Leon Levy Native Plant Preserve

Mentioned on
National park
Nature & Parks
The Leon Levy Native Plant Preserve is a beautiful national park featuring boardwalks and trails that wind through an expertly cultivated landscape of native Bahamian flora and fauna. The trails are clearly marked, well-maintained, and offer breathtaking views from the top of Ethans Tower. Visitors can either take a self-guided tour or schedule a guided one in advance. While exploring the preserve, keep an eye out for Golden Orb Spiders, which are abundant but harmless.
Very neat plant preserve here in Eleuthera! The trails are maintained well, with informative posts around the park. You can spend 1~2 hours here, and its a pleasant walk to enjoy and learn a little about the islands plant life!
Joseph Tiller — Google review
This preserve is lovely. The employees are super friendly. The sites are beautiful. There are informative plaques all over as you walk, keeping you informed of what you are looking at, as well as providing historical information. Loved visiting the preserve and will be back again. Highly recommend stopping by!

If you're curious about everything native to Eluthera, give yourself plenty of time here! It's absolutely wonderful and so much to learn in regards to native vegetation and history of the island. Definitely a place we visit every time we come to Eluthera.
Ashley Crawford — Google review
Beautiful park and so well-done! We got a map with notations of all the different sections. Learned a lot about native plants and wildlife. Loved the turtles! I think it was $11 for adults plus VAT. Totally worth it. Park staff were wonderful!!
Sarah Everett — Google review
Fun mini hike. Very interesting signs about bush medicine. Feeding the turtles was great for kids.
Nate Nuzum — Google review
Super surprised by this national trust park, definitely one of the highlights of our trip in Eleuthera. Didn’t expect it to be this well managed, but on arrival we found out that the whole site is only 10years old and features some amazing walks through different landscapes. Our favourite parts were the turtles which you can feed with turtle food purchased at the entrance.
Franz-Josef Schrepf — Google review
Beautiful place for plant and tree lovers or those who just love nature. The grounds are clean the labels are helpful, their educational pavilion is very well constructed and is useful. Our visit was for business but we were really impressed with this Botanical Garden and their staff!
Bahamas A Sus Ordenes — Google review
Excellent educational journey. Great jungle walk all over learning about the plant life and history of the Bahamas. Turtle feeding was so cute, but was unexpected. As soon as the turtles see you they all coming running(swimming) to be fed. I would suggest at least 2 packs of turtle food from the welcome center as we felt bad that we ran out and half the turtles didn't get any. If you plan to go up to the tower or weather station be careful and watchful of the huge spiders who like to spread across the trail.
Timothy Moore — Google review
Beautifully created with natural Eleuthera charm. A great way to discover secrets of the island. Great on a down day.
Denny Poulin — Google review
Very nice place to view all the native plants. Tons of plant labels and very informative signs describing the details. Be sure to get some turtle food when you get your tickets so you can feed them at the pond. Typically it takes about 2 hrs to see the whole thing at a moderate pace.
Bruce Chaput — Google review
Absolutely beautiful. Nice little hike and very well kept.
Kayla — Google review
Great place to hike and learn about the areas plants and fruits.
Jessica Sanchez — Google review
This place exceeded my expectations! Gorgeously surrounded by native plants, well marked, clean and easy to follow trails. Very clean and well maintained! It costs $10 to get in, they do offer senior discounts & probably for kids as well. You can call ahead to schedule a guided tour or choose to do a self guided tour like we did. Make sure you walk up to the top of Ethan’s Tower for a gorgeous bird eye view of the surroundings. Watch out for the Golden Orb Spiders, they are in abundance here. Gorgeous to look at though! Tip, go early if your here during the summer because naturally it gets real hot real quick! Not a whole lot of breeze because of the location. A definite must do if you’re into nature!

