Mysterious Sites
A beautiful, iron-rich landscape of shale bedrock can be seen from marked trails in the Cheltenham Badlands park northeast of Toronto. Due to overuse by the public in the 1900s, a fence now protects the rock formations from damage and makes access limited to those who are authorized. Conservation efforts are underway to make this site available to the public once again.
Fascinating views of the trees and the changing colors combined with the unique topography of the badlands and the opportunity to understand its history made for a wonderful outing. The trails are a little long and are of medium difficulty especially with kids and not stroller friendly but the views are completely worth it. I recommend going in the first 2 weekends of October for the best views and please book in advance as it's quite busy and parking is limited.

I must admit I came expecting a more dramatic view and scenery. While it is gorgeous and helps that it is attached to the lovely and lengthy Bruce Trail, it is not a lengthy time spend at the badlands. Prepare for about 30-60 minutes to get good shots and walk a bit around the nearby trail starting points. If you are doing the Bruce trail from this entry point, then you need more time. Parking is 25 + tax and must be booked ahead of time for particular time slots. Worth a visit but possibly only once

We were heading back to Georgian Bay (surprise surprise) from Toronto and decided to check out the Badlands. The hike was short, and the Badlands weren't all that exciting, but we enjoyed ourselves. There is lots of interesting information on the plaques there. By booking parking in advance you can save about 1/3 of the price, but since you can't book same-day we didn't. The parking pass is also good at two other Credit Valley Conservation areas, so I recommend making a day of it.

Nice to see. Book your parking ticket ahead of time - same day is not possible. They might squeeze you in the lot if there are spots available. - we got in our friends didn't. Parking fee is a li'l on the high side. But you get entry to two more parks with the same ticket. It was very busy. Not allowed to walk on the rocks. All fenced in. I'm happy we made and I got to see it. If you are close it's a nice short walk to an interesting view of the Badlands. Dogs are allowed with in the park (leash only). Stuff was very friendly.

beautiful grounds and the boardwalk is pretty new and clean. fair warning that it’s a short hike & not worth the amount of money on weekends especially if the side trail isn’t open/too wet. it’s $20 on weekends and $10 on weekdays. you have to prebook a time slot online before going and check in with an attendant after you park to get your parking pass. security is there on weekends. no drone zone on the board walk. portapotties only no real bathrooms.
laura — Google review
Nice place for visiting a phenomenon. It has two parking lot they are small so you should reserve in advance. Nice and easy to moderate walking. The way was well maintained. Washrooms are portable and not really clean. You probably will have a 1and half hour walking in total, it’s not a big trail. Don’t bring the stroller if you are with kids. Pretty easy walk for toddlers. Enjoy.
Setareh Gharaei — Google review
Two easy hikes one through Seniter Bruce and the through the badlands which will take approx. an hour to visit and enjoy both hikes. I’d recommend you to make an online reservation to save $5 on entry per vehicle and check weather before you visit. The staff was very friendly and helpful. Charge is per vehicle and not per person. You get 90 minutes to enjoy the site. Along with this purchase you get entry pass to the other two reservation sites. Porta potties available near the checkin counter.

Nice park with an unique piece of landscape. Short walk (5 min) from the parking lot. Remember to book in advance (not the same day) on weekends. Can be seen from the road but very nice to experience it from the platform at the end of the path. Bruce Trail crosses the park so we took a short hike here as well. Highly recommended!
Tomas Kulle — Google review
Paid 20 dollars plus tax for a five minute of viewing. The same view can be seen when you drive your car besides the badlands. I honestly don’t know why they charge this amount. I feel it’s a loot. The trail was closed and the guy at the ticket counter mentioned that some areas are still uneven. I have no idea if the trail is worth it. But parking charges are ludicrous. I honestly did not like it and will not recommend this place.
Ashwee D — Google review
Nice area just few minutes north of Brampton. Parking on site reservation $10 is necessary, toilets available and snacks too, this pass will allow you to go to Terracotta park as well. Little 10 minutes hike if you decide to walk, you can bring your 🐕 on a leash to enjoy the hike. The bruce trail passes by this area. There is a deck area where you can read and understand the rock formation. This place is also accessible from a second entrance no need to do the hike.
RICO — Google review
Worth maybe $5, not $20 on weekend. What your see is the small spot of red badlands. It is not very big, and you can't enter it (which is obvious and understandable), just observe it from the deck. And that's basically it! Other than that there's only pretty ordinary trail: you walk 15 minutes, you see a fence, you walk 15 minutes back. Can't recommend tbh, better don't visit it to conserve the badlands haha
????????? ????????? — Google review
If you are making a trip to the Badlands, you won't need more than an hour to see the badlands and do the trail. The badlands themselves are interesting, but small. I understand the boardwalk is to preserve the site, but it really does take away from the experience to have to see if from the boardwalk. Make the trip on a weekday if possible, bc you pay $20 instead of $10 if you go on Friday-Sunday. You MUST make a reservation before you go. I don't know if I need to see this again.
Maria G — Google review
A hidden gem in Ontario! The Badlands is a breathtaking and unique ecosystem, the only one of its kind in the province. I managed to secure parking on the same day, defying the rumors, when I visited in late October. The 2-hour time limit and nominal fee were reasonable, considering the short but enchanting walk through this picturesque landscape. The fall colors added an extra layer of beauty to the experience. A must-visit destination for nature enthusiasts!
Katie Jackson — Google review
Went on a fall weekend with a reserved booking and it was busy. It takes about 10 minutes from the parking lot to the badlands and trails are well maintained in between. Badlands are well preserved and it's worth visiting in the fall with a colorful backdrop around. You will get to read signs and learn a lot of history about this geological formation. There's not much to see or do once you visit badlands so pair it with hiking to nearby conservation areas to make the trip worthwhile.
VJ VEL — Google review
It’s a lovely place along a gorgeous road. Only downside is that we need to pay 17$ parking for the car. This includes car parking at site and access to Terracotta condensation Area and island lake conservation area. It’s a rare phenomenon which caused this and it does look very pretty even though it’s a very small area. Also we can’t go on the rocks. Boardwalk is the only way to look these closely. You can spend maximum 30 minutes here so make sure to have other things planned for the day.
Aditi M — Google review
Cheltenham Badlands is a very senic park. The trail to the badlands has no challenges, yet it's not accessible for those in wheelchairs or with strollers. You can access the observation area via the street, but with no sidewalk, it's not so safe. The trail to the observation deck is fairly short. The badlands area is protected via fence to prevent damage, but it's a great view regardless.
Simone Ramgeet — Google review
Good to check out if you’re in the area. It will take you no more than 15-20 mins total. If you have young kids/stroller it’s better to go via the boardwalk platform. Entry cost: same day $17/car (includes parking & tickets) or book in advance online to save $5.
H. K. — Google review
I am very glad this park/trial requires booking because it was much more enjoyable without too many people. Staff are friendly and helpful, and the trail is easy for all ages. You only need about 30-45 minutes, check-in, walk the trail, view the badlands from the viewing platform, and walk back to the main parking lot. Its pretty interesting to see the Queenston Shale and learn about how it was created.

