Low-key cabins, some with kitchenettes & patios, in a casual hotel offering a bistro & a pool.
Awesome lodge in Jabiru! The cabin facilities were pretty basic and a bit dated but very clean and the staff super helpful. Quite possibly the best resort pool we have used anywhere! It’s massive, got a large shallow section but plenty of deeper parts, plus rock pools/waterfalls, spa, safety ledge all the way around the deep section and a huge sun shade that makes the pool usable throughout even the hottest days. Lastly, the pool was very cool and refreshing, unlike many pools in NT.

The cabins are clean and comfortable, however some of the furniture needs to be updated, like our sofa which was very uncomfortable to sit on. The management was very obliging and friendly. For a larger family who wants to have all amenities in a unit, this place is ideal.

This park has lots of room and you can choose where you park which was nice as we chose right by the pool. Amenities were were clean looking but never clean smelling and the urinals didn't smell fresh daily, the pool was a cloudy colour and had a dirt ring around the tiles. I had some alcohol stolen from my Ranger on night #1 along with several others (for the cost of $54 I would like more security) as it's a known issue. The staff should maybe not use the sun beds and leave clothes to hold them while there isn't many available for guests. It's an ok park, not amazing, the meals were nice
Justin Nelson — Google review
Overall was alright however a few things which could have been better such as having wifi in the rooms and also the soap in the ladies toilet did not smell fresh at all and smelt bad and the toilets and kitchen both seemed pretty dirty. The pool however was amazing and the staff were also very friendly and helpful.

The huts are cool and clean. Rather worn and faded. Could be the weather, but it's due some renovations. Lovely central pool. Food is ok. Wine lisence only from 6pm on. It's really a camping site, with some food laid on in the evening, and for those with the right equipment: a very good one, but not a Hotel as Europeans would know it.
Michael Healy — Google review
Simple park with a million powered sites to keep you moving. Very basic amenities but the pool and waterfall are perfect to cool off in and the wild caught barramundi at the cafe/ restaurant was by far the best I had in the NT. Dinners are pretty pricey though but it is in the desert so..
Kylie M — Google review
It was a nice and quiet place but the room was really dirty. no one cleaned up the room, and didn't even change the bedsheets and the kitchen was in the same condition but the only good thing is pool area. it's attached with a restaurant where we can enjoy food and swim at the same time.I just wish there were some vegetarian options for food available at the restaurant. Also, most of the BBQ places are not working. over all worst experience ever..

I loved this place, and I have been there twice heading to Wiligi. Food is great. Love the swimming pool last visit last month I had the pool to myself. I felt like a mermaid wallowing in joyful bliss. Rooms are simple, clean and comfortable. Could have been the alcohol but I slept like a baby. We had a boat and were told when checking in to take alcohol on board inside with us. As they have had a boat stripped of desired content. Great place will be back.

Just had the best meal of barramundi at the Aurora Kakadu Lodge Caravan Park poolside bistro. Beautiful. This park is impressive. Our site is huge. Great job you guys.

Have stayed here for work and thoroughly enjoyed the atmosphere. Awesome pool, cheap grog and delicious meals.

Loved this place! Gave us everything we needed - it was clean and the pool was super lovely! I just wish there were some vegan options for food available at the restaurant, as it was such a lovely spot to sit for dinner. I’ll be back if I’m ever in Kakadu again.

Booked a room for 3 in June. Smallish but comfortable beds and pillows. A/c works well. Fridge and tv in room but cooking done via common room or free outside bbq area. Well maintained grounds and facilities. Byo cooking utensils as they are limited in kitchen area. Pool is nice and cool.

Best choice to stay in affordable prices. Very clean with all the basics amenities in the room. Excellently reception, restaurant with best meals and a pool to relax!!! Very clean washrooms. Highly recommended

Stayed in a Lodge room for 2. The rooms itself is ok. It's very simple but essential thighs are present. It has a fridge and air conditioning works well. Price is average. CONS: shared bathrooms are not so clean and quite old. Room service consists only in a towel change, once every two days: nothing else. No WiFi in the room.
Andrea Bello — Google review
Park and location very good. Pool and bar area excellent. Quiet at night. But. We stayed for two night dearest park we have stayed at on this trip and locked car broken into on first night. Took all beer, wine and spirits including cold ones in fridge. Reported to front desk and they said that happens regularly. But your first in 2weeks. Luckily me. Police have been asking them for 2 years to install more cameras to help with the problem. Lack of security knowing it happens. Stayed in cheaper parks with better security. Sleepless night 2.

