The West Quoddy Head Lighthouse is a well-preserved and picturesque historic site that includes a keeper's house and an on-site visitor's center. The location of the lighthouse at the easternmost point of the United States provides for a unique experience, with beautiful views and walking paths on the grounds leading down to a beach. While the lighthouse itself may be closed during certain times of year, visitors can still appreciate its beauty from afar.
The lighthouse, as well as the setting, was idyllic. I couldn't believe how much cooler the temperature was here than at other spots I'd visited during my trip. Knowing I was at the end of the United States -- from an eastern standpoint -- was fun.
Bobby Painter — Google review
Beautiful place. There is a parking lot up from the light house and handicap parking right by the lighthouse. The park opens at 9 but the visitors center, museum, gift shop opens at 10. There is a pay here box as you walk down from the parking lot that I encourage you to pay at. It costs $4 per person for out of state. This money goes to preserving the lighthouse. There are restrooms by the parking lot. There are several trails that take you down to the beach area and around the state park.
Jill Roaden — Google review
Visiting the lighthouse furthest east on the United States eastern seaboard was a delight, even if the most intense fog rolled in to spoil my pics of it. The bizarre, yet most interesting, things about it are that you can literally AirBNB here and it costs money to tour it. While no park rangers were around, much of the trek back didn't seem to bad. Lots of windy roads and scenic desolation to get there, but once there, the scene is beautiful. Tranquility as a place. There was a family there staying and I think we kind of scared them a little, as they rushed to get into the house while we were approaching. The parking area is dirt and gravel, and the hill down is a subtle grade, but once there, the view could be spectacular. Head out to the West Quoddy Head Lighthouse and discover what I mean! Then head into Lubec for some delightful seafood at the Fisherman's Wharf!
W. Jeff Crawford — Google review
We drove to see this lighthouse. Grounds are beautiful. Unfortunately, the lighthouse was not open and couldn't climb in this one. It was the beginning of the season for this area. It was very cold and windy the day we went. There is a .5 mile trail that is great to walk. It takes you on a path up to different areas to see "Dangerous" Bluffs and then to steps to look out into the water. Beautiful outdoors. Highly recommend. Be sure to watch the weather as when we arrived the weather was clear and then fog was rolling in after walking the trails. This area does have a price of $4 and is done on an honor basis.
Debbie Ahrens Carr — Google review
The views are awesome, the grounds are beautiful with walking paths and stairs down to a beach. The lighthouse was closed until July 1st but was still pretty neat to see.
Jim DeGennaro — Google review
This lighthouse is beautiful! There are plenty of hiking trails if you're adventurous, but also a fence to just stand and admire the ocean view too. This lighthouse is on the most eastern point of Maine and worth the drive.
Annie Jones — Google review
This was a great Light House! Staff was very friendly. Had a great Trail right off the drive to the Light House and it was a fun little hike! Great place to visit the eastern most point of the US.
Robert Smiley — Google review
The town is a very quiet town. The main attraction (probably the only attraction), is the west quoddy head lighthouse. The views are spectacular, for sunrise and sunset right in front of the lighthouse. Even on the off season people still go and see it but other than the lighthouse the towns a ghost town, at least off season. The fisherman's wharf is one of the very few restaurants in town and it's a hit or a miss when they are open. They also have a hotel as well called the inn on the wharf. We were only there a few days but the owners seemed nice from what we saw. Lubec is hours away from most people, a long drive but seeing the lighthouse is worth it. Even though the town doesn't maintain it well (it needs painting), it's still a stunning lighthouse with amazing views and photo opportunities. Overall, 5 stars. One of my favorite places! ❤️
Tonia Taylor — Google review
Very cool! They do close at 4, in summer, so we couldn’t go inside. But the whole area is gorgeous. The picture with easternmost point in US will be memorable.
Nancy M — Google review
Love lighthouses and this one's beautiful. The weather was perfect and the fog was further out in the ocean. The museum is very informative and the staff is successful!! We hiked around the State Park and saw more incredible sights.
Sharon Akiyama — Google review
This charming lighthouse is worth a visit. Easy access and great views. While your there, enjoy the trails.
Carl Pysher — Google review
The admission fee is an honor box (green) near the entry sign at the trail head from the parking lot. There is not a lot to see here unless you are doing a four corners type of adventure. However, it's something to tell people...great bucket list item.

