Bottom Bay

Beaches
Bottom Bay is a serene and unassuming bay, known for its stunning blue waters and small sandy beach that is surrounded by palm trees and short cliffs. It is a much-loved nature spot for both locals and travelers alike in Barbados, due to its coral cliffs and scenic views. This remote paradise offers visitors the chance to witness sea turtles, whales, and wealthy homeowners who have built houses overlooking the ocean from its rustic coconut tree-lined shore.
Not very commercialised place in Barbados and I can honestly say that is the best hidden treasures! I love spending the whole day there and just enjoying beautiful nature and sunshine without any shops and restaurants around! If you get there before 4pm you may have a pleasure to catch the a sympathetic gentleman who sells coconut water (with some additional selection of booze) ☺️ Tip: if you came to Barbados to read a new book and you want to get very good sun tan, than this place is the perfect spot for you. Don't forget to pick some snacks and water!

One of the perfect bays in Barbados, it’s natural, quiet and relaxing bay, it has waves, we were there like 10 AM and outside of us there were 2 more couples
Ozhan Karaman — Google review
Amazing little turbulent beach. Lovely to just park, walk down and listen to the power of the ocean. Not really suitable for swimming but maybe if you're brave. There was a guy selling coconuts but unfortunately also a pile of trash (a lot of rubbish led over from coconuts).
Ros C — Google review
Amazing views. Great for a picnics and romantic walks.
Tamera Lewis — Google review
Not a bad little spot if you happen to visit Harrismith too, as you can walk to Bottom Bay from there within a matter of minutes. The views of the Bay are great if you can ignore the amount of seaweed that’s washed up.
Mark — Google review
Bottom bay should be a must do on your list. I would Recommend having a rental car for this trip. From the time you park the views are incredible. Take a small walk to the left, down a stone staircase and end up on the beach in a very cool setting, waves crashing over rock walls and a cave like structure behind you. Not a good area for swimming, but the views are worth it.
Mike Zecchino — Google review
Nice view. Nice beach but not swim able. If you go to water very careful as the waves are heavy.
Don — Google review
Do not try to swim here lol you won’t come get back on the each! Very strong waves! Great beach, very quiet, we was the only ones on it as it’s quite secluded. Very private, a few sunbeds down there, and 2 guys selling coconut drinks 🥥🌴 No toilets, or any facilities actually. But it’s perfect!
j reilly30 — Google review
What a shame about all the sargassum! This is possibly one of the most amazing beaches I have been to in my life. We had a picnic in a cave, which to our surprise, had baby sea turtle tracks heading to the ocean.
Brian E — Google review
It's beautiful and quiet. No facilities tho, good for a flying visit. There are 2 coconut bars at the top of the steps and a coconut water bar on the beach itself. The sea is rough and there was a dead Portuguese man o' war there so watch out. We got the bus, took around an hour, but while we were there there were a few folk who had come in taxis.
mandy ott — Google review
Beautiful, natural and secluded beach. You need to walk some steps to get down here, really peaceful. The waves can be wild so not the best beach for calm swimming, but perfect to relax.
Denia — Google review
I spent several Long holiday weekends at a house on top of the cliff at Bottom bay.The lack of crowds was nice. The people were very friendly and the food was great. Not to mention the Rum Mount Gay and tonic the way to Go!!

St. Nicholas Abbey and Steam Railway

Mentioned on
Heritage museum
Sights & Landmarks
The St. Nicholas Abbey Heritage Museum tells the story of Barbados from its colonial roots to the present day, with exhibits on sugar cane, slavery and abolition, and Bridgetown's history as a port town. The museum also has a steam railway that takes you through the historic town.
Another must visit attraction in Barbados. Yes a entry fee is a bit expensive, but totally worth it. The 8 year rum souvenir that I bought was a wonderful gift. It gets personally engraved. Rum lovers would love this place. You can actually see how Rum is made from scratch. The mansion itself is a heritage site. Definately a must visit...
Siddhant Mathew — Google review
I went there with my family and had such a wonderful time! The kids especially loved the train ride. If you are into history there is also an option to do a guided tour of the site. As I make gift baskets they also sell unique products that makes great gifts to include, their very own rum and some other local products like pepper sauce and jams. I just love there, the landscaping takes your breath away. They are also located right on the outskirts of our famous Cherry Tree hill, one of the most beautiful views in Barbados.
Leandra Jones All Around Barbados — Google review
Quite good but definitely more for the history buffs. I wouldn’t go out of my way to get there. I wish places were better described without needing to look at the map, also distillery itself… we didn’t know exactly where to go and what we’re looking at. It was like 30 mins before closing time but still I expected something more interactive or better described.
Micha? Brzezi?ski — Google review
If you're a fan of history, trains and rum, you have to book a visit here! Their rums are only available at the Abbey and can't be bought outside Barbados. Even the 5 year 40% rum is delicious! Had a moist and sweet rum cake snack in the café.
Johnny Dulku — Google review
If you are visiting Barbados and need a day off of the beach or away from your resort, this is worth considering. This is a nice tour of an old house and its resurrected distillery. Educational and fun with the train ride. The tour is well executed. Rum is decent quality.
Vincent Watson — Google review
This whole tour was definitely the highlight of Barbados. The train was great, beautiful views and some wildlife, and our tour guide at the abbey was fantastic. The rum tasting was also included and that was great as well. Overall is was a beautifully well-rounded tour with sights, history, and entertainment and I highly recommend it.
Sharon — Google review
Beautiful place. Well-kept house. The abbey, train, and its grounds are a fascinating piece of history in paradise. We were so glad to also find that there is an effort being made to make rum through steam powered machines! Very cool!
Brian E — Google review
For $60BBD I did the steam railway tour alone. The steam train itself was cool to see and experience a part of history however the ride itself was very short. The train ride takes you to Cherry Hill where you have a great view of the island coastline. There's a brief stop for persons to toot the horn of the steam train, take photos and help move the locomotive around. I had hoped to see more on the train but I think if you did the combo tour (great house, steam train and distillery $100 BBD) you might have seen more of the train and the property. There's a large parking area on site with bathroom, cafe and gift shop facilities. Staff are friendly and helpful. Walk ins are welcomed however bookings can be made as there are set times for tours. I arrived without reservation however I first checked online to determine if spots were available. Credit cards are accepted for payment.
Kristofer Ramkisson — Google review
10/10 a great experience. It’s nice to see the property has been maintained. I recommend doing the full package of train ride and rum tour. Lots of history even a documentary detailing the heritage of the property. There is even an opportunity to buy affordable crafts from local vendors. Also, an option to dine at a nice cafe.

