Italian restaurant
Solo Bella is a laid-back Italian establishment that specializes in wood-fired pizzas, pasta dishes, and traditional mains. The ambiance exudes warmth, with captivating New York-themed murals adorning the walls. The service provided by the waitstaff is exceptional, as they demonstrate attentiveness towards customers. The menu boasts delightful options such as homemade garlic bread with a side of olive oil dip and delectable baked clams. All main courses, including cappuccinos, are equally delicious.
Beautiful restaurant, super helpful staff. Everything was very clean and nicely decorated. The food was delicious by strip steak was perfectly cooked. Penne in vodka sauce was also very good. Love the vibe of the whole place. Went here for a bridal shower, staff was very accommodating to the wedding party.

After our visit to Six Flags Safari we stopped by Solo Bella for lunch on a weekday and were pleasantly surprised. Friendly staff, delicious food, great ambiance and reasonable prices. I had the Penne a la vodka and my wife had the chicken Parmesan with spaghetti. They were both delicious and we had to take some home because the portions are huge. They serve a complimentary garlic bread with olive paste which is also delicious. Luckily we skipped the appetizers! I will definitely be back! Note they on Wednesdays they have a lunch special.

Casual restaurant but good for a date. Portions are generous and specials are offered. The server was friendly and attentive. There is also a nice selections of desserts - cannoli, sorbets and other pastries.

Great little place! We had a party of 9 and were placed at a perfect round table in the corner where we could be our loud Italian selves and enjoy delicious food! BYOB, call 1 week ahead for reservations.
Dawn Sharpsteen — Google review
Just had dinner there and food was very good and our waitress was working very hard to keep up due to how busy the restaurant was. It was very noisy inside hard to have a conversation. The service was slow. The worst was they turned the air on and we were right below the AC unit and we had to put our coats on to stay comfortable. The tables next to us also put their coats on. We asked for it to be turned down but that did not happen. So we ate quick and left. If you need AC on then do not sit people right below it.

1st time visiting, we were very impressed from the NY Murals on the walls, to the fantastic service provided by our waitress. Very attentive to the customer. The food was delicious, from the homemade garlic bread and olive oil dip, to the baked class, all of our main courses, and cappuccinos. Also many of the entrees as well as the appetizers are generously proportioned and could feed multiple people. Can't wait to return. Highly recommended.

Solo Bella is on the top of my restaurant list for Italian food. I've been dining there for years now, but sadly my recent experience wasn't to great. Ordered over $50 worth of takeout , an appetizer, salad and two expensive entrees and they had the nerve to tell us that bread wasn't included. Its only included if you sit and dine in. The lady behind the chair was rude about it and said "the manager will tell you the same thing" you mean to tell me such an expensive meal and they can't throw in a few pieces of bread with dip? The food was bland as well and just didn't taste ad good as it usually does. I don't think I'll be running back after that attitude and not so great meal.

