really love this place - great trails and views of the Missouri River, close proximity to Weston, camping options, etc. I've been in all seasons and it always has something to offer. If you're into birding, there are a plethora of bird species to discover. The campgrounds are nice and I really enjoyed my experience camping there recently (site 26).
Vanessa Harper (ziggyjava) — Google review
Very nice state park. Lots of hiking trails and the trails are nicely marked. The campground / campsites are spread out and nestled in the trees.
Jason Clements — Google review
Beautiful park with nice trails. The ridge trail has some spectacular views, especially in autumn. Other amenities include pit toilets at the trail heads, a playground, dog park area, a historic tobacco barn, picnic shelters, and a paved trail loop. You can also walk or bike into Weston from the park.
Roxanne Duke — Google review
We took the paved trail with a two year old on his bike and a baby in a stroller with jogging trail tires. It is paved but it has rocks, sticks cracks roots so I am not sure that little plastic wheels would do well. It is mostly shaded which was sooo nice. It is a good bit of up and down and has some spots my bike kid walked up or down rather then using the bike because it was very steep. We needed a good bit of water and snack breaks but we all finished. (He does ride daily so although he was exhausted by the end he could make it so if your child doesn’t maybe an extra stroller would be good.) it was a beautiful trail and we look forward to doing it again!

Barbecue restaurant
Tin Kitchen Southern Smokehouse, located at 509 Main, is a popular and laid-back eatery renowned for its barbecue. It is an ideal place to indulge in a satisfying meal. Whether stumbling upon it while exploring the countryside or seeking out a delicious barbecue experience, Tin Kitchen does not disappoint. Their brisket sandwich is particularly exceptional, with tender and flavorful meat that leaves a lasting impression. In addition to their mouthwatering pulled pork, generous portions of delectable fries accompany each dish.
This is what BBQ should taste like! We were seated right away. The menu had great options, and the food came fast. It was hot, it was flavorful, and they served REAL homemade French fries. This was my first time in Weston, and my first time here and I enjoyed both! Highly recommend 👍
Ramon Maisonet — Google review
What a great place to stop and have a meal. Was out wondering the country side and happened upon the Tin Kitchen. The brisket is tender and very flavorful as well as the pulled pork. Plates are stacked high with some great fries too. So many fires. Great selection of beer Or other non alcohol drinks. Service was fast and the staff was very friendly. The pimento cheese appetizer was delicious. So if you’re ever in the area, stop in and have a really good barbecue meal.
l b — Google review
Brisket is delicious. It is moist and years apart with a fork! Ribs are meaty and peppery. A taste I haven’t had before. Neither meat NEEDS sauce but are elevated with any of the three “TKs” on the table! I especially like the pepper variant as I think it best balanced against the vinegar! Great home town feel. Would, without a doubt, frequent this place if I was a local!
John Folger — Google review
I normally get the brisket/pulled pork combo... but today, I got a different sandwich! Our waitress recommended the FGT Burger ( Fried Green Tomato) as it is very popular! I got it....& it was great! Both patties were cooked very well. The bread fresh & the toppings delicious! The fried green tomato was on top...& at points you could barely taste it. I'll definitely be purchasing a burger from here again! The staff was great as always & it was very busy!

We stopped in for lunch while browsing the shops in Weston and were not disappointed! The smothered fries were delicious! The pulled pork is very tender and nicely seasoned. I would definitely recommend, though they do get really busy so keep in mind you may have a little bit of a wait to be seated!
Tabetha North — Google review
Tin Kitchen was amazing! I ordered the Green Chili Cheeseburger and It was the best cheeseburger I've ever had. My son ordered the pulled pork sandwich with a side of mac-n-cheese. He said the mac-n-cheese was so good he could just eat a bowl of that. The staff was super friendly with a typical country charm calling everyone honey. The atmosphere was perfectly inviting. I will definitely be returning to the Tin Kitchen!
Randy Ramos — Google review
Let’s start with this being such a cute little town and great place to walk around, have some lunch. I stopped at Tin Kitchen, ordered Pigs in a Blanket and really enjoyed the Brisket plate, baked beans, and the Mac cheese. The brisket was juice & delicious! Finished it all off with a root beer. This is a must stop in Weston.
Hugo O — Google review
Friends recommended The Tin Kitchen since we don’t live here. It was a 5/5 experience! I ordered the Carolina Burger (pulled pork with Cole slaw on top) and a side of fries. My husband got a full rack of ribs, with Mac n cheese and broccoli salad. Everything we tasted was delicious! Thank you, Monica, for the great service and recommendations for our first time here! After dinner, we shared the chocolate pecan pie! Delightful and worth the calories! 😊