Hunte's Gardens

Mentioned on
Garden
Nature & Parks
Hunte's Gardens is a picturesque garden situated in the heart of the Caribbean rainforest, featuring lush, exotic landscaped gardens. Nestled on a geological fault on the eastern side of the island, it boasts an extensive collection of vibrant and colourful plants growing over one another in the filtered sunlight. The winding paths around this 17th century-style garden lead to secluded spots surrounded by singing birds and lizards scurrying about.
Such a beautiful and enchanting garden! My husband and I visited during our honeymoon and would recommend this gem to anyone visiting Barbados. Aside from the gorgeous gardens, Anthony is such a pleasure to speak with and is very knowledgeable. We appreciate everything about this place!
Meghann Alcala — Google review
Spectacular garden Oasis in need of a few upgrades. This place is truly amazing. I loved the scale and ambiance of this place. The statues hidden among the plants were a nice touch together with the relaxing music. However, toilets were run down and so were some of the picnic areas. You are free to walk with your picnic if you wish but we thought the areas weren't food friendly enough for our liking so ate in the car. Mr Hunte is so remarkable and such a kind host and makes the experience memorable. Overall, I would recommend as a welcomed change of pace in Barbados if you had enough beach vibes and need a nice garden escape.
Joel Ramkissoon — Google review
The best place we visited in Barbados. Stunning gardens with hidden seating areas. A small paradise. The owner, Anthony, was sitting at an open terrace overlooking the gardens. Chatting, serving us with delicious lemonade and home.made carrot cake. Stunning place!
Jim Matthews — Google review
A really nice spot to go see while in Barbados. The gardens are lush and vibrant with some peaceful meditation music playing throughout. There are stairs to navigate you through the garden so if you have mobility issues this could be challenging. My 78 year old mother was able to walk through the park with plenty of railings and my arm when she needed it so it's not impossible. There is also a small gift shop where Mr Hunte himself has residence there and will greet you pleasantly. While there you can enjoy a drink of local spirits or cocktails. I would probably recommend taking a taxi there as it's a bit tricky to find and the roads going there can be challenging if you're not used to narrow winding roads and especially if you're not used to driving right hand drive cars. I highly recommend this place.
Phil Guilbeault — Google review
Just an amazing place to be. Not just because of the gardens which are superb, but also the hosting by the garden’s owner, Mr (Anthony) Hunte. It was a delight to speak with him and soak up the whole place. My favourite bench is the very last one overlooking the whole garden, very peaceful. Long way this place continue to be so superb.
Rob Smith — Google review
A beautiful lush oasis, with plenty of seats to sit and relax as you wander through the thick vegetation. Sit and watch humming birds and spot the giant millipedes and lizards as you wander around. After that sit and have a chat with the owner who is great for a story and a shot of Rum
Andrew Ballard — Google review
This was such an amazing experience. The gardens are absolutely beautiful. Anthony, the owner, has done such an amazing job to creating this enchanting botanical garden. After you relax, you can then hang out with him and have a cocktail while you listen to the birds and the wind blow through the trees.

It's always a great pleasure to visit this amazing space. Meeting the owner and chatting over a rum punch is a good way to round the visit off too. The gardens are beautiful and tranquil. Take a walk around, take a picnic and/or take a book and just chill. This was our third visit over the years and it just gets better. Hope the photos do it some justice.

Hunte Garden is stunning, simply stunning. If you love plants and nature, this place will be paradise. The owner is usually present and he's a lovely man. Definitely visit.
Kavita Basdeo — Google review
My first time visiting Hunte’s Gardens and I was extremely impressed! They are very mature gardens with well thought out spaces to relax and sit, and have a picnic even. The owner is approachable, friendly and very knowledgeable. I also like that you can purchase many local products there. A wide variety of items some that I haven’t come across readily in some places examples books on Barbados.

