Fort Lee Historic Park, Palisades Interstate Park Commission

Mentioned on
Park
Sights & Landmarks
The Fort Lee Historic Park features scenic vistas of the Palisades Interstate Parkway as well as a reconstructed Revolutionary War camp. The park is situated near the George Washington Bridge, making it an interesting overlook for visitors in New York City. The visitor center was closed when I visited, but there are signs detailing the history of the area and information about nearby attractions.
I enjoy coming here with family and friends to take pictures and take in the scenery. You can even spot some deers here! So pretty with an interesting history.

Relaxing green space with short trails that lead to river, bridge and city views. It's free and open to the public, parking is metered and not very expensive. The space is not massive but it's a nice place to go for a stroll and there's historical sites that kids can have a lot of fun learning along the way.

Lovely park! Rode across GWB to visit it. Cicadas buzzing like mad. Turkey, squirrel chipmunk and bird calls. Certainly an escape from the hustle of NYC! Loved reading about revolutionary war history and where words come from! Visitor center was closed when I arrived.

Very nice view where u could see the Washington bridge, parking fee is too high, $2.5/h in the weekend

Named after Revolutionary General Charles Lee, Fort Lee is located on the New Jersey side of the mighty Hudson River and - Chris Christy not withstanding - within easy reach of Manhattan for both pedestrians as well as automotive visitors thanks to the George Washington Bridge. After crossing the bridge a visit to Fort Lee Historic Park is only a stone throw away and should be on any visitor’s list of attractions in New Jersey. Make the short drive or the steep hike up to the top of the grandiose Palisades and find yourself in lush greenery and tranquil surroundings.

Wonderful place to hang out with your love ones, friends etc. There are so many options that you can do such as hiking, walking, sightseeing, to have a picnic, and you can also ride your bike. Parking is also easy and cheap!

This park is a great place to go on a hike, have a picnic, or just enjoy views of the George Washington Bridge. There are multiple entrances and Parking Lots. Try to pick the parking lot that best suits your activity. For hiking, I enjoy starting at the top parking lot off of Palisades Parkway. For picnics, I recommend parking towards the bottom on the riverside. For casual strolls, like when we walk our dog, there's a parking lot you enter from Edgewater, where after a short walk, you get a great view of the George Washington Bridge.

You are literally so close to the bridge. Youll have to pay a small amount for parking, but the view is beautiful and it's perfect for having a picnic. You can't play with a ball or anything of the sort since it's that close to the bridge. Our frisbee is somewhere down there

Awesome park! The park has many historical features including several cannon barbette's and a very informative visitor center with gift shop. On the northern end is a great view of the George Washington Bridge.

Calm and relaxing but short and amazing views of the city and the bridge

Nice place to visit with some nice views and interesting American history but they now charge for parking. $1.25 per hr during the week and $2.50 per hr on weekends. This is a state park, right?

This is a great place for a weekend hike near the city. Quite accessible by transport. The visitor center here opens at 10 am. It becomes a bit confusing to understand the start of the trail even with maps. The visitor center area just has a small easy historic park trail of less than a mile which doesn't really connect with the other main trails. The long path trail entrance has been closed for quite a few weeks now, so if you want to start the long trails you need to go to the Hudson terrace entrance of the park which is quite far from the actual main entrance and there is no internal connection as such since the path is closed for now. Once you reach the correct spot it is quite easy to navigate with the trail markers. To reach the picnic areas it is a steep walk down but the steps are properly carved out and it is manageable. We started the Allison's loop, met with Carpenter's trail and walked down to the Ross Dock picnic area, which is a very pretty spot with washrooms, benches, parking and a good view. Overall a good experience for a quick near the city unplanned hike.

Nice park with beautiful views of the river, bridge, and city. The building was closed during my visit. Looked like nice walking trails to go further into the park. No pets allowed on signs going into the park.

What a view of George Washington Bridge less than 100 steps from the parking lot of Fort Lee historic park. The parking lot is metered for 1 to 3 hour, you pay a dollar only and pay exact change. If you are expecting a machine to give you change, money is gone. I deposited $5 to the machine, thinking that $4 change would come back. The machine said over the payment, so I canceled the transaction but gave me a ticket for a maximum of 3 hours. Money is gone. Later on, I discovered the sign on the top of the machine says pay exact change. While paying meter, you have to type a three digit code written on the parking floor. This park gives amazing views of GWB, and the history of the place is priceless. I will come back for sure when the weather warms up a little bit.

