Dominica

Dominica is a mountainous Caribbean island nation with natural hot springs and tropical rainforests. Morne Trois Pitons National Park is home to the volcanically heated, steam-covered Boiling Lake. The park also encompasses sulphur vents, the 65m-tall Trafalgar Falls and narrow Titou Gorge. To the west is Dominica’s capital, Roseau, with colorful timber houses and botanic gardens.

Trafalgar Falls

Waterfalls
Trafalgar Falls is a popular tourist destination located just outside of Roseau. These famous twin waterfalls, known as Father and Mother falls, are easily accessible via a short 0.4-mile trail from the visitor center at Papillote Wilderness Retreat. Visitors can enjoy full views of these side-by-side falls from a platform, with the 125ft Father fall on the left and the 75ft Mother fall on the right.
Another beautiful spot! A must-see in Dominica! Easy and short hike (shorter than in Emerald Pool), and you can bring normal tennis or hiking shoes.

Pics dont do it justice. Breathtaking, easy to get to with lots of parking. if your on Dominica, Go!

Very lovely falls and was almost deserted when I visited in early October. Small souvenirs sold at the entrance and a steep road getting up there. Lots of parking. A few minutes walk down a marked path was very easy to follow and leads to a viewing platform. The falls are gorgeous, though it seemed too rocky to swim or get into the water. Believe a rock slide buried the pools and baths that used to be at the bottom. Still worth a quick visit. Very peaceful and majestic.

What is better than two falls for the price of one? Nothing. Amazing views. Need a site pass if you're not local

Trafalagar Falls was my favorite waterfall on the island. Getting to see a side by side waterfalls that were both unique was really fun. The hike to falls was easy enough and a really nicely maintained path. Once you get down to the falls you can go explore out of the rocks and you get to see so much more! So many little pools and streams are hidden amongst the rocks, I really suggest it. There were guides that you could hire to take you to the pool of the actual falls. We didn't realize that til we were already out farther exploring and saw them coming down or we would have tried that too. But you can still make your own little adventure between the falls. The view of the valley is pretty stunning too! Just wear appropriate shoes. The rocks in places were slippery!

Awesome tourist location, but be careful climbing the rocks though. Some of the rock are slippery some are sharp and you will definitely regret falling.

Five minute walk to the falls up hill. Not hard and worth the effort, beautiful falls and great view of the massive jungle surrounding the waterfalls.
Bill Wilson — Google review
Beautiful falls with a tiny pool that you can dip your feet into. Some tried to swim but the water level was very low. Even without proper rain in a bit, the falls were beautiful. The walk is maybe 10 minutes or less, and it's paved and not slippery, but there are a few steps. It's perfectly manageable for the majority of folks, and I walked in sandals which were perfectly comfortable. The entrance building has a small bar with drinks, bathrooms, and a room with signs about geology and wildlife. We came here as part of a tour.

So beautiful! The walk from the parking lot is about 10 minutes.
Yannick Lemay — Google review
A great experience for people of all types. When you arrive there is an easy 10 minute walk to view the falls. For those who are more adventurous and fit, you can climb higher and actually enjoy to water and the falls up close.
Haven Jimerson — Google review
Beautiful twin waterfalls. The path is made well but it is a gradual but long climb with steps. Take your time and enjoy the view from the platform at the end. It will get busy.
Damien Calvert — Google review
Beautiful place to see. For an extra 20ec dollars per person, you can have a guide to help you navigate trafalgar falls if you want to get into the water that is.

The twin waterfalls at Trafalgar Falls near Roseau, Dominica, consist of long skinny Papa Falls and short plump Mama Falls. Papa Falls plunges 38 meters into a deep gorge while Mama Falls is 23 meters high. Trafalgar is the most popular of the 12 larger waterfalls on Dominica and the viewing platform is often crowded as it's just a 10-minute stroll from the ticket office. The rules and regulations of the park are spelled out on a signboard at the entrance to the park.
David Stanley — Google review
Beautiful site. Take your water shoes and protection for your phone if you want to climb the rocks towards the basin. Papa is the fall on the left and Mama on the right. Based upon other reviews I started to climb by myself up the rocks and got pretty far. However, I'm 58 and although I think I'm in pretty good shape. A guide named Golden (23 yrs old) came and helped me. It was well worth it (your discretion on tip--I gave him 50 XCD) as he knew all the spots and was very helpful and mindful of all the hazards. Trail starts up the left side. Kind of hidden of course. It was a great experience especially at the top where the warm geothermal water and the cool river water mix.

