Pizza restaurant
My spouse and I have been visiting Coffin Sally, a popular destination for almost a year now, making it our go-to spot for date nights. Without fail, week after week, this establishment consistently serves the most excellent pizzas we've ever tasted (and I mean the absolute best). We've even traveled to Melbourne and Sydney in search of what we would consider the "ultimate pizza experience," but nothing compares to what we find here.
Amazing pizzas, we considered going back for more after scarfing down two of them. Despite being under the pump as one of the only places open in town due to a COVID staffing crisis, service was friendly and the food ready exactly when we were told it would be. Would love to come back again when its not takeaway only.

There are so many great things to say about this place. The vibe is extremely unique, such a cool Voodoo-esque interior. The cocktails are absolutely brilliant. The pizza, incredible, a really well thought out and varied menu, everything was well seasoned, just super tasty. It's just so so dope. Me and my partner had an awesome time. Thanks!

Getting a bit average guys. Pizza base is average no great flavour 25 buks for a 10 dollar Pizza Lift ya game.. maybe try some salt and pepper even.. i guess because we get so much tourists you aren't to worried about return customers? Or have you become money grubs.. spends less make more

Was recommended this place by the hotel and it did NOT disappoint! Great flavours of pizza! Wide variety of drinks. Service and conversation was great, including spot-on suggestions for food and drink! One point- do ask the origin of the name Coffin Sally... so awesomely Australian!

What a great pizza. Not only were the staff friendly and able to handle special requests, but more importantly the pizzas were fabulous and were a cut above your ordinary pizzas. Would thoroughly recommend this pizzeria to anyone travelling through Port Fairy.

Pizza was really good 4/5, however, I found the pizza dough itself could’ve been cooked just a little more to make it the bit nicer. Nevertheless, great pizza. The team was really nice and all there produce is fresh and tasty! Oh and it isn’t really dine in just few tables outside - small shop (this didn’t affect the mark).

Husband and I have been coming here every weekend for almost 12 months now! Definitely our permanent date night spot 👌 Week after week these guys consistently put out the best quality pizzas (and I mean BEST). We've been to Melbourne and Sydney to search for what we consider the "best pizza we've ever had" and nothing has been able to top this! Such a good vibe, super friendly staff, top quality ingredients, large variety of drinks, I mean what more could you want? Huge love to the Coffin fam ❤️✌️

Pizzas and beers were heaven in a great friendly relaxing atmosphere. Cheers guys. Great place we accidentally found when looking for dinner.

Fantastic experience - the mushroom pizza was delicious and bar by the fire was great on a cold evening.
Grant Holtes — Google review
I have been here a few times now and every time has been great. The pizzas are delicious - they are the perfect size to either have to yourself as a meal or to share as a snack. The toppings are generous. There’s a great drinks menu with cocktail and beer specials, including non-alcoholic options. Looking forward to going again.

Absolutely beautiful dining experience! We stopped in for dinner at Coffin Sally and loved it. The pizza and cocktails are amazing, the staff are all so kind, and the atmosphere is great :) Highly recommend!

Atmosphere, service and pizza was top notch! Definitely recommend if you're looking for a place with a good vibe in a small town.

Went 2 nights in a row. Staff were an excellent well oiled machine that made it look easy. Place was booked out and they could not do enough to help. Atmosphere food drinks and staff all excellent.

Literally 10/10! Food and cocktails were delicious and came out quickly. All the staff were so lovely and the whole place is just a vibe! Great little find!
Emily — Google review
The pizzas were very..very..delicious, although the prawn pizza didn't have many prawns on it... The base and pizza sauces were spot on. The menu would benefit from having some thick cut potatoes with rosemary and rock salt. The staff could have also been a little more welcoming and warm. The decor is really cool throughout.

