Port-au-Prince

Port-au-Prince, Haiti’s capital city, sits on the Gulf of Gonâve. The Musée du Panthéon National Haïtien honors the nation’s history and founding fathers. The Iron Market, a large 1891 covered bazaar, has produce and handicraft vendors. Nearby is the immense Notre Dame de l'Assomption Cathedral, reduced to a ruin by a 2010 earthquake. Colorful gingerbread-style houses from the turn of the 19th century dot the city.

The museum is nice. It has a good collection of artifacts and paintings. Unfortunately you cannot take any photos inside. If you visit make sure to go around the garden and perhaps visit the restaurant in the back garden.

Learned quite a bit of history here. The restaurant was closed for renovations. There's a nice garden area in the back for pictures. If you don't speak French or kreyol, be sure to ask for a tour guide to walk you through the museum. And of course, no photos allowed inside.

Was not destroyed in 2010 earthquake! A large number of historians believe Haiti was the first place Columbus landed in the Americas. The museum covers more than the slave revolution and does an excellent job tracing the history of the Taínos and Taino artifacts, There is a section of the museum which shows the brutal life of a slave with original chains. What sets this museum as a gem in the Caribbean is the display of the original anchor of the Caravel of Christopher Columbus, the Santa Maria measuring 4 meters high. A MUST SEE in the history of the Americas!!!

It's a calm place, very pleasant... Food quality is excellent but the services are low... Had to wait for about thirty minutes before being served what I commanded... They should improve the delivery!
Gabriel Kendy — Google review
The service can be hit or miss depending on which waiter you get. However, I always enjoy my time there on terms of ambiance and vibes. The clientele has expats, mulattoes and the elite but its still....VIBES. Love it. Recommend it. Its only vibing on Wednesdays but everyone knows Magdoos is where to be on a Wednesday. It's cute. Go there! Have a gin Basil!

Not my 1st time and neither my last at Magdoos. The place is in a nice spot in PetionVille and has a wonderful decor. They have a bar and a restaurant w both indoor and outdoor seating. The food is good and they serve good amounts of pita bread and hummus and also a small snack. The food tastes good, but i think the owners could expand the menu to add a wider range of dishes. There is wifi available and is a good place to work while enjoying good food. I had their Moscow Mule which was very tasty! Prices in USD and on average 15usd for a main course. Cocktails around 7-8usd. They also serve wine.

Undoubtedly, Papaye is renowned for its exceptional Creole cuisine, making it a must-visit dining destination. Its talented chef, Mrs. Sorry Faubert Adrien, showcases her skill and innovative flair in preparing delectable dishes that reflect the rich culinary traditions of the nation. The restaurant's tasteful yet simple decor creates an inviting ambiance, with a prominent use of chestnut accents symbolizing the abundance found on each plate.
The food is amazing and has been for more then 10 Years. We are talking international standard that one could compare with any restaurant around the world. The kitchen is small so expect a delay if the restaurant is packed. Check your bill like you would normally would. Sometimes the waiters accidentally put items on the wrong table or bill

Went there a couple of years ago and the place was very nice, elegant and cozy. The service was good and they had amazing food! The drinks, lamb chops, beef, sides, everything was absolutely delicious including the desserts. Very highly recommended when in Haiti.

Problem with this place is inconsistency. You're never sure if you're going to get the same experience as you did the last time you went. Sometimes it's fantastic. Sometimes it's mediocre. Also, food portions are too small and it is overpriced. Especially on bottle service.

Such a beautiful place, with Mupanah next door. Lovely restaurant in the middle of the garden. Very interesting to see Mupanah as an American to see a Non-American perspective of Columbus' landing on Hispaniola, as well as the leadership history of Haiti. Also got to see the anchor of Santa Maria which was really cool.

PortoFino is a nice Italian place! Great choice to have some family quality time for dinner or other occasions. You can celebrate with friends too and also enjoy a kid’s playground area in the back in case you have children with you. They will definitely have a good time! There’s a pretty wide variety of Italian dishes to choose from and honestly everything I’ve had so far was delicious. They sometimes have live bands there to provide some entertainment to the clients and it’s great. You can also get ice cream and gelato over there, so it’s pretty much a package! The prices are pretty good for the quality of the food and service. Overall, it is a good experience!
