Some wonderful wines available. However, customer service was incredibly lacking. Like some of the previous comments here, it needs to be improved. At other wineries in the region, we had respectful and friendly encounters whereas there was nothing too golden here. The woman who served us was dismissive towards us, which I believe could be that we look 'young and fresh-faced'. She was impatient, more jovial and attentive towards 'older' patrons, rushing us to leave. We had tried to make some conversation and ask good questions, but the whole experience came up a bit short. Stuck around for 10mins, bought 3 bottles that we liked then left. Never judge a book by its cover - we have adequate wine knowledge, had money to spend, and just wanted to find out a bit more about Granite Belt wine making. Don't just think we're naively living on goon bags and Fruity Lexia🙄 Try again.

Another great visit to the cellar door. This time we had the food hamper (salami, cheese, biscuits, olives, mushrooms etc). It was delicious and great value at $30 for 2 people. Highly recommend!

With so many cellar doors to experience in the Granite Belt I cannot encourage people enough to try Golden Grove sit outside overlook the vineyards & enjoy the beautiful wines & environment that a local family has created. Absolutely marvellous! Netsy, our wine tasting host was exceptional. Her passion for the wines was excellent and her warm and friendly hospitality made us feel like we were VIP customers. A definite must to visit.

Myself and four friends visited Golden Grove today. Our hostess Tracey shared her great knowledge of their wonderful wines and made us feel very welcome to the cellar door. Our favourites were the Shiraz and Tempranillo. Excellent wine. Thank you 😊

We stopped at Golden Grove Estate for a wine tasting on a Sunday afternoon. We thoroughly enjoyed the visit here. The tasting was well paced and we loved the delivery of information about the wine, grapes and the processing techniques. All our questions about the wines were well received and responded to. We loved all the wines we tasted here, particularly the muscat. All of them were well balanced and refined. We'll definitely stop by here again on our next visit to Stanthorpe.

Beautiful family run business. If you can grab Ray for your tasting, he's passionate, friendly and hugely knowledgeable. After our tasting we also stopped at the family pop-up restaurant for lunch. The food was amazing - homemade gnocchi and cannelloni were huge highlights and everything paired beautifully with the wine.

One of my favourite wineries in the region. Always extremely welcoming and friendly with exceptional wines to boot. The cellar door was exceptionally busy when we visited this time yet Ray still gave us a thorough tasting and even dropped our large order to our accomodation in town. Will be back for sure.

I had the pleasure of working here picking grapes for a few days, and it was amazing. A family run operation and they were all willing to have a chat. Great location and of course great wine. I highly recommend a tasting grace was a great host and knowledgeable about the wine. Must see destination

Golden Grove Estate was an exceptional experience. We loved the warm, friendly staff who made us feel most welcome the minute we walked through the door. The hamper was delicious and the wine tasting was a delight. Delicious wines explained in detail by Netsy who definitely knew her wines.

There are many excellent tasting opportunities on the Granite Belt, but Tobins still rates as one of the best. Let's start with the cellar door - rustic but classy. Quality glassware where every new tasting is served in a clean glass. No one does it this way in the GB because it is the Tobin way. Ian was the perfect host giving you time with the wine, time to discuss with a friend and then opened with a discussion about the wine, it's journey and future. We were also given the opportunity to a tour of the barrel room. A Tobin's tasting is never a quick experience, but always a rewarding one.

Amazing experience on a quiet Sunday. Oliver was a fantastic host, very knowledgeable and passionate. He showed us the fermentation room, the grounds and the old wine crush. The wines are great, we took the Reserve Merlot and will be back for the whites.

Sarah was knowledgeable on the wines and took us through the process they follow of wine making and what makes Tobin Wines unique. We don’t normally love Chardonnay but found it hard to not walk away with it and the entire wine collection. It was incredible to see the process of wine making and the barrel room. Highly recommend stopping at Tobin Wines it was a highlight of our trip

What a superb experience being served by (I hope we remember correctly) Sarah this Saturday. So knowledgeable and welcoming. We really didn't need or expect to spend more money after our shopping extravaganza but learning about the wines and history of the winery , we were won over. It's just a shame her male colleague kept interrupting and bullying her in front of customers. Such bad form. We will be back and looking to be served by her, a credit to Tobin Winery.

