The Captain's Table at Hotel Bakotu is a superb dining option, surpassing other restaurants in the area. Despite its slightly higher prices compared to beachside tents, the quality of food here is outstanding. Highly recommended for its delectable cuisine, especially the Yassa dish that stands out as the best in Gambia. The staff members are extremely friendly and create a pleasant atmosphere. Live music adds to the overall enjoyable dining experience.
We stayed in the area for over a week and tried many restaurants. This was by far the highest quality. Slightly more expensive than other restaurants, but the value is clear when you receive the food. The best Yassa I've had in the Gambia. Very friendly staff and great atmosphere. Tasteful life music.

Had special 745D 4 small prawns and strange bits. Very disappointed. For money payed.
Four of us went here for dinner. Absolutely great food, delicious, restaurant quality, would highly recommend.
Good food and a lovely place..But service very bad waited 1 hour for food on two occasions because it is joined to the Bakuto hotel and in that hour every plate of food went past us into that hotel people have walked out on both occasions including us .What a shame great staff felt sorry for them.

Sambas Kitchen is a delightful establishment with amiable personnel. The cuisine is satisfactory, although regrettably the steak was excessively cooked (requested medium-rare but received an overcooked result resembling shoe sole). Furthermore, the assortment of beverages and beer options are limited despite the notable menu. One recent guest had a pleasant Sunday dinner experience, praising their exceptional carvery and complimenting the affable staff. Additionally, they conversed with the chef who showcases expertise in preparing an authentic English Sunday meal.

Nice place to hang out... Had a nice Gambian Local Meal Benachin here.. It’s really quite popular during the tourist season...

Loved this bar we happened upon after coming up off beach via Solomons bar, heading up to the strip. Nice place to eat and relax and enjoy a drink. Defo be back next spring
First time at Sambas Kitchen. A thoroughly enjoyable evening. The live music was really good. Merl The Singer was brilliant. She was lively and interacted well with the crowd. I would definitely recommend Sambas.

Amazing food, great service. Fantastic vegan options. We had chana masala, tarka dhal, jalferzi, roti and naan. Definitely recommend for a hearty healthy feed.

Sadly, the musician who was let into your premises has destroyed my evening by "telling me off" for tipping him not enough or in a wrong currency apparently and actually returning my tip back to me. Despite being quiet due to the end of the season, they accommodated customers who informed them of their arrival time, showcasing great service. The restaurant's cleanliness is commendable, and the staff greets everyone warmly with preparedness and a smile. The ambiance is relaxed, making it an ideal place to enjoy a day out.
While somewhat underwhelming in appearance, dont be put off. This is a gem. The fish and prawns are absolutely fabulous. Tenderly cooked with wonderful juices. The platter comes with two intense sauces. The portions are very generous so be sure to go with an empty stomach. Delicious rice. The place was almost empty when we went, which seems unfair, given the freshness of their produce and the competence of the cooks. I'll be visiting again.

Well with a visit the prawns in garlic sauce superb service excellent. It was the end of the season so very quiet so they closed early in the evening but they did stay open if I informed them I would be there and they did that's great service . I will be back Christmas and will definitely be eating there . Thanks to all the staff .the options below don't give all choices but I did eat lunch evening and did a take out .also try the seafood pizza you won't be disappointed
Nice restaurant on the front over looking the beach. Food a bit more expensive than the other places nearby. We had Paella ,which was very good
Each time I visit the restrooms are very clean. The staff are all prepared to serve and greet with a warm smile. The atmosphere is very relaxed and the food is always prepared well. It's one of my favorite places to just have a nice vibe on a day out.
