History Museums
Geronimo Springs Museum, located in Truth or Consequences, New Mexico, is a must-visit venue for those interested in the area's rich history. The museum showcases a diverse collection of artifacts including fossils, arrowheads, and items from the Apache culture. Visitors can explore a recreated miner's cabin and learn about New Mexico's early mining industry. The museum also features an impressive display of Southwestern pottery dating back to 200 A.D.
Take your time and enjoy the History. Very nice displays and enjoyed the beautiful florescent rock room.

Very nice museum with a wealth of information and artifacts surrounding the areas history and pre-history. We enjoyed our visit.
Reed Leverton — Google review
I came here to look for a book in the gift shop. I found the book I wanted, and another one. The gift shop is in front of the museum, so you can shop without paying the admission fee. There are lots of books and locally made items in the gift shop. I also picked up a few free postcards there. The postcards advertise the museum. The free postcards are nice, sturdy, with interesting photos. I came to this museum years ago to look at the exhibits. I remember there was a lot of stuff packed into this museum.
Cee Gee — Google review
What an amazing curation of history! The cost was $5/person and we spent a good hour and a half wandering through the museum, and could have easily doubled that time with the amount of items to look at and stories to read through. For a small town the collection, largely pieced together and donated by the community, is very impressive. I also really enjoyed the gentlemen working at the front counter. His whole demeanor was such a great energy to experience and we enjoyed a nice conversation with him before we left.
Nicole Zelazny — Google review
Great history of the area and local memorabilia. Much larger than it appears from outside or the website. Plus had a group family rate for $15 for all of us.
Joe Harris — Google review
If you are in T or C you have to go to this museum!! Has so much history from the conquista and Oñate coming to new mexico. To why the name of this little town. Has bones from a mammoth and rock from all over new mexico. Book that talk abou the treasures of Francisco Villa and the Spaniards as well. Very cool experience. A lot of this stuff was donated by locals and has a little piece of their hearts. Stop by and support the locals.
Nahum Morales — Google review
I visited this museum while on vacation last year in New Mexico. My friend and I spent an hour or so looking at all the exhibits. The museum is surprisingly expansive and they have many artifacts and informative displays. This is a must visit place for tourists visiting the area to learn more about the history of this region of New Mexico. The staff member at the museum also was very nice and gave additional information on the museum. I enjoyed my visit a lot.

Excellent museum! Very gracious hosts! And they had these little Sombreros!

Very interesting and charming. I loved all the nick nacks and the relaxing atmosphere

Wonderful place. The amount of history in this museum is outstanding. Family of six here and our children loved it. It’s never ending. For a private run museum I rank it over public museums any day. The Staff are incredible. We need to take a few more trips just to learn more.
Marty Stancil — Google review
AMAZING museum full of info about the history of this area, along with the history of a great Apache warrior, Geronimo. Price of admission is worth every penny. $5.00 for seniors. 😊
Denise Diltz — Google review
This is a larger than it looks, small town historical museum. It is not pet friendly. Jasper the Adventure Dog is my trained service dog. The history of Truth or Consequences is well displayed with numerous other interesting items.
James Blanchard — Google review
Have driven by the museum, various times. On this outing, decided to visit. The stop was well worth it. Harold was very knowledgeable and engaging. Was surprised by how many displays there are. Very nice that Veterans are given courtesy and free admission.
Robert E — Google review
My husband and I had a great experience, the museum was amazing and the lady at the desk was so knowledgeable and friendly. Will definitely go back. They have some amazing historical pieces and so many cool rooms.
Jessica D — Google review
Small museum, but it has a variety of exhibits. I was very impressed by the collection of ancient native American artifacts. There were many restored pieces of pottery and arrowhead collections. Very well worth the small admittance fee, and helps you understand some of the history of the area.
Doc Turner — Google review
This is a great historical museum. I think it does justice to indigenous people, but what do I know? The docent was super nice and knowledgeable. We bought a few books an souvenirs. It is a large museum, give several hours to study all the exhibits. SUPER!

I was shocked! My visit here was amazing. I went with my family and didn’t expect it to be big. The staff was very nice and helpful. We felt very welcomed. Will definitely come back to see what else they have added!

