Bicheno Blowhole is a natural wonder on the rocky coastline, where waves transform into powerful jets of water during high tide. This attraction is formed by the erosion of volcanic rock and constantly changes in size and shape due to the sea's forces. It's a popular tourist spot easily accessible from the town center. Bicheno also offers shops, galleries, and nearby national parks like Freycinet National Park and Douglas Apsley National Park.
Great place to stop with family. Nature at her very best. The walk is very easy from the car park. The blowhole can be sometimes small or not at all so visit on high tide and on a wild weather day would be my suggestion. Great photography opportunity with the red lichen rocks, views and of course the Blowhole. Just don’t get too close and watch the littlest ones around the edges.

Definitely worth the time to visit the Bicheno Blowhole. The scenery was amazing, even on an overcast, rainy day. The same sort of rocks you can find at the Bay of Fires, but with added blowhole! Easy to access, just a 2 minute stroll from the car park. Easy climbing over flat rocks to see this amazing place.
Cathy BlueTuesday — Google review
Came here at sunrise to try to get a glimpse of penguins with no success but did manage to catch a beautiful sunrise. The blowhole was doing its thing- tried to get it on camera but always managed to happen when I stopped filming. It wasn’t very big at the time But it was still worth witnessing Mother Nature doing her thing and reminding us how powerful and beautiful nature can be.
Alfred Tao — Google review
Beautiful place where you can observe the orange rocks of the Bay of Fires and little critters in the rock pools. I was lucky to spot some local wildlife on a rock offshore. There were some people camping in their van at the carpark. Nice little spot

A lovely blowhole against red granite rocks Different from the one in Kiama Blowhole in NSW But i find this one special Attraction rating 8.5/10
Warren Kok — Google review
The best sunrise I’ve seen in a while. The blowhole was okay it wasn’t that big of a tide during sunrise but doesn’t matter cos the sunrise is just magical. Recommend to go here and no walking just park and you can be there instantly so beautiful. Take a picnic blanket and some brekky and you’ve done mornings right!

If you're visiting Tasmania's East Coast, make sure to add the Bicheno Blowhole to your itinerary – it's a natural wonder you won't want to miss! Located in the charming seaside town of Bicheno, this blowhole is nature's own spectacular show. As you approach, the sound of crashing waves sets the scene for the excitement to come. Once you're there, you'll be mesmerized by the sheer power of the ocean as it sends plumes of spray shooting into the air. It's like watching nature put on a grand performance right before your eyes. The best part? You never know when the next big spray will come, adding an element of suspense to the experience. It's all part of the fun of visiting this iconic Tasmanian attraction. Whether you're snapping photos, feeling the mist on your face, or simply enjoying the raw beauty of the coastline, a visit to the Bicheno Blowhole is sure to leave you feeling amazed and inspired. So grab your camera and get ready for an unforgettable coastal adventure!
Vahid Shahani — Google review
Great place to visit for both the blow hole and to see penguins, but please respect the signs!!! NO TORCHES/LIGHTS AFTER DARK and NO PETS so you don't scare the penguins! Saw three people photographing the penguins with their flash on, and more idiots brought their dogs and a super bright torch. DONT DO IT. Respect the land and the animals!
Mel Yeates — Google review
This natural phenomenon can be accessed for free and is a true joy to look at. It was very fun being able to climb up the rocks and get so close to the blowhole. It was interesting seeing the small waves being blown up in the blowhole. Great for a short walk. A blowhole is a sea cave which grows inwards and up, resulting in a perpendicular shaft open at the surface. They occur when there is a weak joint in the rock and as the waves pound and erode the rock just above the waterline a cave is slowly but surely formed. As a wave hits the rock the water pushes through the length of the cave at ever increasing levels of pressure so that when it hits the surface then it does so with explosive force.

