This cozy eatery and bar offers traditional American cuisine in a charming setting with a friendly atmosphere. It is highly regarded by patrons, some of whom travel from Connecticut to visit every December for the renowned Yankee Candle and a meal at Wolfie's. The dedicated staff, delightful food, and delectable pies never fail to impress. Each year brings the same exceptional dining experience with outstanding service and mouthwatering desserts.
We love this place! We’re from Connecticut but every December we make a trip to Deerfield for Yankee Candle and diner at Wolfie’s we’ve never been disappointed the staff is awesome, the food is great and the pies amazing. Every year it’s the same great food, great service, and great pie. And shout out to today’s waitress she told me her name but in typical fashion I don’t remember it, I think it was Susan anyway thank Susan and Wolfie’s for another memorable year!!!

Food was very good. Onion rings were premium. Took carrot cake home and had later. It was also great, especially the frosting!

Food was good. As a chef I automatically find faults. If I visit Vermont again I may stop by again.

Update 6/22/23 : Went back with another group today, my food was excellent and service was very good at my table.... only problem was that our friends at next table didn't get their food until we were done with dessert and their food was either over cooked or under cooked ??? Seems like they are not consistent. If they can't handle a large group then say so ! We called ahead and they were expecting us and we got there early too. They made no attempt to make things right.... ( Our first trip ) : Great food. Stopped for lunch with friends, everyone thought it was excellent. It was very clean and the staff were very friendly and professional. Their pie choices were incredible. Highly recommend that you stop here. It looks small but there's lots of room inside.

American family restaurant with bar. Older looking decor, nothing fancy. Seating for larger groups also. It was packed the night we went. The waitresses were great. The food portions were large. We definitely had left overs. Unfortunately we were too full to try any of their many desserts. I highly recommend going here for good American food.

Decent. I got the Jamaican jerk chicken and my girlfriend got a buffalo salad, my “jerk chicken” was just chicken with bbq sauce and my girlfriends buffalo salad had nothing buffalo about it. Wolfies is known for there free buttery popcorn that is served before the food comes out however our very kind waitress informed us they no long serve popcorn. Staff was very kind and atmosphere was very comfortable, nice place to bring the family but food is noting special

Great lunch, always something new to try. So many choices for pie. Reasonable pricing, good food & service.

Food is fine, pretty basic and nothing fancy. Pretty much a family style restaurant with friendly staff. Can be painfully slow, over an hour wait our last visit for really pretty basic food. No acknowledgement from the staff during the very excessive wait, or offer of anything such as chips or bread. Hard to trust we can go on their with a child, a lot to ask for kids to wait so long.

First time here! Loved it. Greeted with a smile and were seated immediately. It was busy, particularly with the 20 or so "Red Hat" ladies luncheon. Our order was taken quickly and arrived hot and perfectly cooked.
Patricia Becker — Google review
The food is amazing. Burgers were cooked perfect to our request, and rather affordable too! The only thing I would say could improve are the fries, maybe a little more warm, but they are still really good fries. Very amazed and super satisfied

Nice home town place. Stopped in for dinner. The bison burger tasted good and the fries were crispy. The cajun chicken breast although a bit thin, it was still juicy. Service was good -- very friendly staff.

Delicious meal. Wolfie’s was cozy and was a great place to stop after visiting Yankee Candle. The food was really good and they had a great selection of different pies. Matt our server was incredibly helpful and overall it was a great experience. We look forward to eating there again when we are in the area.

We were there 4 our 10th anniversary for dinner. Waited 10 mins to be seated, 20 mins to take our order and almost 35 minutes to get our food. We had steak which was nothing but mainly fat, no actual flavor cold when we received it. A bacon cheeseburger, no flavor whatsoever and it was cold as well as our fries and onion rings. The normal customers were treated so well compared to us. Our bill was about 50$ and was left a 10$ tip not because of great service but maybe help them make a better area. Put limits on ppl being the restaurant if you don't have enough employees there to cook or serve food... NEVER EATING THERE AGAIN
Crystal Tacy — Google review
I had the jalapeño poppers to start as an appetizer, which were very tasty, cheesy and hot. They came with a side of salsa for lunch. I had the turkey club sandwich with onion rings on wheat bread toasted, and my wife had the blackened cod sandwich with sweet potato fries, they were both delicious. We both had the dessert after dinner and my wife had the Boston cream pie and I had the chocolate Reese’s peanut Butter cream pie would definitely come back in order it again our waitress Angela was on point when she recommended a couple of our dishes and she was very helpful if there was anything we needed

