Basilico Italian Restaurant in Antigua, located in Jolly Harbour, is known for its exceptional food and service. It offers authentic Italian cuisine and is a popular choice among both Jolly Harbour guests and residents. The restaurant operates from 5:00pm to 10:00pm daily, providing a perfect setting for a delightful dinner experience. With its prime location on the main road of Jolly Harbour, Basilico is easily accessible to visitors exploring the area.
What an amazing place! We got in Basilico without any expectations after a long day at the incredible Jolly beach. While nothing special happens in front, the party is all at the back! There is a large wood gazebo overlooking the harbour/canals. One of those honeymoon picture spots. Sunset in the background, the works. Staff was friendly and food really good, as you would expect in Europe. We tried the lobster linguine and the grilled lobster both were great. Our 3 year old daughter had a great time dancing and socialising with the live sax singer. Thank you Larisa the manager amd to her staff for such an amazing night!!

Ate supper there on a Sunday night. The food was wonderful. Pizza is the best on the island. The salads were extremely fresh. Had crème brûlée and lemon cheesecake to finish the meal and they were awesome . Staff and owner were very friendly . There was a live band playing on Sunday night. I highly recommend.

Had dinner with my family and some friends on the last Sunday in April. The ambience was superb. There was a good live reggae band ( I think the name was ICTH or something like that ) that did a delightful cover of take 5. The host/owner was very friendly. She visited all the tables and there was much laughter all around. And the food was delicious. I had the lobster tagliatelle. I would certainly return to this restaurant and I highly recommend it.

We regularly eat here for dinner and always totally enjoy the experience. Last week we had lunch and we were thrilled with the new menu. The special Tuna salad was fantastic, fresh and beautifully flavoured. Compliments to the chef!! A lovely chilled atmosphere with great music and excellent service(as always). The new breakfast and lunch options are a brilliant addition for all of us dining in Jolly Harbour. We will be back for lunch soon and also keep our regular dinner experiences.

Great ambiance (live music) and views of the marina. The service was very good. These were expected based on online and word of mouth reviews. The food is okay but neither exceptional or justified by the high prices. The pizzas (65-75ECD/25-28US) were decent (nice dough) but not what I expected for an upscale exoerience. The sausage and mushroom penne pasta (79ECD/29US) was definitely firmer than al dente (dare I say really undercooked). We were given used dirty plates, mistakes happen and they apologized. Maybe they were having a bad evening but for the most expensive restaurant in Jolly Harbour, it was grossly underwhelming and quite disappointing.

A couple weeks ago, I made a reservation at Basílico for NYE 2023 dinner at 7pm. On December 31st at around 3:30pm, I called the restaurant to cancel the reservation because an emergency situation arose so me and my friend would not be able to make it. The woman who picked up my call could not seem to find our reservation but went on to say in a very unfriendly tone, “Even if I could find your reservation, it’s disrespectful to cancel a reservation. This is a fully booked restaurant. It’s very disrespectful disrespectful to a restaurant to cancel hours before a reservation. I hope you have an awful New Years.” Then she hung up the phone. I called the restaurant right back and the same woman (who I strongly believe is the owner because of her ignorant and disrespectful attitude) answered. I asked her what was all the attitude from before about. She went on another angry rant about the restaurant being fully booked and it being disrespectful to cancel a reservation so late. I simply told her that a situation arose and I had no choice but to cancel. The woman didn’t even try to listen. She just raged on and on about “disrespect” and said, “I have work to do” then hung up again. This woman has no manners and spoke as if she was talking to an animal. I am actually grateful this happened so me and my friend did not waste a dime on this restaurant run by such a tyrant. Rude, obnoxious, disrespectful and hostile are the words I would use to describe my experience. Never again. Would not recommend to anyone.

This is a great restaurant for a special occasion as you know you'll be in for a tasty treat. Each dish was a feast for eye and belly...the pork was just one highlight, smothered in sweet onion and served with the most amazing potatoes..quite a triumph. The outdoor location is lovely with a great view across the marina with a cooling breeze. Service was so friendly and the atmosphere enhanced by the tasteful live band. The bongo solo was great too!

Italian restaurant
Italian-inspired restaurant Al Porto is situated right on the waters edge in Jolly Harbour, making it a convenient choice for boats visiting the area. The menu includes a variety of pasta and seafood dishes as well as cocktails from the bar menu. There's also an extensive dessert menu, perfect for after dinner drinks.
I've heard about the food here but I was never one to follow crowd but I'm glad I took the chance and dined here. I went during their pizza special but was tempted to try their pasta and I'm so glad I did, it was absolutely brill! Presentation, taste and portion (I couldn't even finish it 😅) Yes I'd pass again, they've always had ambiance and if we could have ordered, ate and left within an hour while they were fairly packed - I'd say service was an A+!