With so many small places in Weston from which to choose, you could do a lot worse than here. The servers were great and the aesthetic of the place was also excellent. We didn’t wait long for our meals and the locally brewed beer was also delicious. Be warned for those who don’t care for smokey flavors—the pulled pork BBQ has it in droves. The menu doesn’t specify that it has so much smoke to it so just a heads up. For many, this is a plus. The rum and coke was surprisingly strong as most places cheap out on the booze. Again, way worse places! Overall, it was a good visit with good food. Most of the dishes weren’t terribly exciting but they were fresh and had solid quality. This is a place to go for BBQ specifically so just don’t expect some new artisanal twist on a cheeseburger. Definitely worth the trip.
Jeffrey Barker — Google review
Awesome decor. Ordered the 2 meat plate which was excellent. Fries were delicious. Ribs were good. The wedge salad was tasty. The service was fast and efficient.
James Quinn — Google review
This is a great little place. The barbecue was excellent and they have a nice selection of drinks. Service was decent and the atmosphere is really neat. I would definitely visit here again.

We were staying in Leavenworth for an Army class and several folks recommended this place. It was so close, the downtown is really cool and historical. We got there early and sat quickly. The rack of ribs was perfectly cooked! I liked the coleslaw because it was more vinegar than mayo. The coconut cream pie takes the cake though! The crust was made of coconut and the pie was delicious!
Kate Carter — Google review
I typically get the salmon or ribs, and that green chili cheeseburger is also amazing. But today I finally got to try the shrimp po boy. Love Tin Kitchen, best BBQ in the KC metro area.
Jeremy McNew — Google review
I cannot say enough great things about the experience this restaurant gave our family and the outstanding service we received! We came in on Mother’s Day, which I know is a nightmare in the food service industry. There was a short wait but they were super cool about taking our names and we got in sooner than expected. I stayed to wait while my family visited, and watching this staff cooperate and work together blew my mind with what an exceptional job they did handling the rush! Our waitress did wonderful taking care of us during our visit. The bbq was probably some of the best, most tender I’ve had anywhere. I got the broccoli salad and coleslaw as sides, and both were delicious. The broccoli salad was similar to others I’ve had or made before, but their coleslaw was unique and my new quest is going to be learning to recreate it at home! Others tried the fries, baked beans, and macaroni and cheese and everyone enjoyed them. Thank you all the staff for taking such great care of us and cooking up such good meals. I look forward to coming back.

