Bar & grill
Restaurant
Moose Preserve Bar & Grill is a rustic restaurant with a hunting lodge vibe, adorned with moose trophies and antlers. They specialize in serving wild game and various meats. Despite the challenges of maintaining consistent quality over time, this establishment has successfully done so for approximately 25 years. The food consistently exceeds expectations, while the service stands out as above average. Unlike most places where outdoor seating feels cramped on the street, Moose Preserve offers a clean and serene patio area.
It was a nice evening with two dishes, split in halves so we can try two dishes! I didn’t care for kettle chips but instead waiter was kind to bring cole slaw which was different and good. Rodeo burger had a nice flavor! It’s decorated for the holiday!

Very nice place, loved the atmosphere, the food was delicious even though i dont eat fried food, the fried chicken and chips (fries) were tasty and yummy. You'll find southwestern dishes in the menu, the service was excellent and all staff was very nice and friendly. There isnt much to do in this area, i was there on a business trip, and this restaurant was recommended and me and my friends we all enjoyed dinner.

It's rare that any bar/restaurant can maintain the same level of food and service for a long time. I've been eating at the Moose Preserve for something around 25 years. The food is always good. The service is always better than average. I dislike eating outside most places because you always feel like you are sitting in the street. The Preserve has a patio area that is clean and quiet. The other great thing about this place is the relaxed atmosphere. Even when they are busy the servers never get excited or rushed. It's a calm quiet place for a good meal.

Outstanding in every way. The steak frites were fantastic. The best fish fry I've had in Oakland County. And under $20 as well: a bargain. The cookies at the end topped it off. Like grandma would make them.
Nick Bruni — Google review
Overall we had a wonderful time. The server was wonderful and very attentive and the food was good,, but we had a couple of issues with chicken that wasn't done and a meal that was dropped and had to be redone. With all that said, we know things can happen so we will go back.

Great atmosphere and friendly service. Food quality was also very good. I recommend checking out the venison chili even if you're not a fan of venison. Great flavor! Reasonable prices and good service are a winning combination.
Philip Seely — Google review
The food was great. Plenty of space for large gatherings and the bar area is large. I really like the feel of an up north cabin. Very wood-sy with a nice fireplace. There is a couch and seating in front of the fireplace that seems very cozy. There are hundreds of dog photos on the walls when you walk in the front door, kinda curious as to what the dog photos represent.

Loved the pretzels w cheese & Sriracha sauces, wild side salad had BOLD basil vinaigrette dressing. Would go back. Did not realize there is a “north” & “south”side. Ambiance on south side looked much more inviting. Will sit there next time. Megan in bar was knowledgeable, friendly & fast. Don’t miss this gem

Great spot right off Woodward. Cabin vibes, solid food, cold drinks, good service. Plenty of parking, give it a shot. Personally enjoyed the Golden Margarita.

Nice atmosphere, the food and service were perfect. Bring your appetite. The warm chocolate chip cookies at the end were perfect.

This place holds a special spot among my favorites, having visited it no less than 20 times, with each visit as delightful as the last. Additionally, the ambiance there truly resonates with me, enhancing the overall experience every time.

Great restaurant with a great atmosphere and delicious foods! They got buffalo meatloaf, shepards pie burgers made from buffalo, Manistee, Hancock and certified angus beef and more. The decorations are great, fish on the ceiling and a mummy coffin even!

Like the deadwood in Northville, I love the unique protein options. I haven’t had smelt in 20 plus years, and was excited to see it on the menu. I was only disappointed when my plate was cleared. My son had a burger that always satisfies. The service was great, plenty of parking and seating and nice atmosphere that is outdoorsy without being redneck. Fine balance.

We had our department Christmas dinner with appetizers, drinks, and dinner. The service was exceptional, and the food was yummy. I can highly recommend the ribeye.

