The Sweet Palace in Philipsburg is a candy emporium that boasts an extensive selection of over 1,000 different kinds of treats, including hard-to-find candies from the past. In addition to individually wrapped and hard candies, the store offers fresh handmade sweets such as fudge, taffy, caramels, and chocolates. There's even a selection of sugar-free candies available.
Very fun! Most items are priced by the pound, mix and match. Clean. Lots of sugar free options, homemade goodies, and every flavor of jelly bean and taffy imaginable.

Always a wonderful experience to see all the different offerings. The old fashioned decor and decorations make the display of the candies even more special. Definitely worth the trip...your mouth will love it.

This place is sweet tooth heavenly experience. I thought I was going to pass out from a sugar rush coma. This place was so amazing and I love that alot of the chocolates, taffy and fudge are home made. It's so great cause you buy by the pound and you can mix and match candy. Note to people with nut allergies I would not recommend the chocolate in cases or fudge do to cross contamination. Thanks to Lexi who warned me or i would have had a real emergency. But all there are a ton of other candies around for you to try. I love the taffy, bubble gum and other assorted treats. They also had alot of stuff animals which I ended with a cute little red octopus. Sugar-free candy is available.

This is one of the very last 18th century candy stores. Such a fun place to visit. Our kids were amazed at the variety. They have an old soda dispenser machine as well. There are old candies I have not see since I was a kid. The entire downtown was a neat experience.

I was there on the 18th of October. Shirley specializes in making all kinds of chocolate treats including a variety of Fudge. I'm going back to get some more soon. She has nostalgia candies often forgotten when we become adults.
David B. Hunter — Google review
The staff are always friendly, welcoming and helpful. I always buy a bag of the saltwater taffy and a block of fudge when I'm here! The grizzly paws are pretty spectacular too!

This place really had that old school candy store vibe. They have a huge selection of taffy, chocolate, truffles, jelly beans and more! Oh, and fudge!
Kylan Johnson — Google review
They have every kind of candy you want, even some when we were kids I've not seen in years. You got to go here. Candy, candy, candy.
Swampman — Google review
This candy shop has everything. It takes you back to the days when Penny Candy was a thing. Obviously, the candy is a little more expensive now, but I loved the old timey feel. The staff is super helpful and knowledgeable about the candy in the store. It's paid by the pound minus the chocolate, so you can mix it all up if you want. The chocolate is yummy, and the staff member who works the case answers any questions you have. It's a great place to take the kids to show them how life used to be or as an adult to reminisce how life once was.

Oh. My. Goodness! Soooo much Candy. It’s easy to spend $100 as a fam just filling up the bags with a couple of everything you could ever want. From chocolate to sours and everything in between. There’s also a huge variety of sugar free candies/chocolates. The store is very clean and checkout is smooth. Nothing beats the vintage aesthetic. They even have a Penny machine! Definitely recommend to everyone.

We love our annual visit to The Sweet Palace! Before we even arrive, my husband is making a list of all the candies he plans to add to his bag! Not only do they have almost every kind of hard candy and homemade toffee flavors to choose from, their chocolates and fudge selections are out of this world!
Tawnya Becker — Google review
Beautiful shop with huge variety of candies.🍬🍭🍫🍥 My fiance and I came here today from Anaconda and enjoyed the time we spent in there looking around and filling up a couple bags of candy. The ladies who worked there today were very polite and helpful and prices are affordable. We munched on some of our candy on our way home and it is delicious! 😋
Cherie Haugen — Google review
Great nostalgic feel in this candy land shop. I recommend a first pass through the shop without picking anything out as you can end up with WAY too much candy when you get to the end. The homemade chocolates had great flavor, but I wish there were two sizes to the nut clusters as they are huge. It would also be nice to have some smaller bags for the jelly beans as there are 70+ varieties and I prefer to keep the sweet ones separate from the salty ones for flavor mixing. Tons of variety and nice staff make this a great shopping stop.

6/2022 Amazing museum. Mining related ,also other artifacts from this time period . Cowboy stuff, Indian stuff, tools, sewing, farming stuff, printing, fashion...all right there for you to see and walk right up to. Couldn't believe the HUGE piston driven air compressor used for mining. Love the mine tunnel with sound effects.Took a bit over an hour to view maybe 6 rooms . Really well done . Cheap entrance fee.

Incredible museum for the size of the community. Great mining and Native American displays.

If you come to Philipsburg, this place is a must see! The basement has an old mining cart and tracks! Lots of good stuff for us history buffs.