The Alton Mill Arts Centre in Alton, Ontario is a must-visit for history and art enthusiasts. Housed in a beautifully restored 1880s stone mill, this art gallery showcases a diverse range of artwork both indoors and outdoors amidst the surrounding trees. Located at 1402 Queen St. West, the center offers studio space and galleries for talented artists to exhibit their work.
Beautiful venue with artist studios, lovely Noodle Gallery with art and handmade gifts, heritage museum and even a blacksmith on-site! Alton Mills holds events like art and music shows, weddings, parties and more. This is a must see if you're in the area!

First time here, and we really enjoyed our visit. We got to walk about the mill and look at cool pieces of art and history. We spoke with some of the artists that were there and even bought a painting and a few little items to take home with us. We got to step into the blacksmith and see what was going on in there. Very cool. Beautiful place to hold a wedding or event.

I arrived an hour before closing and it was a wonderful hour of walking around in a peaceful warm environment. The artisans exhibiting throughout were fabulous and so diverse. The live music was a great surprise. I will be returning for a spectacular piece of art soon.

Wow. If you are into history or art or both. This is a great place for you. A historical building that once used the power of the creek running along the side of the building to produce both linen and rubber products at different times. Now offers studio space and galleries for numerous talented artist's. Besure to check out the turbine room to see how this mill was once powered. The also have great events space if that's what you are looking for.

What a great venue for live music! Saw the Trews doing a 3 peice Accoustic performance. Sound was awesome. Very civilized. I would definitely attend live performances here again. Catering was provided as well.

Fascinating historical retail location. The grounds are park-like, & the various ships offer unique art, jewelry, clothing & gifts. There's a snack bar to grab refreshments. Oh! And a wedding was taking place the day I visited. Beautiful setting for ceremony & reception.
Diamondgirl Kat — Google review
I have shot a couple weddings at the Alton Mill now and always recommend it to couples looking to host their wedding at a unique and absolutely beautiful venue. This place just ticks so many boxes. The history and charm of the building is amazing. Tons of different backdrops for photos both inside and outside. Can't wait to capture more ceremonies at the Mill!

What an amazing spot for a wedding or event! The grounds are stunning and you get use of the entire site for your day. The parking is excellent, there are beautiful views with a perfect spot for the service, the dinner and dancing. I highly recommend it.

Wooded country park with events & visitor centers, known for winter sports, birdwatching & picnics.
Very picturesque landscape with equally matched trails, ideal for running. Roadways with footpaths & trails of varying distance to choose from. Quiet, somewhat desolate and peaceful with the lake & streams. Abundance of free parking, although access to roadways in the conservation area closed for the season, as well as the amenities. Be prepared to enjoy the rustic nature and scaled back amenities.

We love almost everything here.. except the bugs. There were a few trails to choose from and the info map is very clear. We went 2 days after the rain and the bugs were aggressive!! We had deep wood bug spray on, and we still got a lot of bites. There's a $7 per person entrance fee to this area as of Aug 2023. But it's all worth it!!

It is a great place to visit year around. Impromptu drive up and walk through one of their shorter trails. They have picnic areas along the trails and even during the winter season the park is open. Dog friendly space granted you have control over your fur-family. This evening, the event was called Ignite, where portions of one of their trails were lit up. They do have a washroom facility, smelled good, and clean during our visit today. Small shop to buy some snacks, etc...

Went on a weekend for sugar shack festival. Plenty of parking and not crowded. Good experience for the kids. Tour is very short though but fun. Food are priced fair and big servings. Loved the pulled pork.