Got to go to Tobin winery again after a 12 year interval between visits. The wine is spectacular, amongst the best in the Granite Belt. We actually got to have Mr Tobin himself do our tasting. He's a wealth of knowledge of all things wine and it was an absolute pleasure to have him share his enthusiasm for wine with us. Tobin Winery is definitely one if the wineries in the area that is on our must visit list. Cannot recommend it enough

Love this place. Sarah and Ian were wonderful hosts for both wine tasting and tour. Very educational and the wines are of a very high standard. Excited to try all the different wines we purchased, and moreso for our next visit.

Loved the wines. Loved them. We bought some lovely bottles. The place was nice and the atmosphere was good. The owners were detailed in their explanations and clearly knew their stuff. Now. We were sharing our tasting with our wives. When the men were there, we got wines quickly and with great explanations. When the wives sat down, they waited twenty+ minutes to get a single taste. At one point we told them to leave and the men sat down. Seconds later we had glasses of wine. They had waited 15 minutes with nothing. Really disappointing. I loved everything else. Why not treat all people equally? What happened here?? Edit 18 October 2022 - I had a forthright, candid and honest conversation with th owner, Ian, concerning the situation. I would like to commend him and the staff for taking my concern seriously, and am willing to give the benefit of the doubt. To summarise - lovely wines, wonderful location, room for improvement. Could say that about most of us.

Great intimate wine tasting experience with Sarah. Sarah took the time to walk us through each wine and it's process along with some history of the vineyard and its owner. Couldn't recommend Tobin Wines enough for their outstanding service and in depth knowledge. They were also extremely understanding of a booking mix up. Thanks again to Sarah and Tobin Wines.

From the moment we were greeted by Sarah at the door, to the wine tasting and tour by Ian, we felt very welcomed and relaxed all throughout. The space is comfortable and the wines are beautiful - would recommend the Luella Plum Cabernet. Thank you Ian and Sarah for making this experience one of the highlights of our trip ⭐️

I searched for the wine tasting and decided to pick Tobin Wine as people all commented his high quality wine. Adrian Tobin was not at the cellar door and we were served by his friendly staff. She’s also professional and she explained to us their high standard of production process that’s why their wine is the best. We tasted 3 red and 3 white and we particularly liked a white wine so we bought one. His wines are among the best in this country. We saw some return customers who just walked in and bought the wine. Definitely worth visiting if you are interested in wine tasting.

Beautiful location with a great host. The staff were very friendly and welcoming. Definitely worth stopping by and restocking for your wine collection with some local wines. We end up walking away with a few (sagrantino) :-)

A nice place to visit! Lots of parking (across the road in the field when busy) and pretty good wines to be tasted. If you want to eat though, make sure you come early - the kitchen had run out of food on our visit, so the kids were left hungry until the next stop.

Situated in the heart of Queensland's picturesque Granite Belt, just 20 kms from Stanthorpe, is beautiful Ballandean Estate. Bookings are preferred for lunch and kids are catered for. Try the Confid Duck Maryland with Baked Kipfler Potatoes, Sweet Pumpkin Puree and lovely Rocket Salad. If you like hot chips they make Queensland's best. The wine tasting bar is always a good way to start or finish your visit. Well worth a stop on your journey.

This is a winery you MUST have on your to visit list. The atmosphere is fantastic. The staff very friendly and knowledgeable but not pushy. And the wines and muscats are to die for. Especially love Angela's Reserve Muscat so smooth. Pricing not bad. But you get what you pay for.

Absolutely wonderful experience. Robyn was amazing, took the time to tell us about each wine we were tasting. Oh my goodness the grazing platters..... so well thought out oh and the Tim Tam Slam was next level and a great we to end out visit. Thank you, we will return for sure!