Expect wonderful service and great food when you come here. Never had a bad meal here and the quality is always consistent from the staff to the food. Dinner can get crowded so try to get a reservation but also a great place for a cozy sit in lunch. We have almost had everything on the menu and you honestly can not go wrong with anything here.
Family Dad — Google review
Despite the quality of the meals, I will not return here again. I looked forward to dining with three cousins last night, as we rarely have the opportunity to meet. To begin with, we walked in the door and the hostess appeared in fashionable, but unprofessional for work, torn/slashed blue jeans. The service proved slow. I had to ask three times for a wine bucket before it appeared. Since they had no stands, it had to be placed on an already cramped table. The wait staff brought lovely warm bread with an olive tapenade. Since the meals come without a salad, we ordered a bowl for the table. Regarding the price point, at an average of $35 per entrée, we thought that should be included. It took 45 minutes to get our meals from the time we ordered them. My kudos to the chef because the salad and the food shined brightly (see photos). The pasta was presented al dente and the meats were tender and flavorful. I do love a BYOB and that’s a plus for Solo Bella. One person in our party ordered a Pepsi, which looked very light like cream soda. When she asked the server, she told us the beverage machine was not operating correctly. They replaced it with a Sprite. Also, at their price point, I expected glass, not plastic beverage glasses. At dessert, another in the group did not finish her tea, ordered hot, because it came lukewarm. A coffee drinker requested half and half, only to be informed that they ran out of it earlier in the day. The worst offender, which put a damper on the whole evening (a Wednesday): the noise level. I can’t imagine the challenge of conducting a conversation on a busy weekend evening. We practically had to shout to hear one another. This put a damper on the experience. When I used the ladies’ room before leaving, I found puddles of water sitting on the single sink countertop and along the edge, and an unsightly soap dispenser with a broken cover. Both the inside and the outside of the restaurant are great. Guests access ample parking. However, the ramp to enter is a safety hazard (see photos). This is important for any venue, but more so in an area with lots of senior communities. The concrete cutout is damaged and dangerous for anyone with mobility issues, including those with walkers and wheelchairs. Please fix this immediately! You can tell the quality of a restaurant and its management by many small details which form the total impression. Attention to detail makes all the difference in any business. Unfortunately, the negatives outweighed the positives. Not so Bella!

Very good Italian restaurant that gives you big portions of everything. I really liked the pasta fagoli soup and the godfather pie with sausage. And also the desserts that mount vesuvius cake is addictive. And I'm giving a shout out to my waitress Alexa she was so nice and made me laugh a lot. We will be back again soon.

Sola Bella, with very little notice, was able to accommodate us for the repast after our Dad’s funeral. We were provided a private area with amazing food and service. Our family wishes to thank them and we highly recommend this restaurant.

I was so happy to find vegan options. I had the linguini with roasted garlic and olive oil and for dessert a yummy coconut sorbet. Thank you for having something vegan.

2020 & 2021 Reviews. The food is amazing here. The best chicken franchese I've ever had. Their parm and gnocchi dishes are equally as good. It is very loud here though probably due to the tall ceilings and usually lots of family parties. The inside can be very cramped especially if you are amongst the hallway 2 tables, but the outside section is lovely and serene. The staff is very nice and works so hard and quick, they are like family. They have a front section that seems like they serve pizzas, bread, and other things to go. I have been here twice 6months apart and it is still such good food. My fiancee has been here numerous times and their whole family loves it and goes often over several years. The prices are about normal for the type of food, but will be 2-3 meals for you. It is BYOB, but they provide bottling, glasses, and ice for no charge.

We had my mom's repass here and the food and service were top notch. The bread is awesome. I know you're saying, ok it's bread take it easy. No their bread was awesome. Well done Solo Bella. We'll definitely be back.

Asian fusion restaurant
Wok N Roll, an Asian fusion restaurant in the area, is highly recommended for its delectable Chinese cuisine. Despite being approximately 10 miles away, it is worth the drive to savor their flavorful dishes. A popular choice is their shrimp in garlic sauce, which emits a noticeable garlic aroma as it arrives at your table. The shrimp itself is of a generous size and accompanies crunchy vegetables that add an enjoyable texture to the dish.
Very good. Best eat in Chinese in the area in my opinion. Worth the (about) 10 mile drive for Chinese food. I regularly have the shrimp in garlic sauce. You can smell the garlic as the waiter puts it on the table. Decent size shrimp too and nice crunchy vegetables. Clean, good service, fairly priced. 👍⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐

Ordered often from this place. It has been okay. Inconsistent at times but okay in emergencies and some dishes were even great. Unfortunately, the place has been steadily going downhill. I am aware that everyone has been struggling with finding workers, but what I experienced this evening was unacceptable no matter how you look at it. The two girls up front looked so confused. Whispering to each other and looking like all of this is way over their heads. Way too complicated. They had no interest in working. I waited patiently for over 35 minutes for soup, a spicy tuna roll, and an avocado salad. No apologies, no communication, nothing. I know we don't have that many choices in Jackson or Howell, but this place should be avoided at all costs. Horrible experience. Lost $22 which included a tip. However, losing some money was worth not having to watch the ineptness of the two girls working at the cash register any longer. I just left without the food. Won't be going back.

