Distillery
Food & Drink
Established since 1812, a whiskey producer operates at a charming building complex and offers tours and tastings. Located in Versailles, it is only a 30-minute drive away from the place where the Castle & Key Distillery sits. The latter has been generating national attention recently as it was built on the former headquarters of Old Taylor Distillery constructed in 1887 but remained unused for four decades. If you haven't heard of Castle & Key yet, you will soon enough.
The grounds of distillery and the interior spaces are beautiful. If you plan to go to the cocktail bar, go before going to the gift shop. We went in the wrong order and had to make a second gift shop trip after tasting the great beverages. Alcoholic beverages at the cocktail bar come in a free souvenir cup. The "mocktails" were delicious too!!! We took the recipe cards back to the gift shop to purchase the mule mixes and bitters to make them at home. We would visit again to try a tour or tasting.

The tour was very informative and the tour guide was down to earth and very relatable! We were told that it was a 90 minute tour, but even though it went down to 50 minutes, it was still a great tour. We went to the tour and tasting, and the tasting was the best part. Getting to sample the different bourbons, and experiencing all the flavors were something different. Would recommend and would go again and again!
Chris Le — Google review
A very enjoyable bourbon tasting experience. Very nicely organized and professionally held tour and tasting. Details like a cold bottle of water for the tour and a nice chocolate with the tasting are details that an additional positive note to the visit.

We spent a few hours at this beautiful distillery in central KY. For full disclosure Woodford has always been my favorite. We brought along our family and an out of state visitor from New York. The new welcome center is great! Our guide was informative and very pleasing during the tour. The tasting and discussions at the end are worth the trip alone. Our out of state visitor had never been to "horse" country or to an actual distillery and Woodford is perfectly matched for both

We visited the cocktail bar at Woodford Reserve. The bar was very nice. The cocktails are a bit pricey but definitely worth it. They also serve some small bites to eat, we got a cheese platter, which was very good. You can bring children here, it isn’t a 21+ only bar, however, if you don’t have to - I wouldn’t. There was plenty of parking here and the bathrooms were very nice and clean.
Jessica Panicucci — Google review
This location is by far the best of any bourbon distillery! The horse farms along the roads as you travel in on the rolling hills are absolutely stunning! Very tranquil experience that gave you a very peaceful mindset as you toured the campus! A must visit if you are visiting Frankfurt. Next time I visit I will plan to your one of the nearby horse farms that breed some of Kentucky’s most famous race horses.

I just finished a second tour in 6 months. Each time I had Rob as my tour guide and he is EASILY the absolute BEST guide I have ever experienced. Woodford Distillery is beautiful, fun, exceptional and, with Rob, the best tour you can get. If you are lucky enough to visit and get him as your guide, I hope you feel blessed. Such a fantastic experience!
CB Carpenter — Google review
Beautiful setting. Visitor center impressive. Felt a little like herded cattle but our guide was great. Of the tasting experiences we've had at distilleries, this was the best one: 5 bourbon sampled with a very good explanation guiding guests through the tasting. Yes, bought a bottle and some bourbon balls!
Chris Butterworth — Google review
We stopped by the Woodford cocktail lounge, and the gift shop. It was such a beautiful and peaceful space! The cocktail lounge was fantastic! You walk into the building and order your drinks or tastings. You get a metal key card to give to the bartenders outside. The cocktails are served in awesome souvenir glasses that you can take home as well! The cocktails were absolutely delicious! The gift shop had a great selection of merchandise and bottles for purchase. Highly recommend stopping at Woodford!
Ariel Bonk — Google review
We participated in the food pairing and tasting. The tasting itself was fun and educational but the “food” provided was simple grocery store snacks- you get one tiny helping of each - nothing fancy. They also offered a masters collection option during the tasting that is sold out and not able to be purchased- so why offer it. The experience was good for only $25 per person. Their distillery was set up really nice and the bar across the street had some rare items that can be purchased as a pour but not an entire bottle ( double double) $65 per pour.
Shawna Marie — Google review
We had such a great time. Our tour coincided with the solar eclipse which made for a memorable experience. Our guide, Tony was personable and knowledgeable - fun too! The grounds were exquisite and we learned so much. Of course the tasting was a great way to end the tour.

Woodford Reserve Distillery in Versailles, KY is only a short drive East of Louisville; and ABSOLUTELY WORTH IT! The tour last slightly over an hour, and had us hanging on every word! The facility is a national historic landmark; the structures, equipment, & process are absolutely impressive. To round off the tour, you not only enjoy a Straight Bourbon tasting, but also a crash course to becoming a sommelier!
Austin Budreau — Google review
Decided to go and visit Woodford Reserve Distillery while we were in town visiting a friend. Overall, i thought this place looked very modern and interior feel looked nice with a glass display of their bottle as decoration. Right across from their gift shop building, they also had a separate building specifically for cocktail bar so we decided to go and check it out. I tried their drink called "Spire" which was very tasty and didn't have an overwhelming amount of bourbon. With every cocktail purchase, you also get a free chilling copper cup to take home as well, which is very nice (u can also buy them at the gift shop)! Definitely check em out if you're in town!
Hiromi Tateishi — Google review
Was not able to do a tour here but there are plenty of pics of people who did. We stopped by to check out what we could and sample some of their cocktails. Very nice grounds They are on beautiful In fact. The drinking area is separate from the main facility, across the road to be exact. Our drinks came in copper cups which were nice we got to keep them great for doing mules in. Very clean place nice surroundings definitely recommend checking it out and if you can get a tour I'm sure that's nice also.