We made a reservation at Al Porto for a Tuesday night for 8pm, but it seemed a little unnecessary as there were many tables available when we arrived. However, I was quickly proven otherwise as the never-ending crowd funneled in to get some food. I ordered half a loaf of Garlic Bread as a starter and received a peculiar, triangle shaped item, with green specks and something that tasted like red onions. It definitely wasn't what I was expecting, but it was still fairly tasty. Next, I ordered the most delicious Old Fashioned Rum Punch I've ever tasted, as well as a Bianco pizza and my partner a Hawaiian pizza. It took about 15 minutes for them to come out, which was a pretty good turn-around considering the number of people dining that night. At first, I enjoyed the taste of my Bianco, finding it interesting and tasty, but I quickly realized that the pizza base was the same as the garlic bread, something that tasted a little pre-made or frozen. The Hawaiian pizza was only slightly better, but it tasted like canned red sauce and hard crusts. Overall, I had a good experience at Al Porto, but the food didn't impress me as much as I was hoping. The drinks are very good, mind you, and I would go again just for that.

Extremely helpful and professional staff, would make it more than 5 stars for service and friendliness. My friends and I ordered take out several times during our stay, and they went above and beyond to make sure the presentation of the food was on point. The tiramisu and pizza was delicious.

On my trip to Antigua, I visited this restaurant at the recommendation of my local tour guide on 21-Dec-2023. The food was excellent! Fresh seafood in a great ambiance. However, the server (Sh....)was horrible - basically the worst person I've met in a country filled with the most hospitable, kind people! She was rude and was visibly upset when we placed our order. My local guide was embarrassed and kept apologizing for her behaviour. Otherwise, I would highly recommend this restaurant
Harry Nandkeshore — Google review
We went to Alporto's for dinner last night, and it was very mediocre but of course it could just be an isolated incident. The waitstaff seemed visibly at the end of their rope in regards to having to deal with people and only checked in to take orders, deliver food, and clear plates. We had a calamari starter, which arrived promptly and was good. I then had the pasta Al pollo in cream sauce, which was truly awful. You could taste that they pre cook the fettuccine en masse at the beginning of service and it had been sitting for a while before they incorporated it into the sauce. It tasted slightly stale and unseasoned and had an unappetisingly soft/ falling apart texture. I only had a strawberry crush, which was surprisingly bad for such a simple drink. I would recommend the use of a purée next time instead of whatever artificially flavoured strawberry syrup they had on hand. The location is gorgeous; the view of the harbour is just phenomenal and I love the natural grape vines hugging the terrace. If you go, I would advise you stick to simple, easily made dishes like pizza and calamari and have water to drink.

This place has it going on! Went there multiple times and the Italian food is legit and the service is excellent but can be a bit slow when it gets packed xcept when it's super busy. It's nice to sit by jolly harbor and see the boats, but they don't fully capitalize on the potential view. Ive had the bolognese several times and the pasta is truly done al dente as it should be. I wish they'd their Caeser salad was a bit more chilled but it's a decent take on a classic salad. The shrimp cocktail uses a sweet chili sauce in place of traditional cocktail sauce and it's good. Pizzas fly out of this place like crazy, and they are dark good as well with a great weekly pizza special price.

Tuesday pizzas are 33XCD!! Superb deal for top quality food. Perfect size for pizza lovers , majority of the table took slices home 😋. Have had quite a few pastas from the menu overtime and Thursdays evening is a Pasta buffet for only 69XCD!! A fantastic way to sample different dishes and I assure you will return an any given day with a favourite! Great food at great value. Beautiful atmosphere and settings overlooking Jolly Harbour 🤩

HOLY COW. This place is BEYOND incredible. I don’t write reviews ever but I have NEVER been so impressed by a place. The waiter was so kind and a lovely person! The food was SO SO SO GOOD. I recommend the chicken roti and the goat curry! Not to mention that there is such a nice view of the water and marina! Thank you so much Petals!

We've eaten at Petal's Cafe three times since we've been in Jolly Harbour. Each time the food has been amazing (especially the veggie roti)! The coffees (iced and hot) were very good. The service is very friendly, however at least once our food took 75 mins to come (they have a very small kitchen).