🌞🌥It was a good peaceful place to spend with close family- friends on a good holiday being a Canada day!!! We had gone to this conservatory area for a picnic and it was wonderful regardless the heat .... !! 🌳🍀🍂 Very clean and they charge a nominal entry fee. Would visit another time soon, probably in the fall season!! 🍁🍂🍃

Beautiful place to experience fall colours. Since it is located in an offbeat place, it is not too crowded as well like other mainstream parks. This place has some beautiful trails where we can get to see good fall foliage along the routes. Also, they have built chairs at periodic intervals so one can actually sit and relax while having a good view of the foliage over the lake.

We visited Maple syrup in the park festival and learned a lot about traditional and modern methods of making maple syrup. There is a Pancake House if you feel hungry. There are public washrooms and enough parking space. A lot of trails and a good place for kids as well.

My first experience at Terra Cotta Conservation. I took my children to the Maple Syrup Fest. It was a great time. We got to visit all the exhibits except the pancake house. The staff were all very friendly and knowledgeable. I look forward to returning where I am able to experience other activities.

It's a great wilderness area. There are designated areas for picnic and play. They have quite a lot of parking areas. Admission is reasonable, $7.0 per adult. By the way, parking is free, washroom use is free and hygienic is pretty good. Enjoy summer.

The trails were wide. It was fun to walk through the forest. The ticket was included with bellfountain and Cheltenham badlands. The bike trails were available. But the views would look better in falls.

It was a wet windy day when we decided to have our lunch at The Terracotta Conservation Area and though we found an open shed with loads of tables, we really could not spend much time due to wind chill! The kids had fun discovering an apple tree and trying their level best to pluck them! Wish they sold coffee too!
Neerja Tiwari — Google review
Oh, this place is a beauty. I like it for not being crowded firstly. The lady at the front gate on 16th September 2023 at around 2pm was amazing. She explained everything in detail. Entrance fee is $7 per person. Several trails depending on your choices. Picnic tables available. Small lake/pond inside. Very relaxing. They have an arena kinda thing inside. Little shop inside selling drinks, maple syrups, hiking gears etc. Washrooms are well maintained. For officials- I saw a mismatch of station number and the map on Terra Cotta lane at station 7/11.

Perfect for a day of outing, with friends, family or with and for kids A must visit to learn about how maple syrup was made many many years ago and how it's made in the modern age. Pan cakes were beyond awesome Would recommend people of all age groups to visit and stroll around the area.

We had an amazing time at rhe maple syrup festival. Highly reccomend it this event and you must try the pancakes. The weather was great so we got to walk the trails as well.

Nice park with good accessibility. Many trails around the lake of different intensity. I like the area around the wetland. Be careful of insects and mosquitoes though. Better to use repellent spray on your clothes to deter mosquitoes. Fall is the right time to visit the park but try to avoid the patch when it rained in the previous 4 or 5 days, since the trails can become muddy and not enjoyable.

Beautiful place, have to pay to enter. Has different trail with different intensity. We love this place. Got to see some beautiful fall colors too. Has picnic area, so you can pack food too.

In the winter, visitors can enjoy tubing and sliding, while spring brings opportunities to partake in outdoor activities. During summer months, the park is an excellent place for picnics and water-based activities. Fall at Chinguacousy provides stunning displays of changing colours to admire.
Really very nice park to visit in core Brampton. Very big park where u see animals and horses. You can even ride electric scooter which is paid but worth to give a shoot. In winter they also have snow tubing and skies. There also a play ground for skating.

Love to go there everyday on summers even someyimes in winter for a walk. City added perfect new rides last year for the kids. Splash for kids in summers. Great spot for picnic in summers and for out door kids parties. Tube slides in winters are icing on the cake! Fireworks on some of the static holidays.

Highly recommend going in for skiing and tube snow slide experience. Tried this fun activity for the first time. Amazing experience!! Staff was friendly and quick. Short waiting and well organized. Awesome environment. There is a café on site where you can buy hot chocolate and some snacks, with both indoor and outdoor seating options, so that's a nice option to warm up if it's especially cold out. Free marshmallow and hot chocolate during Family day. Staff is super friendly and experienced!

Great park with lots to do with kids. Good amount of picnic tables. A little pricey for carousel train and petting zoo but seeing as everything else is free I can understand the price point. $40 for 8 tickets. Both train and carousel take 1 ticket each ride. Ice cream truck sell $6.50 and up for most things. We brought some snacks and drinks from home so highly recommend this to save some money from concessions. Overall kids happy and willdefinitely be back

It's a magnificent park and so lively in summers. It has a splash pad and various rides for kids. Carousal, train and gives all picnic feel .Very well connected to public transport and it's a go to place for all ages. There is a small pond where I have also seen people boating. Overall it's a good place where you can have a good one day picnic and on weekends you will also find ice cream trucks. Washrooms are a bit unclean , rest all things I found good .

Very beautiful, very tranquil, nice play area and splash pad for the kids. Beautiful lawn for picnic, seating area. A duck pond and beautiful garden. One of my favorite parks to visit. Absolutely love it! Wedding chapel and petting zoo.

I would love to give a 3.9 rating to the park. It is a nice place to hang out with family and friends. The best part is that it is spacious so one can have a picnic with family and friends, for children there are distractions like swings, fountains and little zip lining. For winters they have a small area for skiing. A place to enjoy peace and nature time to time.