They don't give refills on drinks which is already more than half ice, the have the most rude workers and try to rip you off. The food is so disgusting here I would not even feed it to my dog. STAY AWAY!!! Garbage quality

Tried expanding my horizons with a different restaurant instead of my usual go-to (Hunan Wok) and have regretted it since. My brother and I ordered wings and did not receive it when we picked it up. The pork fried rice was like eating wood chips. On top of that, we got sick from eating it for 2 days straight. Do not recommend to anybody.

This restaurant has changed significantly since the day it opened. Their sizes have decreased but prices have increased. Now they've taken to charging 75 cents on already naturally gluten free items like salmon, tuna, and shrimp rolls which contain only rice, fish, and seaweed wrap and for the extra charge they don't even include gluten free sully sauce! SHAME ON YOU for taking advantage and profiting on those with allergies. I'm done with this restaurant!

The sushi tasted good, the rice was a little stale though. The hot and sour soup I had gotten was great and they were not overly expensive. The staff were attentive and engaging. My tea cup was a little dirty though, was not a fan of that... A newer take out experience - the sushi didn't taste good at all this time and the fish didn't seem fresh. I had to make two trips because they didn't give me my other bag.

The American restaurant Cornerstone Kitchen & Tap is a popular spot for brunch in New Jersey. Their brunch menu offers bottomless mimosas, bellinis, and Bloody Marys. The food was good, with only one waitress and kitchen runner serving the multiple tables. The ambiance and the music were great, and we both forgot to mention it was live music when we wrote our review.
Surprisingly very good 😊 Very nice hostess to welcome you in I came twice for lunch and it was great never thought of it as a diner place, but my friend wanted to go local so I made reservations on a Friday for 4 of us. Our waiter was very nice Our drinks were really good. My friend had the sangria I had a mojito For apps we ordered the calamari and zucchini and the bang bang shrimp, it was very good only complaint was the calamari was chewy. Dinner was very good everyone cleared their plates. Definitely try it out.

My fiance and 4 year old daughter had dinner at cornerstone on Saturday, 4/2/22. It was probably the best meal I have ever had in my life. The special grilled nectarine salad and Italian minestrone soup was incredible together. My daughter devoured the jumbo pretzel and her pasta while enjoying the shrimp from my spring risotto, which was the best risotto I've ever had. The seafood quality was impeccable. Drinks, amazing, they have a very creative bartender and the special drinks were so interesting. Dessert, wow, the lemon meringue cheesecake, not to be compared to anything! It was the best way to end the meal, slightly sweet and tart. And not only that, the timing of the courses, the live music and the service was also outstanding. Overall we had a 10/10 experience. This place is truly a hidden gem and I can't wait to have our next special occasion there. 5 stars all the way!! Thank you so much for such a great meal and experience!

Wanted to try something new and came here. Really great selection of food and everything was great. They were very cautious with Covid, first place I’ve been to that takes your temperature before seating. Loved the inside, really nicely decorated for both a bar and elegant dining room. Cool interior design choices. Really cool outdoor bar for the summer months. The avocado fries as an appetizer are something everyone should try, one of the best things I’ve ever eaten. The service was good and the place was very quiet even with people near the bar which made for an even better dining atmosphere. Specials were amazing and deserts were okay, brownie was a little dry but still a great end to the meal. Definitely recommend goin here if you want to try something new that is guaranteed to be delicious.

Spouse and I had onion soup that was delicious. Full bodied broth and plenty of flavorful melted cheese. $6.00 per bowl. I got half rack ribs starter and he got a burger and fries off specials menu. We drank water. Cost was $50.00. With tip $60.00. Food was good. Service was okay with only 1 waitress and kitchen runner.

Good burger place. Had lunch a few times. It is a sports bar but, has a section for dining away from the bar. It can be noisy depending on the crowd. They offer outside dining if you like. They have a parking lot which is well lit. The menu varies and a great beer selection. Prices are average.

