This pizza joint also caters to gluten-free customers, providing both regular and excellent gluten-free crust options. When my husband and I moved from the city to the North Shore, we had to say bye to an awesome neighborhood Neapolitan pizza place. I didn’t think we’d ever find a local restaurant that could compete until we came stumbled upon Napolita. For the last 2 months, we’ve been getting their food every Sunday as a way to cap out the weekend. We’re slowly working our way through the delicious menu and haven’t found anything we wouldn’t reorder. The space is cozy, the staff is friendly and knowledgeable, and the food is outstanding. Come here for some apps, pizza and a pumpkin margarita - you won’t regret it.

My husband and I came here while temperatures were below zero, and enjoyed our lunch experience. Our waitress was fantastic and the food was delicious. We are so happy to have found this place so we can add into our rotation!
Amanda Martinelli — Google review
We had a fantastic family lunch here! True Napoli style pizza with great ingredients. Try the gnocchi. It was like pillows from heaven covered in a tomato vodka sauce (menu hack).

A charming place! Delicious pizza and pasta! Very nice wines! Very friendly staff! My sister lives in the are and is a regular- at least once a week! This place is a must if you love Italian food and flair!
Vesela Docheva — Google review
Was visiting the Baha'i temple nearby and stopped for a bite in a small but pintoresque downtown Wilmette. Napolita is on a main road with some street parking available. We were recommended the pizza as it's supposed to be authentic Italian. They apparently source their ingredients and even the pizza oven is imported from Italy. I have to admit the pizza was great. Thin crust, very similar to what I remember from a trip to Italy. We got 2 pizza and 2 appetizers for 2 adults and 2 growing boys and it was enough. The artichoke and spinach appetizer is a must! The decor is nice and modern. Service was excellent. Will definitely stop by again if we're in the area.

In my view, there is no more authentic Neapolitan pizza outside of Naples itself than Napolita Pizzeria (and Wine Bar). To quote the Smithsonian Magazine article, "...this classic Neapolitan pizza is as soft and floppy as a basset hound's ears. It's chewy rather than crunchy, with a moist top, abundant scorch marks (leoparding) and an airy 'cornicione,' the pillowy ledge that frames the crust. The steamy crust is blast-cooked to perfection in 90 seconds or less at about 900 degrees" in a wood-fired oven that has been burning without stop since they opened in 2015. Love this place! Management is outstanding, focus is on the food and the curated wine list. Serving staff is knowledgeable and welcoming. Buon appetito!
Bill Braman — Google review
Was craving some pizza so my husband and I decided to try Napolita for the first time. The food overall was good. The bruschetta appetizer was delicious but the fried risotto was alright. As for their drinks, average. The service was supper quick and our server was very polite. Overall it was a good experience.

A pizza place that makes the whole family happy (including the gluten-free member). Its hard to find a pizza place that makes an amazing pizza crust and also an excellent gluten-free pizza crust. And here it is. Really nice ingredients on the pizza too. Take-out is my preferred eating style here.

Napolita is one our favorite spots! Family friendly, date night friendly and a great wine selection! AMAZING FOOD 🙌
Raymond Sjolseth — Google review
The salad we ordered was good and in theory the pizza flavor combinations are interesting but unfortunately the smokiness of the pizza just over powered everything. Literally tasted/smelled like cigarette smoke over the whole crust. Would give them another chance though and order things besides pizza!

This was hands down the best place we ate at while visiting Berlin. The food, the service, and the atmosphere were all stellar.
Robyn Bancroft — Google review
We ordered a specialty pizza about an hour before closing. The pizza came suspiciously quickly (20 min from ordering) and it was cold and largely uncooked. Although overall their pizzas are OK, do not order late. You will get a hastily prepared and uncooked pizza. I don't plan to order from them again.

11/21 - Wonderful store and Italian goodies. Colette and Adrian were warm and friendly! 11/23 - Another visit today to pick up some food items. William was very helpful at the counter and answered a lot of my questions. Brenda was also great taking my order on the phone.

I had the an exceptional experience here. A courteous gentleman, graciously recommended some dishes to us, which turned out to be delightful choices. He periodically checked in on us throughout the meal, ensuring our satisfaction. I highly recommend this restaurant.