American restaurant
Bill's is a classic and renowned restaurant that offers a diverse menu featuring American, French, Italian, and raw-bar cuisine in an upscale-rustic setting. The hamburger is a standout dish with its perfectly cooked patty, delicious bun, and flavorful toppings. The truffle fries are also exceptional - crispy, fluffy, and infused with just the right amount of truffle flavor. Additionally, the east coast oysters are fresh and delightful.
We were greeted as soon as we walked in by the hostess. We felt very welcomed. The atmosphere was cozy and peaceful. Our waitress was Jessica I believe and she was great. We enjoyed the drinks, appetizers, entrées and the Carrot Cake we ordered to go. We ordered Truffle Fries, Lamb Meatballs, Filet Mignon, Pork Chops, Split Pea Soup. I would love to visit the place during brunch.
Kenitha Rabb — Google review
I mean this in the best possible way, Bill's is the best version of a casual dining experience. The food is very good. Having said that, the drinks were exceptional and the bartenders know their craft. The wait staff provided a high level of service without too much pretense. You could tell there were high levels of coordination on all levels of service. Would definitely return

Stopped for a snack as we missed lunch. Had the kale Caesar, rice balls, crab Louie. Salad was good. Husband loved the rice balls. Crab dish was meh, for $16. No crab flavor; overwhelmed by the dressing. Dressing wasn’t particularly spicy or tangy, just a lot of it. I could’ve been eating lumps of fish for all I know. Two little slices of avocado on top. Service was really slow. I got the feeling this is the kind of place where, if you don’t order drinks, things will happen at a much more lackadaisical pace. I might go back and try the brunch. Or not.

Great ambiance; transport oneself from the bustle of Woodward Av to great American fare in great quality. Service can be a little slow during peak hours (took about 15 min after seating for anyone to stop by or simply bring water) but the wait was worth it. Recommend that you at yourself with good company, leave electronics behind and enjoy conversations they way they were meant to make humans connect.

First time visiting. We went to a table at the bar for drinks and oysters. The drinks and food were good. The service was not as welcoming as we would have expected. The gentlemen that served is was a little brash and not very attentive. We had to flag him down for food. When the oysters came we asked which were eadt and west and he walked away. We had to ask again when he returned. The service really left an impression for us. Under different circumstances more stars would be earned. The food and drinks were a 5 but the service was a 2.

The hamburger was cooked to perfection with a juicy patty, a delicious bun, and all the toppings I was looking for. It was definitely a highlight of my meal. The truffle fries were also a standout. They were crispy, fluffy, and infused with the perfect amount of truffle flavor. Lastly, the east coast oysters were fresh and delicious, which is always a great sign when it comes to seafood. Overall, I would rate my experience at Bills an 8 out of 10. The food was great, the service was friendly and attentive, and the atmosphere was pleasant. I would definitely recommend this restaurant to anyone looking for a satisfying meal in Bloomfield Hills.

Was on my own and had a great dinner and great dinner as per usual. Very comfortable and consistent...that's a very safe place to go for business lunch or dinner. You will never get disappointed. Had the beef tartar. My favorite. With the house made fries and truffle. Delicious. Thank you and see in a couple of weeks!

This place hides in plain sight right on Woodward Ave. I ordered the filet mignon with broccoli and mashed potatoes. The food was prepared really well and the wait wasn’t long. Our server was also extremely attentive and courteous. It’s a good place for an after-work outing or simple date night. It’s definitely worth checking out!

Usually an excellent experience. But they were way off yesterday. The waitress had an attitude from the start and even my husband noticed it, and stuff like that doesn’t usually bother him. We wanted the fish special. She said they were out. Who runs out of the fish special at lunchtime on a Friday during lent? (They should have crossed it off on the board). We wanted oysters, not till 4 pm she said. Ended up with pea soup which was good and lamb meatballs, just ok. We love Bill Roberts restaurants but it will be quite a while before we try Bills again. Would like to see a freshened up menu.

