Gastropub
Pita Kabob Mediterranean Gastropub in midtown Visalia has gained a reputation for its exceptional craft beer selection and innovative twists on Mediterranean classics. One standout dish is the Lulu Lavash, a unique combination of lamb and beef served on a bun. Alongside this, their kabobs are also highly regarded. The gastropub has been a trailblazer in the area since 2014 and continues to offer an outstanding dining experience without compromising quality.
Always in search of a good Gyro and Pita Kabob did not disappoint! Had the original/traditional with garlic sauce. Plenty of meat and veggies. Tender meat and t he garlic sauce was excellent, but I didn't reak of garlic the rest of the day either. Highly recommend!

Casual Mediterranean cuisine that combines middle eastern and Greek flavors. Started lunch with home made jalapeño humus and continued with the delicious lamb accompanied by saffron rice and Greek salad.

Great food, great service. The hostess were a little rude and intense. The bartender was amazing. Great dude. The sever was meh. They have a baby changer! That is a. Automatic Star! Parking lot in the back. If you find yourself in this little town, why not come on by. Just don’t move anything, the hostess will crack the whip. I saw them do it to many people. “Not to our brand”

The food is very good with large portion and reasonable price. The cilantro hummus is very unique. Highly recommend to the people who like cilantro. Medium rare Beef and lamb is juicy and tasty. The salad is also good. Ppl can choose dine in indoor or outdoor. The environment is cozy and staffs are friendly.

Food was simply amazing. Pictured is jalapeño hummus, pita with a PK combination plate of chicken and filet mignon. They have many beers on tap. The fries were delicious also.

I brought my lady for lunch. Our first time here. We liked it! Staff was nice, cool atmosphere and compliments to the chef Randy. Food was delicious. 👍🏽

The food and service was excellent which is why I gave 4 stars. The price is where I had a problem, this place was considerably pricier than other Mediterranean places with the same quality of food. They also charge an extra dollar to use your credit card. I would have given 3.5 stars if possible because of price, with tip I paid 30 dollars for lunch.

Fantastic food. You generally get good Mediterranean food in California but I was not expecting to find anything so good in the town of Visalia. In fact, Visalia had some good options but I selected this for dinner. We got chicken shawarma fries and spicy pita bread. I can't really tell which was better. The spicy pita bread was not overpowering in terms of spiciness and at the same time it had a nice flavor of mint chutney. Shawarma fries were no less. The only recommendation I will give is to get half a portion of fries if you are not sharing it with anyone. The full comes with a lot of quantity. Speaking about desert, I got pistachio baklava. I would just say I had better baklava. But that won't take the rating of this place down. In summer, it's a good idea to sit outside. They have a nice atmosphere outside. The service is quick and waiters here are knowledgeable about what they are serving.

Authentic Lebanese Gem.....I found this place after a trip to Beirut. Missed the food in Lebanon, so I googled Lebanese food near me....and this lovely place popped onto the screen....great service, clean, and authentic. Coming back very soon!!

Very good tasting food. We will be back here again to try out other items on the menu. Our server was also friendly and polite which is a plus. Ok
Brian Macias — Google review
This is by far the best Mediterranean food restaurant I have ever been to. Wow! We got the family dinner option, and let me tell you, it definitely feeds five people as advertised. Everything was high quality and tasty. The beef and lamb kabobs were on point. If you are ever around, definitely check this place out.
Andrei Jaume Willenska — Google review
Don't come here for falafels. Just dont. The falafel was hard and lacked flavor, while the steak kabob was slightly tasty but also needed more flavor.
Jasmin M — Google review
Such great food which is why I always come back! Good amount of vegan options which is very rare in visalia! Not a fan of having to place a Togo order only online, you can't call over the phone to make one. Online you are only able to do so much, can improve their website for ordering. You have to go to two separate counters to place two different orders if you want a pizza and then other food. Having one spot to make one order would be more convenient. Service is always hit and miss here sometimes they are friendly other times just blah.
Miss Kariss — Google review
I love the atmosphere of the restaurant. Service was quick. The food was yummy and delicious. I would definitely come back. We got the gyros and shawarma chicken/beef. I gave 4/5 because I did have better Mediterranean food and this restaurant had made one of my top. :) Q/Q

