The Drive-In Restaurant is a classic spot that has been a local favorite since 1956. It offers picnic table seating and serves up delicious burgers, hot dogs, and homemade root beer floats. The menu includes options like veggie, bison, and turkey burgers as well as gluten-free bun choices. This nostalgic eatery provides high-quality food made with locally sourced ingredients such as beef, vegetables, dairy, and bread from a nearby bakery.
Great nostalgic place! Rare to find drive-ins nowadays, but this one is a rare find! Local beef, vegetables, dairy and bread from a local bakery. High quality food! Great variety on the menu including a kids menu. Excellent root beer that they make themselves. Large outdoor eating area. Wonderful service to the car that was relatively quick. I will definitely go here again! It sits adjacent to mini golf with the outdoor eating area viewing it. Great place to bring the kids! They can golf and you can relax!

Coming here and doing the drive-up option was fun and convenient. The service was very fast and friendly, and the food was good! It tasted fresh and was freshly-made (in fact, it was almost too hot to eat at first!). We had cheese curds, hamburgers, and their root beer. The root beer was delicious, not overbearingly sweet, and I highly recommend drinking it out of a frozen glass. We look forward to coming back!

This place is so perfect when you’re in search of an old fashioned diner that hasn’t changed much. They started in the 1940s! They have amazing burgers and the root beer floats were so perfect!!! They also have mini golf!! I walked around the tiny course just for pictures and they didn’t tell me stop so that made me happy. Must come!!

Excellent little place in a quaint town that has a miniature Stillwater or Sturgeon Bay feel to it. Excellent food - 2 diff burgers, regular fries, sweet potato fries and cheese curds - all VERY good. Hot, fresh, crispy. All a person can ask for. Amazing house-made (brewed?) root beer. Attentive and courteous staff. Excellent experience all around. And how many drive ins are left in this state?? Very unique place and town. Highly recommend a visit..

Took a road trip and found this place when we were looking for a place to eat. The wait to be seated was long- we didn't mind that, but the wait to be even acknowledged was long and that we did mind. The burgers were okay, nothing special - absolutely loved the sweet potato fries though. The kids were excited when they saw the large root beer mug, and disappointed when they tasted the root beer. There wasn't much info on the mini golf discount. The website said "ask about our 2 for 1 mini golf". While we were waiting for our food I went to the mini golf desk and asked about it and was told oh you need to get a kids meal...seriously? I would have ordered my kid a kid's meal then. I might go back for the sweet potato fries, but that is all I would order again.

Good food! Tons of flies and gnats biting us and crawling all over us and our food. Megan was a nice server. Cute uniforms for the female servers. Root beer is very sweet. Fun mini put course on site. Could use more than two bathroom stalls. Always long lines. Took a long time to get in and out for a late Sunday lunch.

This place is really cool! I got the all american hamburger which it was delicious. I also ordered fries and cheese curbs they were also really good. Only bad thing they got my drink wrong and I don’t know if I should have ask for it but no ketchup with the fries. Still they were super nice and I will be coming back. Once I come back I will try the root beer and I will update.

From farm to table fresh! Great dining experience. Food was beyond amazing. Got a nice patio area to eat if you don't want to eat in your car. Also a nice little mini golf course right next to it.

I took a trip to Taylors Falls to get away for the weekend. A few people had told me about "The Drive In," so I wanted to check it out for myself. Because I was traveling alone, I was able to be seated promptly at the bar. I had ordered the chicken strips. The food was okay but nothing amazing. The fries were meh and chicken was great. As for service, I was taken care of by Madelyn. She did a great job and was prompt with service. Here's what's not so great: as soon as I sat down at the bar, I was stung by a bee. I'm not allergic so not a big deal. I get its hard to control pests when it's open air, but the lack of lids on the trash cans by the bar and the absence of bee traps in the immediate area really seem promote large swaths of bees around the cans. I'm not suggesting that this will fix the problem, but it might cut the bees down. All of this said, I'd still recommend this place to a friend but I'm am going to caution them if they want to visit during the warmer months.

On our way home from a camping trip, we stopped for lunch at the "Drive-in Restaurant" in Taylors Falls. A throw-back to the 50's with car-hops who bring your order to the car - or you can sit at a table. THE BEST Onion Rings I have had in a long time! Beef burgers from a local farm. The music and decor evoke nostalgia form the 50's and 60's. So on your way to the Sock Hop, stop by and have a meal! The place is fun and the service is friendly!

The Drive Inn had some amazing fresh food. We loved the burgers and fries. Kids got a delicious cookie with their meals as well. You must try the root beer float! Icy and satisfying!

