Petronas Twin Towers

Mentioned on
Historical landmark
Sights & Landmarks
The Petronas Twin Towers in Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia, were once the tallest buildings in the world and remain an iconic symbol of the city. These modern Islamic-designed towers stand at 88 stories high and offer a visitor skybridge for breathtaking views. Guided tours are available for visitors to explore the towers, including the Observation Deck on the 86th floor with stunning panoramic views.
We purchased the tour tickets in advance as it can get sold out quickly especially during the weekend and school holiday. The ticket can be purchased at their website. We gathered at the front of check in counter before the tour started. Security check was done and small backpack or food and drinks must be left at the lockers as it were not allowed. Then the officer in charge brought us to the Level 41, where the lower deck of suspension bridge connected with the twin towers. After spending around 10 minutes on the bridge, we were then moved to the Observation Deck which is located at Level 86. Here we can see the whole Kuala Lumpur with 360 degree view.

One of the most beautiful modern buildings that I have seen so far. The hype is worth it and it looks beautiful as during the day as it does in the evening. We marvelled at the structure from the outside and then we also took one of the tours inside, where we were taken to 2 different levels and we viewed the city from the top. It was one of the best experiences and the ticket fee was worth it.

A must to do!!! Iconic PETRONAS Twin Towers are the tallest twin towers in the world, and its status has remained unchallenged since 1996. Offering outstanding views over the KL. Purchase tickets in advance to secure your visit and escape the line. Evening is the best time to visit. Guided tour is around 45 min. Highly recommended!!!
Mohammad Kalantari — Google review
I bought the tickets for the experience in advance and they cost around 20 dollars per person. The tour is guided and lasts around 45 mins, I would loved to be able to stay more in the observation deck, but I understand why it's that way to give everyone the chance to experience it as well There is two main stops in the tour, the first one is the suspending bridge between the two towers, it is fascinating. If the weather is too sunny, the reflections of the sun rays could be a little annoying. The second stop is the observation deck which is located on the 86th floor at a whopping 370m above the ground, the views of the city were magnificent

The highlight of KL at night, which is why KL is also affectionately called the City of Lights. A wonder in its own right, one can only admire the sheer beauty and elegance of these twin towers as they light up from top to bottom. You cannot simply miss a photo opportunity be it under the towers or in the observation deck right at the pinnacle.

The Petronas Towers in Kuala Lumpur are an absolute marvel. Standing tall and proud, they represent a symbolic and architectural wonder. The sheer grandeur and beauty of these towers make them a must-visit for anyone traveling to Malaysia. The view from the top is simply breathtaking, offering a captivating panoramic view of the bustling city below. Whether appreciating them from the ground or from their dizzying heights, the Petronas Towers are an unforgettable and iconic experience.

It was the roof of the world for many years. Of course, although Dubai has taken this attribute from these towers, it is still a very valuable place here. Two high quality skyscrapers with all facilities in one of the best cities in the world. The Petronas Twin Towers can be seen from almost anywhere in the city. Existence of different shops with different global brands has increased the quality of this place more than before. Here we can mention the Malaysian signature. Even small sculptures of these two skyscrapers are sold in different parts of the city. The materials used in these skyscrapers are also very special and different. The interesting thing is that although the skyscrapers are made of metal and glass, they are always clean. It seems that the workers of these skyscrapers is routinely cleaned 24 hours a day. During the twelve years of continuous travel to this city and visiting this great city, whenever I came to these two skyscrapers, I always admired them for these huge structures. amazing.

One of the most iconic places I have ever seen so far. You can see this place from all corners of Malaysia. One thing for sure, you won't keep your camera or phone inside the pocket until you move out of the place. That means to say, every corner of the building is mesmerizing. This place looks amazing in the morning and magically damn beautiful at time. On special occasions they change the color of the lights. Best time to visit??? Whenever you visit that's the best time. But I suggest visiting during night time

Standing at a staggering height of 452 meters, they exude elegance and sophistication. The famous twin towers of KL. Definitely exciting to see from down below. Absolutely amazing views of the city from above in the sky deck and bridge sections. Apart from that though, there isn’t a heap to talk about with the towers, other than the fact that they illuminate very well at night!
Matthew Whitehead — Google review
I had the chance to visit the Petronas Twin Towers in KL, and while the tickets were a bit pricey and required advance purchase, the experience was quite enjoyable. We timed it for sunset, which added to the beauty of the view. The cityscape from the bridge was stunning and offered a unique perspective. However, a small downside was the staff's persistence in pushing us to buy a family picture they had taken. While it dampened the experience a bit, it didn't overshadow the overall positive impression. In summary, the Petronas Twin Towers are definitely worth a visit, despite the ticket cost and the occasional push for purchasing extras. The view is incredible, especially during sunset, and it's an iconic landmark that provides a glimpse of Kuala Lumpur's charm.
Sasan P — Google review
It looks good at night. Ambience in front of the tower is good. If you have been to the top of any tall tower in the world, you can safely skip going to the observation deck or the bridge connecting the two towers. There is nothing extraordinary even at night; you can save the hefty RM99 per person ticket charges.
Rajasekaran Subbiah — Google review
Definitely worth visiting although if you want to visit the observation deck for views I think KL tower is better especially from the skydeck. The main entrance provides great spot for photos.
Tristram Lucas — Google review
A great place to visit and take in the views. The landscape is good to take in, especially from the 2 levels you get to explore. You are not overly crowded during the visit, with groups being made of about 20 people at a time. You get a good amount of time to explore the levels and take photos. A few facts given when you come off the elevator, but not a lot - would be nice to learn more whilst being shown around. Highly recommended!
Nayan Patel — Google review
The night view at the Petronas Twin Towers was absolutely stunning! It’s hard to put into words how amazing it was. The towers lit up against the night sky created a magical and mesmerizing sight. I highly recommend visiting the Petronas Twin Towers at night to witness the breathtaking beauty for yourself. It’s a must see attraction in Kuala Lumpur!
Badrul Amin — Google review
We booked the tickets online and choose the best time. Sunset. The weather was cloudy that day but still manage to get a glimpse of the sunset. You cannot bring any water bottle or small bags up. You need to store it in their facility. You get 10 minutes at each section, so take many photos and use your time wisely . The glass can be dirty at some spots, and it is very bright with the spotlight, so it will be hard to take photos at night . We saw a family that was turned away as they came at the wrong time slot, so choose your timeslot and buy your tickets .
illion — Google review
Outstanding structure. Still the most beautiful skyscraper amonst all top of the world. The best part of it is .. that a natural space is reserved at front of it. That has a lake, plants and trees. At night dancing fountain show is also must watch thing. While the mall inside isn't that interesting, honestly 😋
kashif saleem — Google review
This place is crazy nice. Next time I will visit inside. But also outside it was amazing! Attention! It's very hard to get a taxi away from it. We walked to the next big crossing road to finally get one.
Luka Bartling — Google review
It's much better and b'ful to see from outside than to go inside to get the view around from the top. To get the best views of the city, go to KL tower(Menara KL) instead. In the daytime, the twin towers look just like usual buildings, but the real beauty is at night when it glows. It gets too crowded at night.

