Museums
The Fiji Museum, located in Thurston Gardens, showcases a diverse collection of archaeological artifacts and cultural exhibits that offer visitors an informative journey into the history and evolution of Fiji. Its impressive centerpiece is the Ratu Finau, a 13-meter long double-hulled canoe from 1913 that was the last waqa tabus in Fiji.
Informative and rich Fijian history. The signature of my paternal great great grandfather, Ratu Kini Nacagilevu, on the original Deed of Cession Document. (Vunisa Levu, Tui Tavuki)-Kadavu.

The museum has a collection of archaeological material dating back to 3700 years. Fiji being a multicultural country, I loved the fact that it not only had Fijian artifacts but also Chinese, Indian and different Pacific Island. I've always heard about Fiji's History but seeing it is different; I got to learn about how the ancestors made everyday objects.

Interesting stop set in a lovely garden. Here, you can learn about Fijian customs and culture. There is a small gift shop and a cafe on site.

Wonderful place, we drove to Suva just to see this. We enjoyed the Fijian history. It's a small but nicely laid out museum. Beautiful park next to it and you can have a quick sandwich and smoothie lunch right at the museum.
Rfritzjr — Google review
Interesting small museum that presents the history and culture of Fiji from discovery to English colonization and present day. The artifacts are diverse, including pieces of the HMS Bounty. My only disappointment was the lighting which made reading the descriptions of the artifacts difficult. Adjoining the museum is a wonderful coffee shop with seating on a porch overlooking Thurston Gardens with beautiful mature tropical trees. It’s more an arboretum than garden, but never the less worth spending time walking the grounds.

This was a highlight in Suva however I didn't give it 5 stars because it's not big enough! Fiji's history deserves more and I believe a bigger museum would be more respectful. I also liked the section in the museum about pastic waste and global warming. Amazing grounds and people... thank you for a great experience!
Hugh Lister-Barker — Google review
Authentic Fijian history incorporate with few other Pacific Island nearby Fiji. Not fully opened, but the first section has rich history, including how Indians from India brought, trade, skills and method of working on farm lands in Native Fiji.

Ticket entrance 10$ for adults. A lot of exposition, information about culture first people's on the Fiji. Flora and fauna. Locals boats, tools, part of life. Also have gift shop with souvenirs. Big part of park at that location. Enjoy your time for 1 or 2 hours there.
Vladislav Samuchev (vsamuchev) — Google review
Small but a nice place to visit when visiting Suva. Takes you back in time and tells you a beautiful story about Fiji's history. You can complete the tour of the whole place in a few hours. The artifacts are well kept and detailed explanations of everything. Good for a nice family outing in a rainy day.
Jeena Bhan — Google review
1 hour walk through. Wished the font were allot bigger and at eye level as most of the signs require squatting. I liked the timeline of the British empire and abolishment of slaves*. Was hoping for more charts of different tribes/villages and their practices. The gift shop has more books/info than the museum.
Lindsey Dia — Google review
It's great for Fiji. Pretty small with some updated (2023) exhibits. Pretty dark inside so it is rather difficult to read the placards on the exhibits. Nice gift shop and a good coffee bar. Grounds outside have bats in the trees.

Excellent museum in the heart of Suva, with a full size Fijian drua (catamaran style water vessel) on display. Lots of interesting ancient and modern exhibits explained with insightful histories. Entry fee is minimal and photography is welcomed. Curator was very friendly and helpful.

Air conditioned and well maintained. Nice gift shop with items perfect to take home. Excellent collection of Fijian historical items. Worth a look!

Not a bad place to start your day. A small museum if compare with other museum that i have been to, but it's a good thing that we don't need to spent too much time in one place.

Well organised small museum. Worth a visit. Entry is 5 Fiji dollars. Gives good idea about Fijian history and way of living in ancient times.

Colo-Suva Forest Park is a 2.5-square-kilometer national park located in a lush rainforest with hiking trails, natural pools, and waterfalls. The park is filled with tropical plants and colorful birds that provide a melodic atmosphere. Its altitude of 120m to 180m offers visitors a cool and peaceful respite from the hustle and bustle of Suva's urban life.
The water is cool and beautiful place to get away from fast life. If you're a nature lover, than it's the best spot to meditate and relax.
Ana Baleveicau — Google review
Colo-I-Suva Forest Park, nestled just outside Suva, Fiji's capital, is a pristine oasis of lush rainforest and cascading waterfalls. Spanning over 2.5 square kilometers, this protected area offers a sanctuary for both wildlife and weary travelers alike. Visitors can explore a network of hiking trails, meandering through dense vegetation and towering trees teeming with birdlife. The highlight of the park is undoubtedly the series of tranquil swimming holes and natural rock slides, perfect for a refreshing dip on a hot day. Cultural significance abounds as well, with the park holding special significance to the local indigenous community. Colo-I-Suva Forest Park is not just a natural retreat but a cultural treasure, inviting exploration and appreciation of Fiji's rich biodiversity and heritage.