We are staying in Jolly Harbour, so this was the closest breakfast spot, but it was a charm to find! The servers are so polite and kind, like you feel right at home with them. While it takes a while for your food to come out, the kitchen is small so it's understandable. And the food is so worth the wait! Everything came out piping hot and insanely delicious. The bacon just melts in your mouth and the breakfast roti is so filling! Even the milk for your coffee is heated for your convenience! If you are close by, definitely stop by Petal's. You won't regret it!

What a great find! We are on a sailboat, and didn't know anything about local restaurants. While we were at the marina, we happened to walk by Petal's Cafe and noticed the amazing breeze blowing through the restaurant on a hot morning, but it didn't diminish the enticing aroma coming out of the kitchen. We decided to stop for breakfast. We had the breakfast roti, and the French toast. They were both tasty, but the roti was perfect! Crispy outside, cooked well on the inside, wow! We met the owner, Petal, and she was so friendly and willing to visit, although I know the restaurant business is very busy. She's a beautiful person with a great heart. We have a new favorite here.

Wow...what an awesome place. First, mega kudos to our gracious server, who was the only one on with a fairly busy lunch crowd, and she was awesome. She also made the best lime squash! The food is delicious...and beautifully plated...great spicy BBQ wings. wraps and pretty salads. The marina view and gentle tropical breeze makes you want to hang out right through dinner. So we'll be back! Gotta get up early enough and try breakfast!

Disappointing after reading so many positive reviews. $40 US dollars for one drink and a basic garden salad with four medium/large prawns on top! The salad had nothing but lettuce, The dressing was served on the side and was "meh". I should have been suspicious when I saw so few people on a Sun afternoon. Such a waste of money when there were so many other good restaurants nearby!

We came here to watch the world cup final and reserved a table accordingly. We arrived early to get one of the better tables in front of the TV, but one of the servers disputed our reservation and tried to put us in a corner. It was resolved when the owner came out to see what was happening, which was appreciated, but I feel like this argument was a big reason as to why we had poor service for the rest of the day. We had to ask for menus, as we were ignored for more than 15 minutes after our whole party was seated. I watched other people seated long after us get menus delivered to them and the servers took their orders for food. Finally, when we flagged down the server, she came to our table. She was writing down our order, but she kept getting confused between what one person was ordering and the other. It took multiple corrections for her to get our table's order correctly. From there, the food came out relatively quickly, maybe 15-20 minutes for our plates to come out, but I can understand why because the portions are tiny. There was a little portion of potatoes, two thin pieces of bacon; the eggs were the same size as the entire rest of my meal. That was a bit of a disappointment after the extended wait, but at least we had something entertaining to watch. I also ordered a mimosa and a Caribbean Romance which were fine, nothing special. Overall, the entire experience was soured by the way we were treated by the staff so I did not return to this restaurant for the duration of my stay.

Visited for lunch and really enjoyed the quiet seaside vibe. Service was excellent and cocktails were tasty. I had the spicy chicken sandwich which was a little dry but still tasty. Husband has the seafood chowder and salad, both were REALLY GOOD.. make sure to get a little house made hot sauce for the chowder on the side. It's a subtle but flavor packed kick to the chowder that was delightful. No pics. We were too hungry and forgot 😋

Our host was the delightful Valentina, who was passionate about the local cuisine with her touch of Italian, I have personally ate lobster all over the world, from France, Italy, Jamacia and more, and ordered it here Grilled, I can honestly say it was probably the best I have ever eaten, loads of meat, a nice butter sauce, my wife had the Lasagne (I take pride back home with the cooking and my signature dish is home made Lasagne) she told me this is better! I tasted in envy to only agree!!! Can wait to go back on a live music night, highly recommended eatery in Jolly Harbour!!! Had to add to this review!! Credit where it is due, we came back here again on a Tues night, we had the mahi, and passion fruit prawns, mind blowing!!! And the evening entertainment was a band that got the entire place dancing. Gem of a place!!

i wasn’t so sure when i want to eat at first, besides their menu are little bit confusing with the mixed lunch option and all that, so I went for the 6 course meal, you can really have the one with drink option to go with the meal. it’s truely a festive taste. will definitely go and try the one with side drinks next time. great view by the sea. I went for the sunset view, but i guest lunches are better? you can have the option of drinking by the pool.

Service and food were excellent. A lovely destination. We did feel a little bit cramped on our table as they seem to be a lot of tables squeezed together but would highly recommend the food as we had an amazing lunch here, looking over the scenic view the focaccia was so good! As were the wings and the sugar cane mojitos!

