Located in Sun River, this bistro is highly recommended and reservations are advised due to its popularity. The servers and bartenders go above and beyond, providing personal, professional, and friendly service that ensures happy customers.
Simply amazing. The best food in sun river and its not even close. I had the chicken with mashed potatoes and a side. Been a very long time since I have had a meal that good.

If you are in Sun River, this place is a must! Reservations are highly recommended. This bistro fills up fast. Our food was delicious, the ambiance was cool and soothing, especially considering we sat at the bar (lucky to get a spot with last minute reservation). Best of all, the servers and bartenders at the bar were beyond amazing! Personal, professional, friendly and overall, what businesses need to make happy customers! Just the two of us tonight - we left very happy and felt this place was the jewel of Sun River!

Incredible food, seriously kudos to chef Kelly, and our waiter, David S. was so personable and a great bartender as well. I would definitely recommend to anyone staying in the area and looking for a premium dining experience. We will definitely eat here on our next trip!
Rachie284 — Google review
First time experience for our 4 year anniversary. We were able to get an immediate reservation spot last minute. The entre and dessert was absolutely mouth watering! Portioned well, and cooked to perfection. We were so impressed we made a reservation for the next day! Kudos to the chef and staff! HIGHLY RECOMMEND!
Shawna Jahnke — Google review
There was excellent service at South Bend Bistro. The food did not take a long time from the time we ordered, and it was excellent. I will recommend this restaurant to everyone in the Sunriver area.
Jack Fisher — Google review
Cozy place with potential but they really need to up their game. They need some new blood in the kitchen and inspiration. The food is so tired and basic, yet you’re paying super high resort prices. Not worth it. I always leave disappointed with my meal - my last dish was salmon which tasted like burnt oil, the bread butter is always cold and tastes freezer burnt, most of the dishes don’t change much. A little more variety in summer would be nice, and their meat entrees are usually very dry. Also truffle oil on carpaccio? Please NO. The service is great and the cocktails and wine selection is nice.
Chelsea B — Google review
What a pleasant surprise. While visiting with our friends who live in Sunriver they recommend we do one nice dinner at South Bend Bistro. The food was in a word - amazing! We started with the Summer Salad then went to the King Salmon and the Rigatoni. So glad my wife and I agreed to share. Drinks, wine, service all fantastic. A shout out to Culley Calkins and the team. Also a great wine list! And they all know their wines, most of the vintners personally. That makes for some interesting conversation.
Jack Pouchet — Google review
Food and drinks were amazing! Cully our server/bartender was also fantastic! Will definitely add this place to our list of favorites. Great vibe and upscale dining but still simple and low key.
Gary Phillips — Google review
Our group (6 adults) dined here during our visit to Sunriver. The service was amazing! David was very knowledgeable especially about wine. He did a great job and even gave us many recommendations for other places to eat/visit. The food was very good and priced appropriately. The carpaccio and crab cakes were some of our favorites as well as both pastas. We will be back next time we are in town.

We had an amazing experience at South Bend Bistro! Everyone is so friendly. I highly recommend making reservations—it’s a popular place for a reason; their food is exceptional. I can’t wait to go back and try everything else on the menu! We ordered: crab cakes, quail, and salad (not pictured, but it was the best!) South Bend Bistro’s drinks and wine menu is also great!
Madeleine Sisson — Google review
What a gem! The place gives off fine dining vibes, yet it was low key at the same time. Cannot say enough good things about the food. Everything on the menu looked good. We ordered clam chowder, pork chop, beet/goat cheese salad. Everything, starting with presentation and ending with flavors, was great! My husband and I enjoyed every bite (we are normally not easily impressed with food). What I found most impressive was the kids menu. Grilled salmon with asparagus and mashed potatoes?! Or filet mignon with broccolini?! It was so refreshing to not find the typical chicken fingers or cheeseburger! My 4 year old was pleased with the choices. For dessert, we ordered flourless chocolate cake and creme brulee - both absolutely delicious. I regret not taking pictures of the food. Everything looked and tasted great!
Natalya Wollenberg — Google review
Friendly service but sort of slow and absent, cozy patio and fresh food that falls shy on flavor but big on price. Ordered a variety of items: steak tartare, chilled tomato soup, halibut, rack of lamb, crab cakes, flourless cake, gin sour, gin blueberry sparkler, Manhattan, champagne and cosmo. Favorites were the soup, gin sour and cosmo. Halibut was a creative take with a southern spin that fell short on flavor. The lamb ribs were good but the bourbon sauce didn’t come through & they were greasy. The crab cake was a nice flavor but small. The soup was refreshing and not too rich. The flourless cake disappointed. Ordered a glass of champagne and came out in the little bottle with a blue label (not what we expected for $$$) All the staff were super friendly and we loved the dog friendly patio. We are happy we tried this place but for just shy of $300 we won’t return.