Distillery
Food & Drink
Holladay Distillery, founded in 1856, offers a fascinating journey into the history of American distilling. Located in Weston, Missouri on land charted by Lewis and Clark, the distillery's limestone springs are perfect for bourbon production. As the oldest continuously operating distillery in the country, Holladay Distillery provides tours of its historic buildings and a tasting room for visitors to experience its rich heritage firsthand.
4/29/2023 Enjoyed perfect weather for our distillery visit. Purchased both a bottle of bourbon & gin. Even though there were many people at the distillery it was easy to find a relaxing space due to the multiple seating areas provided- inside, deck or outside amongst the shade trees. Don't forget to pop into the gift store. Fantastic bourbon, cheers!
Through the Looking Glass — Google review
This is a beautiful distillery, and the liquor was very good. I enjoyed the drinks I got at the bar. I had a whiskey sour and an old fashioned. The staff were all lovely, and very polite. The Irish cream is the best I've ever had. The tour was lovely, however I had a difficult time hearing the tour guide. I liked the tour for the lovely views, but honestly I only caught about half of what she said. I would recommend this distillery. My friend and I had a great time overall.
Melissa Bruner — Google review
We traveled from North Carolina to Weston, MO, to visit the Holladay Distillery this past weekend - definitely worth the trip, and we look forward to returning! We attended the "Masters of Whiskey & The Wild West" event at Holladay Distillery on Friday night, and then did the distillery tour on Saturday with our kids. Both events were fun, well organized, informative, and in a beautiful setting in Weston, MO. Follow the Holladay Distillery on facebook and Instagram for upcoming special events, and listen to the "Holladay Happy Hour" podcast (always fun to hear the latest from the distillery, and make sure you listen to the episode about Five Farms Irish Cream - entertaining & will make you want to find some Five Farms Irish Cream asap!). When you visit the distillery, plan to arrive early (or stay after the tour) & enjoy a drink, play lawn games, and check out the views. We highly recommend visiting Holladay Distillery and the town of Weston - lots to see & do in the area. We stayed at the Hatchery House in Weston - just 5 minutes away by car. Fabulous bed & breakfast, and was once the home of Ben Holladay, the "Stagecoach King"!
Ben & Christina Holladay — Google review
I go to a lot of distilleries. On a business trip. Tasted some Holladay recently and enjoyed it so came here to see what I might pick up. I didn't enjoy that I drove 40 miles to be told the tasting experience is down town. Have to buy full shots to try anything. I picked a couple but was disappointed. Not worth the trip. Offered tasting options on things not available to buy. Nope.
L Klutzke — Google review
We visited KC on a trip from the UK whilst visiting friends. One thing planned was a trip out to the Bourbon Distillery for a tour. Honestly, I went in dreading as I don't drink alcohol the majority of the time, not a fan of whiskey either....but I came away loving the experience! Our tour guide knew so much, was informative and went at a pace that wasn't rushed, but also not standing around the same place for ages. There's a bar and gift shop on site with a lovely lounge area whilst you wait for your tour to start. We also loved the old truck parked up outside which provided plenty of photo opportunities! I also very much enjoyed their Irish Cream Liquor!
Jake Phillips — Google review
Awesome set up, great guest areas and bar. The Tour was fun and you learn a lot about the process and the history of the area! Got a free drink, to sample the product along the way and 3 free shots. If you want more shots 25 cents each.

Took part in the bourbon tasting and brunch. Solid day as we spent hours here. Lots of drink choices, brunch was delicious and mixologists from all over KC for us to sample their signature bourbon mixes using Holladay bourbon (naturally). I hope this becomes an annual tradition - haven’t been this relaxed and enjoyed such a time in quite a few years.

Pretty cool distillery in a charming small town. No chains and no major brands to see! Great tour and a surprising amount to see and earn for a smaller place. Stick around the end of the tour and befriend the guide and you might get a few extra samples. 😀

Holladay Distillery is a lovely gem out in Weston. I’ve been on their tour multiple times and brought locals and visitors. The tour is historical and engaging. If you go during the week, it’s less crowded and you can hand select which spirits you want to try. Anything additional is 25 cents a shot. On the weekends they have popcorn, hotdogs and cotton candy for the larger crowds. When you tour on the weekend, they hand select which three spirits you will be trying. I genuinely enjoy all of their products. I recommend you try the Irish cream and for those who like their drinks strong, try their triple crown.

Green Dirt Farm Creamery is a small farm nestled in the bluffs of Weston, dedicated to producing top-quality grass-fed lamb and Farmstead sheep's milk cheeses from its own pastured ewes. The creamery offers group tours by advance reservation only. Located just north of downtown Weston, it shares space with TerraVox Vineyards for a tasting room featuring TerraVox wines. Visitors can enjoy meat and cheese boards, with special accommodations for allergies, and excellent service at the outdoor picnic area.
I’ve been wanting to come to Green Dirt for a while. We had friends in town and thought we’d stop by for ice cream. Instead the meat and cheese boards sounded great and tasted the same. One in our party was allergic to lamb and they took extra precautions to make sure the meat was separate from the cheeses. The service was very good. The outdoor picnic area is a perfect place to eat snd drink. I’ll have to come back another time for ice cream.