Food is amazing and our friends said the drinks were great too. We got the combo plate, it comes with 2 choices of meat and salad. It was too much food for two people. We all went into food coma after eating the food. Very nice outdoor seating. There’s some sprinkler to cool down, and it works great! Our waiter is very attentive and nice.
Alisa S. — Google review
Food's amazing! Love the lamb! Only complaint is the noisy dining room, which isn't an issue on a beautiful day sitting at their outside dining area.
Joy Carlson — Google review
Wow, is all I can say we had the family style combo plate fed 4 adults. Flavor of food one of the best Mediterranean food I have ever had. Gia, the manager recommended the dish and she served our table. Great customer service.

Pizza restaurant
The Planing Mill is a charming pizzeria located in downtown, offering a variety of wood-fired pizzas with fresh and unique toppings. The menu features artisan options like succulent chicken, roasted garlic, serranos, peanuts, roasted red pepper, and cilantro on a pad Thai sweet & spicy sauce base. In addition to pizzas, they serve flavorful sandwiches and salads. Recently relocated to a larger space with a 44-person banquet room, it's an ideal spot for events.
I sat at the bar for dinner- the bar tender was very courteous and gave me recommendations on the pizzas. I had the Three Little Pigs and a #13 on tap that he recommended after asking my beer preference. It was a GREAT meal! The onions on top were seasoned and cooked perfectly. I had a side of ranch with my pizza that made it oh so yummy!
Christina Price — Google review
We ordered online, but the pictures on their website are deceiving. On the website it shows the pizzas full of toppings, this is NOT what we got. Hardly any pepperoni on the personal and limited ham and pineapple on the medium Hula. The box that held the deep dish Primavera veggie was a puddle of grease. The description states it has a pesto sauce, but instead, pesto was just glopped on the top with a large amount of salt. It was uneatable. Sorry, just not worth the price for this below average experience.
Kristine Warren — Google review
The food here was great I had pizza and my mom had the pulled pork sandwich. Great homemade dough and tasty sauce on the pizza. We ate outside and brought our dog. They even brought us some dog treats and water for her! I’d eat here again for sure.
Ben Hommerding — Google review
We had the Detroit style Jack and Meg (pepperoni with basil) and a Greek salad with grilled chicken. This is a must for thick crust lovers. Thickest crust I've ever had on any pizza hands down. Their sauce is good too, perhaps a little sweeter tasting than some that I enjoyed as I am not a huge red sauce fan. The salad was also good and fresh and reasonably priced.
kyle cade — Google review
Great food & building. My only dislike is having to order & pay through my phone. Hard if you're paying cash or don't have a smartphone.
Susan Metheney — Google review
This is the place for food and beer! Great ambience. Large tables great for setting down big pies. Amazing wings, we had honey Sriracha boneless wings. The yeti pizza was just what this meatlover craved! The crust on this pizza is a pillow of delicious. This place makes you wish you lived in Visalia and not just visiting.
Scott Meier — Google review
Ordered through doordash. I called the restaurant specifically to ask that they do not put mushrooms on one half of the pizza. They put mushrooms on all of the pizza. Half of the pizza was burned. I called the restaurant and spoke with Tabitha. She was professional, and accommodating. This kind of customer service is exceptional. And very much appreciated. She deserves accommodation from her employer.
Kyle Anderson — Google review
I waited in the front and no one approached me. I walked to the register to order and the cashier turned her back on me. She didn't talk to me until the manager acknowledged me. She told me it was take out only. Seeing that there were over 15 people eating there I asked if my kids and I could also eat inside..she said no...then told me to ask the host. There was no host. Needless to say..we left and didnt order.
Lizet Aldaz — Google review
Took my family there for lunch. The pizza was really good...the wings were amazing, especially with the Thai sauce! Great environment. If you have kids, they have a little area in front where they can run around. Highly recommend this place!

