This is located near a small park it is a great location. You will find a lot of small pop up shops and several areas to purchase souvenirs and places to eat. There are bands and karaoke at the park on the weekends and sometimes throughout the week depending on if there is an event,

Cathedral of Santa Ana  one of the Gothic Revival architecture never done which was built between 1575 and 1576, being destroyed by lightning in the 19th century and was rebuild it's a place with a lot history & also show us the way cathedral were build.

The cathedral is nice but do not go to Santa Ana if you only want to visit the Cathedral. Santa Ana is a great place to be if you want to visit the places around it. The city itself is a bit dirty and there are no restaurants (except for Pupuserias) available.

A beautiful cathedral in the heart of the city. They offer tours up to the bell towers for 2 dollars per person.

Super beautiful church right on the main square in Santa Ana. Free to visit and walk inside. There’s also the lesser known option to go up to the roof and see views of the whole city. $3 for extranjeros $2 for nationals. You just need to call 2447-3303 (same day is okay) to schedule it. You can also ask the worker at the souvenir stand in the church to call if you don’t have minutes.

Definitely do the rooftop tour right before sunset. It costs 2 USD per person. Highly recommend!!

Beautiful early 1900s Italian style theatre in Santa Ana! Spectacular renovations have left this theatre looking as nice as new, and the ticket prices for a proctored tour are very affordable at $7 for foreigners. Had an exceptional tour in Spanish from one of the employees, one of the most passionate and informative tours I’ve ever received!

Great we visited the bolywood Indian Dance Show. We raely enjoyed it! Nice to spend a evening!

Old-style theatre with various events each week. The best way to know the schedule is to visit the theatre and look at the giant calendar posted outside. There are several free events and range up to $10. I don’t think they ever sell out and the tickets are General Admission so just buy at the door. I went twice and both shows started about 20 minutes after the advertised time (this is Central America). The constant use and ringing of cell phones is horrendous.

Very memorable experience, the building is well preserved and guides were very informative. Highly recommend

Fantastic building, designed and built by Durini, an Italian stone mason and architect. Built to rival the great theaters of Europe. A great place to see a show. All of the seating is still original and the price for tickets will seem very cheap to American or European tourist. Well worth a tour or a fantastic venue to enjoy a live performance.

Absolutely loved our stay at Casa Verde! Carlos is the man! He treated us feel like family during our time at his establishment. The complimentary breakfast was delicious. The bar was well stocked with both alcoholic & non-alcoholic drinks. Facilities were very nice. The roof deck was an awesome place to hang at night. Can’t wait to go back!

Easily the best hostel we’ve been too on our long backpacking trip. Carlos is a legend, and everyone is so accommodating. Wonderful clean kitchen, huge airy rooms and great (actually cold) pool! The free breakfast was delicious and different every morning. Great laundry service. The bar/restaurant served amazing cocktails too!

Staying at Hostal Casa Verde was amazing. Carlos ist the nicest host you could imagine. The food was delicious and even on the last day when we left at 6 in the morning there was some breakfast for us.

We loved this place. The owner Carlos is super helpful and welcoming. We really liked our en-suite room. The communal areas were nice, including the rooftop for sunset beers. The owner has beers and drinks in a fridge which was great. And cocktails were very reasonably priced from the bar.

Really the best hostel in our whole journey. The double bed room was big, with a nice bathroom. The hostel itself offers a very nice breakfast, a rooftop, a clean swimming pool and a fully equipped kitchen. On top of that everything is very clean and the owner and the staff are super friendly!

Had a great stay at Casa Verde. Carlos, the owner, is always happy to help, all the staff are super friendly and create a delicious breakfast every morning. Rooms have AC and the pool is nicely refreshing. Everything’s in walking distance. Would definitely come back!

Amazing hostel! This was the nicest hostel I stayed at in my one week backpacking in El Salvador. The owner was really nice and had great recommendations and tours. Great WiFi, full kitchen, rooftop, pool, and they have a restaurant and wine bar that seemed always busy. Best free breakfast I’ve ever had at a hostel!!