Merrijig Kitchen is a charming country-style inn with cozy rooms and suites that offer picturesque river views. The establishment features a restaurant and bar, providing guests with a delightful dining experience. Visitors can indulge in a culinary journey featuring classic recipes and innovative kitchen adventures, all prepared with the highest quality ingredients. The atmosphere exudes luxury at an affordable price, while the staff is known for their knowledge of food preparation and sourcing.
Stunning. Quirky, comfortable and pretty accommodation. All the old features are enhanced but creature comforts abound. Rugs, cushions, blankets, shopping bags to name but a few, everything you could need. We had room 2 which has a sitting room and tons of space. An absolutely charming place next to the water and within a minutes walk of main drag full of independent shops. Only wish we could have stayed longer.
Sharon Bierer — Google review
The atmosphere of this place is amazing. The staff and the owner included have so positive vibes that you cannot feel nothing but happiness when you are in the Merrijig Inn. The old style of this cottage makes you feel to be in your beloved grandparents' house. Warm, welcoming and cosy. The food is prepared by the owner, she puts so much love and creativity in her meals that every bites you take is an explosion of flavour in your mouth. Everything is freshly picked from the garden and home made. The best experience we ever had in AU. Thank you all.

Absolutely divine food paired with exceptional service in a stunning historic building. We were definitely a difficult group, with 4 kids (2 whom were very young) who are definitely not the target demographic, nonetheless our waiters did their best to accommodate. The staff were so kind (kitchen staff providing fresh cookies to the curious children) and generally just understanding of normal child behaviour. The food was just incredible, every course perfectly balanced and a vast selection of drinks. While I don’t recommend bringing children they still will accommodate with enough notice. Only thing I’d provide feedback on is ensuring that the highchair has a tray and straps but realistically this is not a restaurant for children so won’t reduce my rating for this factor. Regardless, they made us feel so welcome and each bite was incredible. Thank you once again, we hope to come back… sans children 😂

Book early at this quirky inn with spacious rooms, brilliant breakfast and great location right across from the river and walking distance to Griffiths Island. My husband wasn’t so sure about the shabby chic decor but I was charmed and very comfortable in a large room and huge bathroom where I could relax in the oversized tub. There is also a separate shower. Baskets of fresh fruits and veggies added to the relaxing decor. I appreciated the high end sheets and amenities. Even though the inn is in a very old building it is lovingly kept.

What more can be said other than, fantastic food, amazing staff and a delightful experience. Food that changes on a daily basis so tomorrow will be different from today. What can be ascertained is that each time you come here you'll get incredible food and in tuned staff. Wholeheartedly recommend.

Dined there tonight and had such a lovely and memorable evening. Food and wine fantastic, service and atmosphere sensational. We also got great recommendations for places to see and eat at in nearby cities and still thinking of that blueberry pudding dessert.. highly recommend!
Regina Hultin — Google review
We had such a lovely evening here. The atmosphere was great - cosy but lively, and the food so delicious. Jenny Lee (allegedly and not relevantly one of the south west’s sharpest collectors) hosted us graciously with plenty of laughter and great suggestions. We thoroughly enjoyed the wine list as well. A must visit if you are around the area.
Anisha T — Google review
Went out for dinner here. Very over priced for not much food. Tiny peace of fish and red cabby for over 30 just rude. Lamb rack looked like came straight out of pack and put on the plate. Fat and meat not cooked at all not even slightly for 43. Nice beer but also over priced. Pocky little rooms to din in. D
Maureen Gavin — Google review
We were looking forward to our special evening at this highly recommended restaurant but sadly left very disappointed. The wines were terribly overpriced and our meals were memorable for the wrong reasons. My partners beef was a poor cut, cooked ‘well done’ instead of ‘medium rare’ making it too tough to cut, let alone eat. There was no juice or sauce to compensate. My highly anticipated lamb rack was bland and served with Dill and only a touch of mint. We could not find fault in the decor, staff or service which above expectation.
Vivienne Sprosen — Google review
We came in last minute at Easter weekend and managed to get the last seats at the bar. The food was brilliant, definitely chef prepared, the tavern offers a nice ambiance also. The bar offers a good seat if you like to sit and view the action happen. We loved it.