The Planing Mill is simply amazing. I am sharing a very unique experience my wife and I had at The Mill recently, we had our WEDDING THERE! Tim, Erin, Tabitha, and the entire staff was amazing to work with. We rented the restaurant out, they worked with us and our DJ to create an awesome space. Many of our guests said it was the best wedding and reception they ever went to AND the best food and drink's they've ever had at a wedding. The Mill is a staple in our community and I'm so happy they partnered with us on our special day to make it great. I would HIGHLY recommend if you're looking for an event space that has it all for your wedding, dinner, reception, anything at all, that you give The Mill a shot. Also go in for lunch, the best pizza in town with the best service. Thank you everyone at The Mill!!!

I found the Planing Mill on a google search and felt this the perfect place for a date night. We visited during dinner and ordered several items. I ordered a Cesar salad, boneless bbq wings and my husband ordered fries and the margarita pizza. All items were delicious warm and filling. The service was 10/10. Our food was served quickly and during a busy time of day. This restaurant is family friendly. Will be back in future for more date nights.

I have lived in Visalia for 4 years and I have never heard of this place but what a find it was. Service was great, the atmosphere was awesome walking into the restaurant it smelled amazing. Pizza was one of the best I have eaten. I am thankful that my daughter in law gave me a gift card from there. I will be back, it's not far from my home

My wife and I just had our baby shower in Planing Mill's banquet room this past Sunday. Everything about our experience was fantastic. A special shout-out to Miya, Tabitha and the rest of their Sunday work crew. You guys were all very accommodating, especially since the rest of the restaurant was already busy that day. We will be recommending you to all our friends for these types of events. Thank you guys again for all your hard work!

This establishment is known for its Tri-Tip Dinner, which has gained popularity over time, ensuring visitors a delectable dining experience while exploring downtown or venturing through Central California.
First time here, great experience. Drove from Fresno. All of the staff was very friendly and welcoming. Comfortable environment. We had the Blackened salmon chowder, little bit of spice so tasty!! Garlic fries also good.

Our waitress was amazing! I ordered a round of Red Beers 🍻 to set the Lunch Vibe w/ my Family who has Never been. We sat upstairs, and enjoyed our lunch & Every1 was Super Happy.

We came here while visiting in Exeter nearby and definitely enjoyed it. The food was excellent and our waitress was great! She gave recommendations that were spot on and was super sweet. The on tap beers were delicious, in line with the pretzel w/cheese and burgers. We didn't LOVE the beer brownie but that didn't stop us from eating it all! Would easily recommend this place to others.
Shea Dilly — Google review
Fish and chips were delicious and worth it. Steak was okay for a brewery company but not the best. Potato wedges were not as good as the fries. I do like their flight $18 and worth even pretty penny!!!

Love everything about this place. The atmosphere is chill and enjoyable, the weather was perfect for their upstairs patio(small so it fills up quickly). Food is great & gastro pub style. The brews are fresh and crisp, especially their ciders. It's a very popular establishment so keep that in mind if you're running on a tight timeframe or on a shorter lunch break.

100% would recommend! We start with the Buffalo wings which were good. Then we shared the BBQ Ranch Burger OMG it was amazing so messy but delicious. I had their seltzer which was was just updated to pomegranate so yummy! My husband had the blonde ale which he enjoyed!

Pleasant surprise from other breweries. I had personally grown tired of the food from OTHER breweries in the area. Their food dropped in value and quality when they used to be great. However, I’m very happy that I stumbled into Brewbakers today. I had a small fish and chips with a substation of garlic potato wedges. I paired this with the Sequoia Red and it was pretty damn good. Not only is it good value (less than $20 for the meal+beer), it was very good. Wouldn’t be surprised if somebody told me that all the food is made in house. Staff was very timely and friendly, which I love from these local places because it makes it easier to support them. I personally did not try the pizza burger, but a friend in our party loved it. The popcorn chicken was good and was a decent sized piece of chicken. Everything was cooked extremely well and I will definitely be coming back soon.

Great local spot in Visalia! Beer is great, homemade sodas for those who are looking for something non alcoholic. Salads are delish and not pictures is their blackened salmon chowder which is one of my favorite things to have in Visalia!

Their food is AMAZING!!! We went in on a Saturday right when they opened at 11am and were seated promptly. We had our two children (1yr old and 9 yr old) they offered a coloring page and crayons for kids. The server was attentive and knowledgeable. Food came out fast and hot. It was a great experience. When we were ready for our check the server was portioning brownies... I guess so thankfully another staff member was nearby and we were able to pay and leave. Great food, great service and kid friendly!