After 6 years, I came back to this place by a positive surprise. The city and the area looks clean, modern, and overall they renovated the area in a nice way, with gardens, and fountains. I loved the hall with the piano to enjoy and play for the people around.
Marian Gómez — Google review
Petronas twin towers are iconic KL tourist place to visit. Plan in advance and book tickets and get the timing to see the towers. They arrange the visit in groups so please plan accordingly to that when you get there as they will group you only once you get there. The place has instructions how to get to the visitor centre. There is huge mall below so you might get lost in that. If you want to enjoy the place plan to visit the tower the later half of the day so that you can see the illuminated tower at night and the fountain show planned. There could be showers and that can delay the fountain show. The tower it self is good place to see the wonders of KL cityscapes. They stop at the 42 floor to view the connecting bridge between the towers. They give 10-15 mins for pictures here. They then take the group to 83 floor and change lift to 86 floor. This is the observation deck and has a lot of details and good place to take pics. They then get back to 83 floor which has a small cafe and gift shop. It also has a small video show on the tower history. The total cost for the tower tour is about 100-130 Malaysia ringgit.
Nagarajan T V — Google review
The tour is nice. They divide visitors into smaller groups based on time of arrival on the same slot. You are given enough time to have lovely pictures of KL. They take pictures for you at the entrance which you can buy for 150 RM. There is also storage for backpacks.

Very nice park, love the way they design and manage space there. Good for taking kids there to have fun. Adult can enjoy walking around or donsome exercises. Lots of trees on top with very nice contrast view of surrounding sky scrapers.

Beautiful place and never fails to fascinate me since past many decades. Some shops are new and spotted more new brands coming up too. The atmosphere is good and worth taking a walk around the place. Evening water fountains with colourful lights is spectacular. Best place to take the pictures of the one of the tallest buildings in the world and it held that record for many years. KL is known for this place more than any others. Plenty of food options and staff is friendly.

The view is delightful, serene, and excellent. Numerous playgrounds are available for recreation, and the outdoor pool, particularly enjoyed by children, adds to the overall pleasant experience. Additionally, the jogging track is well-maintained and contributes to the broad appeal.

This is a very family friendly park with a lot of green trees and a little water fountain. There is a kids playground as well. This park is alongside the twin towers that is very charming to take family and friends photographs. It is a great place to hang out with family and friends for hours and even can arrange picnic. The park is completely free for the visitors.

With beautiful landscape and surrounded by greenery. Small recreation park for those wanted to do short and quick exercise after work. Another nice place to hang out and meeting friends too.

Small but lovely park on one side of the KLCC. There's a fountain, a wading pool (a favourite with kids), another pool with sculptures, a children's playground, all linked by a wide footpath. You can have a great view of the twin towers and the connecting bridge, and an interesting view of the skyscrapers around. There were a lot of people in KLCC when I was there on New Year's Eve, so it was really nice to step out into the sun and get some fresh air away from the crowd. It's a wonderful haven from the hustle and bustle, and I recommend it.

They do have a big playground area for kids. Water park water consider quite clean as for a public splash area. Good place to take nice photo. Lots of people come for jogging. The down side is the toilet nearby the splash area do not provide proper bath area…

Nice. Many variant and type of slides, hanging, and others for the kids to play with. Even got free pool for kids, not more than 1 meter deep. Lot of parking option to reach here. Only thing to consider is the area is out of wind as many trees, building blocking so its bit warm, no wind. The rest, nice. No food and drinks stall around so prepare your drinks.

Beautiful and huge Park just next to Suria KLCC. Good place to take a walk if you happen to come here. Have water fountain and water features for kid to play. May be quite hot during day time, but evening time will be great.

Lovely spot to chill and enjoy the dancing fountains beside the iconic petronas. Visitors can sit beside the late and watch the show or have a walk around. Best part that the place is having a lot of trees although it's a major part of a modern city. Place is free to enter and open to all people.

Open space for seat and relax. The good thing is that you can seat near water and as space is so bigger so not seems crowded anytime. You can walk very easily yo whole places. Areas are very clean also.

Must visit park when you're in Kuala Lumpur. If you are foreigners, shouldn't miss this park at all cost. Definitely worth your time for a visit. You'll be stunned by the magnificent Twin Towers view. Recommended visit time: Spare a two hours from 6pm to 8pm. 6pm - 7pm > Get yourself familiar with the surrounding while it is still bright (day time). So you have enough time to find your favourite spot for photography or enjoy the sunset. 7pm - 745pm > This will be the time the sky slowly turn dark. Enjoy the Sunset + Twin Towers lighting up. (Can consider capture time lapse 😉 ) 745pm - 8pm > Enjoy the magnificent night view and the Symphony Lake Water Show. Then you're good to go for dinner.

There are plenty of activities to keep you entertained at KLCC Park, such as jogging, picnicking, or simply strolling along the various paths and walkways. Beautiful park right in the middle of downtown. It's surprising peaceful once you are in it. Nice little lake with dancing fountains, a splash pad, playground and other activities available for kids. Lush green trees make it an unlikely respite from the concrete all around.

One of the best public parks to visit if you want a morning/evening walk, or just want to breathe fresh air. Make sure it's not a weekend or public holiday, it's very crowded these days. The park is super clean and maintained. There's a pond with fountains too. I did not stay for long but I heard there's a light show every night. Just like a dancing fountain at Dubai Mall (but I am not sure). What I am sure is that usually those fountains are synced with music and it's lovely. Make sure you are always walking on tracks and not on grass, it's not allowed. Overall, a good picturesque spot with all public amenities.

The park is a must visit day & especially at night! There are plenty of nice walks, with seating under cover, just in case it rains which it will do! At night the fountains are light up & dance to music. The trees around the fountain are also light up & also produce a displace. You will enjoy your visit. If you are visiting with children there is also a large play area:

A must visit place if you're in kuala lumpur. The park is very neat and clean, This place is having one of the best view of Petronas twin tower. We have visited the place in the evening a bit crowded but it's not spoiling the view. A water fountain show with the music and light is also there in evening time. KLCC Park is an adequate space with greenery to spend your evening.

Words cannot express the feelings when you visit this magnificent place and a landmark of Kuala Lumpur. It's huge and equally beautiful. The building itself is alive and becomes charismatic by evening with brilliant lighting and is topped up by a fountain show. It's a hypnotising place and you want to be here again and again.

Nestled beneath the renowned Petronas Towers in Kuala Lumpur, KLCC Park offers a serene sanctuary within the bustling city. There are exquisitely constructed gardens and a symphonic lake in the park.People can unwind and read books on the benches around Fountain Lake. Kids will love this park because it has lots of open room for them to play in, including a tiny water park at one end. KLCC Park is a great area for gatherings with family and friends, as well as for joggers and photographers to find some peace and quiet in this urban haven. It was Christmastime, and the mall's entryway had a massive, exquisitely decorated tree.

Was great experienced. The staffs were so friendly and guide us on how to take good pictures with the right angles. We were the 1st customers so got to try every single things there. It is located at the Ansa Hotel 1st floor. Easy to access as it is located in the middle of KL. Can come by own transport and park at Lot 10 parking space.