4.8 star ratings for a restaurant with this many reviews is extremely rare. I can tell you firsthand there’s a reason for it. We don’t even live in this state, but we’ve had the good fortune to eat here twice in the last couple of months and it is absolutely off the charts. There’s a lot that I can say, but I’ll keep it short. If you haven’t eaten here, you need to make it a priority because it is what we all say it is….

Pizza restaurant
Blondie's Pizza is an Italian eatery that specializes in freshly baked pizza, calzone, pasta, and sandwiches. With a pleasant outdoor seating area shaded by parasols, it offers a delightful dining experience. Their Resort Veggie Supreme Large Pizza is highly recommended for its perfect cooking and flavorful crust—not too thin nor too thick. This generously sized pizza can easily satisfy 3-4 people depending on their appetite. Additionally, the side salad is fresh and generously portioned.
Been getting pizza here since 1997. Incredible food. It’s a must every time were in the area. Just damn good pizza. And to those complaining that it takes a long time at 6pm on a Friday night… seriously? Good restaurants are supposed to be busy then. I’ve worked at 3 pizza places and Blondies holds their own. Highly recommended.
Russell Smith — Google review
I love this place. It can be so busy that you can’t get through on the phone and place a big order and they happily say, “see you in 20-25 minutes” I don’t know how they do it. We have never had an order messed up and the pizza sauce here is awesome.
Travis Smith — Google review
They have veggie pizza for vegans, but tourists area and super duper busy, this restaurant and couple bars opened late night. So evening time is super duper busy you will wait long line, we ordered veggies pizza and pepperoni pizza. Pretty big size, so good and yummy. Crews are ok not a rude but they seemed like a tired and way too busy. Little bit pricey but tourists area and summer time is making money for them I kinda understandable. But pizza is really good.
Morai Ball — Google review
Although we got there just 1/2 hr before closing, the service was excellent. The salad was fresh, and the bread was tasty. We did not order pizza. The parking lot is being improved, so there was some caution tape to negotiate, but that's temporary. Altogether quite pleased.
Kathy Green — Google review
Nice selection of vegetarian pizza options. We ordered three different large pizzas for a group of eight. The fan favorite was definitely the Mediterranean. Not the best pizza I’ve ever had, but the dough was good, prices were fair, and staff was incredibly friendly. I’d likely order from here again when in the Sunriver area.
Alexandra Anderson — Google review
Nice selection of specialty pizzas and salads in Sunriver. Reasonably priced and great customer service. The crust is delicious and the toppings are fresh. Highly recommend the salads. We've eaten here several times and will go back.
Warren Brown — Google review
The pizza here was great, we got it 2 times while we were staying in Sun River. Both times they were great pizza’s and the toppings were great quality it seemed. They made ordering over the phone easy and made sure they got the right address. The delivery was a bit faster than they said it was going to be both times.

Great pizza! Staff was amazing! We had a small pepperoni and a small river runner. Great sauce ratio as well as condiments! Will always come back!
Rachael Shaw — Google review
Good pizza here! We will be back to try the sandwiches next time.