Calm and clean. Easy parking and easy to find. We did the private soak. Everyone was super sweet but after you check in you’re left alone. All the other guests were very respect of their volume. We felt like the only ones there! Super clean, and they have everything you need if you forget something at really reasonable rent prices. We brought pillows for the lounge chairs and next time I’ll bring a plastic water bottle because I had to work to make sure my metal one didn’t make noise. The wildlife on the Rio is even so amazing! Can’t recommend enough.
Scout Campos — Google review
The pools were beautiful, natural, and sparkling clean. The temperatures varied in each pool and there was also a cold shower. Calm music was playing and beautiful plants and sunshine surrounded us. There were comfortable places to sit and lounge in both the shade or sun. They offered free tea as well and all of the guests were quiet and respectful. I appreciated everything about this restoring experience and we will be returning. One of my most positive and enjoyable hot springs experience for sure!
Meghan Donohue — Google review
If you are trying to relax in hot springs and get away for a bit this is the perfect place! Riberbend is just beautiful, the rooms were perfect and clean, the pools were very nice and hot and the view of the river and Mountains its stunning. I been in a few hot spring and this one its so nice and relaxing. Staff was so helpful and the privet pools were really nice as well. Make sure you book in advance since this rooms fill up quickly.
Nahum Morales — Google review
Everyone was extremely friendly and the place is very clean and beautiful! Many different pools and different temperatures so you can find the one you enjoy. Bonus is cool water shower stations so you can cool off and continue in the mineral water experience comfortably. We did not stay there overnight so I can't comment on the rooms, but we are going back again for another experience. Highly recommend!!!
Misty McMullen — Google review
Only went for a 1 hr soak. Very relaxing experience. The people next door were really noisy, so I did report it, and they quickly came to let them know to keep it down. Keep in mind that there are a lot of signs that say it is a quiet zone and only whisper beyond a certain point. It is a place to relax in the quiet, not play around, lol
Briana Carbajal — Google review
We absolutely loved our stay! We had never been, so were not sure what to expect, but it was amazing. The front desk employees were extremely nice and helpful. The room was so clean., as was the whole property. We loved the outside kitchen with hot tea options all day. The quietness really gave us a chance to quiet our minds and meditate. A few people would start to get loud, and we loved that the employees occasionally walked by and would remind people to keep it down. I am especially grateful for the price. I can not express how appreciative my husband and I were about the price. We have four boys and life is expensive, but to be able to go somewhere like this and not break the bank, it’s just amazing!! In just the few hours from our departure, we have already began to recommend to all our family and friends. Thank you Riverbend Hot Springs from the bottom of our hearts, The Orozco’s
Rosa Orozco — Google review
We love to travel via hot springs and our stay at Riverbend was outstanding. It's clear they are committed to having clean well maintained pools and environment. With an outdoor kitchen with high quality amenities to seating areas, hammocks, shade, a sauna and more. The pools were great and even though there was a steady stream of people it was never crowded. We camped with a camp trailer and all the hookups were clean and functioned perfectly. We'll be back for sure.
John Roethlein — Google review
Finally was able to get a reservation for a trip in January! This place is always booked and it's easy to see why. Their staff is knowledgeable, highly trained in great customer service and the place itself is spotless. Had a private soak as well as a spot in the public pools and both experiences were their own wonderful thing. Soaking while under the stars, a full moon, and owls flying overhead was magical. Luckily, I was able to leave right before their rush - 7pm on a Friday night. So many people coming in as I left, so be warned, if you want a quieter experience, ask them about their non-peak hours. :)
Maria Rodriguez — Google review
What a wonderful experience!!! Check in was really easy, Cinda was very helpful and informative! The room was awesome- we stayed in one of the king suites and it was beautiful. Great kitchen space, comfortable bed and cozy bathroom!! The baths were beyond anything I could have asked for- loved the tranquil music playing throughout. The hammock in the main pool was my favorite. Spent a few hours lounging in the submerged hammock to the point I fell asleep several times. Minnow was the highlight of the trip, making sure we were enjoying ourselves and setting an example of how to take it slow and relax!
Danielle Perinn — Google review
We love this place and can't wait to come back. Right on the river, it's beautiful and serene. The atmosphere is super chill and the tubs are fantastic. The whole place is beautifully landscaped and a little piece of paradise in T or C. The group hang out area is very accomodating with sinks, microwave and grill and is a lovely place to enjoy some food and drink. Staff were friendly and helpful. Resident kitty, Minnow adds to the charm. My only suggestion is to add a hairdryer to each room.
Judith Gabriele — Google review
So relaxing! Clean and inviting. Great atmosphere. Absolutely love the outside kitchen area with a gas grill! The view at night, with the soft lighting around the pools and lights reflecting on the trees across the river is wonderful. Helpful staff.
Gloria Hill — Google review
This was my first time here. It was nice to have a secluded private place to relax. The water was very warm, so I could only sit in it for about 8 to 10 minutes at a time. It had a nice view of the river and the cost was not too expensive. I'd recommend every give it a try sometime if you're looking for something new to try.
john unger — Google review
Our idea of paradise! My wife and I just finished a wonderful 3 night stay in one of the Courtyard Suites, and reached the relaxation levels we’d hoped for. The happy Zen vibe is everywhere, the music, the lights, the meticulous ornamentation, etc. Wonderful staff, we’ve stayed on other occasions, and never been disappointed. We already are planning our next visit.
Todd I — Google review
Great experience, we stayed in one of their RV spots and were able to get a spot without reservations. My wife and I went for a soak the evening we arrived then again the next morning. Cool thing about staying there is that you can soak as long as the community pools are open. The place is amazing, overlooking the river and we watched a full moon rise over the mountains while soaking, just fabulous. The staff was great and the other guests are so diverse and interesting. We met some cool folks while soaking. If you like hot springs, you should check them out. They also have private tubs that my wife and I have enjoyed on other visits.
Eric Forstrom — Google review
Great experience! The historic courtyard rooms have modern features but retain the old time charm. And there are larger rentals and rv spaces to accommodate all options. The surroundings have lovely murals and paintings of desert wildlife and wildflowers. The pools are nicely spaced and you can look out at the river and watch great blue herons, egrets and ospreys travel up and down the river as the sun goes down. Wonderful.
Russ and Tracy — Google review