French Leave Beach

Outdoor Activities
French Leave Beach, a popular tropical island destination, boasts a pristine white-sand shore that is perfect for swimming, sunbathing, walking and snorkeling. This stunning beach has been recognized as one of the top 20 beaches in the world due to its crystal-blue waters and breathtaking scenery. However, visitors are advised to be considerate of others who also wish to enjoy this amazing location without disturbance from unleashed dogs or other disruptions.
Beautiful beach with amazingly blue water. One of my favorite beaches on the island and never packed. Go early in the morning and you won’t run into anyone for hours. Truly an experience.
Josh Young — Google review
Easy to find and drive to. The water is clear and the beach is clean. The waves can get large.
Jessica Sanchez — Google review
This is one of the most beautiful beaches that I have seen and rated in the top 20 on the planet. Only bad thing is those Americans visiting the island with their dogs and running on the beach with their unleashed four-legged friends have to think about others enjoying this amazing beach.
Rudy Ortiz — Google review
French Leave beach is yet another gorgeous beach. This is on the Atlantic side so the waves are more aggressive than in the Bahamas Shelf. The sand here is also again pink if you look carefully. This is a really deep beach and is a long beach. Great for a long walk and a great swim in the ocean. French Leave resort has some services for their guests here in about the middle of the beach with the resort being on the Bight side of the island so if you stay at that resort just realize that you will need to golf cart over to this beach. You can't walk out of your room onto the beach.
Millie Kwan — Google review
This pink sand beach is incredible and we had it almost entirely to ourselves.
Kirb Witmer — Google review
Absolutely stunning beach. I met three very large sting rays who were passive, and yet very curious about me. Also curious were the tropical fish who nibbled on my toes. Beautiful pink sand. Bring your snorkel and sunscreen!
R Butler — Google review
This Beautiful beach on Atlantic side, as the previously reviews, most depends on the sea condition, but if you are lucky (as me and my family) and you find the best weather and sea condition, this place will be your favorite beach in Eleuthera Island.

Tippy's Restaurant and Beachside Bar is a palapa-style bar that hugs an ivory-white beach on the east coast of Eleuthera. The restaurant offers a variety of drinks like Tippys sunshine punch, and the food is good too - family members say it's the best burger they've ever had. The staff are helpful and friendly, but be prepared to pay for it - it's not cheap!
Good bit on the menu, good food and good drinks. Owner even preforms at the restaurant, quite well too, very involved with the patrons.
Snow — Google review
Tippy's may look rather like a shack and some of the tables look like they used to be doors, but do not he fooled. We came for lunch and dinner each once during our stay. It can be rather a trek from Governors Harbour but we thought it was well worth it. The setting right on the beach is gorgeous and best enjoyed during lunch. Beware that the mosquitoes here are fearsome at night so accept the insect repellent they offer you as it was quite effective. The exec chef really knows what she's doing and the kitchen pass looked immaculate. Coconut conch (fried) tacos were delicious as were the conch fritters and seared mahi mahi. Dinner was even better with a great seared tuna special and hubby enjoyed cracked lobster and fries. The guava crepes were amazing! Service was friendly and excellent and they have live music some evenings. Def recommend.
Millie Kwan — Google review
Heard from many that this was THE place to visit on Eleuthera and it did not disappoint. Great service and friendly staff. Bring a menu board to your table. Fast and tasty food and the location on a beautiful beach. Perfect spot to spend the day and like most of Eleuthera to have a quiet world class beach, great food with wonderful people!
Kitts Caribs — Google review
Delicious food!!!! The menu offers a great variety of dishes and seafood! Seafood trio dish includes deep fried conch, mahimahi, and shrimp. The staff was friendly and accommodating. They have gluten-free dishes. I had a very nice and relaxing time at the restaurant.

