Italian restaurant
Marzano is a restaurant that pays homage to the quality and authenticity of Naples, Italy. The cooks are trained by renowned pizzaiolas, ensuring an authentic taste with every bite of pizza. The ambiance is modern yet classy, with ample natural light streaming in through multiple windows. Established in September 2018, Marzano's staff trained under pizzaiolo Enzo Coccia in Naples to perfect their pizza dough.
I didn’t expect this restaurant gem in Nelson but was very pleasantly surprised! Both good and atmosphere on par with restos in most major city centres (TO, VAN for reference). The fungi pizza was exceptional, as was the pasta and wine selection. Service and atmosphere were great. Would absolutely go again

We had a great meal here, loved the funghi pizza and the burratta salad! Now we want to keep returning to try the rest of the menu, all the food going by us looked amazing!

My sister and I ate here when we were visiting Nelson, it took a while for us to be greeted but I’m forgiving as it was pretty busy. The staff was friendly and kind as well as attentive while still giving us space. The food was very good, I had never ate anything like the Ragu we got, it was strange but very enjoyable. we got the venison Ragu and chittara carbonara, the portions were good enough and we actually had leftovers but it wasn’t a ton of food. My sister got the soup for an appetizer and I got the gnocchi as a side dish, both were delicious,, its a little spendy but the flavors are great and I left with no regrets. it’s definitely an experience and a very fancy, clean, professional establishment. The pictures are of my carbonara and gnocchi

We hit up Marzano for breakfast after staying at the BW hotel that is connected. They did a huge renovation in the last few years, this place is clean and updated. Staff are friendly and efficient we had breakfast specials and it was well presented and very tasty. It was fairly busy by them time we left, but we did not have to wait for a seat, so I would think about getting here early during peak season. Thanks for a great start to our day.

It was a pleasant surprise. We randomly decided to stop in with a group of 10 for a early supper and ended up having one of the best overall experience dining out in a long time. The food was great but our server, Florentine was over the top. She was patient from the get go , helpfull and a great spirit. We will be back !!

We come to Nelson once a year and this is a place we visit every time, if not every day! The food is simply spectacular. We sat up at the pizza bar this time and the pizza chef Sy put so much care and attention into every pizza, it was like watching an artist create a masterpiece.

We had an amazing time dining here at Marzano. The food was very delicious and the service was amazing. Our server Erin was so nice and helpful. The GF pizza crust was so good and the tiramisu was amazing. Definitely would recommend checking out this amazing spot when in Nelson!

Great place with a great vibe. Food was absolutely delicious! Service was great! Highly recommend this place if you are looking for italian place in Nelson
Shoolin Saini — Google review
My girlfriend and I wanted to come here for dinner. Unfortunately, we didn't plan very well and they were full. We opted to join them for a brunch and that was an incredible decision. Service was super friendly, even though we were "those people" and sat at the dirty table (me calling us that, not them). Food was incredible, I can't accent that enough. I ordered their house Caesar and it was so clever and delicious, I could have had so many more! Fair price and in a solid piece of the town. I'll be HIGHLY recommending this to everyone I know and we WILL be back. Stand up applause, you guys, and well deserved!

Nice, high end atmosphere. It felt very clean and modern. Loved that you could see the fire pizza oven from your table. The pizza was sooooo good. Thin crust, nice combo of flavors (even despite the fact I had to ask for a modification for a dietary restriction) . Appreciated the complimentary sparkling water. Our friends said the gluten free crust was good too.

My food was incredible. Best pasta of my life. My partner had something happen and they rectified it immediately and took care of us appropriately. Thank you for a wonderful experience and I will absolutely be returning. ✨️

I forgot to take a picture of the pasta we ordered but that was the best pasta I ever tried eveeeer! It was the seafood pasta and carbonara! The ambiance is really nice and the hotel voucher for this restaurant for breakfast is very worth it because it's only 11 dollars but the servings are huge!!
Jemeriah Ann Garrett — Google review
Came recommended for the pizza. Nice wood fired oven that produced a very nice crust. Well done. Good variety of toppings as well. None too heavy. 12 inch was enough to share with a salad. Overall, high marks. Great service as well.