The museum entrance is near to Starbucks Bukit Bintang at the right side of Lot 10 (outside side walk) and next to it is the entrance at hotel Ansa at 1st floor. If you like taking photo and play puzzle. I recommend it. You're can explore around with some illusion exhibit. Good to spend time with family, friends etc. Not so big place yet it's fun to enjoy the activities inside with educational and taking pictures. Ticket's can be purchased online either can walk in to purchased it.

Unplanned visit to Museum of Illusions. Our attendant, Jennifer, was very attentive and escorted us throughout the ticketing process. We had a blast w the puzzle games! The other staff were also very helpful & gave further elaborations about the illustrative pieces. We really enjoyed the puzzle games, Mirror Maze Room & Vortex! Highly recommended; especially for the curious minds!

A very small museum; 2-storeys high. Those on the 2nd level aren't as fun & interactive as those in the first level. You can take lots of photos at first level, and you can ask the staff for help. They are all very friendly and helpful!

I went during promo so got cheap price of RM20, also i went during weekday + pkpp so other than us there is no one. I enjoy a lot because the staff is really friendly, give demo and explanation of the exhibition. Other than some illusion picture, they also have game you can participate! Also got some good picture worth it room. The staff also help to guide to get the perfect picture. Its quite small (2 level) so i think you can enjoy most if its not many people. So choose a good date. Overall, I'm very satisfied 👍👍

RM81 for four persons. We enjoyed almost all the illusions in there. Small and compact. Not advisable to come during peak time. For us, it was convenient enough. The assistants were really helpful in getting our pictures right. They are really patient. I enjoy doing the 3D drawing. It was mesmerising. Although we enjoyed it but not many may repeat the trip.

We loved the positive energy of the staff and some of the exhibits were quite fun. However, the place is TINY! We spend about half an hour in there and even tried to take it slow. We won't return because the entrance fee doesn't match the duration of the experience, especially not if you're a foreigner.

The Museum is good for kids. But I don't recommend it for adults. There were a few illusions and some IQ games. The staff is very friendly. They explained about all the items.
Christkiran Sathiyanandadevan — Google review
Kids will enjoy it a lot & adults a bit. The roller tunnel should be brighter. It is very dark inside, I couldn't feel the effect much. The infinity room also should have brighter lights, so people can feel it without turning on the flash in mobile phones, which is killing the infinity feeling.
Sheshidher Reddy — Google review
Love this place! 👏 It felt more like a family joint, rather than a museum ❤ The staff is so friendly and welcoming to the visitors! Yes the place is not big, but the amount of time you want to spend at 1 illusion spot, will be long, trust me 😂 Unless you're not into getting perfect photos! 😝 The staff here? Omg, they're top class! They will offer to take photos for you, and even showed you the perfect angle. They are friendly, jovial, informative and willing to answer any question you have about the illusions. For such a small place, my 5y and I, spent more than 1hr there 🤗 Oh, there was an art & craft section as well that day (with additional fee for the artwork of course). All in all, it was a superb day for my daughter and I. We'll come back next time, for sure! 😘 Well done to all the staff there 👏 Keep up the friendliness 😘 This attitude is rare to find in most places nowadays. Sad but true. U guys are amazing! 💪

I was not expecting much, but I enjoyed my visit. A helpful and friendly girl showed me around the first floor and took some photos showing the effects. The second floor was a bit boring except for the tunnel. As I was the only person I went through the tunnel several times. It was impossible to walk through without hanging on to the rails. Then I spent an hour or so solving puzzles. That was enjoyable until a member of staff, clearly itching to show me how to solve the table puzzle basically took over and moved me off. He was struggling to solve it, so I left. Getting shown what to do doesn't help cognitive development.

Islamic Arts Museum Malaysia

Mentioned on

Museums
The Islamic Arts Museum Malaysia, located in Kuala Lumpur, is a contemporary museum that celebrates the official religion of Malaysia. It is the largest museum of its kind in Southeast Asia and offers spacious galleries showcasing artifacts and examples of Muslim patterns in various forms such as print, jewelry, armor, coins, ceramics, and architecture.
If you have an appreciation for the Middle East, Islamic culture, arts in general, architecture, history, anything, then you should visit this museum. There is something in it for everyone, and then some. Islamic art has its own beauty, it is often simple, geometric and yet rich. But if you look into the details then there is a wealth of complexity that often leave you astounded. The Islamic Arts Museum showcases that really well while taking the visitors through a logical sequence of the art forms and of the different eras. This really is a great place to visit in the weekend if you're short of things to do. It doesn't need to break your wallet, as the entry is only RM14 for some of the amazing artefacts that's on offer here. The building itself is to behold. Don't forget to look up.
Kit Teguh — Google review
This is a must visit in KL. The galleries are full of beautiful Islamic art in a very nice display. There's English text for foreigners in every description. Not only the objects displayed here are beautiful and well maintained, but also the gallery has a gorgeous architecture. This museum actually is what you will expect of a national museum. It's a great way to get to learn more about Islamic religion and history. Totally recommended

Incredible museum. If you have to pick one to visit in KL, this is probably it. There's an Orientalist exhibit now. The paintings are great, looks great even when photographed. Lighting is good and it's the kind of place you can stare at paintings for hours and be immersed in them. If you like art, I highly recommend visiting the store. They have replicas sold. Quite pricey, but many are worth it. Even the fridge magnets and coasters are well done. The children's library is also a nice place to bring your kids while your spouse explores the museum. It's about RM20 per person now but well worth it.

It's the most amazing Islam ☪️ Art Museum in KL. It exhibits paintings in real details to tell you about history of Islam. Moreover, it shows history about Koran (Qur'an) and more... highly recommend visiting this place. All my family love it and spend 6 hours for this.

Beautiful building and interesting museum about Islamic arts. A lot of history about to learn, see and understand. The entrance fees are 20 RM and can be pay by credit card. During my visit, October 2023, two special galleries full of paintings, amazing! Definitely recommend visit You will need 45min of you rush, but I really recommend to take 1h30 to 2 hours to really enjoy it I went on a Sunday afternoon and it was very quiet and empty.

Nice collection of Islamic art & architecture including items specific to Malay, Indian, and Chinese culture. Each item had English description which was nice but I wished that the museum made use of multimedia for a more engaging experience. A guided tour was only available for a group of 10. The top floor has an outdoor space with a beautiful dome. It would have been nice to access the outdoor space. Finally, if the museum brochure highlighted the must see items that would have been good as well.

It is a typical museum vibe. All galleries are nice. Arrange beautifully. Staff are helpful and respectful. It is sad that nowadays people don't really choose museum as a place to hang out or we can say to have a peace of mind. It is quite peaceful in here, at the same time adding up our general knowledge. So it is totally 5 stars for me. Of course, it is not a place where many people choose to have fun but try it once, who knows you'll get the same feeling as I am.

Such a lovely place! Some truly amazing artifacts and works of art. You can learn so much about Islamic history throughout Asia and see such cool stuff. I’d highly recommend checking it out! There were only about three other people when I went, but it was a weekday. It’s very close to the national mosque, like a 5 minute walk if even. If you ask me it’s much more beautiful and interesting than the mosque which gets a lot more visitors. You should check out both for sure.