What’s not to love! We had an amazing stay at this resort. The hot springs location is a perfect balance of natural environment and comfortable amenities. We appreciated being able to bring our small dog along. It was a highlight of our road trip to witness the total solar eclipse. We hope to make the journey back to this great spot on the Rio Grande.
D Hayden — Google review
Enjoyed our stay here. Probably the nicest place in town. Single queen bedroom was small, yet clean and comfortable. The staff was courteous and competent. The main attraction is definitely the hot springs pools and patio area (which includes a dry sauna and outdoor bar). Nighttime soaks were the best with the extraordinary lighting and landscaping, although daytime views of the river and surrounding mountains is a close second. Priced a little on the high side, but worth it.
Derek Storm — Google review
Great experience! The location is so beautifully decorated with local art. The atmosphere is very serene and calming, exactly what you'd want when you're relaxing in the hot springs. My bf and I rented a private pool and it was wonderful. Made our time there special and intimate. Place was very clean and quiet. Definitely going back!
Alejandra Salazar — Google review
This is the most relaxing place ever! I am so grateful for the opportunity to visit such a magical place. The attention to detail is so beautiful; you can feel the love put into creating this sanctuary. One really feels relaxed and rejuvenated after having spent some time here. It literally refuels the batteries of body mind and spirit. I feel like a brand new person after visiting here! We have already booked our next visit to keep our energy fresh!
Christina Kinner — Google review
My boyfriend and I stayed here September of 2022 for two nights. As cat lovers, we were pleasantly surprised to find that the hot springs has a beautiful resident cat, Minnow, which they've even dedicated one of the pools to. Waking up to Minnow outside our front door every morning just made the place better. Overall, we loved our stay. Not many people at all and the hot springs pools are right down by the river. They were so relaxing and the hammocks in the last pool were nice too. Everyone was very respectful and the staff were very helpful. The rooms are very nice for the price and the full kitchen was especially great. We'd definitely recommend this place if you're visiting and we'd definitely come back should we find ourselves in the area.
Angela Payne — Google review
Very fun little treat. With a view of the Rio Grande and the mountains you can't beat it. They keep it fresh and clean. The 50 minutes is perfect. They even have showers and a bathroom at the ready. Came for the Chili Challenge 4x4 event and end with a hot bath and a cold brew up the street. Can't ask for much more.
Rich Johnson — Google review
We used the private pools: This was an amazing stop in T-or-C. We really enjoyed our time. The water was nice and hot, the mist option and water bucket were used and absolutely loved. The view was absolutely beautiful. Staff was understanding about rescheduling and were very pleasant over the phone. The pricing was great too! Thank you.
Christine Dobrivska — Google review
We booked a private Hot Springs soaking tub room for the PM for New Years Eve. The online reservation was easy. It was really enjoyable and relaxing with the crisp air outside. The temperature of the water was perfect as was the lighting and low music. Was the perfect way to end a day of adventure and 2023. Information about parking was a little confusing as it gave a Lot #10 which when I came to the window to inquire the girl said you just park anywhere. Overall Great Experience
Denise Jordan — Google review
What an impressive place. The pools, both private and public are clean and dripping with creativity. We have been here in the daytime and also at night. The private pools are a fantastic clothing optional option with assured privacy but great scenery.
K. Lavin — Google review
Cute rooms, love the table and chairs on the decks outside of each one. Hot springs are magnificent. All adults when I went. Very quiet and relaxing. Right on the rivers edge, just gorgeous. Can't wait to return!! You can walk to pretty much everything you need
Kimberle Salter — Google review
We are regulars to the spa, as it has been the only one who offers scenic views, good pricing, and clean areas, but above all… how relaxing it was to be here and spend hours away from our hectic lives. This last time we went, our perception did change and we’re not sure that it’s worth driving hours for a spa that does not enforce a whisper policy anymore. To us this was probably the most important. We sent a complaint through text to try to be more discrete about people literally carrying conversations so loud, turning the spa into nothing else more than just a public pool. Additionally, we got asked two times to take pictures of others. It was everything but relaxing, and when we finally took our thoughts to the front desk, for one, she never responded, and secondly when I went to the front desk, she was quite rude about it. The employee told me that it’s not enforced to be whispering anymore, and if I had a problem with it, to get a private soak instead. I truly hope our concerns make a difference being that we have been coming back to this place for years and recommending it to many others. It never fell short of our expectations until this last time.
Dee C — Google review
This place has a specific issue(for me, not everyone) that will not have me coming back here. They take being quiet very seriously. Within 30 minutes of being there, my group of 6 got asked to be quiet and we were doing nothing more than talking. It happened again the next day but they told every single pool to be quiet. Look, we are all there to relax. But they are over the top about it and it really ruined our friend vacation that we couldn't even talk to each other for the weekend. If you want a silent getaway, this is for you. If you want to talk to people in your group, I would pick another place to go.
Andrew McGibbon — Google review
We absolutely loved the one precious hour we spent in your calming, relaxing and tranquil space. We loved the fact that all the guests were very respectful of each others' personal space and tranquility. Thank you for providing this wonderful facility in an absolutely beautiful location on the bend of the Rio Grande river Keep up the great work.
Marie Smith — Google review
Our first time visiting the area. We thoroughly enjoyed our soak after a day of hiking. The private tub was perfect! Clean, peaceful and calming. We will definitely be back. Thanks to everyone who makes the experience possible😊
Judy Bubolz — Google review
One of my all time favorite places to stay. The town that surrounds this little gem, is very artistically focused and quaint. The resort is the perfect place to let the stress of the world wash away! Me and my boyfriend loved the different baths available, especially since I like to boil like a lobster and he likes to be comfortably warm. We were able to completely relax and just be. The environment is quiet with relaxing music playing, you can hear the wind blow and the views are unforgettable! We opted to stay here on our road trip and it was an experience like no other! We are hooked. I can’t wait to return!
Kasey Pierce — Google review
Absolutely stunning. We booked the hour long private soak and had the most relaxing time. The private tub was clean, with chairs and hooks for your items. The water was crystal clear and hot, and the view of the Rio Grande was spectacular with mountains towering beyond. An absolute must. They rent towels and robes if needed. We stopped spontaneously on our road trip and I’m glad we did.

