Pho Triple 7 Restaurant is a delightful place with a clean and cozy atmosphere. It offers ample seating and serves delicious meals. What sets it apart from other pho restaurants is the cleanliness of its food. The flavors are authentic, yet not heavy or greasy like some other places. The prices are very reasonable for the quality and freshness of the homemade dishes. It's definitely worth visiting for lunch or dinner to explore their diverse menu options.
I've been eating at Pho Triple 777 for six years now and they never disappoint. The folks are always friendly. The food is always delicious!

The food was amazing! The No 1 pho (as seen in the attached photo) is absolutely worth every cent!
Richard Agetu — Google review
We enjoyed the Vermicelli bowl and the Curry Chicken, very tasty.
South Sea — Google review
I have tried Pho in many different places and this is absolutely the best. The broth and the meats are spot on and the generous portions of fresh vegetables make it the perfect noodle soup. The staff is also a delight. I could not be any happier with my experience here.
Kenneth Carpenter — Google review
Very good pho! It is operated by Vietnamese, I believe. The best pho I ever tried in Vancouver. If I live nearby, I will visit this restaurant every week. Hope that I will go to Vancouver island in near future. This restaurant is definitely the place I will re-visit.
Wes Can — Google review
We tried this place because it was new for all of us. The service was great and the was made quickly and served hot. We asked for more water for our tea plus an additional pot of hot water so we could top it up ourselves and this was provided. No complaints!
Helen Edley — Google review
This place was wonderful. It's a nice, clean little space with lots of seating. Tried it tonight with my boyfriend and was really content with our meal. I decided to write a review because I noticed something here that I dont always find in pho restaurants and I appreciate it, the food was very clean. The flavour is there, the notes are authentic, but it's not heavy or greasy which is a nice contrast to some of the overly glutinous restuarants or overly sauced dishes. The prices set are incredibly reasonable for the style of food, your getting good, fresh, housemade food. I will definitely be going back for lunch or dinner to try some other dishes, and recommending it to friends and family. This isnt somewhere I'd go for a fancy meal, but its somewhere I'd love to be a regular diner at.

Tasty food. Would recommend. C3 in picture. Pork pattie, lemon grass chicken and spring rolls with steam rice.

Once a year when I go to chemainus I eat here. Always the same staff and they have things done right. I really like this place.
Shane Lambert — Google review
Was passing through, and decided to try a drive through Chemainus! Because why not? I had the lunch special, and a salad roll. I struggle to give two stars to this place, all because of their crunchy rice. Rice shouldn't be crunchy. It just shouldn't. There's a difference between crisp. This was get crunchy and stuck in your teeth crunchy. The salad roll was tasty, but overly expensive for what it actually was. It's a pass from me dawg. Super friendly staff though.
Gee Ewing — Google review
Excellent and we'll balance Pho and appetizers with delicious dips. For the appetizers, I order the Spring Rolls and deep fried Wonton. The spring rolls were crunchy soft and delicious and the was simple and but complements the spring rolls. For the Fried Wonton, I used the spicy sauce for the Satay with I do recommend using it instead as a dip. I had the Pho Satay which had beef brisket and slices which melted in my mouth and was delicious all around. This is my second time coming to this place and it was still good the second time around.
Gio Soto — Google review
This is easily the best pho on the island. Every single item I have ordered has blown my mind with quality. Outstanding family owned business. It’s a must try!!!!

**update- we went back for the first time since 2020, when Covid hit. Food was still delicious...it's just sad that places are having such a hard time finding staff, because clearly they needed help. Keeping the 5 stars, because no fault of their own. And hey, they survived through the pandemic and probably appreciate all their loyal customers coming back. Check it out, you won't be disappointed. Hint: Very busy through dinner hour 5-6, so if you can eat a bit earlier or later, less of a wait time. They had lots of takeout orders at this time as well. Great food! Always fresh and delicious, never disappointed. I usually order the prawn bowl, which has 6 big prawns, spring roll, stir fried veggies on top of vermicelli noodles. Simply delicious! The server is polite and on the ball! My favorite place in Chemainus!