Must go if you like art. They have plenty to offer from paintings to jewels. Not many visitors so it was comfortable to walk around. National museum of Malaysia is nearby but trust me, the Islamic arts museum is where you want to go, skip the nation museum lol.

Amazing museum showcasing different aspects of the Islamic religion and culture throughout history. The exhibits were very well maintained and their descriptions very comprehensive. Unfortunately, I was so captivated that I spent about 2 hours in one flour and were not able to complete the other 2 flours as the museum closes at 18:00. I highly recommend allocating at least 3hours if you are as fond of history as I am. The entrance costs 20MYR.

Beautiful museum with a great exhibition on several floors and an extensive collection. Very well presented with English explanations and covering many topics and geographic areas, not only Malaysia. It's very cold though, I thought I was prepared based on the comments here but had to leave much sooner than I wanted because it was just freezing. Unfortunately all the places where you could sit outside for a bit to warm up are closed.

The Islamic Art Museum is a treasure trove of beauty and knowledge. From China to Malaysia, it showcases the diverse world of Islamic art and culture. With stunning exhibits and insightful history, it’s a must-visit for anyone interested in the rich tapestry of the Islamic heritage.

What a mesmerizing museum. With its incorporation of precise and repeating Islamic geometry, there's always something to make you stare in wonder. The whole museum is spotless, quiet and beautiful. You must visit here if you come to KL.

I had a wonderful learning experience exploring the many levels and exhibits. I spent the early morning at the Botanical Gardens and was allowed entry 30 minutes early into the museum, which was amazing as I had each exhibit to myself for the first hour or so. Shoutout to the super nice staff for letting me in early as I was completely oblivious to the opening time. There's around 12 total exhibits, ranging from Textiles, Ceramics, Armour and Weaponry, Woodwork, etc. Each is chock full of amazing artifacts that are clearly well maintained. There's plenty of signage to contextualize these pieces which is much appreciated as some other museums I've been to in the region don't bother to fully build out their exhibits. If you're by the Botanical Gardens or are looking for a rainy day escape, you can easily spend a couple hours here admiring all the art. Pricing is reasonable at 14 rm for adults and 7 rm for students. Highly recommend.

The art was exquisite! A lot of representation of the Arab world painted by travellers from the west who went to visit North Africa and the gulf for artistic inspiration. It was also beautiful to see ancient Malay embroidery and an art piece where the entire Quran was written onto a fabric. Some parts of the museum were still under development such as the outdoor dome area as well as the courtyard garden which was unfortunate because it looked really pretty from outside. I also recommend getting some souvenirs from the gift shop because surprisingly they were quite cheap, cheaper than some stalls at petaling street!

Well worth the 20 MYR cost. The museum is well curated with detailed and interesting information. It’s quite big and covers the influence of Islam and Islamic art. I recommend taking at least 3-4 hours to read and process everything. It’s right next to the National mosque so you can combine the visits together.

Eye opening trip. There’s a orientalist painting exhibit right now to show the development of Muslim from west to east. Highly maintained and recommended to those who like to explore and know deeper about Muslim culture

The museum is an unique example of high level of elegance and of serenity: The whole building is beautiful. All their ceiling domes are sublime. The paintings of special exposition « Mirror or Mirage? » are stunning. This museum applies the same entrance fees to local and foreigners, and open every day, except during Islamic main celebration days.

This is a very high-quality museum. The exhibits inside are stunning and have deepened my appreciation for Islamic culture. However, it might be the weekend, and there are too many children. Some of them are noisy, and some children are touching artworks with their hands. I hope the staff can increase supervision of the visitors to protect these exquisite cultural heritage pieces.

You'll need the whole day and still you won't be able to complete this museum of you start reading and looking into each item. It's really huge and the collection is enormous. We had lot of reading and looking into items here for hours and hours and we loved it. It was a great place to spend the 12th day of our visit to Malaysia.

Learn about Islamic history, culture, clothings, trade, and other ways of life and traditions over several centuries. There evidences of pure Islamic culture, Arabian culture, and their interactions with the Romans, Persians, Northern Africans, Chinese, Indians, and Europeans. A lot about Islamic and Persian calligraphy are captured, which are intertwined. Records of astrology and human biology are kept in the museum. Malay traditional medicine has some text in one of the areas. Architecture of various regions and periods of more than 20 mosque compounds / study centres are kept in the museum. They’re amazing. The museum has a very serene environment, a bookshop with good stationary, designs, study materials, etc. There is also a restaurant for individual and family dining. It is a great place for history and calligraphy students, opened to all people irrespective of their religion. It cost MYR 20 for an adult entry and MYR 10 for a student. Students must show their student ID cards or at least its electronic version.
Abdul Mugis — Google review
The museum is very big, I would say you need at least 2 hours to check out everything. If you want to visit a restaurant inside (which is not as expensive as you might expect) you should consider at least a 3 hour visit. It's better to visit in the morning or you might be forced to leave because of closing time.

I was very surprised and amazed at how excellent this place is. The parking is abundant, and the customer service is very good. The arts collection is astonishing and originated from various countries. The description / labelling of the arts is well designed for ease or reading. The best part is the ambient within the museum. The air conditioning, the lighting, the smell (god, it smells soo good). It's very soothing and makes you appreciate the arts further. I've spent around 4 hours in here but still couldn't manage to vet through all the arts. I strongly recommend you guys to visit this place.

Time well spent at this museum. They offer great range of exhibitions from art gallery to the history of bank system, bank notes and coins. Great space for not just adults but also for kids to get familiar with the financial stuff 😜 a good 2-3 hours of experience ❤️ Free entrance admission, just need to register at the counter once you’re there and be mindful of the opening hours. There’s a few sections that are under maintenance and upgrades so hopefully I could experience that on my next visit to KL

One of the best and well-maintained museums in KL. Admission is free, so no need to purchase tickets. Visitors are not allowed to bring bags (both large and small) inside. Near the reception area, there is a free wooden storage box for bags, but you can also use the available locker by paying a RM 10 deposit (which will be refunded when you're leaving). Lots of interactive activities inside, so it’s fun to bring your kids. Also, all the staff here are friendly and very informative!

There are only 3 areas available for visiting, and other areas are under maintenance. But overall, the exhibition is quite good. They tell much info on monetary history, finance and economy history, and knowledge. This place is free entry. Visitors are not allowed to bring in bags, food, and beverages. They will give you two options, either you put your stuff in a big box beside the reception counter (FOC) without any lock, and it will mix with others' stuff. Or you can choose to keep your stuff in a locker (need to pay a minimum of RM10 refundable deposit). The location is quite far from the lrt station, but it is still possible to walk there if the weather is good (about 20 minutes walk). The staff there are so nice.
Mandy Shoo — Google review
The exhibition was well worth it. During Covid, they only allowed 40 people to enter each day, even though the place is huge. I would have given 5 stars if they didn't make visitors wait outside until they reopen at 2pm after an hour break. I don't quite understand why can't visitors enter the premise and wait in the cafe until the booking slot.

One of the best museum and art spaces in Kuala Lumpur. The collection, which is split between Malaysian artwork and the history of the Malaysian banking system (which was far more interesting than it sounds!), is well preserved and presented. As an expat it was interesting to learn more about Malaysian culture and history. Don’t visit with the assumption that it will be a dull presentation about banking; it offers much about the country’s wider history and society. Staff are welcoming and enthusiastic about the collection. There is a special gallery for children on the ground floor (but just as much fun for adults) and gift shop. The only negative is that the opening hours are fairly restrictive. Entry is free for everyone; locals, expats and tourists.