Batibou Beach

Beaches
Batibou Beach is a renowned attraction in Dominica that tourists should not miss. Situated on the northeast coast of the island near Calibishie, this beautiful crescent-shaped beach boasts white sand and stunning views of the Atlantic Ocean. Visitors can enjoy great opportunities for swimming amidst coconut and palm trees for shade.
One of the best culinary experiences in Dominica. The Batibou beach is beautiful with few visitors especially in the morning. You have to pay a 5 US$ per person entrance fee which is used for cleaning the beach and maintenance (the area is private land). Around midday they open the grill bar where they prepare on the spot some awsome rich tasting food (be prepared for some wait preparation time). Don't miss out the homemade ice-cream!
George Dan Miron — Google review
A beautiful beach and incredibly well maintained. Sadly the land owners with whom you pay the entrance fee have an awful reputation and have tarnished Dominica's excellent tourism reputation with aggressive and threatening behaviour. Read Facebook and other posts to find out more. Stay safe, avoid and support other local beaches.
Vinnie Morgan — Google review
With a 4x4 you could drive down to the beach. But alternatively park at the top and simply walk down. 15 mins at most and you can count the lizards! Beautiful beach, deserted when we visited
Peter Buckland Merrett — Google review
This is a beautiful beach and you can drive down if you have a off road capable vehicle. It's $5 each for the day. I loved the cheeky sisters beach BBQ and cocktails. They may not rock up until after 12 but lovely mix of food with smoky baby ribs or fish is worth waiting for. Thank you ladies 😊
Stephen Pitcher — Google review
First of all ,for those who cant read very long, here’s what your gonna get at Batibou; the best beach on Dominica island and # 14 in the top 16 best beaches in the Caribbean according to Explorers Away. Batibou beach is a pristine wilderness paradise. You’ll also get the best food on the island (by far!). In comparison, my gf and I have been all around the island and the meals we’ve enjoyed at Batibou beach were divine. Prepared fresh and with passion by culinary cher Irma in the kitchen and drinks locally brewed and served cold by Jacqueline. These two sisters show up every day at tiki bar for customers. Hint, lunch is served from 2-6pm. When you pay your entrance fee, advise admission you want to eat, you must reserve same day but early enough so that the kitchen can prepare portions accordingly. To get to Batibou beach you can take the 10 min hike down or drive your 4x4 if you have off road skills. When we left the beach at sunset, the trail leading back up to our rental car was filled with thousands of fireflies. A scene right out of Avatar and an unforgettable moment. This probably depends on time of year, for us was early April. For those that can read a bit further, here’s why its still wild and beautiful. Its a private land owned by conservationists. Yes you will have to pay 5 American dollars to spend the day there. You know why? To maintain the place and keep it wild. Irma and Jacqueline ( two of the owners of the land) are fighting to keep the place unspoiled. Private investors and the local government would gladly pour concrete all over this place and build a giant resort if they could. But like spartan warriors holding the hot gates, they resist selling to keep the raw beauty of this place. To me the value of a country and its people is not only what they create and export, but mostly what they refuse to destroy. I strongly think that the government of Dominica and the locals have a lot to learn from Irma and Jacqueline. If they destroy the natural beauty of Dominica, they will destroy the long term value of the island forever. Travellers go to the island for its nature. This country can easily become the next Costa Rica if tourism and development is managed correctly. Otherwise, it will just become another polluted tourist destination. I love this place and i hope i can return many years from now and see that the essence and spirit of the place is still intact. Like they say ; take only memories , leave only footsteps. Enjoy!
Gabriel Brisson-Ouellette — Google review
The most beautiful beach I have ever been too!!!!! The restaurant and bar were never open. It's a $5 American dollar charge per person. If you park at the top it's about a 15min walk on rocks or if your car can make it down I recommend that. They have a shower and the toilets were pretty nasty.
Nina — Google review
This is just a really nice beach. When I went there was not any food there, just an attendant that would crack open a coconut for you to drink. You must walk about a mile down a dirt road or have a vehicle that can handle the drive.
Daniel Massey — Google review
This beach is really beautiful. It's a long walk down, we had a 4x4 so drove down but it's a scary drive, not for the faint hearted. We paid for something to eat on our first visit. Rip off!! Not from the ladies, they weren't there but from a chap on the right hand side of the beach. You pay to park. Worth it. Highly recommend this beach.
Julie Campbell — Google review
Wow! We came to Batibou expecting to only spend an hour here before going to a restaurant to eat. We ended up staying for 5 hours. A short drive down a rough 4x4 road allows you to park right on the beach. The clearly marked fee of $5 usd can be paid to the security people where you park. They provide a rundown of safety considerations like where to swim, and to avoid falling coconuts. Apparently it was a super busy day on Easter Sunday so we shared the beach with about 12 other people LOL. How is this beach so uncrowded? The people maintaining the beach and the women working the beach bar are all super friendly, and they do a great job maintaining the beach. Incredible beach, I'm not sure it can get much better. Clear water, great sand, shady palm trees. To top it all off, the food is good too. They cook using a coconut husk fire, which provides the ribs, fish, and pork with a great sweet Smokey flavor. It's served on wooden plates and banana leaves. They also have a good selection of drinks and rum concoctions. This was a great way to spend our last full day in Dominica.
Scott Roberts — Google review
Beautiful beach with an awesome meal ! You can access by car to the front, don’t need to park your car on the top of the hill. The access of the beach is about 13 EC per pers because is a private territory, but believe be, it worth it ! You can eat on the beach, freely with your own food or at the restaurant of the beach.
Mathilde DURAND — Google review
In my opinion, this is the nicest beach on the island. It's secluded, with crystal clear clam water and a palm trees shade the beach. A few things to note. It costs $5 per person to access the road to go to the beach, you can drive down or you can walk, but you might as well drive since you have to pay regardless. Like most Caribbean island beaches at the moment, Batibou is covered in sargassum, no big deal, you just need to hop over it to get into the water. One issue though, is there is some still flowing in the water and small jellyfish like organisms do live in them so you may feel a light sting or two while you swim but its harmless and honestly, the beach is worth it.