Steak house
Eddie Merlot's is a high-end restaurant that offers premium cuts of aged meat, fresh seafood, and an extensive selection of wines in a luxurious setting. The establishment is known for its beautiful ambiance and exceptional service. While the appetizers are delightful, some diners have experienced issues with certain dishes. For example, the Brussels sprouts were undercooked and excessively firm, while the steak was served rare instead of being cooked to medium-well perfection.
It's an amazing restaurant with everything best! The place itself is very nice and clean; it makes guests feel cozy, hungry:-), and important. The art on the walls and lighting are very elegant. It is definitely expensive, but their food is delicious, and service is just exceptional. A very good way to celebrate "anything."

My wife took me here for my birthday celebration. What a great restaurant to enjoy it. The service was great, the atmosphere was electric, and the food was phenomenal. You simply must try the shareable cognac brownie. We can't wait to dine here again.

My boyfriend and I decided to come here for our one year anniversary, and had high expectations because our favorite restaurant was Ruth’s Chris and we thought it would be almost impossible to top that. Boy, were we wrong! Beautiful artwork, a warm golden ambience that just sets the mood for a wonderful night. The food was phenomenal! Eddie Merlots never skipped a beat with their amazingly complex flavor combos and refreshing drink options. Not to mention the service was so welcoming, our waiter, Helios, was very knowledgeable, attentive, and funny! He made this an experience we would never forget! And just to top it all off, I have a shellfish allergy that tends to be a burden when going out to eat at fine dining restaurants, our waiter made me feel very comfortable and confident in making sure that I would not have any cross contamination, even when my boyfriend ordered the lobster, they made sure to cook, set, and box our food as seperate as possible to ensure my safety. Needless to say, this place has now become our new favorite restaurant! We can’t wait to come back, and try our new Platinum club membership card! Thank you Eddie Merlots!

We decided to come here for our anniversary. Let me say it's a nice establishment. The Calamari was the best thing coming out of the kitchen. I would suggest the wedge salad as well. Now comes those items i did not like. The soup was watery and had one piece of meat less an inch. My wife enjoyed her main entrée but my steak temperature was room temperature. I could have gotten it without the topping. After scraping it off, I used some of my wife zip sauce. This made the steak taste better. Overall, I would visit this place again for cocktails and appetizers. Our waitress was great as well.

The ambiance is beautiful at this restaurant. Such a classy place. The food and drinks was really good. The staff from the front door, the bar and our waiter was extremely friendly and tentative. There is no bad spot to sit in this restaurant.

I frequent fine dining establishments and this has quite a bit of cons more than pros. The ambiance is superb! Amazing wine selection. Decor is impeccable and spacious. They have all the fine dining bells and whistles, including complimentary valet. The food does not match the ambiance unfortunately. The salad was fresh but lacked flavor. The croutons were scarce and hollow. The dressing lacked flavor and tasted very much like anchovies. The mojo shrimp and scallops was not a good choice for me. It had this smoky- like cumin flavor. I just don’t think that pairs well with seafood. Should’ve stuck to my usual. My date enjoyed his andouille sausage, shrimp and steak. The crème brûlée was bland and tasted a day old. The oysters were overcooked to me. Most of it was stuck to the shell. The wine was amazing. Overall I may return to try the banana foster and wine. I think there are other choices in the area that matches the price and ambiance. My waiter Larry was amazing!

I dined here tonight, absolutely lovely experience! Our waitress was fabulous, she made sure to celebrate my birthday with delicious dessert! Impeccable service! The food was top-notch. I loved the oysters, steak, crab cakes, shrimp, and mashed potatoes. Plus, my drink was great, too. I had a wonderful time, a great place for dates, business dinners, ladies' nights, or celebrations. Will be back again!
Annora Johnson — Google review
Beautiful place, great service. The appetizers were delicious. The main course however, Brussels sprouts were too hard to eat, they were not cooked enough; steak was supposed to be medium well but it was bright red. I think the issue is just that they’re understaffed, I don’t think the chef really has a hard time making a 4oz filet medium well. My boyfriend enjoyed his meal, he had no complaints whatsoever. Very clean place, dishes were spotless, no dust or webs visible. I recommend the sweet and spicy shrimp if you want a delicious appetizer.