In the case of my visit, i went for a celebration of a friends well lived life. Tha accomodation of the facility for that event was great. Room to spread out, in this pandemic times. I will go back this summer to enjoy the museum.

I love getting my hands dirty and it was so worth it even if it was 30 degrees outside.I bought the $45 bag to search and I did find sapphires, quartz and agate.I really enjoyed the store and the experience I had was amazing of panning for treasures. The shop itself has so my different items to buy and the jewelry is so fabulous.

Received bag of huge gravel up to fist sized. Emailed about size of concentrate and was told an autistic boy fills the bags and sometimes doesn't mix equal...only found 4 colorless tiny sapphire after running twice. Was told some people find nothing. So for 110 for some driveway gravel sounds like a good gamble to you, good luck
Jesse Fousha — Google review
Had a lot of fun, staff was great. In hindsight probably would do the normal bag and not the seeded one. We had a great time but it took a bit to learn how to spot the sapphires.

I ordered a necklace for my girlfriend for her birthday, and she had some issues with it. I reached out to the company and they responded immediately, going above and beyond in a way that exceeded my highest expectations. Beautiful jewelry, EXCEPTIONAL customer service. 6 stars out of 5!

Thank you Montana Gems for making our experience great! Born and raised in Montana but this is the first time taking my kids and the grandmas to mine for Sapphires. My 16 year old bought his own bag and ended up with over 8 karats worth of Sapphires. He chose to get two cut and will make jewelry out of them. Thank you for your friendly atmosphere and also great staff!
Annie Zenner — Google review
Purchased 3 bags. I dry sifted them all first which all the sapphires were located in the fine loose gravel. Then soaked the mud clumps which only contained tiny rock or nothing. I was so excited to try this. The employee told me that the bags are not filtered. I find it hard to believe. I'm sure the mine shifts out the big ones and then give a few in each bag. I did get about 5 to 7 per bag. Very tiny. Lots of crystal tiny pieces. I was very disappointed and the price was crazy. I really was hoping my gut feeling was wrong. I was optimistic however it was disappointing. Kids would enjoy the experience. Hopefully they become more fair in the future. I plan to do business with Gem Mountain. Don't waste your money at this location. Definitely go to Gem mountain and buy the real dirt. They remove large rocks through a large sifter and you get excellent quality gravel to sift.

My mother sent 2 different orders to me for my birthday. I have had so much fun with this. Highly recommended visiting or ordering from Montana Gems. I'm still learning what I am doing and looking for, but it is interesting and fun. If I ever get to Montana, I will certainly make a stop here.

Great messy experience for kids of all ages and their parents too! Various rock bags and price ranges to meet all needs/wants. We loved the water trough and found lots of fun gems, stones, fossils and shark teeth! Plus the kids get to take home a geode to crack open. I guess it is bath night again. Must do while in town!
Katie Whitestone — Google review
We loved this place! I did a lot of research and had originally planned to go to the gem place across the street. I am so happy I did the research! Montana Gems is a 'mom and pop' operation. They offer virgin gravel to search through and a variety of gravels with different things to find. Perfect family fun and just as pefect for any group! We will be ordering gravel to have fun with at home! The family and employees are wonderful!

I ordered a box of mine dirt from their website and had an issue with it. I emailed them and they got back to me within a day and resolved the issue. Amazing customer service, fun product, I highly recommend.

Oh my heck - we LOVE Holly at the Sapphire Gallery! Not only is she very professional and knowledgeable about Sapphires, she has the very best sense of humor ever - we always look forward to seeing her at the Gallery. She assessed our sapphire finds and sent them out to be fired, our next visit to see her will be to design a couple of rings with these stones - so excited! Thank you Holly!!

Edit: just a few short months later and I need to revise this review, because stones have fallen out of my necklace that was custom made here. I only wore the necklace a handful of times and one of the stones already fell out. . . We got my engagement ring custom made here (with our own sapphires) and then had all my wedding jewelry custom made here (also with our own sapphires). They did amazing work, were supper patient as we worked through what we needed/wanted, and we super affordable. They worked with us to make each piece unique.
Madelyn Allovio — Google review
Sapphire Gallery heat treated sapphires for me and they are BEAUTIFUL. This place had a quick turnaround time (less than 4 weeks) and were great to work with. And more affordable than the competitor in town! Highly recommend!
Kenna Christensen — Google review
They did a great job heat-treating and faceting my sapphires, and completed the job sooner than expected. Very happy with their skills and customer service!
Christiane Youngstrom — Google review
We had an amazing time digging up some beautiful sapphires from the rock bags!! Location is super cool and staff were super friendly!! Holly had us cracking up during our gem appraisal after the panning process. The gentlemen were both very kind and helped us identify the stones since we were inexperienced. Awesome experience, we had a blast, and highly recommended!!

