We stopped here on the way back from Mammoth instead of getting take out from McDonald's or something. Timing was perfect because it was just a few minutes before 11 when they opened (it was a Wednesday). I got the Spud Bud and, based on my choice of mac n cheese and potato salad, the server recommended the brisket. So, big baked potato stuffed with brisket and mac n cheese. To make eating this in the car easier, I opened it up in the restaurant and cut it up into easy chunks before we left, hence the photos. It smelled and looked amazing. And it was... SO GOOD!! Our group also got the cornbread, pulled pork sandwich, and the pigs in a blanket sausage sandwich with baked beans. Everyone loved their meals and we will definitely be back! Had tried other BBQ in the area that was super hyped up but enjoyed this a lot more. Definitely recommend! Bonus points for super clean bathroom, and for our to-go package being wonderfully packed up including plenty of napkins, extra sauce and the exact amount of cutlery needed (no more). Plus, I felt the prices were reasonable considering the portion sizes and effort involved. Thank you Holy Smoke! Edited post original review: Steve, Gentry says hi! :)

I’ve been here 4 times and each home it’s been really good. Probably the best food option if you’re traveling to Mammoth. 10/10 would go again.

After going for a hike and visiting the train museum we decided to stop here to get some barbecue. The meat was juicy, tender, and full of flavor. The bread on the sandwich was fresh and soft. The cornbread was one of the best cornbreads I have ever had. There really is no complaints about this place.

Stopped by on our way up to Mammoth Lakes and decided to stop by again going back. Both times, service was fast, and the food served was great. Nothing really stood out because all of the stuff (high on the hog ribs, sampler platter, BBQ big bubba, longhorn etc) we ordered were good, I guess the one I really liked were beans, corn bread, ribs and baked potatoes.
RC — Google review
Was told the food is good here, unfortunately I stopped by at the end of the day during a festival weekend so they were out of chicken, ribs, tri tip, potatoes and something else I can't remember. Looked good, staff were great, despite it being a crazy day they were nice. I wanted to get the 3 item combo but they only had 1 item I wanted. I will be stopping by next time I go by. Restrooms are nice, told the sauce is good. Decent parking, easy to find, right on the 395. Parking, entrance, counter and seating are accessible.
Thomas Wyatt — Google review
Overall good. Tried tri-tip, brisket, and 1/4 chicken. Although it wasn’t too much smokey, it was not greasy and fatty. A good balance of fat was of course in the meats but not greasy and felt very light after dining. The only down turn was the food was warm and not hot. I’d guess because of visiting them at 4 pm.
Kian N. — Google review
Loved this place so much. The owner lady was extremely nice. We came in kinda late but she still fed us. The Mac and cheese is to die for. The Tri tip from the big bubba melts in your mouth. The cornbread is sweet and crumbly, but make sure you ask for extra butter. The sweet tea is phenomenal. I’m planning on coming back for lunch tomorrow :).

The portions and price meet at a pretty good spot. Overall, the food is good, the service is great (fast!). Read on for more deets. You order at the counter, get a receipt and drinks, and sit down. They bring your food out quickly, so there isn’t a lot of waiting. The brisket is pulled apart meat instead of slices. We ordered The Steer (brisket sandwich), The Hog (pulled pork sandwich), and the Spud Bud (baked potato, beans, brisket) and also had Mac and Cheese and coleslaw as sides. Both the pork and brisket were tender, juicy, not overly seasoned, and flavorful. The rolls for the sandwiches were good. The Mac and Cheese is buttery, but good. The coleslaw is okay. The bbq sauces are generally sweet. They have four options. Neither the hot or spicy are all that hot, but the ghost will give you a kick.
Eric Kooi — Google review
First time trying Holy Smoke BBQ its pretty good but not my favorite. I ordered the sampler with brisket, tri-tip,spicy sausage, corn bread, coleslaw & bbq beans. What I really liked is the brisket, tri-tip,bbq beans and corn🌽bread. I prefer Santa Maria style bbq tri-tip and there's was cooked more like a brisket and a little chewy. Beans are sweet with brisket and the corn 🌽 bread was moist, the coleslaw I believe was mayo based not vinegar based with good flavor, sausage was just ok.
Ruben Duron Jr. — Google review
Really great tasting bbq, slaw and beans, along with good selection for hot BBQ sauce to put on top. The portion were not too justified for the price. It's enough for a normal sized dinner but compared to most American restaurants it's a bit small.
Joanna Ji — Google review
Best Texas BBQ in this neck of the woods. The brisket was the best of our sampler platter. The sides dishes are just equally delicious as well. The potatoes salads has a different kick to it. The Mac n Cheese is da bomb. Burned melted gooey cheese on top. The next best part are the bbq sauces. Regular to burn your tongue degree is spiciness. The staff is extremely friendly and very helpful. Indoor and out door seating available. Extremely satisfied!