These cool water pools are a must see for your visit to Suva. A short 15 minutes by taxi from the city. This is a beautiful national park and the F$5 is well worth it. In the heat of the day, a dip in several pools is the tonic travellers are lookong for, to cool off, relax and unwind. I recommend starting in the top pools first and working your way down to a the lower pool. Take a waterproof bag/pack with you, so that you can keep your valuables with you. Enjoy!

Colo-i-Suva is an amazing place for a forest walk and seeing small waterfalls along the way. The place is a bit run down. It needs repairing and signs because you will get lost or take a longer route and have to return back. We had to go to the forestry office which is about 200 meters ahead on your left, when the Colo-i-Suva entrance is on your right. The entry fee is $5 for foreigners and a dollar for locals (20th sept 2023). I had a lot of negative stories about robbery and murders at this place but we decided to visit it anyway. We were the only ones in the forest. The walk is quite easy. There are hardly any steep stairs. Just up at the end but not too steep. There are multiple small waterfalls. We were advised to take the track that goes with the flow of water. Something to look out for. When driving to the Colo-i-Suva car after the checkpoint, you will come to a fork. Take the left where the road slightly goes up. The car park is at the end of the road. You will see some traditional houses... secondly, walking, you will come to a fork. Just keep it right. We also took the left track but the track ends about 50 meters in. Thirdly, you will come to a track where one goes left and the other right. Keep to the left along the river. Soon you will be going up and coming to a car park. This place can contribute a lot to eco tourism. We definitely enjoyed this work. This is not for wheelchair users. Be careful as the track is slippery and some wooden bridges wobbly.

It's a nice place to go for a swim and chill with your family. There are several pools so it gobes you the chance to choose if you want some privacy. It does get crowded in the weekends. I've been told you do run the risk it getting robbed if you are too isolated or alone.
Amit Chand — Google review
I loved it. Much improved from when I last went. The scientific, english and local bird names on rubbish bins was a really nice touch. Loved the trails and the waterfalls. The bure's are nicely sheltered and have a fireplace too.
Tanya Nale — Google review
5/10 strength walk to the waterfall and natural pool. Could here bird chrping and monkey on tree. Big enough picninc spot as well near car park. Toilets were there but no hand washing facility eventhough 4 sinks were there. Might be ran out of water as ther to manually preserve it.
sunny shah — Google review
An amazing nature park to visit which is only 20mins from Suva city. They have trails, waterfalls, and a great big natural pools to swim in. Very safe as they have a central car park with security and bush rangers monitoring throughout the park
Darran Fisher — Google review
Nice bush walks with well mapped tracks. Staff helpful. It's worth going for a swim in the lower pools or any other pools situated throughout the area, which are a welcome relief from the heat. The downside is that the area is neglected with some tracks needing maintenance, locals leaving trash around, and lack of maintenance. Taxi from Suva is approx 15 to 20 dollars, with a restaurant nearby.
Noel J — Google review
Great, but you will get lost 😅 Definitely worthwhile to come here - especially on a nice day if you want to swim. We came in the rain, and were the only visitors, but it was still really great and lovely to swim and enjoy the walk. The walk is only a kilometre or two if you don’t get lost, but it is hard to follow the many paths. I recommend just sticking near the water and following it downstream as a rule of thumb. If it seems like you’re going back the way you came, you probably are. And if you are going in the opposite direction to the water, you are going the wrong way! The path is pretty well maintained, and it’s a beautiful little walk through tropical rainforest. Lots of places to stop for a snack if you want to bring a picnic.

Local jungles with waterfalls and friendly guides We came to Colo-i-Suva (pronounced as "Dolo-.." as we were told) in the middle of the working day around 2pm on a taxi. You couldn't get the tickets at the gates and needed to drive a little further to a ticket booth to get the tickets. I believe, all taxi drivers know about it, so it's not a surprise for them. We paid in cash and then walked to the park on our own. I'd probably ask a taxi driver next time to drive to the middle of the park and pass the gates as the first 30-minute walk is just a dirt road. The trail starts in the heart of the park where a lot of mongooses live and the trail is marked. We walked there for half an hour completely alone. Then we met a local family who works there as rangers. One of them has voluntarily agreed to hike with us. It was very lovely. He showed us local herbs, plants, and waterfalls. For about an hour we passed 3 small waterfalls, crossed a few creeks, were surrounded by the jungles all alone (no other people on a trail), and soaked in the last pool as a small cherry on a jungle experience. We then walked back 30 minutes and stopped a taxi (a lot of them passing) to get us home. In our opinion, it's worth it! A nice trail with a lot of smells, and sounds, no snakes, and a friendly guide just a 20-min drive from Suva. Though the trail isn't dangerous when not slippery, it's not a wheelchair-accessible.
Art — Google review
Absolutely beautiful rain forest experience. To enter this park, you need to first get a ticket by the side of the road and then drive around 800m into the forest to the forest car park. From there, you can take different hikes into the forest, taking 30 minutes to two hours, depending on your preference. Ensure you have proper hiking gear as some of the pathways are quite steep. It may be slippery in rainy weather.
Christian Seiler — Google review
It’s alright, everything is very dodgy. Not easy to get there and the taxi driver they rip you off. There are not sign on the trails so you don’t know where you going

We stayed here for one night recently on our way from the coral coast to ovalau……. Room was more amazing than we had anticipated, staff were very attentive and food was great! Only downside was the amount of stray dogs at resort. We couldn’t use the balcony as they all just sat there wanting food! Otherwise place was amazing would def recommend!!