Great experience! Leslie helped my wife find the PERFECT ring for our 20th anniversary. So glad we stopped in for a visit!

My daughter lost the back of her earring. The company was incredibly helpful in getting a replacement out to us quickly. Top notch customer service. Cannot recommend them enough. Thank you, Holly.
Blake Holman — Google review
I stopped in and found a gorgeous necklace that I was interested in. It was expensive but I decided to treat myself. One lady was cleaning a piece of jewelry for a non paying customer and another was showing piece after piece to another customer. I had been camping and probably didn't look like a jewelry person, but I walked out after standing there for 15 minutes and not even receiving a glance from either clerk. A smile and a "be right with you" would have gone a long way.

The service at Doe Brothers Restaurant was exceptional, with polite and kind treatment. They acknowledged and apologized for any wait, but the outstanding food made it worth it. Although tempted to have a double patty on the burger, one was sufficient. Dining with family resulted in everyone leaving satisfied, having enjoyed a full meal with no complaints. It is highly recommended, as the price is reasonable considering the quality of both the food and service.
Very quaint and vintage restaurant/diner. The food was incredible and the employees were very kind.

They have a few vegetarian items on the menu. Cool place, interesting history, nice and funny servers, good food. One bathroom wasn't in the best condition.

Nice atmosphere in this retro soda fountain restaurant. The menu is varied and there are lots of fun fountain drinks. We had a Wagyu burger and a veggie burger with sweet potato fries and onion rings. The Wagyu was very tasty. Nice sized patty and well cooked. They did not have lettuce or tomato, but the taste was good. Veggie burger was OK, not great. The onion rings were perfect. Not oily. The owner/server was kind of cold and unfriendly, but we still enjoyed the meal.

Great food: Bison burger, Elk burger, chicken strips, fries, salad bar -all fresh and tasty. Was up charged $1.50 without explanation. When this was brought to the waitress’ attention, only $1.00 was corrected. We were sat directly across from the bathroom, near the very back of the dining room (gross; as a table should not be there…3ft. from the bathroom door). Staff friendly. Food great.
J C Lemmon — Google review
Great food. Awesome service. Just tried the Pizza and was not disappointed. But I never am.
Travis Kelley — Google review
Everyone in our group of eight had a fabulous meal. My bison bacon cheddar burger was cooked perfectly. My husband had the huckleberry barbecue pulled pork sandwich and it was delicious. The kids menu was generous and they make their own phosphates and cream sodas to order. The huckleberry cream soda would be worth a trip back. We arrived at 11:00 am, just as they were opening. By the time we were done, the restaurant was full with a line out the door. Great service.

Loved this old school diner feel and it perfectly located in this cute little town. I decided to enjoy a nice burger and shake which kept me full for the whole day.
Ari GB — Google review
Good was good, although I had major indigestion all afternoon after eating here, which is very uncommon for me. I think maybe the wagyu beef burger was too greasy or something, although it did taste great.
Arin Peters — Google review
Great quaint burger and ice cream stop. Burgers - they got your Angus, Elk, and Bison burgers. Heck they even have a veggie burger. Salad bar is a nice option. Brian is overworked and under paid. I tipped him extra. Also, share a banana split with the table. Look at the art piece this ice cream confection of perfection is.
Mark Flaherty — Google review
Excellent Flavor! Bun toasted just right with plenty of veggie toppings to add to the burger. Quite a few vegetarian options with your choice of black bean or beyond beef patty. Sweet potatoes were delicious and crispy. Fast and friendly service. My one regret was not having enough room for ice cream.
Sandy Weaver — Google review
Neat, old-fashioned soda fountain place. The phosphate sodas are great, as are the shakes and food. Friendly service. My son, who hates eating out, keeps asking when we’ll be able to return. Will definitely go back.
tandc4vr — Google review
the service was amazing, we were treated politely and with nothing but kindness. they apologized for the wait but it was well worth it for the amazing food. I almost went with a double patty on my burger, but one was more than enough! I went with my family and everyone left with a full belly, satisfied with the service, and no complaints. 10/10 would recommend, and well worth the price, which, might I add, is not at all expensive, especially for the quality of the food and service.