I love sitting at the bar and enjoying some of their special cocktails and the bar menu during happy hour. One of my all time favorites is the beef carpaccio. The cocktails are made with fresh ingredients and always delicious! They recently added more items to the happy hours menu so definitely will try out more in the future!

My husband and I were celebrating our anniversary just a few weeks ago at Eddie’s. Well first off, my expectations were set TOO HIGH (My parents have been going for years) and my experience was up and down. Our waiter did not seemed eager to help/ Service us. He seemed very distracted and irritated that he had to help one more table. He barely wanted to give us a drink menu, or the specials , we felt like a bother to him. So to say the least , our customer service experience wasn’t the greatest. He definitely tried to make it up towards the end of the night. Now to the fooood! Our food had its ups and downs. We had the lobster Mac, Waygu, Oyster Rockefeller, calamari, bison, crab cake and a few drinks. Not much flavor in the food, all our drinks were great, We ordered a lot , and everything was good (Not mind blown). Overall I really wanted our food and experience to be better for our Anniversary!
Kay R — Google review
Absolutely a complete waste of time and money. Service was amateur and embarrassing. No refills, unless an overpriced wine or cocktail. Apps, desserts, etc, served without plates or silverware and when brought tossed down on the table. I had to get up to get my own things at least three times. We were a large party and ordered many items. Oysters full of shell pieces. Oysters Rockerfeller just gloppy. Calamari in a hideous puffy batter. Carpaccio served with pile of potato chips on top. Ribeye was tough and tasteless. Mojo shrimp and scallops not even remotely Cuban. Extremely over salted and over cooked and served with as unauthentic a rice, just loaded with cumin and salt, no beans, and with corn, as could be! Embarrassing. The lobster on the mash and Mac overcooked and disgusting with the grainy claw tips thrown in for an appearance of abundance. The extremely overpriced filet was good. 10 dollars to valet park. The bread was good and butter soft. Thankfully, I was a guest and not the host. Nor will I ever be.

Mexican restaurant
Mex Bloomfield is a contemporary eatery with vibrant decorations that serves Mexican cuisine, featuring a variety of tacos and tamales. It was the first time dining out for many since the pandemic, and the restaurant provided ample space to ensure proper social distancing. The food was exceptional, and the service received high praise. The restaurant's design was also admired, prompting visitors to capture numerous photos. A server named Derrick stood out for his excellent service.
The big reveal, I liked the environment with the mirrors and swanky style before the remodeling. However, with the remodel it has changed to brighter and more open, which I also really liked. So decor being a personal toss up for preference but I liked it. Our server was wonderful. She went out of her way to help with choices. For example, the Kale salad I asked to substitute the kale for another type of lettuce and the suggestion was to use Bibb lettuce. Brilliant! It was a perfect salad. I suggest you try that with the dressing on the side so as not to overpower the flavor with salad dressing. Nachos to go. Had those. It's a huge serving which is great. But it didn't travel well, so those for sure are a dine-in treat. Drinks were fancy. Pretty in Pink, don't waste your time. It's too bland. No pop. Tastes like lemonade but there is no lemonade listed. Needed more coconut water maybe or alcohol. For sure alcohol. Try a spicy skinny margarita instead. Trust me on this one. Make a reservation here. You'll need one they're very busy.

I'm not a huge fan of Tex Mex but this place was pretty good and had an awesome ambience. We ordered a bunch of food lol. To start the drinks were potent and tasty. The chips, guacamole & queso were great for starters. I ordered the shrimp and mahi mahi tacos, my fav of the two was the mahi mahi. I also ordered shrimp quesadillas. Now this was 🔥🔥. We had a great time for Mother's Day and our waiter was great. They also have a dope wall of hot sauces you can choose from & take your table.

