Rose Hall Great House

Event venue
The Rose Hall Great House, a restored Georgian mansion on a former plantation in Jamaica, offers both day and ghostly night tours. Known as the House of Horrors, it is said to be haunted by Annie Palmer, also known as the White Witch for her cruelty towards slaves and alleged involvement in three husbands' deaths. The property dates back to colonial times and was restored in the 1960s. Trained actors add to its eerie reputation by scaring visitors during tours.
We hired a driver called Blake (who is our shuttle from and to the airport) to take us on an excursion for today (Bob Marley's Mausoleum, Rose Hall Great House and Luminous Lagoon). We really enjoyed visiting Rose Hall great house as it was on our Jamaica bucket list for a long time. Our tour guide Erica was really nice and knowledgeable. Her stories were captivating and mesmerizing. She was really good and friendly. The tour was great and well managed. I took a lot of pictures and we had a great time. It didn't disappoint and I really recommend it.
Marc Berube — Google review
We appreciated the history of the Jamaican sugar production and to reflect on the harsh treatment of enslaved people. The whole story about the white witch, her husbands, lovers, and ultimate demise, was very interesting and left me wanting to know more. The tour guide was professional and funny. I do think it’s an important stop when you’re on the island drinking rum runners and eating jerk chicken. The views are also *beautiful* and you will be sure to get some good snaps.
Brianne Fischer — Google review
We had so much fun. Erica was our guide and the history was wonderful. Tons of beautiful period correct architecture and furniture. All amazing experience!
Allan besner — Google review
This is an awesome place filled with rich history people should know. Our tour guide did a great job explaining some of the myths about this place. Once you finish the tour, you will learn so much about Annie Palmer, the White Witch of Rose Hall.
WAYNE SCULLY — Google review
I thoroughly enjoyed the scary night tour. We were also with an 11 year old and 13 year old who also had a blast. The history of the house, the slaves and the plantation was told to us by Ricky, who is a great guide... Thank you...
Monique Honeyghan — Google review
This historical home has all kinds of interesting stories attached to it. The stories and history alone are enough to make it worth your while, but add on top of it the friendly and knowledgeable people staffing it. Our tour guide, Sancha, was knowledgeable, patient and kind. My 2 boys had many questions and she made sure to answer all of them, regardless of how silly they were. My wife and I love history and had quite a few questions of our own. So this tour really made our day and we enjoyed hearing all the stories and conversing with Sancha.
Adam Dabb — Google review
We had a guide to ourselves and loved walking thru the house and the grounds…the stories around “Annie” were mostly just that - stories. I would have rather heard just the actual history, but it was beautiful day… And, there was an awesome gentleman selling jewelry and other souvenirs outside by “Annie’s tomb”.
kp w — Google review
Booked a private tour of just our small group of 6 through our hotel, and went right after opening. No wait and so nice to get a good look at everything. The house itself is quite grand, and the yards outside were beautiful. I took many pictures of the art on the walls and furniture inside the house. Loved learning more about the legend of the White Witch. Our guide was excellent in filling us in on all the horrors of Annie Palmer. Also, learning how much of a connection Johnny Cash has to this place was an interesting surprise. We did a daytime tour, and it still was a little creepy, so a night tour would be very spooky, I'm sure. I share my picture of myself and Annie's mirror. I am not sure if I really see anything "extra" in the mirror, but once you hear the stories, and start to look more at it, it's amazing what the mind can make you think you see. I am very intrigued to learn a little more about the history of this place and the legends behind it.
J W — Google review
I have taken both the day and night tour at Rose Hall Great House and thoroughly enjoyed both tours particularly the night tour for its atmospheric rendering of the legend of Annie Palmer. The tour guides I had were courteous, knowledgeable and professional. A gift shop that sells quality souvenirs and a basement bar serving refreshments are located within the premises of the attraction. Be prepared for several heart stopping jump scares with the night tour. There is ample parking close to the entrance and entrance fees are reasonable.
Peter Kapshuk — Google review
Made the night tour and it was a great and funny experience. Our tour guide Ricky and all actors were great, and we recommend to take this tour. Not only you get fear and fun, full team is highly coordinated, but you get the story of the mansion and its past inhabitants and, even more and quite sadly, some insights into the tough life of past African people enslaved in the plantations. Thanks a lot, Ricky and whole team!
Roberto Vazzoler — Google review
A piece of history preserved. Can't wait to go to the night tour!!!! Staff were courteous and knowledgeable. There is a basement bar, try the white witch. There is a gift shop with local crafts and Jamaica branded items. The views are SPECTACULAR. It is a lovely property with a rich history. Do Cinnamon hill tour as well.
Anna Dookie — Google review
Very interesting and historical story, albeit a tragic one. One has to wonder how such evil can exist. The Great House is huge and an architectural beauty. Our guide, Shauna, was terrific and knew her stuff.