I took the tour and tasting with my service animal, and our tour guide was awesome. I learned a lot and took some amazing photos. The shots you get at the end were a cool experience. You're able to taste all the different types. The prices in the gift shop for whiskey were so cheap. Being able to walk the grounds and see all the old buildings was a cool experience. The way you come in by the horse farms is a very beautiful drive. They have an awesome place for you to sit outside and enjoy the beautiful scenery. If you like whiskey, then you should take this tour and won't be let down. I will definitely go back again.
William Adams — Google review
This distillery does an amazing tour. If you have the time, make sure you do the tasting tour. The walk you through the whiskey making process and then allow you to sample several options while giving you some facts about each. Highly recommend this tour.
Katie Steckly — Google review
This was by far the highlight of our visit to Kentucky. We bought tickets in advance for the tour and tasting. The tour was very interesting and easy to do, followed by the tasting that was a lot of fun. There is a cocktail lounge across the road and adjacent to the additional parking lot. It was a beautiful drive and location. Limited cell service on-site.
Pat Lealos — Google review
If you’re going to do one tour and want to see the earliest history of Whiskey/Bourbon in Kentucky this is the tour to go on. The original building where they actually make Woodford Reserve was built in 1838, the two buildings next to it in the late 1800’s. The visitor center is also very nice and has a lot of cool stuff. Didn’t find anything special in their Whiskey/Bourbon offerings available for purchase but very much enjoyed the experience.
Bryan Lilley — Google review
On our Bourbon Trail visit we stopped at Woodford. The environment her felt very upscale. The grounds were beautiful and we really enjoyed sitting outdoors and having a specialty drink in their bar area. The only thing I noticed is the staff wasn’t as friendly here as some of the other distillery’s we visited. Still an overall 5 star experience.
Erik L (Fish Guru) — Google review
One of the most beautiful distilleries around! I was not able to take a tour, but based on the apparent history around you as you walk around, it’s convinced me to want to come back again so that I can learn more about Woodford! It feels like you’re driving around English country roads, everything looks very aged and historic, and the gift shop is stunning. The only downside my husband and I experienced was the feeling that our kids weren’t really welcome. Especially compared to places like Buffalo Traverse, where kids are almost encouraged to learn and experience with their parents, that feeling did not exist at Woodford. HOWEVER, I mention that, and still give this distillery 5 stars because I still thought it was beautiful, and will gladly leave my kids home next time so I can come back and visit and get the full experience of the distillery.
Courtney Posante — Google review
My wife and I had a phenomenal time yesterday at Woodford Reserve. Or experience was highlighted by our tour guide Kathy. Her personality, charm, enthusiasm, and wit was so infectious and welcoming. Visiting the various distilleries give you a greater understanding of the history of bourbon within the walls and stories surrounding each one. Woodford’s historical past blessed with the youth of its bourbon today was an example of what it has to offer.
Mike Glass — Google review
This has to be the most beautiful distillery in operation today. The grounds are stunning and the staff are all so lovely and professional. Our tour guide, Kathy, was extremely knowledgeable and hilarious to boot! We thoroughly enjoyed our experience here and the staff were very kind in accommodating a special request we had. Thank you, Woodford Reserve! We will always remember our day at your distillery and hope to visit again someday.

2nd stop on our bourbon trail trip and it was spectacular!!! Even on a rainy day this places shined bright!! The staff and tour guide were so amazing!! Beyond nice and helpful!! The tasting was so good !!! Don’t skip this place on your trail trip !!! Take the tour. Buy some swag !! Love me some Woodford ! Try the double oak ok fashion!!!! It’s delicious!!!

AMAZING!!! Woodford Reserve is a truly special place nestled in the hills of Kentucky thoroughbred farms. If the aroma of the mash doesn’t peak your senses, the architecture of the original buildings will. The entire team was super hospitable and Ashley was our guide through the experience. She shared her knowledge and passion for the craft, what makes Woodford unique and led us through a great tasting. The copper pot stills are a show stopper and something you don’t see every day.
Dianna Stoffer — Google review
The best tour along the bourbon trail. The tour guide was very knowledgeable. We got to witness the barrels rolling out of the fill room and down the track. The copper pot stills are impressive. Will be back.
Jeffrey Hunnius — Google review
We toured 5 distilleries in 4 days from Lexington to Louisville. Woodford was, by far, the most beautiful. The tour is fun and informative and the tasting was great. Our guide Beth was a gem. We were staying near Bardstown — it was well worth the drive.
Paul Harris — Google review
I highly recommend if you're going to do this tour and tasting to make it your last stop. We really enjoyed every tour and tasting we did but Woodford Reserve was the classiest place. They really put a lot of effort into elevating to a higher level. I did think the old Forester tour was better but this was the best tasting out of everyone we did. The small bites they give you is each bourbon and the educational and informative information during the tasting was top notch.