Just had the most delightful stay at Merrijig Inn - the perfect finish to our Great Ocean Road trip. The cosiest sleep in Attic Room 6, with clean and comfortable amenities. The staff provided friendly service with a smile, and we enjoyed our time in the inviting communal areas (with the cute chickens!) Have not stopped thinking about the delicious and generous breakfast spread, can't wait to come back!

Amazing meal in a cozy English pub-feel inn. Fantastic flavours with fresh produce and combinations. Staff very knowledgeable of menu, wine and products. Rhubarb tea was delightful! Close to town centre, easy to walk to.

We’ve been coming here on and off for 20 years and always hoping for the best. Unfortunately tonight’s meal was terrible. The croquettes & duck parfait were lovely but the pasta dishes were tasteless, dry and soggy. Not worth the money, very disappointing. The wines are are also ridiculously priced.
Elise De Smet — Google review
Great quirky b&b in a great location with the friendliest staff. Good breakfast included. Stayed in the attic room which is quite compact but more than comfortable. Opening window over looking the towns wharf.

Amazing, clean friendly place to stay 😊 The hospitality, food & how very quaint the room & facilities are. A home away from home. 🧘🏽‍♀️🧘🏽‍♀️ So relaxing. The restaurant is next door. They were so kind …..brought the menu to the room & we decided to eat in our front area so peaceful & relaxing area. Highly recommended. The menu was just exquisite & the service second to none. A place to stay, visit & definately eat at. 5 ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️

Lovely, quaint rooms upstairs for our overnight stay. The restaurant was fabulous in all respects - food, service, atmosphere. Great location close to marina and Griffiths Island. It is on the expensive end of the spectrum, and worth it.

A large group for my Sisters birthday. Lovely set up in the gardens under cover. Fantastic service, attention to detail. They had a great selection of beer, wine, home made cordial, all set up so we could help ourselves. The food was delicious and plentiful. They even brought a cake out at the end. Highly recommend ❤️
Karen Murata-Lau — Google review
We had a fantastic time staying at Merrijig inn and dining at kitchen. From check-in to check-out and everything in between, the team were welcoming, making it feel less like staying in accomodation and more akin to a weekend away with friends. The rooms are spacious, comfortable and nicely appointed. The food and drinks menus were both thoughtful, with plenty of local produce sourced locally and almost everything (that we could tell!) was made on site - including the excellent breakfast the following morning. Overall a memorable experience that we'd happily repeat on our next trip to Pt Fairy.

We love this place and it is our special treat to ourselves in Port Fairy! Can't recommend the food, the service and the atmosphere enough! It oozes luxury but at a reasonable price and offers the best of everything. Staff are super responsive and knowledgeable on all of the food prep and sourcing and cocktails are wonderful! Cant wait to return!

Absolutely fabulous dining experience, warm welcome, top top hospitality. Jenny Lee was our wonderful server, full of fun and experience, guiding us with her recommendations on stunning food with an explosion of taste and the most flavourful wines, we were thrilled with a wonderful evening, thank you all. You made our night.

We stayed and had dinner with some of our dearest friends and we could not have been made to feel more welcome. Every detail from When we arrived to drinks and dinner was delightful. Thai restaurant
Lemongrass Thai in Port Fairy is a popular dining spot known for its consistently excellent Thai cuisine and great service. The restaurant offers a varied menu with options like beef massaman curry, yellow curry with chicken, seafood combination fried rice, and honey duck. The staff is welcoming and efficient, making diners feel at home. It's advisable to book ahead during peak seasons due to its popularity. Additionally, the restaurant also offers takeaway options for those looking to enjoy their delicious food at home.
Very happy that we’ve walked far enough on Bank Street and found this restaurant. We were only in town for a night and hadn’t booked anything for dinner. They took us in although the place was packed. We’ve got a table for two right away and were set for our orders in no time. The roasted duck red curry and the Barramundi fish were absolutely delicious, we loved every bite. Highly recommend to come here. Lovely staff and great food for very reasonable prices. Thank you!