Watched a breathtaking sunrise here at West Quoddy Head Lighthouse. Lubec, Maine October 11, 2023. Highly recommend this experience! The visitors center was closed but there were 12-15 other people gathered to watch. All who gathered were respectful of this magestic opportunity for photographing.

Great place. Really beautiful lighthouse. Very important Easternmost point of USA. Surroundings are amazing too. Got to see some Bald Eagles sitting on the ocean rocks. And could see the far away island views too. Beautiful ocean views. We also saw here, a porcupine walking from the nearby trees areas. Great visit indeed. We loved our time here.

Building is closed until Memorial Day but parking lot and trails are still accessible. Beautiful view of the Easternmost point of the contiguous US

I am road traveller who would like to take a record at extreme points. This lighthouse marks the easternmost point of United States, and I am proud of myself that I reached this point. Unfortunately, it is a bit raining, if the weather becomes clear, I think the ocean will be much more beautiful.
hanhua ge — Google review
There are some gorgeous trails near the lighthouse! Breathtaking views! My first time here I saw a giant porcupine about a quarter of a mile in to the trail just chilling, it wasn’t threatened by us at all. Just sat there doing its own thing, it was so cute
Erin — Google review
I admit to not being super hard to please, that said, I was very pleased with this lighthouse. Of the several I visited in Maine. It was definitely one of the nicer ones and you had a beautiful view of the ocean, the islands in Canada, a museum and a cool little gift shop. It was also nice to go to the northeastern most point of the country has been to the southeastern and northwestern.
D W — Google review
Beautiful! Nice stating that you’re at the furthest NE corner of the USA. Very friendly staff, gorgeous art work available for purchase. Handicap parking is limited to about 5 vehicles. Very doable walk around for mobility challenges.
Barbara O — Google review
It was a long ride, but ultimately worth it. It was a very interesting little museum that offered quite a bit of history of the lighthouse and that area of Maine in general. Also, being at the eastern most point of the continental United States is something that you can tell your friends about. The staff was extremely friendly and they had a decent little selection of gifts and also a nice art gallery with local art for sale. I recommend taking a hike on the trails and going down to the beach. Overall very good experience.
Jason Amiama — Google review
An excellent visit and a nice check off the list as not many have been here. Be sure to take some of the hikes to the South and spend the day in very remote Maine. Photos from early September 2023.

It was amazing! Never have I been to a real lighthouse. The ocean knowing I was at the eastern most point of my home state it was like nothing else honestly.