First time there & enjoyed visit very much. Wasn't right time for a tour so will plan to come back. The sandwiches, cheeses & ice cream were delicious. It was not busy so I could tell you might need patience if busy, short staffed like many places. But they were very friendly & answered many questions about their business.
Cheryl S — Google review
I was so distracted by the food that I didn’t even take any pictures of the rest of the place! First off—why the loss of a star? $8 for a beer was about it. Prices aren’t listed (at least as of my visit) and I can see why. That hurt. I’ve been to Irish pubs that charge less. If you don’t enjoy an occasional adult beverage, then ignore that and consider this a five star review. The crew working was excellent and the food was likewise fantastic. Your kiddos might not be thrilled with cheese on their PB&J so be warned. It was excellent but it’s definitely not what kids are expecting. Every plate looked like a work of art. They really seemed to enjoy what they do and the food spoke for itself. Visiting, passing through, or a local—you should go. The cheeses pair so well with everything and the sandwiches are better than going to just another burger place. They have none here so don’t expect an artistic twist on your favorite burger. We’ll visit again. It’s too tasty not to.

Great local farm fresh goods, such as sheep and goat cheese. Fresh lamb and summer sausages. They also have food and wine.

We had a great afternoon at the shop and also a tour of the farm and creamery. The sheep cheeses here are outstanding and they have at least 8 different varieties to try and buy. The shop also serves up sandwiches, wine and beer. The staff is super knowledgeable and will help guide you through the menu/options. Also try and book a tour of the farm and creamery about 4 miles away. Really love this place!

Wow for this place to be located in a small town is amazing. They have great food and treats for everyone. They also have it all priced perfectly on the average scale. The cheese is the best and then the ice cream. The atmosphere is peaceful, calm and inviting. I would highly recommend visiting this place.

Make sure to read the menu of the event you want to attend. We didn't and had courses of Lamb. Not my choice but people who like Lamb said it was delicious. The appetizer tray before the dinner was amazing. Wonderful cheeses. I tried to find the cheeses in our grocery store but no luck.

Absolutely amazing place! It was our first time visiting and we enjoyed the Reuben and Grilled Cheese sandwich outside on the picnic benches. Such a peaceful place! When the storm hit we moved into the underground pub. What an amazing piece of history 60 ft below the ground. The bartenders in the first level of the underground portion of the bar exceptional knowledgeable and hospitable

Was touring around this wonderful little town of Weston and found this pub. Live music, wide selection of beer, outdoor seating and friendly staff. Would love to have stayed longer but had a drive ahead of us. Will be back to enjoy what they have to offer this summer. Thanks

Super unique place to eat! You walk in and see everyone reading newspapers and it completely throws you off guard….it’s their menu! The food is Absolutley phenomenal! We ordered the sausage sampler, fried shrimp, Irish egg rolls and the pretzel! The Staff was very friendly. The cave bar is just….whoaaaa. This is One of our favorite spots to go

Step back into time and almost 60 feet underground into O'Malley's Irish Pub in Weston, Missouri! Sip on an adult beverage & listen to live music in a cellar built back in the 19th century. This restaurant and pub opened for business in 1842 and didn't let prohibition stop them from opening back up afterwards. Along with a unique history, the food & the drinks are spectacular! You must order the bangers & mash entrée. We also started with the cheese soup, mozzarella cheese sticks, and the flight of Weston liquors. Add this unique spot to your Kansas City bucket list today!

Got into KC for my first visit and this is the first place we came to the next day. All I can say is....COOL! This was one of the most unique bars I've ever been to. Beer was delish as well. The downstairs was closed but the super awesome bartender on Sunday took a small group for a short tour. Thank you so much to her! (Give her a raise)!. Can't wait to check it out this summer. Thanks!

This is such a unique and extraordinary venue. The beers are very good, but the atmosphere is the real draw. Where else can you enjoy a pint 60 feet underground in a space with so many stories to tell in it's nearly 200-year-old history?