Was great!!! Food was wonderful - family said it was the best burger they'd ever had. Staff very helpful and friendly. Really loved it. Would definitely recommend (but take plenty of money as not cheap!!)
Lynne Pavey — Google review
Tippy's was actually our favorite restaurant in Eleuthera. The rental car lady recommended it and we gave it a try and really enjoyed it. The seafood paella and the lobster/shrimp pasta were very good. We also tried the conch salad and conch soup. Service and food were good in comparison with other restaurants you find on the island. It's accessible to the French Leaf beach which is a pink sand beach so we walked on the beach prior to dinner time starting at 5:30pm.
Alan X. Koh — Google review
Some of the best food we had on our trip, not pretentious, just quality dishes. We came toward the end of dinner, so we had to wait quite awhile to get our food (2+hours)—Some rain also threw off everything with the kitchen. But we enjoyed the music and the vibe. If it’s your first time on this island, just remember things run a little slower and are much more relaxed here.
Travis DeMars — Google review
Perfect location right on the perfect beach on a perfect island. I could go here for dinner every night. We got two of the specials when we ate here. I got the lasagna and my wife ordered the stone crab gnocchi. The gnocchi was incredible and cooked to perfection. Just the right amount of sauce so it’s not drowning. The lasagna was on another level and came with a loaf of cheesy garlic bread that was equally amazing. After giving my wife a bite of my lasagna I quickly had my meal taken from me replaced with my wife’s gnocchi. So I finished hers, we just had to get another loaf of that bread, and once she was done I was able to finally finish off my lasagna. One of the best things we’ve ever eaten. On our next Eleuthera trip we are definitely staying closer to tippys
Brandon Turner — Google review
tippy's was fun & yummy, the conch fritters were so good and the cracked conch was also good, the fries were a little hard but for the price we paid we ate every last one. we sat outside for sunset which was so beautiful but as soon as the sun started setting the mosquitoes got SO bad. everyone was really friendly
Ariana Furrie — Google review
First: Service was EXCELLENT! Ambience too! But Conch fritters were 90% stuffing and very greasy and Margueritta pizza was just plain Tomato Sauce & Cheese. The Fish & Chips were OK. Drinks suggestion (fruity with Rum) was truly good! Great place - overall!
RGJ Jurdak — Google review
Made reservations for 5:30 and got there about 5:15 would not allow us to be seated until after 5:30 due to dinner beginning at that time. Once seated the waitress moved slowly to our table despite being the first guests. We ordered our drinks and appetizers (bruschetta) which is pictured. We then ordered our meal that took over 1 hour to arrive. Other tables continued to get their meals before us and the whole time no see ums were eating us alive. The whole meal experience was over 2 hours and was just okay. We ordered fries for my daughter to snack on as an appetizer and they came out with the meal. Over seemed like the waitress didn't enjoy their job and two of our food items came out warm but not hot after the long wait. Beautiful location as long as you have bug spray and are prepared to wait a while for your meal.
Ronda Stede — Google review
I recently dined at Tippy's to celebrate my birthday, and I must say, the food was absolutely delightful. The hog fish I ordered was cooked to perfection and truly tantalized my taste buds. It's not often that I come across a dish that leaves such a lasting impression on me, but this one certainly did. To further indulge my senses and commemorate my special day, I treated myself to a chocolate coconut brownie with a scoop of ice cream on the side. The rich flavors and smooth texture of the dessert were simply divine. It was the perfect way to round off my meal and make my birthday feel extra special. However, my experience at Tippy's wasn't entirely flawless. While enjoying our meal, we requested an umbrella to shield our eyes from the sun, but the staff took it away, claiming that if they let us have an umbrella, everyone would want one. It was a bit disappointing, as I believe a little flexibility in accommodating customers' needs goes a long way in creating a memorable dining experience. Additionally, I found it rather peculiar that they charge extra for writing "happy birthday" on a dessert. While it's not a deal-breaker, it did take away a bit from the celebratory atmosphere. All in all, I would give Tippy's a solid 4 out of 5 stars for their delectable cuisine and cozy ambiance. If they could iron out the minor kinks in their customer service, I have no doubt that they would be a top-tier dining destination.

Amazing food and a great beach front location. I can see why it's so highly rated. Staff are friendly and a great beach vibe.
Mike Baker — Google review
Here i am sitting in the restaurant having to leave an unfavorable review and I’m only still here because i brought guest from out of town who have been waiting so long to eat that we have no other choice at this point but to wait. It is disheartening that in a country of native colored folk, the service depends on color and origin. The Caucasians come in and are served faster and if you are black and American you can be served faster, but only if they know you are black and American, otherwise you are clumped in as a local and served when they find the chance. Service should not take this long and without even so much as an apology or acknowledgment from the manger who is at the bar catering to the tourists as if he is a guest (in red), instead of managing the service of the restaurant. Horrible experience. Not only will I not recommend the location, i will not ever bring another person here for the forceable future.