Update: had dinner tonight, they were pretty busy. Food & wine were great. We had appies, wine, pizza and dessert.. lots of options. Good service. The restaurant was really busy and had to wait for a table but it was worth the wait. We often stay at the Best Western when in town, so it's nice they have a great restaurant connected to it. Had an amazing breakfast here, love the decor, more open concept restaurant, great service, yummy food. Definitely need to come here for dinner, I've heard it's the best pizza in town. Lots of servers and modern feel.

I wish I had taken more photos of the food! Our dinner here was wonderful. Our party also ordered a couple different kinds of pizza and a pasta, along with the risotto pictured. And ended with some gelato (the pistachio is to die for). Our server was very attentive and and answered all of our questions about the wines and menu. Overall it was a great dinner experience and the restaurant is very aesthetically pleasing too.

This place just makes me happy, clean beautifully decorated, wonderful staff. The food was fantastic. We ere here for breakfast shortly after they opened. I can't wait to come back and try their lunch and dinner options. The espresso specialty coffees were just what we needed. Drop in you wont be disappointed, the owner definitely cares about its customers and it business. I ordered the Smoked Pork Hash, it was fantastic, breaking from the traditional morning breakfast providing more then just a delicious meal but and experience I wont forget.

Thai restaurant
Busaba Thai Cafe is a Thai eatery that offers a variety of dishes such as spring rolls, curries, and noodles. The restaurant has a laid-back ambiance with bamboo decorations. Customers have praised the delicious Thai cuisine, particularly dishes like pad thai noodles, basil chicken, and Chicken Tom Kha Coconut Soup. While some guests found the atmosphere to be lacking due to its location in a hotel lobby with reused furniture and minimal Thai-inspired decor, others appreciated the prompt and friendly service.
Exceptional. Absolutely excellent. Tonight we went for the first time since the new ownership took over. I’d like to think I’ve had a lot of good Thai food during my time living in Thailand and the trips I’ve taken there since, but the curry I had tonight at Busaba tonight was possibly the best Thai dish I have had yet. Super friendly team running the place. Great service and absolutely incredible food. Nelson is seriously lucky to have this gem. I’m already thinking of what I’ll try next. Yum!
Ben Hall — Google review
Love the atmosphere and ambience of this restaurant. We got here during lunch hours and so we ordered their lunch specials. Spent about $18/entree for a lunch special, which i think is a bit high but food is good and portions are okay, although I wish curry portions were a lot more than a tiny bowl because it was delicious! We'll definitely come back if we happen to be in Nelson BC. area next time.

Great restaurant with prompt, courteous service, and a nice atmosphere. Had the Chicken Tom Kha Coconut Soup, it was excellent.

Delicious food, well prepared. Our family always gets a number of dishes that we share amongst us all. Favourites include Pad See Ew and Panaeng Curry. Every single dish we've tried over our several visits has been lovely and unique. The bubble tea is a hit with everyone. Lovely outdoor seating seasonally, and lots of space indoors as well. Great spot, one of the places we take visitors to Nelson to showcase the wonderful food this little town has.
Melyssa Sieber — Google review
Amazing food! Couldn’t take a picture quick enough we were already more than halfway through all the tasty dishes! Don’t judge by the picture, this has been ravaged over lol! This cafe is a mainstay for us, we will always be back.