My Husband and I first visited in 2007 and again in 2012. On our visit in July 2023 the gardens are so spectacular, peaceful and calm. It's absolutely beautiful and well maintained.

We had beautiful walk through Huntes gardens. Peaceful and colorful atmosphere. As well had a lovely chat with Anthony Hunte. We will be back to visit next time we are in Barbados.
Alan Hicken — Google review
Gorgeous garden built in a sink hole of a collapsed cave. Besides the numerous types of flowers, plants and birds (eg. Green-throated hummingbirds), there’s also a bar where you can enjoy a drink. The garden has plenty benches every few steps so you can relax watching the nature and listening to the birds. The dining room was my favorite! It’s a must see in Barbados! Highly recommend it!
Andreea — Google review
This place is more beautiful than any botanical garden I have been to. It’s a piece of paradise. Very well taken care of, beautiful plants. The owner was very nice and welcoming. Loved the 2 cats roaming the garden.
IamSiim — Google review
This garden was absolutely stunning. My family and I were on a 10 day cruise and our taxi driver, Joe mentioned this place was one of the best in the town. I enjoyed the bromeliads and how lush and & green the trees are. 🦋🌺🌼🌴🪴
Emily Ballard — Google review
Gorgeous garden, the best l've seen yet. There are plenty of chairs around to sit and enjoy different views, and a board with all the species so you can take a picture to identify them as you explore. I enjoyed rum punch while speaking with Anthony (and different travelers) for hours until closing. What a time. Anne and Miss Marble the cat were a pleasure as well. I left with 2 bottles of Hunte's Rum, a cute mug, and a few hibiscus from Anthony for hair adornment. Put this on your itinerary when you visit, trust me!
Mariana Dovo — Google review
A must-do if you‘re on Barbados! The owner is such an incredibly humble person and it‘s just amazing to listen to his stories. The garden is its own paradise within the paradise of Barbados and you calm down immediately after you enter.
Michael J. — Google review
These are beautiful gardens! It was so relaxing and peaceful to walk around looking at all the beautiful plants. The water features and statues were lovely as well. My mom and I visited the gardens a few years ago while on vacation. I know both my mom and I would love to visit again. This was definitely one of the highlights of the trip.
Carina Jahn — Google review
I felt as though I was in another world wondering around the beautiful gardens with the sound of classical music in the back ground. Definitely a not to be missed experience. My only critique was of the rum punches which tasted as though there was no rum in them. Maybe an honest mistake.

Simply stunning! A must-see garden and visitor cottage that evoke relaxation and wonder. Met the charming Mr. Hunte while enjoying a rum cocktail and delicious cake! So fun!

The bay Carlisle Bay is a beautiful crescent-shaped beach situated on the west coast of Barbados. It has calm waters which make it perfect for swimming and is home to a marine park with relics such as anchors and cannonballs.
This place is absolutely amazing some people are saying this is Caribbean number one beach. There are many bars and restaurants on this beach with decent prices. You can find trips to swim with turtles and also other trips around the island or taxis to different beaches. The water on this beach it’s very clear and has a beautiful colour. Also if you like water sports you can find many activities on this beach.

Lovely beach with snorkeling to see shipwrecks and turtles.
Debbie Brown — Google review
Lovely stretch of sandy beach and clear water, perfect for swimming and sunbathing.
Katie Seales — Google review
Probably one of the best beach places to be on Barbados. Not to crowded in the middle. There you should also go. Don't go on right or left side. Beach lounger incl an umbrella was 15$. So fair pricing. Do not pay 5$ for one coconut but say you want two. Guys might walk away but will come back. 5$ is way to much and they know it🙂

BEAUTIFUL beach! Crystal clear and calm waters. Plenty of beach chairs to rent.
Katie O. — Google review
Beautiful white sand bay with crystal clear calm water which was perfect for the kids to swim and snorkel. We were approached by one of the beach vendors who was keen for us to go on his boat to see the turtles and ship wreck, he was friendly and not pushy about it, so we went and had a fabulous time - saw three turtles and snorkelling over the wrecks was amazing - so many beautiful fish, and the wrecks are so shallow you can see so much. They provided the snorkels. Most places along the beach if you pay for a sun lounger will also have wifi available which was also helpful for us.
Robyn Wiles — Google review
Beautiful beach and clear water. Sunbeds are reasonable if you need them, but a public beach
Rachel Field — Google review
Lovely clean sand and plenty of sun beds and umbrellas to hire. Bars and cafes behind and service at your sun bed, decadent but rather nice. Close to Bridgetown too, so if you arrive by cruise ship and only have a couple of hours to spare, then this would be ideal
Peter Hamblysmith — Google review
Tbh I preferred pebbles beach in lots of ways.. Carlisle was busy when we went on our boat trip, early on Sunday morning after the horses it was quiet but so quiet that the bars and amenities didn't even seem to be noticeable..this would have been about 9:30/10am Sunday.. even tho we'd made our own way to pebbles earlier in the week I'd used Google to direct me as there was a quicker route from our accommodation tho it (as it does often) landed me on Carlisle beach rather than pebbles as requested.. There were a few families there early and it was obvious that some congregated there but as a tourist having a wander and enjoying the surroundings, I definitely prefer pebbles over Carlisle.. I'm rubbish and failed to see any fishes or anything else tho my daughter had spotted flying fish on our last visit and there were several fishing as I walked past
Esther — Google review
Beautiful beach. Be careful not to be ripped off by the snorkel tour guys- haggle with them! But nice opportunity to see the shipwreck and turtles. Savvy on the Bay is a great spot to get a drink, have some tacos and take a break from the sun.
Stephanie Lowenthal — Google review
Fine white sand, awesome warm blue ocean, grills cooking and drinks flowing up behind the beach. Laid back vibe, good time.
Brian Perkins — Google review
Nice beach. Lots of activities to engage in. I wanted to get on a boat ride but i unfortunately couldn’t due to time and some other factors. You get too see local around you can have chats with and ask for directions. Water is crystal clear too!