The wine tasting was wonderful and delicious! The wines are top notch. It was $10 per person for 6 wines and If you purchase a half dozen they wave the fee. The scenery is stunningly gorgeous. It is worth a visit if you can make it.

Totally awesome. Really nice hosts. Very friendly service. Great share platter ($45) with four wines to taste. Platter was really awesome and was the right amount after our push bike ride out there. The tiny hill up to the winery might not be that steep but at midday it was a hot killer.

Perfect choice of winery to enjoy a shared grazing platter with paired wines. The platter was extremely generous, beautifully presented & tasty. An extra bonus being pet friendly, service was excellent & Lizzie our waitress was friendly & fun! Highly recommended! A must do!

Had lunch here yesterday. Party of 6. We shared two grazing platters in the barrel room. Lovely atmosphere and great variety of condiments, cheeses, Salamis etc.

Glad we tried the food from here today. We had the hamper for 2 and it was awesome! Great flavours everything was delicious. The pork belly had a beautiful crisp top. The pasta was excellent. The salad was nice with an addictive dressing. The arancini were well done. Servings sizes were spot on. The staff were polite and friendly. Definitely worth a try if you're in the market for takeout and a good opportunity to support locals.

Enjoyed a wonderful afternoon at Ballandean. Fantastic wines with the Saperavi and GFM being particular standouts that I'd highly recommend. The food was also spectacular. If you’re in the area, Bent Road Winery should be at the top of your places to visit. We visited Bent Road Winery in their new location and booked in for the ‘Wine Masterclass’. We had the very knowledgeable and awesome Andrew host us through the Masterclass! He was awesome and such a great story teller. We also met some lovely locals who were also booked in at the same time. Truly a wonderful experience and we loved that it wasn’t just another wine tasting... We started with a glass of wine and a walk through their new vineyards that they’ve taken over, then a tour inside before sitting down for the tastings. We took home a few bottles of both wine labels, La Petite Mort and Wilhelm Scream and we can’t wait to order more!

The winery tour and tasting is absolutely fantastic. The winery is very interesting and Glenn is a very knowledgeable host. He gave a great tour and then polished it off a wonderful tasting that explored the nuances of his wines as well as an astounding depth of general wine knowledge. Words can't describe how incredible Brent Road Winery and Distillery is. My wife and I had the pleasure of chatting to Andrew during a wine tasting and it was the highlight of our trip. The vineyard is incredibly beautiful and the wine is beyond amazing. I couldn't recommend it any higher.

The best reception and guide to the front door from Angus. The gentleman filling in for the owners is great. The wine is fantastic and worth the money. Would definitely return.

We had a great wine tasting here. The owner was nice. Ended up buying their Sauvignon Blanc. Our dog was so relaxed in this place.

We were happy to pay for a $5 tasting. Got the tasting, tour, demonstration, explanation and ol' mate was super generous with our group (which included 4 kids). Bought a few bottles of amazing wine and never paid for the tasting. 💯🤍

Sue and Warren have nurtured their vineyard lovingly for 20+ years and it shows in the quality of wine and the passion that oozes from them both when you visit for a tasting. A very worthwhile visit when in the granite belt.

Our first time here, tasting wines with some friends. Warren.... what can I say, you've completely changed my mind about Chardonnay..... and now that I've had the best I won't stoop to anything less!! It was so lovely meeting you and Sue, and we really enjoyed your hospitality and every wine you had on offer. It was clear to us all that you both really do put your heart and soul into your wines. Warren was very generous with his time and took us through a very informative wine tasting. The wines were exceptional, we particularly enjoyed the barrel aged chardonnay. We couldn’t leave without patting Angus the gorgeous dog too! We’ll definitely be back and highly recommend this place!

A vineyard planted in 1999 by a old lovely couple. Everything is done by themselves. Two ex school teachers who made a tree change to the Granite Belt to grow grapes, make wine and open a cellar door. It’s a hands-on operation as all processes are completed by the two of them on site. Regional wines exhibit strong varietal fruit characters. You can find a lazy dog at the door... don’t be scared, it just is having a beautiful nap.