Nice spot to stop and visit on the way to the bay of fires further north. Best to be viewed at high tide. Word to the wise, don't get to close or you could get drenched. Easy access from the small carpark.
Ilan Kader — Google review
Great spot. The blowhole is great when the sea is pumping. The rocks look lovely at sunrise
Adrian Timp — Google review
18Sept23 Nice place for photos, be patient to video the blow especially if you want a big one. After this, you could drive a short distance to a lobster feast at the nearby Lobster Shack.
alan yong — Google review
Amazing. Easy access for everyone to enjoy and I love how it’s just expected that’ll you’re not an idiot and capable of making a judgement call and staying far enough away dependant on the conditions - that’s good because it means nothing is fenced of and no view is spoiled. The surrounding coast line is dark and broody in the water with some amazing looking kelp forest growing off the shore. The blazing orange lichen rocks hiding the penguins is a great explore and I also really admire the way you Tasmania’s respect the wildlife and simply tell people to stay away from the majority of the Karen’s and walk in designated routes. Brits would be climbing all over everything disturbing it all - hats off to the way you guys seem to absolutely respect the world around and appreciate it isn’t all there for your amusement. Well worth a look if you’re passing.
Martin Ball — Google review
When you are traveling east coast, you can stop here for a while. About 45 minutes drive from St. Helen/Binalong Bay. Carparks available. Free of charge. Able to get closer to the blowhole. I stayed here for 5 minutes or less than.
Sze Mei NG — Google review
Beautiful spot to enjoy with loved ones There are picnic benches scattered here The scenery is obviously breathtaking Slightly crowded but a great spot If you drive further down you will find yourself looking at governor island where penguins and seagulls resides and fish You can spend forever there ogling at the marvel these birds are!!
Harshita Rathi — Google review
The Bicheno Blowhole is a natural wonder where seawater rushes into a narrow gorge and erupts through a hole in the rock, creating a spectacular fountain of water. Visitors often describe it as mesmerizing and worth the visit, especially during high tide or stormy weather when the blowhole is most active. However, its performance can vary depending on weather conditions, so it's a good idea to check tide times before visiting. Overall, it's a unique and beautiful attraction that showcases the power of nature.
NEWLIFE4YOU — Google review
Must visit when you are at Bicheno or even worth the drive to see this beautiful place . Best time to go is when there is a high tide . The rocks are very slippery so best to take careful steps .
Meera Raja — Google review
Awesome place to visit. Unfortunately it started to rain while we were there but I did manage to take some nice photos. The blowhole was remarkable but you need to be careful to not get too close or you may get splashed.
Conn Xu — Google review
Better than expected. Crowded than expected but the waves were strong so it have a good showing the day we were there. Worth a 5 minute break. Just beware the odd big warm. Never turn your back to the sea.
Thai T — Google review
Yes more than worth the drive and walk both of which are scenic. But the blowhole itself is interesting and lovely to be splashed by the ocean. Again great colourful rocks.
Ross Daniels — Google review
Blowholes are such a fun sight. There's nice biodiversity within the rock pools surrounding the blowhole. We saw crabs and little starfish. Was such a lovely time.
swij uu — Google review
Let me preface this by saying, I'm not one for tourist traps. But the Bicheno Blowhole? It surprised me. It's not some grand spectacle, but there's a certain rawness to it that I found captivating. Standing there, the wind whipping my hair, I watched the ocean churn and crash against the jagged rocks. Then, BOOM! A jet of water erupted from the hole in the ground, spraying the unsuspecting (or perhaps overly enthusiastic) tourists right next to the viewing platform. Laughter, shrieks, and the surprised yelps of people getting soaked filled the air. I couldn't help but grin. It's a simple thing, really. Just a hole in the rock and the power of the ocean. But there's something about the unpredictable nature of it, the way the blowhole can go from calm to explosive in an instant, that makes it oddly thrilling. Plus, the bonus of seeing people get a little (or a lot) wet never hurts. If you're looking for fancy or awe-inspiring, the Bicheno Blowhole might not be your cup of tea. But if you're up for a bit of fun and a reminder of the ocean's untamed power, it's definitely worth a visit. Just maybe bring a raincoat, just in case.