This is one of my favorite little spots to stop at for food. There's not too many real drive in restaurants like this around anymore. The food is always great. I love their burgers, fries, cheese curds, and onion rings. And the shakes and malts are amazing and delicious. And the root beer is some of the best root beer I've ever had. They are seasonal, so make sure to check that they're open before you had there.

Good try for there experience, but wouldn’t go back. Food: was highly under cooked, sent it back because it was very raw. Even the waitress said so. Service: was okay… waited 15mins for a table, 15mins for waitress to take our order and another 30-45mins for food that ended up being raw! Atmosphere: it’s was nice to eat outside, difficult to find parking and got harassed by bees we ended up going to sit in the car to eat.

Tangled Up In Blue Restaurant is a comfortable and inviting establishment that offers a variety of fresh seafood and steak dishes, as well as weekly specials and wine pairings. This hidden gem provides a cozy atmosphere where patrons can enjoy unique and seasonal meals. The stuffed mushroom appetizer is particularly noteworthy, with its extraordinary taste. For the main course, options like Beef Wellington and Duck a l'orange are expertly prepared to perfection. The side dishes are equally impressive, creating an all-around fantastic dining experience.
Wow, what a gem!! I've rarely had food this delicious! The stuffed mushroom appetizer was absolutely incredible, best I've ever had. For dinner, I had the Beef Wellington, while my fiancee had the Duck à l`orange. Both were cooked perfectly, and tasted heavenly. The sides were also amazing, seriously, everything here was fantastic. Service was great, the atmosphere was wonderful. A great find, highly recommend!

Finally went here to try the Beef Wellington and it DID NOT disappoint myself or my wife. Ordered some Risotto on the side and that was just as delicious! Matter of fact..... EVERYTHING WAS DELICIOUS. We both had to almost be wheeled out, we were so stuffed!!! Reservations are definitely a good idea.

I love this restaurant! It's cozy and inviting and the food is something you just don't find in our small rural area. The business is family owned and operated and they definitely bring a big city 5 star feel to the table. Reservations are needed. You simply will not be disappointed.

A "go-to" place for special occasions, or anytime really! Such a nice, comfortable, intimate setting. Well worth the beautiful drive up from the Cities. Loved the fact that the staff was all family and very friendly. The food and wine was outstanding! Definitely planning on returning.

This place is the best in Taylors Falls. Best to have a reservation so you make sure you have a table. Love the food and the atmosphere!!! Have been coming here for 11 years and have NEVER had a bad meal!!!! Love it!!!

My husband and I come here each year for our anniversary 💕!! We absolutely love the location and the atmosphere. The food literally melts in your mouth. This small family restaurant has better food than high-end restaurants we have been to in the twin cities. We definitely recommend coming here if you are looking for fabulous food and amazing service!!!

My husband and I have been going here for Valentine’s Day the past couple of years as a special treat and it has yet to disappoint! Save room for dessert because the bananas foster is amazing! Make sure to call for reservations on holidays.

We recently celebrated our engagement here. The food was absolutely phenomenal -- very fresh and full of flavor. The service was great. They even gave us champagne to celebrate. Highly recommend for anyone visiting the area. They made our night even more special! Thanks Tangled Up in Blue!

The best meal I've had in years. Super nice family, great seafood options, and very cool relaxed vibe for dinner. Happy we could get a reservation when we did so plan ahead. My wife thought the lobster bisque should be available in a shampoo because it was so amazing, also insisting she get it again for dessert. Best jambalaya and seafood kabobs I've had. Looking forward to coming back to try the rest of the menu.

The American restaurant Chisago House offers excellent cuisine and top-notch service. It is a true treasure that transports you to a more uncomplicated era. The breakfast options are particularly enjoyable, and the ambiance reflects the charm of a small town.
Great food and service. A real gem taking you back to simpler times. We loved our breakfast and the small town atmosphere.

Came here for a late lunch on a Saturday. There was plenty of open seating. Atmosphere is quite dated. Looks like a 60s-70s era diner that has never been updated. Our table ordered a mix of items - silver dollar pancakes, biscuits & gravy, a burger & fries, and a hot beef sandwich. The food took a long time to come out (over 30 minutes), especially considering the amount of other patrons. Everyone said their food was good, and they all cleaned their plates. After lunch, we split peach pie a la mode and an apple dumpling a la mode. The desserts were tasty and just enough to satisfy. Service was very good. Our server was very attentive. Overall - food was good, service was good, and the meal for 4 with dessert was $45. Ok, but will probably try another restaurant when we’re back in town.