Beautiful beach can get a bit busy but awesome the water is lovely

WOW effect!! expecially if you love free diving and snorkeling... There are 3 different shipwrecks less than 100m from the beach. You can easily find them looking where are all the people from organized tours. If you are able to take deep breath, take it and enjoy the inside of shipwreck!! there're a lot of in&out passages

Absolutely amazing, tranquil & lush gardens. Every corner you round has a new spectacular view. Loads of interesting facts and tidbits along the route. Well worth a visit if you want to escape the everyday hustle and bustle. The many benches provide excellent resting spots where you can just take in the views. Can easily spend 2 hours there.

Visited in Nov 22 and absolutely loved the place. The plants are spectacular and it's a place that allows your mind to be set free as you stumble into new secret areas. If I lived here I'd never leave. Sharon was a great host and funnily we bumped into her on the plane over and then in a restaurant in Holetown. Small world. It's definitely worth going over to this side of the island. Absolutely beautiful scenery. Can't recommend enough and when we go back will definitely pay another visit.

Andromeda Botanic Gardens was an absolutely wonderful way to spend and afternoon. From the beautiful walk through the gardens, with plaques and an app describing the flora, to the amazing history behind the gardens. Speaking to the team behind these gardens was delightful and finishing it off sitting having a ginger, turmeric lemonade on the deck was the perfect way to spend the afternoon. Well worth the visit.

Beautiful garden. We spent 2 1/2 hours here and could have spent more. Andromeda Gardens should be very high on a must see list.
Bryan Wattenbarger — Google review
Took a day trip to Bathsheba and decided to check out these gardens. It was well worth the walk up the hill! My Fiance and I spent almost 2 hours walking around these gardens. Had the whole place to ourselves too, the grounds are huge and so much to look at. Saw an amazing amount of lizards, butterflies, and some hummingbirds too! After the garden we got lunch at the small restaurant there. It was one of the best meals we had on our trip! Everything is handmade there on site. Very friendly staff and great service. The food and drinks were incredible. This place is a definite must see if you are on this side of the island!

This is a wonderful garden, which I highly recommend you visit. Sharon works tirelessly to maintain Iris Bannochie’s personal garden and it is a real pleasure to walk around. We spent three hours there as there was so much to see, and the online guide to the plants was very helpful. We were able to get there easily by no.6 bus from Bridgetown. Really enjoyed our visit.

Such a beautiful place! Giant trees, cool plants, cute monkeys, the garden smells so fruity…I can come here everyday. One ticket is valid for 30 days, so just like the staff told me I should come here at the beginning of my trip, so I can come back as many time as I want.

Amazing! For us was a fantastic day, maybe because the garden wasn't busy as well! Great place, I suggest to spend at least 1 h for visit the gardens!

We visited here today whilst we had a hire car. It was easy to find with Google maps and also well signposted. The big shout out goes to the young man who greeted us and explains about the gardens. Very polite and professional and knowledgeable. I'm only sorry I didn't get his name. The gardens are beautiful with so many plants you could spend hours here. There are washrooms 🚻 and also a small garden kitchen for refreshments. Plenty of parking too. We are National Trust members back in England and as such we got a 50% reduction in entry fee too

If you love a garden, this will be a treat! Went off season during the week and shared the garden only with monkeys, butterflies and hummingbirds. It was beautiful, peaceful and a delightful hour long stroll. There are multiple places to sit along the path to enjoy, plenty of shade, a small interesting art studio, a very nice gift shop with local products, restrooms and a little snack area. Multiple lunch spots minutes away with fantastic views make a trip out a wonderful afternoon.

We visited the gardens and it's a great little place. A beautifully laid out garden with some amazing plants, monkeys and even turtles. We never saw any turtles but we saw plenty of monkeys. The large butterflies were pretty cool too. There isn't much for the young so bare that in mind. At the end there's a great little shop to quench your thirst or hunger. Believe me it does get pretty humid here. I was grateful for the homemade lemonade.