Delicious!! This is the first time my husband and I have eaten here and it was great!! I got the Spud Bud, a baked potato stuffed with pulled pork and topped with Mac and cheese. My husband got the sampler, brisket, ribs, and sausage. All of the meats were cooked perfectly and were super tender. I would definitely recommend trying this place out...hope I get to come back again.
Big Ann — Google review
We split the combo platter with brisket and ribs and it was plenty of food for 2 people. The ribs were so tender, the meat just feel off of the bone. It really was as good as the reviews. But a couple of things about this place left us a little uncomfortable. First, the woman that was serving the plates of food had taken an order outside to a table, came back in, paused at the trash can and then began tamping the trash down. Now, I can't say for sure that she didn't wash her hands, but it only took her a moment to get a couple more plates of food to serve to another table. Second, I strongly believe that everyone should feel free to practice any or no religion that they please. However, the Christian music that is being played at this restaurant is so loud that it's difficult to hold a conversation. And I'm just assuming that there was a problem with the playlist since the same song was set to auto play over and over and over again, until we finally finished and left...

Bakery
Erick Schat's Bakery is a charming European-style bakery and deli that has been serving customers since 1938. The bakery is renowned for its wide selection of freshly baked bread, including the famous Original Sheepherder Bread, a type of sourdough that has been a staple since 1907. Visitors can indulge in an array of sweets, specialty breads, and sandwiches while enjoying the quaint setting.
After taking my first bite of the sandwich... I just had to pause and wonder what makes this taste so good? So then I tried the sauerkraut... and did another head shake, I have not tasted such quality since my childhood in Canada. Even the pickles were perfect. Not kidding, had to ask the lady of they ship food from this bakery, and indeed they do. Anytime i am passing through Bishop, I will stop here. We bought, cookies, bread, lunch rolls, and more baked goods ... This is one-of-a- kind deli and bakery.
derek swales — Google review
Quick Summary The bread is quite good, but I would lower your expectations. Don't expect the best bakery ever, but it's a pretty solid enterprise. Enjoyed the pastrami sandwich, pullovers, and bacon cheese bread. Food- 5 stars Turkey club- this was good, and I recommend it over the standard turkey, since the bacon adds extra flavor. The turkey can get bland if you choose the full (they are slicing it fresh for you). The notable thing about their sandwiches is how clean (and not greasy) all their food is Mule kick- this was decent. I preferred the pastrami over this, if you want a beef option Pastrami- this was delicious and light (not your typical greasy pastrami sandwich) Desserts / pastries- their sweets were above average. I think the notables are their pullovers and the bacon cheese bread (although not a pastry). Both of these were so buttery and rich, and not too sweet. Really enjoyed these 2 Service- 4 stars Pretty long lines and they don't move that quickly. Try to avoid rush time hours, but it's usually busy throughout the day Parking- plenty of lot parking. There's a ton of parking as the lot surrounds the perimeter. However, it may be difficult to access the parking if you're turning left, as plenty of cars crowd over the first few parking spots (not knowing there's alot more parking in the back) Bottom Line Very solid bakery if you're around the area.