Hidden Gem Near Frontier University! While waiting for my wife's orientation at Frontier University, I stumbled upon this gem through a quick Google search. Many bourbon places were closed, but luckily, this winery was open until 7 p.m. - just an 11-minute drive from the university. I was immediately impressed by the approach, decorations, and ambiance of the place. However, what truly stole the show were the wines. One standout was a red aged in oak barrels for a year, delivering a delightful flavor profile. After sampling eight different wines, I couldn't resist getting a glass of that one before heading back to pick up my wife. The staff, especially Lucy, made the experience even better. Her warmth and charm kept me comfortable and entertained throughout. Overall, it was a wonderful experience and definitely worth a visit. Can't recommend it enough!

It was amazing. It was live music that was wonderful. Also today was a special event being the holiday season, and the local vendors came out. I got a bottle of the Rose' all day wine as well as bought some beautiful jewelry from Solar Simulation that was handmade. By Angel Allen. It was fantastic.

Nice place, nice people. Good wine for a small rural vineyard. Has vineyards, blackberry bushes, a walnut grove and large tobacco patch. Nice outdoor deck. Visitors can hike all around it, kids can be entertained.

First time coming here after driving by it a hundred times. Saw an event for Sangria Sunday featuring Trippin Roots and decided to make a date of it. So glad we did! I loved the Paw Paw wine and sangria. My husband prefers dry wine and he enjoyed what he tried as well. The charcuterie was pretty good, and there was a food truck outside, called Darlin Jeans, with awesome monte cristos. The grounds were beautiful and we enjoyed walking around. We will definitely be back!

Went to Adventure Theater's play at Wildside. Had a wonderful time. The play was entertaining and the actors were great! Wildside winery is in a beautiful location and the staff were friendly and the wine was good. I hope to attend some other events at this location.

The winery is beautiful and the tasting room inviting and comfortable. Staff is amazing at pairing you with wines you will love. Try their tasting flights of 4 or 8 and ask about combinations. They hit the nail on the head when recommending wines for my palate and I ended up taking several bottles home and am already planning a return trip. Sangria Sundays are fun and they invite an amazing food truck, Go Go Burger. You cannot go wrong in attending any event here as they are well run, well staffed and super fun! Top quality establishment and service. By far my favorite winery in the area.

The wines were delicious, and they have a great variety. Some unique Kentucky wines like paw paw that we've never seen or tried elsewhere. Loved it!

Had a great evening for a Friday night date night. The fruit wines were fabulous. Grounds were beautiful. Staff were very friendly, as were the house pets. Highly recommend stopping in for a tasting and bringing home a few bottles.

When you arrive ask for Debbie! She will make sure you have the most enjoyable time! Last week I bought the Niagra (spelling) bottle, it was a great sweet- crips wine! Make sue you take a tour on the back side of the winery!

What a great winery!! Love the staff and the general friendliness. Brought my not so well behaved dog inside and everything loved him.

Sights & Landmarks
Eckert's Orchard is a beautiful apple orchard and store that features many activities for the family during the fall season. The orchard also has a classroom on site that can be rented out for class trips.
WOW! A very beautiful apple orchard and store! During the fall this turns into a family farm, with a petting zoo, hay ride, giant slide, and a variety of fun for the kiddos! There also is a variety of food to enjoy such as, fried apple pies, pumpkin donuts, and apple cider! If you haven't been you must see, the beauty of the place will amaze you!!! Oh, there is a classroom on site for class trips, must book in advance!!! Enjoy
Joseph Mattingly — Google review
This orchard is so fun! My kids love the play area, the huge slides, climbing the hay bales, and the corn maze. We like riding on the trucks out to pick pumpkins/apples, but we don’t always do it because they have so much fun at the play place. The concessions are great; we can’t resist the kettle corn, and I love the little shop. But be bought delicious jams and local honey there. The bathrooms are always clean and well-stocked. Pretty much everything is clean and well-stocked here. Would definitely recommend a trip to Eckert’s! Try to come during the week if you can, because it gets CROWDED on the weekends!
Mary King — Google review
This place was amazing! The staff was so friendly even carried a huge pumpkin to our truck for us. The pumpkin patch is huge and the apple orchard is amazing as well. So many different activities for kids to do that I didn’t get pictured, we will be back next year!

Best strawberries of the area, it cost me $22 entrance for 4 people and 14 pounds $75 total. Check out coming up the peach season at the end of May.