Most disgusting lemon chicken I have ever had. It was a chicken snitzel sliced up & served with a white lemon sauce. This cost $29.60 with a serving of coconut rice (which lacked the coconut). Lesson learnt, definitely not ordering from here again. 🤢
Pauline Johnston — Google review
We’ve been coming to this restaurant for several years. We love it. The staff make us feel very welcome and the food is very tasty. There’s plenty to chose from as they have a varied menu. These pictures show tonight’s meal: Yellow Curry with chicken, seafood combination fried rice and honey duck. All were perfectly prepared and tasted fantastic. I’d definitely recommend eating here

One of the best that food that I ever had! Everything was amazing but the desserts that were average and nothing special. The staff was "okay" but a bit slow

A fabulous night to complete a girls weekend away. Lovely staff and the food was absolutely on point. Best Pad Thai we’ve had since travelling to Thailand. Thanks for your beautiful hospitality.
Laura Barker — Google review
Great little restaurant in Pt Fairy. Excellent service from start to finish. The two front of house girls were efficient and very pleasant and everyone seemed to be enjoying the meals. I had the beef massaman curry and it was delicious. In peak season I would recommend booking as it is very popular. It was full when we were there off peak on a cold and windy night. Great value too.
Disey — Google review
We had heard Lemongrass was the best Thai in Port Fairy and overall we were happy with the food. However, we did wait over an hour for the entree to arrive. In fairness, the menu DOES say that there’ll be a wait but, it WAS a long time. The chicken spring rolls were great and I highly recommend them. The chicken green curry was great but, the chicken was a little dry. I still enjoyed the meal overall. I liked the coconut rice which had more flavour than most. The fried fish with 3 sauces was very crispy, and I loved the apple strips with it.
Gavin Southern — Google review
Quality Thai on the coast, this restaurant was packed around 7:30PM on a January Saturday night for good reason. Fresh vegetables, flavours subtle, still with a hint of home-cooked authenticity. Fairly priced, recommended, going back soon.

Absolutely incredible! Beautiful food, gorgeous layout, super service, affordable prices, I could not recommend this more! Very family friendly, I came here with 4 adults, 1 young child, 2 children and one tween and they all adored the place! Thank you for the fantastic experience! 😋❤️

Snuck in with out a reservation early. Staff were super friendly and accomodating. Food was on point. The lamb shank massaman curry was scrumptious and cooked to perfection. Great atmosphere - Highly recommend.

Blakes Restaurant is a charming and unpretentious dining spot that offers high-quality food in an intimate yet cheerful atmosphere. Visitors have raved about the generous servings and the exceptional quality of dishes such as lamb rack and seafood chowder. The restaurant's staff has been praised for their professionalism and hospitality, making the dining experience even more enjoyable. Whether you're celebrating a special occasion or simply looking for a memorable meal, Blakes Restaurant promises to deliver impressive menu options and superb hospitality.
Blakes is the best restaurant in Port Fairy. We ate their twice. The clam chowder is magnificent and their fish main courses were cooked to perfection. The atmosphere is like a private dining room and not too noisy. Their prices are very reasonable for what I consider a 5 star restaurant.
Nick Capper — Google review
Very tasty dinner here last night. The seafood chowder was superb. Good sized mains, fish of the day and lamb rack and some delicious profiteroles to finish. Poor lady on front of house was by herself and so very busy, however we had a nicely paced meal and some very good value wine. If your looking for a front of house job I believe they are hiring!
Gail Jones — Google review
We really enjoyed our dinner at Blakes recently. The chefs wife was very professional and helpful as maîtrede and we found the food standard well above average . The servings were extremely generous for the price and the lamb rack that I had and fish my wife had were cooked to perfection. We had the local Riesling from Basalt and it was crisp and dry and delicious. We are from Sydney and eat out regularly and would recommend this restaurant to anyone.
Gareth Axtens — Google review
Blakes lived up to its reputation in past reviews. The seafood is devine. Their signature dish is seafood cowder as an entree. It was excellently prepared and thoroughly enjoyed. My wife had the pan seared scallops and prosciutto, magic!!. If you are not. Fan of seafood Blakes has plenty of other options on its short menu to please the most discerning tastes. For main I had the charred lamb rump. It was well cooked and presented. Wine list is loyal to local producers. Great cocktails and selection of beers available. Its a delightful restaurant. The Matradee was very warm friendly and attentive.