I recently had the pleasure of visiting the Bank Negara Malaysia Museum and Art Gallery, and I must say, it exceeded my expectations. This unique museum offers a fascinating blend of history, art, and finance, providing visitors with an engaging and educational experience. The museum is conveniently located in the heart of Kuala Lumpur, easily accessible via public transportation. Upon entering, I was greeted by friendly and knowledgeable staff members who were more than happy to provide assistance and answer any questions. The admission is free, which is always a bonus! The exhibits are thoughtfully designed and well-presented, covering a wide range of topics related to Malaysia's economic history, financial systems, and the role of Bank Negara Malaysia. The interactive displays and multimedia presentations kept me engaged, and I especially enjoyed learning about the evolution of Malaysian currency, from the early days of barter trade to modern banknotes and coins. What truly sets this museum apart is the stunning art gallery, showcasing an impressive collection of Malaysian and Southeast Asian contemporary art. The artworks are not only visually captivating, but they also provide valuable insights into the region's rich cultural heritage and diversity. In addition, the Children's Gallery offers fun, interactive activities that cater to younger visitors, making it an excellent destination for families. There is also a well-stocked souvenir shop where you can find unique gifts and keepsakes to remember your visit. Overall, I highly recommend the Bank Negara Malaysia Museum and Art Gallery to locals and tourists alike. Whether you're an art enthusiast, history buff, or simply looking for an enjoyable way to spend an afternoon, this museum has something for everyone. Don't forget to check it out next time you're in Kuala Lumpur!

The staffs are all helpful and friendly. We had a blast there!! It's so quiet and peaceful. There were like five visitors including us the day we went. We got us some souvenirs as well. For me, the kids gallery is the best, they got this wall full of money which is insta-worthy haha and we can print out own money lol. Make sure to book your slot a week before visiting!

We visited this hidden gem in Kuala Lumpur on a weekday. We booked online for the morning slot that starts at 10 am. Entrance is free but no bags allowed. There are 4 floors of exhibits including a money tunnel made up of a million ringgit in notes. We enjoyed the numismatic gallery which had many old coins and notes. The art collection on the top floor was also very good. Staff were extremely helpful, courteous and welcoming. We spent an enjoyable two and a half hours here.

Free admission and free parking! The museum showcases the history of money, the type of coins & paper money from old days till the now. There is also some interactive way to learn about all these knowledge here. There is two schools trip visited this museum during my visit, it’s not very crowded as the museum is quite spacious. There is a cafe here but the price is quite expensive. There is also a souvenir store selling cute gifts. Toilet is available at each floor and they are all clean. You can’t bring bags to visit the museum. You can either drop your bag behind the service counter or rent a locker. No entrance ticket needed but you are required to fill in a google form.

I had quite an enjoyable afternoon here. Spent almost an hour to sweep through all four floors and then went again when the crowd died down. Personally I feel that the interactive exhibitions are more suited for children and not adults. But the place is packed with instagrammable spots and info to read so it was fairly enjoyable. Entrance is free, they just need you to register by scanning a QR code. Parking is also free and ample. I parked at LG5 and took the lift which lead me directly to the entrance of the museum. Only phones, camera and wallet allowed in so no tripods or small handbags. Would recommend to visit on weekdays to avoid the crowd. It's not very nice when you're trying to look at the exhibits while the kids are screaming and running around you.

A good place to know about money 💰 Before u enter u need to qc scan and filled the form and go to the administration, the lady will explain to u about the museum where we need to start, do and don't, and we need to put our bag in the storage that provided. You are only allowed to bring purchase and phone. Take pic is allowed but some of place no flash light. The place is very comfortable with Air-conditioning inside, It has 3 stairs which can go by lift or stairs. Every floor has a different showroom and toilets are clean. I spent 2-3 hours here and really enjoyed it.

Nice place to visit with family, it is considered new some of the sections are not ready to open to visitors. Free entrance for now, but you need to register before you enter. Leaving your bags and belongings in your car is recommended as bags are not allowed, only wallet and hp are allowed, and they only prepared two large crates for visitors to put whatever items that are not allowed to bring in, no personal locker available so everyone is sharing those two crates.

This museum is one of the most specialized art museums in Kuala Lumpur not only on the economic history of Malaysia but also the basic principles of monetary systems, trading and financial institutions for primary education. I think the galleries here are best curated and maintained compared to the other well-known public museums which in many cases were quite disappointing. And don’t forget to see the artworks in the special gallery on the 3rd floor- the exhibited pieces were absolutely mesmerizing, and it’s been a great joy for me to have a chance to know the traditional shadow peppetry ‘Wayang Kulit’ in the recent exhibition.

Good place but many sections were broken. Some of the facilities were outdated. Wanted to visit art gallery at the top floor, unfortunately it was closed. Hate the fact that parents let their children just play and push every buttons like they're at a theme park. Beautiful building.

Japanese restaurant
Iketeru is an upscale Japanese restaurant nestled within the Hilton Kuala Lumpur, offering a luxurious dining experience. The restaurant boasts a sophisticated ambiance, making it an ideal choice for intimate gatherings or special occasions. With its serene setting featuring warm lighting and a zen garden, patrons liken the atmosphere to that of a secluded Japanese village. The menu showcases a diverse selection of authentic Japanese dishes prepared with premium, fresh ingredients and expertly crafted to deliver bold flavors and simple yet imaginative presentations.
Iketeru far exceeds expectation of what is considered to be a ‘foreign Japanese restaurant’. The food is at native standard, and every dish seems well thought of and prepared. The teppanyaki grill was a surprise considering they didn’t really heavily advertise it. The seafood platter is juicy and aesthetically pleasing. I was served by Aisha and Chyler. They were very attentive and always concerned if we needed anything. It is one of the best service I had in KL.

Iketeru, located on the 8th Floor of the Hilton. Same floor as the pool area. The landscape towards the restaurant gives a very soothing feeling prior to entering into this fine Japanese dining experience. Heavy main door by the way. As expected, customer service is excellent and so is the commanding price. They have a wide range of fresh seafood for you to choose from. If you love sashimi and wagyu, u won't go wrong ordering and eating here. Loved the umi and salmon belly naturally salted. Definitely will recommend if you just want to eat really high quality Japanese food inside the hotel where you stay and complete with the Hilton experience. Even more so if you have Hilton Honours and utilising it's membership discount benefits. But if you have time to explore and travel around KL, you will be spoiled for choice

The food definitely meets my expectation of freshness and the delicate taste of the food combined with other ingredients. The sashimi is very fresh and good on its own without additional sauce needed. The other dishes are also impressive: the seared sea bream has fresh taste of ocean, the octopus is firm and not tough at all, the prawn with creamy sauce that goes with it. The one that particularly I loved most of all is dessert part (because I love sweets). The match green tea cake is moist and not overly sweet with the right amount of matcha-ness from green tea. The yuzu ice cream is refreshing with the citrus flavour shines through. The private room where we has dinner has nice ambience. With sliding door, tatami mat and take off shoes before entering. Many thanks especially to Ms.Azura for serving us for dinner and enjoyed her cheerful hospitality. It's wonderful to experience a nice wonderful Japanese course dinner.