We had a very pleasant meal at Busaba! The small patio was full so we ate inside and were happy we did! The restaurant was exceptionally clean and our server was pleasant and attentive. After sharing the fresh and delicious spring rolls as a starter, both myself and my girlfriend ordered the Pad Thai - hers with shrimp and mine with chicken. Both were very, very good! Large enough that we were both full AND able to have some for lunch at home the next day. Prices are reasonable also. Happy to have found them and will definitely return!.
John Campbell — Google review
I don’t normally review restaurants, but Busaba really stood out to me. Authentic taste and excellent customer service. Please don’t change your chefs, I’m coming back to try the rest of the menu, SO GOOD :)
Abin Alexander — Google review
Excellent thai food, which is why I gave the food portion of this rating 5 atars. Had the pad thai noodles, basil chicken and spring rolls. Atmosphere only 3 stars. They are located in a hotel lobby that has featured several more mainstream restaurants previously. They just adopted the old furniture and threw up a few thai inspired pictures. Service was okay. They got very busy shortly after we arrived. Specials were not revealed to us, which is a minor complaint. Lastly, i thought the prices were too high given portion size and prevailing food costs.
Brent Mccann — Google review
5* experience all around! Superbly nice waitstaff, authentic and delicious Thai food, great decor and ambiance! We had ordered the vegan Phad Thai and Stir Fry Veggies. Good size portions. My recommendation to the owner would be to either reduce the price of the 2 spring rolls to $6 (instead of $9) or offer 3 spring rolls for that price.
D S — Google review
Beautiful place with delicious food and yummy cocktails. I loved how flavorful every dish was. I especially loved the tofu pad thai and spring rolls. The lychee lemonade was refreshing.
Alexia Hines — Google review
First time for me in this restaurant, after many recommendations. We ordered two dishes, without really any flavor, and with missing elements in the pad thai. Also, I asked for a little bit of cilantro on my dish, and the manager told me it was $3 for extra cilantro (it's the same price for chicken). I then asked for explanations, to which she replied in an unsympathetic manner, that the price of coriander had increased recently. I found that really exaggerated, because we all know that it's not worth that price, and especially not the same price as meat. I am therefore disappointed with my experience, even if I was delighted to try this restaurant. I don't recommend.
Valentine Poirot — Google review
I had the drunken noodle stir fry with prawns and it was really flavourful. The spring rolls were good but kinda small for $9. Overall the food is delicious, cooked hot to order and crave-able.
Quinten Balfour — Google review
I've wanted to try this place for a while and squeezed in an appetizer and drinks tonight. Cozy place and an interesting decor, with only 10 tables or so. Roti curry and fried chicken skins - the sauces are both amazing, though the chicken skins could have used a bit more sauce. Melt in your mouth, crispy. The roti - a kind of fried flatbread - was flaky and paired well with the flavourful curry sauce. Also some fancy mocktail options on the menu. I went with the lychee lemonade. Sweet and refreshing, with real lychee fruit included. I should have stirred it a bit more because the drink ended with a lot of syrup (not that my sweet tooth minded). I plan to come back for a full date night experience - the entrées eing served around us all looked delicious.
Roxy S — Google review
We were absolutely delighted with the cuisine and service. The food is very tasty and well presented. Bravo to the chef! The interior and atmosphere are very pleasant and original . Highly recommend.

This food is SO good. We had a curry, pad Thai and spring rolls. All of it was delicious. I will definitely go again.

Baldface Lodge is an all-inclusive ski retreat located in the backcountry, offering relaxed accommodations and chalets, as well as dining and massage services. It is renowned for its exceptional snow conditions, extensive terrain, and stunning glade riding opportunities. What truly distinguishes Baldface Lodge is its commitment to creating a memorable experience through meticulous attention to detail and a distinctive culture.
Baldface Lodge is a "bucket list once in a lifetime trip" that is so good you have to explain to your family why you need to keep going back. Just wrapped up 11th trip to my favorite winter getaway. The terrain, staff, food, lodge life, safety are all awesome. Looking forward to 2025
Robert Hatlestad — Google review
Lost my bucket list opportunity. They canceled my trip a little over a week before I was scheduled. They offered me to come a week early… Who can change an international trip with that short of notice? For my inconvenience they offered me 10% off, thanks but that doesn’t match up with the inconvenience of changing an entire trip. Also, they didn’t help me connect with anyone else that could replace the trip. When I researched other companies there were no other operators in the area with availability or a similar trip. Not only did they cancel but they did it so late I had no other opportunities. To throw salt on the wound, it’s going to be a powder day when I was scheduled with them… I would not recommend this company as you cannot count on them to follow through.