Nature & Parks
Roosevelt Campobello International Park is a vast nature park located on the southernmost part of Campobello Island. The main attraction here is the Roosevelt Cottage, which was once Franklin D Roosevelt's summer home and has now been converted into a museum displaying original furniture and artifacts from his time as president. Adjacent to this cottage is Hubbard House, which was built in 1891 and also open to visitors.
Beautifully preserved and presented house of President Roosevelt. Tours are free and the guides do a great job taking you through the house and telling you about the history. An important stop for anyone visiting Campobello.
TC — Google review
Such a beautiful spot filled with so much history! It was torrential rain when I was there, so I didn't get a chance to fully explore all the trails in the park. I think a second trip may be needed! My tour guide was wonderful and brought alive the spirit of the Roosevelts. The Visitor's Center is full of information as well as fun souvenirs.
Sharon Durkee — Google review
A great park of the history... Its a must to be seen when coming to Campobello Island.. The upkeep of this cottage and the grounds is phenominal...Loved the story telling :)
Gis?le Vautour — Google review
Campobello is a friendly quiet beautiful place. My wife and I spent the day on the island with our dogs. If you're into hiking, there's plenty to do. You can drive to most of the site seeing places. Go there!
Douglas Leonard — Google review
We've been to many national parks over the years, but this was our first international park (as in a park run by two countries). The park offered a fascinating look into the recreational life of FDR and his families. You could tour their palatial summer cottage, have high tea while enjoying a talk on Elinor Roosevelt, stroll along the tree-lined lane, and more. Plus, there's nature trails and a 19th century lighthouse. Well worth the trip over the border for sure!
Nathan Deremer — Google review
One of the best kept secrets of Campobello Island at least each time I mention the Island to a mainlander and they say where. Well home to President Roosevelt's summer cottage, oh really then I have there attention. Got to see the cottage on our recent trip this year from the front and from the water. Have been through the cottage many times as a kid and this past visit was sorry it was closed to the pandemic but hopefully next visit I will get another trip though the grounds and inside.
Tim Chase Photography — Google review
This is a special place, both for it's beauty and the history. Our second visit, with friends who were there for the first time. The buildings are in fine shape, the grounds are lovely and peaceful. The highlight is tea with Eleanor, don't miss it. Fine hiking in the park well worth your time.
E — Google review
One of the best park experiences we've had anywhere, even though it was a rainy day. Wonderful, super-helpful and knowledgeable staff. We learned so much about the Roosevelt family. Start at the Visitor Center, where you can get a map and see a short orientation film. Tours of the Roosevelt "cottage" are in small groups every few minutes. Tours of the Hubbard Cottage are on your own. We had lunch at the Prince Cafe, then went to Eleanor's Tea, which is a very good 45-minute presentation by staff on Eleanor Roosevelt, accompanied by tea and gingersnaps. (Guys, this is not your grandmother's tea--you'll enjoy this. Tip: sit where you can see the monitor over the fireplace--they'll show photos while they're speaking.) All free.
Linda Suskie — Google review
So much history here that has been beautifully maintained. Highly recommend attending “Tea with Eleanor” if you get the chance. The staff were so knowledgeable and kind!
Josie Glidden — Google review
The tour is guided and free. Liz guided us through the home offering many details about the historical aspect of the summer cottage. We learned a lot about FDR and Eleanor, as well as their family. This park is still operated by both the US and Canada. Enjoy lunch at the Prince Cafe. We ate a BLT, Chicken pesto panini, and hot dog. Each entree came with chips and dill dip. We also endulged in a brownie sundae, delicious. Hope you enjoy your trip!
Annie Jones — Google review
A special place indeed. An "international park" as they call it, although you must be in Canada for visit. The site of President Roosevelt's summer cottage and area he met his wife. When we went the visitors center had just closed, but the staff were extremely helpful in going back inside unprompted and providing us with maps and assistance. They went the extra mile and made our brief trip well worth it. The cottage itself seems marvelous. There are views looking out to Eastport, Maine which seems so close you could cast a stone to it's shores. The trails make for lovely strolls. Worth a visit.
Seth M — Google review
We had such a lovely visit and our tour guide Landen was full of historical facts and entertaining detail. This is a wonderful place to spend the day and learn about Franklin Delano Roosevelt and family.
Angelia Shelton — Google review
If you're interested in History, you need to visit this park. It's currently the only international park in the world, it's jointly funded by both Canada and the USA, it has been maintained perfectly.

Campobello Island, located in the Bay of Fundy, is a picturesque destination known for its hiking trails, serene beaches, and camping opportunities. Accessible by boat from Saint Andrews, this island is home to the Roosevelt Campobello International Park where visitors can tour the 34-room summer cottage that was once a retreat for President Franklin D. Roosevelt and his family. The island also boasts a striking white and red lighthouse and offers sightseeing tours as well as whale watching excursions.
I hadn't been to Campobello Island since I was a kid and I am glad I went. I regret that I couldn't time my trip with the tides so I could walk out to the Head Harbor lighthouse but the views and photo ops were excellent. The Roosevelt complex is top notch as well.
Chris Murray — Google review
A simply lovely place to visit. Beautiful sights, lots of trails, and plenty of activities for all. You can go whale watching, kayaking, camping, Etc. Enjoyed an early morning seeing the sunrise at head Harbor Light and even saw whales breaching off the coast. For bird lovers this is the place to be. There are lots of sea birds and warblers and birds of prey. And of course there's the Roosevelt Cottage, the Beloved island of Franklin and Eleanor Roosevelt. There is quite a bit to see an explorer at there home.
Laurie Rich — Google review
Beautiful scenery! Phenomenal lighthouse that's tricky but fun to hike out to.
Lonny Keels — Google review
Very small and cute island. Think about food before come here. There are not too many options. When we went there, the weather wasn’t good and we couldn’t see anything and left the island But try the trails with cars and then walk. It’s good island door camping! And ask about the ferry before you go is they operating or not
Nasrin Ivari — Google review
Fun place for picnicking and exploring and taking a day to rest and relax.
jem brickner — Google review
It's not much really. Nearly no places to access the shoreline. The land to get to one lighthouse is private property, and they charge a fee to cross is, and is only accessible at low tide, so if you miss low tide, too bad, or you're stuck for 12 hours. There's very little to do, nearly no stores. Drive the one road and you've seen it all. Very disappointing overall.
Tim Bouchard — Google review
One of my favorite destination's this year and many years past. Campobello Island has to be one of the most beautiful places in New Brunswick and one of the areas most would say where ? Then we say home of President Roosevelt's summer cottage then we have your attention. Spending time with family on the Island we traveled all over each day, driving and boating. There's so many sights and so much to capture from water and land. The vivid colors of the waterfront, the beauty of the land. A few days just would not be enough to take everything in. As you can see by the images I've added there really isn't a bad image anywhere. Hope you enjoy my view of Campobello Island and you all get an opportunity to visit for awhile.