Sri Siva Subramaniya Swami Temple

Mentioned on
Hindu temple
Sights & Landmarks
Sacred & Religious Sites
The Sri Siva Subramaniya Swami Temple is a vibrant Hindu temple located in Nadi, Fiji. It boasts impressive traditional Dravidian architecture with intricately carved wooden deities that were brought over from India. Visitors are required to dress modestly and remove their shoes before entering the inner sanctum, which is reserved for devotees bringing offerings. The on-site temple custodian can offer guidance and insights into the temple's history and significance.
We only viewed the outside, as we had not come dressed for an inside visit or tour. Need to have shoulders and knees covered (our mistake - we had read modest dress online but weren’t sure how to interpret until we arrived). But even what we could see from outside the temple grounds was absolutely stunning. The use of colour and attention to detail were second-to-none. For those wanting to visit, I had no doubt its worth the fee. Just dress the part (I took a picture of the sign to help future travelers!)
Alyssa Becker — Google review
Cute temple, not too large. Entry fee is 5Fijian Dollars. You need to cover yourself and they provide some clothes for this purpose (free of charge). You need to leave the shoes before entering, as for tradition, but the floors are very hot due to the sun and rather dirty. So my feet were black adter the visit.
sara fraccastoro — Google review
If you have few days in city worth to visit $5 entrance fee per person, 15 to 20 minutes there you will be done. If you miss this spot not a big deal, islands and beaches are way more fun. Also no shoes allowed from entrance gate, if you want to have not black dusty feet, wear dark socks 😉

The first stop of my tour was at the local Hindu temple of Sri Siva Subramaniya Swami. It was a very moving and auspicious place to at especially with sharing the experience with worshippers adorning garlands and ornate garments. It was very fascinating to learn from a local religious scholar about the trinity of deities and the significance of reincarnation. The temple is situated at the end of main street Nadi town.

Great tour of this beautiful temple. The murals on the ceiling of the temple are a sight to behold..stunning.

Beautiful place, very colourful. Easy to visit. Just follow the instructions with regards to dress code and photography and you will be all set. Great when you are in Nadi and around!

The Sri Siva Subramaniya Temple is a Hindu temple in Nadi, Fiji. It is the largest Hindu temple in the Pacific. It is at the southern end of the main road through Nadi. The temple is built in the best traditions of ancient Dravidian Indian temple architecture. There are few entry restrictions in terms of clothing and photography within temple premises. Ample parking spaces available. Puja offerings are available for purchase as well.
Joydip Sinha — Google review
A very simple temple with colorful painted walls, ceilings and structures. What you think are carved woodwork from far away are just painted line work. Make sure to be covered up and go early in the morning so your feet aren't on the hot ground barefoot.
Jen N — Google review
The outside is amazing unfortunately the temple was closed to visitors and didn’t open again until we left. The colours etc are amazing and sure wish we had a chance to go in. But we will be back so we will do it next time

Absolutely beautiful First time seeing a temple Wonderful experience
Danie Myleen — Google review
I went to this temple during my few hours in Fiji whilst waiting for my next airplane. I've done some research and came across this magnificent beauty full place that would be easy to visit and get to. When I first saw this place I was filled with aw. The temple it self is so beautifully built with colourful decorations. There is some rule to entre though. Entrance fee is 5 dollars Fijian, and all are not allowed to wear shoes inside the area. But it was fun walking bear foot as it was just raining and the floor was wet soothing to the touch. It's a place I definitely recommend all to visit even just for a short time. I got a chance to embrace myself into the culture and it was all worth the time there.
Mark — Google review
Such a great experience to walk around this temple. Small donation fee for entry for tourists. No shoes or cameras are allowed when inside, so unable to capture the amazing artwork around the building for respect to the rules. Tourists should ensure their knees and shoulders are covered with clothing.
Luke — Google review
Beautiful temple and very peaceful place. You are required to take your shoes off to enter as well as make sure you are well covered. If you need a covering, one is provided for you. The paintings and decor are well done. There is a section that tourists are not allowed to enter unless you are practicing of this faith.
Melissa Previte — Google review
Looks nice however not properly maintained. Has parking. No shoes and hats allowed. FJD 5.00 for an entrance fee. A sarong will be provided and has to be returned. Recommend wear thick socks, kinda hot here. It is right at the town hence traffic jam is expected and heaps of road works. Drivers don’t yield to the right so be more cautious when driving on your own. Still would recommend for a tourist!
Arlene Barraca — Google review
Beautiful Hindu Temple in Fiji. Largest in the southern hemisphere. Would have enjoyed seeing the inside but our tour did not include the grounds or inside.