Traveling through town and found this very cool brewery and restaurant in downtown Visalia. Robert the bartender was excellent and the food was good and fair priced. Lots of good local brew selections, ceafted on site, but I especially liked the Michelada that Robert fixed. Enjoyed that drink along with a delicious plate of fish and chips as I watched Monday Night Football on the big screen.

I wrote to the restaurant about this,, but it was ignored. So here I am.. I was in recently (12/31/23) with my family. We had 3 young children with us. When ordering drinks we asked if lemonade was available for them. It was.. The server brought 3 small cups with lids for them. When we paid we discovered that we were charged $5 ea for the kids drinks, beyond the kids meal price. I brought it up to the server when I paid, not asking for a discount or refund, juat saying for future reference maybe a person should be told the kids drink is an extra $5 charge. She then said my dad grows the lemons, they're local. I explained I understand it was likely a specialty drink but a heads up that it was extra, especially $5 each would have been good. Especially since 2 of the 3 kids didn't even drink theirs. We absolutely would have not order them. The server was polite about it but dismissed me essentially. This experience stuck with me so I felt like I had to say something. In all honesty between that, how long everything took, and the quality of our sandwiches I can't imagine I will be back, at least not for a long time.

Tommy's is one of our favorite places for a nicer night out. But you'd also be comfortable there in jeans and a t-shirt. Service is always great and the food is terrific. Definitely try their amazing beignets 🤤

Service was outstanding. Started with the Lobster bites, stuffed mushrooms and lobster Mac and cheese. I couldn't pick a favorite. All of them were so good! I had the meatloaf. The flavor was incredible. Finished with the smores dessert. The presentation was fun! Great dinner.
Amber Aguirre — Google review
I'd been wanting to try Tommy's for ages and finally the opportunity presented itself. It was a busy night (high school formal) so we had to sit in the bar although that may have been a plus. Our server (Melissa) was wonderful! Friendly, funny, helpful. There were some glitches with our food, but it all turned out great. I'd highly recommend the stuffed chicken as an entree and the bread pudding for dessert. The stuffed mushrooms were delicious too. When we left, with leftovers, we were both stuffed.
JeanneMarie Ginn — Google review
I was hired as a photographer for a scholarship awards dinner at Tommy's. I recently moved here from San Luis Obispo, and I haven't tried this restaurant yet. It was about an hour before the event, while waiting at home, when all of a sudden, this urge for chips and salsa arose. I thought I'd just have one or two, but no. I devoured it, like I usually do. This is why I wasn't very hungry when I arrived at Tommy's. The staff was amazing and attentive. They appeared to be slightly understaffed, but the employees were hustling and making it work. Back to the food. Since I wasn't very hungry, I decided on the Stuffed Mushrooms. Oh my word. I love these. So much so that I ordered a second plate. I am very much looking forward to trying Tommy's when my belly is empty. I looked at everyone's plates and the portions were huge! And the plating was on point.

Dining was good...but when we reach at 9, the front staff told us since we were late the reservation is cancelled and the kitchen is closed..she did not give us the option to dine in the bar area. She did not even wait for me to ask few more questions. Thank god my husband is a regular and he knew we can dine in at the bar area at 9 ish. Our bar tender and waitress Kathy was so.sweet and accomodating. The earlier girl from the fine dining room was a bad in cust service. Food was nice and wine was cool too.

Came here for my anniversary the lobster Mac & cheese appetizer was creamy/ cheesy but to find shrimp and lobster mixed in I guess to save money because some people can’t tell the different, I mention it to the waiter and he got frustrated with me over it and just ignored what I was explaining on the left it’s shrimp because it has stripes of orange and on the right it’s lobster bites and because it’s clean of stripes. Then ordered the ribeye steak had alot of membrane ordered medium rare and was not cooked even some areas still had dripping blood so I just cut around it at this point so I just felt awkward vibe from the waiter so I didn’t mention anything. Also when I got the ribeye they added one shrimp and one lobster bite on the potato and the lobster is not on the menu description I think they mix them together so they can have same flavor. The bread pudding was the highlight of the night would not go back.