Brewery
Lubec Brewing Co. is a top-rated restaurant and brewpub in the Lubec area, offering a diverse food selection with vegan options. The establishment is child and pet-friendly, featuring ample indoor seating and a pleasant garden for families to enjoy. Visitors praise the engaging and knowledgeable staff, as well as the exceptional craft beer offerings. While some wish for additional food options, many appreciate the overall chill atmosphere and excellent service at this popular brewery.
I would recommend this establishment to anyone who likes beer. Or good conversation. Or even just sunshine. Staff and regular patrons alike were incredibly friendly (Thanks Pete!). The beer was excellent and sold at a reasonable price; especially given the focus on local ingredients. There's live music, nice decorations, and a comfortable garden area for fresh air. If I lived closer I would be here every week. If you happen to read this: please patronize this business - you won't regret it.

Came in yesterday and got to try several of these delicious and unique brews! (Chile one was especially great). Got a few bottles from IGA on the way out of town too! Friendly crew and they work hard to keep things going. Like everywhere else here, they have very limited hours in the off seasons.

I live on Beals Island and I brought a few friends to Lubec to the brewery and we all absolutely loved this place, the beer was absolutely phenomenal and a great chill environment, the staff was awesome as well, really good people for sure. I even bought a growler. I will definitely be returning bub!! Only thing is I wished they had some sort of food on the menu, other than that, best brewery around!!!!!

Very friendly brewer and excellent beers! They have quite a selection. Everything we had was great. They also have non alcoholic drinks too like Maine root beer. They have fire pits too. Definitely come here.

Awesome place with cool vibes inside and outside. The outdoor garden area is dog friendly and also has great views. Beer was awesome and staff super friendly and helpful with recommendations!

Warm and friendly place. Good selection of beers. Tasty and creative selection of vegan dishes, but there are a couple of dishes with meat. Delicious pizzas too. They use locally sourced foods as much as possible. Live music on many nights (which did not overwhelm the conversation) . Definitely check it out if visiting Lubec.
Donna Chazanov — Google review
Great find! A definite must if visiting the area! Beer flavors were really tasty! Owner Gale was awesome and showed my son-in-law around his brewing operation. My daughter said the visit to the brewery made the visit for her. Bought some beer to take home.

Lubec Brewing Co. is the best restaurant and brew pub in the Lubec area. The food selections are very diverse and include vegetarian options too. The staff is fast, friendly, and fun. I really enjoyed my chowder and beer. Great choice of craft beer, cocktails, and wine too.

One of our favorite places to go every time we visit. Such a cozy, relaxing, and unique environment. Great beer and the owners are amazing! He took us back and let us try the new rhubarb beer he was making. Awesome experience we'll never forget.

I stopped by late summer while on a get-away trip. The staff was great! Attentive and engaged in conversation. I felt they were super knowledgeable in their product and Lubec itself. We intended to stop for one beer but sat in their cute beer garden for what seemed like hours. The beer garden was so tranquil. Will be back!