Nature & Parks
East Coast Natureworld is a 150-acre wildlife sanctuary located in Bicheno, just 7km north of the township. The park features paths that wind through lagoon and forest areas, allowing visitors to observe Tasmanian mammals, reptiles, and birds in their natural habitat. Visitors can witness the feeding of Tasmanian Devils and get up close to wallabies, kangaroos, snakes, quolls, and other native Tasmanian fauna as well as non-native animals.
We loved feeding the kangaroos, watching the Tasmanian Devils fight over the food, and talking to Charlie the cockatoo. The staff are very informative and friendly. Natureworld is super fun to go with family and friends. (ᵔᴥᵔ)
Adrian Fox — Google review
A great outing! We were two of the four people that were there and had the place to ourselves!! Staff are lovely and very informative! Did get chased by some ducks (must of been a nest close by) but all part of the open enclosure experience haha. The kangaroos were super friendly, saw devil joey's 😍 and got to pat a wombat.
jademichell3 — Google review
Definitely a great tip for all animal lovers. We visited the East Coast Natureworld because we haven't seen any wombats yet. Even though there are wombats in Natureworld, they are shy and you have to approach the enclosures carefully otherwise they escape into their hole. Besides wombats, you can feed friendly kangaroos (not shy) and wallabys (very shy). Food for the animals is 5$. Furthermore you can purchase a private cuddle session with on of their animals. However I would recommend to cuddle a kangaroo for free as they are very friendly animals :)
Oliver Seitz — Google review
This place is excellent. The enclosures are big and well maintained. Lots of friendly animals to look at and kangaroos who just want a neck scratch. The Devil feeding is not to be missed. Fascinating and wonderful. Nat deserves a special mention for being able to preserve all her fingers while hand feeding five voracious devils. See the video! The aviaries are very big and could use some more residents. If you are in the vicinity make sure you stop by. Well worth it.
Peter Johnston — Google review
Definitely go and visit! The park is much bigger than I thought it would be. Make sure you stick around for the keeper talks. We had Dom who was patient with the humans and knowledgeable about all the animals he fed. Thanks for a great exoerience!
Mel Yeates — Google review
This was a wonderful surprise. Really lovely staff. Even the lady who served us it was her first day and she did a great job. We tried a tasty milk lab almond milk flat white and tomato and cheese toasty. Then went for a big walk around. The kangaroos are very friendly. Don’t be scared if they come close. They just want a snack. Go all the way around the land to the old coal mine and learn some interesting history too.
Jason Mills — Google review
Reasonably priced for families and the kids absolutely loved the experience, the talk for the devils feeding time was great!! The devils are quite shy and run off into the logs with their food but well worth watching them grab it and staying for the talk!
Laura Foster — Google review
Not a common occurrence to see devil's so awake and lively in the middle of the day. We were mesmerised watching them chase and pick fights with each other seemingly over nothing. Feedings 3 times a day makes sure you don't miss out. Was a great place to wander, we took our time and spent 3hrs there. Getting the $5 feed bag for animals was great, portioning them between roos, wallabies, ducks and other wildlife. Some animals were hard to spot given their nocturnal nature but got lucky to see the friendly wombat Jenny, albino wallabies, echidnas and plenty more.
Samuel Liu — Google review
This spot is frequently underestimated, yet it's genuinely exceptional! You can engage with freely roaming kangaroos and even pet them! Being able to observe the lively activity of numerous Tasmanian devils is the highlight, too! A visit here is unquestionably worthwhile, providing a distinctive experience unlike any other place! Lots of other animals too! 💕 Don't drive past it if you're taking the East Coast road trip
Adeline Chan — Google review
Not enough people are talking about this place. There's a great souvenir and gift shop as you enter as well as a cafe for all your food and drinks needs. Huge range of animals in the grounds including Tasmanian Devils, wombats, birds, reptiles, kangaroos, emus, and more. We were lucky enough to be there at 2pm for the feeding of the Devils. The keeper knew everything there is to know about Devils. Very informative. The staff were all very friendly and obviously love the animals. Check it out.
Glen Heaysman — Google review
Pleasantly surprised by this small wildlife sanctuary. Lots of friendly wildlife to feed - we even got to feed some pademelons! So cool to see tassie devils roaming around at feeding time. Well worth the visit
Amber Plail — Google review
Small place great value, knowledgeable staff. Most of the animals are resuce and old pets and they help with the university research. The devils in the dark was such a cool experience. During the day is a awesome up close experience. Thanks Natalie, you need a raise.
B Adams (Adams family) — Google review
This is a very beautiful and well maintained park. Small but with gorgeous views. Kangaroo were very tame and sweet. Tasmanian devil feeding was very interesting! Generally a very nice park to visit and relax with the animals. Toilets were clean. Very friendly and accommodating staff.
S T — Google review
Incredible experience here today! We arrived first thing in the morning and got to see all the tassie devils and quolls active and waiting to be fed. The exhibits were nicely set up and well-maintained, with a good amount of information about each animal. They have quite a few quolls, both the eastern quoll and spotted tail quoll, which were beautiful. A brilliant place to see a number of happy, healthy and playful tassie devils too. A lot of fun to be had for children as there are a number of walk-through exhibits with various wallabies to feed, including some white wallabies. We spent just over two hours exploring and I highly recommend it!
Jennifer Thomas — Google review
NatureWorld is the most stunningly located nature parks I have visited. The animals all seemed incredibly healthy with large enclosures available and lots of natural enrichment. It was $32.00 for adults to enter the park and $5.00 for a bag of food. The park focuses on protection of animals and their care. With lots of facts about the Tasmania Devil specifically and the facial disease they are suffering. Highly recommend a visit!
Lucinda Petchell — Google review
Had such a fantastic experience at Natureworld, including an encounter with baby tasmanian devils. Highly highly recommend, each exhibit is really well thought out with a quality number of animals you can go up to. Loved the devils, the white wallaby and the wombat named Jenny!
James Eveille — Google review
Went with the family and spent the morning here. The kids did the Tasmania devil encounter and wife did the sugar glider one. Well worth the money. The staff were delightful and very informative. The devil feeding was cool to watch and the presentation that went along with it was tremendous.
Brad Dawson — Google review
Great to see Tassie Devils, other animals great to. We spent 1 hour only, really glad we stopped. They Have cafe and gift shop. Parks like this won't be around unless we support them so take a break, low cost for such iconic animals.