If you're looking for a high-end dining experience with stunning views of the ocean, Champers is one of the Big Dogs on the island. The menu features plenty of luxurious options, like pan-roasted pork chops with bacon-infused cream potatoes, shrimp and fish pasta, and grilled 10oz ribeye steak. There are also a few less expensive set menus if that's more your style, but be warned: money really does go into this place!
Stunning view, excellent food and superb service. Expensive but really worth it. Highly recommended. The mains looked a bit boring so just had a range of starters which were absolutely incredible. The coconut shrimp & lobster tacos were absolutely divine. The crab crepe was just okay but still delicious. Cocktails “spicy affair” & “grind & toll” were great. It’s not cheap but definitely worth the experience. I think Table 64 was definitely one of the best.

We dined at this restaurant for my birthday. The ambiance was really nice. The staff was very friendly but my table server Shauna was exceptional. She was knowledgeable with the food and drinks menu and had a lovely personality. It is a bit pricey but it is worth every penny. The portions are good and the food is very tasty. I would highly recommend.

Really fancy restaurant with an amazing view on the ocean. We didn't have the tables closer to the ocean but it was still really worth it as you can still see the ocean. The service was excellent and the food amazing. If you wanna have a fancy dinner and get well dressed while enjoying the view of the ocean, that's the right place!

Absolutely outstanding! Celebrated our wedding anniversary there last night and it was the absolute right choice of venue for us. From before we arrived, communication was maintained. A warm welcome received upon arrival and seated at one of Champers best tables. The ambience, food and drinks were sublime. Excellent service by Erskine - nothing was too much trouble and our queries were answered. Thank you also for our anniversary menu and cake! We look forward to returning.

Highly recommend. Dress is elegant casual. You’ll need to book reservations at least 5 days in advance. We were here in February. The staff are friendly and super attentive. The food is excellent and the presentation is impeccable. It’s located high on the ocean’s edge. The views are incredible and can be enjoyed from any table. Special diets are eagerly accommodated. This is one of the best restaurants on the island and, as expected, its higher priced than surrounding restaurants but doesn’t have a huge price tag. The menus posted are in Barbadian dollars. So, half the pricing to get to USD. I recommend the Barracuda!

I cannot recommend this place enough, was recommend by multiple people when booking my trip. The restaurant and views are incredible, the attention to detail from the staff is sublime. The food is incredible from starters, mains and dessert it certainly ticked off the boxes. I would recommend booking early if you are after a particular table. Sunset views are stunning! Will be visiting again on my next trip for sure. Thanks to the team for their great hospitality.

This restaurant was beyond our expectations. The staffs was exceptional and from the moment we arrived they made us feel very special. If you where celebrating a special occasion they took the time out to incorporate it on the menu and also provide a nice candle. Food was delicious. We appreciated the fact that there was a diabetic option for dessert. The view was fabulous despite the rain. I highly recommend if traveling to Barbados to visit this restaurant. You will not be disappointed.

Really very good, I understand why people have nothing but positive things to say about it. My only very minor point might be that more fans would help, wasn't too bad when we were there but any warmer and I think it'd have impacted the experience. If you're on the island then I'd highly recommend coming here, well worth it, everything is spot on from the welcome on arrival until you leave. Also nice personal touches if you're celebrating 👌

The coconut pie is the best pie I've ever had. This visit was worth it solely for that dessert. Pure bliss in every bite for a big fan of coconut. The barracuda shrimp & pasta was perfect as well. The mix of flavors was lovely with the fresh shrimp. The passion fruit drink was also awesome!

This place came recommended to us by several people. It was just amazing. The food is delicious. We had the flying fish and the shrimp curry. Both were absolutely delicious. My husband and I would like to thank all the staff, for such an incredible evening at Champers. The whole experience, from booking the reservation, dining, table service was all second to none. Food and cocktails were outstanding. The personal touches with the personalised menu, table decorations and birthday cake; was a wonderful surprise for my husband and will certainly be remembered. We will definitely be returning and will be highly recommending Champers Restaurant, to our family and friends, when they visit Barbados. Thanks again Jackie and Jason England UK

Wonderful place - great location, tasteful decor, lovely food and professional staff. Fabulous place to dine after dark with the waves crashing below and even a sudden downpour didn't dampen proceedings with the awning pulled across in seconds like a well drilled military operation. Definitely one of the highlights of our stay so far, and would come again.

What a great experience! Came without reservation but they found us a nice spot in the corner. Food was excellent (the coconut cake is to die for!), staff really friendly & the location great with beautiful sunset views.

View breathtaking. The service made me feel l was a celebrity they want to return. Food was excellent. I could have just had the starter dessert a drink and that would have been enough as portions were generous. It's not cheap, but I'd still go back and recommend to friends and family.

This was truly an amazing experience. We celebrate our second year anniversary. The restaurant celebrated us by adding special touches to our dining experience. We love the personalized menu as well as the table decor. The front desk staff welcomed us and gave warm happy anniversary wishes. Everything was perfect. The ambience was beautiful. The service was excellent. The food was extremely delicious. Our server Shonte was very attentive, knowledgeable and friendly. This was truly a beautiful experience

This restaurant is perfection! All the staff including the gatesman were so welcoming and polite. We attended for a birthday and they personalised the menus and decorated the table which was such a lovely gesture. The food was brought out quickly and hot. I highly recommend the lobster tacos for starters. I had the lamb for mains which was perfectly medium as requested. The star of the show was the coconut pie! I will definitely revisit in a heartbeat! Small suggestion - book just before the sunsets 👌🏾

ABSOLUTELY FABULOUS. Our favorite restaurant on Barbados. Starters are large enough to be small dinners. Good broad range of options. Wine list is extensive and well chosen. Also a gorgeous art gallery upstairs in which you can buy the art. Beautiful seating outside and the views are stunning.