Museum
Specialty Museums
The McCurdy Smokehouse Museum in Lubec, located on Water Street, delves into the town's deep connection with fishing and the economic significance of smoking and tinning fish. Housed in a weathered shingle-sided building on tall wood pilings over the water, it was once an industrial fish processing facility and is believed to be the last intact herring processing facility from the early twentieth century in Maine.
Highly recommend checking out this museum if you're in the area. The gentleman who is giving the tours currently worked here for six years, so he has first hand experience in how the smoking of the herring and sardines was done. Apparently this was the last operating smokehouse in the United States and it closed in the early 90s due to the FDA requiring them to remove the enterals of fish in the beginning of the process, rather than the end, which this was not set up to do. There was also a building that used to be across the river and it floated away during a high tide. Another building that was attached to the current museum was also lost a few years ago during a bad winter storm. They are currently trying to raise money to lift up the buildings several feet higher, as two of them flood as much as a foot of water during extreme high tides, so they are also at risk of collapse or floating away. Inside you'll find posters with information on how the mackerel were caught, strung onto rods for smoking, smoked (for two months!), then taken down for processing and packaging. There used to be smokers and canneries all over Maine, but this is a one of a kind now, despite being a booming industry for so long. Still smells like fish now, and it was 10x stronger back in the day. Imagine how it was in the 30s when there were multiple smokers and canneries running! Highly recommend checking out this cute little piece of history if you're in the area to learn a lot more about Maine's history, as well as support their effort in saving these buildings.
Ian Proctor — Google review
I’m always up for a historical tour and the museum definitely did that. You’ll watch a short film about its history then you’re free to roam the building. The man who was there the day I went was very friendly and let me ask a gazillion questions. After that we chatted for quite a while about all kinds of stuff. I’d go back for sure if we were in Lubec again.
Stephanie Wolz — Google review
McCurdy represents a part of Lubec’s maritime history. Lubec had a significant role in producing canned sardines. The Smokehouse was part of the process to smoke the fish. According to the tour, they used rods as part of the smoking process. In the day there was also a brining shed.
Perks Advisor — Google review
Found this very interesting given an entire way of life had disappeared in this town. My tour guide was soooo cool, forget his name but he made the visit for me. I come from a fishing family and listening to him reminded me of my great uncles and their tales of the "old days".
Running Couple — Google review
Very nice small museum capturing the now gone herring smoking industry that once thrived in Lubec. Museum is located in the last of the facilities in Lubec (and the USA) and yes, it still has that distinct fishy smell! The gentleman on duty when we visited was so kind and informative. He walked us through the entire process and history, including its demise in the 1990s. Only $4 adult less a $1 discount if you have AAA. Well worth the time if you are stopping in Lubec or visiting Campobello Island.
M Robson — Google review
The guide was informative and gave you space if you wanted it. It’s small but an important part of history in the town of Lubec and honestly our country. A good hour or so to appreciate and capture the details. An appreciation for hard work. Very much worth it and short video was good too. Only $4 pp, great deal. Recommend.
Kim Wilbur — Google review
The Museum provides a glimpse into the herring smoking and sardine packing industries that were vital to Lubec and helped feed a nation. It also demonstrates how much damage, out-of-control, government regulations can do.
Timothy Ford Malone — Google review
Actually smokehouse converted into museum with smokehouse smell, how authentic. Fascinating to learn how Lubec thrived in days of yore.

Common areas are perfect for socializing while enjoying the stunning view, and there's a convenient common kitchen with morning coffee available.
No room for improvement. Awesome views. Great beers. Great food. Great service. Nothing like sitting out on the dock sipping a beer, enjoying a sunset and eating a lobster that was just brought in on that dock a few hours ago. Many sights to see in the area.

Rooms are very quiet at this time of year. But they closed down restaurant early for the end of season without putting it on the website. Rooms are nice and good size. They took two twins mattress and put together for king bed. Would love to come back during in season. Note: Whole town is closed down. And you will have to hope a gas station is open for food or the little grocery store. Or go into Canada for food.

We had a great one night stay at this gem. The lady who answers the phone and works the desk is super friendly and helpful. The on-site restaurant was conveniently open for breakfast, lunch, and dinner featuring delicious food and fast service. Our room was large and equipped with everything we needed for a comfortable stay plus a beautiful shared balcony overlooking the ocean. The only negative thing I can say about this beautiful place is that housekeeping needs to pay a little more attention to small details. The room was certainly clean enough but the coffee maker was clogged with grounds from previous visitors and the extra blanket that was stored in the closet had not been washed between guests. (as evidenced by the hair left behind). So needless to say I was a bit chilly, but will absolutely stay here the next time I need a place to stay in Lubec!

Visited in mid April when it was off season still. Restaurant was empty when we visited and yet we were greeted by the sweetest hostess/server. I forgot her name but she had brown hair and a smile! So accommodating and even brought our food outside to some tables we sat at. The food was Delicious!! She included everything, butters, syrups, etc! I appreciated that thoughtful care, and special delivery. Great service!

We stayed in the Bay View suite and the water view was amazing! The suite had coffee, a nice hot shower, a comfortable bed, and two comfy chairs. The seating area on the deck was large and private. We ate breakfast in the restaurant on the property and enjoyed walking to the docks, located just across the water from Muholland Lighthouse (Canada). We hope to make our way back in the future!