A really nice place to have snacks, a meal or stop just for drinks! The sea view is amazing, the coctails are great and the food is super nice! Friendly people serving you, to complete the whole picture

Tippy’s is my happy place. The food, the people, and the views cannot be beat. Do NOT pass up a chance to go. The live music nights are amazing and sometimes there is a great DJ. Tippy’s is a must do on Eleuthera!

We visited for drinks! Best Pina Colada! We loved the atmosphere here and the beach was so great! It was one of the “touristy” places listed on all the Eleuthera vacation blogs that definitely lived up to the hype. The service was very good and everyone was so friendly!

Restaurant
The Buccaneer Club in Governors Harbour is a wonderful eatery that offers delicious meals throughout the day, be it breakfast, lunch, or dinner. It stands out as the most consistently open restaurant in the area. Operated by the Johnson sisters, this establishment is well-managed and engaging to converse with. Notably, its expansive deck provides ample shaded seating under beautiful trees. Additionally, patrons can opt for indoor dining or enjoy drinks at the bar.
Really good food and icecream. Drinks are pretty strong but incredibly flavorful. Certainly worth kt if you get the stone crab. I had a hard time deciding as there were so many good things on the menu.
Snow — Google review
We've been searching for a nice Bahamian style dinner. This seems to maybe come a little closer than others, but felt off. Don't get me wrong though, the food was still pretty good. The drinks were good as well. The wait staff was a sure miss. Their vibe was we were taking time away from them looking at their phones and could hardly be bothered with us. Like most venues in the Bahamas, the Buccaneer Club also suffers from flies. Be sure to get a couple sterno's on your table. I don't know why none of these places have any insect catchers. We'll go back and try breakfast. Edit: My wife and I went back for breakfast. This was a totally positive experience. Banana packages and rum French toast were A+. Thanks for the great service and redemption from our previous visit!!!
Daniel Thomson — Google review
Great service. Standard rum drinks. I think they must have the biggest tree on the island covering their deck. It was worth it to see this tree. Had the conch fritters they were good. Little undercooked on the inside. Loved the chicken curry. Could have used just a bit more spice though.

Anytime we are in Eleuthera, we drive down for lunch. The food is always fresh & delicious. The food is freshly prepared and the wait is never crazy long - they have it dialed in. Highly recommend!!

This restaurant is nicely set in the heart of a quiet area with both indoor and outdoor dining options. Great feel for either formal or more casual dining. The staff were all courteous and made you feel very much at home. You can take a walk and view beautiful beaches after you’ve enjoyed the wonderful meals chosen from the menu. A small but wonderful spot to enjoy moments with locals and guest alike.

Buccaneer Club is a great place to get a meal whether it's breakfast, lunch or dinner. We went multiple times as it's the most consistently open restaurant in the Governors Harbour area. The Johnson sisters run a tight ship and it was fun talking with them. The deck is huge with great shade trees and there is a bar and smaller "indoor" dining room. Food is awesome especially the seafood and traditional island dishes. Really can't go wrong. All the meals we had there were great and the cocktails are also delicious. Parking right out front otherwise the walk is not far from the strip mall along the main road. Definitely go here for good food and drink and great service.

Best conch fritters I found. Ate here twice on our trip. Fantastic food each time. Nice outdoor shaded seating area. Will definitely return on our next trip to the island.

Had two delicious meals here! Island curry is amazing, Greek salad was too. Best food we’ve had in the last two months cruising in the Bahamas.

Breakfast was excellent. They have local Bahamian plates, as well as your “traditional breakfast” meals like omelettes, pancakes, and otherwise. Very good selection. Fun environment with very good vibes. Great people, just like all of Eleuthera!