Came here for a business lunch and a then dinner with my wife. Both times the food was great. The guacamole is so tasty. I like mine with a lot of lime juice and they don’t skip out on it. Had one of their salad bowls for lunch and for dinner a steak/shrimp combo. Both items were well seasoned with just a little heat. The staff is super friendly, our waitress Sierra was great. Drinks were great, generous pours with the booze in the margaritas. Just enough to give you a little kick but did not overpower the flavors.

This was my first time since the pandemic that I chose to dine in. There was a lot of room and social distancing was no problem at all. The food was excellent and the service was excellent. I loved the design of the restaurant too, (I took a lot of pictures of this place). Our Server, “Derrick” was awesome. Try this place. I feel you will have the same experience. Keep in mind, one Reviewer said that the menu and food options were minimal, but I believe it could be from the pandemic, low staff and keeping the menu choices with a smaller selection is smart. Less people eating indoor, keeping everyone safe, and trying to keep a staff employed is the best choice nowadays.

I've been a few times, our last visit is since the remodeling. The dinning Room looks great, fresh and bright. Sat at the bar with my husband and got the everything Guacamole and Enchiladas Verde and two cocktails plenty to fill the two of us up and very tasty. The Enchiladas could have had a bit more sauce... A little dry but the Guacamole was the bomb as always.

This place has changed a lot since I visited then last time, it looks so much better now. Food was delicious, drinks were good too. Lots of vegetarian options in the menu. We went to celebrate a successful fashion event, waiters were very nice friendly and prompt. I would definitely recommend this place. We will be back soon.

My wife and I had a great time at MEX. We loved the boldness of the design and colors of the restaurant. It certainly had a great affiance. They have a beautiful bar area with many variations of tequila lining it above. This was a dinner date for us and our first time at this restaurant. They have a simple menu with just enough appetizer and main course choices to not be overwhelming. The same goes for the drink choices. We both had margaritas, which were quite tasty. For entrees my wife had the steak fajitas and I had the mahi-mahi taco platter, with one of them being chicken. My wife only made it through a third of her steak fajitas. They certainly gave her a lot. I had no problems finishing my tacos. It was just the right amount to be feeling and satisfying. The service we had was impeccable. Our waitress checked on us often and was very attentive. This is the place we were gladly come back to for another date night.

The food was great! We had enchiladas and pineapple chicken and both were well made and had a lot of flavor. The service was spotty, I'm guessing because they just opened and the staff is not fully up to speed. Our server was very pleasant and apologized for the waiting.

Wow, it was my first time here. I enjoyed the atmosphere & music. It made me feel like I was on vacation, forgot I was In Michigan with the decor and beautiful seating. This is a must try , everything was great from the guacamole to the drinks & tacos were the bomb. Definitely will be coming back .. & make sure u book ahead it’s very busy .

The renovations look great, but the food is not that great. Shrimp tacos are made in a Flour tortilla with breaded shrimp. Tastes like something you would get in a chili’s- American Mexican food! Chips and guacamole looks beautiful but is pre made and the nachos are cold! If your order guac ask for fresh chips/ nachos. Service is decent, staff is trying hard but the food doesn’t hit the spot!

Roadside B&G is a trendy American eatery that serves elevated cuisine and creative cocktails in an nostalgic roadside diner setting, complete with car-themed decor and an outdoor patio. Despite being short-staffed during the post-covid reopening period, the service remains commendable, with attentive and friendly waitstaff. The food is exceptional, although there were some minor complaints about waiting for a table even with a reservation and being seated outdoors without choice on a hot day.
Finding this place was like a finding a hidden gem. The food was all super amazing and our waitress was absolutely wonderful. She knew the menu items in detail, gave great recommendations, and was just on point with service. Everything on the menu had very reasonable pricing and well worth the money. Recommendation - the brussel sprouts and the salmon were just perfect. Check this place out, you won't be disappointed.