Service was friendly but never even got offered bread. Chicken Marsella had a good flavor but was so dry and hard I couldn’t eat it. Got a 10% discount. Lobster Mac and cheese was good. Won’t return any time soon

Our compliments to the Chef. Truly a 5-Star affair. We ordered the fish specials. Halibut with a ginger sauce and Salmon encrusted in pistachio with a pesto topping. Cooked to perfection with sauces to die for. Vegetables also perfectly seasoned and cooked. Add a bottle of wine!

Exquisite food. Weird service...they made 3 mistakes. Bar area was so loud we couldn't enjoy our whole time there. Obnoxious crowd at night, don't go on that side if you are not on that vibe. It was the only table available for us though on a Friday night without a reservation. But the food was so good it makes up for all this😝 Very nice Xmas decorations.

a real gem in an area not expected. Fine dining with great menu options. 😋 The Tempura Sweet potato was amazing addition to meal. great steaks with perfect searing. And twice baked potato with creamy sauce and shrimp
Greig Smith — Google review
I ended up going off menu for a change and ordered the halibut. It was just ok. I wasn't a huge fan of the sweet potato puree it came with. They are known for their steaks so I sampled my party's steaks and they were all good! The prime rib was juicy and cooked perfectly. The grilled rib eye was also phenomenal, as well as the 3 cheese stuffed chicken. Next time I'll stick to steak 😋

Great service and delicious food! A perfect place for a date night or celebratory dinner, also great for a more upscale lunch option. Here are our families favorite items: - chicken lettuce wraps - steak nachos - avocado shrimp salad - Tommy’s meatloaf

Food had great flavor. A little too much pepper on the filet. Ordered medium rare and got medium. For the price, I expected the temperature of the meat to be correct. Waitress was very nice. Great attention without being intrusive. The atmosphere was nice at 5:30 pm when not many people had arrived yet, but as the main dining room filled up, it became very loud. My 88 yr young Aunt could not participate in the conversation because she could not hear.

My wife and I made reservations there because we had seen the restaurant many times but never went there for dinner. I'm glad we decided to go, it was one of the best restaurants we have ever dined at. I ordered steak and my wife the shrimp and lobster pasta. Both dishes were amazing. Our server Charlene was such a good host to. Highly recommend!!

This is easily the best steakhouse I personally have ever been to. Of course they offer pasta dishes, surf & turf, salads, and various appetizers as well. A whole list of appetizers. This steak was fantastic, and they serve it while it's still on fire! (Don't worry, they extinguish the flames right before they place it down for you.) Expect a calm classy atmosphere; it would be a great place to go on a date!

Restaurant
Located in Visalia, California, The Vintage Press Restaurante offers a unique dining experience with its multi-room setting adorned with antiques and leaded mirrors. Since 1966, the Vartanian family has been serving up innovative California cuisine. Guests can choose from various rooms such as the Fundamental Room, Garden Room, Savoy Room, and Rose Room - each offering a distinct ambiance.
Stepping into Vintage Press on New Year's Eve was like entering a timeless world. The piano's gentle melody wove through the warm amber glow, instantly whisking me away from the ordinary. Mahogany gleamed, stained glass whispered stories, and the air buzzed with anticipation. My red eye coffee, a jolt of excitement, joined the clinking of champagne flutes as I watched my tribe dive into their festive cocktails. The appetizers were a symphony of flavor: Chile Riano, and wild mushrooms puff pastry. A crisp wedge salad and steaming soup cleared the palate for the main event. My prime rib, a blushing masterpiece, and my wife's perfectly seared New York steak were odes to culinary artistry. Every bite was a celebration, a victory lap of good food and good company. But Vintage Press is more than just a culinary triumph. It's a haven for memories. The staff, warm and attentive, danced around us like friendly spirits. The owners, their passion shining in their eyes, treated us like honored guests in their grand, historic home. As midnight chimed, surrounded by laughter and clinking glasses, I knew this wasn't just another New Year's Eve. It was a night etched in my soul, a testament to the magic that unfolds within the walls of Vintage Press. And I, for one, can't wait to return and raise another toast to this Central Valley gem. I ordered the pistachio crusted salmon , mushroom puff pastry , and the meatloaf . The meatloaf was under seasoned and everything was cooked perfectly tho. The presentation was perfect as well . The service was attentive and friendly . Francesca was my server . She’s amazing and so was the hostess . I live the ambience of the room for the bar !