The future is here!!! Final Frontier Tours gives an unbelievable tour of Spaceport America in New Mexico. There are many companies located in this facility setting the pace to horizontal/vertical take off. If you are looking for a unique tour and if space, airplanes, drones and/or technology are of interest, this is a must. Fly into Las Cruces, NM, and connect with Curtis at Final Frontiers Tours. Curtis and Chris were our guides and their knowledge and passion surpassed our expectations and set the stage for an incredible experience! Can’t say enough about the tour we were blessed to experience🤩

Nice place to visit , this is my second visit , first time when they first opened, don’t expect staff inside like they had before , the visitor center is running the whole building, staff at visitor center was very nice though, got nice stickers for my visit and purchased a spaceport sticker , worth seeing for free , although I donated a little to visitor center, thank you!

There's really not much at the visitor center but this is where the tour shuttle departs. There is some information here and you can buy some souvenirs.

A little hard to find but worth going out there. They have tours on weekend but you have get info on line and sign up.

We booked the tour for the space center that leaves every Saturday from Truth or Consequences. The visitor's center: Friendly and knowledgeable service with great tips about Truth or Consequences. The Tour: Curtis and Chris gave us an upbeat tour full of many interesting facts; not just about the space center, but about New Mexico as well. These two guys were personable, knowledgeable, intelligent, and went out of their way to make sure we had a good time.
Chris Johnson — Google review
The staff in this center is very helpful, friendly, and will even stay a bit after publicized hours if the tour bus is running late on return so that people may use the restroom. But the 5* is mainly about the Spaceport tour, which is amazing! Highly recommend doing the weekend tour.
Jeff Hughes — Google review
Alright for the novice space enthusiast, but inaccurate information spoiled the trip for me. The center insists that SpaceX completed Falcon 9 Grasshopper testing at Spaceport America - but SpaceX never launched a single F9 test from New Mexico. All F9 dev testing took place in McGregor, TX.
Rajan Phadnis — Google review
I might give a good review once I can actually find the place. There are absolutely no signs in the city of T or C that will guide you to the visitors center. When we stopped and asked for directions, the "helpful" person at the gas station gave us directions to the spaceport itself, which ended up to be a trip of about 25 miles, eleven cattle guards, a right turn in someone's ranch yard, then a few more miles until we got to the gate, where we were turned around by a bemused guard who informed us that the visitors center was actually back in the city. Trying to get back to the highway, we hit another thirteen cattle guards and ten low water crossings, all but about five miles of it on washboarded dirt road. After another trip through T or C, we still haven't found it, and we're out of time and patience. Let us know when you guys put up some signs.

Sierra Grande Lodge & Spa is a historic hot-springs lodging and spa offering tranquil rooms, private indoor, and outdoor mineral pools. The area has a rich history dating back to the time of Indigenous tribes like the Mimbres people who considered it a sacred neutral healing ground. Visitors can enjoy a full-service experience at the hot springs with well-managed tubs and attentive staff providing aromatherapy and calm music. The rooms are comfortable, featuring large and clean tubs for relaxation.
Great pool, Staff we're very friendly, smiling and helpful. I also got a massage along with the soak. 90 minutes, she did a great job, relaxing yet enough pressure to work out the knots. All for under $150. Great price for all of that!
Victoria Bottles — Google review
We were driving through and decided to take a chance to see if they had any rooms available. Lucky for us they did. We've been coming here for over 15 years and it's the only place we enjoy for taking in the healing waters. The breakfast is always good and a soak before we hit the road again is what we needed. The staff is excellent.

Our favorite spa hotel in T or C. Close to downtown and restaurants. Breakfast included plus one soak per day of stay (including check out day). All pools are private. Rooms could use a little updating. Staff are wonderful!
Nancy Risenhoover — Google review
Beautiful, well appointed rooms. We were on the second floor and there's no elevator, so if you need assistance with stairs, please be aware. There are also rooms on the first floor, but these include your own private mineral spring water soaking, so these go pretty fast. Great service. The "Continental" breakfast included a make-your-own breakfast burrito: tortillas, scrambled eggs, bacon, green chili and cheese, in addition to assorted muffins, granola and yogurt, fruit, and a selection of juices. Restful, simple, & classy soaking areas inside and out. It was a wonderful weekend and I'll definitely be returning.

What a great casual setting for a romantic getaway! The rooms are very clean and tidy and the staff is wonderful. The mineral baths are relaxing and the couples massage is highly recommended. There are great photographs and maps throughout! Go, relax and enjoy!

We made reservations for brunch for eight of us! Our table was outside on the patio, at a large round table which provided for great conversation. Our wait person, Stephanie, was so very fun and personable, and provided the very best of service! Great food selections, and mimosas! I would highly recommend the restaurant.

Had a one night stay on a monday and had a late check in. Night staff was very polite and helpful and kept a very nice atmosphere with aromatherapy and calm music. The hot springs tubs included with stay were very well managed- this is a full service experience compared to other another local hot springs we have visited. They fill the tub for you and even go as far as including a pitcher of ice water for you to drink while in the tub. The room was nice and the tub in the room was large and clean. Would definitely recommend. Thanks for having us

A place for physical and mental renewal As a senior adult, I’ve stayed in a lifetime of hotels…but have never experienced the level of courtesy and positivity as the Sierra Grande Lodge staff has given me this weekend. The lodge is peaceful…and comfortably furnished, with refreshing outdoor seating areas, as well. A tasty full breakfast is served…eggs topped with cheese and green chile, smoked bacon, breads and giant muffins, varieties of fruit and oatmeal. Topping it all off is the inclusion of private soaks each day for all guests! The outdoor mineral soaking pool we enjoyed was tranquil and beautifully designed. We’ll most definitely return to this oasis retreat

I loved this place. We were tired after a long day of driving and it was like sinking into a hot bath on a cold day. Actually, that's exactly what it was because we had a soaking tub in the room. Very relaxing. Kind staff. And the town is a fantastic place to stopover.

Great little hotel tied to Ted Turner’s properties. Not the cheapest lodging but when you want a little “je ne sais quoi” in Truth or Consequences 😎. It had a great breakfast prior to Covid but unknown if they are back in 2023.

Booked an event at the conference center and it was well worth it! The space was great with a beautiful view, food was delicious, staff was very friendly and attentive, and the event coordinator was very helpful. We traveled here as a group of five and the lodge was simply impeccable. Charming, friendly, and exuding warmth. The staff couldn’t be more helpful and the communication is great. The soaking experience is the top we’ve been to. Highly recommended.

This is definitely the place to go for a TorC mineral bath/hot spring experience. Their decoration is as timeless as the South West, and is worth every penny (and more --the spa treatments available are extremely adorable)! They serve an amazing brunch as well. I could not recommend Sierra Grande Lodge & Spa any higher!