Italian restaurant
During our visit to the area, we decided to dine at Gianni Fig's Ristorante, a local eatery. Despite not having reservations and the restaurant being quite busy, we were promptly seated as a group of four. Our server, Star, was friendly and attentive throughout the meal. We took advantage of their special menu and were all satisfied with our choices. The appetizers - arancini and eggplant rolatini - were both delectable and beautifully presented.
We were visiting the area and stopped in to this local eatery. We did not have reservations and the establishment was fairly busy, however, they were able to seat our party of four immediately. Our server, Star, was very congenial and attentive. We took advantage of their special and were all pleased with our selections. The arancini and egg plant rolatini appetizers were delicious and plated nicely. The entrees came with a choice of soup or salad; both of which had several options. I had the veal chop burratta which was superb. Others in our group had the grill to table ribeye and the veal Florentine which they also enjoyed. Overall, our experience here was delightful and we will definitely return here when in the area again.

If you're looking for excellent Italian food this place is definitely worth the drive. This is a hidden gem in Deerfield Massachusetts. The pictures of the food don't do it justice. I've been to this place a few times and any review I leave does not do a justice of how good it is.
Michael Madsen — Google review
A lovely and laid back little Italian restaurant. I had the vegetarian arancini with a chocolate margarita, and a cannoli for dessert; everything was delicious! They have some good vegetarian options and everything is reasonably priced. They do fill up quickly shortly after they open, so it's better to be safe and call in for a reservation.;)

The service, the food and atmosphere here was excellent. I can't say enough about it. I'm so glad we made the trip here. This was by far one of the best dining experiences that we have had. Also, I would like to thank our dining assistant Star. You really our time here special.

Gianni’s is my favorite restaurant in town. Marina is a charm and we absolutely love her company at the bar. The quality and amount of food for low prices is a plus. You can’t go wrong with anything on the menu and all of soups are great. I highly recommend it!

The food was phenomenal with large portions of shrimp scampi and veal marsala accompanied by soup and salad. Our waitress Amanda was wonderful and very attentive! Will definitely make the hour and a half drive to go again!

Our meals were excellent, my wife said the Lasagne was one of the best she has had, and she has had it numerous places in Italy! My Gorgonzola pasta with chicken was also excellent. Good selection of reasonably priced, good tasting wines as well. Can’t wait to go back!!

After being recommended by 2 co-workers I decided to order catering for our staff xmas gathering. We were excited about the food. When we got to Giannis they were closed for dining but were able to come in and get our order. At that time we were told that the potatoes and vegetables were not available. Disappointed to find out day of but we were told that we were given pasta in place of it. When we got to our location and set out the food we didn't get pasta and I had to call them and let them know. The young man that was helping us the whole time didn't know much and had to keep going back to Gianni to ask which was a little annoying. Finally we just asked them if we can get a credit applied to our card for the inconvenience. The young man said he would tell Gianni. We never got the credit and had to eat our Chicken Picatta without potatoes and veggies or pasta. It was good but I will not be ordering from them again unfortunately.

Made reservations for 545. Arrived early at 5:30. Staff Argued that we had made a reservation for two people I had called 15 minutes prior. I made a reservation for four finally said oh right you’re right here sat us at a table for eight. Service was extremely slow, took us an hour and 20 minutes to receive our meal. We had no bread delivered when everyone around us did we did not complain initially, but when we noticed that the table that came in 15 minutes after us received their full meal and our waiter said oh the kitchen is behind. We realize that he probably never put our order in, our food was OK. It was good I’m not gonna complain about that we asked to speak with the manager we were told the manager was actually the cook, and could not be bothered to come out and see us because he was too busy cooking and serving other customers sorry not a good review from us and we really aren’t high maintenance people That was ridiculous. They didn’t comp us anything they charged us the full price on our entire menu which was for a table of four they should’ve tried to offer some thing they should’ve tried to talk to us. I don’t know people food was OK. It wasn’t amazing would not ever go again and would not recommend it to others .