Jamaican restaurant
Jamaican restaurant Scotchies is a popular spot for delicious jerk chicken. The spices and method of cooking gives the dish its unique flavor, which is well-loved by diners. The restaurant is always busy, but the wait is worth it for such a delicious dish. It's clean and pleasant with great views, though service can be slow at times.
Lovely Restaurant… The food was well seasoned. The pork was a little salty but okay. The Jerk chicken was great, well seasoned and cooked to perfection. Our server Sonia was the best. She had that lovely Jamaican flare to her service style, knew exactly what to get for us. The ambiance was a little hot but I guess it’s because it’s open air and we went in the middle of the day.
Shaquille Blair — Google review
A go to place, decent price. Lines can get long. I like the chicken better than the pork. Fries are better than other local places where it is filled with oil.
Clifton Russ — Google review
I personally think this place is overated. We have been here a few times and each time before now, I told myself maybe I am not getting their best, but after three visits, I believe what I am getting is their best and it is not the best food. This is a good place for a quick bite....not much waiting after ordering and the staff there was very nice. There is plenty of seating, I will say after three visits, I never had a problem with seating There is a bar on site, so there is an opportunity to get a cold beer or a mixed drink. I would go back.
David Fletcher (RegNeoJazz) — Google review
Clean and serene. Didn't let the name fool you, everything is mild until you make it spicy. So feel free to get your food here without the spice. Local beggar was a turn off though, so might not be back because of it. But food was good.
Rob — Google review
Scotchies still gets it done. We first visited here 25 years ago and still love this place. Excellent jerk pork. The jerk chicken was a little dry but still quite good. For the best flavor be sure to add the sauce. Forgo ordering fries and order the festival and rice and peas. Wonderful island atmosphere and somewhat slow service. That is ok as this is Jamaica. Have a beer and chill. Many locals frequenting Scotchies.
JF Marchant — Google review
A few years ago I ate here and thought it was way better then today. The chicken was dry and didn’t taste like it had much jerk seasoning so I added more of the spicy jerk sauce for flavor and to help the dryness. But the hot pepper pot soup was good although it could’ve been spicier. Long line went quick and good place to get quick bite.
Elizabeth ?Liz? M — Google review
Scotchies was great. Our waitress was super friendly and and the food was delicious. What more can I say. They came highly recommended and did not disappoint. Highly recommend, for down to earth, unpretentious, seriously good eats!
Chris Allo — Google review
There's a reason their jerk chicken is world famous. It is SO good! We came back a couple of times during our stay in Montego Bay because the food was amazing, the staff was welcoming, and the bar area was a cozy tropical dive populated with locals, tourists, and expats all shoulder to shoulder. It was a great vibe and very authentic Jamaican experience.
Alison DeKleine — Google review
Service: This was underwhelming because we arrived at 9 p.m. and they close at 10:30. We, a party of four, were the only ones who ordered food. There were three people at the bar. Upon going to the order counter, the order taker was a bit abrasive when asked about the different items available. We were directed to the menu. After informing her of my order, she stated none of the sides I ordered were available. I ordered the roasted fish and conch. The cooks told her "no" and she began to raise her voice. They then went to the back to pull out the fish and conch. They were unethused and unprofessional. The lady at the counter told me 15 minutes and the cooks stated 30 minutes. I was disappointed about this because my friends were done by the time I got my food. For this I gave 4 ⭐️. Food: The roasted fish and conch were amazing! Seasoned to perfection and they were cooked just right. I thoroughly enjoyed both (minus the slimy okra). I do recommend this establishment. I just recommend you expect a different welcome if you go near closing.