Auspicious temple - South Indian Temple - Lord Karthikeya. Remember to wear a sarong over shorts. Ladies and girls can wear long dresses. Next, enjoy breakfast or lunch at Sarvana Bhavan after visiting the temple. They have a fantastic wholesome meal for all palettes.
Sunita Bansdawala (Sunita Writer) — Google review
A compact Hindu religious compound, which continues to be expanded. One of the workers helped us begin to understand the starting shrine of the site and how the Hindu deities are interrelated with each other, with the site, with the worshippers, and with the culture. Definitely an active, worshipping temple. Was able to walk freely about all but the central worship space. As a photographer, found many scenes and Tableaus to capture without violating the rules limiting photography, without drones, to uncovered shrine areas.

Sigatoka Sand Dunes National Park - Visitor Information Center

Mentioned on
National park
Nature & Parks
The Sigatoka Sand Dunes National Park is a nature preserve that boasts towering sand dunes along the seaside, as well as picturesque trails, lookout points, and picnic areas. It was established in 1987 as Fiji's first national park and holds significant historical value with archaeologists uncovering pottery and human bones over two millennia old. The park also serves as the rigorous training ground for Fiji's Olympic gold medal-winning Rugby 7s team.
Being a local Fijian and not being able to visit our own heritage sites for so long got me thinking that it was time to go to explore. This hike is one of the most breathtaking. Also expect to lose your breath.. if you are taking the long route. There’s also a short route that I recommend for those who don’t want to go through the more than 4 km walk and climb through the dunes. But definitely those views from the tops are sooooo nice if you are taking a long route. There’s few rest spot all throughout. You can take as much time as you want. Take enough water. We were 2 people and 2 water bottles weren’t enough for the long route. Climbing the dunes is crazy... be prepared to lose your breath. The final walk from the beach to the information station took us forever cause the sand was so thick. The open ocean view will be one to climb the tops too but you won’t be able to swim in those. It’s pretty rough. The final walk through the forest was my favorite. Calm and comforting. Do this if you are in Fiji or if you are visiting Fiji 🇫🇯

Open (Dec 2021) and entry 5$/adult. Worth it as it’s a wonderful set of walks through the bush, over the very unusual and impressive dunes, and down to the beach. We spent a great morning there. Attendant was helpful, too! Vinaka.

Very beautiful. It was a pretty long hike and it was very very hot. You need lots of water and need to wear appropriate high top walking shoes. The jungle was amazing, the beach has actual waves. There is a museum before you take the hike. There are fruit bats in the jungle too.
Aaron Ikaika — Google review
Great hike to enjoy nature at its best. To really experience it take the 2 hour hike. Be careful to locate the exit from the beach to your starting. Start early in the day as it can be hot and take good supply of water.

FEES: $10 (Tourists), $7 (locals) Great for hiking. Walked yatolekaleka trail onward to UA lookout. Not for the weak. Wear closed shoes, either proper hiking shoes or sneakers. Remember, pack: *Hat *shades/face-cover (in case grains of sand fly into your eyes- it gets windy) *water *light snacks

Entry is $10 FJD per person. There is a two hour walk to some very impressive sand dunes with the route going along the ocean.
Eric Weisberg — Google review
The Sand Dunes were my first stop after landing in Nadi. It’s an hour drive from the airport and worth the visit. There is a 1 hour or 2 hour loop you can do that takes you through the sand dunes, along the beach, and through a forest where you can see butterflies, bats, and other wildlife.
Paul Lee — Google review
Sand dunes in Sigatoka offer a thrilling and enjoyable experience for adventurers seeking unique natural wonders. These magnificent formations provide a remarkable landscape that captivates visitors from all over.Although the climbing aspect of the sand dunes may require some physical exertion, it undoubtedly adds to the sense of accomplishment and excitement. Ascending the steep slopes can be challenging, as the shifting nature of the sand makes it a strenuous task. However, the arduous climb is greatly rewarded once you reach the sand and sea nearby. Immerse yourself in the sights, sounds, and textures of this unique environment. Feel the fine grains of sand beneath your feet, savor the salty breeze on your skin, and witness the ever-changing patterns created by the wind. It's an experience that touches all your senses and reminds you of the beauty and power of our natural world ,hidden spots and ancient secrets. The possibilities for adventure and exploration are only limited by your imagination.