Wine bar
The Farm Shed East Coast Wine Centre is a great place to enjoy wine and food in the heart of town. The staff are friendly and knowledgeable, and the wines are of excellent quality. The restaurant has a lovely garden setting, and lunch is especially good value.
Very stylish and relaxed atmosphere. Select from a range of gin, whiskey, and wine tastings, even create your own mix! That will be served with style, and the nibbles are not just your ordinary out-of-the-box kind! Beautiful relaxed background music finishes it off, fantastic!
Ben Hermann — Google review
You can do guided wine tastings here selecting 5 wines to try from the regions, or simply order a glass or two from their menu. There is also gin and whisky, and serves as a bottleshop. Friendly staff and a good space. During busy periods the staff mentioned that they may stay open longer than the hours mentioned on google which was great for our group!
Megan Howard — Google review
What a delightful and unexpected detour! Daniel was absolutely wonderful and took us through a thoroughly enjoyable and fun gin tasting session. Sue was most welcoming and really set a positive tone for the whole experience. A great way to taste the wineries and distilleries of Tasmania's east coast in one delightful sitting. We will arrange time to return on our next trip! A definite must if you are in town!
Vic P — Google review
A nice place where you can try wines, whiskeys and gins. The staff were very friendly. We were given an explanation of all gins and had 8 shots to try with some nibbles. Very tasty even though I don't like gin. Recommend

Amazing little spit to sample some of Tasmania's finest whisky's, Gins, and Wines. Fantastic selection and i recommended trying the taste paddles to get the full experience. Nice selection of nibbles to compliment the drinks aswell. A must stop if you are in the area.