Go go and go! A great experience, with great food! The staff were friendly and accommodating to tourists, happy to show is their cooking method! Service was efficient. The place was clean. There were locals and tourists present. The price was reasonable. Parking is outside the door. Would recommend 100% if in Jamacia do not miss out!

Good food; nice vibes. Staff could be a bit more friendly: just my experience. Will definitely go back though.
william scott — Google review
We asked a lot of locals where to go for the best jerk chicken and they said Scotchies. It was good but not GREAT. We most definitely have better jerk children in Indiana🤷🏽‍♀️. The chicken was very juicy and had good flavor but the rice and peas had no flavor. The restaurant had a good vibe but I don't think I would go back on our next visit.
lee lovely — Google review
If you want a local hot spot then this is a good stop. Wait in line, order, get your number wait some more, then they call your number and you sit anywhere available. Food was good, but they only had the jerk chicken and wings available, nothing else was available so that was disappointing. I was really looking forward to some jerk pork & ribs. Price was a little high for what I actually got but it was it is.
Queen B Jules — Google review
Let’s begin by remembering that if you are not Jamaican, then you must adapt to this culture!! A lot of people are VERY privileged and we must remember it is NOT like being at “home”. Besides that, the location, food, and vibes are REAL Authentic here!! I always love a place that offers places to stand and eat! I ordered Jerk chicken first time, then the Chicken Sausage the second time 10/10 on EVERYTHING!! The ‘Festival’ is a MUST try!! Be kind and respectful people Enjoy this beautiful business near the ocean
Finesse Lord — Google review
The Jerk chicken tastes very good. The rice and peas also tasted good but it was cold, and had to be reheated. It's a good spot for tourists and a welcome break on your way to the airport, which is about a ten minute drive away. The WiFi is absolutely rubbish, something needs to be done about it. The chips were my favourite, it really tasted good, I will recommend it with your Jerk chicken. I will definitely visit again. Parking is limited as there are other businesses around that use the parking space. It's off the main road and near the sea. Wheelchair users will struggle with the toilet.
Joseph Awotwi — Google review
Stopped by on a Thursday afternoon straight from Sangster's International Airport. We were really excited to finally eat here. It was not crowded, so the wait time was really short. The folks by the fire pit are much friendlier than the lady in the cash register booth. We had a hard time hearing her, and it was almost like she barely wanted to speak up so we could hear. We had to keep asking her to repeat. My advice, if you hate your job so much...quit. Customer service needs work. Food was ok, enjoyed the festival and jerked pork. We probably won't be going back.
Jaye Jodianna — Google review
Brilliant place , well worth a visit We called in on trip back from Montego Bay The Jerk Chicken was brilliant , and great setting . Well worth a visit . Yeah Man 👍
Paul Clarke — Google review
Good juicy jerk chicken cooked to perfection and full of flavour, without having to add any sauce. The small portion of fries were too small and were mediocre. The steamed veg was flavourful, cooked very well and had a slight kick to them. There is a nice local vibe & atmosphere to the place. Highly recommend when in Montego Bay.
Ergun Serce — Google review
The jerk chicken is AMAZING! Full of flavor and at a good price! Highly recommended eating here!

Jamaican restaurant
Miss T's Kitchen is a lively and tropical Jamaican diner that features unique dishes such as curried goat and grilled lobster. Tourists will enjoy the delicious and potent rum punches while getting transported into the local lifestyle.
I loved this place it was absolutely amazing. It is very relaxing and enables calm dining. The food and service was 10/10. Abigail our server was super attentive and provided good menu recommendations. The food “tun up”. I had bar-b-fry chicken with rice and peas and I tell you it was short of nothing. We dined outside and there was quite a lot of the Jamaican heritage and culture incorporated in the decor. While seated the owner Miss T also arrived and had quick talk and asked how we were. Looking for authentic Jamaican food and experience visit here you will have no regrets.