A definite hands down 5 Star experience, service and meal. Thanks to our waiter Thomas. We are local and have been looking at B&G for about 2 years. Finally decided on a visit tonight and what a treat for sure. The appetizer of warm potato chips were to die for toped with veggies bacon and blue cheese and more was a perfect start. The waiter made a special order non alcoholic raspberry lemonade which was as good as it gets. As for the main course I had the blackened shrimp taco salad and it was delicious to put it mildly. My wife had a salmon that was absolutely exquisite as she put it . To end the evening we both had great fresh Sumatra coffee and the icebox cake which was as good as the rest of the visit. We both highly recommend and Definitely will be back again.

Honey chicken with veggies was superb! Burrito was also very good. The prices are high but so is the quality of the food. The ice cream sundae was good, but I was disappointed that it didn’t come with the hazelnut cookie that was mentioned on the menu. The music was a little too loud for my taste, but overall the ambience of the restaurant itself is elegant, and it’s evident that the waiters really care about their customers on a personal level.

Our party of 6 arrived with a reservation and was immediately seated. Our server Diveen was friendly, took our humor in stride and was attentive. The atmosphere is upscale with a nice beer, wine and liquor menu highlighted with local flavor. The food menu is also filled with local flavor highlighted with whitefish, cherries and apples. The food was a bit too salty for my taste, but others thought it was fine. A relaxing night out for a good dinner.

Came here for my son's high school graduation dinner, and it was a great experience. This was last summer, and covid restrictions were just lifting, they were understaffed and very busy, but the service was still good, the waiters and waitresses are all really wonderful. The food is great, the only complaint that I do have is that even though we had a reservation, we still had to wait about 15 minutes for our table, and we were seated outside without being given a choice, the weather was hot and if we had been given a choice we would have sat inside.
Veronica Browne — Google review
Lots of local beer and cider, friendly environment, they take reservations! Tacos are great, as is the Michigan salad.
Michelle Bissonette — Google review
Our waiter Chris was amazing and very attentive! He made great and honest recommendations. I will request him on my next visit. The food was good. They were a little stingy with the tartar sauce portion. My family and I enjoyed our visit. P.S. They don't serve ranch.
Shanay — Google review
Loved the brussel sprouts appetizer. Fish and Chips were quite good, batter not too heavy, beautifully cooked to dark golden brown. Just enough "chips", not a basket filled with potatoes and a tiny portion of fish. Good proportions of fish to chips. Chocolate cake was so good I neglected to get a pic before the plate was picked clean by the table! Waiter neglected to bring one drink order and missed one dessert so service could have scored higher. A bit loud for conversation, but not horrible. Definitely recommend.
Lynn “Pencilmarks” — Google review
Great food, quick service. Only negative was the high noise level due to the ambiance in the restaurant. It wasn’t bad enough to ruin the dinner, but did make conversation a bit challenging. Overall atmosphere was energetic and lively. Both my colleague and I tried the taco salad and really enjoyed it. Doesn’t look as good as it tastes, it’s really very good.

We have been to The Roadside many times. Always good food and service. Last night Sarah was our sever and she was excellent. Attentive and knows the menu. I tried one of the specials. Pan fried scallops and shrimp, corn puree, blackened roasted green beans, crispy prosciutto. Spectacular collection of flavors. The scallops were perfectly cooked and succulent. When finished I was contentedly full, but craved one more scallop to savor. Also had a side of their tartar sauce. Fantastic

Food was horrible. It took forever for them to get food out. Cheap quality frozen battered fish (they did not hand batter it themselves!!) was not cooked properly. Undercooked and totally saturated with oil. So they did not have their fryer up to the proper temp. Fries and potato wedges were old and nasty. When it was brought up to the waitress she said she would have them remake it. I told them not to bother with mine only remake my girlfriends, but she had them remake mine as well. I will say this, the waitress was very good and the french onion soup was very good. However, the food quality was at best on par with Rams Horn or Denny's and priced way above that (over $20 for fish & chips). They didn't even discount the bill after everything that happened. Definitely not going back again!

The customer service from Amy was superb. She was very helpful and knowledgeable with the menu options and specials. The appetizers were so good I ordered the Short Rib Tacos for my meal. We shared the Pineapple Upside-down Cake and it was also delicious...