A step back to a golden era when you enter Sierra Grande! Very welcoming, relaxing, clean and safe. They're hot pools, sauna a massage are amazing! Rooms are spacious, clean and comfortable. No elevator, but an amazing array for breakfast! Staff was polite, friendly and focused on guest. Great location. Keep up the good work. We especially love the vintage photos of Sierra Grande from scores of years ago.

Our stay was so relaxing and great! The staff was amazing and very tentative, we’ll definitely be staying again . The hot springs were amazing and perfectly set I would definitely recommend the outdoor tub if you’re going in the winter !

We were traveling and so excited to be there after reading all the good reviews. The girl that checked us in and the front desk girl when we checked out were both un friendly. I would have been happy with at minimum a smile. The soak was barely warm which was the biggest bummer. Room was cute and comfy. Outdoor zen areas are so peaceful.

The Geronimo Trail National Scenic Byway Visitor Center is a must-visit in Sierra County, New Mexico. It's home to the Spaceport America Visitors Center, where you can explore videos, signage, and hands-on activities related to space travel. The center also offers maps, brochures, and information on local attractions and amenities. Additionally, it serves as the departure point for tours of Spaceport America.
This visitor center is really cool and helpful. Here you can learn about things to do in Truth or Consequences, Sierra County, lots of other places in New Mexico, and Spaceport America. There are also a small number of souvenirs available for purchase here, both Truth or Consequences souvenirs and Spaceport America souvenirs. There are postcards for sale here for $1 each. There are also books about New Mexico, Sierra County, and Truth or Consequences history available for purchase here. There were free brochures and tourist info booklets for many places in New Mexico such as Taos, Lincoln National Forest, Roswell, Elephant Butte, Los Alamos, Albuquerque, and Alamogordo. And of course there was lots of info about what to see, do, and eat in Truth or Consequences. The lady working was really nice and helpful and gladly answered our questions. I highly recommend making this your first stop when you roll into Truth or Consequences.

I found Hillsboro and Emory Pass to be very interesting and beautiful. Please see the pictures I have posted. Lunch at the General Store Cafe in Hillsboro was excellent. Grand cottonwoods grace Main Street. The drive through Emory Pass was exciting.

Fast food restaurant
A traditional downtown drive-in eatery, A & B Drive In offers a wide variety of classic American fare, including burgers, shakes, tacos, enchiladas, burritos, BLTs and shaved ice. The restaurant operates from 10am to 8:45pm on Mondays to Wednesdays and from 10am to 9pm on Thursdays to Saturdays. On Sundays, it opens at 11am and closes at 6:30pm.
Visiting from SE. Tennessee & wanted to try local Mexican. I got Carne Asada Burrito & my husband got chicken burrito supreme. Both excellent. Mild flavors & freshly cooked

Food is good, nothing great. They have a large menu, so if options are important then check them out! Chile isn’t their specialty, but the Chimichangas are on point. If greasy (in a good way) is what you’re going for and craving then you’re at the right place! It’s a fun place to sit outside with friends and family and enjoy your food and ice cream! Their malts are the best, can’t say much about the other sweet treats. The service not so great, or friendly, but they are always busy and focused on getting orders out quick. Prices are fair. If you’re in a rush then I recommend stopping in or going through the drive through.

Been here multiple times and it's always a disappointment. Chicken in the tacos I get is flavorless and lots of fat in the meat, also seems like it's just been sorta sitting out. Rice is watery. Chicken tenders are dry and slightly uncooked. They nearly always get the order wrong. Owner is incredibly rude when taking order, acting like I am bothering him. I thought maybe he was having a bad day the first time but he's like that every time and because of that, today was the last time I'll be going there. I do hope for a change, as I used to love going when there was a cook that did an amazing job on the food and when there were kind employees taking orders, but it's been a few months since then. Place is also pricey, used to be worth it. 🤷‍♀️

Great food... Meal took quite awhile (almost 45 minutes) for a couple of burgers, a fish sandwich, and a grilled cheese sandwich... I understand that they are short staffed, but we saw others order after us and ate and were gone before we got our food. Most likely just an oversight on the order... We'll still come back next time we are in town as the food was worth the wait.
Eric Radosevich — Google review
We got the cheese burgers and they were dry, burnt and old. The tots were old too, like they had cooked them over and over and over. That's the way the extra thin patties on the burnt buns were also...cooked over and over and over. Don't trust the prices on the Web site or the menu on the drive in wall, it's a lie. My tots were supposed to be 3.00, but they charged me 8.95. it was a rip off. Needless to say, we couldn't eat it.
Jeannette Pope — Google review
Can seem a little pricey, but it is always hot and delicious! I prefer a local shop over national/international chains and this place is worth it! Variety of food, including classic Americana and Mexican. Sometimes the wait can be a little long, but once again, totally worth it. Unlike the other drive thrus in town, my food has always been hot 🔥
magda jeanne — Google review
They're usually pretty amazing but once in a while you'll get a burger that's been sitting around for a while. The menu is kind of big, so they're better at some things than others. The combo is an excellent choice along with the burgers. I'd avoid the cheese steak and barbecue sandwiches. Get a shake even if you don't think you want one. You'll be glad you did.
Andrew Auten — Google review
-The burgers were excellent. -The service was a bit slow with so many customers all at once. -The outdoor table seating was like a very nice picnic. You could also eat inside if you prefer.

Wonderful people, the food was great a my favorites were the breakfast burrito and the chicken burrito with red chillies. Pricing is great the whole atmosphere makes you feel like you're sitting back in time and getting a really good meal!

Delicious burgers, sandwiches, and Mexican food. This is a drive-up with some picnic tables out front and a drive through. Order at the window if you want to eat in your car and people-watch at the location. Family owned and run for a long time.