Just come here - you won't regret it. HUGE range of sweet and savoury options, freshly made sandwiches - a great experience. Ordered two freshly made sandwiches which were enjoyed outside on the patio. Both were filled to the brim and tasted delicious. They also have a huge range of breads, cakes and pastries inside - more than you could sample in a month let alone a visit. Worth dropping in for the sights, sounds and smells alone.
Jason Bridgford — Google review
This Bakery gets a bit crowded but I understand why they have amazing pastries including pies, cakes, various breads, rolls, way too numerous to mention them all! They have a deli with amazingly Fresh Sandwiches and they also sell coffee beans if you want them to grind it they will. Believe me there is something for everyone at this Bakery so delicious and reasonable prices as well. Warning ⚠️ if you're trying to watch your weight stay away from this place that's my advice!
Maxx77 — Google review
I'm going to go out and say it, the sandwich shop is good, but if you have to wait 45 minutes for it, it's maybe not worth it. That being said, the fresh bread is fantastic, as is everything else they make, especially the cookies. But my favorite things are the pull-aparts. I enjoy the Dutch Crunch and the apple, but I'm sure they're all good. I may not always get a sandwich, but I will always get a loaf of sheepherder bread and a pull-apart.
Rick Rhay — Google review
My place to shop for my baked provisions for my annual camping trip. Always fresh an wonderful with so many choices from their pull apart breads to cookies. Fresh baked breads an rolls and so much more! They also have fresh made sandwiches! My favorite is the "Mule kick." Let's just say this place has a little something for everyone thats traveling the hwy395ca. through Bishop.
David Graschel — Google review
5 stars just for the smells. Very busy so make sure you have a little time but worth the wait for a fresh made sandwich with choice of the freshest bread. There is so much to choose from so be prepared to make tough decisions or just break the wallet and enjoy dessert too and pick up something yummy to have for breakfast tomorrow. Great little place to stop and potty and fill the tummy on a road trip. Enjoy.
Joanne Schmutz — Google review
After seeing signs for a 100 miles we had to stop. Also it was obviously a very popular place. There is traffic all over a small town centered on this place. It was very easy to get in-and-out of because of the way they have the parking setup and you go around the building and there's even a stop light to get you out back onto the road. There was a conveniently placed park across the street where you can take the things you got in the bakery. The bakery staff were very helpful and amazing at getting the volumes of people in-and-out without there being a big bottle neck inside the store. The Bakery itself has amazing baked goods and treats and that are all incredible. Energy bread and their famous sheep sheep herder's bread was all incredibly good and if we're ever out that way again we will definitely be stopping.

Erick Schat's Bakery is undoubtedly a gem in the charming town of Bishop. From the moment you step inside, the warm, inviting aroma of freshly baked goods fills the air, and you know you're in for a treat. It's no wonder this bakery has earned such a stellar reputation among locals and visitors alike. The variety of baked goods offered at Erick Schat's is truly impressive. The selection of pastries, cakes, and cookies is equally delightful, catering to all tastes and preferences. Each item seems to be crafted with care, showcasing the bakery's dedication to quality and taste. However, the popularity of Erick Schat's Bakery comes with a small caveat. Every time I visit, I am reminded of just how beloved this place is, as it is always bustling with customers. While this speaks volumes about the bakery's reputation, it does lead to longer wait times during peak hours. So, if you prefer a more relaxed and quiet experience, it might be best to plan your visit during less busy times. Despite the crowds, the staff at Erick Schat's Bakery remain friendly and attentive, working hard to serve each customer with a smile. They handle the rush with efficiency, and you can tell they genuinely care about ensuring every guest leaves satisfied. If you're a lover of all things baked, Erick Schat's is a must-visit destination that won't disappoint.

The bakery boasts an extensive array of breads, making the experience incredibly enjoyable and the shop is bustling with energy. Due to the long line for sandwich orders, I opted for a ready-made sandwich instead, and it was still very delicious. There are tables outside the shop, allowing for a pleasant outdoor dining experience.

Beloved by locals and visitors alike, this pastry and bakery is a must visit if you’re in town with plenty of parking space and dining area. The staff are always friendly. A clean bathroom is also available if that’s all you need. There are tons of baked varieties and pastries; coffee and ready made sandwiches. If you prefer made to order sandwiches, it is somewhat hidden behind the dips/sauce section. Be warned though, if you are looking for gluten-free something, they don’t have it/make it. Their mocha if you’re into that is a bit sweeter.
Dru Looks — Google review
An absolute must stop whenever traveling through Bishop!! I always get a BBQ Turkey sandwich on a chili cheese bun, absolutely delicious and only $13.99 for a combo w chips and a drink The pastries are so good and affordable too! I stockpile the lemon cookies as well as getting a dozen donuts for the fam The staff is always friendly and helpful when deciding what to get!