We went here for our wedding dinner after getting some recommendations from the locals. We got the table by the sea, the service was very nice, and the food was amazing, we have zero complaint. Best restaurant in the island.

Seafood restaurant
If you're looking for some of the best seafood on the island, then head to Fish Pot. This restaurant is located up north on the west coast, and specialises in seafood dishes such as tuna. If you're lucky enough to get a seat on the outdoor veranda, you'll be able to enjoy the sounds of the ocean while you feast your eyes and stomach on some of the best seafood around.
Amazing view, perfect for sunset views. The fresh seafood was delicious & cooked to perfection! The 3 course set price meal is good value but its still a bit more expensive than other restaurants on the island, however the standard of the food makes it definitely worth it. Service was also fantastic. I would definitely go again, & 1000% recommend.
Lisa — Google review
The food was good and the view was excellent. I would have liked it more if the service was a bit quicker. We spent 2.5 hours at this restaurant. We are accustomed to being in and out of restaurants in 1.5 hours. Luckily, we didn't have anywhere we had to be, but sitting and waiting for half an hour before getting at least drink or appetizer orders from us is a bit much.

Great food and great service. The owner was exceptionally welcoming of our 6 month old baby. The lobster was fresh and delicious; but lemme mention the starter BEST JUMBO SHRIMP ever! So happy we managed to get a table.

Excellent seafood and very good service. Walked in without a reservation and they sat me even though they are full that day. But they squeezed me in, very 👍. But please make reservations. I had the grill octopus and market fish and also the spicy fish sandwich. Everything was cooked perfectly with beautiful plating. The view and Vibe of the restaurant were all very relaxed. You can also use the free beach lounge chair after, but it's first come first serve. We love it here!

Beautiful restaurant, Lovely food and great views over the beach and sunset. Can get a funny smell coming off the beach at times. Try sitting to the left as you go in - that may be better. Definitely worth a visit - the owner will take care of you.

The food is delicious. They have the best creme brûlée I ever had. Staff is very nice and attentive. They had a guy playing live music on the guitar so the ambiance was very nice. Beautiful view to the sea. One of the best restaurants I tried in Barbados

What is not to like about the Fish pot great location . Fantastic attentive staff. Good choice of food. Amazing to watch the sunset with a Bottle of Rum Punch & listen to the waves crashing on the shore. We have Been coming here for a few years now & love it & Friday nights Guitar playing with Charles truly a very talented man & a great guy 😊

We came here for dinner and have a lovely time. We arrived about half an hour prior to our booking time to have some cocktails on the deck. The staff were so welcoming and attentive. We shared the prawns, soft shell crab and calamari for starters. The highlight for us were the mains - the shellfish broil and the cioppino. So much flavour and definitely recommend if you love seafood. The sticky toffee pudding with rum was delicious but could have used a bit more sauce.

Great little spot for a meal in an inviting atmosphere. Sunsets with an early dinner or evening drinks here are a must! The tuna tartare and grilled octopus are particularly good, as is the spicy lobster risotto.

We hit the place, because of the boutique dive shop located on the front of the restaurant. Damn, the food was good and the team ready to make sure you have good time. We wreck the place after dinner to keep up on our diving story. The owner helped us to be honest. The fish is so good there. Bonus point, the floating private deck in front of the restaurant… when weaves show up, it became a fun attraction. Cheers

Have been in Barbados since Saturday and had lot of food around the island. And by far this is the best tasting food and the most amazing view we had at a restaurant. I think nothing will come close to it. The general manager Paul is also an amazing individual and happy to get to know him. Today is Tuesday by the way.
Yucel Fakioglu — Google review
The food was just amazing, I can recommend the tuna tartar and the truffle wedges, they were so creamy on the inside. The scallop linguine was also incredible. Service was just top and the atmosphere was so wonderful. We went to eat at sunset which I can only recommend. There was a guy with a guitar who really added to the whole experience. It was on the expensive side but we were happy to pay for such a dinner.

We had a wonderful sunset dinner experience at Fish Pot. The restaurant is situated right next to the ocean and the beachside tables feel like you're above the sand. A semi-private table in the restaurant was perfect for our group of 8 + 1 toddler while still getting the full experience of the restaurant/location. Spectacular views, incredible food and truly kind, patient, helpful and punctual staff. It was great of the manager Paul to stop by for a chat as well - a very nice personal touch and you can tell he truly cares for his buisness. Can't go wrong with anything on the menu and there are lots of options for all types of palates. They take care to ensure any allergies are addressed as well. A must-stop in Barbados!