A large and very beautiful park great for having a picnic and parties with family and friends. Play areas are great for kids of all ages. It also has a splash pad and a train ride for kids. The trail is also very beautiful perfect for a walk or cycling. Kids can enjoy riding bikes or scooties on the trails as well. It also has a nice pond and some benches nearby to sit and enjoy the beautiful views. Entry and parking is free and has ample parking space. Overall it is a great place to spend a day in the outdoor with your friends and family.
Imran Shahid — Google review
I visited here last weekend with my daughters and their mother. We all had an amazing time. There is so much to do! A really nice park for the kids to play on, a small park for the little ones and a zipline! A fairly good sized splash pad for when it gets hot out and you want to cool down. You can go paddle boating on the pond for $10 for half an hour or play some mini golf for $2 a person! There's a wading pool as well and a greenhouse to look at some plants. There is also small petting zoo and pony rides as well and a Mary Go Round but the tickets are a little too expensive... $40 for 8 tickets. Not worth the 2 minute ride. You can also visit here in the winter to go skating and tubing down the massive hill on the property as well! They do sell food at a very reasonable price if you get hungry! Overall this place is amazing for friends and families to visit for a couple of hours or for a day for a picnic and just to get together and make some memories!

There is sufficient free parking space but you may face issue during peak time. The place is fully accessible so everyone in the family can join.

Beautiful park and so much to do especially for kids! Even for a stroll it's simply lovely. $6.00 for 6-8 mins of train ride which is decent but they did charge for a year old as well. Ample space for picnics and seems like they have so much more to offer even in winter. Definitely going to visit again and again!
Stefs T — Google review
It's an all in one park. They have a zip line for kids, big slides with built-in rope climbers, swings, splash pad, petting zoo, carousel, picnics, and barbecue areas. Older kids can even rent electric scooters available there. For the carousel, you need to purchase tickets. There is a shop serving drinks, chips, fries, pizza slices, and other snacks for kids. However, on the weekend when the crowd is more, they're usually sold out on the pizza slices :( It's a complete entertainer for kids while parents can relax keeping a watch!
Munazzah M — Google review
Beautiful park!! Lots of activities for all ages. Weather you are looking to enjoy brisk walking in summers or want to do snow tubing. Weather you have kids that you want to bring outdoors to make new friends or you are open to make some new friends yourself, its very lively place! Such childhood energy around the park that you can’t have enough. Beautiful sunset by the pond, or just enjoying trails. Looking for some time with nature or spending some time with your thoughts, you find all in here. Update:- Visited the park again and discovered yet new treasures of nature at this park! Park had wedding Chapel, Green house, pony ride, tropical garden! Will definitely go again :)

Spirit Tree Estate Cidery is an apple orchard in Caledon where visitors can pick their own fruit. The estate also features a cider house offering tours, a charming restaurant, and bakery. It's a popular spot among locals and tourists alike, known for its picturesque setting and delicious offerings. With its scenic orchards and delectable ciders, it's a must-visit destination for those exploring the Caledon area.
Spirit Tree Cidery and shop transports you to a quaint little farm-town whilst being in the city. The shop is beautiful with rustic vibes, featuring a variety of fresh breads, juices, cheeses and baked goods. My family and I dropped in for some takeout and chose to buy their pizza. Each slice is $6 but is large enough to feed 1-2 people. The cheese pizza is delicious with a generous topping of cheese and is baked to perfection. The ciders are definitely unique and refreshing on a hot summer day. I also picked up an Apple and Thai Chili sauce which I thought was nothing special but I am glad that I tried it. We’ve already been back to Spirit Tree with friends and can’t wait to go again!

First time experience here was great. Perfect on a sunny day early fall, might be even better during summer. We enjoyed their canned cider beer and their gourmet pizzas. We were thinking of getting a flight of cider wine but found it a bit too pricey for the amount they give you. You're better off getting cans although you might be missing out on cider wine. They've got outdoor seating both under the sun and covered (tent). Apple picking is also available, refer to pics for pricing.

I was told the restaurant part had closed down due to Covid-19, however the store remains open which includes a pizza oven. STEC has a limited menu that contains mostly pizza but they do have other select items. The atmosphere is serene and peaceful while the staff are wonderful, helpful and friendly. Although there is no restaurant seating they do have picnic benches and canopies outdoors. I thought the pizza was pretty good however I also got seasoned fries which were soggy and just weren't good. The store is filled with various foods and drinks. They also offer cider on tap. I'm hoping the restaurant will reopen. If you are out and about in the Caledon area I recommend dropping by Spirit Tree Estate Cidery.

Really nice place well worth a visit. We went here after a small hike in Cheltenham Badlands in the autumn. Tasted some cider and then ordered pizza that we ate outside. All good! Got some cider to go as well. Nice staff and free parking just outside.

I absolutely love the Apple cider! Stumbled upon this cidery during a weekend drive a few weeks ago and we’ve been back a few times since. Enjoy some wood oven pizza on their picnic tables or check out the full menu. I had the seasonal soup on our last visit & it was out of this world. Highly recommend. Cider tastings starting as low as $8!

The dining room was closed. I sat outside on a picnic bench and enjoyed my lunch. It was a bit windy and the plastic cups kept falling, I lost quite a bit of my cider. It would have been nice to have glass or just better cups in general. I ordered the muscles, I wouldn’t order them again. Not much flavour. The cider itself was good - I would suggest getting a flight. The staff was very knowledgeable about the cider and flavour profiles. The property is large and beautiful but you can’t roam the grounds. Glad I went, probably won’t go again.