It’s such a iconic spot in this little cute town. My husband and I drove back from Mammoth and stopped by this bakery. It surprised us when we walked in, I will say this place is a heaven of all types of cookies, pastries and breads. We got several different kinds of cookies and breads to go. The bread we got is their original Sheepherder bread. They also offer some samples, they all taste great!
LULU LIVE Art — Google review
Went several times and each time I went was amazing. They have the cutest decorations and while the bread is a little pricier than at the grocery store, it is delicious. Their deli is amazing and so is their homemade bread. There definitely are some tourist aspects to it, and it can get really crowded and busy. Worth stopping by if you are in the area

This place is crazy! And who would have guessed in Bishop on the way the Easyern Sierras. Apparently everyone knew about it, except for me.... I was totally blown away by the amount of different types of bread and bakes goods this place makes. Bread and delicious deli sandwiches on one side and bakery sweet treats on the other. Worth the stop just to see it all. I tried multiple items and I will say although none of it was what I'd describe as pure heaven, HOWEVER, it was all delicious and worth the calories. I am picky when it comes to baked goods, so that is a huge compliment from me. Just looking at everything is worth the stop in my opinion. I was told sometimes there are lines out the door. Fortunately we walked right in, got our goods- no line. I already know what I'm going to try on my next trip through Bishop.
Kimberly Hall — Google review
Its reputation and the crowd it draws is well warranted. The sheepherder's bread is delicious, with a nice firm crust on the outside and soft crumb on the inside. The sandwiches are always good and I've honestly never been disappointed when getting one, despite the long line. I love that you can take home the sheepherder's bread, you can buy a mix for it and they have many other types of bread as well, like chile and cheese or olive. Their bakery section is just as good, with different types of pull apart bread available for purchase. You can with the classic, peach or pecan and sometimes they have seasonal flavors. (Not like pumpkin spice, just some fresh flavors that are available during specific seasons) And can't forget the cookies. They're thin, buttery cookies that crumble easily but are soooooo tasty. Schat's is basically like an institution for Bishop and everyone who is traveling to the Mammoth or beyond.

This bakery was recommended by a friend, and it really surprised me! It was a larger and more well stocked bakery than any other I have been to. They have a sandwich station at lunch time, incredible bread selection, and a bakery/sweets section that is very hard to walk through without buying everything. There were many people inside but it didn't feel too crowded. We got a loaf of bread that is very tasty, cookies, and incredible cinnamon rolls. I wish we lived closer!
Meagan Reilly — Google review
This is the best bakery / sandwich shop in the whole wide world!!! I love and highly recommend everything here, especially the veggie sandwich. I wish I lived close by so I can grab a snack everyday! Super fresh ingredients, the most amazing freshly sliced bread, the best combination of ingredients, they are to absolutely die for. Their fresh squeeze orange juice is another hit, and you get a free cookie with your Sando!! There are premade sandwiches (what I always go for) but you can also wait at the sandwich bar to get yours ultra fresh, but I haven’t noticed a difference. Be prepared, this place can be a zoo, I am not the only one who loves it, so brace yourself to navigate the crowds!
Patricia Curry — Google review
Always pretty buay but it is insane busy on the weekends. Great baked goods, fresh sandwiches to go OR wait in line to get your sandwhich customized. The santa sandwhich is one of my favorites. This place is definitely a must try!

WOW! This place is loaded with some amazing items! Very difficult to decided what to get with so many options. Definitely make the stop to pick up some goods. Yes, there likely will be a line. The obvious indicator people like their stuff. They get ya through efficiently. Nice there is a public restroom to use. Bummer the deli was closed when we were there cause it looked like some great options!

Stopped here many years ago on our way to Reno. We decided to take another trip along hwy 395. I remembered this place and made it a mandatory stop for lunch. Still was a great place to stop after so many years remembering this place.