It's a take out place but the Pizza was fantastic. I ordered the Mulligan and it was one of the best pizzas I've had in a while. Tasted so good thumbs up
Barry Allen — Google review
This pizza is delicious. My absolute favorite in the area. We live in La Pine and pick it up after a day of floating in Sunriver. If you like round table pizza, you'll love this!
Kyle Ewing — Google review
We decided to try the pizza and I am glad that we did. We had the Resort Veggie Supreme Large Pizza. It was cooked just right at the crust tasted good. Not to thin and not a thick crust either. I think it is large enough for 3-4 people depending on how hungry everyone is. I also ordered a side salad and that was super fresh and a good sized side salad. It looks like they only do to go orders right now but I am not sure. There seem to be plenty of pizza places on the resort property but this one is worth trying in my opinion.
Hugh McLaughlin — Google review
I saw someone post it was the best pizza ever. Someone told me before I got it that it was the best pizza in Central Oregon. I will admit. It is REALLY good pizza. It is only carry out at the moment, but it is some of the best pizza I've ever had.
Brian White — Google review
I have been to Blondies many times and there pizza is always good.. but as of this time I ordered there grilled cheese and it was absolutely horrible, I got home and my whole sandwich was so soggy I couldn’t even eat it, it was worse then subway and that takes a LOT… not impressed was a WASTE of my money and time…

Mexican restaurant
Hola! Sunriver is a vibrant eatery that offers a fusion of Mexican and Peruvian cuisine, along with an extensive tequila bar for delightful margaritas. One of the highlights is their incredibly delicious verde dip, which comes complimentary with your chips and dip when you first sit down. The delectable Tamales de Puerco are also highly recommended. Situated by the river, a few tables provide stunning views that make it seem like the restaurant is suspended over the water.
Hola' nouveau Mexican-Peruvian cuisine in Sunriver was a fantastic experience. The food was delicious, the atmosphere was inviting, and the restaurant staff were incredibly friendly. I was particularly impressed by the wide variety of food choices, ranging from Puerto Rican to Mexican cuisine. Every dish I tried was both tasty and flavorful. Even on a busy Thursday when our group arrived, the staff managed everything very efficiently. Overall, it was an impressive dining experience
Kiwi Mill — Google review
The food sucked, ordered the beef tacos and it tasted very bland, server was nice and let me try the chicken and pork but they were just as bland but dry this time despite sitting in juices. Bathroom was absolutely filthy and disgusting at the same time. Very good server, not good food. They also charge for extra baskets of chips without telling you until you run out. The server was very accommodating and let me try the chicken and pork after I didn't like the beef, but the food just sucked.
Michael — Google review
We went for the Peruvian food as my wife is 1/2 Peruvian. The food was good, service was average. My wife and I both had the Loma Saltados and enjoyed the bananas flameada (Foster) for dessert. As a whole we ordered 1 of each item on the dessert menu, and a number of other entrees. No one in our party had any complaints about the food. We would definitely eat there again.
Craig Pifer — Google review
SMALL PLATES HIGH PRICES. The staff was good for the most part, especially the hostesses / support staff. The food was the biggest disappointment. They use the word “super” for several items but there is nothing “super” about their super margarita which is $18 and normal size as well as their super nachos which was the smallest and most basic super nacho I have ever seen. We won’t be coming back. Salads left a lot to be desired as well. We had a kids meal that came out 20min after all other meals (we were all done with dinner) that the server did not automatically comp. We had to request the comp and then he proceeded to tell us it was the kitchens fault, not his, which we didn’t think was very professional. He also stood and watched as we entered our credit cards and selected tip amount which honestly felt a little uncomfortable as well.
Nick Pronesti — Google review
Pros - best verde dip ever, comes with your chips and dip when you sit down!!! Tamales de Puerco Rocked Great view of river at a handful of tables, feels like the restaurant is practically hanging over the water. Has a nice mom and pop feel Cons- decor and atmosphere is a bit outdated and just okay Prices are on the steep side, plan on $20-35 per plate plus drinks and tip, but given the quality of food and location it is understandable No fajitas on menu Tipping screen options start at 20% and goes to 30%, maybe just an odd pet peeve of mine that I shouldn’t even note
Proptwist — Google review
We dinned here with a large group and most everybody enjoyed the experience. They have a mix of Mexican and Peruvian dishes, many of which we ordered. The only dish that wasn't thoroughly enjoyed was the chicken burrito, based solely on the chickens slightly bland flavoring. The burrito ordered with beef was much better, as was everything else. The restaurant offers a nice view of the Deschutes River and the staff is quite helpful and friendly. Overall, a safe recommendation if you're in the area and looking for some Mexican or Peruvian fare. Oh, and do yourself a favor by ordering a side of their excellent guacamole!