Felt like a very upscale Italian restaurant, but the prices were reasonable. The food was very good and filling! Highly recommended for good food. It gets very crowded so I recommend having a reservation.

Food is delicious. I had the Chicken Cordon Blue. Yum!! So good. Atmosphere is very cozy. The waitstaff is exceptional. The owner is very nice and always greets us when we are there.

My girlfriend and I were passing through town on our way back to Hartford and stopped in for dinner. Despite not having reservations and being busy, they were able to seat us immediately. The dining room and bar has a cozy ambience and is tastefully decorated. The wait staff could not have been more friendly and attentive. Most importantly, the food was excellent. I had angel hair pasta with pesto sauce and my girlfriend had baked haddock and mashed potatoes, and both were delicious. The portions were huge, which means we’ll both get a second meal from our leftovers. The salads and Italian bread were also good and fresh, and our cannolis were a tasty dessert. We can’t say enough about this place, and will definitely come back on a future trip.
Justin Gray — Google review
I must say, right from the start, we had a very pleasant experience. The wait staff was very friendly and courteous and the atmosphere was very nice. Great location for a date night. The cocktail I had was amazing, called the Smash and Grab 🥃👊 My wife enjoyed her glass of wine. The seafood chowder was delicious. Now, I've only had Seabass a few other times and I love my seafood, but this was absolutely amazing. My compliments to the chef. The seabass was perfectly prepared and the wine sauce really complimented the dish. My wife absolutely enjoyed her shrimp scampi; it's not your everyday, drowned in butter sauce scampi either. They make their own pasta and use nice sized shrimp for the dish and nicely seasoned as well with avocado. We were well fed and took our canoli home. I highly recommend this restaurant 👌 Yes, you could spend quite a bit here depending upon your bar tab, but overall this location is pretty reasonable ✌

I absolutely love Holiday Pizza. I order from this place multiple nights a week without hesitation. When I crave pizza, I opt for their small bacon and hamburg pizza, which consists of 8 small slices. It's usually enough for me, as I like to save some space for dessert afterwards. If I'm in the mood for a grinder, I go for their small meatball grinder with sauce, cheese, and of course, juicy meatballs.
No complaints here. I'm not ashamed to admit that I eat here numerous times a week. Pizza is spot on and their prices can't be beat. I also luv their tuna and pastrami grinders. Friendly family business. No more needs to be said...

Couple times here with large bus charter groups and the food is always outstanding.. My passengers love the fresh chicken wings, ,the salad with crispy chicken. The pizza is out of this world good. My sub,, just a simple tuna,, unbelievable delicious. I coming back for more.

The best pizza in town, local resident recommends! Not greasy and cooked with care! Only downside is no delivery. Friendly service and polite staff! Highly recommend AAA++

Absolutely delicious pizza, super nice staff! We had the four cheese pesto pizza and added mushrooms and artichoke hearts. Magnifico! Baklava was also yummy. They also have calzones and other menu items that I bet are just as delicious. Great stop you don't want to miss.

We love this pizza place. Our favorite is the chicken bacon ranch pizza and chef salad. Their wings are yummy, too. Also, they give children a lollipop if they come in to pick up a pizza with mom or dad, and our son loves it! Thanks Holiday, you guys are great

Great pizza, one of the few places you can do a Kielbasa and Eggplant pizza 😋

I absolutely adore Holiday Pizza. I order from here.... Way more nights a week than I care to admit. When I want pizza... We get a small bacon and hamburg.. it's 8 small slices.. we think it is enough.. cuz of course we have to save room for some kind of dessert later on.. When I want a grinder... I get a small meatball grinder.. sauce , cheese, and of course the meatballs 🤪🤪🤪. He usually gets a small ham and cheese grinder... He is always happy with that.