The Spirit Tree Estate Cidery is the perfect place to enjoy a nice glass of apple cider and pizza, in a disconnected setting from urbanized areas. This is one of the finest cideries in all of Canada. Serving up different variations and flavours of apple cider, with every one of them being unique and tasty. For food options, within the main building is a market where they sell pastries, baked goods, their ciders and other snacks. If you are looking to stop by the cidery for lunch, their menu is very limited, they serve wood oven pizzas, fries and a daily soup. Although the menu is condensed, they clearly go for quality over quantity, each pizza is baked and topped to perfection. Spirit Tree’s atmosphere is similar to having a picnic at a park, the only seating options are outdoors, leaving you with countless views of the estate and the apple blossoms. I would highly recommend stopping by the Spirite Tree Cidery for a day to escape the city and absorb natures beauty.

Went here with my girlfriend for a fun date. we did the tour which was nice and it gave a good history for the estate and how it works. The ciders they make are very good. The area outside to hang out and drink is nice too but could maybe use more picnic tables and shaded areas (umbrellas for more of the tables would be great) They also have a little food marketplace inside the building where they sell locally grown produce and other locally made foods/ baked treats, but it's on the pricey side. The woodoven pizza is also very good, very high quality but also on the pricey side. They have live music on the weekends too which was great. Highly recommend this as it's a great place for a date, just be prepared to spend some money.

Stopped by this cidery because we're avid cider fans and we left with mixed feelings. The staff at the tents were friendly, helpful, and charming. The outdoor tent and picnic area is a nice touch and we visited when a solo musician was performing music outdoors. Overall a lovely experience. The only downside was the food and cider. The main food item was pizza and they are OK. We tried flights of ciders and wines and liked 2 of the 10 drinks. The fries were well seasoned and the apple ketchup was delicious. We ended up buying our favourite drink from the shop before leaving. Great place overall to try fun drinks!

One of the best date night or girls day out spots in town. Food is amazing and the chef's and servers are all so kind and great to talk to! Will always come back again and again when we are in the area. They also have great local vendors/products inside, if you're looking to try something new ask them! They give out great recommendations.

2023 July 4★ Great local food at decent prices. This store, eatery and bar offers a variety of local and it's own products. Specializing in apple cider, they offer sparkling (wine bottle), dry hopped (orange), draught cider (green), cranberry (red) and pear (yellow). Best (also the sweetest) is the draught - the green can. Though you can buy a mix to try. Wood Oven Pizza - Spirit Tree Tomato sauce base, pesto, roasted tomatoes, roasted chicken, garlic, mozzarella and goat cheese. Small-$17 (11" round, 4 slices) Large-$25 (16" round, 8 slices) Replaced the goat cheese with Boccioni. Amazing. Seating primarily at the bar and two tables just near the front entrance. Seating is primarily on the field where you can spend the evening sitting outside with entertainment on beautiful weekends.

Glad they got some seating inside by the bar! Very cool place just came here for the seasonal options on the cider board & the pizza. Very creative flavours & taste & it was good! Would definitely come back in the summer but good place for a bite after fall activities or picking their apples.

Really fun experience at the Spirit Tree Estate Cidery; plenty of ciders to choose from, as well as freshly made bread, pastries, jams and sauces, meats, etc. There's some area to sit inside to try their various ciders (individually, flight of 3 or 5); plus plenty of patio space outdoors. You can get some pretty fantastic thin crust wood oven pizza (small or large, various topics) that you can have along your tasting or simply as a side. Would highly recommend and come back; staff was also friendly and knowledgeable about the ciders.

Experience the ultimate in relaxation and pleasure at Headwaters Restaurant, nestled within the historic Millcroft Inn & Spa. This renowned dining establishment offers breathtaking views of Shaws Creek Falls and Mill Pond, creating a picturesque setting for an unforgettable culinary experience. Indulge in delectable dishes crafted from sustainable ingredients sourced locally from the Headwaters region. Immerse yourself in a gastronomic journey that combines fresh flavors with an ambiance steeped in history.
Our experience at the Millcroft Spa was amazing! All thanks to our amazing server at the Headwaters Restaurant - Lisa! This was our best experience ever by any server we have ever had in our entire lives. From when we were first introduced to her, to the moment we left, we had an amazing experience. She is the reason we would come to the Millcroft Inn. She went above and beyond to make our experience memorable. Lisa gave us special treatment throughout and made sure we were accommodated throughout the whole time we were there. She checked in regarding every question we had, and all of our special asks. She was also able to get us the amazing chocolate mousse through her requests to the dessert chef. We had a voucher we were redeeming and from the moment we entered the establishment we made it known we would be using it to use towards our bill. Lisa made sure of this before we placed our orders, checking in with multiple people (including Debra - the supervisor from that night who approved our requests on Nov 25th, 2021). Lisa was also so kind that she surprised us with the "Girls Trip" message on our dessert plates. If you go to the Headwaters restaurant, make sure you ask to be served by Lisa. You will enjoy not only the quality desserts but also the amazing service throughout from Lisa. We would also like to point out the amazing service from the reception at the Millcroft Inn & Spa. Katerina, was able to sort out and communicate with us when we had a misunderstanding with our voucher and what was communicated to us the night prior by the supervisor at the Headwaters Restaurant (through Debra). She was patient, understanding, and very supportive throughout our checkout process. The Millcroft Inn is lucky to have Lisa & Katerina working at their Inn. Thank you for the amazing service, and the relaxing stay both! :)