Stumbled upon this gem by accident - the nighttime decorations were stunning! Went back for breakfast the next day, and oh my goodness! They have an endless selection of bread and pastries. Tried the original Sheepherder bread, butter brickle, and some pastries - all so fresh and delicious. Such a lovely and unique spot for breakfast! Thank you. 😊
Jolita Val — Google review
Erick Schat’s Butter Spritz cookies are what I always look forward to on a Bishop rock trip. I tried all their cookies and this flavor is definitely the best. Their chocolate covered coffee beans are another of my must-buys, and are especially perfect for those with less of a sweet tooth than me. Their Lemon Cream Cheese Cookies are excellent lemon cookies, with wonderfully sweet lemon icing, but I’m not sure I tasted any cream cheese at all. Their cheesecake is nothing too special, but is still better than the average supermarket cheesecake. The glazed donut I tried had an off-flavor. I wouldn’t recommend. The cranberry and white chocolate bread is stellar! For a heartier (less sweet) option, their energy loaf is a solid choice. Service was barely enough for the bakery to even be a business. I asked how much a certain pastry cost, and was told I would need to ask the cashier. Some of the staff are extremely nice and patient, but overall it’s a mixed bag.
Ka Wo Chen — Google review
A glutinous and non gluten heaven. There are so many breads and tasty treats to choose from. There's something for everyone; fresh made sandwiches, coffee, Gelato, croissants, bread, coffee cake, pull aparts, cookies, and chocolate. The list goes on! Everything I tasted was amazing. I can't believe I haven't stopped here before.
Melissa Jones — Google review
Upon entry, you’re immediately going to smell the freshly baked bread. Not only do they have sweet pastries, they have the savory kinds too so it’s an ideal place for a meal. They do have outside seating, so it’s a good spot for people watching too. There’s a bunch to choose from, we grabbed a few, all of them were good and fresh.

Wine bar
Good Earth Yogurt is a unique establishment that combines a frozen yogurt shop with a wine bar, offering customers the opportunity to enjoy both treats in one location. The yogurt is not only delicious but also organic, and what stands out is their exceptional hot fudge made from dark and rich chocolate. Alongside this delectable topping, they provide an extensive selection of high-quality options such as fresh fruits and chocolate flakes.
Good yogurt and nice wine tasting. Small but we'll kept and very clean. Brought two bottles home and enjoyed some yogurt before my trip home.

Great atmosphere, customer service and ice cream. I would expect the prices if I was in a beer touristy area, otherwise 5 stars.
Jon Kudjerski — Google review
Nice little joint! Yogurt and topping options are limitless! Rate on yogurt weight is pretty steep so watch out. Not so straightforward on pies and wine unfortunately, and going Saturday night, we thought it was closed at first since no-one was inside 😕

This is the best froyo place I’ve ever been to. Delicious, organic, healthy, and a world class toppings bar, even with fresh raspberries. There’s also a beer/wine bar. Great decorations and vibe, too. Plz don’t change a thing. Will be back!
Noah Dentzel — Google review
Be careful, $1.25/oz adds up to A LOT. I got bareful a half full cup, using the smallest cup, and paid over $10. Good tasty yogurt, especially the tart flavor. The mochi toppings could be fresher. Not sure if worth the money tho. What's happening to frozen yoghurt man.

I came to Good Earth for the first time yesterday and it was such a great experience!! I felt kinda bad because we came about 30 min til closing but the guys working (Dylan and Matthew) were so polite and friendly. When we had questions they took their time to explain products and made great recommendations. Literally everything was so good - I got the Big Easy wine, boyfriend got a flight of wine which was cool cause you get 4 options, we got a meat and cheese board (which again I was so pleasantly surprised by how much thought and creativity Dylan put into making it - and of course it was delicious!!) and mom got a spicy avocado yogurt which was interesting/different but delicious nonetheless. I haven't tried the frozen yogurt so maybe next time I can update my review further. Honestly one of my new favorite spots in Bishop. Can't believe I grew up here (granted this place only opened up a few years ago?) but I came to visit my parents so often and I've never been here until yesterday! It's interesting because the business is called "Good Earth Yogurt" instead of incorporating wine or cheese which I'm totally not judging, but maybe would have enticed me to try it out earlier - anyways I had a great experience here, will come back again!