Baldface Lodge is a "bucket list once in a lifetime trip" that is so good you have to explain to your family why you need to keep going back. 2022 was my first year back in five years but 9th trip in total. The terrain, staff, food, lodge life, safety are all 5 stars. They have really grown into a world class operation over the last 15 or so years and I hope to be back again next year.

Baldface Lodge is on a level all of it's own. It's known for its incredible snow, vast terrain and amazing glade riding. But what really sets it apart is the culture and attention to detail they go to create an experience that guests will remember forever. Enter the dreamworld of Baldface Lodge.

Bar & grill
Finley's Bar & Grill is a lively, family-run pub with a patio offering hearty fare and beautiful lake views. While some visitors have had mixed experiences with the drinks, many praise the friendly service provided by the staff. The food is described as nice and filling, although some feel that certain items are overpriced. Despite occasional issues with cocktails, patrons appreciate the overall great service and vibe at Finley's Bar & Grill.
I went here to enjoy a nice refreshing lager but instead was served a cold cup of brown fizzy water. The server was a tall handsome man with long brown curly hair, after whispering sweet nothings about building into my ear holes I quickly realized he could be the love of my life. He gracefully escorted me outside for a cigarette where his tender embrace left me without a worry in the world. All evil quickly evaporated and I was left in a state of pure ecstasy. Incredible service average beer. 6 stars

Nice pub and grill. What sets these people apart is the quality friendly service. The waitress and owner. Hats off to them actually. They weren't bothersome as I was often caught in conversation with my dinner guest. The fare was nice, and the dessert was huge. It wasn't anything to write home about, but filled the gut. (I don't care for places that charge 20$ for a sandwich, skimp on the fries, charge 5$ for a pop, and leave you hungry when you're done paying. Even more annoying cause I ain't no big guy.)
Henry Hamilton — Google review
I always loved coming to Finley's.!! The food is amazing. However, i usually come in mornings and everything is great and staff is friendly. But i just came yesterday and today to grab a coffee(during evening) and the first day i was charged double for the coffee then usual(around 16oz of coffee for $9)(Usually the bring a big cup or else they charge me same amount for 2 small cups). When i told the server that j come almost every day for the coffee she just simply told me that there is not much options in the system and she will be charging me twice for that coffee(should have asked the size then). Also, today just few minutes back i just finished my coffee and the server comes and asked me if he can bring the cheque. I can understand when it's busy you need to clear the table quick to make room for others, however the entire restaurant was empty but it seems i was still made to leave. I loved the food and coffee but i would now not prefer to visit here anymore.!! Felt disrespected and seems staff don't even cared about it.

Great service as always. I ordered the artichoke spinach dip...and it was a cold dip with some shredded cheese on top...it would be nice to know they don't serve the traditional warm dip before hand..maybe say so on the menu. Otherwise always excellent food and service.

If your looking for poutine they have a variety and it's so good. This is a hidden gem of a place. It has lots of seating on the porch and open areas. It has lots of tvs for sports.