Service was excellent, ambiance was nice and romantic. We got breakfast and also dinner during a stay at the inn. Prices were certainly on the higher side. Breakfast for eggs Benedict was good, but at $28 each seems like quite a bit for what you get. For dinner, we got the steak and the lamb. Both were cooked very well, and the lamb was delicious with all its sides. The steak was tender, and the mushrooms alongside the sauces complimented the steak well, but the risotto was quite salty. Not pictured is the bread that they served - soft and warm, a great start to the meal. We also got dessert, and the chocolate mousse with the biscotti was rich and creamy, albeit a little sweet, but complimented the biscotti well. The special tart looked beautiful, but I found the bacon jam a little odd in terms of combination with everything else in the tart. As an experience, it was enjoyable but left something to be desired. If you’re staying at the spa and want a nice meal, it can be a nice experience but just expect to pay a pretty penny.

Very disappointed in our experience. We were seated at a solo table next to the falls, which was nice and romantic. Our initial impression was positive, our drinks and bread were brought to the table & order placed promptly. The view and ambience was very nice; welcoming, relaxed, and serene. Then it all fell apart, we were basically forgotten for the rest of the night. It was almost an hour wait for two “AAA” burgers, that we had to find a server to ask about. When the food finally came, we had both finished our drinks, neither the server nor who appeared to be a manager offered a refill or another drink. Our waitress finally came to our table after the food came, she barely got to the table to ask if the food was okay. But not enough time has passed to actually try anything as we were still waiting on condiments. She too didn’t address the drinks, not that she was there long enough to notice. I had a clear view of the entire patio and could see our waitress tending to the other tables regularly and often. I tried several times to flag her down, I could see her looking directly at me, but she never acknowledged or came back to our table. Instead she tended to a closer table then ducked back inside. The food was equally disappointing, bland is the best description. The side Caesar was loaded with Parmesan, which was the only source of flavour, the dressing was bleh. The “AAA” burgers were absolutely flavourless, like they somehow managed to remove even the flavour of beef (which to be honest is quite impressive), not to mention they were barely warm. I can (and do) make better burgers at home! The only flavour was a glob of cheddar cheese. I finished mine because I was so hungry, but my finance barely touched hers. Then there was the grilled shrimp, which were the only flavourful item we got, but the flavour was more of a clam chowder. When we were done with our “experience” we waited awhile longer to see if our waitress would come back & even tried flagging her down again. When she didn’t return we had to seek out the manager again, who apologized but didn’t offer or make any attempt to make the experience better. Overall, we would have been better off eating off the property at some fast food joint.

They don’t have any good food instead of crazy expensive price. I ordered lamb and I thought it is lamb chops with vegetables but I received the plate look like pince cut in half in middle of plate with foam at the top which makes it more disgusting and purple potatoes around the pince look like the rocks. My daughters had pasta which it wasn’t pasta it was uncooked lazania loose in the plate my other daughter ordered steak and she wanted medium cooked which she received burned meat with cooked potatoes still no vegetables in any dish. Dessert was very small portion but was delicious. Person who served us was very nice music was good and atmosphere was lovely but I don’t think I go back because they don’t have any food for me

Enjoyed dinner and breakfast as part of our stay package at the spa. Dinner was fantastic and the deserts were exceptional, especially the creme brulee. The view of the falls was wonderful as we ate breakfast.

Being advertised as a fine dining restaurant, we weren't really sure what to think of Headwaters Restaurant. The prices on their menu certainly seemed upscale enough, but we weren't able to justify paying for an overpriced dinner after reading many of the consistently negative online reviews. We did end up going for breakfast on one morning, and a nightcap with dessert. While the food was okay, it was nothing to write home about, especially when the eggs benedict florentine cost $28 for two poached eggs on some raw baby spinach and a half dozen 'french fry' shaped hash browns. We also had some initial issues with service. The Inn's front desk had told us during check-in that breakfast seating was first come-first serve and the lounge was self-seating. There was no obvious differentiation or signage between the lounge and restaurant areas, so we sat ourselves at a free table after waiting five minutes by the entrance stand, confused due to a sign saying wait to be seated but with no host in sight. This led to us being flagrantly ignored by the waitstaff walking past our table for several more minutes until we asked for one of their attention. Later during our meal, another waitress shouted across the room towards two other diners that they needed to pay before leaving, apparently due to some confusion regarding their B&B package. While our own waitress was lovely and attentive, the general ambiance felt oppressively unwelcoming. The nightcap with dessert was a much better experience, though still a bit stifling, certainly not an atmosphere which encouraged guests to stay for any extended length of time. The desserts themselves were absolutely delicious, and something I would go back for. For guests staying at Millcroft Inn and Spa, Headwaters Restaurant is the most convenient option based only on location. Otherwise, ordering room service will basically add up to be the same with gratuity, or Alton has some very nice cafes and bistros within a ten minute walking distance.