I was really hungry after walking the trails and taking a riverboat ride. I pulled this place up on Google Maps, and thought, hey it’s right there and it looks nice and old fashioned. I didn’t read any reviews (mistake) I just headed on in! Practically everything people said about this place is true. I walked in and was NOT greeted by Nurse Rachet. She just glared at me like she was going to call someone from the back with a chainsaw. I said in my most cheerful voice HI! She glared and said what can I get you. Uneasily I said, should I seat myself? Meanwhile some old toothless guy sitting at the counter was glaring at me as well. Now I am thinking for sure I’ll hear the buzz saw soon. So Ms. Rachet says yeah, seat yourself, and there’s a Buffett in that (pointing) dining room. Okay, I say, I think I’ll go for that. I walk on the dinning room at it is completely empty, except one guy at the buffet. A young guy comes over and cheerfully asks if I want something to drink, spoiler alert: this was the highlight of the meal. I head over to the buffet and find a decent looking salad bar, nothing fancy, just the basics. I move to the hot food area, there are four or five hot pans, none of which have steam coming out of them. One holds chicken that I swear to you is so old it’s petrified. It’s hard as a rock and has no scent. Then there’s Swedish meatballs, (or they are just old and you think the twang is Swedish) next is the pork something, I don’t know what it is but when I get it to the table, I find out the color is grey. The mashed potatoes only come with white (cold) gravy. I try to choke some of this cold, old food down because I am starving, I ask the cheerful young man for a refill on my half drank Pepsi and he says “ you are only allowed one refill, so do you want to wait until the one you have is gone”? I say how about you just bring me the one refill in a new cup. Really???? You’re at Taylor Falls where people walk and hike all day and you serve them a 10 ounce cup filled with ice and about 5 ounces of Pepsi and you want to charge for anything more than one refill??? The food was awful, not hot, not tasty and certainly not fresh. DO NOT WASTE YOUR MONEY ON THIS PLACE!!! More than likely that meal will have me in the bathroom for half the night. Not sure which health department inspects this place, but a visit is WAY PAST DUE.

Got here really early on a Sunday and had the place to ourselves. Good service, good breakfast, reality solid experience. Woke up in a tent in the rain and this breakfast really turned the day around!

I thought this place was great. If you want great atmosphere this isn't the place for you. If you want great FOOD then this is the place for you. The Friday night buffet was outstanding. Fish was cooked perfectly (2 types) and the chicken was fried to perfection. Everything about the meal was tasty. My wife and I left with tip for about 25 bucks. I couldn't believe that there weren't more people. The things I didn't know about the place is that it is open all the time. It seems to us that they only advertise their buffets? They have a HUGE menu and while I didn't have everything on it, I'm sure I will in the future. If you are ok with the old wood lodge look and good food, this is the place. A++++

Quaint old restaurant that we will be happy to visit again!! They serve what I understand to be classic American food, made after you order, and it comes to the table piping hot! Clean, tasty food, served by a cheerful, motherly lady who interacted very well with the customers. The buffet had a good choice, but targeted primarily to the American palate (We are originally from South Asia, so beef is not a choice). Definitely a place to relax in with family after a visit to the state park!! Prices are pleasantly low for the quality and quantity - real value for money!!

Slow slow slow slow. One slow for every ten minutes we had to wait for our food. I wasn’t willing to wait for 50 minutes to get two breakfast orders. My wife and I were seated at 9am on a slow Sunday morning ordered a #3 and a biscuit and gravy. We drank all of our water and waited 15 minutes for refills. Couldn’t tell you how the food was as we walked out. Chisago House... Get it together. People thinking of dining in for anything but the buffet... Take a pass and find an option across the river otherwise you’ll be in for sub par service and food.

I had the soup and salad bar. Soups and non lettuce salads were very bland and tasteless. Even the pickled beets were bland. My husband said his burger and fries were pretty good. Place was very dirty, dull and dated except for the bathroom which was pleasantly clean. I don't mind dull and dated if the food is good but not this.

Romayne's is a charming establishment with excellent cuisine and service. The dining experience takes place outdoors amidst the lush foliage, creating a serene atmosphere. The burgers are absolutely delicious, with options like the Mushroom Swiss and Ragin Cajun Burger satisfying different tastes. Despite the latter being mildly spicy, it still received positive reviews. Additionally, Romayne's offers an exceptional root beer, making it even more enticing to visit. This bar and grill comes highly recommended for its delectable food and beautiful ambiance.
My wife and I frequently go here for food or drinks or both. Best food in the area for sure along with a friendly and talented staff! From great burgers, to amazing grilled chicken bacon ranch sandwiches and all in-between, your sure to wanna come back soon once you've been there!

LOVED this Place. Very good Burgers, beautiful setting under large sprawling trees. Was a great place to eat and relax after a beautiful River Trail Hike. Highly recommend. Then go get a Malt across the street for dessert.