It is not worth the stay. The room was not cleaned properly and had a bad smell. It was very loud - They put me in a room right next to their restaurant and the walls were thin. There was banging until 9:30 pm and it started again promptly at 6 am. I've stayed in cheap hostels that were better than this.

The room was quiet and had a great view. Make sure you sit out there for the sunset! Lubec as a whole is a great place to visit if you’re looking a for a walkable place that doesn’t have all the hustle and bustle of bigger cities. Plus it’s a short trip over to Campobello Island if you want to visit Canada!

Staff are very helpful and friendly. Spacious rooms are nice, view is beautiful with a direct view over the water. No T.V. in rooms but we didn't even notice until after we left. We were so busy enjoying chatting over coffee while taking in the views from our windows, or busy out exploring local parks and lighthouses. Common areas are also great for gathering with a view. Convenient common kitchen with coffee in the mornings. Restaurant on site, with breakfast, lunch and dinner options. Washer/dryer available for 1.50 each, making a load of laundry $3. We took advantage of this on our last evening before packing. So many beautiful parks, hiking trails, scenic beaches, etc. to see nearby or within a short drive. Well worth the stay!

Everyone enjoyed their dinners. I had lobster stew and it was delicious. It had a huge amount of big chunks of lobster. The haddock was also very good. Fresh and cooked just right.
John Toebe — Google review
I will start by saying the room was pretty clean. That is always my #1 priority with a hotel/inn/b&b/etc. and they get most of their positives from me there. After that, I had to go back to the office after the first key they gave me didn't work in the door at all. It was open, but we wanted to leave things in the room and explore the area (not to mention sleep in peace) so I sort of expected a working door lock. The second key sort of worked. I had to wiggle it for about 30 seconds to a couple minutes each time I wanted to use it as it wouldn't engage the lock. It seems the keys they have don't really match the door lock well. The door lock needs to be fixed. It is unclear on the website, but the room that I ended up getting was a room underneath someone's house/apartment. There are three houses (that look identical) that appear to have full-time residents upstairs and two little rental rooms in the back/downstairs that share a porch. I think there are more rooms/suites that are located at/near the restaurant, but mine was in a set of houses a very short walk down the road from the restaurant (no problem here, just an FYI). As for the room itself, that's where I had to knock off some points (even door problem aside). There's no AC, so you really need to crack a window in warm weather to keep the room cool. This may be a low-crime area (I didn't look into it), but it doesn't feel super comfortable having to open the sliding glass door (which is the only way into the room) and just leave a screen door closed which anybody could come into in the night (it didn't have a functional lock, not that a lock on a screen door is worth anything) or even leave a ground-level window open in a town you're not familiar with. The bed was not comfortable. It was hard, and slanted in various places, so either side wanted to roll off. The pillows squished to nothing. The decorative pillows were stained. Doors all looked like they were bought from a seconds' store (misaligned panels, etc.). It basically felt like everything was set up as cheaply as humanly possible so that they could rent more rooms at 4-star hotel prices because there's a view of the bay. The walls had zero sound-dampening happening. I could hear the people in the next room talking then snoring and the person upstairs moving around regularly. Also, these are not Ocean view. They look out at Johnson Bay and a bunch of little boats (sailing boats, fishing boats, etc.) moored when not in use. It's still a very nice view, but most of the room names are deck to sea or ocean view or similar and a quick look at the map here (especially the satellite view) will tell you which direction the rooms/buildings face. Again, just an FYI as I enjoyed the view (even though it was very foggy the day we stayed). The shower had some big bottles of store-bought TRESemme shampoo and conditioner just loose, which feels more like showering at a family member or friend's house than an inn. Most places have gone to refillable wall-mounted pump setups these days, which I agree with much more than individual little bottles that add plastic waste, so I'm not opposed, but the implementation here was just something I haven't seen before. There was a TV in the room, but no cable. It was a Vizio with a smart-tv app suite (and an internet connection) that had some free programming that allowed you to watch some old shows or movies they had. You could log into Netflix, but there were already 4 children's accounts logged in so I didn't mess with that. We were only here for one night and I didn't come to watch TV, so I wasn't upset about this, but watched an old movie to help settle down for sleeping and figured I'd share what the room offered for that experience. I also would have felt bad about it being loud the way sound travels in these rooms. Overall it wasn't an awful place to spend one night, but I didn't get a great night's sleep due to the bed, the noise, and keeping my temperature regulated. I wouldn't look to stay here again.