We would like to start our review off with a note for our readers: NARD Reviews prides ourself on honest reporting of establishments that we visit. With that said, there may be some jarring details that may turn some readers away. Our visit to O’Malleys started off with our Uber driver going the wrong way down a one way, and dropping us at the location. Once inside, we paid a small cover and were given an overview of the layout by a friendly man at the door. As soon as we paid, a woman approached us in a huff and threatened to “derby our ass” because the Uber driver had cut her off earlier. We went down to the lower bar area, which had a great atmosphere with live music and a bar with many great beverage options. We ordered the Irish egg rolls and fried pickles, which were delicious. Although we throughly enjoyed our food that night, it only got worse from there. Our party went upstairs to sample some of the local beverages where we were greeted by rather rude staff who sold us non-alcoholic beer without disclaiming it contained no alcohol. We ended up having to buy another round so the boys could keep their buzz going. After obtaining our ice cold brews, we took a seat on the patio. This is when the aforementioned woman came back to our table to continue threatening us. She began explaining how she owned multiple firearms and the townsfolk could quote “throw us in the nearby Missouri River and nobody would look for us.” She then went on and told a story about her son’s military experience. The story caught us by surprise because the woman used a racial slur to describe someone who destroyed her son in hand to hand combat. The only reason this obviously blackout drunk woman wasn’t kicked out was because her kids were all employees. We couldn’t ask the staff for help because they were her kids, and she was even helping out and drinking behind the bar. While referring to the local police department, she said she “had those boys trained”, but she was still trying to “break in the new chief.” As this woman told the story with such casual racism, it was hard not to notice how she did not even look at our two non-white members , even when they were addressing her. It truly is a shame that our experience at such a unique and charming establishment was soured by a patron who not only threatened our lives, but made us feel unwelcome and in desperate need of finding a way home. The one star was earned by the kind, welcoming downstairs staff and the undeniably cool interior. Here is a positive note to end on: There were no Ubers available in the area, and we ended up paying $55 for a Lyft out. Huge shoutout to Eric, our driver, who drove 30 minutes from KC to pick us up and make sure we got home safe! We can’t guarantee you will experience this same casual racism and hostility, but we felt it necessary to leave this review.

Coolest Irish Pub in the Country! Built 75’ down into a mine/cave where they used to store kegs of beer in the old brewery. We didn’t see the live music in the lower area, but would go back for music and Scotch Eggs! This is a must see!

Great atmosphere for drinks, food, and music. There is outdoor seating in the beer garden during nice days or go underground for a great atmosphere. You can order food down in the pub using the QR code on the table. The food is very good and provides a wide selection of options if you just want an appetizer or if you are looking for a full entree.

Really cool underground pub! All the bartenders/service staff were friendly and gave great recommendations. I think they have live music on weekend nights. We went on a snowy, sub-zero, Saturday afternoon and still had a wonderful time. I think there are tours for the brewery available as well. Dine at the American Bowman before heading into the cave!

What an unexpected and cool experience! This place is underground and reminds me of a WWII era bunker! Had one beer an ate the beef stout with mashed potatoes. The real attraction was the atmosphere. The band starts later in the afternoon. Sorry to miss it. Kudos to this Irish pub!

Good food, but the highlight is the pub downstairs. The Irish eggs were good. The sandwich was nice. The corn beef egg rolls were good but didn't have potatoes. They have a shop to buy drinks to take home. The pub downstairs had live music and neat history.

This place is SO CUTE! Love the aesthetic. The menus are newspapers!! They had different articles in there too it is adorable! We sat outside with our dog. 🐶Love that it’s dog friendly. The outside is large and they decor is so cute. Food was 👍 great. The cheese curds are so good! Fish and chips were great too. The Cajun chicken pasta was good but pretty Americanized lol. Overall really enjoyed this place in this cute little town.

Such a cool brew pub in Weston!! Delicious good, yummy beer &; fun atmosphere!! My mom had the shepherds pie and we all tried it and thought it was the best we've ever had!! We also shared an enormous and so delicious soft pretzel with cheese sauce! And shared a Philly cheese steak sandwich which was so nicely done as well. We shared a flight and enjoyed tasting each of their brews. Great place!! I would highly recommend

I typically get the salmon or ribs, and that green chili cheeseburger is also amazing. But today I finally got to try the shrimp po boy. Love Tin Kitchen, best BBQ in the KC metro area.