Quick service and friendly staff. Food was good, but pricey. Better food and the same or lower price at LA Borgainvillea up the road. Would recommend for nice outside dining with good food, and you can get ice cream after next door at Coco Creamery.

1648 - An Island Restaurant is a beautiful Caribbean restaurant located on Governor's Harbour in Eleuthera, Bahamas. The restaurant offers a variety of seafood-based dishes infused with herbs and spices from West Africa and the Americas. Visitors can enjoy delicious conch rangoon and the special seafood dinner for two called devils backbone, which are highly recommended. The friendly staff provides excellent service, making the dining experience wonderful.
We were staying at the French Leave Resort and the 1648 is the hotel Restaurant. Food is great. Did not have a bad meal. Great drinks. Highly recommend coming at sunset for an amazing dinner view. Dreamy.

Fantastic food, wonderful staff, extraordinarily beautiful views from the patio which overlooks the Caribbean. You will be happy you ate at 1648. We stayed at the hotel so we ate multiple meals there and all were outstanding.

It was our first time eating at 1648. The bartenders are very skilled at their craft...it is more expensive, but completely worth it! Watermelon Martini and Cupid's Passion...Everyone involved with our dinner was very nice and accommodating, especially Melissa who was our server for the evening. Our dishes...conch chowder (enough to be shared) followed by fresh almond crusted grouper on a bed of coconut rissoto, and creamy lobster pasta. Amazing! We will be back for more!😊 Lynette

Sunset, a fabulous meal of apple and blue cheese salad, conch soup, and fresh mahi-mahi capped by a scrumptious dessert, and great music. Doesn't get beyyer than this.
Rob Fisher — Google review
The view was great. The price was expensive for the quality of food. I ordered the filet medium rare. It came out medium well. There wasn’t really much flavor to the meal. The lobster was good. The service was great, atmosphere was great. The food presentation was good. The taste was just bland. Other than that, we had a great time and enjoyed the experience. May have just been a random steak issue. So I won’t hold that against them. Would recommend trying it out.

Food was delicious, nice views of the the bay, food is a little pricey compared to other nearby restaurants but for an upscale meal it's a good place.
Mike Baker — Google review
We ordered the conch rangoon to start, then the devils backbone (special seafood dinner for two). Both were excellent! The rangoon was honestly to die for especially if you’re a fan of crab rangoon from your local Chinese restaurant in the United States. The devils backbone dinner did not disappoint! We were glad to splurge on this because we got to sample all the seafood options. Our server was the best we encountered during our whole stay on the island. She surprised us with a dessert as we were on our honeymoon. Overall best service, food, and sunset of our trip!

French Leave resort is beautiful and is right in the water. 1648 is the onsite restaurant. We did not stay here, but had dinner one night during our vacation. It's a nice setting and in sure beautiful during the day and for sunsets. The service was terrific and friendly. The menu is quite American although there are some local twists such as conch rather than crab Rangoon and island seasoning for the chicken wings. Not thecplace to eat if you want local flavor. Nice wine list. Great finish with the bread pudding.

Best service of our entire stay. The staff was incredible and helpful with various dietary restrictions, while also being very accommodating for our friends’ 3 young children. Bonus: amazing sunset views.

We intentionally reserved dinner at sunset at 1648 at the French Leave Resort for the last night of our weeklong visit to magical Eleuthera….and we are so glad that we did. It was the perfect ending to a prefect week for two couples/four friends who have traveled many places together over 10+ years. The beauty of the resort, the corner table facing the Caribbean Sea at sunset- combined with perfectly prepared drinks and dishes- was the perfect finale. We began our culinary journey with two apps- the Junkanoo Wings with The Vaz Hot Sauce and Conch Rangoon’s. Both were DE-LICH-OUS. Perfect start to a perfect meal. Main courses were the Catch of the Day which was Blackened Grouper, Goat Cheese Encrusted Beef Filet, and the Devil’s Backbone for Two (pictured). We finished with a nice glass of wine and sharing Merez’s Guava Duff. Lastly, we must mention our beautiful, charismatic and professional server, Sheena. She made the evening so special. Thank you Sheena and 1648-French Leave for being the perfect finale to the perfect week in magical Eleuthera.