Great food, great ambiance and friendly staff. I had the famous oxtail n beans which was pretty good 👍 however the portion could've been more for the price. We also got saltfish fritters on the house which was really good 👍

Amazingly great place. Food was👌🏽 Atmosphere and staff were great 😃 We had a variety of food and drinks and they were all excellent. No complaints at all! The staff overheard that it was one of our party's birthday and so they surprised us with a sing song and a slice of cake. Perfect end to a perfect evening. Definitely would recommend coming here if you are staying local or coming into Ochio Rios at all.
Nicole Sandford — Google review
This is a really nice hidden gem. The decor, the music, and the service were all top tier. I visited on a Sunday and had no problem being seated. The servers were prompt and checked on me frequently. I ordered the stamp and go and the honey garlic chicken, which was more honey than garlic, but it was still enjoyable. It's definitely a place I would visit again. Also, please note that menu items are quoted in USD.
Revelee Henry — Google review
I picked this restaurant with hopes of enjoying the fish dishes, but unfortunately that day no fish was available. Good news is that everything else we ordered was fabulous and tasty. We ordered the oxtail pasta and the bar-b fried chicken. Food was delicious. No regrets.... just joyous guilt from eating so much ☺
Daena Charles — Google review
Loved the decor. The service was great too. The food was okay. I had the honey garlic chicken for the main and the fritters (stamp and go) for the appetizer. The chicken was good but nothing spectacular, in my opinion. The fritters were just okay. Small (and you just get five) and kinda blah. Overall, it was an enjoyable experience, I would go again. My next visit, I'd like to try the curry goat. I've heard great things about it.
Sutandy Thompson — Google review
Excellent food. Curry goat and oxtail are their specialities and they do it well. Make sure you let them know if you like it spicy, they have Scotch bonnets, chopped or sauce to add.
Lanre Okusanya — Google review
My visit to Miss T's was okay. I loved the ambiance and decor considering it's in the busy town of Ocho Rios. The meals were tasty- curried chicken and oxtail with rice and beans, authentic I'd say. It was a Saturday night and they had large parties so everyone was busy. Our server was nice despite the busyness. Menu items are a tad bit pricey but it was good to be there for the experience.
G W — Google review
Really not worth it at all. Ordered the ox tail but it was just a salty stew. That’s it, no other flavors. The kicker is it cost $35 for such a small portion. With uninspired salad and standard rice and peas. Not good enough. I was also the only customer there that night. That should have been the dead giveaway but I was fooled by the plaques on the wall. Only upside, service was good.
Andrew Mackintosh — Google review
Miss T's Kitchen is nestled away in the hustle and bustle of the town centre of Ocho Rios. Very cute and rustic decor. I love to read the signs that are all over the walls. The food is usually good here. I really enjoyed the salmon on this trip. The waitress told me that the special was teriyaki salmon, however, I received garlic salmon. No complaints here! It was yummy.

Miss T’s is my favorite place to dine in Ochi Rios , located in the heart of the town via Main Street. It is truly a hidden gem , the service is amazing. From you enter the property , the security directs you and is very helpful in assisting with parking. We were then greeted and allowed to choose a table of our liking . The menu has a lot of variety to choose from , chicken to shrimp to fish to goat to oxtail (etc) . Definitely try out the curry goat mixed with the oxtail a most salivating experience and the ambiance is quiet & a rustic kind of vibes ( I love it , cause I’m an old soul). All in all I would recommend anyone to give Miss T’s a try you will not regret it.

This was one of the best experiences I have ever had at a restaurant. I went there to celebrate my mom's birthday and from the phone call to the departure the customer service was fantastic. The ambience was perfect. The food was the best food I have ever tasted! I shall be returning. It was a whole evening of awesomeness!!!

What can I say about Miss T's...something for everyone. I had the most amazing delicious Vegan Burger ever at Miss T's...and trust me when I say it was delicious, tasty and full of flavour. Very filling... I ordered Plantain Chips to accompany the burger...I wanted another one but I knew I would not have managed to eat it, because the first was all satisfying. It was cooked separately from the main restaurant. They have a Vegan Hut Restaurant on the same premises. I can highly recommend this dish, even if you are not a Vegan/Vegetarian.

If you are a local or visiting Jamaica MISS T KITCHEN is a absolute must visit place for signature Jamaican dishes. The service was phenomenal, my sever went above and beyond in accommodating us. The food was extremely tasty. Prices were very reasonable. Highly recommend this establishment to everyone! You will NOT be disappointed.

This is a solid 4star Jamaican restaurant. I have only had the oxtail pasta, and salmon curry, the pasta is lit! Ask for extra bammy right of the back I promise you'll thank me later. Anastasia was our waitress she was very accommodating she is a great server. For the record Miss T's kitchen is one of the best Jamaican restaurants on this strip there food is very good and they don't try to take advantage of tourist with over priced food that is regular at MOST other places on this same strip will! The atmosphere is very artistic and they have many quote in sign form to keep you reading 📚. I highly recommend this place. Parking is limited and I highly recommend that you go early verses late because the get busy in the evening and sometime the close the doors early because of overlooking.