Great Location and Staff is on point . Portions are a bit small and prices have gone up by a lot . Love the location though basically on top of the canal
sigadvantage — Google review
Let me start by saying that this place is great. Great service and food. So I’ve read some review here that are 1 Star and our experience was not that! Can we all just take a moment and be patient with the situation at hand? Sure it was a bit slow but not bad. Hey, getting back to normal takes some time. So what if you need to wait an extra 5 minutes to get an order for drinks or food. They’re working hard and doing their best with the staff they have. AND with a smile! In the end, the food was amazing. We started with the Guac and for mains had the Peruvian Baby Back Ribs and the Carne Asdas. We loved it. For drinks we ordered the Super Margaritas and the Mojitos. We loved both. I always recommend 100% agave drinks if you want to avoid headaches or hangovers. I’ve seen people complain about overpriced, weak Margarita drinks but honestly, the pour is perfect. Also, oversized and served in a salted rim with a half full shaker on the side which is basically a 2 for 1. This is a resort town so expect to pay resort prices. Enjoy the friendly service, the view of the river and creative cuisine that doesn’t disappoint.
Ryan Crisman — Google review
They are open for inside dining with proper social distancing. We shared a plate of 3 tacos, rice, beans, chips and salsa. And a Tranquilo Especial draft beer. The view is really nice of all the multi-color kayaks. 6/8/22 They also outdoor dining with a great view of the Marina.

Cafe
Breakfast restaurant
The breakfast experience at Cafe Sintra Sunriver was enjoyable, despite the busy atmosphere and limited breakfast options in the area. The jasmine fruit tea stood out as a delicious beverage served in a generous portion. The waiter, Jaime, provided excellent service while the food itself was also satisfying. Although the cafe primarily offered American dishes with a few Portuguese meat choices, it still provided a tasty meal that may not fully encompass Portugal-inspired breakfasts but remains flavorful nonetheless.
We loved our breakfast here! It was super busy and so it did take a little while to get seated, but it’s also understandable given that there are only so many breakfast options in Sunriver. The jasmine fruit tea was AMAZING and came out in a huge cup. Would definitely recommend it! Our waiter Jaime was awesome and the food was good too. To be honest, breakfast was really just American food with a couple of Portuguese meats available, so don’t expect too much Portugal-inspired breakfast, but it was yummy nonetheless!

I was very excited to see there was another cafe Sintra, having been to the one in Bend. This one doesn’t disappoint - interesting menu with great quality food, efficient and friendly service in a spacious cafe setting. We came for breakfast (great toast and omelettes) as well as lunch (enjoyable and healthy salads as well as sandwiches)

If I could give this establishment 10 ⭐️s I would! Beautiful, clean, friendly employees, seated immediately, service was outstanding and the fooooooood! Oh my goodness the food was fresh, hand made 🍞 breads, English muffins, seasoned perfectly. Did I mention blood orange 🍊 hand squeezed juice?!!!!!!! Prices were very reasonable. We will be back, highly recommend! Wow! That sums it up, wow weeeeee! 10 ⭐️ ⭐️ ⭐️ ⭐️ ⭐️ ⭐️ ⭐️ ⭐️ ⭐️ ⭐️

Clean, warm on this cold day, great food and service. Almost cut it close for breakfast arriving at 11 with a wait. Cut off is 1130 for breakfast. But I was determined. Glad we stuck around it was great.
Jessica Vickstrom — Google review
My family and I had a nice time here. I like the cafe vibe. It was, also, clean. I really wanted to give it 5 stars for everything, but the main part which is the food--wasn't as expected. I ordered the eggs benedict which is a fave when I go to a breakfast restaurant. This one didn't have any flavor. I have never had food that had no salt. The servers were very nice and we appreciated their service. I can see they were working their best. I know that Sunriver restaurants are short staffed so there seems to be very long wait to get in to a restaurant, but if we wait a long time, I would hope the food tastes good. At least, the eggs benedict didn't. I guess the chefs must be new. I would still recommend going here and try something else as it is a cute little cafe.
J SM — Google review
Good place for a quick breakfast bite. Coffee was not great (tried capuccino and drip coffee) For some reason it was too bitter. Ketchup was really nice and tasty! I liked the omelette and the freshly baked bread too. Service was great and speedy. Inside was a bit dark and can do with a bit more light. The interior decorations were nice though. I think the prices were a bit too high than average. $25+ for basic breakfast per head for a group of 4 is a bit too much.