One of the best hostels I stayed in around the world as a solo traveler. Really social. Such a homey vibe and Carlos, the owner, takes care of all the details to have a really comfortable stay. It’s super safe and so well taken cared of. Very clean, the staff are so kind and friendly and I looooved the pool. Just perfect to feel like at home in El Salvador. You have all the information you need about trips around and buses and everything. If you stay in Santa Ana, this is the place. The beds super comfortable also. I loved my stay here and it was not easy to leave. Thank you for everything, this place will for sure remain in my heart ❤️🤩

We had a fantastic stay at Casa Verde. We booked a private room and it was spot on - little details make a big difference. Carlos is super friendly and helpful, and the breakfast included is delicious. The wine bar / restaurant attached is a great addition, we ate there 3 times it was so good! We didn’t want to leave, it’s a great place.

Was probably the best hostel we stayed at in El Salvador. The breakfast was delicious. Private rooms were like luxurious hotel rooms. With a nice pool and fully stocked kitchen.

We made a reservation a couple of days ago and after taking 2.5 hours traveling to get there, the owner tells us that the hostel is fully booked and that we should find another place. He was very rude telling us he will give us a refund. It’s not about the money. If your hostel is fully booked, you can easily WhatsApp or email us to inform us. We walked for 10-15 minutes with our bags to get here from the bus station as well. It’s shocking how this place has such high reviews. I’d recommend saving your time and energy and book a different place

Poor hygiene on floors, restrooms, by the way, you have to get ur own toilet paper before coming here. Otherwise u wouldn't get a thx u...

I hadn't been there for about 8 years and I was amazed at how modern it looks like. We found some delicious food but only a couple of Salvadoran restaurants at the food court, the rest are American fast food chains. There are plenty of stores with unique and beautiful styles. The prices are in US dollars and similar to the ones for comparable items in the US, minus taxes. Our favorite store for children's clothes is Saint Jack's. They have the cutest clothes, mainly from Disney characters. I personally haven't found them in the US. Some of their clothes are manufactured in El Salvador.

The only mall in Santa Ana, anchored by Siman and Super Selectos. The BanBan on the 2nd floor is legit with a large outdoor balcony, lacalaca on the ground floor has a good vibe.

Street vendors have taken over the zone with disorder and litter everywhere. Such a shame for the city. They should be relocated with nice wooden shops.

I seriously love this mall. If you wanna spend a fun day shopping, eating, or perhaps you want to go to the movie theater, then this is definitely your go-to place! So much food to choose from and a variety of stores to visit, you won’t even feel the time go by!

I happened to have an issue with my car key and the security team at the mall went above and beyond to help me! I have no words to express my gratitude to them, thank youuuu!

Very cute place, amazing food, and excellent service. It is pretty close to the center which was great.

Clean, but basic, it's acceptable for an overnight. The bed is too small for two people and the only blanket given was even smaller. One call and they brought a second though. Traffic noise was quite loud in our room facing the street. The area is not bad, but walking back from dinner there were many homeless that would be concerning later at night.

Great little hotel and centrally located. One hour to the beach, 30 minutes to Mayan ruins, 45 minutes to volcanic pools, and two minutes to a beer, a nice Spanish invader plaza.

Great location downtown with secure parking. Nice rooms, good WiFi, tasty breakfast and super friendly staff. Good value for money.

The only reason why we decided to give this hotel 3 stars is because it’s very noisy. We arrived early to our check in and the host showed us our potential room which was located right in front of the pool and not ready yet he showed us the room dirty and I’m not sure why he did that. Once it hit 3pm for check in there was another room ready so we decided to take that one. Room 15 which was next to the maintenance/equipment room/ laundry room. Every morning we would hear loud chatter from the workers laughing and talking very loud next to our room. I saw the same thing for Room 17 which is next to the kitchen right in front of the pool. They don’t have an ice machine and the breakfast could be better. Service from the staff was good and attentive. The location was central to everything.