American restaurant
Avalon Cafe is a charming restaurant located in an 1847 historic house in downtown Weston. The eatery offers gourmet American meals and a popular Sunday brunch, with outdoor seating available. Visitors praise the romantic atmosphere and excellent service, although some have noted issues with the tap water. Despite being on the pricier side, there are also affordable options for more traditional "bar food." Overall, it's recommended as a must-visit dining spot when exploring Weston.
This place was really cool! The old house atmosphere is a unique take on an elegant restaurant. My wife has been wanting to try Ostrich for years. This is one of the only restaurants in the metro that serves it. It was extremely good! We will be back a few times a year.

Very diversified menu. They had starters, various sandwiches, a few seafood items, pizza, and hamburgers. Apricot iced tea which was amazing. Atmosphere was perfect. Older home converted into a cafe. They do have a tiny bar inside and seating outside on a covered deck. The food was very fresh. The tomatoes are farm fresh. Had the Apple tort for dessert which was wonderful. We will definitely eat here again anytime we're in Weston. The chicken sandwich was amazing. Lots of thought love and care put into this food.

My husband and I wanted to do something different so we drove to Weston in search of Sunday lunch. Wow! We loved the Avalon Cafe. The food was delicious and fresh. The staff was friendly and helpful. And the ambience was quaint and cozy. What a find! It was reasonably priced too.

The food was above average, but our waitress was visibly irritated from the onset. Whether it was at our large group or something else, I have no idea. Our first time here was better. Sides could use an increase in portion size, at least for the potatoes. We'll likely come back again. I'll update my review when we do.

We stopped here on a Thursday evening for dinner. The atmosphere was quaint and classy and we were treated well by the staff. This was our first visit here and another customer we met coming in told us to try the flan or the bread pudding because they were both amazing. The service was fast. We had our drinks, salad and warm bread with whipped butter right away. I ordered the Chef's daily feature which was a cajun seasoned grouper with house vegetables and potatoes. I know Missouri is not exactly where you may expect to have fresh grouper on the menu, but my worries melted away after my first delicious fork full of the tender, moist and perfectly prepared fish! The cinnamon bread pudding was ridiculously delicious. I am glad they served it with a big spoon so I could make sure none of the rich, sweet and warm goodness couldn't escape. We will be back!

We had high hopes. Arrived right as they opened, and though we didn't have a reservation were seated promptly on the outside deck. Four separate tables came in around the same time, were seated, got drink orders, appetizers and even entrees. Nobody seemed to notice us even though we were in plain sight w the rest of the people being served food and drinks. One table had finished their meal completely even. We called the restaurant's phone # to see if we'd been forgotten. After about a half hour a server who was refilling waters came by and we asked if we'd been forgotten about. A waitress arrived shortly thereafter. No apologies, "oh sorry for the wait," just took our order. We had crabcakes and the wild boar entree. If the food would've been over the top amazing it would've made the wait and experience worth it. But it was what other reviews have said, wasn't worth what we paid. Unfortunate, as we really were looking forward to dinner there.

For the prices, we had high expectations. The service was GREAT. But they sat 3 of us at a table obviously meant for 2. We were on top of each other...very glad our 4th person couldn't make it. The food was good, not great, but with generous servings. I ordered an Apple Torte which was delicious, but unfortunately, the "fluffy" crust was like rubber. I couldn't even cut into it, and chewing it was rough. And it was SO WARM in there!

4/30/23 1pm Sunday reservation on a beautiful spring day. Loved the food, loved the atmosphere, superb service and drinks. Really Top Shelf all the way around. Make this a must dine when visiting lovely Weston... so happy I did. They closed at 2pm so I luckily was able to take pictures after the other diners left as to not interpret their meal.

The food was excellent! The staff were super nice. The only downside was the tap water. It was horrendous. It's a small town, so perhaps having filtered water would help. The only other option is choosing a different beverage or paying for bottled water. The waitress was very accommodating about this. Very romantic atmosphere for couples, and even gathering with others. I'd certainly go back. They are very expensive but they also have affordable options for more usual l traditional "bar food."