Love this cafe! We ate breakfast here both mornings we were in sunriver, excellent service and food was great! Second morning was busy (Saturday) and our food was delayed a little bit due to a mix up, the owner brought it out and apologized and didn’t charge us for our meal! Amazing customer service!! The atmosphere was welcoming and cozy, we will definitely be back!
Laura Homola — Google review
Our family has been enjoying the food and service at Cafe Sintra - Sunriver for almost 25 years now. Staff are always welcoming, prompt and polite. Plenty of indoor and outdoor seating exists, but given popularity, plan to wait a bit to be seated. The diverse food choices never fail to please. We always leave happy and content.
Dan Snyder — Google review
What a great cafe, I had a coworker recommend this place and I’ll definitely be back. The food was great, I had some of the best huevos rancheros I’ve eaten. Coffee was very good and the wait staff were very attentive.
Brian T. — Google review
Cafe Sintra is a fine place to grab lunch or breakfast. We went for a late breakfast. Once we were able to get our name on the waiting list, we only waited for about 15 minutes at 10:30am on a Friday. Once seated we received our menus and drink orders pretty quickly but service in general was pretty slow and our orders took longer than we expected but we were not in a hurry for anything. Our meals were all very enjoyable however I would not recommend paying extra for the fruit cups, they look beautiful but the fruit had an odd taste to it, almost like it was over ripe or had been cut earlier that morning and left out. The young people in our group both ordered eggs over medium and they were more like over easy, with extremely runny yokes. The hollandaise sauce on the Benedict was very pleasant and mild and the poached eggs were perfect. I ended up trying some of the potatoes and decided that those are definitely the way to go with the sides there as they are cooked to perfection with just the right amount of seasoning. I would like to go back the next time we are in Sunriver and try some other breakfast items. Their pastries looked great!

We snuck out of our AirBnb to steal a few minutes just us Mom's. We were on a friend's and family getaway... but just needed a moment to enjoy some food we didn't make ourselves. 🙃 We were told it was a 45 minute wait... so we waited in our car all bundled up. The hostess acted like she was put off by us ACTUALLY waiting that long. And said breakfast wouldn't be served by the time we were sat. (1130) It didn't deter us. We were sat at 1140 and Breakfast was indeed still being served 😋 One of us wanted something on the lunch menu and the waitress said we would have to wait an extra long time for her food to come out since they would have to switch the whole kitchen set up for LUNCH. But it was after 1130 lol come on. Listen ladies - just SAY you're miserable with your job. Our food all came close enough to the same time btw haha. 😆 It was all absolutely DELICIOUS. The chai tea was DIVINE. We had a lovely time despite the staff being a wee grumpy. And the atmosphere was super nice 👌 Yall should definitely eat here. The Eggs Benedict were the best I've EVER HAD 👏

Had a delightful breakfast experience here! All the food was amazing, in particular the italian sausage and biscuts and gravy were delicious. The serivce was very friendly and relatively quick. Highly reccomend for a brunch meal, though you may have to wait if you're in a big group since its pretty popular.

We walked in specifically for the pastries, after my sister told me about her experience and the service she got from her server with the patchouli which she loves. Some delicious pastries and lots of variety. Different options daily from what the lady up front mentioned. Jose knows what he is doing in that kitchen, two thumbs up to him and and the crew who assist him in anyway. All time best bread pudding muffin I’ve had. I didn’t capture a photo I was too excited to dig in.