A good excuse for a walk affording lovely views along the coast, Not your traditional Fiji beach photos. Tracks were well marked and information centre staff very friendly. 1hr walk only took our family 45 mins. It was very windy which was not ideal as the sand blew onto our legs which our youngest found unpleasant. The highlight was seeing and hearing the bats.
Michelle Bennett — Google review
Beautiful national park with well maintained trails and signage. However, it can get slippery when it rains. It costs F$10 per adult (+ surcharge for credit card payments). It is extremely sad, that there is so much rubbish on the beach! No wonder, we saw locals just throwing garbage out of the car. They have such a beautiful country. It's sad that people don't pay attention to it. We were collecting as much as we could carry, but it is just to much waste lying there.
Katharina S — Google review
Bring water and good shoes! We didn’t and sweated like pigs…. We did the 1 hr trek but you can also do the 2hrs one also. It was nice to experience the Dunes 🙂
MARTIN GAGNON — Google review
Sooo worth it but there is zero shade from the sun. We thought this hike will keep us from burning but boy we’re we wrong 😑 use a hat, slap on some sun screen and come super early in the morning or closer to the evening. We did the two hour hike and it was very manageable minus the beating sun. No intense incline hiking, signage was good until we reached the sand dunes. By that point we just went back the same way we got up. Took us an hour and half to complete but the ppl on site did say if we continued with the loop the ocean breeze would have made it easier to complete the hike. All in all a great cardio, parking was safe and staff was super friendly.

Breathtakingly beautiful tropical gardens. Lovely and shady which ensures the walk is not too challenging. Complimentary fruit juice after the walk is a nice touch. The upkeep of the gardens must be horrendous and some of the gardens and paths are in need of serious repair/maintenance. Better signage required and more info and maps would be useful. The orchids are magnificent. A very peaceful and beautiful place to visit.
Nick Davey — Google review
Beautiful oasis near the airport. Take your time and enjoy the hammocks. The juice is instant artificial orange flavor (really popular in Fiji) but still tastes great with ice on a hot day
Lief Friedrichs — Google review
Off of the main street, it’s a rough and rocky drive for about 6-8 minutes to the garden. A suggestion would be to add an arrow pointing to the direction of the garden once you approach the fork. The garden is unkempt and run down. The stairs and trail to the forest section are SUPER SLIPPERY. There are NO caution signs so be careful. Many sections are roped off so you cannot proceed throughout the garden. The lily pond needs major attention and the reception/seating area where you enjoy your tropical drink afterwards is dirty. The chairs are covered in dirt and don’t look like they’ve been cleaned in months. Don’t expect to see a giant laying in the garden; it’s nowhere to be found. The place has potential and could be so much more welcoming. The refreshing drink after your wander is a nice gesture and tastes delicious. We didn’t go during orchid season but we did spot a few pretty blossoms. I wouldn’t put this on the top of my list for things to do in Fiji. Cash only if you decide to waste your time.

Such an amazing oasis of calm. We took our toddler in the pram and most of it was pram friendly but there were some bits we had to carry him around. The flowers were incredible and the views were awesome too. The staff were super friendly and offered us a free refreshment after the long walk. A great activity to do for a couple of hours around Nadi!

A nice place for a nature walk. Lots of beautiful orchids there. Very peaceful. It’s free and you can stay as long as you want. The also have an are for juice drinks.
Raymond Herradura — Google review
The place is in need of serious repairs, just for basic safety. It definitely wasn't as beautiful as I was expecting, but it got 3 stars because it was hiking, and the view from the second lookout was worth the hike. I wish it went further into the jungle, however the neglect of it left it unsafe to do so, even for a regular hiker, most of the walkways have rotten or about to break, this is such an untapped resource, and definitely isn't worth the $25 you pay at the gate, but it is worth the $18 you pay online. So buy before..
Barry B — Google review
Great place to go with people or even alone, like I did! I really took a lot of time stopping at every bench and taking every path and spending time at the top of the hike, spent about 2 hours there but you can easily see it all in about 30 min. Beautifully taken care of wooden deck trails and pretty, small hike at the end. I took a taxi from Martintar/Nadi area and the driver waited around for2 hours for me and we settled on $60 for the round trip and to wait. Can be a little tricky to get a taxi back from there
Jacob Carmi — Google review
Flowers were simply stunning. I saw some varieties of orchids which I had never seen before Hike was quite doable for people who hike regularly and those who don't exercise as often. I wouldn't recommend it if it was extremely hot, as it's not covered. (Sun is directly on you for the nearly all of the hike.) Drink at the end was wayyyy too sweet -- it tasted like the Tang drink that they had back in the 90's early 2000's

Is a very nicely done garden and nice places around. The orchids are truly AMAZING and plenty. You can do a walk around in the forest, short or longer and walk up to a lookout with a beautiful view. Entrance fee is 25 Fiji $ and a juice drink at return included. For me was well worth it!

The Garden Of The Sleeping Giant was an amazing attraction to visit cultivating the Pacific’s largest collection of orchids. It’s a fairly easy meander through the garden track for an hours being in awe-inspiring natural feats of beauty with man made influenced structures. At the of your tour, you get to enjoy a refreshing fruity beverage which is welcomed. Highly recommended!