Oh wow! This place is like walking back in time. They have fresh strawberries and other berries as well as salsas and the like. Wonderful place to stop and do a little shopping.
Arthur Hurlburt — Google review
Very cool place. Went for Applefest. Daughter loved all the activities (corn maze, petting zoo, giant slide, pig races, jump pad), including the apple picking. Took forever to get her away from the playground. Definitely worth the trip from Crittenden.
Sean Knapp — Google review
Love taking the kids here! The orchard has so much to do. Entry is a very fair price. You get access to the corn maze, multiple play and climbing areas, potato sack slides, bikes, animals, pumpkin patches, apples, pig races, and photo areas. You can spend a few hours here easily. We found we could buy things like doughnuts and apple cider in the store for cheaper than the restaurant. The store prices are a bit higher as well, but not so much it s not worth it. They have bakery items, drinks, toys, clothing, jams, and the locally grown fruits or vegetables. The hours are great and they have events for the different holidays.
JR Webber — Google review
Truly love this place. For younger families with younger kids, it is perfect way to get them outdoors and let them run & play on the playground. But it's also very appealing to those who are older that want the experience of picking some of the biggest berries, apples, and corn I've ever seen! We visited during the Blackberry festival weekend and it had live music and plenty to see & do for a few hrs of local fun. I do believe if they would just demo a few things like their ciders and/or Apple cider donuts, they would be out of stock! The donuts are amazing! Just do yourself a favor and get some before you leave! Friendly workers in every area with smiles enjoying what they represent. ❤️
Stacae Caldwell — Google review
Wonderful experience picking strawberries!!!🍓🍓🍓 Can't wait to come back!!! Reasonable prices for everything!
Jules — Google review
Wow so much to do and see! We picked apples and fed the goats. Loved this place! It was our first time visiting this orchard and it won’t be our last. The fall decorations are amazing and it’s a wonderful place to get great Fall pictures.
Amy Myers — Google review
It is a fun place to spend a couple of hours during spring/summer time. We went during strawberry time which was nice. It is fun place for kids as well. In another word it is really kid’s friendly. The shop is close to the farm is very nice. I really enjoyed the good variety of stuff they were providing.
Matin Hemati — Google review
Pricier than other orchards I have been to. Anticipate spending over $70 for a family outing here. Entry to their green space is $12 per person for anyone over two years old. This space offers limited activities like a see-through corn maze (disappointing, especially for early October), a basic slide, a small rope climbing area, and some animals which cost $0.50 cents to feed. There are food trucks and an onsite cafe, both of which come at an additional cost. Around $4 per hotdog. They offer fire pits at night for $25 per spot. They do have large pumpkins! Almost impossible to find smaller ones. You're charged by the pound though for pumpkins and apples you pick. Even tasting ciders in their main store costs $0.25 per sample. The overall impression is that it's more about business than creating cherished family memories. I've lived here for over six years and recall it being different in the past. For a more fulfilling experience, I'd suggest Devines Corn Maze and Pumpkin Patch in Harrodsburg. It's a bit of a drive from Lexington, but it’s worth it. The entrance fee there covers food, a fantastic corn maze, fire pits, pumpkins, animals, jumping areas for kids, playgrounds, and other fun activities. They even have a fun apple cannon!
Joshua Moon — Google review
This place was affordable and fun! The pumpkins were a little more than I anticipated but overall it was a great time. The BEST cider and donuts around!
Morgan Remmele — Google review
This is a great place to visit with the family when there is a harvest. Call ahead to find what is available to pick. We went in early June and picked strawberries, blackberries are next in late June early July. There is a cool slide for the kids. Farm animals to pet and feed. Their strawberry cider is delicious. It was a delightful afternoon with my 8 year old son. The strawberries will cost more than the grocery store, but taste MUCH better!
Robert Davidowski — Google review
This is a great way to spend a fun afternoon and not break the bank, at just $7 per child and kids 2 and under are free. Adults are free as well. They have a nice café and a gift shop that has everything from kids toys to homeade jam! The only thing we'd complain about is the fact that almost none of the tractor pedal cars were operational, which disappointed my kids. We'll definitely return here from now on. This was our 1st visit to Eckert's Orchard.

I wasn't aware that there was a theater in Versailles, but I'm glad I found it. The tickets cost around $25. The play I saw was a hilarious slapstick performance that I thoroughly enjoyed. Although the concession area is small, it's not allowed inside the theater, and the entire venue is well-maintained. It's a wonderful local community theater with a cozy stage and talented performers. The performance was exceptional!
Best theater EVER! Terrific choice of plays & players! Box Office & theater employees are courteous professionals & the theater is SPOTLESS ! I've NEVER had a bad or even unpleasant experience. You have to see it to believe it, so please GO!

If you have not attended a production at the Woodford Theater and you like live entertainment, you have owe it to yourself to attend an upcoming production. The beautiful venue is designed to allow attendees to comfortably enjoy plays regardless of the location of your seat. I am always amazed at the quality of talent of the cast, who are all non professional performers coming from the region around central Kentucky. The productions are planned to provide a variety of plays including musicals, mysteries, comedies and dramas. You owe it to yourself to take advantage of one of the best production companies in central Kentucky.