Unreal experience. I managed to walk in on a quite afternoon. I elected for a whiskey tasting which is all selected by the owner which had a wealth of knowledge despite being more of a wine expert (so he told me) The 5 whiskeys he chose were superb. It was a very personalised experience, maybe I got lucky on a quiet day, but he talked me through each of the whiskeys, their backgrounds and where they are from and how they are distilled. Answered any questions I had. I would love to come back as the tasting boards are rotating. HIGHLY RECOMMEND. Thanks Farm Shed

What a fantastic venue. So well refurbished with great variety of craft beers, wines, gins & whiskeys. The Juicy Pale beer was superb. Luke, for a young person, certainly knows his stuff & was very hospitable. We wish him well & hope to return one day.

Loved this place, so aesthetically appealing. Not only the design of the space but how it’s put together and the quality of the Tasmanian gin, whisky & wines…as well as the creative pieces on display. The staff were friendly, well informed and welcoming. I had a 6 gin tasting for $30 - including warm olives, nuts & popcorn. Superb!

Thanks for your amazing hospitality at your dinner event on Friday night. Special thanks to the host whose friendly service and welcome was special, and to Lisa for the big favour, you're a wonderful lady. A beautiful place, run by a great team. We'll recommend to anyone in the area for sure.

Dropped in for a quick look around and left with some goodies, thanks to Katie. Passionate and knowledgeable about local wines and spirits, she recommended the perfect Devils Corner Riesling for our planned lunchtime prawn rolls on the beach.

Cellar door experience for both gin and wine tasting was top notch. The lovely Jo was so knowledgeable about all the wines and the guy (sorry, didn't get his name) with the gin! Great place to taste east coast wines (not all have cellar doors) and Tasmania's gin and whiskey with tasting plates of cheese etc. If you're staying in Bicheno you can walk and not even worry about a designated driver 😁

National park
Douglas Apsley National Park is a must-visit destination on the east coast of Tasmania, located just 20 minutes from Bicheno. The park offers a serene escape with its river trek and bouldering opportunities, providing refreshing swimming spots along the way. While some parts of the trail may pose challenges, the experience is well worth it. The park's picturesque surroundings make it an ideal place to take a break from coastal activities and enjoy nature at its finest.
Driest i have seen it here. But still worth the drive in and walk down and loop back to carpark
Jo Winch — Google review
Worth the drive from Bicheno when you want a break from the beach Can hike along the river with multiple swimming points. Was fairly quiet despite it being a hot sunny day. Dirt road, but no real issues with clearance etc

Pretty place to have a bit of a dip but because of the high water rise we couldn't "rock hop" to cross the gorge so couldn't hike or walk anywhere.
Rakhsh Appoo — Google review
This is the best walk so far in Australia!! If you like a bit of change on the walk track, this involves some basic rock climbing! The walk on the river can be done only when it's dry!! Highly recommended!

Highly recommend the walk. The trail is a little boring, with limited views, but the trek back bouldering along the river is exceptional. Lots of pools to dip in, but there are a few challenging sections, so be prepared for that!