The view was spectacular. We went during sunset and the food, atmosphere and people..overall it was a satisfying. It was expensive but not so different than other places which we visited in the island. The island itself is expensive tbh and nothing to do about that. We shared one starter, one pizza and one dessert and had some cocktails and paid around 150 dollars. In general, I would recommend this place if you are around, especially for spectacular sunset view.

The Sunset Cove and Rainbow Room is a relaxed accommodation option on Eleuthera, offering bright villas with kitchenettes. The hotel is run by the friendly and accommodating couple, Andrea and Stephanie. The rooms are clean and spacious, with lovely views of the ocean and pool. While not luxurious, the location is great for easy access to a clean pool and nearby beaches. Guests can enjoy delicious food from the on-site restaurant, including amazing wood oven pizzas and cocktails made by Mr. Jonshon.
What an amazing stay @ Eleuthera. Thank you Andrea, Stephanie and team for making us feel at home - will not forget "your spirit of giving". The taste of roasted coconut, musk melons, sugar bananas and your Pizzas will linger forever.

One of the larger restaurants I’ve seen on the island. Picturesque views, delicious cocktails (including frozen drinks), great service, and an expansive menu, including scratch-made wood fire pizza. We had the coconut shrimp as an appetizer, and it was so good! Screened in patio along with indoor seating. Could easily accommodate a large party of 10-12.

I want to point out the only 5 star review in the last few months is from the same person that the business had me Zelle money to for my reservation. I booked reservations for May 22, 2022 for a small beach wedding (less than 10 guest). I was required to pay half up front. Due to covid I had to cancel my reservations. At the time of my cancellation I had received no services and no contact to start planning the wedding. The last contact was when I requested a receipt and had to prove I had sent the money because they initially claimed it had not been received. After I contacted them twice to cancel and request a refund I was told all booking are non- refundable. This was never stated in my contract, emails, or receipt for the deposit. I feel as if I have been scammed.

An amazing stay on Eleuthera, with super kind hosts and staff. Andrea and Stephanie are the best hosts ever and very helpful and kind making our stay on this beautyful island unique. Rooms are super clean and very quiet and functional. Relax area around the pool and in the park very cozy.

Stayed in bungalow 7 directly overlooking the pool! Very clean, basic room. The pool area was amazing, in a garden setting with palm trees and a view of the water. I stayed here as I had no power at my house for 5 nights. Andrea and Stephanie were very helpful. Andrea went so far as to offer me a ride to North Eleuthera to pick up my car which I had to abandon with the Glass Window Bridge closing during a rage. Great veggie pizza in the restaurant :)

The rooms need to be renovated. Ants and spider encountered inside the room. Old wall air condition unit which was very noisy and ceiling fan was missing a blade and looked like it was about to fall. Website needs to be revisited so it is clear which rooms are being booked with which amenities. The website shows the restaurant as being open 7days a week however upon check in we discovered the restaurant was closed on that day. We were disappointed.

I highly recommend- My husband, Christopher, and I were looking for a nice place to stay for the weekend on Eleuthera. He mentioned Sunset Cove and Rainbow Room had really good pizza and that maybe we should try it out. I booked a room with any problems and when we arrived we were met by Andrea’s wife, Stephanie. Both Andrea and Stephanie were extremely kind, accommodating, and just overall very nice people. Our room was lovely, I believe the honeymoon suite and had a nice view of the ocean and pool. It was on the private side and we were unbothered our entire stay. The food was soooo good. We tried breakfast, coffee(I love a good cup of joe), pizza(absolutely delicious and unlike the greasy sweet pizza I’ve had elsewhere), chicken salad and chicken sandwiches with free(my husband almost ordered a second chicken sandwich because of how good it was). The staff were sweet and friendly as well and the pool was very relaxing-but you must know how to swim because it doesn’t have a shallow area(I’m 5” and had to swim as soon as I hit the last step). I highly recommend the Sunset Cove and Rainbow Room for your next stay and dinner! -Ericka Lewis, Harbour Island