Driving back down to NY from Keene, NH, this is right off 91 near the Cumberland gas station. We tried it cuz we wanted some hot food. Had our doubts when they don’t sell by the slices, but ordering a small Holiday Specialty pizza was a good call, it definitely hit the spot!! Crust is just the right thickness and crunchy on the rim; cheese isn’t crazy heavy but just the right balance with the rest of their toppings. Saving this pizza place as a go-to on our future ski trips.
Yue L — Google review
I really enjoy their pizza - they have a veggie pizza really reasonably priced which is awesome for me as a vegetarian! And hard to find other places! You don’t have to pay for each vegetable separately like you would normally.

Food here is always incredible. Polite staff, fair prices, no long wait times. Glad to support this local establishment. Great BBQ chicken bacon ranch and excellent pepperoni onions peppers hamburg pizzas

I ordered 2 garlic bread with cheese a large crispy chicken salad and a large cheese pizza. Now I'm from Brooklyn and I gotta say without a doubt. This makes my top 5 list of best pizza I've ever had and the salad and the garlic bread was magnificent amazing prices thank you so much to everyone who made the meal!!!!!

Great service and excellent pizza! The food tasted delicious! Street parking is free (1 hour limit) and conveniently located right in front of the pizza shop. It is also around the corner from Yankee Candle Village, and we had opted out of eating over there due to the crowd. We were very happy with the food at Holiday Pizza and glad we decided to visit!

Champney's Restaurant & Tavern is an elegant yet relaxed eatery that serves sophisticated American cuisine. With its cozy fireplaces and classy mahogany bar, this upscale-casual establishment offers a refined dining experience. The restaurant boasts a knowledgeable and hospitable server named Michelle, who possesses extensive menu knowledge and gladly answers any inquiries. She also adds a touch of humor to the dining experience.
We got married here twenty years ago, and it is just as beautiful. The food was incredible....and we got to listen to talented jazz musicians. S perfect vibe.

After a day touring museums, it was nice to sit down to a well prepared meal. Located in the youngest building on the street, this charming restaurant has well-earned my hopefully soon to be repeated business. They were very accommodating to everyone in my party, and made sure that everything was just as it should be. I recommend the sheppard's pie as it's made with the correct ingredients. It was delicious. Also amazing was that they offer white anchovies on the Cesar salad. You never get that kind of quality anymore. It is definitely worth a stop in if you're passing through.

I really enjoyed dining here. The food was delicious and the staff were friendly and professional. Parking is great and convenient. The restaurant seemingly caters to an older crowd and has a wide wine selection. I am looking forward to going back again soon.
Adam Wuoti — Google review
Parking can be tight, and it’s a bit of a maze to find your way in, but 2 friends and I shared 3 entrees, and 8 drinks. I had the fish and chips, and I was honestly shocked how small the pieces of fish were. But it tasted good. First drink sounded great, but did not taste or appear to be made well. Second was better, but didn’t exactly match the description. It’s an old building, so it has some charm, but some parts feel dated as well. I’d probably go back to try some other items, but wasn’t overly impressed.
Scott Tencza — Google review
Michelle was an incredible server. Very kind, welcoming. She knew a lot about the menu and answered all our questions thoughtfully. She had a great sense of humor as well. The food was incredible. I had two specials, both of which were delicious , the duck salad was a whole experience. This restaurant will have you coming back for more. Great drink selection, good vibes and good service.

RUN AWAY!!!! Just the most horrible experience I've ever had at a restaurant in my entire life and I'm not even exaggerating... Absolutely the worst food I've ever tasted. First they burnt my food then when they sent me a new dish it was just as bad.. If there's a gas station you could eat at, do it.. But don't go here. Nice people. Nice building with a nice atmosphere... The most God awful horrible food I've ever tasted anywhere.. I had a party of 19. They could do nothing right in the kitchen. ... served us raw garlic. These people have no business running a restaurant.

Awesome New England restaurant. Excellent service and great food. I had a cup of clam chowder that was the best New England clam chowder I ever had. Then the chicken pot pie was even better. Our waiter was so cool, friendly, pleasant and fun. Loved everything about the place.