Kalinago Barana Aute

Mentioned on
Cultural center
The Kalinago Barana Aute, situated on the Crayfish River close to Isukulati Falls, is a reconstructed traditional village that provides an insight into the culture and history of the Kalinago people. During a 30-45 minute tour, visitors can witness locals demonstrating various crafts such as basket weaving, canoe making and cassava baking in different huts. One of the architectural highlights is the Karbet (men's house) which hosts cultural presentations and dances.
Fascinating visit to learn about this culture and also see the beautiful scenery in the area.

Great attraction. Arrange for a ritual bath with the local shaman to cleanse your spirit & reset. And be sure to buy some of the authentic, Kalinago craft available.

The small museum is informative. The rest of the grounds are beautiful but their historic nor current uses explained. Feels like a community center pavilion and some picnic facilities. Still, the entrance fee feels like it goes to a good cause. There are also a couple of shops selling nice hand made crafts.

Quite disappointing. The place is nice but very small. It didn't take us more than 30 minutes (taking our time) to see the whole site. Definitely not worth $10/person (Dominica national park site pass not accepted).

The Kalinago, given the name Carib by the Europeans, were the first people to inhabit Dominica. We started our the tour in a room with falls covered in posters about their history. Here, we learned all about their journey getting to Dominica by an indigenous tour guide himself. He explained about their history, religion, food & way of life at this museum in the northeast coast of Dominica within the territory that is now their own. The herb garden at the museum was pretty dire compared to the lush plantation we visited on the river cruise near Prince Rupert Bay, but we got an idea of what they live on, including a special type of flour they use for making bread. However, it was the majestic scenery that caught our attention the most! 🌴🌳⛰️🛖

A great insight into how the Kalinago (Carib Indians) lived their lives back before the Caribbean was colonized. Great views of the Alantic ocean.

Boiling Lake

Mentioned on
Lake
Nature & Parks
Boiling Lake is a remarkable natural wonder located in Morne Trois Pitons National Park on the island of Dominica. It is heated by volcanic activity beneath the surface, making it dangerous and requiring a multi-hour hike to reach. The Boiling Lake Trail covers rugged terrain with steep inclines and takes about 3 hours one way. Only those who are physically fit and mentally agile should attempt this challenging trek, ideally with a qualified guide.
This hike is a knee knacker, but so worth it. 6.3 km one way with elevation gain of 598 meters, loss of 386 m. (Round trip: 12.6km) You will take lots of steps up and down. If you hike steadily and at a smooth walking pace it takes 3 hours. If you have hiking sticks, take them. Top Mourne point is exactly 4 km. Toughest section is between 4-5 km. At 5 km you will be at the sulphur river which you could have a hot water (like a hot tub!) soak on the way back. Fantastic hike!