Excellent menu with well prepared dishes with interesting twists. I thought a few of the dishes had "one too many things on the plate" and there was a tendency for under seasoning. Several interesting takes on dishes. The atmosphere was outstanding!!! Watched the sun set while eating dinner with the waves crashing on the rocks just below.

We wanted a special treat to celebrate our stay on the beautiful island of Antigua 🇦🇬 in style. The sunset experience was booked in advanced with the helpful Sheer Rocks team. And what a treat it proved to be. The restaurant is right on the water - for those arriving by taxi then walk through the hotel, past the bar and look for Sheer Rocks signs on the steps. Our sunset experience table was even closer to the water, and we saw pelicans and a white ray during our time there. There was a day bed and pool to dip into had we wanted to. Cocktails from the bar were excellent. Waiting staff really looked after us. Tasting menu was really special with local fish and soft juicy rib courses. The star was the mint and chocolate ice cream with dessert...so extra minty and refreshing. Outstanding night and more magical memories of this island Thank you Sheer Rocks team 😎

Food was good but not amazing/what you'd expect for the big price tag. We had the 6 course tasting menu. It was good but not good value for it's price tag based on my experience of trying many restaurants' tasting menus. I think you are paying a high price for the experience of the restaurant.. we had a table right by the water and reservation time was at 6pm so we still had some nice sunset experience. Experience if dining by the water is great. I would definitely eat here again to experience sunset, but would not recommend the tasting menu. We had the chicken drumsticks and calamari tapas two nights before and they were excellent - would definitely be back for tapas. Service was great but wait for food is long. 6 course menu took 3 hours.

This iconic restaurant was voted best restaurant in the Caribbean, not to mention Antigua, and for good reason. It’s absolutely gorgeous in every way. Located down a series of steps and built into the rocks, this stunning restaurant seems to blend into its surroundings. Natural materials, wood, bamboo, rope and linen are all used to great effect in creating the intimate dining spaces.  A pair of mongoose played on the branches outside as we sipped cocktails looking out at the most breath-taking coastal vista. You can choose to dine on the upper level which is more intimate and more sheltered than the more open, exposed lower levels further down the steps, past one of the two beautiful plunge pools. Impressive day beds jutting out over sea are available for relaxing after your meal. We opted for the tasting menu, which was excellent, all the dishes were tasty and beautifully presented, the wine list was extensive and reflective of the opulent surroundings. Needless to say, the staff we’re efficient, friendly and attentive. I’m sure the bill was certainly on the pricey side, but I couldn’t care less, it's worth every penny. If you’re on the Island, you seriously must visit Sheer Rocks at least once. If you’re celebrating a special occasion, then it’s a no brainer this has to be your first choice. Online booking is available. Wow, what a holistically incredible dining experience not to be missed.

We just left after our 20th anniversary dinner. Atmosphere 10 out of 10!!!!!! Beautiful sunset🥰🥰. Had a little issue and not only the server, but also the manager and the chef took the time to apologize. Issues happen 🤷🏼, but the way management took care of it was 😘😘😘😘. Dessert was as amazing as the views. Thanks for making our anniversary dinner a memorable one!!

This is a must visit venue, the location is 10:10. It can get busy, but within moments of arriving you will see the charm of the Caribbean unfold especially if you are there for sunsets. Considering the size of the venue it still feel intimate and the team work super hard here to make your visit special. It’s not a cheap venue and prices are very fair but what the kitchen can muster is simply excellent. NO WONDER they have won so many awards

Amazing service and amazing location at a tapas style lunch venue attached to, but not part of a hotel resort also offering food options in generally the same location. Food was very good and well-prese ted and my wife’s lobster and shrimp were delicious, however most of the rest of the food - though good - didn't really reach the hype we had heard about Sheer Rocks reputation. My overall recommendation would be to go for a drink and maybe have a bite at the resort dining choices. Might be a better value. Also SR might be a great dinner options… cannot fault the service nor views!!

Had a lovely evening at Sheer Rocks, with beautiful sunset over the horizon. Presentation for meal was great, meal itself was good. Good, atentive service. Shout out to Kenya, she upgraded this review from 4* to 5*. In overall I feel like this is a perfect spot for a romantic dinner rather than for your normal dine out experience as you got a lot of privacy but lacks of restaurant atmosphere as every table has their own spot with "walls" between them. Not a issue during the day though.