Lovely place on the North End of the island. We go there to dive (Scott - Barbados Scuba) and our experiences there always end with lunch at The Fish Pot. Oistins Fish Market is a must-visit attraction in Barbados, offering a lively market with delicious food and dancing. The island's dining scene ranges from local BBQ at Oistins Fish Fry to world-class gastronomic offerings. There are also restaurants with a vegan and wellness focus, as well as mid-casual options by the water. For fine dining enthusiasts, there are luxurious locales that will impress even the most seasoned travelers.
If you like eating fish then this is the place to come. The market itself is interesting in its own right but the choice of food is the real draw. It’s down to earth market food and the prices are very affordable.

A must visit when in Barbados. We went to Mo’s and had barracuda, shrimps, coleslaw and the local mac&cheese pie. I would skip the shrimps as in general fish is much tastier in the island. Music is loud but it’s a really fun atmosphere!

Visited Uncle George's for an evening meal. As always, food was excellent 10/10, customer service very pleasant, from order to being served minimal wait. Daughter had Marlin fish with grilled potatoes, I had shrimps, mac pie and grilled garlic potatoes. 5*

This is a very popular place on a Friday night. The fish is fantastic, I'm not a big fan of fish but the way they cook it tastes great, I even tried Marlin and kingfish, so tasty. Party time if you want it music and dancing outside, great atmosphere.

Loud music but plenty of places to eat. Grab a chair and try to get served. It's great chaos, but a decent, must do, night out. Fine for kids and very safe. Parking just across the road. Cheap beer
Wayne Brown — Google review
A very lively place. The music 🎶 is varied from different platforms. The centre stage has some tribute acts, loved the three Michael Jackson impersonators and of course the Black Panther 'Wakanda' dancer. This is full of energy and so it is just as well that there is plenty of fish 🐟 and chicken 🐔 and other foods cooking 🍳 so you are not hungry. We had a bite at a small restaurant called Good Eats and my o my that red snapper was worth every bite. Part of the walking around requires you buy a souvenir or two or three. There are various curio and crafts around but could be a bit pricey.
Clement Katulushi — Google review
We did the fish fry at the market. A must if you're in Barbados but it's extra on Fridays, very busy with lines down the street and lots of music. Right beside a beautiful beach. We went to grab a seat and there was a chicken in my seat and a cat in the other 😂 so the fish fry feeds all!

Friday nights are amazing! Fresh fish cleaned and grilled stating early in the day and into the night. Sides like macaroni pie, steamed vegetables, slaw and much more. Also chicken and pork.

Nishi is a gastropub in Holetown that is well known for its sushi and outdoor dining area. The head sushi chef has years of experience in some of the top restaurants in Miami and New York, as well as working at the Shangri-La Hotel in Indonesia. Second Street is where Nishi resides, and it's a popular spot for locals and tourists to dine.
Absolutely DELICIOUS! The flavours of the food were incredible and the cocktails were great. The waitress was fabulous and always really helpful. There were two kitchens, one with Indonesian sushi chefs and the other with Bajen chefs. Wonderful restaurant with a lovely atmosphere!

So far the best sushi on the island. Service was great and the team there is very attentive. Food was very flavourful. I had the soup and a roll, very filling. I love desert so I took that to go. Must try, it's just so expensive.
Keniel L — Google review
A great venue with an expensive but cosy feel. The service was friendly but in my opinion could be better. 4 of us were sat on the first floor close to the chefs working the Sushi bar - which was fun to watch. We arrived early (around 18:00hrs) as we were still lagging with UK time difference and the restaurant was empty upstairs. In general the food was VERY delicious with a few exceptions - for me the Ceviche starter was tasteless, which was a real shame as I had some great expectations of this dish based on the menu write-up and the description given by the waitress when requested... and this is the thing. It would have been really good if the waitress had taken a little longer to explain the dishes we were interested in, in a little more detail - especially as we were the only occupied table on the floor at the time. Another example was the Dim Sum basket; we had no idea it was coming with a little bit of everything from dumplings to Bao buns which was fantastic, and again very tasty and the experience could have been enhanced with a simple elaboration on the dish by the waitress at the time. We also ordered the Child Beef, Dynamite Spider Roll, Thai Curry and a kids meal - all very delicious indeed. Along with all this scrumptious food I also ordered a carafe of Diamond Sake and asked to have it served warm - it arrived close to boiling and when I picked it up to pour I had to drop it as it was too hot to handle... I asked the waitress for a napkin so I could pour the sake and explained I had dropped it (and spilt a fair amount of that liquid gold on the table) - I received my napkin along with a warning that the sake was hot! - Better late than never I guess lol. No effort was made to top-up my sake, I guess I could have asked. The Diamond Sake was actually very agreeable considering it had been boiled - I wonder what it might have been like without the over-eager preparation? For the 4 of us (3 adults, 1 kid) the total bill was $603 In summary Nishi serves up delicious food, is a great location with good customer care. It wouldn't take much to make this a 5-star venue (again, in my opinion) with a little more explanation on the dishes and a little more awareness of the customers needs/concerns. We look forward to eating there again soon.

Beautiful restaurant with a cute warm vibe! The staff is warm and welcoming; A special thank you to Shamika because she went above and beyond and that girl deserves a raise! (To me good customer service is just as important as the food quality) The food tasted fresh, they had a lot of great selections, I’m a huge fan of the Sichuan ribs it was absolutely delicious and I’m gonna come back to try more of their menu. This is definitely one of my fav restaurants in the area. Highly recommend.