Craft beer, variable menu items Nice selection without being too many choices, there were a few things I could've ordered but.. Gotta get the Gouda burger, with the Great lakes barrel aged porter.. At least that's what I did and no regrets. Draft beer 13 0z @ $9 is pricey but one satisfied the thirst and went well with the burger
Cj Tracker — Google review
Food was so so, the burger was not what I expected. The bun was not good and the burger was a bit salted. The fries were bland and had no seasoning. They tasted like they were straight out of the freezer.

I just ate here with 3 other people and we all loved are dinners. They were delicious! The service was wonderful and the place was very clean. They have a huge indoor bar area to hang out afterwards and on a Saturday night in June the outdoor bar area was open too! I highly recommend the Cornerstone! There wasn't a wait on Saturday night which was great, too!

Diner
The Mug Rack is a well-established establishment that offers typical American fare such as burgers, sandwiches, and classic breakfast choices. It embodies the essence of a traditional diner with its old school ambiance. Recently visited during a soccer competition, the eatery proved to be an excellent spot for brunch. The order consisted of appetizing dishes like grilled cheese with tomato and bacon, a chicken salad club sandwich, and sausage egg cheese on a roll. The food was promptly served in generous portions.
I came here with my parents this morning. Given that the restaurant was crowded, we were told it would be a 10 minute wait to be seated, though it really took no more than 5. Despite the restaurant being packed, we received our drinks and had our orders taken a lot sooner than I've experienced at most other restaurants I've been to. Already, before even getting the food, the service was exceptional. I ended up getting blueberry pancakes, which were phenomenal and came out sooner than I was expecting. Usually you don't expect a crowded restaurant to be so timely with everything, but that was not the case here. The wait staff was great, as was the cooking staff. I have nothing but positive things to say about my experience here. If I could give 6 stars, I would. Highly recommend.
Jonathan Witkowski — Google review
Typical American diner with a slightly dated interior. The food was par for the course without a standout but was seasoned and cooked well without any issues. Being family owned it's nice to see it continuing in that vein. There is definitely the feeling of local hometown pride in the establishment.

The pancakes here have a great crisp to them staff is friendly food doesn't taste like others in the area and the cooks ARE CONSTANT CONSTANT CONSTANT!!!! Give it a try. The corned beef hash is cooked perfect not just heated up and the burgers are also AWESOME.

Went there and ordered eggs Benedict, grits which I added cheese to and corned beef hash. My to-go order was taken promptly and didn't take long at all. The food was delicious and I will definitely be back!

Out wandering about and trying another new spot for us. Kit enjoyed a cheese, bacon, onion omelette with a side of one chocolate chip pancake. For me, the usual fried egg, pork roll, jalapenos with SPK and for my side, a bowl of grits!!! Nice atmosphere and very delicious food.

I love the fact that you can get pancakes and french toast by the slice. The prices are incredible. We had great service, and my dad was very happy to see corned beef and hash on the menu. My mom was obsessed with my grilled cheese. The pickles were perfect!!! I look forward to coming back the next time I visit the area.

Typical old school diner. It was close to a soccer competition so popped in for brunch. We ordered grilled cheese w/tomato n bacon, chicken salad club sandwich and sausage egg cheese on a roll. Food came out quick and portions are generous. Grilled cheese n egg sandwich was awesome 5/5. Chicken salad was good too, but uncomfortable to eat at times. Very pleasant experience and will eat here again if I am in town. Won’t get chicken salad next time. Good old school vibes, very reasonably priced.

The Mug Rack is not a large eatery yet the atmosphere was fantastic. The staff knows many of their customers. The waitress who served me was friendly always had a smile and very engaged. Food was fresh, hot and presented timely.

Ordered scrambled eggs. They were 'ok'. The hash brown was good. Coffee good. Nothing to "write home about". Anyone giving this five stars has to be delusional. The Jackson Diner is far, far superior. We only go to Mug Rack as it's closer for us to drive with a toddler. It just doesn't look spotless. The waitress was excellent; it's not her fault the place is so-so.