Did you know that Miss T’s Kitchen won Best Restaurant for USA Today in 2022? This spot is a must try when visiting Ocho Rios. It embodies Jamaica from the decor to the amazing food. The menu is a celebration of Jamaican cuisine. You will find all of the favorites such as oxtails, goat, and jerk chicken. They also offer fish cooked in a variety of ways. You also can’t have a Jamaican meal without rice and peas. Drinks are also available, such as authentic coconut water, and an array of cocktails made to order . I was with a party of 3. We ordered the oxtails, curry goat and the jerk chicken. I personally had the jerk chicken. It was tasty. I have never had goat, but had a bite of my sister’s meal. I have to admit that I really enjoyed it. I would recommend ordering the goat over the jerk chicken! Overall, Miss T's Kitchen is a must-visit destination for anyone craving a taste of Jamaica in Ocho Rios. It’s the combination of the atmosphere and food for me!

Best meal I ever had. Unbelievable service, fried chicken with sweet and sour bbq sauce, land crab, oxtail and curry. Among other things, they ordered everything on the menu. Can see why my friends who live nearby, go here several times a week. The owner is such a sweet person. Loved it!

Based on a recommendation from a local we decided to go to Ms T Kitchen and it did not disappoint, the vibe, the decor, attention to details , our server anticipated all our needs she was great! and of course the food was wonderfully presented & delicious ! Lobster curry & coconut cream 🤩, the oxtail and curry goat combo was fantastic, we also had fried plantain, saltfish fritters. Everything was delicious, will be back next time I’m in Ocho Rios

The food was amazing, I got the fish in rundown style, which is the snapper cooked in coconut milk/cream with veggies. I got chips as a side. The fish was massive and I just about got through it. It was very tasty and tasted very fresh. It’s one of the highly recommended places in the area.

Absolutely wonderful, would recommend to everyone and would go every time I come to Jamaica. Miss T is so welcoming and considerate as is the staff. We had an amazing server who made the best strawberry daiquiri I've ever had and everything on the menu is outstanding (thankfully I went with a few people so I got to try almost everything on the menu 😉). Can't end this without mentioning the unique and extremely creative decor of Miss T's restaurant, it made for the best atmosphere, both functional and beautiful.

You can get your American breakfast here! It’s a bit pricey but the portions are big. The atmosphere is great and everyone is friendly! I got a bacon, egg and cheese sandwich but for some reason they add lettuce and tomatoes. The coffee is pretty good too! Give it a try! Enjoy!

We came for breakfast on a Friday morning. The service was great, our waiter was so sweet. The food is delicious! We ordered the stew pork and banana, ackee and salt fish, fried dumpling, a fish (which my guy devoured before I could get a good pic ☺️). I also really loves the ambience. There is a waterfall right outside the window and all the windows are open to let in the breeze and hear the soothing sounds.

Came here twice during our stay in Montego Bay and both times we were treated well and the food was fantastic! First visit was on a Wednesday at 7PM with a party of 6 and we were immediately seated. Second visit we arrived with a party of 16 on a Saturday at 8PM and were immediately seated again! We family-styled the apps and ordered individual mains. Get the oxtail - so nice I did it twice! The mango wings were also a hit for our big party.

Each time I eat there the food was good, staffs were all kind and courteous, and knowledgeable of the variety of dish they offer for breakfast lunch and dinner, noting exotic, local Jamaican dishes, and some american dishes, so if you like tasty common dishes, food that you can't go wrong with , here you will find them. Drawbacks the entrance and the parking is at a rather acute angle coming off the corner of the main road commonly call Bottom Rd, sometimes people on the roadside or a member of your own car group have to direct traffic for you to get in and out of the entrance.and the parking at the front is insufficient. And sometimes on Sunday evenings the menu is quite lacking . But it's a good experience being there, the ambiance is wonderful, the waterfall, and the paintings are lovely , and nice good food.