Lovely meal. Starters ribs beautiful and calamari as expected very nice 😊 Lamb chops main was exceptional. Prawn linguine was very nice but flavour wise was nowhere as good as Rustic Chef which was much cheaper. All in all a very nice experience but not cheap Service was very good too.

I went to watch a movie at limegrove but since it was shut, I decided to have a nice little dinner here. The hostess sat me in a cozy little corner which suited me fine, as I was dining alone. Service was prompt and friendly. I ordered the tuna cervice as an appetizer but it was more like sashimi than cervice. Was not a fan and when they asked how everything was, I told them as much. To my surprise, they removed it from the bill. That alone would make me dine here again. Excellent service. I ordered the green Thai shrimp curry as my main and it was amazing. Seriously some of the best green curry I've had on the island. Overall, a very pleasant dinner. A bit pricey but worth it in my opinion.

The Tides Barbados is a fine dining restaurant with stunning views of the water and Boardwalk. The restaurant is popular for its exotic cuisine, which is created by the islands best chefs. The atmosphere of the restaurant is classy and modern, perfect for a romantic dinner or special occasion.
Firstly the service is great. Massive thank you to Neil who greets you at the door. We have a toddler and a push chair and he was ever so helpful. Nothing was too much. The restaurant is decorated beautifully in and out. Make sure you book early to get the best table. We had a water front table and the sunset is gorgeous. I had a surf and turf and my wife had the lobster. Both we were very delicious. The place is fairly priced considering location, setting and customer service. We were served by a guy called Jaron who was very attentive and friendly. Great work. See you soon

My husband took me here for my birthday dinner. The food was outstanding. So delicious. The staff were very friendly and knowledgeable. The cocktails were very nice. A good choice of foods for different dietary requirements. My meals were adjusted due to an allergy and it was a seamless service. Great place eat and beautiful views from the broad walk

The restaurant has a fantastic view and delicious drinks. Get ready to enjoy a ton of local flavors. But like many islands the service is incredibly slow. I had the lobster and risotto balls as well as the coconut shrimp. Everything was good but the dipping sauce for the shrimp. My friends did the curry and the flying fish tacos. They loved it. I’d definitely go back, but only if I have a couple hours for a meal.

Amazing customer service, live music was fabulous, such gracious, kind and accommodating staff. I can’t wait to come back again. Fold was splendid. I had the lamb perfectly cooked at medium and my friend had the seared sea bass, also good. The drinks were on point. Reservation needed, even though we walked in and were seated ASAP bc I’m preggo 😁. Otherwise, respect the reservation policy. Such a wonderful ambiance right on the water. In between the live music, you hear the ocean crashing on the rocks. Just a super classy and perfect choice for dinner. Not too expensive either!

The main thing affected the rating is exceptional customer service! Staff is very friendly and professional, we felt so welcomed! Sides to the main dishes were good, steak was alright but could be better. Calamari were over cooked. Interior design is nice and washrooms are clean. Since it’s open area with no windows, evenings get very humid and hot

Initially put in a room with a wedding party that was loud and enjoying their own celebration. Very pleasant staff checked in and when I mentioned the noise offered to move us. Not sure why we were out there in the first place, but the situation was remedied very quickly and exceptionally well. Ribs for starter were amazing, and the pork for main was good. The pork was a little rich after a while and the portion was too large.

This may be the best restaurant on the island. The food was fantastic. The service was incredible in the atmosphere was spot on. The restaurant is right on the water and the views were breathtaking. What a delight. We visited with kids, and the menu for kids was good (not always the case with nicer places like this). My wife and I really enjoyed our food and drinks. I chose the barracuda (catch of the day) which was excellent as was the lobster risotto balls to start. My wife enjoyed the Thai curry. I enjoyed the cocktails especially the waiter recommended aquatic rapture. Service was superb and food appeared quickly (also good for kids!). Thoroughly recommended

We were sceptical about dining here after reading a couple reviews about being being rushed etc. our experience was quite opposite to this. The views are beautiful with panoramic views of the ocean. We arrived early for our reservation so sat and had a few drinks by the bar before someone came to get us when our table was ready. The bar staff were super friendly, good laughs, and answered a questions. Food was fresh, well presented, and flavourful - we got a second helping of the lobster risotto balls! The steak frittes from the specials menu was also a particular hit. Service was great. We were well looked after, and the suggested wine choice was spot on. Because it was Easter we each got a little cute box of mini chocolate eggs to part with which was a nice touch. In all, was a great Easter Sunday. Will be back, thank you!

What a fantastic experience ! We really only wanted to dine in two special restaurants on the island, obviously Tides came out on top but they do it in such a understated way, you are made to feel appreciated from the minute you step out of your car, valet’s are professional but still personable from there the array of staff on hand is astounding , so subtly watching to make sure your are made to feel at ease whilst at reception, being seated in the bar, and escorted through to the dining area, this level of service has been tweaked to perfection and it continues throughout your visit. Food for us was out of this world and we will return on our next trip to the island, don’t be put off if you think it’s a little more expensive than some other fine dining, it’s worth every BBD.