Excellent brunch experience overall. The cassoulet we were told is a new dish and it was and was solid; I might just remove the sausage, which was sweet for the dish. We also had the steak and eggs and the open-face omelet, which we enjoyed. The mushroom puff pastry grew on us and by the last bite we loved it. The bread and fruit tree was excellent. Ripe fruit and some of the breads were outstanding, the standout bring the cinnamon roll; the pistachio butter also was outstanding. The drinks and cocktails were all very good. The service was excellent. Our main critique is that we wish we had been given the option on resy to reserve an outside table. Being out of town we didn't know differently; some insight would have been really nice. But still we were impressed.

The server was so nice and welcoming! We tried the poblano duxelle was really good and not spicy at all. I got a Cobb salad which was super refreshing and flavorful. The server brought out a candle for my birthday and I also had the tart for desert. Best meal of my life!

(ZERO STARS: FLY IN MY FOOD!!) Came here for my father's birthday on July 26th 2023. We had a reservation for 7pm, walking in about 5 minutes early. We waited 2 hours for our food on a Wednesday, the restaurant was nearly empty. They gave us sides that weren't listed on the menu with their entrees. It was as though they did not think we would notice or had read the descriptions. When we asked about those sides, that was when she finally informed us that they had run out of almost everything. Clearly they were hoping we wouldn't notice that nothing on our plate was to the menu's specifications. Nonetheless, we started to eat as we were very hungry. My grandmother quickly realized her steak was prepared rare when she had ordered well done. However, she decided not to send it back because we did not want to wait. Our waitress did not ask us one time to see how our food was. It wasn't until I found a literal fly in my food that she came back to recite a near non-existent apology (terrible service). She did not even take the plate (the one with the fly in it) out from in front of me until I asked her to. They were NOT apologetic, and only offered us free desserts. Who would want free desserts from a restaurant that gave me a fly in my food? We declined the offer, deciding to leave instead. The owner of Vintage Press refused to speak with us. We drove over an hour to come to this restaurant. Moral of the story: DO NOT come here. Take your money elsewhere and don't look back! Unless you want poor service and chicken with a side of flies. Disgusting.

I cannot recommend this restaurant highly enough! We took our clients here for a business lunch. The location is conveniently located, has plentiful parking, great ambiance, and delicious food. What sets them apart is their service. Our server, Francesca, was knowledgeable and attentive - but Katie really went above and beyond by mailing me my credit card that I accidently forgot in the restaurant. Vintage Press did literally everything right from start to finish! GREAT spot!

First, the food and service is excellent. However if you’re looking for a truly “fine” dining experience this is not the place to go. It was loud and the dress was very casual (people wearing baseball caps). I realize people should be able to dress as they please but with so many dining areas it would be nice to have a room reserved for people wanting a more intimate and quiet atmosphere. I was expecting it to be a bit more elegant.

Charming, old school ambiance. Very expensive for having to bus our own table. Fresh oysters were fantastic. Grill sea bass was over done. Not enough salad dressing on wedge.

Had a special birthday celebration for two friends who share the same birthday week. Drinks & food were super scrumptious, service was very attentive. I would have enjoyed being able to listen to the pianist but we were put in another section but we were able to hear our conversations which was nice.

This place is a gem in Visalia. Classy, with extreme attention to customer satisfaction. Their Grand Marnier cake is exceptional bar none! So much so, that I ordered a full size cake to take to my MIL's place for Mother's Day. People were going for seconds and the car ride there was glorious from the aroma rising from the cake. I wish I had taken a picture of the cake before cutting it so I could post it. My husband and his dad now want the same cake for Father's Day.

Definitely the place to go if you're looking for a romantic dinner. Service was outstanding, food was delicious, dessert was definitely memorable. A bit on the pricey side but worth it. Highly recommend.

The foods are always great and well presented and great pairing, doesn't matter which dishes one ordered. Home made sherbert is awesome. We have never had any bad foods. The chef take great pride as well as the owner and staffs. Definitely a place to go for great foods. Prices reflect great foods, well worth it.