I had an incredible dining experience at Iketeru. The food was fresh and authentic, and the service was top-notch. The Japanese chefs are incredibly talented and use only the highest quality ingredients to prepare their delicious dishes. I especially appreciated the seasonal menu, offering a variety of options that are always on par with the highest standards of Japanese cuisine. The ambiance was lovely, and the restaurant is wheelchair-accessible, which was a big plus. I highly recommend Iketeru to anyone who is searching for an authentic Japanese dining experience in Kuala Lumpur. Five stars!

Came here for a Valentine's and Anniversary celebration. First things first, the seating plan was awkward. Tables were pretty cramped together and neighbouring tables could definitely hear your conversations. It wasn't too comfortable especially during Covid season were we should be spaced out even more so with our masks off. We ordered the Wagyu Teppan Course. Wanted to try the Seafood Teppan Course but they said lobster was out of stock that night. The time taken for the food to be served course by course was satisfactory, not too fast and not too slow, just enough time to enjoy the food. The sashimi was fresh and my favourite was the Halibut & Hokkaido Scallop. The main course however, was a bit underwhelming as the beef was too fatty and way undercooked even though we were asked our preferred doneness. The dessert was also a bit underwhelming as it was just a scoop of ice cream with some fruits. With the price paid I would've expected more. The floor staff that night was very attentive and friendly. For the service I have no complaints, we were very well taken care of. Overall I would say Iketeru is a nice place. But if you want a very nice experience or a romantic dinner I would suggest looking elsewhere as the food experience and price paid doesn't match up in my opinion :)

The outside of the restaurant is beautifully landscaped with mini-waterfalls and gardens. The teppanyaki is excellent and value for money. Jenny, our host for dinner, was very friendly and came over many times despite the restaurant being extremely busy on a weekday night to make sure we were OK. Our Teppanyaki chef, Mr. Lim, was very skilful, and it was quite a show seeing him prepare our meal. The Hokkaido scallops, halibut, and Australian lobsters were very fresh and tasty. The appetiser, sashimi, salad, and dessert were all very good, too. The yuzu juice served before the lobster course was an excellent palate cleanser. Reservations are strongly recommended.

Date night at Iketeru When time permits, we would sometimes go for a date night. Knowing how much she loves Japanese food, I'd bring her to someplace fancy. Iketeru is located on the 8th floor of Hilton KL Hotel. Offering curated multi-course menus as well as a la carte to those who just want something casual, from air-flown sashimi to top-grade Wagyu.. the team in Iketeru made sure that we felt welcome from the moment we stepped in until we left the restaurant. ◾She opted for Oto (Sound), a seafood course priced at RM450 which came with an appetizer; sashimi; salad; halibut & Hokkaido scallop with yuzu sauce; Boston lobster; sauteed vegetables; garlic fried rice; miso soup; and dessert. Pretty good and quite filling honestly - luckily we only ordered one set instead of two. ◾Dobin Mushi (RM48) - steamed clear seafood soup served in earthen pot. Just because she could not resist something hot & soupy. Love it when the soup base was brimming with sweetness of various seafood such as prawns, squid, fish, scallop and clams. All were fresh! I drank until the very last drop, Chinese style. Back when the hotel was still offering annual membership, everything that we had was 50% discounted making it worth every penny paid.

A warm welcome from Gabriel Aman. We are sitting away from Tepanyaki Table. Ventilation is superb, no smell on our body nor hair. The service experience were great, the ordering and delivering food timing were reasonable. We ordered sukiyaki beef, soft shell crab and they introduced us to tepanyaki beef tenderloin. Sukiyaki taste a bit salty without eating with Japanese rice. Tepayaki Beef Tenderloin come with grilled vegetables. This is tasty, fragrance and delicious esp with their fried garlic. The beef we chose is from Autralia, medium raw so it just nice for us. Indeed, its juicy and tender. Soft shell crab is big, i personally prefer the smaller crab with thin layered flour. Overall portion is big, we would certainly want to come back and try their sashimi, and im not sure if they are serving raw prawn. We missed out sushi and sashimi. I hope they can remind us when we revisit them. Free flow Japanese tea and the tables are not too near to one another and we have our privacy and pleasant evening there. The ambience along way were great, as well as outside of this restaurant is a pool side. Beautiful place. Overall experience were good, tks for Lyna and Zuraini (i hope i get their name correctly).

From the moment I stepped into Iketeru, located in the illustrious Hilton Hotel, I knew I was in for a Japanese culinary adventure that would tantalize my taste buds. The ambiance instantly set the stage for an exquisite dining experience, with its sophisticated decor and warm, welcoming atmosphere. The meal commenced with Dobin Mushi, a delicate seafood broth presented in a charming teapot that infused the air with its aromatic scents, promising the delights that were to follow. The Garlic Fried Rice was a delightful symphony of flavors, perfectly accompanying the Teppanyaki Ribeye. The Ribeye itself was a masterful display of culinary expertise – a succulent piece with a nice mix of fatty and juicy meat, cooked to tender perfection, demonstrating the chef's deft skill at the teppanyaki grill. As for the grand finale, the maccha ice cream was an indulgent treat that provided a refreshing and sweet end to the meal. It was the perfect dessert to indulge in, an ideal reward for a moment of self-appreciation. The impeccable service further elevated the dining experience. A special mention must be made for Zuraini, Lyza, and Alam, whose attentiveness and professionalism shone throughout the evening. They ensured that every aspect of the meal was perfect, anticipating needs with a smile and enriching the overall experience.

One of the best steaks I’ve ever had. It was definitely wagyu beef and melted in my mouth. I had it cooked medium rare which was perfect. So much food in the set menu deal and as I mentioned I went with the Wagyu (dance) option. The seafood option also looked great. Great location beside the Hilton KL Sentral pool. Old Shanghai is brought to life at Opium KL, a popular spot known for its Asian cuisine and folklore-inspired cocktails. The bar's decor elegantly captures the essence of 1920s opium dens, with scenes depicted on the walls. The menu features revamped classics using local ingredients and Chinese influences, such as the signature Consort Yang and Assam Laksa cocktails.
This was my first time going back to The Old Shanghai since the pandemic. We went to celebrate a friend’s birthday. Am so glad that we went! The atmosphere was simply perfect. You’re transported into a relaxed, cosy, warm atmosphere. The service was also excellent. Staff were friendly and rather obliging. Perfect! The highlight of course was the food. The food was nothing short of amazing. My friends and I really loved the flavours and the presentation. Portions were also just perfect. We’re definitely going back there soon!

The curry butter prawns were good. Prawns were succulent and the accompanying sauce was rich and creamy with good balance with the flavours. The man tau was normal. Salmon was a little too fried but overall food was decent. Food is on a pricier side but it's on Changkat where you expect price to be slaughtering...

The black rice with soft shell crab is a must try. As for the noodles, it's also ok but I feel it was overpriced despite the huge serving. If you like to watch the busy streets outside, their location and table arrangements are perfect for that.