Seafood restaurant
Lobster Shack Tasmania in Bicheno, Tasmania offers a delightful ocean-to-plate dining experience. With a picturesque setting and seating for 100, this fully licensed restaurant provides alfresco dining with water views. The establishment has become the standard for fresh seafood dining since its opening last year. Visitors can enjoy a variety of seafood options and vegetarian dishes while taking in the beautiful surroundings. The restaurant also caters to functions and offers takeaway options.
Yummy yummy delicious fresh clean seafood. Lovely hard working friendly staff. The premises is spotless. Husband and i shared a seafood basket. Was so nice. Cooked perfectly. No after taste of oil. No bad small of fish in shop. Staff cleaning constant. Highly recommend. Very fresh crayfish and prawns made up on platters ready to buy. The views are amazing. Dinner in and would definitely eat there again.
Mandy Purdie — Google review
Initially wasn't going to review but didn't want to be shellfish for keeping this place to myself. Ordered lobster rolls after recommendations. They are served in milk buns so they look like burgers. Lobster tasted fresh and damn I wish there was more of it. For what you pay I think it was reasonably priced. Added fries to our order and found them too crunchy. Friendly service and clean dining area and kitchen. Make sure you clean up after yourself or the seagulls will make a mess of the place!
Derwin Or — Google review
When you see the locals are visiting this place, that means you are at the right place. The food is priced at a high side, but we enjoyed our lobster roll a lot. Don't be surprised if it doesn't look like your normal roll. We thought it makes more sense to have it in the burger format. The lobster meat taste fresh, and has real muscle mass. It doesn't have too much sauce -- we like it really light and fresh. We didn't try other dishes on the menu but other patrons ordered fish and chips - they looked really good too!
Zhi Xiong Chong — Google review
Really popular spot in Bicheno! We got the shack pack which had a range of fried seafood which was nice, plenty of chips which were crispy and tasty. Lobster roll was alright, didn’t expect it to be in a burger bun but was still decent. Lots of seating with a view of the sea and easy parking. The blowhole is just down the road so we got takeaway and ate there.
Julian Seow — Google review
Ate here twice during my two day stay in Bicheno. Staff were lovely, food was fresh and great. View was good too, we even saw a rainbow. I have limited experience with lobster rolls but this is the best I’ve had! Their calamari, fried fish and chips were good too, and my favourite was the fried prawn. Their oysters were fat and fresh too.
Elaine Quah — Google review
Relaxing place to eat with a beautiful view. Was quite busy when I went but good was ready in 10-15 minutes! I got the garlic butter lobsters! The lobster was delicious, you could taste the freshness. The chips and salad weren't just a little side, I got a generous serve of both and for $55 I was very happy and satisfied. Ample parking available. Would definitely go back next time I'm in Tassie!!

$145 for seafood basket:decent half rock lobster、oysters、king prawns、some fish chips、smoked salmons etc. Should pick individual dishes instead esp lobster and oyster very tasty. but $20 for 2 beers are very much over prized.

We had the lobster roll. The meat was fresh but there wasn't much of it and a bit dry. The chips were great. Service was prompt and super friendly. Great waterfront location. We really enjoyed sitting upstairs.

Let me preface this by saying I'm a total seafood fanatic, so I might be a little biased. But wow, the Lobster Shack in Bicheno completely blew me away. The location itself is pretty dreamy. They have outdoor seating overlooking the water, and even though we grabbed a shady spot under the trees, the glimpse of the bay was incredible. It was the perfect setting for a relaxed lunch. Speaking of lunch, the food was phenomenal. Everything felt fresh and local, and the portions were generous. I dove into a lobster roll, and it was pure heaven. Huge chunks of sweet, perfectly cooked lobster nestled in a toasted bun with just the right amount of dressing. My partner got the fish and chips, and the fish was light and crispy, just the way it should be. The staff were also fantastic. Friendly and attentive, they made sure we had everything we needed and even offered recommendations for things to do in the area. Overall, I couldn't have asked for a better experience at the Lobster Shack. If you're in Bicheno and looking for fresh, delicious seafood in a beautiful setting, look no further!

When lobster meets shack... It's a winning combination. Great fresh seafood and plenty of outdoor seating - it can get a bit breezy so there's also seating indoors. Didn't take long to prepare and it was delicious. What more do you need?
Craig Harvey — Google review
Well worth waiting in line! Best chips in tassie so far. The hot seafood pack is great. The lobster roll could use a bit more lobster but the flavour was on point. Could imagine eating a dozen of these on the deck on a nice sunny day……unfortunately was a wet cold day for us when we visited
Maria Amodio — Google review
We had the $50 Hot Pack, it was delicious! Possibly a bit overpriced, but it's a touristy place so it's expected. The fish, prawns & scallops were beautiful, the calamari were a bit average. We also got the lobster roll, it was very tasty and had plenty of lobster on it. The view outside is lovely too, it's very relaxing to sit out on the balcony.
Cass Aitken — Google review
Omg, awesome food! All the seafood was so fresh and with generous portions too! We ordered the seafood chowder, lobster roll, their daily special spaghetti marinara & an oyster Kilpatrick (which was a little on the salty side but still good) Food & service all on point!
Eugene Goh — Google review
Best lobster roll in Tassie! We had heard about the Lobster Shack and it didn’t disappoint! We grabbed a table to take in the view but it was not long before our food was ready. We had the Lobster Roll and the Prawn take away pack. The lobster roll was really delicious and the prawns were large and super fresh! Would definitely recommend swinging by the ‘shack’ for some tasty seafood with a view!!
Sharyn — Google review
If you love seafood, then Lobster Shack is a MUST visit! Oysters very fresh and delicious! Prawns were so sweet and juicy! Lobster roller was amazing! 1/2 Lobster mornay was soooooooo good! Seafood chowder is a must try too!
Steven Tse — Google review
We were looking forward to our first "Lobster roll"....but it needs more lobster!! With the lettuce and mayo you could not taste it at all! Especially when it's actually called The Lobster Shack! I looked forward to a tasty treat, but was very disappointed! Also it wasn't ideal that when our order came, we had to carry our own meals up the stairs. To access this area, it is via an outdoor stairway and extremely windy!! I understand they were very busy, but better, safer solution is needed. Beautiful views, but operations need some tweaking! No ambiance either, just noisy. Chips were nice! And the other meals looked pretty good. 🙄