So disappointed! I would have given no star if not for the nice lady who took my order last week. What I got is far from what is pictured on their tray menu. I am so embarassed as it was a gift for my boss and Ihave mentioned that upon ordering. They could have at least made it more presentable. It doesn’t look like it’s worth $100. I could have made it myself and do a better job. Reaction from one person who saw was “did you get that from jewel?” Photo on the right is what it should look like.

People who LOVE to eat are always the best people. Convito Cafe & Market has got you covered on everything food. No matter if you want to dine in, outside on the patio, pick up, or just get goodies from their market, you can't go wrong. That staff is wonderful and amazing. Run don't walk and let time pass away while enjoying everything Convito has to offer.

Just a fantastic place to have chosen, for our Thanksgiving this year! It won't be our last! Was so easy to re heat and it was all so delicious. Loved how tender the turkey breast meat was.

We widowed this Italian restaurant for the first but not the last time. It was a wonderful experience as for service and taste of food. It has a style of one of the Italian boutique restaurants that you can meet on the streets of old Europe. We ordered spaghetti and calamari appetizer and it was delicious. Really enjoyed the experience

We love the mussels, soup, and the Trio salad. They have a funny lady that works there and she talked to my husband (while I'm in the restroom) and she laughed that I ordered the burger and he got salad.

Not only a great upscale Italian four star dining experience tucked away in Plaza Del Lago, but also a great Italian Market, wine selection and prepared foods market. I have yet to experience a less than stellar meal with first class service from a friendly and attentive staff. Worth the visit!!

Really nice place and it is authentic, we stopped by to get lunch after the beach, I love these kind of places, but to be honest, there is room for improvement service wise. We had to keep asking for little things like spoon and some sugar with cappuccino, salt, napkins and stuff like that. We also felt rushed with the check. But I will despite all this come back for sure. Rustic tart with vanilla ice cream is amazing 👌🏻

Wow, 1st impression was great. The handmade pizzas were right in front of me. The market had so much variety to offer. Had a bit of a drive ahead if me with no way to keep things cold so I just bought some pastry items. These were amazing. Cannot wait to get back here when things open up. The cafe is calling me.

Valley Lodge Tavern is a casual establishment that offers classic American food and a wide selection of beers. The menu consists of traditional pub fare such as burgers, sandwiches, and appetizers. The restaurant has a laid-back atmosphere, making it an ideal place to enjoy good food with friends. Despite being slightly pricey, the quality and quantity of the dishes are satisfying. Additionally, Valley Lodge Tavern boasts a diverse beer lineup and an extensive selection of brown liquor at its full bar.
This place has amazing food and service. The drink pours are amazing. As well as the sloppy Joe's, chicken kabobs, saganaki. To be honest I've tried almost every item on the menu and I'm never disappointed. The fireplace is such a perk come winter time. And the service is phenomenal. Everyone is so nice and it really makes you feel welcomed. And their green beans are to die for.

The restaurant is sophisticated,an upscale dining atmosphere but the prices are reasonable. Marjorie has a top natch caliber in her customer service! We left our credit card and she ran outside to give it to us. The food is so delicious! We will be back!

Torn between 3 and 4 stars. We went here celebrate my daughters college graduation. We had 11 guest a 715 reservation but didn't get seated right away but other parties did. We ordered several apps. Nachos were good. But rest of food was average. I'll come back try other things and will revisited my review.

Great food, great employees, great place. My family loves this place. The manager Chris is the best. He is down to earth and cares about all his customers. The hostess Lilly is awesome and super friendly. Eating here a few days in a row is not unheard of because all the food is great. We will see you there!

It might be a little bit expensive when you think about it, but when you actually see the food and the quality of it plus the portions, you're more than satisfied. I like to come here quite a bit for the atmosphere, the food, and to do some people watching. Very solid beer lineup as well. If you're into the brown liquor, there's a lot to choose from. Full bar is great, especially for this area.

As much as I wish Wilmette wasn't turning into a "restaurant destination" town, this great old Glenview family joint is a welcome addition to our downtown. They grabbed the perfect corner property and have done it proud with a terrific service both indoor and outside on their spacious sidewalk sets. The staff excels, are super friendly, and the menu is well suited to the neighborhood with American classics. I'll sit at the bar happily to take in a game anytime, but it will be crowded if the weather keeps patrons inside. RECOMMENDED

Me and my family visited Valley Lodge Wilmette for the first time today (3-24-2024). Let me start by saying we will most likely never return. Our group of 6 arrived promptly for our 1:30 reservation. At 1:45 we ordered our meal consisting of 6 sandwiches. After about 30 minutes we were thanked for our patience and we would be served soon. We were trying our best to be patient but patience was running thin. At 50 minutes we decided to wait for 10 and then leave. At exactly 1 hour our food was served. Three of the sandwiches were barely warm and three were mediocre. Three orders of fries were cold and three were fine. We were told that the reason for the delay was due to a large group be served. This excuse is unacceptable.