Sushi restaurant
Koto Japanese Restaurant is a trendy eatery where skilled chefs man the hibachi tables. The sleek BYOB establishment also offers sushi. It's a place that evokes memories of Japan, with incredible food that harmoniously blends flavors without overpowering the palate. Prices are comparable, if not better, than other establishments in the state. The servers are pleasant and engage in friendly conversation when they're not too busy.
I absolutely love koto. I have lived in Jackson for 19 years and Koto is always my go to. Its delicious, and hibachi portion sizes are giant. I get the steak hibachi, and it's perfectly cooked every time. I have tried several other hibachi places around before in ocean county and no where comes close to beating Koto on their prices, portion sizes, freshness and flavor. It's funny that at other hibachi locations, they make you choose rice or noodle, and soup or salad, but Koto does both for the same price! Same with their sushi, it's fresher, tastes better and is cheaper than other hibachi restaurants around. The staff is always friendly and welcoming and make you laugh when you get the hibachi show. But normally I sit on the quieter side with the no grill tables and it's just peaceful and a great place to go for a quiet but delicious meal. Will forever be a fan.

This place only offers Hibachi for reservations so make sure you have them. The food was lacking flavor. We ordered rolls which we have had at other places with bigger taste forna smaller price. The restrooms were gross. The cleanliness was passing however we were not impressed.

They were super sweet the lady called me dear, they let us eat 30 minutes before they were about to close. The food was a perfect mixture of sweet & salty. Everything from the service, the food, and the bathrooms were nice. Definitely recommend 10/10. (PS. The food came out super fast as well.)

Love this place, it's been my favorite hibachi restaurant for years. The salmon hibachi is so good, I love how you get noodles, fried rice, and veggies with the hibachi meal. Also, the dressing on the salad is my favorite ginger dressing I've ever had. And the alligator roll rules!
Pat Hughes — Google review
Had lunch the other day, I was surprised to see it so empty. Had their lunch offerings. Ordered a California roll and Steak Hibachi. Waitress was attentive. Salad was served first, which was unimpressive. Just a few pieces of iceberg lettuce and water downed salad dressing. Before salad was finished the Clear Soup was served. It was warm and tasteless. The California Roll was served but, dry to my liking. Finally, the Steak Hibachi. The steak was cooked to order, medium rare but, was overcooked and tough. The vegetables were tasted dry, while the noodles and rice as bland. Before I left, there was a family having lunch at the Hibachi table.

The worst hibachi I’ve ever had…completely unedible. The steak and chicken were extremely salty and the noodles were as hard as sticks…ate some of the rice but just as bad. First and last time going there
Mark Augustin — Google review
I have been eating here for many years. Today I took my 2 daughters for lunch (age 10 and 12) I was charged full adult price for them (28 dollars for plain steak) I called the woman/owner and she told me kid prices are 9 and under 🤦‍♀️😞🫣…. Oh really yeah I will NEVER go back. She was unprofessional and it was completely ridiculous. Myself and two little girls for lunch cost me over 100 dollars… NEVER AGAIN
Lex Clouse — Google review
I have never left a hibachi place disappointed but I did today. All the food literally was bland had no flavor and dry. Had to add soy sauce just for flavor. Probably the worst hibachi I been to. Three stars cause it was edible and service was good. Sorry won't be back not sure how this place got all those 5 stars
J R — Google review
This is a case where I wish the rating system wasn't limited to 5 stars. The food was incredible and reminded my father of his time in Japan, the flavors were cohesive and not overwhelming and the prices were on par if not better than other establishments in the state. The servers were incredibly nice, even made some small conversation as well when it wasn't busy. The atmosphere inside was very simple but quite relaxing, the lighting was easy on the eyes and was plenty to see the amazing food presentation and have a good conversation with my dad. Overall, this is a restaurant I plan on coming to regularly. If I could give this place a 6/5 I'd do it in a heartbeat.