I’ve hiked all over the world and this was my favorite ever! We arrived at 7am and reached the lake at 10. We stopped to have brunch at the lake and then stopped in a hot pool with a waterfall on the way back. Best bath/shower combo ever! The wild orchids and dense plants were full of color. The Island of Dominica is so clean, I did not need to pack water there are delicious fresh water rivers and streams all over. We reached the exit at 12:30pm and then swam up the Titou Gorge. I cannot stress enough that you MUST swim up this gorge. It is a long channel with high walls. When you reach the powerful waterfall at the end (you swim right up to it) the sunshine filter through gorgeous vines and flowers dripping down from the high sculpted smooth cliff walls. All of this & the hike is free. Free life jackets are provided. I recommend going with a guide as the boiling water can be dangerous. Nigel George of Calibishie took me and he was full of knowledge about the plants and island. He was also a lot of fun. His rates were quite low.

Incredible hike mixed terrains and beauty all around ! Not an easy hike through mud and rivers and streams .. up and down but well worth it
Kelly Hartman — Google review
Here is a few things everyone should know before heading boiling lake. Above of all you must know that it's a 10km hike and you will climb up to 800m (maybe a bit more). Though I hiked for weeks in the Manaslu National Park in Nepal and Tongariro in New Zealand, among other places in France, boiling lake is by far (for now) the hardest hike I did in my life. - A guide is recommended but not really useful as many hikers will be there when you arrive. So excepted if you're alone, I'd much recommend to be accompanied otherwise it's not necessary (and you will save some bucks). - If a guide picks you up from Roseau it should not be higher than between 75 and 80$US by person, if you're alone they might charge double (150$US). If they are charging you more, pass your way and find someone else or negotiate. 80$US can still be negotiated if you're more than 2 people. (Always negotiate prices in Dominica). - About the difficulty: beware as it's a VERY VERY difficult hike! Not made for kids at all (do not even try or think about), neither it's made for people in bad or fragile health conditions. This hike requires a lot of techniques and a lot of efforts : it's almost only climbing and stairs in the mud for 3hours on the way to go, and over 1 hour climbing on the way back still in the mud. Most people can make it in 6 hours but it can take up to 8 hours according to your pace. - Once you're aware about that, charge the battery of your camera, take a waterproof backpack (much recommended, it may rain), bring a nice picnic, wear your swimsuit, buy a juice to the ladies at the entry of the Mornes Trois Piton National Park, and be ready to be amazed by the landscape you will meet while hiking! Don't forget to take a hot bath on your way back, you will really appreciate it before climbing back ! And of course don't forget to jump into Titou gorge as a reward once you reached the parking you came from in the morning ! Last advice, you should absolutely NOT leave after 9:30am at the LATEST otherwise you may comeback by night which is very dangerous as the path is damaged and difficult. 7:00am would definitely be my best recommendation if you want to take your time and be sure to back on time or early. Enjoy your trip, be ready to have harmful muscles the day after 😁 !

This is one of the toughest hikes I've ever done...but so worth it! There is a lot of up and down! I can't emphasize this enough! You will get wet and muddy, so wear something you don't mind ruining- I still haven't gotten all of the mud out of my leggings. It was a rainy, windy day when we did it and I was so glad to have a hiking stick. It's not just hiking, you will be using your arms too(see pics). We hiked with local guide Chadi Symes (IG @chadi.767treks)and he was terrific!! Not only is he so much fun, but also very knowledgeable about the flora & fauna of the island.

One of the best hikes ever. Our guide from Dominica extreme, Berani, made it such a fantastic experience for us. Smart, funny, open and super helpfull (i suddenly got knee pain during the hike and 5 seconds later Berani fixed me a walking Stick which helped a Lot). Would definitly reckommend to do hiking or canyoning with the crew from dominica extreme. 5 Star Service.