Been coming here all my life, always great food and great family and amazing service, every time I’m in town I get my bean and cheese burrito, I also LOVE their milkshakes (more than sonic or McDonald’s) and their green chili cheeseburgers are a classic

A & B Always serves great food. We do have our favorites , the zucchini sticks are great , we always order those, with our meal. Everything is fresh, hot and good quality. Service was great also. We didn't have to wait long for our food. You can call your order in and pick it up and it's ready right away, you can also order in your car at the window or walk in and order your food. . I would recommend going to eat at A & B Drive-in.

Restaurant
La Cocina, a renowned eatery in Southern New Mexico since 1965, has been recognized as a cherished gem by the New Mexico Department of Tourism. Operating from 11am to 9pm on Sundays through Thursdays and until 9:30pm on Fridays and Saturdays, this Mexican restaurant offers delectable American cuisine, ensuring that patrons don't have to venture far for their desired flavors. The establishment's warm hospitality coupled with its picturesque surroundings make for an extraordinary dining experience.
Love the location and the scenery. We had to wait a little bit as apparently they were slightly short-staffed. Food was good we had American food even though it was a Mexican restaurant just didn't want to have to travel further today. Very pleasant customer service. Very unique experience. PS we saw their sopapillas just too tired to get it they were huge and looked good.
Valerie Dale — Google review
Our go-to Mexican restaurant is Tony's, but they were closed today, so we thought we'd try La Cocina. We haven't eaten there since it first opened at their current location years ago. We were greeted with a sewer smell as we walked in the door. As we left we found the smell was coming from the restrooms, which are located right behind the front desk, so that explains that. We can't eat cilantro, so when they brought the salsa and chips I told them we'd skip the salsa but they had salsa without cilantro, so that was nice. My wife had the chicken soft taco plate. It was good, but she was not a fan of the rice. I had the ultimate enchilada plate. It was also good, but I also thought the rice was lacking. It's easy to see that the whole place needs to be renovated as the carpet was very dirty, the paint was chipped and the decorative tiles on the tables have seen better days. The service was great from the host to our server Jeanette, who was very nice. We thought it was a bit pricey for the less than stellar ambience. If/when they ever renovated we might give them another try, but until then we'll stay with Tony's.

We stayed in a nearby hotel and looked this place up. We were skeptical with the reviews. I will tell you without a doubt the reviews are wrong! The food was some of the best we have ever had. Hands down. All 3 if us seek out Mexican whenever we can. This was easily in the top 2% of all the Mexican food we've had allover the southwest. Our server John is the alltime BEST server we have ever had in our 44 years of life. I would recommend this place and if you can ask for John you won't be disappointed in my opinion.

This place has the best food I've eaten in Truth or Consequences! I went here with a friend for dinner. It was a Wednesday night and not very busy. We were seated right away. We were given chips and salsa to munch on. Our server was attentive but not overbearing. My friend got a burrito. I opted for the ultimate enchiladas. The portions were huge. We both ate plenty and brought home at least ⅓ of the food on our plates. The food was really tasty. My ultimate enchiladas plate included black beans and refried beans and really good rice. Unfortunately, we were too stuffed to eat dessert. I'm thinking of going back here for my birthday dinner. Why didn't I eat here sooner?

Great atmosphere, good service and delicious food! And definitely not Utah margaritas!!! We enjoyed the tamales and beef fajitas. The salsa has a great kick!! We enjoyed our dinner.

This place has been around for a while. We refer to it as the Mexican restaurant on the hill. This is my go-to place for dinner. I have yet in the many years I have gone there to finish the ultimate enchilada, atacked 4 high with rice, beans and quacamole. It's very tasty with the right amount of spice to it. The place is always busy.
Joe Vega — Google review
First thing is first THIS IS NOT TEX-MEX OR MEXICAN!! Ignore reviews calling it that. I asked my boyfriend to leave as soon as i saw salsa but he insisted we give them a chance and order. Born and raised texan, this is just straight trash. The salsa was tomato soup no flavor obviously made with 3 ingredients, tomatoes, green onion, onion. Thats Not salsa, they had no cilantro in the restaurant so like big clue there. They asked if i wanted an egg on my enchiladas. No no i dont want to ruin food. Little did i know it was already ruined. I had the margaritas, they might be house made but for almost 10$ after tax they should have alcohol in them, and THEY DONT! The menu stated cheese enchilada I was not told when i was asked what chili i would like that they would put it on my food. Its disgusting, and has no flavor, ground beef tacos had no seasoning, and the meat was brown, if u make Mexican food u know meat comes out red when seasoned correctly, rice was supposed to be Mexican rice it was white, should be red. Also im allergic to onions, why is it that they put chili on my food after knowing this. Idk whos in the kitchen but they need some cooking lessons with some seasonings. The stuff that did have flavor was just awful tasting. Would rather dip my toothbrush in a dogs water bowl then eat here again. Worst food of my life. Also why the world is ur hot sauce tabasco. Its called Cholula atleast pretend ur trying.
Joy Zimmer — Google review
The food was wonderful and our server was super friendly and attentive. When we expressed how much we liked their salsa and asked for to go containers to bring home the left over salsa we hadn't finished he brought us extra salsa to take home! The sopapillas were my favorite part of dinner! They were amazing and light and delicious with honey.