Attended the Woodford county Fair this year in 2018. We went on a Friday night, it costed 12$ per person for admission which did include all rides as well. They did have less attractions this year than they did last but we still had a good time. For It to be a Friday night there wasn't very many people there, I was surprised at the numbers really. My children played two games each which costed 22$ altogether which I thought was kind of pricey but on a positive note they both won at each game they played!

The Jack Jouett House Historic Site is a charming and quaint home that can be visited free of charge, although donations are suggested. It's worth a visit if you're in the area, as it offers an opportunity to learn about history. The tour lasts around an hour and features furnishings from the era, though none of them are original. The guide is friendly and well-informed about Jack Jouett.
We attended the Revolutionary Kids Day (7/13/19). Many wonderful people came together to share their knowledge of the past with the young minds of today.

My friend and I enjoyed this cute little home. It is free to visit but donations recommended. If your going to be in the area then it's worth a stop. It's always great to learn about history. Entire length of time spent here is about an hour. None of the furnishings are original but from the era. Sam our guide was very sweet and knowledgeable about Jack Jouett. After the tour your free to look around there is a cemetery on site but belong to another family but still very cool to see.

Having had the distinct privilege of touring the Jack Jouett house, I am profoundly impressed with the entire experience. Our tour guide, Sam, skillfully conveyed the intricacies of the Jouett family's challenges and triumphs, alongside explaining the significant societal contributions made by Jack Jouett. Having frequented numerous historical sites throughout the United States, I found this visit to far surpass my previous experiences and I believe it's one of the most enlightening and well-executed tours I have experienced. My sincere gratitude extends to Woodford County for their commendable preservation efforts on this historic property. Their dedication ensures that this rich tapestry of history remains accessible to the public, free of charge, a gesture that underscores their commitment to educational and historical enrichment. Special appreciation is due to our guide, Sam, who exhibited both mindfulness and patience throughout the tour. He committed to thoroughly explaining various aspects of the property, answering our questions, and transforming the tour into an engaging experience rather than a mere visit. His impressive knowledge and clear passion for the subject greatly enhanced our understanding and appreciation of this historic site.

I called the week before to ask for information about a tour on a certain day, and spoke to a really helpful guide. When I arrived the following week, not even having made an official appointment, I was pleasantly surprised that he remembered me! Ricardo's Grill & Pub is a laid-back establishment offering an extensive selection of American comfort dishes and a wide range of craft beers. The venue boasts a pleasant ambiance, with the option to enjoy your meal on their outdoor patio. The lunch experience at Ricardo's was exceptional, characterized by friendly service and delicious food. To start, they serve delectable potato skins filled generously with cheese and bacon.
Service was great and food was delicious. We both got steak and side. The side salad was super fresh with what tasted like in house made dressing. The sirloin didn’t need any sauce the flavor was so good. The atmosphere is pub like and on a Saturday night it was a little loud so keep this in mind. The waitress was super friendly and kept our drinks full. The Mac and cheese was amazing!
Kathy M — Google review
I enjoyed the food and service. Lots of fast refills, the waitress never wrote anything down and got everything correct. The burgers and fries looked great with large portions. I went with a chicken Philly and chips which I enjoyed but, the chips and salsa appetizer stole the show. They were unexpectedly amazing. I think they might make the tortilla chips there. They were off the charts fresh and the salsa had a little kick. The kids still ate it, so it wasn't crazy hot but It had a little spice. I'll be back to visit but I do hope the get a can of air and spray the cob webs out of the lights. From where we sat we could see the back of a TV and it was super dusty. Windows behind the booth were smeared with greasy kid finger prints too. I didn't take pictures because I was hoping my wife wouldn't notice so we could go back. It would be five stars easy with one night of cleaning.

OMG! I wish I could leave a 10 star review! Awesome atmosphere, Beth our waitress was phenomenal, I ate Potato Skins they were the best I've EVER had! My daughter ate a Hot 🔥 Brown that was to die for. We will be returning and telling everyone we know to eat there.

There's a nice vibe and atmosphere to this restaurant, and our waiter was super friendly with great service. Everything we ordered was very generous in portion size but more importantly everybody really enjoyed what they ordered.

Excellent lunch! Nice, quaint place. Great service! We had an appetizer of the potato skins, 5 large skins filled with cheese and bacon. We ordered a regular burger and a Philly cheesestake. The burger was was big and juicy on a nice soft Pretzel bun, alomg with perfect crinkle fries. The Philly was amazing! Not too big, well seasoned and tender meat, onions, peppers and mushrooms with melted American cheese. Amazing cheesy goodness! Comes with the house made kettle chips which were fantastic as well. We are only in the area for a few weeks, but plan to return. If this review has helped, please click the 👍 button!