Fantastic food! Highly recommend. Went here for the hotel and dinner package and it was a wonderful experience. Our 3-course meal was delicious and beautifully presented. Our servers were top-notch and attentive. The only thing I would change is if the booking system could be more integrated between the hotel and the restaurant! Even if you book a package your dinner reservation is not secured. We didn't know that until we arrived and had to book a time for dinner separately. Thankfully they had an opening that night but it ended up being quite a late dinner at 8:15. But all in all a great experience if you want to do a spa outing with hotel stay and dinner. Just remember to call the restaurant after you book!

Brought my mom for her 50th we had such a wonderful day and headwaters was our last stop. Meg was an amazing server she was so helpful in describing dishes as my mom is vegetarian. She even made my mom feel special. She was so kind and I have never had a server that polite and respectful. The food was phenomenal and I don't say that lightly. We had the veggie dishes and they had flavour which is hard to find. Meg even made us mock tails that were so delicious, she improvised and we just felt so special. Overall great experience mainly because of Meg.

Great cozy place with beautiful winter views. Good service, short waiting times. The chef has a very particular but interesting style. Prices are fair just a very romantic atmosphere all around, except for the background music. (To repetitive, to the point I noticed it).

Beautiful estate - we spent the day at the Spa and had dinner at Headwaters Restaurant. We didn’t know when making the reservations that we had to request a window seat - however, we were early enough for them to accommodate and found us a table next to a window. Our waitress Jackie was 10/10 - she was very attentive, polite, thoughtful and accommodating. She really went over the top to make sure our dinner amazing and that alone would make us want to come back. The menu is small, but has great variety (I.e. lamb, beef, fish, lobster and pasta). We wanted mussels from the lunch menu and she made it happen. The mussels were so fresh and the bread for the table was a great compliment to dip in the mussels sauce. Our mains were delicious, we had the Lamb (must have if you love lamb), Fazoletti Pasta and Pan Seared Chicken (from the Summerlicious menu). All very well plated and full of flavour. We ended our meal with the Summer Tasting Trio - which was perfect for sharing and full of different flavour that suited everyone tastebuds. Definitely have to try this dessert if you are here. I hope they don’t take this off the menu. Thank you to the chef and staff for a wonderful dinner and we’ll definitely be back!

Spirit Tree Estate Cidery, located on Boston Mills Road in Caledon, is a charming establishment known for its outdoor entertainment and picnic-style dining. The on-site restaurant offers delicious homemade bread, while the store provides an array of tasty treats. This hidden gem offers a delightful experience where patrons can savor mouthwatering dishes such as cheeseburgers, chicken schnitzel, pretzels, and sweet potato tacos.
This place is an absolute gem. If you’ve been here before, you know why. We ordered the cheeseburger and fries, chicken schnitzel, pretzel and sweet potato tacos. For drinks we ordered the Vienna lager, winter solstice, buckstown bock, bohemian Pilsner and mango seltzer. We asked for small cups so that we could do our own little tasting (they don’t have flights at the moment but apparently it’s coming soon). I can’t say enough good things about the food, drinks, service and atmosphere. We had a great experience and we look forward to coming back soon 💕

Loved this place! Ate here recently and ordered the burgers and the fries. Also got the flight of beers too. The burger was fresh and juicy, the toppings were a perfect touch to the burger. The friends were nice and hit and crispy, a lot of flavour coming from the eggs and kimchi. Would for sure be back to try other menu items!

This place is fabulous! My husband and I decided to have an impromptu lunch date and found ourselves at the Caledon Hills Brewing Company. Immediately upon entry, we were met with a warm smile and gentle instructions. After we ordered, the food came with very little wait. The food was amazing!!! I had the bison pot pie and my husband had th3 steak and cheese nachos. Both dishes were amazing!! We routinely rotated our plates to ensure we each ate a ton of each dish. Even so, we still had leftovers to bring home! We finished off with the hot maple cake to go and WOW what a way to end! So luscious and sweet. We're so pleased that we took an adventure to Caledon and we're so pleased that we got to experience this wonderful restaurant.

What an amazing place! The atmosphere was a lot of fun, the staff was top notch and the food was next level good. Add to that a ton of beverage selections, and we’re hooked. Wow....just wow. That's all I can say..I've been following this company for quite some time and I buy the beer at the grocery store. Today I actually made it down the restaurant and I am so glad I did. The food was absolutely amazing, the atmosphere made me feel like I was in a Hallmark Christmas movie. The location is spotless and what an ambiance. I haven't even finished my meal and I am already planning my next trip back. What an experience, I've been looking for a place like this for a long time. Thank you Caledon Hills!

A delicious brew pub off the main road in Palgrave. It's well known in the area and has a fantastic atmosphere all year round. Stepping into Caledon Hills Brewing felt like catching up with an old friend – warm, welcoming, and full of good vibes. The beers? Absolutely spot-on! Each sip showcased the craftsmanship and passion poured into every batch. And the burgers are just as impressive – juicy, flavorful, and downright satisfying. But the real surprise came after we'd settled our beer tabs – the Hot Maple Cake. It's the kind of sweet treat you don't expect to pair with a pint, but it does! The warmth and sweetness of the cake are a perfect match for the cool, crisp beer. It's a combo I'd urge you to try on your next visit. Caledon Hills Brewing isn't just about great beer; it's about the whole experience. Don't miss out on this gem – it's truly something special!