Well, Finley's is a great place to drop in for a drink and good food. I particularly like their breakfast with coffee...too early for a beer. They have special entertainment nights and other gatherings during major sporting events. Lots of fun!
Bryan Reid — Google review
Service and food was great but cocktails were lacking. I ordered a Moscow mule and it came in a glass (oh well) but it was also red because there was so much bitters. The server was very nice and got me a margarita instead, but it came with table salt not rock salt and there was SO much bar lime it was flubber green. I didn't want to send back another drink so I drank it and just ordered a beer after. Beer was good lol. Overall, we love the food, service, vibe here!
Autumnholly Thorne — Google review
We had a nice lunch at Finley's on our last day in the area. The food and menu was good, but the beer choices were lacking in comparison to other Nelson spots. The bar looks in the daytime like it would be better as a music venue at night or a place to watch a hockey game. A little rough.
Ken Hoekema — Google review
Very rude and they don't want your business. We have had the food here a couple of times, it's plain and simple. The service has totally gone down hill. Was in a couple weeks ago and there were 2 other tables that's it. The bartender dropped 2 menus off as soon as we sat down, there was a waitress on, we waited 5 min. The waitress was busy doing who knows. After 5 min the bartender with the accent walked by again and said " hasn't she served you yet"? We said no, we haven't been a knowledged yet and he walked away again. As he walked away he said "if you don't like the service leave". We left and will not go back again!!
Kat M — Google review
Had to give them 1 star cos there was no option for 0 star Had a bad experience at Finley’s on Saturday night. Guy on the bar doesn’t know to serve people, doesn’t have any sense of how to talk to people. He lacks moral ethics and etiquette. Don’t ask for a tip if you don’t deserve it. He was so rude and aggressive, and he was begging for tip after showing us bad behaviour. That guy doesn’t deserve to work there, other staff was fine. He spoiled my night, everything was going good untl that stupid bar tender showed up. He should learn some manners. I would never prefer go there again and never recommend anyone to go there. STUPID BAR TENDER
Darsh Randhawa — Google review
Great sound system and food - Finley's has a lot of events planned, and daily specials. The patio greatly expands seating options, and the view of the lake is amazing. Tried the lettuce wrap appetizer and toffee pudding during and evening out and both were fantastic. Best toffee pudding I've had, moist, sweet, flavourful, side of formed ice cream.

Lorne and I and my family and a friend went for their first ever Sunday Brunch, it was delicious. $16.95 all you can eat. Eggs Benny, bacon, sausage, roasted small red potatoes, pancakes, scrambled eggs, omelet made just for you and fruit salad. Tried to make toast but apparently we blew a fuse. I’m sure I forgot something but it was really good. Highly recommend it.

Backroads Brewing Company is a cozy microbrewery and taproom located in the heart of Nelson. Situated on the main strip of the city, it offers a great downtown atmosphere with a large sidewalk patio. The brewery serves excellent beers, including favorites like the Saison and Porter. In addition to their awesome brews, they also offer delicious food options such as locally sourced sausages and house-baked pretzels.
Great, downtown, casual, friendly bar with excellent beers. Such a joy to go to a pub which doesn't have big TV screens all round the room and that has bar rather than table service. This is the kind of pub that is just as comfortable to go for a pint on your own as it is with friends. Please don't change! Will be back any time I am in Nelson. Cheers!

This brewery and taproom is well situated on the main strip of the city. There are bites and food offerings - the pretzels are baked in house and the sausage is sourced locally. Most importantly the beers are awesome. Our favorites included the Saison and Porter. The staff are exceptional and there's a glowing vibe day and night. Don't miss this place when you're in town.

What a great Atmosphere and amazing food. The brisket tacos are fabulous and you need to try the Habanero how sauce. It's very good. We even bought a bottle. Only gripe is that they were short staffed and it took a bit for beer and drink orders. It wouldn't stop me from going again. It was worth the wait.

Started off as a great experience…bartender poured us some tasters, then a pint around 9:30. They mentioned last call was soon, but no big deal. We were having a great time, until 9:55 when the bartender came out and told us “we are closing and you must finish your drinks”. He did not specify a time or duration, so we carried on chatting and sipping our drinks. At 10:20, he came by again and said “we closed 20 minutes ago and I poured your drinks 50 minutes ago.” At this point, even though they advertised being open until 11:00 PM, we were kicked out before 10:30 PM and could not finish our drinks.