This was a fantastic, albeit truly exhausting hike. Well worth it though, the views were stunning and getting to the lake and seeing the boiling cauldron was so cool. A few things to note: Despite the STOP TRAIL CLOSED sign: It is not closed While you DO NOT need a guide, if you have the budget for one, you should get one, I did, help the local economy. If you are backpacking and on a budget, don't. I've seen a lot of posts either here or others that shame people with " if you can afford a trip to Dominica, you can afford a guide." For the every day luxury traveler, that might be true, but I have been a backpacker before, and if it the $85-120 per person guide fee isn't in your budget and you are fit, then do it on your own. Enjoy, it was a great experience .
AJM — Google review
Guide definitely recommended, as hurricane induced landslides means the latter part of the trek is along the river bed. This is a pretty tough trek, made more challenging by the heat, humidity and at times strong wind and rain. 7 hours (for us) including various stops along the way, so start early. Well worth the effort as the views are stunning. Come prepared with good shoes, waterproofs, walking sticks, food and water. There is a natural spring just beyond the valley of desolation which we refilled from and can vouch for (no adverse effects)! On return the ladies should be there selling cold drinks, snacks and sorted souvenirs. I hope so, as you'll have earned it!!

This was the coolest thing I’ve ever seen/done. 10/10 if you like hiking you must at least try to do this. It was one of the harder hikes I’ve done and I’m a moderate-experienced hiker, but we made it there and back with many stops in about 7 hours with no problems. You MUST go with a guide. Do not try and attempt this on your own, because you will get lost and potentially hurt. We went with guide Roine (works with Alain of @Alaindominicatours who offers tours) and he was amazing. We learned so much about the landscape, plants, history, and culture. He also took some pictures for us so we could really soak in the moments. The hike itself was beautiful (so again even if you don’t make it all the way it’s still worth a try!), with streams and rivers, lush jungle, and incredible mountain and valley views. You will get wet, muddy, and tired. Bring water and snacks, and a hiking stick if you like (I usually don’t bring hiking sticks but it really helped with this hike). There are stairs at some places, but once you reach the peak and start heading toward the valley of desolation you will start walking through rocks (and it gets steep!). But just take your time and you can do it. The lake itself was insane, pictures don’t do it justice, and I can say with certainty that it was the coolest thing I’ve ever seen. A must do for visitors of this beautiful island.

A friend and I were visiting Dominica for a week and as it's dubbed 'The Nature Isle' we just knew that a hike to the Boiling Lake was on the agenda. Sadly my friend got food poisoning so I had to go it alone... Upon finding Chadi's details online (@chadi.767treks on Instagram, Chadi Symes on Trip Advisor) he seemed like a good guide and I decided to book with him. BEST DECISION EVER. I arrived alone and straight away Chadi came over to me with the biggest smile on his face 'Hello! You must be Christina!' What followed was the best 6/7 hours of my whole trip. Chadi is incredibly knowledgeable and has a real passion for what he does. I remember him telling me that growing up as a teenager his peers would ridicule him over his passion for nature, but now he gets to see the smiles on peoples faces after every single one of his many treks and that this fills him with a great sense of pride. I've travelled extensively over the years and met many different guides but none have stood out to me as much as Chadi. I actually took this particular tour some time ago now and we still keep in touch since I arrived home. Chadi's personality is so infectious and his love for what he does is so apparent. The hike was no easy feat, with steep inclines, rocky streams to cross and different terrains to navigate but Chadi made sure everyone was doing ok and kept us safe at all times. We painted our faces with berries and natural mud, boiled eggs in one of the springs en-route and took in some incredible views/stunning scenery. The whole time Chadi was relaying information about the biodiversity within the area, his knowledge was staggering. At the end of the hike we had the chance to cool off with a dip in Titou Gorge - it was freezing at first but once in, swimming through the middle of the high cliffs felt incredible. I truly hope to be able to visit Dominica again and the first thing I'll be doing is booking another of Chadi's tours. I simply cannot recommend him enough.