Bought 3 fried chicken salads and a catfish meal with broccoli $72 including tip. Fish was so overcooked it should have been thrown away, broccoli was close to rotten and salad was mostly core, had 10 small diced tomatoes and the top of a hard boiled egg. We've gotten take out here three other times in past year, there's been something not right every time but this is completely unacceptable. Do yourself a favor and go anywhere else. Will never go back

First visit to Ricardo's. Very busy...and staff was up to the challenge: friendly, efficient and wonderful food. We'll definitely be back.

This place is great! Our server was really nice and attentive, especially since she said it was her first day. The pulled pork (they call it "The Bluegrass Conspiracy") was exceptional. It looks like an old train station stop. The serving team looks like they're constantly on their A game, they no sooner had a table cleared and someone came to wipe it down. Wish I lived closer so I could visit more often ☺

We stopped in for a quick cocktail & ending up ordering an appetizer too. The food smelled so good. Our potato skins were a little dry but still very tasty. Our server was excellent. Very friendly and checked on us numerous times even tho she was very busy. We enjoyed the atmosphere of the restaurant and lots of seating choices. It was a hot afternoon so we sat inside, but they do have a nice outdoor seating area. Our bloody Mary's were terrific. Lots of TVs to watch sports.

Good food and excellent service. Got to try a little bit of everything; the smothered tips were delicious, shrimp and grits were also good. Seating is a little tight if you have a full crew that's also hungry, but manageable. Would definitely stop by again

Went in around 9 pm, a very diverse crowd, which is absolutely beautiful. Lauren was our server, and she was very professional, informative, knowledgeable, and had a great personality. The food was very good, very fresh, as was the house Margarita. When in Kentucky again... we would definitely return to Ricardo's Grill & Pub.

I had an exceptional dining experience at Ricardo's Grill & Pub. The quality of the food was truly outstanding, and the attentive service from our waitress made the meal all the more enjoyable. The ambiance was delightful, with a tasteful decor celebrating the Kentucky raceway and its equestrian heritage throughout the restaurant. Located in a charming small town setting, Ricardo's offers the added charm of nearby old downtown shops, providing a lovely pre or post-meal stroll. My wife ordered the quesadilla, which she found delightful and even had enough to take back to our hotel. My Aunt, who was traveling with us, tried the potato boat appetizer and was impressed by the generous portion size, enough to share with the group. As for my choice, the chicken philly with fries exceeded my expectations and stood out as one of the best I've had in a long time. Every aspect of our visit earned a well-deserved 5-star rating. Kudos to the entire team at Ricardo's for their remarkable service and culinary excellence!

The Glitz is an upscale restaurant in Kentucky that offers elevated American cuisine in a charming setting inspired by fairy tales. It operates seasonally and is located within a former elementary school, sharing space with a fascinating antique shop. The menu at The Glitz is limited, featuring two entrees that change every two weeks. This establishment seems to be popular among women who enjoy frequenting it.
Everything was amazing!! I really recommend this restaurant. We had spend the best day. We enjoyed antiques as well as restaurants. Nonesuch Kiss is a good choice for dessert.👍

Four of us ladies who have been friends for 50 or 60 years enjoyed this experience very much. They catered to our every need and we were not rushed. I think it is great that the lunch is one price, yet you have choices of what you have. It is all very good! I highly recommend it for a ladies’ day out and I can’t wait to bring my 11 year old granddaughter who loves a bit of fancy!

Oh my goodness this place was remarkable! After hearing about this from a friend, I was so excited to eat here! Everything was magnificently wonderful! From the ambience, decor and atmosphere to the service, wait staff and food. When I walked in, I felt like I was walking into a winter wonderland. The service was 5 star exceptional! Each dish came out quick, drinks were always refilled, all the staff were attentive and kind. The food was exceptional! I loved that’s it’s a set menu and you choose your appetizer, entree and dessert. Also includes coffee and tea, and a glass of their delicious apple drink and I can’t recall the name, but it’s like drinking Christmas in a glass. I can’t believe I have never heard or been to this unique dining experience! I can’t wait to go back! This is perfect for a girls day out, family get together, day date with your significant other.

I enjoyed a wonderful birthday lunch today at this exquisite venue. My appetizer was superb and was large enough to share. My entree which you can see in the photo was beautiful, generous, and the flavors were beyond delicious. My dining companion was so impressed by the presentation that he snapped the photo! I have dined here several times before and am always impressed with Emilie’s creativity and culinary artistry. I had never tried the Celebration Cake until today and I must say that I have never, in all my travels, tasted anything as heavenly as this family recipe. I mentioned to our wonderful server, Anna, how blown away I was by the cake and she shared that this family recipe was her grandmother’s. Anna is always so gracious and kind. My dining companion had special dietary restrictions and they were only too happy to accommodate. I have told so many people about this gem of a restaurant; I am always confident in recommending anyone make the scenic drive to The Glitz. Thank you Emilie, Anna and staff for making today so special!