Cafe
The Owl's Nest Bakery and Bistro in Chemainus offers two seating options, one along the side of the establishment and another out front where you can enjoy the view of Willow Street. From the patio, you can even catch a glimpse of some of the Murals. This cafe provides a delightful experience with efficient and polite service. The food is delectable, with options such as the Bacon Avocado Benny (which can be customized without bacon) or the Holy Cowichan Bowl.
First time and would definitely go again. The Owl's Nest is a warm feels like home bistro, nestled in the heart of Chemainus. You'll feel relaxed and a little taken back, with the country like decor...(making me think back to when being at my Nana's house as a kid) A relaxing/chill vibe the moment you open the door. The aroma of fresh brewed coffee, the smells of home cooked bakery and other dishes, will have you wanting to return again and again.
Jason Dean — Google review
Great experience at this cafe. The service was prompt, polite, and efficient. The food was delicious I got the Bacon Avocado Benny with no bacon and my only complaint was there wasn't quite enough bread to sop up all the yolks and sauce. My husband got the Holy Cowichan Bowl and finished every bite. We shared the berry lemon scone it was delicious. The atmosphere is cute with, not surprisingly, lots of owl themed decor. Indoor and limited outdoor seating are available.
Amy — Google review
What a cute little cafe! They had a good amount of seating, clean bathrooms and kitschy decor. I had a pesto chicken sandwich. The food was delicious, a bit on the pricey side for what you get ( a bigger side salad would have been nice) but the quality was great. I didn't try any coffee drinks but maybe I will next visit.
Samantha Delayed — Google review
Perhaps the best lattes I have ever had, I got a lavender latte and rose latte and they were just so good. ❤️ Also had the chicken pesto sandwich and house salad and both were delicious. Would order again in a heartbeat.

Such a great spot for coffee, baked goods, breakfast and lunch. Reasonable prices, great ambiance and decor. Friendly service. Order at the counter and the staff will bring it to your table. Love the little tables in the alley alongside the cafe.

Very cute little local bistro with the sweetest audience, staff and yummy treats. Loved the stencil on my oat chai latte and their scones. Would definitively revisit on our next trip!

Quaint, quaint, quaint! Delicious food, fast, friendly service in a sweet little cafe setting. Had the traditional breakfast that was cooked to perfection. Friend had the Benny. Can’t wait to come back and try more menu items.
Samantha Chande — Google review
It’s fresh and delicious! I love their hollandaise sauce! It’s light, buttery and creamy. I ordered winter melon black tea, It’s different but good! I will come back to try other menu. Thanks for the great breakfast.

Lovely, unassuming place for lunch. Good selection to please a lot of palates with the addition of some Asian cuisine choices. Prices were quite reasonable and the fish we all had was nice and fresh.
James Curtis — Google review
Family-friendly, diner style atmosphere. We ordered the cod & chips, and the Hamburger combo. Homemade menu, and for those who have a peanut allergy, you can eat all the pie flavours except the banana cream pie. Super friendly staff and they were quick to bring out the food! Great menu selection as well.

A great family run local restaurant in Chemainus. While visiting my brother, my family came here for dinner one night. It was really busy, so there was a big of a wait for a table, but it was definitely worth the wait. They have an extensive menu with lots of different types of options, as well as daily specials. I had the halibut burger. I loved the dill mayo, and the halibut was perfectly breaded and fried. I had it with a side of onion rings. For dessert I had the peach pie. It was to die for. The crust gave me memories of my grandma. The service was very friendly. You could tell this place was a staple of the community with people coming in for take out orders or paying their bills and the staff knew all about them and their families. I look forward to eating here again when I visit.
Lisa Bristow — Google review
Don't need to cook, but quality is not deserve to charge this price. Paid for grill halibut and came out waterly steam style. Tasteless dinner. College style but friendly family business. We wanted to support the local business, so we have breakfast and dinner there. Is a convenient place because we live near by the community.
泰Maggi — Google review
Clearly this place is a favourite for regulars but seriously… if your an out of towner…. Keep looking for another spot to lunch. The waitress brought out the turkey clubhouse. I ordered the seafood clubhouse. She went to take it back then came back and said it was what I ordered. Um. No. I said fine, I’ll eat it. Whatever. Only to find it was the most anemic, sorry excuse for a clubhouse I’ve ever had. The entire sandwich had one tasteless piece of bacon, one slice of turkey and a tomato so unripe I ripped it out. This place is great if you like your food plain and without a scintilla of flavour. Ditto if you prefer your wait person surly and disagreeable.
Annette Moore — Google review
We enjoyed a lovely dinner here and were impressed with every aspect of our experience. The food was homemade and delicious( roast beef dinner and fish & chips), the service excellent in spite of the server being very busy, and the ambience warm and friendly. The highlight was our chat with the restaurant owner as we settled our bill - a wonderful example of someone passionate about what they do after a long career doing it! My grandson and I were almost too full for dessert but were really glad we gave into temptation for the apple crumble pie that was so delicious!
Donna Dixson — Google review
What amazing food had the Cod and chips this was some of the best I have ever had, followed up by an amazing coconut cream pie which was again the best I have ever eaten. I wish we had a place like this in Calgary.
Jason atkinson — Google review
Some serious nostalgia to a little diner my dad and I used to go to when I was a kid. It's warm and bright, the service was swift and cheerful. The food was simple but delicious and delightfully inexpensive. Parking with a large vehicle is a little difficult if you aren't super mobile however if you take the alley beside the restaurant there is some parking available behind instead of hunting for space on the streets nearby.
Mateo Kreuz (Kreuz) — Google review
The best War Wonton soup around. Loved it. Great homemade pie as well.
Richard Taylor — Google review
I absolutely love this place! as a local it's wonderful having a place to go you know will always be a great meal! butter chicken is the best I've ever had!
Amber Christie — Google review
A tried and true family style restaurant with a variety of items on the menu. We stopped there a few times and the restaurant was well attended with people who I can tell are regulars. The waiter knows people by name and it appears he works very hard. They had a good selection of pies. 🥧
South Sea — Google review
Simple, but yummy food, and a very warm, pleasant atmosphere. Quick, super friendly service, and delicious pie! Will definitely come again :3
burymewithmygamecube — Google review
Excellent little out of the way restaurant. They have a huge menu and you can order western and Chinese cuisine. We had the Monte Cristo with fries and wor wonton soup and a beef dip. The beef dip was delicious. The wor wonton soup was delicious as well. Small is definitely large enough for one, maybe even two people. The Monte Cristo was good but we have had better. Just needed something but we couldn't put our finger on it. Still good though. The staff was sure running because it was packed. We finished off with a chocolate banana cream pie! Whole banana pieces in the pie and the crust was delicious and flakey. Definitely recommend.