A very wonderful experience visiting Terra Cotta Inn for the first time. We were greeted by the manager, Colleen when we first walked in with a warm greeting. The server was very informative providing us with the specials of the day and was very helpful with picking a wine pairing. The chef, Roberto went above and beyond cooking us a delicious home cooked meal. Everything was very delicious and we were treated like regulars even though it was our first time visiting. Definitely won’t be the last time as the food, staff, and ambiance were all perfect. Thank you to the entire staff for their hospitality and can’t wait to be back. Highly recommend. We drove from out of town and the drive to the restaurant was an experience itself. Wish I could give it a higher rating as 5 stars does not do justice.

This was my first time visiting in the summer, I had been in the winter once. The scenery it’s just stunning , surrounded by trees , so peaceful and beautiful but the food … outstanding!. I had not had a meal this amazing in such a long time . I had the stuffed gnocchi… little pillows of heaven, they just melt in your mouth. Also their steak was incredible and grilled fish . We enjoyed every single bite. The service was outstanding, friendly, fast and efficient. We will definitely be back real soon.

The staff were very professional and friendly. They placed fresh made bread at our table while we waited for our food. We had the beef carpaccio as a starter, grilled chicken with sun-dried tomatoes, goat cheese, mashed potatoes and vegetables, as well as the burger with fries, and the in-house made tiramisu for dessert. The food, wine, beer, and specialty coffees were all delicious. Beautiful scenery surrounding the restaurant as well. We'll definitely be back.

Our group had dinner recently on the patio. The varied dishes served were outstanding! Preperation and presentation unrivaled. My compliments to the kitchen staff...well done. The prices are reasonable for the quality dishes served. The only reason I didn't rate it five stars, was the customer service quality was lacking throughout the last visit. The patio is very serene and welcoming.

Overall, I can confidently say that Terra Cotta Inn is a true ge.. I highly recommend it and look forward to returning soon for another exceptional meal.

This restaurant is an amazing date spot. It would definitely be helpful to make reservations as their tables availability can be hard if its walk-in. The vibes are truly different from what you find at other restaurants which we loved a lot. Definitely ask for their dessert menu, we got Tiramisu and it was the best Tiramisu we have ever had. Their pasta was good but their fish n chips were so-so. It’s worth getting once but I was not the biggest fan of their fish n chips. It was very crispy, almost hard to cut it. Would definitely try other things here for sure!

Our dining experience was a family affair to celebrate a birthday. From start to finish our service was excellent and the staff knowledgeable and friendly. The food choices were varied and amazing. We all had joyed our food choices but my mushroom starter was absolutely delicious.

Italian restaurant
Nestled in Bolton, Ontario, this charming Italian eatery offers a delightful setting for friends and family to savor delectable cuisine, fine wine, and engaging conversation. The ambiance exudes comfort and elegance, transporting patrons to an idyllic candlelit dinner in Europe. Although the restaurant's popularity poses challenges securing a reservation due to locals reserving it for private events and limited fine dining options in Bolton, the experience is well worth the effort.
Amazing dining experience. Food was amazing.

Visited Casamici restaurant and I ordered the steak and it was one of the BEST steaks I have ever had! If you look closer you will see beautiful to perfection roasted garlic with a Guinness Blonde as a side compliment. We were welcomed warmly when we entered and the service throughout our dinner was extraordinary. We celebrated a Birthday and the atmosphere in the restaurant was inviting and pleasant. The prices were very reasonable for such fine dining experience. Highly recommend for a first-class dining family experience.

Expensive place. The food is regular and normal. Nothing amazing. Better food and service in places without reservation.

We have been going here for years but I rated 4 stars because it’s difficult to get in here! A lot of locals book their private functions and Bolton doesn’t have a lot of Fine Dining options. Recently we went on a Saturday Night and we had top tier drinks and wine .. great .. we had an amazing Octopus appetizer .. Rabbit Special which was very good .. nice ambience and wonderful personal attention .

The food is absolutely disgusting. I was expecting this to be comparable to a Marcellos or Nove experience and it’s more like The Olive Garden. The entire place needs a makeover with its 90’s decor. For 2 people, with 1 glass of wine and shared app and 2 mains costs us over $240! Insane. Never ever again. Pretty sure we ordered the calamari, caprese salad, a steak that was $80 spices with Montreal steak spice and a penne a la vodka. I'm 150% on this experience and the location.

First indoor restaurant experience since pandemic. We couldn’t have picked a better place. We were greeted with smiles and felt completely welcome. The service was top notch. The food was amazing - from the appetizer, to the main, to the dessert and coffee. I highly recommend Casamici for its food, service and the ambiance. Who knew Bolton had this hidden gem?? Can’t wait to go again 😋

Having lunch at Casamici is always a treat for me! Today I spoiled myself to a colorful serving of Caprese salad appetizer followed by their freshly made spaghetti pasta with meat sauce. With their generous serving of breads dipped in balsamic and olive oil, it was pure heaven!! What a great way end the work week!!

What an awesome restaurant and so glad we found it through a recommendation. The food was delicious, the service was perfect and we loved the romantic atmosphere and decor. Definitely a perfect place for dinner and I'd highly recommend Casamici to family and friends looking for an Italian restaurant in Bolton area.

They should change their hours online. I got turned away at the door an hour before their closed time, because the kitchen was already closed. Maybe don’t advertise you’re open that late??

While it doesn't look like much from the outside, the interior is very well done with a cozy upscale feel. The menu choices are excellent with a good selection of non-pasta dishes. The food was excellent and priced well.