The Middleham Falls in Dominica is a popular tourist attraction that offers mid-level hiking through lush rainforest vegetation. The trail leads to a 200-ft. waterfall and pool, which is the tallest in the country. Visitors may hear or spot Jaco parrots along the way, adding to the natural beauty of the area.
Wow, what an incredible hike and reward at the end. Even though I'm pretty fit, I found this hike fairly tough. I was able to get my rental car all the way up to the lot but the roads are bumpy and under construction. I presented my weekly site pass, as well. Almost immediately, you cross a small stream with a few others along the way. For me, it was about 45 minutes straight up through rocks, logs, mud and roots. Then, about five minutes of flat walking where you’ll come to a head. Stay to the left and start your descent. About 15-20 minutes down, and it's very steep. At one point, after the wooden steps you'll hit a steam with large rocks. I almost couldn't tell where to go but you have to cross over all the large rocks and continue straight down, using your hands in some spots. Use caution on rocks near the waterfall, they're super slippery. Also, wasn't able to go down to swim. I wasn't clear which way and I was the only one there so I wanted to be safe. I wore regular tennis shoes but hiking shoes would've helped tremendously. Waterfall is stunning and the nature is so peaceful!

No easy walk thats for sure. Takes a good hour of up and down trek which will defo get sweat going. Worth it if out for the day as area to swim below the falls.

Well maintained trail through mature rainforest with impressive buttress roots on huge kapok trees. Many birds including Jaco parrots, also saw land crabs and lizards. Note: at gazebo trail junction turn left to go down to falls.

Absolutely beautiful, very tall waterfall with very clear refreshing water pools that you can take a dip in. However - I’d definitely rate this as a moderate hike that takes 1 hour to get there. It begins with going uphill for a while via wooden and rock steps, my heart was pumping and we were sweating - it gets easier midway through but then as you approach the falls there’s quite a bit of scrambling on rocks, especially to get to the pools. It’s worth it highly recommend, but I think the reviews saying this is an easy hike are a little misleading
Olivia B — Google review
I really liked the hike. There are some muddy, slippery and slightly difficult parts so maybe not the best hike e.g. for elderly. You do not need a guide, there is no way to get lost. We didn't dare to drive the rental car all the way to the beginning of the hike (there was some construction work for a hotel ongoing and road condition was not great) so we walked for 15 mins on road prior to the actual hike. The hike itself there and back (plus some time at the falls) took us ca 1 h 45 mins.

Quite a hard demanding walk/climb to reach the falls, but at the same time very rewarding and fun. Takes about 45 mins each way but these are physical 45 mins. We heard some amazing bird songs, not sure what birds, but it was magical

Jaimon Orlé — Google review
Very nice but personally would rate four Takes 45min to reach and during the trip the path goes both and down in total several hundred meters. This makes the trip more challenging than though. Some steps / rocks are 50cm+ so small children or peole with bad knees might be in trouble. You can swim at the end but rearching the pool is through very big/uneven rocks. In February you can do this just with sneakers without getting wet. If it has rained, there is some mud. Having a walking stick might help. Walk itself is very scenery and in the middle on rainforest, this is perhaps best in the whole trip

The Middleham Falls are really a magic place! It's not just the Falls, it's the way to get there. It's amazing to step up the hill and having all these stunning and different views over the jungle. You got to be a bit trained to do the way with the countless wooden steps, but it's worth it!

Beautiful trail with mind blowing views and spectacular finish. After parking your car at the beginning of trail, where there is well maintained toilet. You will follow signs and after a 45 minutes of easy walk you will reach a destination and I can guarantee, you will be impressed by a surrounding landscape, which come to me like a scene from Jurassic Park. On the way back I was looking around if I can spot some pterodactyl or if there is triceratops hiding in the woods. Do not hesitate and go see all the beauty ;)

Situated near the waterfront, this trendy restaurant boasts a stylish decor with an abundance of green plants, stone walls, and vibrant red accents. The attentive staff ensures excellent service throughout your visit. With an enticing menu featuring delectable seafood, chicken, pork, and various local dishes, there is something to satisfy every palate.
Never fail in food quality, service and right next door! And that rum punch will make you have to walk home...singing!

Prior reviews refer to Old Stone Grill as one restaurant and The Great Old House as another. The 2 restaurants have combined into the Great Old House location. The balcony is nice. Indoors a bit warm and stuffy. Given supply issues and still low numbers of tourists I've learned to ask either what is recommended or what isn't available to avoid disappointment. Again plan to wait. Even tap water took 20 minutes to be served. Pleasant staff just not quick. Credit card accepted.

Probably one of top 3 restaurants in town

The food that we did get was pretty good, but after our table of 8 had ordered, the waitress came back out and listed off all the things that they were 'out of'. Most people had to change their orders, and in the end it came down to about 3 things on the menu that they actually had in stock. And the waitress didn't really seem to care too much! We didn't go back again for the whole two weeks.