The Sunset Cove and Rainbow Room is absolutely fantastic! Stephanie and Andrea are doing a very good job running this hotel. I stayed two nights for business, and will definitely be back again later bringing my family. The rooms are not luxury, but nice and very clean. The location is great, could walk out of my door directly to a nice clean pool. The nearest beach was 5 minutes’ walk away, and the rainbow beach around 20 minutes of walking distance. I borrowed snorkeling gear from the hotel, and saw lots of fish on both beaches in the crystal clear Caribbean water. Food was excellent, both breakfast and dinner was absolutely deliciously. their Pizza was most likely one of the best pizza i ever had! Stephanie did a good job serving local delicious fruit like pineapple, coconut and more. I have been travelled around in Caribbean over the last twenty years. visited many different islands, and honestly I never been a big fan of Caribbean (always favorized Hawaii) But this trip to Eleuthero completely changed my opinion about Bahamas/Caribbean. This island, the hotel. and all the people I met during my stay, was just amazing.

Very clean and spacious rooms. Loved the pool. This hotel is on the Caribbean side. It’s not right on the beach but you can walk easily to the beach in 1 min. You definitely need a car when you re staying in this island. But in this hotel they have amazing food food restaurant and oh my god the cocktails made from Mr.Jonshon are amazing. And service at the restaurant is also very good! Please try the pizzas ! They are from hot wooden oven. I can’t praise and thank the hotel management Stefani and Andrea enough. They are the most beautiful hearted persons I’ve ever met. So.. the bed is very good! Location is amazing because it’s in the middle of The island. There is a pool. Restaurant. 1min walk to the beach. Rooms are big and the staff is amazing and so friendly! If you still looking witch airport to come. Arrive to governor harbour. This hotel is about 10mins. Other airports are 1h

We ate here every night during our stay on Eleuthera, Andrea was awesome! He was extremely kind and accommodating. You can tell he is incredible hard working. Would recommend this place to anyone simply because of the service we received from Andrea.

The Front Porch is a charming restaurant and bar located in Eleuthera, where guests can enjoy a warm and welcoming atmosphere. The hosts, Gina and Francis, are known for their incredible hospitality. Visitors can savor delicious meals with stunning views on the porch, such as the recommended seafood platter featuring decadent lobster. The cozy interior boasts friendly staff and tasty dishes like fish and chips, while outside offers a picturesque view of the sea and a lovely garden.
Best food on the island! We had an amazing dinner including shrimp, Caribbean lobster, snapper, and stone crab claws. Everything was cooked and seasoned perfectly, but owners, Francis and Gina, made the experience even better! Come for the food, stay for the drinks and hospitality!

It was a very lovely place. The staff was extremely friendly. We are glad that we just stopped here by not knowing how good the place is. We had fish and chips and it was amazingly super tasty. The dessert was decent. The decoration is so cozy inside and the outside there is a very nice view of sea and the little green garden. We were here during lunch time but I bet the view gets better with sunset. Definitely worth visiting if you are around.

Great fresh seafood in an intimate setting. While the exterior is rustic, the dining experience is similar to being invited to a chef's home for dinner. Sitting on the deck, we exchanged comments with other guests from various places. Sunset over the harbor and anchored boats was magical. My tuna was extremely fresh, served with seasonal veggies. My date's curried shrimp, served in shell, were reported as excellent. The chef walked around, checking in with diners and commenting on the preparation choices; cool for foodies.

Francis and his family have put together a true gem in Eleuthera. The small setting makes you feel as though you're part of an exclusive group... A member of royalty! And when they say fresh, they mean caught that day. The biggest portions you will find on the island and probably the best prepared. Get ready for hospitality, service and the best meal you will have on the island.

It was way better than what the reviews suggested. The food was incredible and the atmosphere as well. Francis was a great host and excellent cook. We went for lunch, enjoyed it so much that we went back for dinner.