Visited The Pelican Grill twice within two days, the first visit was on a Sunday evening, the food was excellent, service was also first class, portion sizes were very generous. It was that good we visited on the Tuesday for lunch. Same top notch standard. I would highly recommend for authentic Jamaican food. Photos of the steam fish and jerk pork chops which we had on Sunday. Forgot to take photos of the Oxtail on Tuesday, too busy eating.

The main plus is it opens late and the service staff was friendly. The food was massively overpriced, and tasted cold/old. The stew peas wasn't good at all and cost about 3k Jamaican dollars. Should have gone to KFC or something like that.

Beautiful location! Got there just in time for the awesome sunset. Very attentive to individual's needs. Wonderful server Samantha - on top of her game, remembered dietary restrictions for each group member. We were in the area for 4 days and ate there 3 of them. The only day we didn't was the day of the wedding. All the staff were phenomenal.

Exceptional dinner with oxtail and curry goat, a true delight. Cervan, our waiter, was incredibly attentive, suggesting local specialties over the usual. His recommendation elevated our last night in Jamaica, turning it into an unforgettable experience. Thanks for a wonderful dinner and outstanding service!

This establishment comes highly recommended by the local gift shop. Situated along the coastline, I must express my utmost satisfaction with the culinary offerings. The skilled chef, on the 17th of March, prepared an unparalleled dish of curried lamb and rice. Without a doubt, it was the most exquisite combination of flavors I have ever encountered in England, Jamaica, or any other place I have visited. I had eagerly awaited this particular dish for an extended period of time, and upon its arrival in Montego Bay, I was delighted to find it absolutely fresh. The texture of the sauce was perfectly balanced, and the tenderness of the meat simply melted in my mouth. Bravo, Pelican Grill! Went there on Mother's Day and the experience was 10/10. Firstly I had to wait to be seated but that was fine with me cause the place was busy. Once we got seated, waitress gave us a pleasant Greeting and took out orders. The turn around time for the food was great. We didn't have to wait long. I got the conch chowder and it was was rich and delicious I flavour. Main courses were amazing!!!!! All the food I had was amazing. I'm definitely visiting this place again. Excellent Service!!!!

What a beautiful experience. This restaurant has been around since 1964 they maintain high standards which is great to see. The menu was very nice we had salmon with plantains and peas and rice It was very tasty. The red bean soup was delicious. For drinks I recommend the Irie coffee and a Red Stripe sorrel beer. Our server David made our dining experience a pleasure. We will definitely go back when in Jamaica again!

Good food & great location. Servers are very attentive. We stopped for breakfast and had the American Breakfast with eggs, bacon, & French toast. We also had the saltfish which was tasty and the plantains were very good. The coffee is beyond expectations and absolutely delicious.

Fine dining restaurant
Sugar Mill Restaurant is located in the famous Half Moon Resort and offers amazing food in an exquisite environment with renowned hospitality. Fine Jamaican cuisine is on the menu, as well as top-notch selections of rums and Caribbean wines. The setting at Sugar Mill is definitely something to experience!
My husband and I had the most wonderful experience here. The decor and atmosphere is so beautiful and the staff is warm, excellent and personable. Shirley gave us a wonderful experience. The flavors of all the dishes we tried were so balanced but complex. The cocktails are subtle and delicious as well. This is the nicest place to celebrate a happy occasion.

Even though this restaurant is managed by black individuals as a black person I would not eat here. Management told me that one of the members within our party wasn’t within their dress code but we witness multiple white people not dressed to the standard they were expecting us to followed. Once the others were pointed out due to their attire not following the dress code that we were told to follow the manger proceed to tell us they have the discretion to pick and choose who eats at the restaurant. I don’t mind following rules, but it’s a problem when they pick and choose who follows them.

I chose this restaurant for dinner to celebrate my fiancé’s birthday. The food was amazing, everything was very well seasoned and cooked to our liking. We did order alcoholic beverages which we felt were a bit watered down but they were still tasty as well. …now the overall experience was good, the server was attentive, the assistant manager even introduced herself to us and made sure we were taken care of.