Sandwich shop
Subway is a casual counter-serve chain that offers customizable sandwiches and salads, catering to health-conscious individuals. The staff at Subway are known for their friendliness and efficiency. Customers have been impressed with the high level of cleanliness and attention given to special dietary needs, such as those who are celiac. The employees ensure cross-contamination is avoided by thoroughly cleaning the area, washing their hands, and changing gloves. Additionally, Subway provides quick service and allows customers to conveniently preorder online.
Nice fast food place to dine in while on a road trip. Quite a few places are take out only in this area so this was a good choice.
Frances Osborne — Google review
I really don't like their sandwiches but I was really impressed by the wraps they provided for the wedding rehearsal lunch.
Naomi Unrau — Google review
Do eat at Subway on occasion, like their Italian BMT sub. Received coupons in the mail, wanted to use the $2 off a 6inch coupon. When I ordered I specifically said I had a coupon and wanted something I could use it on, perhaps a Series equivalent of the BMT. The man made up my order then told me, on checking out, that I could not use the coupon because I was not a Series sub. NOT happy, if he was on the ball he would have helped me choose an equivalent that I could use the coupon on. Yes, it is just $2 but it really annoys me, just had to say something.
Holly Warren — Google review
Food is great for subway. Staff are good with the food prep and counter service just not good at cleaning tables and bathrooms. Have had to clean my own table for the last 5 visits. Foods good though.

Staff were friendly and efficient. Highly impressed with the level of cleaning and care they took while making a sandwich for someone who is celiac. The area was thoroughly cleaned, and the employee washed their hands and changed their gloves to avoid cross contamination.

Never have I had such a stale bun at any subway ..so tough I could barely chew it
Cheryl Payne — Google review
Staff are friendly and order is always ready fast. Love being able to preorder online. Drink fountain is so often out of syrup we don't order fountain drinks anymore.
Allyssa Thomson — Google review
Incredibly inconsistent. Their only job is making sandwiches, and they can’t even do it properly. For the most part they just throw all the ingredients on haphazardly (zero effort to distribute it evenly, so every bite is only a few ingredients) and they cannot follow customer instructions (saying “light mustard” or “a little bit of mustard” both result in a regular amount of mustard. There is no way to get a smaller amount of sauce). Gotten to the point I can’t justify going back, I will go to the grocery store for sandwiches instead.
Ashley — Google review
Took advantage of the BOGO deal, buy 1 footlong and get the second free. Have to order online or using their app. I found it fairly easy to use their online ordering program, got through it and the subs were ready when I arrived 10 minutes later. BOGOFL Is the code to get your free sub. Only available til March 3 though. Just visited the Chemainus Subway again, with some reservations, but they are they only "fast food" game in town. I should mention this was right at noon, they should have been primed for the lunch rush. Last time I was in I would swear the bun was not fresh that day. Same thing today, stale bun. The rest of the sandwich was good, even the tomatoes looked reasonably fresh this time. But wrap a stale bun around it and all is lost. Such a shame, used to be able to count on this franchise. Went into the local Subway last night around supper time. Was served by a very polite and friendly young man who made us two wonderful Italian BMT's (I'm addicted to these) on fresh Italian herb bread still warm from the oven. The service was good and the sandwiches were excellent. The only reason I did not give 5 stars was the lettuce, seems like the lettuce at most Subway Restaurants is often a little brown around the edges. But that did not stop us from enjoying our delicious sandwiches.
Holly Warren — Google review
Store was dirty. One of the guys was pouring rice into a half empty cambro with no gloves on. He then continued to wipe his hand across his nose and not wash his hands. Disgusting. There was a half made sun sitting on the back counter. I ate in and the tables were not even clean. Filthy with crumbs and stickers. Veggies were not fresh and pickles tasted rotten and had a brown colour in the middle. They were talking to their friends while I was standing waiting and the one worker had his AirPods in. Extremely disrespectful. Will not be coming back.