Excellent place to stay. Better value than Cooinda. Lodge rooms are comfortable, affordable and cool. Shared Bathroom and kitchen are well appointed. The campground has many nice camp kitchens and barbecue areas, it’s better than Cooinda, with only one camp kitchen. The pool area is huge and mostly shaded and the poolside restaurant/bar is very good.

Lovely caravan park , great location . Friendly staff at reception. Our cabin was fine but a bit old. Did have everything we needed. One of the most impressive things is the fantastic pool and surrounds. So nice with many lounges and grassy areas. Beautifully lit up at night. Has a fantastic restaurant there with a bar and delicious meals for both adults and children. Seating outside so gorgeous.

Visitor center
National park visitor center shaped like a long Aboriginal rock shelter, with a gallery & café.
This place was really great. The kids loved the informative displays. I did too. I liked that there was free tours attached to the park pass. I was sad that most had been cancelled. We were late in the season though so maybe that is why. A great stop in Lakadu anyhow
Team Thomas — Google review
Really enjoyed the experience. Took a long time to read the detailed information about the land, flora, fauna and how the Aboriginal peoples interact with it all. Extremely informative. Some of the exhibits were a little run down and in need of fixing the electrics especially. That would have made it 5 stars
david shaw — Google review
Great visitor centre to stop at with a really interesting display of animals and information about the local area. They also have cold drinking water available to fill bottles up before going into Kakadu.
Stuart A — Google review
Great stop, great rangers very informative. The centre is informative about the jabiru/kakadu region. The display centre could be upgraded with more recent details. Must Stop at to be informed about safety in the region. Very peaceful.
Brightone Nik — Google review
The staff member at reception was very friendly and informative, and it was obvious that this was once a great facility. However, the centre is very run down at present. In particular, the lighting on the many excellent displays was not working, and had clearly not done so for a long time. I had to use the torch on my phone to read many of the information panels. With some much-needed maintenance, this place could be great.

It's a lovely place for a refreshing stop en route to Kakadu National park. Here you can also purchase your entry passes on the counters for $40 per person (if you didn't already do so online). There's plenty of aboriginal work of arts to look at. The door handles carved out of tree branches (instead of the usual steel, crome etc) were amazing to look at!
Malay Adhikari — Google review
One of many amazing places that took my breathe away, the visitor centre had a lot of information that was absolutely valuable to me and me family, and the staff there were so beautiful and with a wide range of knowledge of the area...and not to forget the museum was incredible as you walk through, and don't forget the catfish that follows you as you walks pass.
saint maitie — Google review
I could be such a nice place! The information centre was unhelpful and only told me about the places that were closed, we ended up finding more information online. The cultural centre needs a good clean up and maintenance. I expected after paying to visit the park that the amenities would have being better taken care of.
Kassia H. — Google review
The visitor centre is a great launch pad for the rest of Kakadu. Firstly, there are super kind and helpful guides and rangers that assisted us in planning the ‘must do’ whilst in the area. Second, there’s a small museum which gives you a good overview of the history, flora and fauna of the area. Finally, it’s a nice place to stop and refresh with bathroom facilities and tables and chairs in the shade
David Maddison — Google review
Fast friendly service — we arrived 5 minutes before closing time and there was a lot of others travellers arriving too trying to buy park passes and book tours and accommodation. The customer service officer was inundated with requests for local knowledge. When she served us she welcomed us to Kakadu NP. And quickly verified our passes we bought online we’re valid. (We had no internet) The visitor centre has clean amenities too. Some Aboriginal artefacts adorn the centre. A welcomed place to refresh after our long drive from Mataranka. We then found more information at Kakadu lodge.
Mozinoz_ Digital — Google review
There's so much that could be explained about Kakadu but the small display here is underwhelming. If you've been to visitor centres at national parks in other parts of the world you'll be disappointed. Theatre was closed for maintenance, some of the displays worn or scruffy. No ranger talks or activities available during our visit despite the entry fee being significantly higher than other parks. No one at the info desk when we stopped by, but we did see a staff member nearby earlier so I'm sure we could have received help if we needed it.
Nikolai Pitchforth — Google review
A very informative display of how Kakadu is and how things have changed environmentally over may years.
Chris Hooper — Google review
Make sure to make this place one of your early stops as it is full of great information. They have accurate information on road conditions and free information booklets. They have artifacts, cafe, information, shop (tea coffee ice cream drinks crisps and sandwiches and cake) toilets and bird sanctuary which was under renovation in Dec 2017 when we were there.

