Djerbahood

Open air museum
Sights & Landmarks
Points of Interest & Landmarks
Djerbahood is an open-air museum situated in the traditional whitewashed medina of Erriadh. In 2014, it was transformed into a vibrant and colourful display of street art by 150 artists from over 30 countries. The project resulted in the creation of about 250 stunning stencils, paintings and graffiti that adorned the walls of buildings throughout the village. Though some works have faded with time, exploring this unique attraction remains an enjoyable and inspiring experience for visitors.
Since the second series of graffiti even better! Worth going. Avoid midday because of strong shadows on the walls which could have impact on looks of paintings

Nice and cool neighborhood, some art pieces were already taken down (probably to put new ones for the upcoming festival) met some cool locals that had some cute shops, sadly a bit expensive. Overall great experience but I thought there would be more.
Amin Srasra — Google review
The place has been transformed into a unique outdoor exhibition - wall paintings, architectural elements, flowers and ceramics. You can walk around for hours and discover new and new things on the walls, roofs, gates and small courtyards when you pass them by.
Lyubomir Markovski — Google review
I loved this neighborhood 😍😍 so if you arrive there, you will find some kids/guys waiting for you to be your touristic guide in this neighborhood. They want only to show you around for some dinars. We had two guys showing us around. They were friendly. We saw all the street art. We loved them. Some of it is new but some of it is old and need to be taking care of. This neighborhood could be much much better than now. We recommend it for sure.
Ahmed Mestiri — Google review
Great and unique streetart! A place to be on the bucket list, if you visit Djerba! It does not matter, if you are an art lover or not. The approximately 100 pieces of art from more or less 30 local and international artists are stunning! The people living in this “hood” are very nice and kind! Thanks for having us there and making us experience this special, this unique place!

Beautiful streets where art, traditions, residents, shops,...are living together in beauty. The architecture is unique as it is historic and mixed by the different believes and cultures.

Djerbahood was a street art event in which artists from all over the world gathered in the village of Erriadh on the Tunisian island Djerba to create 250 mural paintings. It was really fun to walk through this gorgeous village!

Really unique and spectacular neighborhood. Not shure if these still qualify as graffiti or murals, but I consider them wall arts. The whole neighborhood is out of ordinary. People are friendly, beautiful buildings and stores. You can spend easily few hours here.

Lovely neighborhood, locals are very nice and hospitable. The art is very adorable and beautifully made. I highly recommend hiring a local guide if you are a foreigner and would like to get more insight on the stories behind the paintings. The stores and the coffee shops are just as cute! Definitely recommend!

It's a great place to visit. The artworks are amazing ! I would recommend visiting it during day time. Going with bike is a good idea too. Check Adem_djerbahood 's Instagram before going, you can call him to book time and have him as a guide in djerbahood.

Charming hood with friendly locals and stunning art. If you're visiting from elsewhere, a local guide can share the stories behind the artwork. The shops and coffee places are equally delightful. A must-visit!
Issam Ouahchi — Google review
Djerbahood is a charming area with iconic graffiti, but it's in need of some maintenance as the artwork has aged. It remains a great spot for a weekend visit, offering cozy cafes and souvenir shops. It's still a must-see place in Djerba!

Gazi Mustapha Tower

Mentioned on
Historical landmark
Sights & Landmarks
The Borj Ghazi Mustapha fortress, located near Houmt Souq, is a remarkable historical landmark that resembles the ribat in Monastir. The area around the fort is home to many local fishermen and there are plans for a modern marina development. This Spanish fort built on Roman foundations has undergone an impressive restoration and is an icon of Djerba's coastline.
While our tour group didn't go inside, we enjoyed walking around this well preserved castle, also known as Borj El Kebir.

An impressive restoration of a Spanish fort built on Roman foundations. Lovely area to sit by the water and relax (if you ignore all of the rubbish that’s washed up on the rocks or thrown on the ground). Very impressive monument and a real icon along Djerba’s coast line.

My 11-year-old son, who is a beginner, also found what he was looking for with adapted walks. The horses are beautiful and well cared for. Amine and his father are super nice. Safety equipment available. Everything is perfect at the Yasmina ranch! Ranch Adada Djerba

Mentioned on
Horse rental service
Morgane is passionate about horses and is the only ranch on the island whose students participate in official competitions. We chose a morning session and went swimming with the horses. A cool way to start a summer day on the beach. She also organises exciting jet ski and quad tours to discover Djerba on land and water. The ranch doesn’t look fancy, but we have been happily surprised, and can recommend Adada Ranch to anyone looking for a great family time.

(Translated by Google) We and my 12-year-old daughter took advantage of a sunny February afternoon to go for a ride in the lagoon with this equestrian center and I really don't regret it. The guide was very friendly and professional. He took into account our level and our desires. The ride was exceptional, especially the return to the beach at sunset. The price is very affordable. The horses are beautiful and very well cared for. If you have the possibility, prefer this center, the only one on the island, rather than the riders who offer you to ride their horse on the beach. It's better for the horses and it encourages a respectful and responsible practice. To top it all off, the ranch owner is a pearl, driven by a passion for horses, that we could listen to for hours.