I loved their variety of flavors, toppings, and fudges. There is never a line since you serve yourself. They have the most exotic flavors and the most simple ones as well. Definitely five stars.
Lyra Kaufman — Google review
$1.25/oz happens quick in those giant cups!! Just be careful!! We all chose the smallest cup available, and filled it, like you would expect. After toppings, over $50 for three of us. Self serve, so we only have ourselves to blame? Or not enough transparency from the business about what a small cup, is going to cost? You be the judge.. but nobody, and I mean nobody, wants to pay over 50 dollars for 3 cups of frozen yogurt. It is likely that we will not return…
J West — Google review
One of my favorite spots to go to for a small treat or a delicious sandwich. They even sometime have vegan options for frozen yogurt! It can be a little pricey, but it's worth it with the quality of their food.
Zoe Tuggle — Google review
An outrageously excellent concept: a swirl-your-own frozen yogurt shop and wine bar under one roof! Get your wine earlier and your yogurt later as a result. The yogurt is great- and all organic- but what I really noticed was that they have about the best hot fudge I’ve ever tasted. Dark and rich, and not that sweet, the fudge must be made with chocolate as well as cocoa. Just heavenly. Plus fresh fruits and chocolate flakes among the wide array of top-quality toppings. Lots of space inside to sit and work- and there is a laundromat out the back. Turn a chore into a great outing. Just a block from the Tesla Supercharger. Accessible, with accessible restrooms.

Awesome shop. Organic fro-yo with all the toppings, wine bar with a great selection, and beers on tap. Great interior space that is light, bright, and inviting. Nice inside lounge seating as well. Just the place Bishop needed. My only criticism was the lack of a non-dairy option. Wouldn't hold that against them though, definitely coming back!

Eastside Juice Bar in Bishop is a small family-owned gem that offers a delightful menu of juices, smoothies, acai bowls, and savory food. The friendly staff and cozy interior make for a welcoming atmosphere. Customers can enjoy reading books while savoring their delicious avocado tuna wrap or refreshing juice. While the prices may be slightly higher than average, the quality of the menu items makes it worth it.

Not very many vegan options or customizable options for building your own sub sandwich. We got the power wrap, chips and the tropical coconut smoothie; including tax and tip it came out to $29. Service was great! Food was good. 👍🏼

So glad this little gem exists in Bishop! MUCH BETTER juices and menu items than Looney Bean in town. This is a small family owned juice bar, with very friendly service, and delicious smoothies, juices, and açaí bowls. Savory food as well but didn’t try it. Highly recommended! Only downside is a bit pricey (but not abnormal for Bishop) and unfortunately plastic packaging instead of washable/reusable bowls/plates/straws etc.

I had the avocado tuna wrap and it was genuinely one of the best things I've ever eaten. I can't believe I've been in Bishop for 7 months and just went to this place today! I got a juice as well and it was very delicious, although I forgot what it was called. I highly recommend going and trying whatever you think sounds good because it probably is better than you think it will be. The staff was very nice as well and it's cute inside. They have books you can read if you feel like it. I will definitely be going back and will recommend it to anyone who asks :) Thank you Eastside Juice Bar, you guys are awesome!

When you walk in a shop and see Nutrition and Physical Degeneration on a far shelf right off the bat, you know you’re in good company! Wow, what an awesome find on our way through town. We popped in to grab some coffee and a snack. El Ranchito is a casual diner serving Mexican classics, including breakfast, with beer and margaritas. Visitors have raved about the authentic flavors of the food, generous portions, and homemade quality. The homestyle potatoes, whole pinto beans, house-made salsa, and chips are highly recommended. The service has been described as outstanding and thorough. Despite its unassuming appearance from the outside, it offers a warm atmosphere with friendly service.
Charming and authentic eatery. I requested vegetarian taco and they made a mushroom pepper taco which is so fresh and delicious. fresh made fluffy corn and flour tortillas. Kids French toast fully loaded with egg yolk and perfectly browned.the services are very warm and attentive (attention to details). Definitely the best among those few we also tried in Bishop!

Food was alright but not a good service! Waitress was in a bad mood. They took a long time to give us our order and drinks. They over charged us for our food. I did not like the salsa they put on top of my molcajete it tasted like the pace salsa. Ps. Some of the prices of the menu are not updated. And if you want tortillas with your molcajete it’s extra.