Wonderful park with some of the est views of the George Washington BRidge you can see. There is a small museum there which is free but accept donations. Lots of interesting small exhibits there about the historic park. That museum is now closed due to COVID but will open again in time. The grounds itself are also nice with sme nice trails and even some cannons. There was also a flat fee at the front entracne years ago but that has been changed over to paying at a muni meter once you park. As there are very few muni meters and lots of spaces, you may find yourself waiting on a long line to pay during peak days and times. You can exit the park and ake a short walk right onto the GWB walk/bike pathway which is a great experience. It does get windy up there so stay warm.

IPIC Theaters is a high-end cinema chain that offers luxurious seating, gourmet light bites, and cocktails as well as in-theater service. It has reserved seating, which means you don't need to worry about getting a good spot. The seats are comfortable with ample space and reclining options. Additionally, customers can order food and drinks from their seats while enjoying the movie. However, during peak times there may be long lines at the concession stand due to limited staffing.
Came to this theater for the first time on my birthday and I must say it's exceptional. The food is great, the experience is amazing and the team of employees are all nice and friendly. I brought my kids today for the first time and I know they will enjoy the experience. I recommend this theaters. The bathrooms are super clean and smell great. You must try this place and parking is validated and it's in a garage across the street.

We saw Wakanda Forever. Never been here. Theater is awesome! It has a full service bar with happy hour starting at 3pm. I got the Boss Burger delivered to the reclining chairs we sat in and I was pleasantly surprised. That burger was DELICIOUS 😋
Autumn Smith — Google review
IPIC theater has become my go-to theater option, and I couldn't be happier with the experience! Not only is it conveniently located super close to my apartment, but the pricing for two people is an absolute steal at just $32. My girlfriend and I recently had a date night here, and it was nothing short of amazing. We started off with a fantastic movie, and the best part was being able to enjoy a delicious pizza for just $18, along with a refreshing fountain drink for $8. Admittedly, the drink was a bit pricey, but there's always the option to opt for tap water if you want to save a few bucks. The dining options at IPIC are impressive, with a well-stocked bar offering a variety of alcoholic drinks and a diverse food menu to choose from. The theater's bed-like chairs and the accompanying table made it incredibly convenient to enjoy our meal while watching the movie. It felt like having a home theater experience, but with the added luxury of being out for a night on the town. One pro-tip I'd like to share is that parking spots at IPIC are paid using the Passport Parking app. For 3 hours of parking, it only costs $5.40, which is quite reasonable for the area. Also, I must mention that bringing our own blanket and pillow made the whole experience even cozier and more enjoyable. The staff was friendly and accommodating throughout the evening, making us feel truly pampered. All in all, IPIC offers an outstanding theater experience, and I can't wait to return for more movie nights. The combination of convenience, excellent pricing, comfortable seating, and delectable dining options truly sets it apart from other theaters in the area. I wholeheartedly recommend IPIC to anyone looking for a memorable movie night. I'll definitely be coming back for more!

Once again, this is the ONLY way to watch a movie! King Kong X Godzilla was great! Having our very own waiter is top tier. We received warm blankets and, because I don't eat meat, the impossible burger was delicious! Also, this is the second time a celebrity was in the theater enjoying the same amenities! This is truly a experience everyone should enjoy!
Razwanna Moore — Google review
Had a nice time! Staff was nice and serve you beverages, food, and snacks. The mozzarella sticks (triangles) came out fresh and hot. The fish and fries were just okay. Popcorn had free refills. Blankets were available if cold. Parking free up to 4 hrs at the parking garage. Comfortable reclining chairs. Enjoyed my time watching a movie w/ surround sound and would come back again !

The most nicest movie theater I’ve ever been. They have a bar to drink before watching a movie or you can drink at the lounge. They also have deals - on Tuesday’s starting at 3pm .. they have $3 on cocktails but only for Norma Jean , Margarita, Cosmo and Sparking Rosé. Then on Wednesday’s they have half off bottles of wine. The set up of the theater is very spaced out so you don’t see the people next to you. If you get cold - they’ll give you a blanket. The experience overall was very amazing.
Luna — Google review
For the 1st time, it was not bad at all. I enjoyed the private seating. Especially when entering your booth, no 1 is walking past you, disturbing your screen time. Once you ordered your beverages and food, the service was swift. The food came out hot and fresh.
Aisha Hughes — Google review
Awesome movie theatre. Came here to see Spider-Man No Way Home and really enjoyed it. Reserved seating so didn’t have to worry about getting a good seat. Seats were also nicely spaced out and reclined. Can also order drinks/food from your seats and they have a good selection. Only issue was that there was only 1 person in the concession stand, so obviously there was a long line to order anything due to that. But being able to order from your seats makes that inconvenience disappear so still a 5/5 experience.