I honestly could not find anything negative about the restaurant. From the moment you arrive there is a gentleman opening your car door and welcoming you to the restaurant. The staff were friendly and very attentive. The food presentation was impeccable and it did not dissapoint, every meal was great and flavorful. We shared Oxtail Ravioli as an appetizer, my friend had rack of lamb and I had the beef rib-eye. We shared sides of roasted potatoes and fried kale. I wish I took pictures of all the food.. It was my friend's birthday and I had mentioned this on the phone when making reservations and I was very impressed that they remembered and they brought out a cake on the house for him and the staff came and sang happy birthday. We were too full to order any deserts but I am sure if we did it would have been great. They even called our taxi guy to pick us up. This is a pricey restaurant but the whole experience and the food makes it all worthy in my opinion.

My daughter was celebrating her 24th birthday at the Sugar Mill Restaurant located in the Half Moon Hotel with friends in Montego Bay, Jamaica. I wanted to surprise her and her friends with a New York style strawberry cheesecake. I called the Hotel and spoke with Brittney Spence Concierge Agent and she made it happen. I want to personally thank Brittney and the pastry team for making my daughter’s birthday so special. Thanks Colleen, Charlotte, NC

Historical place- that sets the perfect mood for dinner. I'm vegetarian and gluten free and I was overwhelmed with how many exciting and delicious options there were. I also love spice and they went above and beyond to meet every expectation. We celebrated my husband's birthday and they went the extra mile with birthday dessert as well as additional takeaways(macaroons, chocolate truffle, etc). Excellent wine selection including our favorite French bottles. Service was impeccable and friendly. Highly recommend for everyone. Compliments to staff and chef who came to our table to personally greet us.

I absolutely love this restaurant, everything was incredible from the ambiance to the servers, the Chef is A1. The cocktails were really good we had the Ginger martini and Bloody Mary both were so so good. Our food choices were so delicious we can't wait to go back there it's worth the trip from Toronto to Jamaica Montego Bay. Special hellos to Chef Christopher Golding who deserves huge compliments, our server Colin who made our dining experience extra special and Robert the General Manager!!

Went with a work colleague, the experience was great. The ambience was a bit on a the romantic side, dimly lit lights on each table and on the trees on the property. The service was excellent, we had a number of different servers, and the manager even came to ask how easy the experience. I will be going back for sure. A bit pricey but worth it.

We came to celebrate a friend's birthday. We arrived behind schedule, but we were accommodated immediately, which we appreciated. The restaurant's focus is service, and that was evident in all the detail. From the bread service, amuse bouche and down to crumbling tables. It was the food, however, that did not hit the mark for us. The breadfruit gnocchi were dense and tough, the oxtails ravioli were bland, and the pork belly special was rubbery and the fat undercooked. Considering the prices at this restaurant we were highly disappointed with the food overall. I have to note that there were many steps taken to recover by the chef and managers. The dish we did not eat was removed from the check. But we didn't come to this restaurant to send dishes back. We came to leave with full bellies, but instead, we left, wanting just a little more.

For some reason i cant upload the videos of my food and wine tasting etc. BUT, I had an amazing fine dining experience. From the Hostess, to the gentleman who served us the bread and the unique spreads(beet spread was so delicious along with the wheat and thyme rolls). I ordered steak and a sweet red wine, which was so delicious. Everything i had was so flavorful. My cousin had the oxtail ravioli, OMG so good!. Kenisha was my waitress (I am so sorry if I spelled your name wrong). She is so sweet. Everyone was so pleasant. I loved the ambiance and the atmosphere. We sat outside, so there were plenty bugs. I had so mich fun. And the birthday song they sang had a wicked remix. I was LIT. I will definitely make a trip back here. Loved it!

My husband and I dined last month for our anniversary, and we thoroughly enjoyed our experience. Our waitress and the assistant manager were so kind; all of the staff made us feel like Sugar Mill was the best restaurant to celebrate our anniversary.

A lovely experience. Enjoyed every moment here. Service and food was top tier. This restaurant doesn’t have AC, but a more rustic British colonial open style.

Everything about this restaurant is exactly what you want for in an intimate date night. The servers are excellent and are very attentive to your every need. The food simply aligns with what's already laid out with the atmosphere and service.