Great family-friendly restaurant in the heart of Downtown Wilmette. We had the bbq pork sliders and the beef tenderloin sliders this time. Both were really good. They also have great sweet potato fries. I love their outdoor seating - perfect for people watching on a warm spring night. Service was great, and I love that I can pay the bill from my phone through the toast app.

First time going here and everything was GREAT! Chris gave us a complimentary dessert because it was our first visit. When he found out it was my bday... He brought out another dessert with a candle. No complaints at all!

I have been going there for years, and it keeps getting worse. My fried chicken was re-heated in the Oven. Parts were burnt and over cooked. Also no setup at bar at all. Just not up to par for the price. Very nice people, but I wanted a good meal, and that is NOT what I got.
Jon Ack — Google review
Located in Wilmette, this establishment masterfully combines the lively atmosphere of a Greek diner with the homey feel of an American tavern. My first experience was marked by exceptionally warm, welcoming, and responsive service. Not only does it offer a wide range of drink options, including creative mocktails and non-alcoholic beers, but the food menu is equally impressive, catering to every palate in your party. This spot has become a true neighborhood gem, buzzing with energy on weekends and providing a cozy retreat for locals and visitors alike. Living in the Twin Cities but originally from Chicago, this place brought me a sense of homecoming. I look forward to coming back. Opa!

The menu features an array of nutritious choices that have gained popularity among customers, particularly the smoothie bowls and juices. With an emphasis on high-quality ingredients and generous portions, Fuel serves exceptional breakfasts accompanied by great lattes.
We came on a Friday night for date night and got the ahi jalapeño appetizer, hubby got the beef bourguignon and beet salad and I had the duck risotto. Everything was absolutely delicious, jalapeños were on the spicy side. We got a table without a reservation quickly and loved the quiet classy atmosphere. Candles & flowers were nice touch. Will definitely be back with the kids! 👍

Food was great. We were given 2 cold water bottles as we sat down, but was surprised we were charged $2 at the end of the bill without having been asked if we wanted it or not and told that we'd be getting charged for it. The $6 cappuccino was tiny, but pretty.

Agee with other reviews about the rude owner. His behavior and demeanor are intense and condescending, scolded us and the waitress for no reason. The food was decent, the waitresses are lovely, but the owner needs to lighten up, show some respect to his customers and hard working employees.

Some of the best, freshest and artfully prepared food on the North Shore! I have yet to experience a dinner but I’m sure it will be inspired. The phrase, “You get what you pay for” applies here as it’s not cheap but worth every penny!

An exceptional breakfast with high quality, fresh ingredients, generous portions and a great latte. The staff is warm and attentive without being in your space. After eating, I sat to do some work while drinking the latte and felt comfortable to just BE. Clean and light atmosphere with dedicated local patrons who interact with the staff, including the owner, like Cheers. Wilmette is lucky to have Fuel.

I don't even know where to start. The owner of this place is a complete A hole to say it nicely. First, he wouldn't seat us as our entire party wasn't there. Understandable if packed, but there were 8 empty tables. Five minutes later we were sat. 5 minutes after that, he moved us another table because table we were at a 6 top and we were 4 and he had a reservation in 45 minutes. We told him we were old friends catching up and going to be there awhile. We totally understood the move. Then things went downhill fast. As we were looking at the menus, he literally came over and took our menus as he didn't have enough as we were told we had had them long enough. REALLY...print some more!! The food came and 2 of 4 were wrong. Then the owner comes back around refilling coffee, tilts pot to pour and nothing comes out because it's empty. But he plays it off like he refilled us and doesn't come back. 5 minutes later, he's back with check. One in the group says "please just split it 4 ways." His response, "please give me one card and you all can Venmo each other." We all looked at each other in disbelief. As we continue to chat, not having been there for over an hour, he comes back and asks us to leave because they are now on a wait. So after a $100+ breakfast(no alcohol), catching up with life long friends, we are asked to leave. He's an absolute joke and needs to learn class and customer service.