This was an amazing movie experience! I was blown away. If you are ever in Fort Lee NJ. Make it a point to visit. I will never go to a regular movie theater again!
Tammi Montgomery — Google review
Food is great but let me say I’ve experienced discrimination TWICE. The first time I went me and my partner came upstairs to sit and were randomly asked if we had tickets to watch the movie. They asked if we had shown a worker our tickets. Nobody else was asked this. Again, the second time I came the server I had asked me for my card before I even ordered but never asked a light skinned couple behind me for their card or even to pay before ordering. They need to get it together at this location!!!
Sharibel M — Google review
First time here, was very good. I love the comfortable seating ,I could stretch out my legs. Only thing I'd recommend people is to get tickets ahead of time. We didn't and had to sit in the 1st row which is to close, and we didn't get to experience having waiter service, I don't have that in South jersey. So definitely get tickets ahead of time. But still and awesome place!

Exceptional experience! The theater boasts comfortable seats, impeccable cleanliness, and a staff that is both friendly and accommodating. Their diverse selection of food and drink options, including the delightful burrata margarita pizza and generously sized quesadilla plates, is perfect for sharing. Enjoy the convenience of ordering from your seat, which also happens to be a recliner. Plus, complimentary blankets are provided for an added touch of comfort. Went on sunday so parking was not bad but there is a garage nearby that you can get up to 4 hours of parking if going to ipic

I don’t know what took me so long to get here but I will forever be a returning customer. From the ambiance, environment, customer service, the staff and let’s not forget the food and the drinks oh and the comfortable lounge chairs wwheeewwhh! This place can have all of my money lol! Very nice theater well kept and clean. Great for date night or if you need some much needed “me time.”

Very comfortable theatre with very good projection and sound. Very clean. Large, soft seats also have a plush blanket to keep you cozy. Wait staff is quiet, prompt and friendly and it's fun snacking at your seat. (Don't order tacos unless you want a shower of crumbled chips!) . Food was not bad. Validated parking a block away.

We went on a date night first time at the IPIC, The place itself is beautiful, the bathrooms were high end, love the bar and the wine case when you first walk in, It was a nice experience, the food was pretty good and prices were reasonable. The theater is cozy and the servers were excellent.

Visited IPIC Theater in Fort Lee, NJ this weekend to see The Bob Marley Story. IPIC is one of the best movie theater I've ever been to. From the moment you step inside, you're treated like a VIP. The reclining seats are incredibly comfortable and cozy. The food and drink selection was very good as well, with a variety of options that go beyond the usual movie theater treats. The picture and sound quality are excellent, and the overall ambiance is upscale and inviting. While the ticket prices are higher than average, the experience is well worth it for a special night out. I can't recommend IPIC enough for a luxurious movie experience!
Rhonda Day — Google review
Enjoyed my first experience here! I came during a Sunday matinee to see Thor. I especially liked the convenience of the parking garage directly across the theater. My husband and I upgraded to the Premium seats and enjoyed how comfortable they were. The seats reminded us of airline business class seats with your own little private pod. We ordered snacks including truffle popcorn and the hummus plate. It took about 20min for our popcorn to come out and about 30min for our hummus. The popcorn was so yummy and had the perfect blend throughout the tub. The theater and bathrooms were clean. Overall we would definitely come back for a comfortable movie experience.

Also monuments for the members of the armed forces, the korean comfort women and a piece of the world trade center from post 9/11. I am lucky to live across the street

Well maintained park in Fort Lee. Great place to exercise. They have two baseball/softball fields and plenty of space to set up a volleyball net or play soccer. Nice gym set for younger children. Work out stations for everyone. Update 2024. Still a great local park. Well maintained. I believe they added a new playground for children.

Very relaxing park with a very comfortable walking / jogging path. There are ample benches and a few tables. There’s a children’s playground, baseball field, and exercise equipment. The big green lawn in the middle of the park is a great place to have a picnic on a nice day. They have public toilets on site and a few parking spaces. There a lots of metered parking around the park too. The most recent storm brought a good amount of damage to parks of the park but they have been taped off and being repaired quickly.

Nice cute park, however, signs posted around states NO dogs, and this park is always filled with them. Signs should be reinforced especially if you want to take a nice stroll and not have a dog running and brushing up against you during your walk.

It's just a large meadow with some trees and a tiny playground. Nice for playing ball. Great for sunbathing!!! (You just have to find the right spot).
cpnut99 — Google review
Peaceful park despite the fact dog owners have 0 clue that there are no dogs or pets allowed as per, "the posted signs and official website." PS: I've only noted adults never children walking dogs here, hmm! Aside from this, the junior baseball teams and their families will be comfortable during games (just double/triple check before you settle on the grass).
