Lovely place with a great selection for vegetarians and live music on the weekends. Food is really really good! Unfortunely, they easily run out of ingredients for the vegetarian dishes - shortage of goat cheese is no joke.

Food and drinks are good, prices are OK (maybe a little expensive), but the vibes and the live music are outstanding for the two nights I had dinner there!

Horrible, unfriendly service (even though we were a group of 10). Fish was burnt, black. And on top, prices were comparably too high. Never again! Honestly, do not eat here!!!

I usually don’t eat fish but fell in love with the Tuna Steak of La Pergola. We even had to come back a second time to eat it again. Welcoming and warm atmosphere, great musicians but not too loud noice level overall. Loved it

This place looks very nice during the day, after dark it looses at lot of its charms due to neon lighting, I strongly recommend to improve the lightning concept to create a more cosy atmosphere after dark. Very friendly staff!

Really nice hidden gem in center of Mindelo, while outside is burning heat, when you step inside La Pergola you will be hit by smells of delicious food and local drinks, nice smooth wind and great atmosphere. Really cozy place with autentic food and drinks. Huge plus is that they offer tating menus for one person so you can really try best of Cabo Verde on one place...recomend visiting and experiancing this. Every evening they have live music.

They don’t really have a variety outside of seafood. The food didn’t really look good and wasn’t really all of that. I probably wouldn’t recommend these place. And the waiter had a lil attitude.

I love this space in the center of Mindelo, the so-called capital of culture of Cape Verde. Very fresh, cozy and relaxing. The staff is very friendly. Very good food. They have good fish and the seafood dishes are very nice. Can taste a good wine, portuguese or national (I recommend the Fogo's wine). Entries with national products are good. You can also try a cachupa (regional dish). The wait good, specially when you listen to a good song by Cabo Verde. I recomend.

Don’t try the wine tasting. It’s just a glass of wine with some cheese. Apart from that, nice atmosphere, if you don’t mind the screaming French kids :)

It's worth a visit, but lower your expectations substantially before you go. Sit at the bar for cocktails and bruschetta, do not attempt to sit anywhere else or eat anything else. Food - pricey yet average quality for Cabo Verde (i.e. not fantastic). We waited 2 hours and 40 minutes (no, that is not a typo, yes we timed it) between ordering food and getting food. The crepes I ordered were pretty good but luke warm, the other two dishes we got (chicken and something vegetarian) were really not recommendable. The bruschetta is excellent and good value. Drinks - if made by the man working there, excellent quality and strong. If made by the heavy-set French West African woman, very weak and with key ingredients missing. Her mojitos are essentially cold, minty water. The twenty-something local woman working there makes perfectly average drinks. Where to sit - we went there twice, sitting at a table in a back room, then sitting at the bar. If you don't sit within eyesight of the bar, you will not get served, or not for hours. If you sit at the bar, the service can still be pretty slow (too few employees for the amount of customers) but at least you can keep reminding them that you exist. If you cannot sit at the bar, or at least within sight of the bar, come back another day. Clientele - a mixture of tourists and European migrants ("expats") who will spend the whole time telling you how local they are and how much more they know than the tourists. They are so local, in fact, that they choose to drink in a place frequented almost entirely by white Europeans. Go figure...

Fantastic food quality, we were welcomed in English and French by the owner. We sipped a couple of amazing Caipirinhas while waiting for our food, but it was worth the wait! I can only recommend this place to explore the culture of Cape Verde, since there is typical food and atmosphere delivered. Definitely coming back since we were treated not only like customers, but more like friends. Food is just astonishing good!

This is definitely a must go in Mindelo! The food is just not to describe so amazing!! We had several cocktails (mojito is a must to try, so good!). For food we had acra, ressois (fishcakes) and bruschetta. The bruschetta is something really really special. As a main I had the vegetarian pancakes. You will not expect much but think the total opposite, this will have flavours like you’ve never had before. Let them surprise you and go to bodequita 🤩

Amazing meal here tonight. Really great food and staff, very reasonable prices ( compared to home) . Waiter asked how everything was.. " amazing" I said... . We were there early around 7pm, so it wasn't too busy. By the time we left around 9pm things were hotting up getting busy loads of reserved tables. Definitely worth a visit if you are in town for a bite to eat ( we didn't stay in the rooms.) . .

The hotel's complimentary breakfast is super nice. A1. WiFi routers on each floor so good signal all around. The staff is really friendly and helpful. Live music can be loud but ends by like 10/10:30 and rooms have ear plugs! Hot water in showers, AC in rooms, nicely decorated with African vibes.