Fuel is a little gem hidden by the train station in Wilmette. My husband and I have been coming here for breakfast for over a year now and am embarrassed that I have yet to thank this team for the amazing food, hospitality and service by writing a review. Tim is always so friendly we feel like we are at home. There is no better egg sandwich in the city!

A pretty good, conveniently located spot! Staff is really friendly and the manager was friendly as well (seems like he’s changed his ways based on previous reviewers, at least during my experience). In terms of vegan options, they’ve got a few things on the menu. The veggie burger (no brioche bun) and oatmeal are pretty good. They’ve got almond milk for coffee as well.

Steak house
Restaurant
Sophia Steak Wilmette is a restaurant with a stylish and contemporary interior that provides an ideal setting for an upscale dining experience. The menu at Sophia Steak features prime cuts of beef, which are dry-aged in-house for 28 days to ensure they are exceptionally tender and flavorful. In addition to their steak offerings, the restaurant also serves a variety of seafood dishes, including lobster tail and shrimp scampi.
My young sons and I went out for a fun dinner while mom was out of town for work. Susie our waitress was awesome and they did a terrific job. Both my sons were super happy and had a great time. I enjoyed the shrimp cocktail and super green salad. The oldest devoured the iron steak (his favorite cut) and my youngest enjoyed the chicken fingers. We will have to bring mom back.

While looking for a good steakhouse in the northern suburbs we came across Sophia’s. Great 1st time experience. The service was pleasant and timely. Atmosphere is good. But the best part was the food! We had picked the Porterhouse Steak and what a great choice it was. Prepped exactly how we wanted it, we’ll seasoned with delicious choice of sides and sauces. Appetizers were very tasty. And desert did not disappoint either. This place certainly gets my vote. And if you decide to go, make a reservation. Even though the place is pretty big, it fills up very fast

Valerie Sanchez — Google review
I patronize Sophia Steak at least once or two times a month if not more frequently, and I must say that the food is not consistent and the quality appears to be declining. Given that Sophia Steak is a rather high end Steak House restaurant, anyone would expect the service to be top notch. However, not only do the staff at Sophia Steak have a poor attitude, they have, by far, the worst attitude that I have ever encountered at any restaurant in Wilmette and the surrounding Northshore area. On two separate occasions, my medium rare Delmonico Ribeye steak was served blue rare. The first time it happened, my stomach was upset all through the night and the next day. The second time it happened, I brought the steak up to medium rare in my home oven, which of course compromised the taste. While my steak was in the oven, I gave Sophia Steak a call, but the woman on the other end, who I believe was one of the hostess, did not issue any compensation – not even in the form of an apology. The first time I ordered their Lobster & Shishito, it was great. The second time I ordered it a few months later, it was abysmal. The batter was thick to the extent that there was more batter than there was lobster meat. Some bites were only batter and no lobster. Now let's talk about their Prime Rib special on Saturday nights. I ordered the end cut, but received a normal cut. By this point, I had grew accustomed to the possibility that Sophia Steak had messed up one way or another, so I checked my order before driving home. True enough, they did not serve me the end cut like I had ordered, so I went back to the restaurant. The hostess and one of the male staff who I assume might be in a managerial position because he was wearing a suit, took my order from my hands without exchanging any words with me and walked to the kitchen at the back of the restaurant. Once again, there was no apology whatsoever, and literally nothing was said to me. No words were exchanged at all during this transaction. I simply stood by the side, awkwardly waiting, assuming that they were going to correct it, which they did. I have never encountered such poor and rude attitude at any restaurant in Wilmette and the surrounding Northshore area. I am honestly appalled by the service and attitude at Sophia Steak. The staff seem to pick and choose which customers to be nice to, which is honestly such low behavior and attitude. On this note, keep in mind that if you walk into this establishment and are not a white or at least white-passing, the staff at Sophia Steak will automatically assume that you are a delivery driver here to pick up an order for a customer. Treating a customer who isn't white or white-passing differently is apparently a recurring problem at Sophia Steak as another reviewer commented. I have yet to encounter such discrimination from any restaurants in the area except at Sophia Steak. Keep in mind that this is not isolated only at their Wilmette location; it happens at their restaurant in Lake Forest, which I sometimes patronize. On another occasion, I ordered my usual Prime Rib end cut, which came almost well done, hard, and with very little to no marbling. As you can see from the pictures, the meat was so dry you could shred it. It's hard to imagine that it was USDA Prime rather than Choice given the lack of marbling and dryness of the Prime Rib. When the food at Sophia Steak is done right, it is, by far, one of the best restaurants in the area. When it's done poorly, don't expect any compensation whatsoever including an apology. I will leave this review with a pro tip: Check your order before driving home because half the time, they've got your order wrong.