Mi Pueblito is an incredible Mexican eatery that is widely adored in Versailles, acclaimed as one of the premier establishments in the city. Renowned for its sizable food portions and unique margaritas, this restaurant offers a laid-back and soothing environment with soft lighting. Additionally, there is a secluded room available for those seeking a private setting for special occasions or business dinners.
Had a burrito and taco tonight. Both were delicious. Tons of food for the price. Chips were hot and crispy and the salsa and guacamole were perfect.

I love Mi Pubs I've grown up eating here. The food is great. But I can't help but feel they're overcharging for the small portions they're serving. They're opening TWO new locations, there's no reason to be charging so much when clearly they are raking in enough money to build a whole new custom location and also renovate the old KFC. The pandemic is over, the economy has recovered, there is zero reason to be charging so much for so little food. They should either lower their prices, or increase their portion sizes to match the price. I love their food, I love the staff, and I love eating here but I can't regularly eat at a place where I feel like I'm getting ripped off. I'm sorry but that's the honest truth.
Marshall Goodwin — Google review
The taste of the food saved the star ratings for this restaurant. They weren’t busy at all, but it took about 17 minutes to have someone ask us for drinks. Then after the drinks arrived, an additional 14 minutes for someone to ask us for our lunch order. They seemed to be understaffed? 🤷🏻‍♂️ It appeared that only 3 people served the front of the house, but as we were leaving several other employees were sitting in a booth talking? Lunch took another 12 minutes to arrive at the table after ordering, when what appeared to be locals next to us got their lunch order with minutes of ordering. Perhaps the staff here caters to locals better than out of towners? Seemed that way for us. Not sure, but as we had heard high remarks about this place for a meal, we wanted to give it a try, but it was quite disappointing. If we’re ever in Versailles again, we will go somewhere else. The food tasted good, but the service was less than desirable.

Place was actually recommended to us so we decided to check it out. Quesadillas were disappointing but otherwise LOVED the food! SO good! Cheese dip and chili rellanos were fire! A little pricier than we are used to but It Is also in a bigger busier area. We had a 2.5 hour drive to get there. The greeter at the door had 0 communication or customer service and just stood there staring at us so that started it off on a bad foot but food definitely made up for it. Service could've been better could've been worse. Our waitress seemed distracted we had to ask for the same things multiple times and she was trying to bring things we didn't order lol but the Owner? Manager? Not sure who he was someone clearly in charge but he came to the table to make sure things were good which was definitely kind and professional of him. We appreciated that. Overall I wish they were closer! Would definitely go back!

Castle Farms offers a unique experience with its Mystery Dinner Theater, where guests can enjoy personal interactions with actors and actresses from the Murder and Merriment Company. The castle grounds are stunning, providing a beautiful backdrop for leisurely walks and breathtaking views from the balcony. The attentive staff adds to the royal treatment, making it worth the price for a romantic or special occasion. The farm-to-table philosophy results in delicious, fresh food with rich flavors, making it an excellent choice for formal dining.
This was our first time there. Is it pricey? Yes. Is it worth it? Also yes. The ambience was stunning and it was romantic to be able to explore the grounds while waiting for our reservation. Our server was very helpful and described the menu items in a way that made decisions easier. The food itself was absolutely delicious. Their farm to table philosophy results in amazing fresh food with an incredible depth of flavor. This is a really great place to dine for formal or special occasions.

My first trip to KY Castle. We went as a Valentine's date for dinner at Castle Farms. I ordered off the Valentine's menu featuring 4 course meal for $75. I actually enjoyed all courses but the timing between courses was way too long. They weren't very busy when we started so I'm not sure why. Food overall was good but not fantastic. The dining room was not as lavish as I expected either. I did enjoy looking around and the bar area. Bartender was fabulous, our wine and drinks were great.

Booked Castle Farm for dinner and just wasn’t that impressed, especially for the prices. It is really impressive to visit a castle and the ambiance is really appealing. After that, it goes a bit down hill. Service was friendly, but extremely slow despite not being busy. We also had trouble contacting the restaurant to adjust our reservation to add people. They don’t answer the phone and did eventually respond to an email after a couple of days. Our party started out with bread service which was excellent. Milk bread rolls with a great butter. We hit several of the entrees across the table and all were good not great. The fried chicken was probably our best, but the accompaniments were lackluster. I ordered the steel head trout. Excellent presentation and flavor, but a bit small. It was well cooked, but unfortunately came out lukewarm warm which was disappointing. It was also fairly small, for $68 dollars (the price of a good sized steak at similar restaurants) you would expect to at least be full from the entree. The bill also took forever to come out. We were hoping for a lot more and beyond the castle atmosphere everything was average.

The Castle Farms is a wonderful restaurant located inside the beautiful castle in Lexington. It began as a labor of love when Rex and Caroline Martin purchased the land to break ground in 1969. They were taken by European castles they'd seen while vacationing in 1968 and wanted to create something special back home in Lexington. The property has since change ownership a couple of times but has remained a decades long iconic landmark in the heart of horse country. The main structure was completely rebuilt after a devastating fire in 2004. Ultimately, it's become a bucket list destination for many Kentuckians. Inside, you'll now find a lovely hotel/spa and 5-star dining where the food is incredible! Afterward, you can take into the experience by walking the grounds or viewing the entire area from the rooftop of the castle. It's truly something you have to experience at least once.