We had an excellent stay with an amazing view. The bedding was comfortable and the room was clean. We stayed in the sunset room. It was nice to be down on the end and relax. Loved the common area. Everything was clean and neat. Hopefully we will be back again! Lubec is a beautiful town away from all heavily traveled areas to the south. This is definitely worth the visit.

We stayed at the Sunrise room. It had a great view, comfortable bed and other amenities. The rooms were clean. The common area provided enough tables and chairs to work and also get to know the other guests. We loved our stay. We also walked to a great coffee shop and restaurants near by.

We had our Maine roadtrip on the end of February. We arrived at 10pm during rain and fog and it was gloomy scenes around. Really nice view in the morning. I expect views even better on summers mornings. However for one who enjoy calm surroundings Lubec is a must visit place and Inn on the wharf is a perfect stay.

Beautiful view right off the water, wonderful size kitchen and common areas, plenty of space to be spread out and everything was so nice and clean and well kept. The building has so much character with subtle remnants of its original life without feeling odd. The staff are super friendly and courteous, and big plus being able to wake up and grab an amazing breakfast next door.

Great ice cream. Even have a pup cup for your dog with a biscuit on top. Charming!
Angela Wade — Google review
Great Maine themed gifts, including some made by local artists, at reasonable prices. Window service available if you're just getting ice cream. Nice in town location across from the water, offering limited outside seating. Grab some lunch at one of the many restaurant/pub/breweries along the road, browse the shop, grab an ice cream, and take a stroll to the pier to watch the lobster boats come in.

Stopped here to get a little ice cream treat and discovered that they pack an amazing amount of cute stuff in the little gift shop too. My son found a nice long-sleeve t-shirt and a hat to commemorate our trip on the Bold Coast Scenic Byway. I found cute Christmas ornaments to hang on my tree. The selection of Maine mugs is outstanding. We both got the coffee ice cream and it was delicious! We look forward to visiting again!

Great place. Ice cream was delicious and the people working there were very friendly. Even whipped up a pup cup with a treat on top for our dog. If you've driven far enough to be in the vicinity of the place, it's worth the stop.

Great little spot to shop for gifts and to get an ice cream and sit awhile and enjoy the view. FYI, if you show up as a return patron wearing one of their special shirts from their shop, well, you might just get an extra scoop!

Lovely little cafe. Great small town feels. Kind and lovely staff. Homemade baked good, soup, sandwiches, and coffee. Had a great delicious breakfast panini, and a London fog.

I loved walking in to a small town bakery & hearing the locals chatting. Andrea was super friendly and obviously enjoys what she's doing. The coffee and muffin was really good. I'll return tomorrow for more

A lovely little spot with atmosphere, delicious coffees, and surprisingly good food and snacks! Almost always some jazz playing and the view of the channel provides a perfect background for a little pit stop. Seating is ample, and you'll probably meet some nice folks to share a few moments while you enjoy a pastry, sandwich, and your preferred coffee selection.

Sweetest little coffee shop! It’s a great space—bright and cheery. The coffee is delicious. Baked goods and freshly made sandwiches are great and very high quality. Staff is welcoming. Best new bonus is they also now offer wine! You can’t go wrong grabbing a morning coffee or an afternoon wine here.

we loved this coffee shop. it has a great ambiance, good food and friendly people at service. We loved this place so much that we went twice the same day, for breakfast and then for lunch. It had good vegeterian and non-veg options.

Quality coffee. Brewed coffee was solid, shot of espresso was complex and enjoyable, my partner's cortado was on point. The baked goods looked really scrummy. No WiFi. Very friendly barista. Clearly a favorite of locals and tourists.

What a great experience we had at this coffee shop! We stopped in for espresso that was fantastic! The owner was lovely and made us feel as welcome as guests in her home. She offered us some free samples of caramels too. She makes homemade sandwiches that looked delicious, but we'd just had lunch so we didn't eat them. I will definitely go back and when I have guests from away, I'll be glad to take them there. I highly recommend Narrow Escape.

Great restaurant, gorgeous views from the deck, and glorious staff. Lubec has so much to offer and this place is one you shouldn’t miss. One of the best lobster rolls I had in Downeast Maine. Very generous portions and extremely fair prices. The kids will enjoy too.