Nice bar, good servers. Food is basically burgers, fish fillets, and sandwiches. Not amazing or incredible food, but quite enough for quick lunch or dinner. Prices are very good indeed.

Went here after a hike. It is in a nice location, and the outdoor seating is shaded so that is nice. Ordered a cajun bleu burger, it was not good at all. The meat was dry, the burger had zero toppings, it was bland, honestly just one of the worst burgers I've ever had, I didn't even finish half of it. Also ordered some of the fish, that was actually good, and also reasonably priced. Asked to upgrade my side of chips for the burger for mac and cheese bites but was charged the same price ($6) as ordering them, so that makes no sense. The service was good, the location is nice, the food however is okay. Ambiance-4.5 Location-5 Service-4 Food-2

Our group ordered different kinds of burger and the rest ordered fish fry. I suggest ordering the fish fry, the burger was dry and bland, the buns were stale, the worst burger ive had by far. However, the Fish fry was good. No refill on sodas and iced tea here. The small drink is like a kids cup and the large size would be a small in any other places.. see photo. Its laughable, small iced tea for 2$ … there is an extra fee when paying with credit card

Service was good... food not so much! Burger was dripping blood, buns on Burger and chicken sandwiches were so soggy they were falling apart. Bloody Mary's were horrible... no taste whatsoever! Not worth the $70 we spent

Just a neat little place with good food n service. It was outdoor dining under the trees, but very nice. Our burgers were perfect... I had the Mushroom Swiss and he had the Ragin Cajun Burger and he thought it was pretty good not too hot though. They also had a great root beer!! We would recommend eating here.

I took a day trip to Taylor Falls and had lunch here. The food was fine but nothing great. The kids menu only three options; mac & cheese bite, mini corn dogs or chicken tenders. They all came with fries or you could substitute for chips. It would have been great if I could have substituted for an appetizer sauce pouch ir something like that. I may have enjoyed it more if I was there for the bar and not with my kids. They did have quite the selection of beers.

I came here with my partner and I ordered a bagel with lox. The bagel was fine, didn’t taste homemade, but whatever. The “lox” was one old piece of salmon, browning, extremely thin. There was virtually no cream cheese and I was left eating a whole bunch of bread. It was 7 bucks for a thick bagel that I was charged more for because it was supposed to have “toppings”. As a Jewish girl used to eating great lox, this was a sad, sick joke. No stars.

Our group stopped in after walking the trails on a Saturday. Very friendly counter staff. Lots of people in town enjoying the outdoors. They were out of soup. I wanted a lighter sandwich so I ordered the grilled cheese with chips and a pickle spear. I shouldn't have. For $7, there was one slice of mozzarella, so I mostly tasted bread. There were pre wrapped hoagie sandwiches in the display, so I'm sure you could find a better alternative if you go. I did love the Wisconsin made natural cherry soda. 🍒 Now to find it in Minnesota. 🤔

I couldn't see everything when they made the sandwiches but I am pretty certain these are premade and heated up. They definitely do not taste like they are made fresh and I didn't see any ingredients. Also they're quite small for what you pay for them. The sandwich itself is OK, but don't go here expecting made to order food.

The manager is extremely rude! Not only to the customers but also to her staff!! She opened 10 min late! That’s ok, but she had Such an attitude the entire time! When I asked her employee if I could get extra pickled onions on my salmon bagels the poor girl informed me that the manager wouldn’t allow her even though I said I’d pay for it! Also my friends asked for very minor changes and with attitude she kept saying I will not do this or that.. I wish I could give it 5 starts but that manager has no business working with people! I feel very sorry for her co worker she seemed very sweet!

It's okay, the sandwich is premade, they take it out of the plastic wrap and put it on the grill. It includes a handful of lays potato chips and a couple of really small pickles. The picture below is the turkey pesto sandwich cut in half.

We had lunch here about 2 weeks ago on that rare 80 degree April Friday. It was about the only place open in Taylor's Falls. We wanted something light as we had a special dinner planned in Osceola, Wisconsin. Juneberry Cafe is a small-town gem of a place for breakfast and lunch. The two women at the counter were friendly and welcoming and the interior is quaint although the chairs are a little wobbly. We both ordered a hot sandwich (which are actually panini pressed). I got the turkey pesto and my wife had the ham and swiss. Be forewarned, these are not small portion sandwiches. Bring a good appetite. I liked the turkey pesto more than the wife's ham and cheese, but we realized we could've split a single sandwich (all sandwiches come with a mountain of chips...the chips are nothing special but you do get a lot). My wife had the homemade lemonade infused with lavender, which she raved about. All in all, I very pleasant dining experience. We would stop here again when in the area but not order as much (understand, we have "European" stomachs, i.e. we do not eat as large a portion as most Minnesotans do). Thumbs up!