Beautiful place that is called a #1 attraction for reason. We didn’t make it all the way to the top (it was very hot and humid and we had kids who were getting tired) but I’m sure if you do, the views will be just as beautiful as anything else in this welcoming country.
Olga Morozova-Gelmici — Google review
For those that like/love the outdoors, the Garden of the Sleeping Giant well worth the visit. There is a step climb to get to the highest lookout but well worth the hike 🚶‍♀️. Great view when you get to the top. Then, upon return to the starting point, you get a sit down and receive a glass of ice tropical juice to refresh before moving on. A map for those who do not have a guide past the orchids would be helpful as at the time of posting this review, they were doing renovation/repair work to the Garden walk tracks

Beautiful and worth the visit. During our visit, it was clear that some very much needed and overdue repairs were underway. But overlook the construction and areas in need of renovation, and you are in for a virtual Garden of Eden experience. Wonderful tropical garden in a beautiful setting. It is just brimming with orchids. Organized tours seem to rush you through with a brief explanation. If you are into flowers and plants, I would suggest booking on your own so that you have time to fully explore.

We visited with my family over christmas. The woman who attended us was super friendly and explained clearly how to walk safely with the rain and muddy weather. The gardens were very well maintained with a large variety of tropical plants and trees both transplanted and wild. Beautiful look out points and places to sit and enjoy the gardens. There was complimentary juice at the end that was perfect and refreshing after the walk with a nice sitting area. I recommend bug spray as its humid and buggy however with some bug spray we thoroughly enjoyed our visit.

Walking through the sleeping giant gardens, it felt more like a tropical paradise than gardens at the bottom of a mountain. It was really nice to spend some time here relax and just take what nature has to offer. We need to walk all the way to the top, and the views are absolutely incredible. No need to worry about hiking shoes. We did it in thongs and it was no struggle. Just make sure you have time and take a hat. The refreshing drink at the end delivered by the team of lovely hostesses was nothing short of needed!

Firstly the 2km road off the highway is super rough and pot holey so proceed with caution! It costs $30 adult entry, cash only. We weren't at all amazed by the place. Rather somewhat bored and felt ripped off. Not as spectacular as they make it out to be. Took pics anyway cos we were there.. The tropical juice at the end tasted like they'd mixed up a sachet of Raro and was very sweet. Don't waste your time and money.
Giselle Sigglekow — Google review
Garden was beautiful. Boardwalk was broken in sections and closed. Would have liked to explore more. Still, overall a worthwhile place to visit. I would've liked to see names of different plants and flowers and had something to read about. I'll give it a 4 because of the beauty, but it could definitely be improved and maintained better.

It is quite a hike to get to the actual lookout, but it is a nice walk if you just want to enjoy the orchids and shade.

We loved the Kokonda , cooked white fish in coconut cream served cold, it is outstanding 😋 The Vegetarian Curry platter with roti, pumpkin, and papaya dishes is excellent! Vinaka!!! #EatWell

Me and my husband visited the ocean view restaurant tonight. We are actually staying in the hotel 10 minutes away the outrigger beach resort. But decided y to o have a nice stroll here. We were greeted by a lovely lady and were seated. The staff are absolutely amazing, very friendly and smiley. I ordered the chef’s special which is a curry the flavours were impeccable. Very very reasonably price indeed. And the quality of the food was spot on. We enjoyed it so much that we are going back for breakfast tomorrow morning. If you are this end of the island please visit you will not be disappointed

The food at the Ocean Terrace is excellent - top notch and so much more reasonably priced than Outrigger. Standout dishes we had were the Mahi Mahi, creamy coconut lime chicken, the Chef’s special chicken curry (a feast) and of course the apple pie for dessert! To top off the food, is the amazing service from the staff here. Special thanks to Vini, Bulu and Bill for their warm service! -Jack & Ben

Really good value when compared to inflated prices at the nearby restaurants at The Outrigger. The Ocean Terrace is by the ocean with great views and awesome meals (e g. Chicken Stir Fry for F$ 21). Highly recommend.

Found this restaurant on a drive from our hotel in Denarau. We rented a car and as it was a wet day, we just wanted to roam. Knowing that we wanted to go to the coral coast, this restaurant happened to be in the perfect location for us. Just over an hours drive from Port Denarau. The staff were friendly, food came quickly and the covered patio gave you views of the pool and across the road is the ocean. We snuck in some awesome snorkeling across the road after our awesome burgers.

Every lunch and dinner was delicious, my favourites were the wahoo curry and the baked Mahi Mahi. Live music at dinner time was very pleasant and the restaurant had a good atmosphere. I would recommend sticking with savory dishes as the desserts were not as good.

A small cosy cafe at the corner of a busy round about at the town end. Good breakfast & coffee options at reasonable prices. Atmospheres casual and relaxing with air condition. Foods alright. Friendly and helpful staff. If you're after a small and casual place for coffee or lunch this is a great spot. Lautoka doesn't have many of these places available. Would suggest a fly trap though. 👍

Nadina Authentic Fijian Restaurant offers a genuine taste of Fiji with its wide variety of local dishes like Kokoda, Fijian Fish Curry, Garlic Mussels, and Pork Belly. The warm and friendly staff are accommodating to dietary needs. Situated near Port Denarau, the restaurant provides a lively atmosphere with live music on certain days. It's known for its refreshing waterfront location and superb Fijian cuisine.
Strongly recommend this place. So many local and seafood options. I wish I had a bigger belly to try everything. We are so glad we made it to the restaurant for amazing food that couldn’t find at the hotel or nearby. Will come back if we have a chance. The staff is so friendly and the view is so nice.