Frank's can be busy at the dinner hour. For a restaurant with small seating area, the menu can be extensive with printed menu items plus chalkboard specials. There are a lot of Italian and Greek menu specials at times. The kitchen is small and Frank is busy back there. My wife.loved the Crab cakes, lots of crab. Local color is added by a guy who comes in and interacts with Frank, the staff and occasionally the clientele.

Food was delicious. I had the Maple glazed salmon with heavenly mashed potatoes, and plenty of veggies. I was with a party of four. Everyone commented on their food. We were too hungry to take pictures.

Place was easy to find and delicious food; the portions were ENORMOUS! Waiter was very attentive and friendly, and we had a wonderful experience. Only complaint would be the noise level, however that's not a problem with the restaurant. 4.5/5.
Cerulean62 — Google review
So many cute and unique finds. I really enjoyed browsing the store, and buying my treasures. I wish we would have gotten more, but we only had so much room in our luggage. I would definitely buy from there again, even on line if we never make it back to the area.

Right on the water, but just serves pre-wrapped sandwiches and gifts. Was nice to have the sandwiches on the back deck. Self serve. Owner (or worker?) Was very nice. We stopped there on way to boat cruise.

Monica's Chocolates is a multifaceted establishment that encompasses an American restaurant, gift shop, jewelry store, and clothing boutique. The restaurant offers free off-street parking and is pet-friendly with accessibility features for disabled individuals. Monica, the owner, immigrated from Peru and built the business from scratch, crafting homemade chocolates in the basement daily. While slightly pricey, the delectable chocolates are beautifully presented and worth every penny.
We have been here a few times. The chocolate is divine. The owner walks around and greets and gives out samples. There are also books and jewelry tucked in and around this lovely small business. Looking forward to visiting again.

Wonderful place! We came five years ago and it's still amazing. My wife bought some cranberry chocolates in two visits and today, she bought some Peruvian hot chocolate. WOW ! Creamy, thick and delicious. He even went and took her back into the kitchen and showed her how it was made....so many ingredients. A nice, nice place with great owners.

This place is awesome! The lady who owns this place gave a little tour around her shop and explained all the different types of gourmet chocolates she makes and the places she gets her ingredients. Beautiful jewelry and gifts as well as gourmet coffees and hot chocolate. You can see the time and effort she puts into everything she sells. This place is the finest chocolate shop I have ever been too.

What an unexpectedly clever little shop. Monica has way more than chocolate available. There is quite a display of Peruvian jewelry and sweaters among other things. You really just need to stop in and see for yourself!

Delicious homemade chocolates, beautiful jewelry, and gorgeous sweaters and scarfs made from alpaca wool in Peru. Monica, the owner, is so nice and sweet, she’ll be sure to put a smile on your face. I cannot recommend this store enough!

If you crave fresh chocolate and you are traveling to Lubec, you need to stop at Monica’s. She makes some of the best creations to satisfy your chocolate fix. There are other items that make decent gifts, though the chocolate works just fine for me. It tastes very fresh!

A brief history of Monica's Chocolates. Monica is from Peru she came to the US as an immigrant and didn't speak any english, she learned how to make chocolates from nothing, literally a few bon bons at a time. She has built up the business to what it is today. A very hard working lady who's chocolates are homemade right in the basement every day. She has a successful business that has grown into quite the shop. Famous for her assortment of chocolate and treats, she also sells jewelry, clothing and coffee along with other items. If you are coming through the area it is worth the stop. You'll want to discuss with your partner a budget before entering or you'll ever up buying the whole shop! haha

Awesome little chocolate shop. They're on the pricy side, but this is an excellent chocolatier and worth the cost! Not only are they tasty, but their presentation is beautiful as well. Bonus points that there are adorable Peruvian goods to buy there as well. Many alpaca themed goods as well as bird or turtle ornaments. Additionally, there is some stunning jewellery there and I'm not even a jewellery person. I'll most certainly be back when I'm inevitably in the area again -- next time with my friends in tow!

Even during off season the store is stocked with chocolates and goodies of all sorts! The owner is the sweetest and greatest customer service! Chocolates are amazing!

Awesome little hole in the wall place to get some delicious chocolates. We got to meet Monica and she gave us a tour of where she makes the chocolates and gave us some samples that were delicious. The truffles and nut chocolates we're both really good and we ended up buying a lot of different things.