Booked the one hour 'beach' horse ride via facebook messenger and was told to arrive for 8am. Waited till 8.30am before an adult showed up. Proceeded on the ride with a little kid guiding me. Spent at most about ten minutes riding on the actual beach. The rest of the time was spent riding through dirt tracks and road. The horses do look incredibly well cared for but I feel the overall experience was average - not bad, but not good either. Maybe it would have been better had I chosen to go on the longer blue lagoon ride 🤷🏽‍♂️

(Translated by Google) We went to the ranch by following the different opinions (Google and tripavisor). We are very disappointed, especially the children.... waiting time... no briefing before leaving... no communication with the horses... No horse passion as described, but really. Basic like a ride by the sea what.. there was no horse-drawn carriage as said in some reviews (my mother would have liked to take a ride while waiting for us, because she cannot ride a horse).. anyway, we we preferred to shorten the walk (on the beach) For 160 dinar in total (4 horses) and no explanation (about 50€), it's absolutely not worth it. I only give two stars because the hair is beautiful and looks well treated. Nothing to do with performance. Lots of potential though... We who thought we had a little initiation like that was the case during our last holidays in Marrakech with an enthusiast… And it would be wise with such a heat to offer water…. (Translated by Google) Strongly not recommended!!!! Some horses are surly, others don't move forward. Children work there (I don't know if this is authorized in Tunisia), the supervisors are exploited, they don't even have equipment, they walk barefoot. We took a walk around dilapidated houses surrounded by rubbish when we wanted to do it on the beach where we only spent 10 minutes. We had to return in the dark, the children were frightened by the kicking of certain horses... in short, it put you off horses... what a shame!

The Djerba Crocodile Farm is a zoo with a large collection of reptiles and feeding shows for crocodiles. In addition, it includes a historical museum showcasing local manufacturing and heritage village. Visitors enter through an x-ray check and can browse several shops for souvenirs, including crocodile teeth. A small restaurant is available offering pancakes, cold drinks and ice cream. The crocodile feeding show occurs Wednesday to Sunday at 5 p.m.
Thrilling! The number of crocodiles is a little bit intimidating but unforgettable. A lot of people visiting but you don't feel that. You can find some other species there such as turtles, iguanas etc. Before leaving the place you must see their museum as well with amazing exhibits.

So much fun to be had with the family. The alligators are huge and are very interesting to observe. Most of them are sleeping or chilling out, so they're not moving very often, but that makes it more interesting when you see them roaming around doing their own thing. Worth the price, and is so intriguing, highly recommended.

A real nice place to visit especially with your family. The crocodile farm + museum + bars next to it, offer a great atmosphere which is perfect for an afternoon in the family. There are many crocodiles, tortoises and lizards. You can have Heineken at the farm bar which is a nice surprise especially on a sunny day.

Great place to see for everybody. You can see a lot of crocodiles, some big turtles and other animals. It’ s good to come on crocodile lunch to hear how strong jaws they have. In place you can buy ice creams, drinks, beer and coffee. You can also eat something. Price are fitted to visitors. Even in EU you will pay less for Magnum ice creams. Beer and soft drinks are also expensive. On site there is suvenire shop with crocodiles plush and plastic toys. Generally I was visited this place second time in 11 years and I see that owner is investing in this place and doing everything that place be more and more atractive. There are also beautiful shops, restaurants close to farm which is nice to visit. I recommend this place for everybody.

Good fish restaurant. Take your time to go there. It’s price for the Djerba but it’s worth it.

Tasty seafood ... nice and clean .... nice view ... welcoming stuff.... dining under the palm trees ... music in background... small play area for kids ... do not serve alcohol. No meat and no chicken only seafood. Prices range from 5.6 € to 17€ (for a special seafood dish)/ per person

The food portions are a joke and the taste is below average and the prices are too high. Service and atmosphere are irrelevantat this point. Definitely the worst experience food wise in djerba so far.

Decent place for eating. Friendly staff. But food options are very limited...you better like fish and sea foos

Amazing restaurant. It's for sure one of the best restaurants on Djerba. The staff was friendly and the food was great! The couscous, brik, meat and fish are excellent. The prices are a little higher then in other restaurants, but the quality of the food is just over the top! Thank you for the great food!

I usually don’t write reviews but I felt this was well deserved. If you are a tourist avoid this place at all costs. Especially if you are coming from the US. Worst experience I had in all of Djerba. Very rude staff. Walked in and said a reservation was required. Called to make a reservation and he said no. Refused to speak Arabic even after telling him we don’t speak French or Italian. And heard him speak Arabic. Do not waste your time or money a lot of other great places to eat nearby.