1st timers and we wasn't impressed. It's definitely pricey , in my opinion the food is mediocre. Guess your paying for "The Castle" experience. The coffee was Terrible even after requesting some hot coffee and not the cold coffee that came out first. We were in the bar area because we had a party of 12 and a lot of the chairs had stains on them. The bacon and sausage was delicious. The best part was taking photos and having the castle in the background. Except for some of my family members who had some adult beverages, they said the drinks were the best they've had for a long time. We may have to go back and give dinner a try. It is a Great experience...Ummmmm......I was actually pretty disappointed. I actually thought this was going to be a great experience just judging from the outside of the castle. In my opinion you get more enjoyment looking at the outside than you do on the inside. My family and I went for brunch. Overall, the food was just mediocre. In my opinion the price that we paid for brunch it should have been better. Some of my family members had a few drinks and they said those were Some of the best drinks they've had.I was wanting and hoping for more.. The sprite was watered down. DJ was our server and he done a great job. I thought it was going to be a much better experience than it was. It was just kinda blah... I will say it's beautiful for pictures. Maybe we'll have to try to go back for dinner because brunch just wasn't at all what I thought it was going to be. The chairs that we sat in had stains in them and was dirty I would think with this being "The Castle" everything would be on point... ummm it wasn't. I mean I guess it is a nice place to go just to have the experience and to say that you've visited the castle. If I never went back I would be perfectly fine… All I can say is "Don't Believe the Hype"

Went for a birthday gift from my wife (0716/21) seated quickly. The stuffed artichokes were amazing ( we ordered 2) Food was good. atmosphere was great. Service was great. Will be going back for an over night stay for sure. We had the wagyu short ribs( daily special) ( they had a lot of fat but tasted great) waitress seen this and offered something else so we got the pork chop. It was so good very juicy. And trout it also was good. The soup of the day was squash, yummy. And a free desert because it was a birthday dinner. They give bread and ( I think ) herb butter , very good we also had two bowls of. Would recommend a visit. Beautiful place. Kid friendly also. Check this place out and they have a on site garden they get their veggie from. Meat is local also.

My husband and I went for a late anniversary dinner. The experience of being at a castle was everything I expected it to be. The grounds and the decor on the inside were spectacular. It truly is a breathtaking place. With that being said, let me say the dining experience wasn’t up to par. Our waitress was nice, but wasn’t as attentive as she should have been. We sat with empty glasses, during the majority of our dining time. She did apologize for this towards the end. The bread board was wonderful, the presentation of the entrees and sides were great, but they tasted terrible. We definitely left disappointed. I had the local beef filet it was charred on the outside more than it should’ve been. Our macaroni and cheese side was cold and tasteless. I was really hoping that the food and service would’ve matched the rest of the experience. If you’re going to offer upscale dining then it needs to be just that. We paid well over $100 for our meal and it should’ve been one of the best meals I’ve ever eaten, but sadly it was one of the worst.

This place is a dream come true! It's a fairytale building with amazing food and ambiance! We sat in the bar area, and I was a little disappointed in that, but I quickly got over it when we started to have our food brought out! The Fresh Breasd Service is an absolute must-have!! The lamb meatballs were the only thing I wasn't as excited about, and it was due to them having what tasted to be a very strong lemon zest flavor. The lambchops and bison ribeye were topnotch, and I'd go back to have either!

My spouse and I dined at Callie's Homestyle Restaurant for lunch today and thoroughly enjoyed the food. We ordered a chicken and cheese quesadilla, which was generously portioned and filled with chicken, cheese, and vegetables. My partner opted for a patty melt that was exceptionally tender and flavorful. The accompanying onion rings were crispy and light, just as they should be. The prices were reasonable, and the staff members were incredibly friendly. We plan on returning soon!

Love the humble country vibe but needs some work. I didn't feel or see any organizational system was in place regarding service. The wait for a seat and food took way too long. I'm no professional chef but it shouldn't take that long to make a breakfast meal for 2. It took an hour for our meals to hit the table. Someone got a little southern happy with the salt shaker on my pork loin in the back. I felt like a deer licking a salt block. Our waitress was super kind though. If it's packed be ready for a wait

Fish platter was excellent, not at drip of oil at all., fresh tasty slaw and hushpuppy. The corn bread wasn't a tiny little cupcake. It was as big as the dish. Salad bowl with chicken was other dish. Excellent! We had pie with icecream which tasted homemade. Don't deny yourself a good meal in a small town. Eat here!! A+

I came in yesterday for a quick Burger and Onion Rings. I walked out with a testimony. I received a blessing of a free meal and was blown away. I balled my eyes out asking God why. I got almost home and stopped at the gas station. There was a woman there desperately needing help. She was homeless living in her car and out of gas and needed a blessing. I was able to bless her. Thank you for allowing me in on the blessing train.