This place lives up to its name. 10/10 lobster roll. Fresh toasted and buttered brioche bun, crisp lettuce leaf then filled with fresh lobster meat with the perfect light and creamy dressing which they absolutely nailed so the sweetness of the crays still shone through. An absolute must visit! The chips were perfect, tasty potato perfectly fried and crunchy. Calamari and fish, again fresh, cooked perfectly with fantastic crunch. Exactly what fish + chips should be!! Selection of local brews were the perfect accompaniment. And the views were top notch, fab after a walk to the Bicheno blowhole 10 mins away. Locals secret is to take your food and sit on the top level or takeaway and take it to some picnic tables at the end of the carpark Keep up the amazing work team!!

Nice food. Their lobster are amazing! Good value for the money, seriously. The place was quite busy when we came. So fighting for a space is a quite challenge but they had upstairs room. Don't really have parking spot in front of the restaurant but we came on bad weather, no body was sailing, so we could park at the boat parking area at the front of the restaurant. If you visiting tasmania, you could consider stopping by at the place in between your destination.

Visited on a busy night for some take away. After 45 minutes of waiting turns out my buzzer was not working and the food was sitting there not under the pass. Very disappointing because I saw a staff came looked for a different customer a bit earlier and no one looked for us. When I picked up the food the staff told me "it's okay it's still warm." When I touch the base it's barely warm. I won't comment on food quality because my food been sitting there for way too long.

Absolutely loved our lunch at the shack. Hard to decide what to get from the menu as everything sounds great and surely tastes nice. We went for half a rock lobster and the seafood marinara. Utterly delicious and addictive. We’d come and eat here again any time. Pro tip for the kitchen on the marinara though: Don’t cut the spaghetti. Not only are you offending all of Italy (I’m being sarcastic 😄), it’s also impossible to eat without making a mess and having to launder your clothes. That sweet taste though… mmh.

Sorry but I can't really recommend this place. Over hyped for tourist's. We didn't have the REALLY expensive menu items, but what we had was better than Maccas. It was so stupidly busy at 6pm we got take away and enjoyed our snack over looking the bay. Service was pretty quick which reinforces just a fast food joint not really a good seafood joint. Not sure if the lobster roll had much lobster or not!!

Fantastic location. The lobster, though a tat expensive, was nice. The chowder was a bit of a letdown. Would love to see more seafood restaurants in Bicheno. Completion breeds excellence.

Came to try the lobster roll and returned for dinner. Great view, friendly staff and very fast service. The lobster roll was fantastic as were the oysters kilpatrick, the seafood chowder and the fish & chips. Would have been nice if you can order individual pieces as I would have added on a few other things.

The lobster 🦞 roll & chips were amazing we waited a year for it and didn’t disappoint. The extension looks great too! Well worth a visit and so close to the blow hole at Bicheno blow hole too!

It's my first time to have lobster. There are 3 choices of lobster: original, garlic and monay. I had original one that's nice and fresh. Recommended to sit outside and look the view. It's awesome. The price is expensive and busy around lunch time.