By far my super great Service provided by Jaime ,Wendy,Tatiana and security guard outside taking care of parking lot.. breakfast is delicious 🤤 I have to really give this place 100 stars ⭐️ will be coming back and making it my fav hotel…

AMAZING HOTEL! I give them 5 stars! Their service was Incredible, really polite, understanding and quick! The rooms were clean, everything was in good working condition, they have an indoor pool and the room has balconies aswell! Food was good and is also included for your stay.

Best hotel in town. Room is very nice and clean. Hot showers is provided!! Definitely would come back. The hotel staffs are very kind. They helped us to arrange things that we needed for our trip! And the room comes with complimentary breakfast!!

Rarely do I give a place five stars, but this place is definitely worth it. First, things to take into consideration: the restaurant is large, but on the weekend you'll probably have to wait. But it's worth that wait. I was able to try three different types of pizza which were amazing. Not sure on the names but all were incredible. The dough was just off of my personal preference, so others may disagree on how good the pizza is. The sauces and toppings are perfect. We were with a large group, but even then still got very quick service. All the staff was super friendly and more than willing to help with any of our needs. The vibe of the place is amazing, has a very rustic/indoor-outdoor concept. Sadly I did not get to see the second floor, hopefully next time.

A taxi driver who later became a good friend said only good things about the place so I listened to him, and visited the place. To begin with, I was amazed by the views, the ambiance was very comfortable, and romantic. I would say perfect for a date. The only issue is that I was enjoying all that by myself. The food was great.

Great spot in town for a cold beer and pizza. They have a strawberry, ginger lemonade which is quiere good.

I rarely give some restaurants bad reviews, but Simmer Down is way too overrated. We had two of their pastas and both of them weren't even close to italian pasta. They were overcooked, underseasoned and just really bland. Maybe we just weren't lucky, or maybe we are spoiled, but this just really wasn't the best experience. But everyone should try on their own.

My experience was just ok. The server was fine. I ordered the steak and shrimp plate. The shrimp were big but really bland. The steak was also ok, but not worth the price. It was not cold, but not warm. I think this place is better at pizza. I would recommend pizza or the pasta before you order the steak.

Alonso was our waiter and he was phenomenal! He greeted us with a smile and was ready to get us anything we needed. He made jokes and made the overall experience very enjoyable. The pizzas we got were absolutely delicious. I kept eating despite being full! I would definitely recommend this place.

Food was decent, music was loud. I left off one star because they charge a mandatory 10% tip, which is an oxymoron. If it's mandatory it's a service charge, not a tip.

Fiat time at this place was amazing, despite my limited Spanish and the aid of translate apps, they delivered great service and fantastic food. Five stars for that. Photos attached. Second time was terrible. Waited 25 mins before the order was taken (dessert, beer and a cocktail), another 20 mins before the cocktail, 15 minutes before the dessert, 10 minutes for the cutlery for the dessert and never actually got the beer despite the server assuring me it was coming. Ended up leaving frustrated and our server was leaving also with his motorbike helmet so he had no intentions of serving the beer! His attitude was very passive aggressive, perhaps because there was a slight language barrier or because I was white. Either way, the two skinny dudes are amazing, avoid the big guy with tattoos at all costs until they fire or retrain him. Shame to trash a restaurant based on one guy but I’ve never been treated like that before and hope to never have that again.

COFFEE I heard the food is great here, but I only came here to drink coffee, so that’s what the review is about. I ordered a cappuccino, but I got something totally different. Taste of mokka but as if someone put 100grams sugar in it. The waiter told me it was absolutely cappuccino though and also did not contain any sugar. I switched to a black coffee (can’t do something wrong with that) but this was the worst instant coffee I had so far during my travels. Do not recommend.

Would highly recommend this place for a nice breakfast. They offer very good service and the food was very enjoyable. The interior of the restaurant is also quite nice and makes for a nice dining experience.

Interior design is nice, though it's quite the tourist trap. The staff are beyond distasteful and add tips on to every order without your consent whilst directly asking you when you pay to tip them. If you can believe this ..they even came and requested a 10% tip for us using the pool table which is already an extortionate $3.00 for 30 minutes. Tipping a waiter when they were not involved in any way with our game of pool is beyond ridiculous. All the staff are truly awful. It's a complete scam centre operated by the same foreign owners who own many of the bars in Santa Ana. The interior though nice is a copy-and-paste of so many of the other bars around town. Additionally the 2x1 offer is a lie...it's not infact 2x1 drinks on Thursday ..the entire offer is literally misrepresented once again...to scam the tourists. We had to argue with them for over 30 minutes about our bill which was of course...more than it should of been.

