La Ceiba

La Ceiba is a Caribbean port city in northern Honduras. It’s the gateway to the Bay Islands of Roatán, Útila and Guanaja. Part of a vast barrier reef, the islands have dive sites teeming with marine life such as whale sharks. South of La Ceiba, Pico Bonito National Park is rich in wildlife, including jaguars and toucans. To the west is the Cuero y Salado Wildlife Refuge, with mangroves and lagoons home to manatees.

Love this unassuming place. You could easily walk by without realizing it was a restaurant. I had the calamari in garlic sauce with fried yucca al mojo. Delicious! And the vegetables that accompany the dish was superb! It is cash only so come prepared for that.

Gorgeous setting and memorable food.

Sort of stumbled upon this place by accident, and we couldn't tell if it was open or not because no one was there at the time, but we were seated and pleasantly surprised to find some really decent, and not overly heavy food. Quality is high for the area, and although it's a bit more expensive than other places, it's still La Ceiba and brutally affordable. It's very quiet and secluded inside, lush, although hot and humid. However they happily will aim some fans your way. Very nice staff once they warmed up to us. I think at least one of the staff spoke English if you do not speak Spanish, but the menu is easy to understand.

We were happy to find this place, cozy, breezy and had the best music to go with an fairly good fried fish. A little bit on the expensive side, but most definitely we will come back.

Great place to try authentic chuletas from La Ceiba, they also serve a wide variety of food like burgers, yuca con chicharron, steaks and more. Prices are a bit high but all in all, I think its very worth it.

Great place, really good food and service. Had the calamari curry with yuca al mojo on the side and sour orange juice. Everything was delicious.

La Palapa, a popular restaurant in La Ceiba, offers an array of delectable dishes. With a vibrant and enjoyable ambiance, it caters to families, groups, and couples looking for a great dining experience. The establishment boasts numerous televisions for event viewing and provides ample seating options. While the system may be unconventional - requiring orders to be placed through floor staff instead of at the bar - it adds a unique touch to the overall experience.
Food is fresh and the service is fast! The ceviche de Camaron was on point! I highly recommend getting the limonada de menta.(lemonade with mint) it's in a slushy form.

Only stopped in to watch the band, but I will be back to try one of the large sharing platters. Fun atmosphere. Families, groups, date night. Plenty of TVs for events. No sitting at the bar, even tho there's seats at the bar. Must order from floor staff. Weird system. Maybe only on live music night, not sure.

The food was delicious! Everything we had tasted so good and was cooked to perfection. I only gave it 4 stars because service wasn't that great. It wasn't horrendous just a little slow.
Alexis Grant-Panting — Google review
Today's visit was a little unexpected. Our waitress forgot about our table and after 2 hours we placed our order. The food was amazing and the drinks were not the best. The place was beautiful and the view to the ocean was so relaxing.