Nice ambience. Very dark hence pictures turn out nice. Salmon laksa - laksa is nice, salmon is extremely fishy so I just took a bite. Crab cakes taste like normal bun with tuna filling. Drinks are okay. Parking is hard considering the place is in the road full of clubs. The waiters are not sure whether the meat source is halal and they claim that the place has no alcohol even though the menu is full of liquor which is quite funny. Price is not justified due to the food taste. In short - I won’t return. Thanks.

Deco and food was good, beers was very expensive :) The name suggest a Chinese touch and feel of this restaurant. Located at Changkat Bukit Bintang, this area are known to be frequent by tourists and hence the higher pricing. On food menu are mainly Chinese food, some dim sum and bar snacks. We tried the fried chicken wings and calamari, both were good. On the drinks menu, the Old Shanghai probably has one of widest Chinese wine selections in town as well as lots of cocktail to choose from. We opted for Heineken draft beers (RM 31) that served in Chinese wine bottle. Drinking from a Chinese bowl, it gives a fun and nostalgic feels.

First time here for evening discussion.. the wines were good, not tacky at all. The place was quiet compared to the other drinking holes, sort of a rustic Shanghai food joint look. By the time we left at about 11pm, the place was busy with diners... A good comfy place without a large crowd

Happened to be in the Bukit Bintang area looking for a quick dinner. Passed by this place and decided to give it a try. Restaurant ambience and vibes was good, just a bit dark for me - especially the seats indoors. I got myself a seat at the bar counter. Ordered the Curry Spaghetti with Salmon which has spaghetti, salmon fillet, coconut broth, spices, dried shrimp, chicken, eggplant, long bean, tofu puff, egg, spring onion. Price excluding taxes and service charge was RM40. I was pleasantly surprised by the thick salmon fillet and the generous portioning of the shredded chicken in the dish. Taste wise it was nice but nothing out of this world to be honest. A decent place for a decent meal, but to be fair I didn’t order their speciality / chef’s recommendation. Worth a visit.

So I have to say that my experience in this restaurant is quite painful. Firstly, the food was mediocre although very well presented. Secondly, the staff was constantly harassing us to clear our cups and cutlery eventhough we weren't done, it felt like they were trying to get rid of us as fast as possible. Honestly, the restaurant is so dark as well. Perhaps others may like it, however I didn't enjoy it.

Since Food, drink are all looks beautiful, those are good for taking photo and posting instagram something but taste very normal. Beer is served by pot and plate, it's interesting but not good for drinking. Frozen cocktails are served with very beautiful looks but those are also not good for drinking. Recommend only for the people who wants to enjoy taking photos.

The food was okay as we didn’t expect that it would not be a traditional chinese cuisine. Cocktails are okay but will recommend the black dragon. Mango salad with soft shell crab is good to order as appetizers.

Like the interior design of chinese heritage. Service can give 4 stars, but the dishes are pricey and serve slow. Advised can skip the oolong tea. Tried one dish as snack, Braised 5 Spices Ducks Breasts (has some cranberries sauce) set with leaf lotus bun (3x at RM5). The duck breasts, eat together with bun and sauce ,not bad. The chinese mushroom I personally think does not match with the sauce as it has cranberries taste. Maybe you can give a try to drink and chill here.

Cool place. On the corner in a great district.good food and beers. The wine is expensive but I guess you get that in Malaysia.service was good and food was pretty good. Wine suggestions were good and helpful. This place is also known as opium.

While my dinner here is perfectly fine, it's not something to get really excited about. The food doesn't really grab my attention or make my taste buds explode but hey, the decor is pretty nice!

By reading other reviews, I was surprised with comments that food was ok. We have been in KL for 5 days now, and this was by far the best meal we've had. It is quite pricey but I would say that it's still reasonable for the quality of food you are served. Definitely recommend to people who are not measuring food with Michelin star rating 😋

We waited over 1 hour for our food just to realize that they forgot our order. The manager was nice enough to give us 10% off but don’t think I’ll be coming back. Drinks were good. Dimsum are probably taken straight from freezer as have no taste

A corner restaurant bar along Changkat. The name Old Shanghai is very intriguing, so my friends and I decided to make reservations for dinner. We were late 15-20mins and the nice thing was they held our table for us and remembers and were expecting us! We were shown indoor and my 1st impression is the interior isn’t as impressive as I’d imagine based on the restaurant name “Old Shanghai”. The settings and the bar is nice , not Wow. The food and drinks menu is nice! And I get again ahead of myself. I ordered 50 Shades of Grey as I like Vodka and passion fruit and citrusy drinks and my friends tried the Wind Spirits. I like the names of the cocktails, it’s very interesting. My drink is 👍🏻👍🏻 However the food aren’t impressive… it’s ok , let’s say I would come back for drinks but not for the food. Overall I Like the place, the staffs are friendly and nice, and it’s not as noisy and crazy as other joints in Changkat.

Dining In The Dark KL offers a one-of-a-kind sensory dining experience in the heart of Kuala Lumpur's bustling entertainment street, Changkat Bukit Bintang. Guests are immersed in absolute darkness and guided by visually-impaired "darkness experts" through a 4-course mystery dinner that includes an ice breaker session and special pairing house wine. This unique restaurant allows diners to appreciate their food using all their senses, making it a fulfilling and unforgettable experience.
An establishment that enables the blind to gain employment. We had a surprise birthday dinner here for a friend. Quite an experience...menu is made known after all is done. It's interesting menu that we either get partially an ingredient or two but many others will throw the scent off. Wine pairing is optional. To maintain the experience no cameras are allowed inside the dining area. They are kept in a locker throughout. The good thing is the menu is regularly altered to keep dining experience fresh.

Would you like to give something new a try? This place is highly recommended by me. You will experience dining in the dark without a phone on the table. It is completely dark. No phone allowance in the main place. The guide and the other staff members were both extremely friendly. The food is fantastic! The menu will be different every night, depending on the chef, and you must guess it at the end.

Excellent experience. Second time here and my guests thoroughly enjoyed itm one of the waitstaff were coughing and sniffing heavily which was worrying given the covid situation. Honestly that made us a bit wary about cleanliness and safety. But all in all I would recommend this place if you're looking for an experiential dining. Bar manager was also extremely friendly and courteous. Wine was divine, good selections.

Dined here probably 8 years ago, planned to do my proposal here, but didn't. Long story short, brought my wife here for her birthday last week instead. Pro: - Fantastic dining experience - You're paying for the experience, not food. But it does taste good Con: - If you or guest have phobia of darkness

All pic taken from outsiders before entering to in the dark dining room. Cause is really totally darkness when we enter for dining 😅 tbh.. very surprise for the darkness. Dun really feel comfortable…, abit dizzy while having my meal. Staff is very friendly n the one who serving us food is a blind person. The moment I entering to the darkness, I can feel him … as a blind person. And I’m so proud of him that he can serve us well.., letting us know every movement . Food was okay, I can’t describe much cause I dun even know wat I’m eating at the moment 😅, but I try to enjoy it. You only can experience by its own .