We came across this amazing place by accident. We we'd planned to get something to eat somewhere else but came back because the place looked so nice. We couldn't have made a better choice. The drinks were cheap en the food was good. What makes the place so special though is the vibe. The owner Roberto great us as if we we're family or old friends. When it started raining he even offered us a ride home. I will most definitely be back!

Really cool decor and ambiance. Two level place with a tropical garden area bar and live stage on the main level and upstairs treehouse-style overlooking the street. Very unique. Great value and quality of food. Go for the fondues! Cheap beers. The staff is top notch friendly. Had a great time. 80-90's rock on the Saturday night we visited was much enjoyed!

Nice place, but sometimes you can’t dine in because they have private events and they do not advise in advance to public. I ordered Caesar salad but it was far from being that. It should be called just chicken salad. My sister got the cordon Bleu chicken, good portions of food. Nice taste though. Friendly staff and great outdoor seating.

Very friendly and welcoming hostess/waitress who greeted me on a Sunday morning for breakfast. Tasty food and big portions. Positive atmosphere and nicely decorated with music playing. Definitely eat or drink coffee here!

The coffee was terrible. We ordered a Mocha and a Latte. We didn't drink either. No reason for horrible coffee in a country with great coffee. The restaurant has great atmosphere and the menu warrents another visit.

Breakfast came with coffee included in price. Waiter asked which coffee I’d like, I said cappuccino. He said we don’t do that, I told him just to bring whatever was included. He said no, I’ll do a cappuccino for you. He added it to the bill as an additional charge. I don’t like to support places with this practice, which is the reason for 1 star review. The coffee here isn’t great either (below average, though not quite as bad as 1 star), such a shame coming from a place known for their coffee. Food was fine though.

Beautiful setting, excellent service. The food we had was what I’d have to call average. In the USA we’d refer to this as Red Lobster quality. Not bad, but not above average. The shrimp and chicken were our favorites. The views and service make up for it though!

Staff here are very attentive and great. This place is a good spot to have a nice view of the lake while grabbing food. I found the food to be a bit overpriced for the meal itself, but in the end you are paying for the nice view and service you get.

Right off the Lago de Coatepeque! First off you can not beat the views from this location. You can see the entire lake and surrounding Volcanoes. Lot’s of food options, plenty to pick from seafood, steaks, chicken, rabbit. Their bar has anything you can think of. The non-alcoholic options are also delicious. You will start your meal with a cup of their beef consommé, which sets the tone for the delicious meal that followed. We had the starter platter, which had a little bit of everything. We shared the shrimp cocktail and ceviche. Each was big enough for two people each. We also shared the Mar y Tierra parilla between a couple of people and it was enough food. The seafood was fresh, the roasted veggies where delicious and the steak was cooked perfectly. The service was excellent, the entire staff was so helpful and attentive. My only negative comment was the amount of flies, but it can be expected when eating on an outdoor patio by a lake. You can never go wrong with delicious food and amazing views!

The views and the food were top notch! The staff was great and the food came out really good. Definitely give a try to their steak options and give a sip to their complimentary beef broth. Be prepared to spend a wonderful time looking at the lake.

I have to say that the prices are a little high for what they are offering but if you want a fancy place to impress someone this is the place. I have to warn you don't take a wrong turn the GPS took us to a VERY steep street without outlet 😨 right before the real entrance. They should put a sign the locals said that many cars do the same mistake looking for the restaurant. But overall we enjoyed it 🙂

Beautiful restaurant overlooking a lake. The food is above average but it is the atmosphere and the surrounding views really take center stage. Lomito aguje and the rice balls definitely were the best dishes I tried.

I had the rabbit. It was overcooked, under seasoned and dry. Steak was great and the vegetables too.