5 stars! Wonderful experience. Tastes like true authentic Mexican. We had a late breakfast. The kids loved it. They raved over their plates. The food was fresh, delicious and very generous portions. Everything seemed homemade. I recommend the homestyle potatoes and the whole pinto beans. The homesmade salsa is perfect. The chips are house made. I tried the extra spicy salsa in the bottle. Perfect balance of garlic and spicy. Over all Great experience. Outstanding and thorough service from our waiter. Look forward to eating there again soon.

I was able to get a solid diner style breakfast here, complete with all the regular breakfast fixings: coffee, eggs, bacon. Friendly service and a good place for a stop while driving through bishop.

Worst borrito I’ve ever had. I feel deceived. Ordered a burrito Al Pastor to go. Burrito was 90% rice, 10% canned corn and mushrooms. NO MEAT at all. Even MacDonalds is tastier. The Mexican place next door is so much better!

Fast service. Satisfying vegan options. I got the veggie burrito with no cheese, no sour cream, and avocado instead of guacamole (the guac has sour cream). It is a big burrito with great flavor. It has mushrooms, corn, red bell pepper, green bell peppers, beans, and rice. The house salad was small for the price, but the burrito made up for it.

Decided to get breakfast while wandering through town. My husband ordered the pork chop and eggs, not the best. Thinnest chop we've ever seen. My omlette was was meh. My daughter got asada fries, the meat was dry and chewy. Service was ok.

Had the adobada and Al pastor tacos, although they say that they are small I thought they were fairly large. The salsas are good. Service is good and they are attentive here.

At $19 a plate, I don't recommend the Chile Colorado served at El Ranchito. The red sauce was too thin and lacked flavor, and the portion sizes were the equivalent of a $7-8 meal. Skip this place and try a different restaurant in Bishop.

The staff here is delightful. The old church that the restaurant is located in is rich in history and has such a great ambiance. It's the perfect setting for an inviting meal. The staff is wonderful, they are always friendly, happy and attentive. The food is delicious. The menu has so many wonderful choices. We love bringing the entire family here because there is something for everyone. The chips and salsa are beyond fantastic and pair it with table side prepared quacamole, oh my goodness, you'll be so happy you did. My teenage granddaughter loves the Chingolingas, and the boys never go away hungry! I have tried nearly every burrito on the menu and love every one of them. The entre salads are insanely delicious! The Azreca Chicken Salad is my favorite. Tossed in their house made cilantro-lime dressing, with fresh slices of avocado .... The avocado bowl with carne asada is out of this world amazing! This El Ranchito is our favorite

We were staying one night in Bishop and this place was recommended by our hotel host. It is close to our hotel and has parking at the back. The ambiance is more of a “hole in the wall” diner. I was surprised that the items on the menu was pricey. The special seafood soup that I had was $25 and I expected more seafood & flavor. Our server was nice but forgetful. He forgot to give me a spoon with my soup and I had to flag him down.

The asada ranchita was wonderful, and my wife said that the tilapia tacos were the best she's had in a long time. The place was really busy on a Saturday evening. Lots of noise in the small dining room. However, this didn't keep us from enjoying a good meal. I recommend dining here.

Stopped by this place before heading home. It looked really empty but the sign said open. We parked in back and walked through the door. It felt strange walking through the office area, storage and kitchen but the cooks waived us through to the tables. We started with some chips and salsa. The various salsas were amazing. Try the chipotle and the creamy green salsa. Yum! I was torn between the Huevos rancheros and the Chile Colorado omelette but I chose the rancheros with beans as my side. It was good but I’m still wondering how there chile Colorado was. Hubby got the chorizo and egg plate with half hashbrowns, half beans as his side. Also good. It was super cheap! $13 each! Great service, friendly staff, not busy. Try it if you are driving through Bishop.

Excellent authentic Mexican cuisine! We are visiting from San Jose and we stopped here for dinner. The hospitality was amazing and so was service, they are vegan, vegetarian and gluten free friendly. They have a good number of vegetarian options, we tried their vegetarian wet burrito and it was so damn good and one of the the best I’ve had, the flavors were beyond amazing. I’d definitely recommend this place if you are looking for food options in Bishop.