We wanted to try some authentic Fijian food during our stay near Port Denarau, so we tried this restaurant. We came on a Tuesday evening and there was a live band playing music. The ambiance was lively and the waitress was friendly as well. The food was good too. You can taste the perfect mix of seafood and spice. If you want to look for a place to eat at Port Denarau, this is the restaurant to go. The price is a bit expensive and geared for tourists, but the food and service was worth it.

Amazing food! Wish we found this place earlier in our trip. We went twice and they have the best Fijian food. Amazing Kokoda- best we had in Fiji. Delicious spinach soup. And amazing seafood dishes. We also enjoyed the stir fry. And they were so kind to our baby boy. Highly recommend.

My only regret in fiji is not finding this place until our last meal there! Ordered chicken wings,Fijian fish curry and sirloin steak. Spirit pours in cocktails were generous and authentic. Wing portion was a little disappointing, but they were incredibly delicious. Steak was tasty, good portion, fresh, cooked medium rare (more on the rare side) which worked well as was served on a hot plate, accompanied by mash potatoes and a delicious peppercorn sauce. The curry came with an accompanying feast and the presentation was absolutely top notch. Be sure to check the photos, and the staff are wonderful.

We came here for lunch today after seeing so many positive Google reviews and left happily fed by delicious food. Special mention to friendly and five star service by our lovely waitress Ana. We ordered the mixed seafood signature kovu and the ika vakalolo (fish with coconut cream). Both dishes were super delicious and yummy - great level of spice that is paired with rice, cassava and Fijian fresh vegetables. All the dishes ordered comes with carbs of your choice and vegetables. Highly recommended if you are looking to try some authentic Fijian tasty cuisine with some mild spices. With the Kovu, you will need to wait for 40 minutes so if you are not rushing somewhere - this is a great dish to order and wait for. Great experience all around. Will be back! Thank you.

Took my mom for her birthday and they had the table decorated a little fancier than the others and mom's chair had a gold net shawl draped on it. Food was amazing and the drinks were killers. They're pretty generous with the alcohol portion. Aggie was a hoot. She kept us laughing the whole time we were there. Only reason I didn't give 5-star is because food took a little longer to come, but would go back just for Aggie.

Great place to experience local Fiji cuisine and flavors. We came for dinner without a booking and the staff were so friendly and accommodating to our group. They also answered all our questions and made great suggestions based on our tastes. We ordered the Fijian fish curry, garlic mussels and pork belly along with some Cassava chips to start with. The meals were sensational! Don't forget to sample the Kava drink on your way out to finish off your meal.

We enjoyed the food and service, thank you guys!☺️ Our fave was the salad with grilled octopus that we reordered after finishing our shared couple of starters. The octopus was tender and charred perfectly. The kokoda was also a lovely dish. It was a hot lunch day but once we got settled, we actually liked being outside because of the nice breeze. We would love to return!

We spent our 31/12/23 at Nadina restaurant. We first wanted to get a seafood plater but we were advice by the waiter that it s going to be too long and its better to go with another dish. The cocktails (Mojito) was delicious. The Kovu seafood we chose for dinner was amazingly delicious. We highly recommend the mussels with garlic bread and Kovu. Octopus also was so tender and excellent. We decided after this wonderful diner to book for our last night in Fiji but this time for a Seafood platter and this time we wanted to make sure that it was possible to get one. We called many hours before our reservation but the waiters were not that kind on the phone and finally we did not know if we could get a seafood platter. Unfortunately, we decided to go elsewhere as we needed to be sure to get a seafood platter before our departure the next day. Overall the food there is undeniably delicious but the service on the phone need to be improved as they could loose a lot of clients simply like that.

What a great gem to find in such a touristy shopping area. We wanted to try some authentic and influence free Fijian food and I’m so happy to report that this was amazing. Started with the cassava and dalo chips, which was fried yucca(cassava) and taro with a tomato sauce and rourou dip. Also had the ota miti, which was a sort of salad with a fern leaf from the hinterland of Fiji, with coconut milk, onions, tomatoes and scallions. It was really tasty, like a cross of lettuce and celery flavor wise. For the main, Kovu was ordered, they offer it with fish, seafood, chicken or veg. Fish is traditional, but we opted for chicken. The fish is an ancient way of preservation using turmeric, ginger, lemongrass, coconut and onion, wrapped and steamed in a banana leaf. It was very tender and the traditional flavors were so deep, and the side of rice just sopped up the super flavorful coconut broth. Also order an Indian influenced chicken curry, which was great, with rice, roti, dal and salad. The service was great, we came when there was a typhoon coming through and the staff was just great. Always checking on us, always making sure we had enough drinks and were enjoying the meal. 10/10

Japanese restaurant
Daikoku Restaurant Suva is a Japanese restaurant in the city of Suva on the island of Viti Levu. It offers a variety of set meals with meat and seafood choices, as well as rice and miso soup. Reservations are necessary for seating, but the restaurant generally has availability for walk-ins. The food is consistently excellent and award-winning, making it a must try for anybody visiting Suva or Fiji.
Tried their Max chicken (3 course chicken meal)option which the chef cooks in front of you. Everything is really good the quality of food the quantity as well. Only suggestion is that the ambience can be a bit brighter and the chef should be more interactive. Our chef was lovely but did not say a single word during the time she was cooking, which was a bit awkward. Other than that the price per person is pretty affordable.