A Weston gem!! Our first visit to Avalon and certainly not our last! The prices are so reasonable and the food was exceptional! I had the lunch salmon (generous portion and perfectly cooked) that included par boiled/fried potatoes with a cream sauce, wilted spinach, steamed broccoli and julienne candied carrots. My husband had the Cajun Chicken sandwich and loved it. The menu had so many awesome selections to choose from.
Beth Wilks — Google review
We arrived at 11am as they were opening, and seated in a dim corner of the room which was lit only by a central chandelier. I’m not sure why we were given that table, but I should have asked for one of the more desirable at the electric fireplace or one of the three windows. It was dim enough that I took it upon myself to open all the blinds. The waitress was efficient and knowledgeable. I ordered a bowl of the gumbo and my friend ordered the Cajun chicken sandwich, subbing out vegetables for the standard choices of potatoes or pasta salad, for an additional $1. When it arrived she was pleased to see that there was also a generous fresh fruit garnish. She really liked the chicken and marveled at its moistness. She totally cleaned her plate of everything, except the bun, due to diet constraints. My gumbo was good, with more than adequate portions of protein. The bread/butter plate was delicious! One previous reviewer commented on the taste of the water but we both thought it was perfectly palatable, and had several refills. As I was leaving I saw another woman turning on her phone flashlight to read her menu. The food was good, just increase the wattage.

The Vineyard's Restaurant is a charming establishment housed in an elegant antebellum home, offering refined American dishes and local wines. The limited seating inside the cozy house creates an intimate dining experience, so making a reservation is recommended. The restaurant has received high praise for its delicious food, attentive service, and friendly staff. Guests have raved about the farm-fresh ingredients used in their dishes and the fantastic wine selection.
It had been 18 years since we had been able to go to our favorite restaurant. We had moved away. It was like stepping back in time. Nothing had changed except us and the owner. Nothing was left without attention. Years ago this restaurant was highly praised in Zaggat's. It still should be. Food was presented well. Service was prompt, personal and attentive. All the food was seasoned and cooked to perfection. This is a restaurant you simply shouldn't miss.

The Vineyard is phenomenal! Their food and drinks are delicious and their staff is friendly and helpful too! The restaurant is clean and is inside a little house so they have limited seating. They are only open a few days a week so it’s best to make a reservation if you want to make sure you’ll be able to get in! I’ve tried their brunch and their candlelit dinner and they were both perfect but be prepared to spend a good amount of money (it’s totally worth it). My fiancé and I love this place!

Seldom give out five stars but when I do, it's for a well-deserved establishment. That's the essence of Pastime's Bar & Grill, situated in a charming small town. The ambiance is delightful and the cuisine is exceptional. Unlike typical chain restaurants, if there's an error in your order, they won't replace the entire plate; instead, their attentive waitstaff promptly rectify the situation and bring you what you requested.
I rarely give out five stars but when I do it’s for a spot well deserved. kind of the point behind it but whatever lol. Atmosphere is great and food is amazing. Sort of what you get when going to small towns. We ordered onion rings instead of fries for one of our orders. What would typically happen at your chain restaurants is they would fix it by taking the entire plate and replacing it. This waiter identified the problem, apologized, and brought out onion rings. A small place but so welcoming and again, food is amazing. Worth it for anyone traveling through (sort of??) or looking for Polish Pottery.

Friendly staff, excellent food! I got the big mouth BLT, which had breaded and deep fried bacon on it. Fantastic!
Heather Brown — Google review
So this place was delicious and some of the best food. I'd strongly recommend (but your arteries might not agree) the appetizer breaded bacon strips. They were amazingly delicious and unhealthy lol. The reason why it got 3 stars was some of the staff wasn't super friendly and seemed annoyed when we'd ask a question or need something. It kinda ruined the overall experience.
Anthony Haug — Google review
It was our third time there. And, of course, we’ll be back. Great Bloody Mary’s. The mushrooms are the main reason we were back. And once again, they were splendiferous!!!!! This time my wife and I split the Philly sandwich with their seasoned fries. Excellent as expected. But, the bacon cheeseburger is hard to beat. However, the B L T with batter dipped deep fried bacon is definitely on our next to eat list. Hint: Get there when they open at 11:00. No waiting. The place is small and popular. Later in the afternoon when the crowd stars pouring in you may have a short wait. It’ll be worth it.