It’s overrated and so expensive for a bite size serving. The atmosphere is beautiful and most of the hostess was wonderful but the server had an attitude. If you’re looking to spend over $500 for appetizers this is the place. As well as we order 4 sodas that came out to be $80 smh we was charged for water that was offered a glass of water without telling us it would cost over $11 dollars and it was a little bit in a glass. Never again

The service was impeccable, the food was great, and sitting on the outside terrace was super romantic. Nothing left to be desired here. Not cheap, but worth it.
Meike Hunter — Google review
We enjoyed the experience. Servers were excellent. Some snooty people, but easy to ignore. Drinks were extremely expensive. Main meal was excellent, but expensive. Appetizers were expensive and also not enough for even one person. Desserts were nothing special. Would think at a restaurant like this, they would be very good at the minimum. Would go back for the main meal for a special occasion.

Located in a picturesque estate with lush lawns and exotic flowers, Devon House Bakery offers delicious patties, cakes and international desserts. The bakery also offers quick and affordable service, making it a popular choice for all your Jamaican pastry needs. Try the goat patties!
It's never a bad time when you go to Devon house. So many little shops that are chock full of great things. The food in every single place was delicious and the vibe is amazing.

Delectable desserts. The presentation of each tart, cheesecake bar and other treats are immaculate. Almost too pretty to eat...almost 😊

Devon House bakery pastries are fresh & delicious, we've had their cookies (not really a big fan of those), cheesecakes, pineapple turnover, muffins, coffee strips, cakes, donuts (chocolate covered donut with sprinkles are my favorite)...but the star of the show is their curry goat patty!!! I also enjoy their beef patty too. Now I don't even like or eat goat meat🥲 but I tried this and since then I have never been the same🤣😭 It's one of my hubby's favorite, he's not crazy about curry but he loves it; it’s well seasoned, delicious, flavorful and spicy just the way we like it.

Pretty chill and relaxing location for the whole family. First time visiting and I've been vacationing here for years. Usually has a decent and consistent amount of people but not usually over packed. I ended up dropping my ice cream and a worker kindly gave me a second one free of charge so that was a plus. 10/10 would go again. Parking lot is packed but since people come and go constantly I noticed most poeple pulling up as someone is leaving.

The only plant based option is the callaloo patty. The crust was nice and flaky and the filling was seasoned well and not too spicy. Also they do not skimp on the filling. The customer service needs improvement, at the time of my visit 2 employees were behind the counter and only 1 was attending customers. So there was a wait. Seating is available outside and there are other vendors on the complex.

Just perfect! Customer service is good every time I visit. Their patties are absolutely yummy. I tried the curried goat patty for the first time. Flavor-wise, it’s a 9/10. I do think its a tad too salty. I do also enjoy their pastries and cakes! 😋

Great atmosphere in the courtyard! The food was great, we had 4 different types of patties: beef, calloloo, bbq chicken, and fish. All of them were fresh and delicious.

Delicious pastries and drinks. I loved their curry goat patty (~$900JMD) so much I went and bought another same time. The prices are above average but worth it. Definitely a nice Sunday treat 😋 for you and the family or a special someone.

It was my 1st time ever coming here and I had to leave quickly. Not because of anything bad but because there was sooooo many deliciousness in the cases. All types of cakes and pastries and CHEESECAKES!! Not to mention the patties which were hot and flaky and so good. I had 1 beef and 1 goat...yummy!! I gained 10lbs just looking at the goodies. I'll be back Devon House!!!

Beautiful setting, the remains of the old ovens and equipment can be seen in the shop. The patties are quite big, they taste excellent with a unique pastry, slightly different from the usual hence the higher price.

Another highlight on our vacation touring Around Jamaica. Devon House is definitely a must-see. Tour guides are friendly, knowledgeable, and helpful. The grounds are beautiful and well-kept. The ice cream is to die for. Known for the best ice cream on the island. An ice cream comes with your purchase tour ticket.

Devon House bakery cakes are always delicious but I didn’t enjoy this parfait. I’m a big fan of their curry goat patty! It’s well seasoned and delicious other filled with chunks of goat. Only fault was it maybe a lil too spicy this time.

This is a beautiful well maintained property. The 45 minute tour was informative and gave insight into how a millionaire and his family lived in the later part of 1800. The complimentary ice cream was almost three scoops high, sweet, coconut flavored and creamy. There was a choice from at least 10-12 flavors. Ideal for cooling down on a hot sunny day walking around the compound. Notable mention- The compound has spotty free wifi and outdoor plugs in the entrance area with the statue of George Stiebel. It’s worth a revisit to enjoy the restaurants and cafes. This visit was strictly for the tour and ice scream.