While honeymooning in Eleuthera, my wife and I made reservations to dine in at the Front Porch restaurant and bar. Francis and Gina, greeted us with smiles and laughter as we were to be the only couple there that evening. With seemingly no expectation for the evening we didn’t branch out too far on the menu and I stuck with the JUNKANOO SHRIMP, my wife, the par-tee on the porch PEPPER STEAK SKILLET. Quite literally one of the best meals I have had the pleasure of enjoying. He served both of our entrees along side a creamy basil pasta and steamed veggies. Washing it down with a tall BAHAMA-MAMA (Will take you by surprise so drink slowly lol), which I would also drink without ordering food it was that good. At the end of our entrees we decided to finish it off with a slice of homemade RUM CAKE, that was topped with ice cream and whipped cream. Francis chatted with us as, we told him how lovely his meal was and that we wanted to come back the very next night. He began preparing what he was going to make us tomorrow, right then and there, which made our next meal that much more special. I told him that I would love to try his take on a whole fried red snapper, since his shrimp was that delicious. “Trust me I know what you are looking for” said Francis, and boy did he absolutely ace our next meal. The next evening, he started us off with two BAHAMA-MAMAS, and told me he had started on my food before I had arrived. My wife decided on the “FIRES” GUAVA GLAZED CHICKEN WINGS. This night Francis chose to pair our meal with sides of basmati rice and a island papaya cole slaw, that complimented both of our meals very well. My two whole FRIED RED SNAPPERS were cooked to perfection. And my wife’s chicken wings we very tasteful. We finished off the night with another slice of rum cake and then chatted with our hosts for 20 minutes and got to know them a little more personally. The two truly are amazing, hardworking people who just want to share their cuisine with anyone who wants to try. Francis noted that his grandmother taught him to cook and that her key to cooking was “Cook for others like you would for yourself”. Thank you again Francis and Gina for an incredible two nights. And thank you for your amazing hospitality, it truly was very special. -Brendan and Dianna

The food was plentiful and flavorful. The crab claws are large and sweet. The grouper is thick and tender. The owners are friendly and very accommodating. Been back several times and it never disappoints. Call for reservation. Limited seating. Small quaint restaurant feels like a home.

My husband and I came here for dinner one night on our honeymoon trip a few weeks ago and had the most wonderful time. Gina and Francis were the most incredible hosts, and made us feel so welcomed. We had a beautiful private dinner out on the porch with incredible views, and even better food. We ordered the seafood platter as it was recommended from all of the other guests staying at our hotel that had told us we absolutely had to go eat at the Front Porch. The lobster was absolutely decadent. The entire atmosphere and experience was a 10/10. We would highly recommend giving this place a visit if you are staying on the island. We took a taxi from The Cove and it was very easy to get to. Will definitely come back next time we are in Eleuthera!

We ate here the first night of our trip, and it was the best decision. The food and service were both amazing, and we enjoyed it so much! We got blackened wahoo fish, and it was so delicious! We would highly recommend and hope to return!

Food was delicious! We had crab claws, shrimp, wings, and salmon, and the banana bread and ice cream was fantastic! Our kids LOVED everything about this quaint place. It's $$$, but worth it.

We had a wonderful meal at The Front Porch last evening. Francis and Gina were so welcoming and we felt like we were guests at a friend’s home. The meals were delicious - we had the catch of the day, Junkanoo shrimp, and the steak entrees. Francis is a really talented chef, creating delicious spice and flavor combinations. The banana rum cake for dessert was the cherry on top of a fabulous meal. We will definitely be back, and highly recommend this restaurant to anyone! Try to get there early to watch the sunset over the water. The food, decor, and hospitality are not to be missed!

This is a very cute Bahamian restaurant with great views, excellent food, and very friendly stuff. Please make sure you stop by or call to reserve a table ahead of time since seating is limited. There are other great food choices in Aice Town, but the Front Porch strives to look and behave a bit more upscale and dishes their are quite a bit more elaborate than what you get in other places. Will certainly be back next year!

Food, service & the setting are what you come to Eleuthera for. Small and intimate, family owned & run this is the authentic experience. Right off Queens Highway the actual setting is quiet and pleasant once inside! Highly recommended and worth the experience!