Great food and great service: Great: - tomahawk - Delmonico ribeye - Caesar salad - wedge salad, bacon was amazing - apple crisp dessert with ice cream - bread! Not bad: - fried chicken Just ok: - broccoli - whipped mashed potatoes - potatoes au gratin - Brussels sprouts

I have been wanting to try Sophia’s for a couple years now but never got around to it - until now. It was my birthday so seemed like the perfect opportunity to splurge. I didn’t make a reservation because it’s Thursday - but they are so popular they were full and we almost got turned away - but the lovely host and hostess somehow squeezed us in. We had mocktails to start, and then a beautiful porterhouse steak and two sides: the cream spinach (amazing) and the Brussels sprouts (also fantastic). We ordered the steak medium rare but it came out closer to rare. We didn’t mind it and the meat was tasty and juicy. It came with two sauces as well, bernaise and the house sauce, both were great condiments to the steak. The service was friendly and professional. I’ll be happy to be back and try more of their cuts and menu items as well as their wine and cocktail list some day.

Great meal! Ribeye was really good but salmon is the best! Fries are very tasty so are the appetizers - steak tartare and jumbo shrimp! Best steak house near Evanston!

Want to share the amazing (and first) experience I had here. Service as a whole was phenomenal, food came out in reasonable time and server (great guy!) was out to check on us plenty of times and make sure we were satisfied. The food was the star of the visit, obviously. The ribeye was perfectly cooked, extremely tender and was seasoned perfectly. The sides: Brussels sprouts with bacon & leek, whipped potatoes, and steak cut fries were all also phenomenal. Nothing was too over seasoned or under seasoned, and the value was reasonable within steakhouse prices. Absolutely plan to come back. This was a phenomenal steakhouse, and properly run as well.

We had such a positive experience at Sophia last night that I had to write a review. The food was delicious but the service could not have been better. My husband and I were there with our 2-year-old for a last dinner out before I have a baby. From the hostess and manager, to our server (Sean) and table staff, everyone was so friendly and attentive to our needs (and those of our toddler’s ha). Thank you for such a wonderful dining experience, Sophia Steak!
Elizabeth Gates Powell — Google review
I'm a regular customer at Sophia Steak in Wilmette, but the quality seems to be declining recently. The kitchen is inconsistent and unreliable; the food is sometimes good and other times it falls way short. Their Saturday Prime Rib special used to be outstanding, but it was gray, well done, dry, and tough during my last two orders. As you can see from the photo, there was barely any ribeye cap or fat; instead, it was gray and well done. The Lobster & Shishito was previously a great appetizer, but there was more batter than there was lobster meat in my last order. Some bites were only batter and no lobster. Their Delmonico Ribeye Steak, which is one of the best steaks that I have ever had, is sadly inconsistent. The kitchen sometimes gets the temperature spot on, but other times, they miss the mark. On two separate occasions, I ordered the steak medium rare, but it was served blue rare. The first time it happened, my stomach was uneasy throughout the night and the next day. The second time it happened, I brought the steak up to medium rare in my home oven. While my steak was in the oven, I gave Sophia Steak a call to notify them of the problem, but the woman on the other end, who sounded like one of the hostesses was indifferent and did not even issue a word of apology. On another occasion, my steak was seared burned on the outside, which made every bite of it bitter. It's truly disappointing. I don't expect perfection, but the quality and service from Sophia – a premier steakhouse – has been falling short from being at least decent recently. It's inconsistent and therefore unreliable. I want to be able to order a nice meal from Sophia without fear or feeling like the quality is going to be a toss-up or gamble. On of their entree, which has been consistently good, however, is their Miso-Glazed Salmon. Some people may say to never order seafood at a steakhouse, but I disagree with that idea. A good steakhouse would be able to execute any appetizer, entree, or dessert well.

Sophia Steak House team creates almost a magical experience for their visitors. From the moment we were welcomed the first question was what kind of experience are we looking for. In the rooms covered in dark and mysterious wood we enjoyed an attentive service, carefully prepared dishes and drinks. Greg was fantastic and allowed us to just relax and enjoy this wonderful dinner. Thank you team Sophia. Well done.