Service was excellent and friendly. Atmosphere was cozy, but not cramped. The temperature of the restaurant was pleasantly warm and not freezing. We were not rushed out. Just passing through: Food was excellent! Fresh. Green chili sauce had a bit of a kick, but excellent flavor! The tamale was well flavored and very large. The ground beef tacos had the perfect flavoring – not too plain and not too much. You could really get the flavor of the beef as well as the seasoning. We definitely gave our compliments to the kitchen!
HL Burback — Google review
Visiting from out of town and we have eaten here a few times and it was always decent. This time was sadly disappointing! The food was cold!! All of it! Took awhile for our food to come out. The tacos didn’t have much meat at all. I had to empty all of the meat into one taco. My husband’s enchiladas were also cold even the sides of chile were cold! They hardly had any meat as well. The corn tortillas didn’t seem to be cooked. The chips and salsa were the only things worth eating! Won’t be going back.
Roxanne Ramirez — Google review
This restaurant serves excellent Mexican food. We love there green chile. There burritos are the bomb. Always clean.
Reanae Charles — Google review
We were sat down. Had our order taken right away. 10 minutes went by. Another family sat down and immediately got their drinks. I thought nothing of it since it was a full of people. Another 15 minutes went by. I watched the waitress ask other tables for refills. Another 10 minutes went by. A family of 7 sat down and immediately got their drinks. At this point I look around and notice we are the only ones inside who are not white. My wife and I are so embarrassed. And do not recommend this place. We were here once before and didn’t like the food and wanted to give it another shot. Big mistake. I served this country for 8 years just to be treated in such an outdated traditional way

Happy to help bump up this business rating on Google. My husband and I took our family visiting from Europe here for lunch yesterday after soaking in the hot springs. They carry local Tumbleroot spirits and we ordered margaritas. We were greeted by friendly servers, and presented with chips and salsa and guacamole to start. I had chile relleno which was the best I've ever had, taquitos, rice, beans, chile. My husband had the top sirloin steak which was cooked perfectly and had loaded mashed potatoes with side salad. Another person in our group ordered fajitas, enchiladas, chicken strips and fries. We had plenty of drinks, food, etc. and bill was very reasonable at $170. Clean and warm ambiance and a true New Mexican experience.

Taco restaurant
Casa Taco offers an assortment of freshly prepared tacos, including fish, pork, shrimp, beef, and calabacitas. They also serve burritos, quesadillas, fried mushrooms, and desserts. The restaurant operates from 11 am to 9 pm on Mondays, Tuesdays, Thursdays, Fridays, and Saturdays; and from 11 am to 6 pm on Sundays. Customers have praised the exceptional quality of the food and the excellent service provided by the staff.
We were camping in the area, and needed a part for our trailer. On the way to the parts place, we saw Cass Taco. After we got the part, we stopped in for a late breakfast. Boy, was that the right decision. We chatted with the GM and learned about the history, while munching on excellent food (and a pre-lunch local beer). We will be back in the evening for more great food and live music!

I Was absolutely disgusted, and I will not be going back. Although the cashiers and servers did a great job, The food was not good. The taco shells where chewy, the beef was flavorless, and i had almost no lettuce cheese and tomato. The only thing edible was the rice the beans were flavorless. As a former employee who at one time loved to work there and loved the food. I haven't ate here for over a year, but I came back because I missed the food, and I was sorely disappointed and shocked. This place has unfortunately went down hill, and really needs to look into who their cooks are. I wish you luck your gonna need it.

Warmly greeted by the friendliest staff. Our food was prepared in short order. Enjoyed the green chili brisket tacos, absolutely a true taste treat. Chips and salsa were very good. Would highly recommend visiting. Staff has obvious pride in a product that demonstrates thier best effort and it clearly shows.
Mark Hay — Google review
These were the worst tacos I’ve ever eaten. The fish tasted like it was bad and had a smell to it. The shrimp was burned and incredibly salty. The calabacitas were flavorless mush. It seems like you swapped out seasoning and flavor for heat- I like my food to at least taste good if my mouth is going to be on fire. Corn tortillas were raw and soggy from the filling. The garbage cans are covered in dried old food and other goop, it was too disgusting to stick my hand in to throw out my garbage. The inside was dirty and covered in dust and grime which is concerning considering the open air food prep area. Left without finishing my food which was the real shame considering how expensive these awful tacos were.
kabryan968 — Google review
After fishing all day we gave them a chance and we purchased two of the carne asada plates. We paid like $35 and Del Taco has more meat in their mini burritos than these guys. The tortillas are huge it felt like we were eating all tortilla.Totally disappointed in this place. Go to one of the Mexican places in T Or C. You'll be happier.

While camping at the lake, we came by to grab some tacos and nachos to go. The restaurant was 5 minutes from our campsite so very convenient. I wish I'd taken photos as the tacos were filled to the brim with beef, crisp lettuce, ripe tomatoes, and flavorful cheese. The nachos were tasty with homemade chips and terrific beans. Our order came with a big side of homemade salsa, too. Really delicious. Very happy with everything.

My visit today was very nice. Great food , large variety on the menu and great service, no lines and no waiting long for food to be served. The employees are very nice and friendly. They've recently started serving breakfast starting at 7am. This is the only restaurant in town that serves breakfast. The dish I ordered I asked without meat only beans, they accepted to do this for me and gave me a discount on my meal, which made me extra happy. I've eaten here several times , and the food, the service and ambiance are Always great! I would recommend Casa Taco for anyone looking for a great place to eat, at anytime of the day. Really not very tasty, or interesting. Small portions of rice and beans served in separate containers. Atmosphere not appealing whatsoever, we probably should have walked out rather than going ahead and ordering, which you do at a counter before sitting. I would definitely not go back and would not recommend this restaurant.

Food is pretty good. They need to hire some kitchen help. It took forever to get our food. There were 4 couples & it took at least 20 minutes for each of us to get our order. One couple was over halfway done eating when the 2nd couple got their food & they were about halfway done before the 3rd couple got theirs... 😩 We went here last year & the service wasn't that bad. Hopefully they can hire more help soon because the food is good!!

Sunset Grill is a hidden treasure that offers delicious Mexican cuisine. Despite the challenge of finding Mexican food on a Sunday, this restaurant came to the rescue and provided amazing dishes. The attentive waitress single-handedly managed the entire establishment with exceptional efficiency and warmth, even offering recommendations for local attractions. With a strict adherence to COVID guidelines, Sunset Grill ensured proper distancing between patrons. While some maintenance may be needed in this charming but aged venue, the portions were generous and the service friendly.
Stopped in while traveling to the lake near by. We called in out order and it was ready for us when we arrived. the fish and shrimp stole the show and ended the show with strawberry rhubarb pie, boy what a night. the place is cute and witty (must see it understand) will be returning on out lake outings. Thank you for a great meal.