Hillside Pizza is a relaxed eatery offering traditional pizza, take-and-bake pies, slices, salads, and wraps. What sets this place apart is their ability to create mouthwatering dishes using only top-notch ingredients without any questionable techniques. Their culinary expertise in making exceptional pizzas from simple and legitimate components is truly commendable. As far as I know in 2022, Hillside Pizza stands alone as the go-to pizza joint in New England.
Loved this pizza restaurant right on the site of Yankee Candle. After a long day of shopping, it was so convenient to be able to grab a bite to eat before we headed home. Loved all the board games and cards for the kids to play while we waited for our pizzas. Also loved all the beer and wine selections.
Jamie Pavelcsyk — Google review
This Hillside pizza is located inside Yankee Candle. Prices are reasonable. We ordered Caesar chicken wrap which was lacking in flavor/bland. The chicken bacon pizza was okay. I like the thin crust but for some reason, it had a mild bitter aftertaste even if the crust is not burnt. If you’re not really hungry then find something else. But even if the food didn’t taste so good, the displays of beautiful merchandise and the smell of Christmassy scents made eating here so much better and the staff has excellent customer service.

Great pizza. The new location is fun. We liked the ability to get a pizza and then a flight from Powder Hollow.
Kait Kehoe — Google review
Went in for lunch, expecting to find a pizza place that offered beer. What we got was a small brewery that offered what seemed to be pre-made food. We ordered personal pizzas and wraps. The pizza was not cooked through, very doughy, and not much flavor. The wraps were a good size but also missing flavor. The garlic knots were also not cooked. I would recommend stopping in if you want a beer, but I would pass if you're looking for a good meal.
Dean Fortin — Google review
This location is located in the Powder Hollow Brewery. They serve great pizza and really goes well with the beer from Powder Hollow. There are individual sizes and large sizes as well, along with salad menus. Highly recommend!
Fernando Graham — Google review
COVERED in grease, cheese was barley melted or was just really bad quality, tasteless toppings. Garlic knots were cold with no flavor. They forgot our sauce which was whatever until when we got it is was just an ice cold cup of Prego. The cashier was nice but the food was honestly just gross. Not from the area so maybe it’s the only thing around. Brewery was ok.

this review is for the 'pizza' place inside yankee candle/on same property as yankee candle factory store. we arrived just before 12 pm on a Saturday when there was hardly anyone there yet, which was nice. we used the bathroom (womens) and the first stall had zero tp. thank goodness I was in there so I could hand my family member some tp. I told the young adult working at the pizza place she said 'go tell the bartender, that's their responsibility'. (?) The customer service inside yankee candle compared to the restaurant was like night and day. When I told the bartender she looked exhausted and annoyed. The food was OK. I wish we drove down the street to another pizza shop. It was fresh but boring. The turkey 'gobbler' was just 'blah' I don't know how else to explain it. It was food. Once the place started getting busy, the 'trash' which was an empty black bucket on top of an actual trash can (?) was loaded. No idea why they don't have regular trash cans, lol. They also have all the silverware near the pizza shop, only. So, if you sit far away you have to walk across the entire restaurant to get napkins or knives which they don't give you any of when you pick up your food at the window. We had a family of 8 so we had to make several trips to get silverware napkins, etc. What a pain in the butt. Overall food was OK but they took the service right out of the word 'customer service'.
Alicia White — Google review
The pizza was absolutely delicious! But was from out of town and looking for a restaurant type sit down pizza place. You had to stand in line to order and pickup when called. The menu was very limited, but I would probably go again if up that way. The pizza was really that good. It was also a brewery, so for you beer drinkers, looked like they had a lot of variety!
Monica Goulet — Google review
Anyone can make delicious food out of trash ingredients. It’s ridiculously easy, which is why so many people, and “businesses” do it. Making excellent pizza from simple and legitimate ingredients - with no sketchy “tricks” - is true culinary talent. This is the only pizza place in New England (that I’m aware of, as of 2022) that I will eat at. Thank you for cooking with integrity. Please consider openly and completely listing the ingredients used in your foods, on your website, for all to see. Yes, it is important, and yes, people do care. Those who do it like Hillside Pizza does should be proud. We’ll be back.