It’s for sure a must try restaurant in Suva. There are about 20+ seats in the restaurant and so you must make a reservation in advance. There are choices to choose from a-la-carte or you can choose a set with varieties of meat and seafood with salads. Rice and miso soup.

This place could do with some renovations and new decors to brighten and liven up the interiors. Food was OK as I expected more as it seems to be overhyped by people who recommend it. Service staff could benefit from a refersher training on how to serve people and how to practice good personal hygiene. Like do not pick your nose when serving customers.

I recently dined at Daikoku and tried their Max Chicken with Tempura Prawns. The food was absolutely delicious! The flavors were on point, and I really enjoyed the combination of crispy chicken and succulent prawns. However, I have to say that the service was a bit disappointing. The staff was conversing in Fijian, which my friend understood, and it seemed like they were talking about us. That made us feel uncomfortable. Additionally, we were asked to move from our table to sit on the side chairs, and the staff member who told us to move had a very rude tone. Overall, while the food was great, the service and ambience could definitely be improved. I hope they take customer feedback into consideration and work on providing a better experience for everyone.

Arrived Suva at 9pm and was so hungry. Fed up with hotel restaurant/cafe so we went out and looked for something more interesting. From google map the closest restaurant which ranked the highest is Daikoku (with good comments by google local guides) so we just went there. It was already 9 something when we arrived but there are still lots of people there. As mentioned by other google local guides, the staffs and chefs are local people. Of course I wouldn’t compare this with the local authentic Japanese cuisine in japan, but having Japanese food here in Fiji and food cooked by a non-Japanese, I would say, it’s excellent! We ordered two sets of Teppan Yaki and the chef cooked food in front of us. We were amazed by his skills!

A great place in Suva for a dinner that is also a bit of entertainment. I love watching my food being prepared in front of me. I chose premium teppanyaki set that included beef tender loin, lobster, prawn, salmon, fried veggies, miso soup, steam rice, vegetable salad, tempura or sushi entre to choose from (I got tempura prawn, fish and eggplant) and fresh fruit to finish up. Chantara Thai Restaurant at Radisson Blu Resort, Fiji is a must-visit dining spot for those looking for an authentic taste of Thailand in the heart of Denarau. The restaurant offers a relaxed, semi-outdoor setting with views of the resort's waterfall feature.
I judge a Thai restaurant in their Pork Penang curry. This one had a great flavour profile, and the pork was exceptional. We also had a Pad Thai with prawn and a Chicken chilli and cashew stir fry. All enjoyable dishes. Would come back.

We are staying in the neighbouring resort but heard that this restaurant is good so we just had to try them and it didn't disappoint. The location of the restaurant created a nice dining atmosphere. Overall, I had a good experience at Chantara Thai. The staff are very welcoming and friendly, and there is a good outdoor Thai atmosphere. The menu is broad and offers a slight and well performed Fijian twist to traditional Thai dishes. Before ordering we were brought out a bowl of traditional Thai crackers, which were quite nice. The food is very tasty and has an excellent texture. The meat in both my chicken skewers and beef was a bit overcooked and dry, but this was only the performance of a single chef and visit. Once we informed the waiter Lote, who was very professional, he and his manager quickly rectified the issue. Overall it was a great experience, but only one of a 4 Star restaurant.

We ordered what we thought was the chicken cashew nut dish but it was far from it. It tasted like chicken teriyaki. We also had the sizzling seafood plate, it has 2 little prawns and 2 mussels….. the rest was all vegetables (not much vegetables). The only thing we ate and enjoyed was the 2 entree servings of spring rolls. The customer service was amazing though. Very friendly. However, we won’t be going there again.

Delicious food! Satay Gai was a fabulous starter option! Had the Pad Me Chaw for main & absolutely loved it! If you’re after a slice hit, I’d recommend the ‘Khao Pad Kiew Wan Gai’ (green curry). Our server Mary was lovely and attentive. Had the chicken sate which was good. We ordered the pad Thai which we couldn’t eat due to it being way to spicy. So we sent it back and order fried rice . Being from Southeast Asia, we know how Thai food should taste like and this restaurant is the best in Nadi area. It meets our expectations. This restaurant is located in Radisson Blu resort. Even though we were not staying at the resort, they allowed us to walk in. We waited about one hour for a table because it was fully booked. The dishes were authentic and delicious, maybe the tom yum soup could be more spicy as we are used to the real Thai style. Pad thai and fried rice were delicious too.