Marcello's Cucina Italiana offers a wide selection of traditional rustic bistro dishes in a charming dining room, complete with a bar and patio seating. This establishment provides an opportunity for those who may have had previous negative experiences with Italian cuisine to give it another try. Customers can relish in the delightful flavors of various dishes, such as the delicious Salmon Piccata or the mouthwatering Chicken salad with Capellini di Mare.
Incredible experience, the service was impeccable, what you would expect from a 5 star restaurant. Bread was warm, entrees were perfect and drinks were expertly made. The ambience and music was so perfect for a romantic night or a gathering of friends. The price was very reasonable for the quality and service. All the service staff were friendly and attentive even as it got busier. This was a special occasion for me and my fiancee, this was a excellent place to cap off a wonderful day.

We had a great night here! We enjoyed the specials (crab risotto and rib eye) as well as some regular menu items, all of which were great. The flavor profiles are unique and much more Italy than Olive Garden. Our server was fantastic, informative, and quick. The atmosphere is dark and romantic, flickering electric candles and all! The sleeper favorite menu item was the orange Italian cream soda! 🍊
Amy Brooks — Google review
We came here for dinner after a long round of golf. While we did not have a reservation, they qwere very sweet to let us sit by the bar. The service were prompt and we got our food timely. We took away one star because we couldn't really justify the high price for the food. We ordered the chicken marsala and the special (baby shrimp with macadamia nuts coated fish with angel hair pasta). The special was $35 and it wasn't really special. The chicken marsala and caprese are not very special either. We had one cocktail and it's not very special either. I think this is still a good place for the atmosphere but not good if you're a picky eater that's expecting to be blown away.

We really liked this place. Everyone was very satisfied with their food. The eggplant was perfect and it’s hard to find well cooked eggplant. The berry salad was also really good. The service was excellent. We made a reservation and I would recommend you do the same.

It's been a while since I've been to an Italian restaurant and I was hoping this would be a reason I would like to give Italian food another try since my last experience wasn't pleasant. I am pleased to say my experience with Marcello's was great! We ordered the Salmon Piccata and it was delicious! The house bread was also very good and in my opinion it was better than the Garlic Bread. The service was friendly and checked in with us at the right time for drink refills or food. We were very full and satisfied.

Great service and great food. The Pollo Marsalla dish was delicious. If you like wine, don't get their house wine, make sure you ask for something specific from the menu. Desert ( tiramisu) was also good and the portion was more than enough to complete the meal. I will return to this place every time I'm in town. I do recommend you come with an appetite, food portions are big. Ask for Mary as your server, she was great and always with a smile.

Jumbo shrimp for appetizer. Then Chicken salad with Capellini di Mare. Delightful and great tasting. We were lucky to get outdoor seating and enjoy the evening temperatures.

The food was delicious, although the sauce wasn't creamy enough but the service was immaculate. The only reason I would give a 4 star is because a decoration was placed in front of the back exit doors and I didn't like that. Overall I would recommend!

While visiting Sunriver in a rental home, my family decided to order takeout from the nearby Marcello's. Overall, we really enjoyed the food. I thought that their cheesy garlic bread tasted fantastic, especially when dipped into the Alfredo sauce. I wasn't too pleased with the soggy texture of my fettuccine noodles personally, but I was the only one in home who thought mine were too limp. For high quality Italian cuisine, their prices were pretty reasonable.
Angelyka Cava — Google review
Delicious food. We tried their signature cheese bread, cheese ravioli with chicken and Alfredo sauce and pollo allo romano. The desserts were also good. We tried tiramisu and gelato. Would recommend coming here.

$200 of disappointing food for a birthday dinner. Our waiter was in dire need of a shower and deodorant. Our $50 steak was inexplicably spicy burning both of our mouths to the point of not being able to taste anything after one bite. Shocking since requested no seasoning. Snarky unempathetic service from the waiter when requested that steaks be remade. Other dishes were mediocre. Not offered complimentary dessert for birthday despite noting at reservation and when arriving at restaurant. Would not recommend.

Excellent entrees although the scallops contained a bit of sand. Great service and professionalism. Atmosphere is relaxing and definitely not packed to the brim like many of the other restaurants in the area. We thought the antipasto was not the best and the cheesecake was okay, but the entrees were exquisite enough on their own to make up for this. I would dine here again.