I don't recommend this place (restaurant) at all. Especially if you get a woman named Vany (with the tattoos) Very rude, no customer service if you are a woman. She seems to only treat the men nice. If men ask her to change something, she will gladly do it with a smile. If a woman asks her something, she will flat out say, I can do it, but I won't. They (the customer) just have to deal with it. Very strange. Maybe she has her own issues, but because of this reason I can't give a positive review. Vany seems to let her ego (among other things) get in the way. Got stared down from the moment I walked in the place happy. Maybe me being happy irritated her demons. Who knows. But I didn't feel welcome and she was standing outside, so if I were the manager, I would not let her welcome guests in. The only server that always has a positive attitude is Eric. But even he can't make up for that troubled woman named Vany. Edit: seeing how the owner doesn't understand that your servers represent the place and doesn't understand what the issue is I rest my case. The two cannot be separated....business 101. The fact that my experience is not treated seriously and is being invalidated says a lot. Different people get different experiences if you truly read what I wrote.. But don't take my word for it. Look at the other reviews.... apparently not everyone loves her. She indeed left an impression on me. A bad one.... ;) But you want another reason not to go to this place? When they say there is no meat in a dish and you ask three times to be sure, there still will be meat in the dish. And this has nothing to do with a server. Purely the restaurant. This is the "safe" place where all the tourists go. Food was good but not exceptional, music was great but almost no audience in 2 consecutive evenings. Too expensive for what it is.

Great place to have a coffee or lunch. The manager is from Lisbon and very kind and service minded! The girls are lovely and sweet!

We liked the stay in this historic building a lot. Also they organized a swim with the turtles and stingrays at the beach behind the airport and even took care of the photos to be sent to us.

I ordered rice and got spaghetti, I asked for a minute to look at the menu again they came after an hour the bill was far beyond the price on the menu and we asked them to correct it. They told us the menu has the wrong prices ... So I guess all the guests pay more... The toilets are so dirty! It is extremely expensive for the quality of food and service they offer.... For one third of the price it would be ok.

Had a lovely night at the restaurant of this place. We got a nice big table outside for 11 people. Serving (warm) food to that amount of people isn’t an easy task to fulfil, but the staff managed well! Great food (local and prepared better than other restaurants we visited) and friendly waiters. There was also live music. Would definitely recommend!

Insanely expensive food. Not even close to other expensive places in cabo verde. I would highly recommend skipping this place. The food was only decent. Nothing special. There were some singers while we were there, they sang so loud that we could not have a normal conversation. The good things are that the waiters were nice and spoke English. Also, the location was perfect. Edit to owner: I am not the person that asked for 5EUR/kg lobster. I was at your place a week ago. Eventhough the food was decent the other things made my experience an unpleasant one, for that reason the 1 star.

During our stay in Mindelo we ended up quite a few times in Café Mindelo. For a drink, for a meal, for the music in the evenings. It has a special vibe, and the food is just delicious.

It's a well managed beach bar on Mindelo's beach. The prices are a slightly higher than in some other places in town but still very reasonable. The place also rents out umbrellas and beach chairs (3€ per beach chair) for the day if you want to relax on the beach but didn't bring yours. Food & Cocktails are okay, beer is nice and cold, staff is attentive.

I had a terrible experience at this place and I feel ashamed as a capeverdean that this is what we are offering our tourists! The service was not good but the worst was the food. They served us pork which was almost only bones, they boiled a small portion of frozen vegetables with not even salt and we asked for them to replace shrimps for canned tuna and they charged us 13€ for this which is insane for tuna and spaghetti! When we complained the manager was extremely rude, didn't present a proper solution and arrogant. I was never treated like this by a manager before. Overall a sad and disappointing experience. I kindly ask the people responsible to review Kalimba management and act on it!

Good food at a fair price, and a great view. They charge you 3 euros (300 escudos) to use the chairs at the beach for 4 hours and 5 euros (500 escudos) to use it for the whole day.

Sushi is very far from being the best i ever had but it's ok. Good margarita though!

I read the reviews and went to eat. Place is nice and clean. Food is small portions for the price. Fish content is minimal and mayo content maximal. We have been spoiled with great sushi joints in US.

Good sushi, great cocktail. Offers a change to the other type of place in Mindelo. Salmon is smoked, tuna depending on the fishing.