Giving this place a generous 3 stars. Definitely can't give it a legit recommendation, but in a town with so few restaurants it's definitely on par with most here.

A very nice place to eat. The food was really taste. I asked the waitress, what she would recommend. She recommended the goat and I was really surprised, because it tasted really delicious. The Cheesecake was also very good. I would visit the old stone grill again.

Not recommended to go to. Service was better than the frozen food, but the prices they are charging are not worth it

So far I've only eaten here during Sunday brunch, but it is always phenomenal! Every time I'm visiting Dominica, I plan to attend brunch here with family. We absolutely love it! The combination of local foods as well as other international dishes really makes it a treat. Kudos to the chef and kitchen team! The staff are always so friendly and helpful. I hope to visit during other meal service in the future, but brunch is so worth it!

Liked to eat here every day. Good menu. Sunday brunch is popular among locals with BBQ chicken, fresh fish and salad, and freshly baked pastry. Fish cakes were good as an appetizer. The breakfast buffet is plentiful with a wide array of food, including bacon, sausage, scrabled eggs, fruit, yogurt, granola, etc. Full bar and wine menu. Fast service.

This Restaurant is so awful. A high price Buffet Restaurant with junk food quality. Please don't fall into there promotion. Everything better in Dominica than this location!!

Bewildered by how horrible tasting the food is and yet they have access to some of the best ingredients around. Just pack some instant noodles. Very disappointed.

We were waiting 2 hours for our cold food. Service was ridiculous, rude waiter. Don't bother coming, only will wreck your nerves...

The Islet View Restaurant & Bar is a cute shack on the side of the road with beautiful views of Castle Bruce Bay. The food is good and the hospitality warm, adding it to your itinerary if you have time.
We stopped for an early lunch while sightseeing in the area and they were still serving breakfast. It was delicious!! Salted fish, boiled banana, salad and fresh squeezed passion/guava juice. Friendly people and nice atmosphere. We left feeling so refreshed.

The ambiance needs a bit of work..... Place needs a bit of a fix-up. However seeing that most of the country is still reeling from the effects of Hurricane Maria that's a bit understandable. .. in respect to the food. My S.O and I thoroughly enjoyed the meal there and the service from the young lady who attended to us was really top notch.

Great local spot & local food, with a vast selection of bush rum. Amazing views and the owner Rudy is a lovely, hard working guy. They had a little damage on the extention to the building post Hurricane Maria, but that doesn’t slow them down or has negatively affected them in anyway. Definitely stop by for lunch or simply a rum punch, served in a dried cocunut with a piece of bay leaf and a beautiful hibiscus flower💕

Pearls Cuisine is an excellent choice if you're seeking local delicacies for breakfast and lunch. Their menu offers a wide range of options, ensuring a full local experience from appetizer to dessert. On Saturdays, they have a dedicated breakfast menu featuring dishes like souse, accras, bakes, stuffed pies, and local cocoa tea. This place is well-known among locals for its delicious and affordable food. While the ambiance may not be fancy, the main attraction is undoubtedly the tasty cuisine.
This is a great local spot. We were tired of cruise food and wanted a taste of local food. We were the only tourists in the restaurant, all local people. The food was delicious and the service great. The restaurant was very clean. If you are adventurous and want real local food come here

Best local restaurant in Roseau. Come during breakfast for their “Creole Breakfast”. The codfish fritters (accras) are also my favorite and only $1ECD each! Kind staff and great value. Will definitely return!!

Good local food. Cash only no AC on or fan. Plan to wait. As has been common during our stay even a short menu will have selections that aren’t available. The main pork was tender with flavorful gravy. Rice had beans salad and vegetables.

Excellent food and host. We showed up without a reservation but they were able to accommodate based on a cancellation. Make a reservation! They have rotating chefs and menu to match the chef’s background. This is one of the best meals we had on the island.

Rain or sunshine, it's always a fantastic place to relax when visiting the East coast of Dominica. At the moment (2023) only open for dinner and you need to book in advance. It's well worth it. In the afternoon, drinks are served on the verandah overlooking the river.

Excellent restaurant. Our party of 9 ate here three nights in our week in Dominica and loved it every time. Soley has been the chef for a few months now and is extremely talented. The dishes were delicious, creative, and well-plated while still having a “home-cooked” feel. We also loved how accommodating Soley was for dietary restrictions in our group. Soley, thanks for the wonderful dinners!