Convenient location, diverse menu, gourmet food and good portion sizes. A must if you're visiting Port Fairy and want to indulge in some fresh seafood and fine dining. Make sure you book in advance as it's quite a small place with limited bookings.

Coincidentally, there was a cancellation as we called in person to check (as no one was picking up the phone!) Overall, nice dinner with above average set course meals but not particularly outstanding. Big portions. Friendly service.

We had a planned weekend away and booked at Blakes well in advance after reading reviews and we were not disappointed! The chowder was one of the best things I’ve ever tasted! Service was amazing and wine list impressive. We will be back!!

Wow, What a restaurant! Enjoyed our family meal (both vegetarian and non-vegetarian dishes). I was simply blown by my 'Smoked Tasmanian Salmon with crispy chat potatoes, poached eggs, beetroot relish and kewpie mayo'. Would definitely recommend this restaurant to anyone visiting Port Fairy.

Highly recommend! Great breakfast and awesome coffee. The gluten free bread was the biggest slice I’ve seen In a while and tasted great.
Michelle Attard — Google review
I was quite skeptical to eat here of the beginning, but yay man, food is more than delicious... all ingredients were so well combined, congratulations to the Chef. The first look of the Café doesn't take me on, but we had been offered to enjoy the courtyard and surprised me on. I over heard a conversation from a small kitchen window that the Chef asked a waitress couple of times if the order was taken properly(not ours of course), so that built-up more trust on me to order food. Our bad was that we didn't go with the specials, but we will get back soon to try it. Thanks again to the lovely staff that shows an unforgettable foody experience at Port Fairy for first time there.

Terrific little café buzzing with people and positive vibe. Fantastic coffee, great kitchen and a good selection of sweets and ‘on the go’ brekky options. Coffee absolutely hit the spot and breakfast was soul filling. We were passing through the town, so happy to have stopped here and to experience the local spot
Tushar Kelkar — Google review
Travelling from Sydney I was very much looking forward to this breakfast based on Google Reviews. Food was tasty but I wasn't a fan of how it was presented. Having to disassemble and assemble to eat what I believed was what I ordered - Avo on toast with poached eggs was not ideal. There also wasn't enough toast for the amount of toppings. Food was a little on the expensive side for what we got compared to other breakfast on our trip. Hoping the owners will read this and make adjustments for future customers.
Jeff Vella — Google review
Amazing place and food. The combination of flavors and textures was amazing, we have really enjoyed our lunch there. We don't live in the town but we will definitely be back.

OMG one million stars! Honestly one of the best brunches I’ve ever had at any cafe anywhere (and I’m very fussy when it comes to food). I ordered the grilled halloumi salad and it was an absolute work of art. The coffee was great, staff were all lovely, everything arrived quickly and the vibe is spot on. If you’re visiting Port Fairy, this is the place to go.

Conveniently located in the heart of Bank St. Port Fairy, this cafe has a great mix of indoor and outdoor seating options. I visited on Easter Sunday and the place was buzzing with diners and people queueing for their takeaway meals and coffees. Despite the crowds, the service was quick, friendly and efficient. The quality and presentation of our meals were impressive, and were not only delicious but also generously sized. I particularly enjoyed my Toby Estate coffee, which was spot on! All in all, it was a great dining experience and I wouldn't hesitate to visit again. If you're looking for a convenient and friendly spot to grab a bite, definitely check out Bank St. + Co. in Port Fairy.