Great visitor centre, you must see if you are in Kakadu. So much interesting information and story telling, friendly helpful staff. Plenty of parking

Jabiru Golf Course is a charming and quaint establishment that offers a variety of tasty meals on select evenings. The male patrons seemed content with the availability of affordable cold beer on tap, while the female staff member was delightful. This hidden treasure boasts exceptional service, delectable food options that change nightly, and an inviting ambience that attracts locals. It is an ideal place to socialize with friendly individuals while enjoying refreshing beverages like Ice Cold Bundy Rum cans.

This is a truely, welcoming country Golf Club, the locals are friendly and the Club House sells reasonably priced drinks and good food, seats on the deck overlooking the 9 th hole and stacks of bird life

Jabiru Lake, a lovely place for a BBQ and family. Kids can play on the playground, also available is a track around the lake to experience all types of views.

Good place to visit in Jabiru town. Have picnic areas, playground for children. Please be mindful of going too close to the lake. Be croc wise
Joydip Roy — Google review
Your view of the lake will depend on the season in Kakadu. Whilst it's certainly not one of the park's locations you'll write home about, it can be a nice spot to have lunch, burn energy on the playground, and use the amenities. The lake can be traversed bit stay away from the edge due to crocodile risk.
Andrew Nelson — Google review
Lovely grassy playground by the lake, and serene views of birds on the water....but crocs prevent getting close to water's edge.
Carmel Powell — Google review
Jabiru Lake is seriously awesome for just chillin'. You can totally vibe with the whole lake vibe, soak in that water scene, and the chill green fields around it. It's like prime real estate for bringing the kiddos, strolling your furry buddy, or even throwing down a little picnic party as the sun goes down. So worth it!

Amazing quality rock art. Mind blowing to be in a place the was inhabited for so long. Art trends and techniques changed with time even in ancient times! Great place for birding too. The big walk over the mountain is a must if you're up to it. Amazing country.

A mixture of ancient rock art,and some more modern ones from the 1960s as well. Signs to give some history and meaning to the art.

Access designed to keep paintings safe. Fabulous rock formations and spectacular location. Art relatively recent (within 1500 years, some quite modern). Spiritual place. Peregrine falcons calling nearby.

Title: Anbanbang Rock Shelter: An Enchanting Journey into Indigenous History Rating: ★★★★★ (5/5) As a keen traveler with a passion for exploring cultural landmarks, my recent visit to the Anbanbang Rock Shelter in Kakadu was an unforgettable experience. Nestled within the heart of Australia's Kakadu National Park, this rock shelter offers a mesmerizing glimpse into the ancient history and rich cultural heritage of the Indigenous people who once thrived in this region. From the moment I arrived, I was greeted by the stunning natural beauty of the surrounding landscape. The shelter itself, with its protective sandstone overhang, is a testament to the ingenuity of the Indigenous people who used it as a haven for shelter, art, and community gatherings. The feeling of stepping into a place that has been cherished and respected for thousands of years was truly humbling. The guided tour provided valuable insights into the stories and traditions of the Bininj/Mungguy people, the traditional custodians of Kakadu. The knowledgeable and passionate guide took us on a journey through time, narrating the significance of the ancient rock art adorning the walls of the shelter. The intricate paintings depicting Dreamtime stories, local wildlife, and ancestral spirits provided a captivating window into the spiritual beliefs and cultural practices of the Indigenous inhabitants. The preservation efforts put forth by the local community and park authorities were evident, ensuring that this sacred site remains intact for generations to come. I was heartened to learn about the collaborative initiatives in place to involve the Indigenous people in the management and interpretation of their cultural heritage, allowing visitors like me to experience this site with profound respect and sensitivity. Aside from the cultural significance, the natural beauty of Kakadu National Park added an extra layer of charm to the entire experience. The lush vegetation, vast wetlands, and diverse wildlife offered a picture-perfect backdrop for exploration and reflection. Visiting Anbanbang Rock Shelter was not only a journey through history but also a profound encounter with the living culture and traditions of the local Indigenous community. It left me with a deep appreciation for the resilience and wisdom of the Bininj/Mungguy people, and a renewed commitment to supporting the conservation of such invaluable heritage sites. I wholeheartedly recommend Anbanbang Rock Shelter to fellow travelers who seek to connect with the roots of Australia's Indigenous history and immerse themselves in the splendor of Kakadu National Park. It's an experience that will leave you enriched, enlightened, and with a newfound appreciation for the diverse tapestry of human culture.

Nice and well prepared walk through the rock formations and finally up to the viewpoint with a stunning view. Took me about 40 minutes (including taking photos). There are different sites with Aboriginal paintings on this walk. Parts of it are also accessible by wheelchair.