Best Thai food I have had! Such a gem. Highly recommend if you’re in the area or passing through. The staff is amazing and goes above and beyond for their customers.

Just WOW. So glad we stopped here. The flavours of the fried rice and the curry were unbelievable. The pineapple fried rice was amazing, the crunch from the cashews and the texture of the tofu & added goodies (peas & raisins &egg) was so delicious. Excellent portion size! We also split a green Thai curry which was unbelievably fragrant, with tofu which was just perfect! One of the best meals I've had in a long time. Next time we're on the island we'll undoubtedly be back.
Gwen Hovey — Google review
Great place to stop! We showed up for an early lunch just after opening so it wasn’t busy at all yet. I really should pay more attention to the names of the people serving us because our waiter really was quite funny and so nice…laughing all the time and telling us funny stories. I wasn’t overly hungry so had decided on the coconut soup with prawns but then spied papaya salad! Always get papaya salad! So delicious and a little spicy (by about mouthful 3, more spicy 😉) The soup was equally as good…beautiful flavour. My hubby had the cashew chicken and said it was delicious. I highly recommend a visit here if you’re in the area. If you’re not, take a road trip!

So so incredibly delicious! Best Thai we've ever had! Wonderful service, great prices. It's the only Thai we'll order now!

My partner and I arrived very close to closing time and they kindly agreed to still serve us dinner, welcoming us with a big smile. The food was amazing and very tasty. The host gave an amazing service even though it was late, had not finished eating and the kitchen staff was all gone. Very nice place, very clean and cute. Represent well the beautiful small town of Chemainus. I would 100% recommend it.

Thai Pinto has absolutely delicious food. One of the best Thai places in the Cowichan Valley for sure. The northern style curry soup is so delicious! And of course the pad Thai is phenomenal. The staff are great too. Last time I was there it was very busy so the service was a bit slower but that’s to be expected.
Kristen Vanderlinde — Google review
Surprisingly good Thai food with complex, well-balanced flavours, cooked and served by charming people in pleasant surroundings. Although the menu doesn't currently indicate this, almost everything can be made vegan: they have tofu and use fish sauce in almost no dishes. Great to have this as one of the few dining options in Chemainus.
Adam Sandell — Google review
AMAZING! The food was so flavourful. The service was very generous. We had our toddler with us who wasn't in the greatest of moods. The server saw that we were struggling and brought us some prawn crackers to tide him over. It was a thoughtful touch.

Art, the owner was a fantastic host. I called ahead of time before visiting. He is very communicative when food allergy concerns are discussed when ordering items from the menu. He guided us to choose the dishes that were guaranteed free of my allergies. He makes a conscientious effort to read all the ingredient labels of his products and ensure prep stations are away from allergen contact. For those who have severe a peanut allergy like me, We ordered the chicken wontons, pad thai, and yellow curry. All were able to be completely safe for me to eat. We enjoyed the quality of the food and conversation and our table's outdoor view was quiet and peaceful. We will definitely come back again when we visit Thetis Island in the future. Thank you Art and family for the delicious meal!

Thai Pinto was the first place my fiancee and I dined out on the Island. It is by far our favourite place to eat out. Great service, amazing spring rolls (so crunchy and home made fresh daily) and wonderful flavour. You can tell they put a lot of love into their food! Highly recommend #7 and #21

We had such good food today from Thai Pinto! We tried the drunken noodles. Great spice, really delish, lots of vegetables cooked perfectly. They used ramen noodles in the dish, which was a bit of a surprise, but we have seen in BC, restaurants don't serve the flat rice noodles. Nevertheless, it was fantastic, and I will order it again! As the other reviews said, the owner is super friendly. They were very welcoming and helpful. This restaurant is also super cute inside. Love it!

This was recommended by a local resident. Did not disappoint. I ordered the coconut chicken soup, which hit the spot on a cold day. Very reasonable rates.

Although it's a 30-minute drive from home, it's well worth it. We go often, just had my 80th birthday dinner there. Food and staff are excellent, and enough left over to take home. My favorite is the coconut soup, and all other dishes we have tried are tasty. We always share the dishes.