Food was OK for the price, lacked flavor. Not the cleanest place either, sticky tables. Service was slow, due to there only being only one waitress. Interesting atmosphere, the place was riddled with quotes and portraits of celebrities to look at while you wait. Probably won't be visiting this place again.

This place is a hidden gem! Stopped while passing through on a trip and realized we were looking for Mexican food on a Sunday (not advised). The Sunset Grill saved the day and the food was 🔥! The waitress was working the entire place by herself all day and crushed it-super friendly, took care of everything we needed and recommended places to visit in the are. 10/10 will stop here the next time we are in town. The restaurant was taking COVID seriously and everyone was distanced properly. What a treat!

I eat out a lot and use the own restaurant so I know what I'm talking about. One of the worst breakfast I've had in recent memory. Bacon overcooked. Hash Browns had almost burnt spots Plus brown spots from the hash browns being left in the open air too long and not being cooked. Toast was not crispy at all totally soaked with butter and limp. Have to say the eggs were good and cooked right. But one out of four don't cut it. terrible.. I hardly ever give a review and I hate to give bad reviews cuz it's tough on the business. but they need to shape up

This iconic steakhouse boasts a full bar, an enchanting desert garden at its entrance, and a charming seasonal patio. Renowned for curing their own beef, Los Arcos has become synonymous with exceptional quality and has been loved by generations of patrons.
Sat on the patio. Our server was really nice. The outside patio/bar doesn't have the full food menu every day. Pictured is catfish sandwich. UPDATE: Went back again and sat inside in the bar area. I was in town with family for Christmas vacation. Los Arcos was recommended to us by our hotel. The dinner service was exquisite. From the moment I walked in with the family for dinner I knew it was going to be perfect. I enjoyed the selection on the menu and the prime was perfectly prepared. Our waitress took excellent care of our group and the owner even stopped by to make sure we were enjoying our food. I highly recommend them and I will definitely go out of my way to dine here again. Thanks for the great experience.

Great food and drinks. Love the fried veggies one of my all time favorites. The Prime Rib sandwich will have you drooling and the Prime Rib quesadilla with Green Chile is no different. The Green Chile Chicken Alfredo was delicious. Great service!

Honestly NOT worth the money. I ordered the Cajun Catfish. While the catfish was cooked nicely, I don’t even think there was two grains of salt on the thing. There was absolutely no flavor other than well.. fish? For the price, I wish I never even would have ordered it. On the other hand, my husband got the Honey Mustard Chicken. That was also very under seasoned and had LITERALLY 3 lines of mustard across a plain chicken breast. I cannot believe what they are charging for this mediocre food. On top of that, the servers were rude. Overall, I don’t think I would ever recommend this place. At least until they cut their prices in half!

As soon as you walk in the door, you feel welcome. We were greeted and were told it would be a 15-minute wait. We sat and looked over the menu since it was our first time dining here. We got sat at our table, and complimentary bread and butter were served. They were delcious! They have a wonderful selection of steak, chicken, and seafood. It was hard to choose what I wanted! We ordered Mozzarella sticks as an appetizer. They were some of the best I have ever had. For my entree, I decided to go with the Charbroiled Catfish (Cajun Style) with rice pilaf, brocolinni, and a side salad. My husband ordered the petite steak with a baked potato and soup of the day, which was Green Chile Chowder. Everything was delicious and tender. Our server Matt was very attentive. The owner was walking around, stopping at every table to check on things. Now we know why this restaurant is very successful and operates beautifully! Thank you so much for a wonderful dinner out. We will be back!

We slipped in here simply expecting a nice dinner. Instead we were fortunate enough to be whisked away into a unexpected dining experience. We were warmly greeted upon entry, and made to feel truly welcomed, valued and appreciated as guest. Our service was exceptional and we're were equally impressed by the quality of the food we were served. We found the seafood selections to be a excellent choice in both quality and price. Pricey but well worth it.

Its a really nice restaurant, the food flavors are so good, they have a full bar! Wine and margaritas were good the bread the steak the rice! I took my wife for our 15th anniversary and im just so happy we choose this place. Service and atmosphere so relaxing. Great place. I forgot desert was so yummy!!
Nahum Morales — Google review
We stopped here after a lovely day trip. I ordered the petite sirloin. It was so thick, and yet, the perfect medium rare. The broccoli in bernaise was a bit bland. The pilaf was delicious and had mushroom pieces in it, the slice of kiwi was even good. I had no room for dessert, as I chose the onion soup to go with dinner. The beef onion soup itself had very tender little beef bites and the onions added great flavor. I would have caramelized them a little, but it was very tasty And funny, this restaurant opened in 1970, so it's as old as I am. The decor was cozy, but still 70's ish, which made me laugh. Our waiter was friendly and attentive. I wished I could have done dessert, but that was a LOT of food. Maybe next time, would definitely be back.

Stopped here one night to grab a bite to eat, and find a hotel for the night in Truth & Consequences New Mexico. Surprisingly, we were able to grab two seats at the very small bar. Got a couple of drinks, looking over the menu, ordered dinner. The fish sandwich was delicious. Hardly any wait for our meals. The bartender was great, and even changed the channel to the hockey game, which was great. He was helpful in helping us to navigate the local hotels as well, gave us some good advise. Great atmosphere, quiet, casual.

I have been to Los Arcos many times, and my food is always wonderful. The host, wait staff and kitchen staff are great! Highly recommend the Green Chile Alfredo and Mud Pie for dessert!

Los Arcos has been one of my favorite restaurants to dine at for years. The food is excellent and the staff is always professional and friendly. It has a great ambiance and the owner makes it a point to personally visit each table. My personal favorite is the prime rib.