It’s a very interesting experience. They are very professional n make you feel safe though you are uncertain what you are in for. The food is top grade, very interesting n all taste very good.we thoroughly enjoyed our dinner n the experience. The server is blind n he is very good with his services. Able to make conversation to make us comfortable being in the dark n gave very good instructions to guide us throughout our 4 course dinner of 14 different servings. Well done Dining In The Dark. Kudos. I will want to eat here again.

It was an amazing experience to have dinner under completely dark entertainment. The foods were served by blind people who memorize all layout of the restaurant. I couldn’t even see 1cm away from me. We had practice of using senses except visible before having dinner. It was fun 🤭

I honestly have an amazing experience here... I can vouch that while you dine, it's pitch black. The staff especially Jonathan and AK is trained and extremely accommodating to my needs. And I like as well that they include a lot of tiny dishes in a meal so your taste buds keeps getting stimulated. I would definitely recommend to other fellows to at least have a try :) good job guys

Only thing that can be said is WOW what a surreal experience. The darkness just heightens your other senses making the food taste that much flavoursome. Top it all off seeing how many dishes you can identify at the end just adds more to the already excellent experience a must try for all who visits.

Watches and phones were locked away before being guided by our server (shout out to Marcos) into the dining room. It was such an interesting and disorienting experience wining and dining in the dark but the staff did their absolute best to ensure that we were comfortable throughout the night. Service was excellent and we were amazed by how the staff were able to navigate around the dining room in the dark with ease. We had a lot of fun trying to guess the ingredients in our dishes too!

A very unique experience for both of us in Dining in the Dark. We truly enjoyed having fun to guess what food was served on our table. We could only rely on our senses, it is very interesting especially when we used to see our food before we eat, but its never the same here. Excellent service by AK is appreciated, and I was all the time amazed by how he could serve us in the total darkness. We loved it.

It definitely a new experience for me. Eating in the dark. Your phone is locked in drawer. You can't even see your hand when you dining. The food is mystery and nice, once you finish and come out, they will show you the menu. My girlfriend and I have a good dinner there and have lovely chat here.

This was my fourth experience dining in the dark at different places… and I must say that this was my favorite. The staff are so engaging and kind. The food was delicious. And the presentation was genius! The order in which we were encouraged to have the dishes and the shapes of the serving plates helped to differentiate the dishes for discussion after the mean. I highly recommend this experience if you have the good fortune to find yourself in KL!

The entire experience was amazing! Right from entering the restaurant, the staff were attentive and nice. The whole restaurant was pitch dark (even being guided to your table was an experience in itself) and you can enjoy the food and conversation without technology distractions :) The menu was terrific and everything tasted so good. We had certain food requests and they accommodated everything. It was a surreal experience. Our server was so great with us and gave us very good guidance throughout dinner. It was an awesome experience! We were celebrating two birthdays in the family and after the dinner, the staff were very patient and took nice pics for us in the bar waiting area. If you haven’t tried, don’t wait any longer! Support the restaurant and their staff.

Din Tai Fung at Pavilion KL is a popular spot that's always bustling, especially during peak hours. The efficient service and consistent quality of the food make it a favorite for many visitors. Despite the occasional wait, the experience is worth it. One visitor particularly enjoys working through the menu and has found their favorite dish to be the pickled cucumber, which offers just the right balance of coolness and heat.
What I really love about Din Tai Fung is how consistently good it is in terms of service and the overall quality of the food they serve. It doesn't matter which branch you decide to dine in today, you can be sure that you'll have a good tasting meal and quick and polite service. It is probably my fourth time here, but I will for sure come again the next time I am in KL. P.S. It can get very busy here during peak hours, so don't be surprised if asked to wait for 10-15 minutes until your table is ready.

Been here a few times over the years but oddly enough, I never thought to take any pic for my review - until recently when I popped by with the munchkins. My niece reminded everyone that we should not touch the food until I have taken photos 😅 Anyway, we like the food here and the service have always been efficient. The only grouse we have is that we usually have to queue for awhile as it is quite a popular place especially during peak hours. The kids also like them and they always order the same dish no matter which outlet in which country they visited (so consistent). Me? I am working my way steadily through their menu. My favourite so far is their pickled cucumber (pic no available). They have just the right balance of cool and heat.

This is a must visit for me when ever I KL, ( I have visited Malaysia 5 times over the last 7 years) however on this visit, I felt everything from the decor to the service has become tired and the food was average, not to exciting. There is a lot of newer options in exciting dining options at the Pavilion and Din Tai Fung must not live on just past glory

Had the shrimp fried rice (RM25++) and smoked salmon yee sang (RM68++). They were very generous with the shrimps, and the rice portion was huge enough to fill me up. Very tasty food, crunchy shrimps, fragrant rice and cooked just right. Smoked salmon yee sang used fresh ingredients - very refreshing.

Have been to a few of the chains locations in Asia, first visit here in KL. Always quite consistently good quality and well prepared. We enjoyed a late lunch here. My only concern is the prices are a bit high compared to similar options but you know you’ll get a good meal.

Ding Tai Fung’s food quality still up to par. Always my go-to restaurant when we run out of idea to eat. Their xiao long bao, fried rice with shrimp, dumplings all good, very much recommended!😍
Siew Ling L — Google review
This place was a complete let down and not what we expected. The beef noodle soup was bland and tasted diluted - I've had much better broths from street stalls so I don't get how it was messed up that badly (I couldn't even fix it with chili oil/sauces). Xialongbao were OK but nothing special, the top of the wrapper felt dry and didn't feel like it was steamed properly. Chocolate dumplings... should just not exist. That was not pleasant. All in all not worth the hype.

This casual family chain restaurant famous of the juicy Xiao Long bao steamed pork dumplings, so good we had 10 pieces x 2 sharing between four of us, also signature sweet sour noodle soup, prawn fried rice, rice wine chicken, wash down with the refreshing lemongrass honey drinks
K T — Google review
The atmosphere is good, staff keep talking with each other and didn’t really be attentive to customer, not even provide the ginger for the Xiao long Bao. Sour spicy soup tastes not bad but the taste more on sour. I love their Xiao long Bao and dumplings, there are soup inside with the filling which is really tasty. I love their pork and vegetables bun, the bun is fluffy and the filling was stuffed. Price is above average, but definitely worth trying if you never try before,

Excellent dumplings. We have eaten at this restaurant chain in other cities and the food is always great, and it was also fantastic in Kuala lumpur. We like you can see they make the dumplings, there are Windows around the Kitchen. High quality and value for money.

One of the most consistent Chinese restaurants. Very high quality xiao long bao, prawn dumpling and prawn roll but their best food is probably egg fried rice. Each grain is coated evenly in golden egg yolk. Staff is well trained and service is tentative here. Only complaint is the premium pricing but at least the quality is there

Din Tai Fung is very consistent in their food quality. Their Xiao Long Bao is their signature dish. I had the Noodle with shredded pork, pork chop, spicy vege pork wanton, pork fried rice and string beans pork. Food is good but service was a little slow.

Absolutely the best place for dimsum and the fabled Xiao Long Bao. I have never been disappointed by Din Tai Fung, whether in Bangkok, Kuala Lumpur or Singapore. Their signature taste remains the same. This time I also had the scallion sauce noodles with shrimp, which was great as well. Service was very good and prompt. Will definitely recommend.

Ishin Japanese Dining is a top-notch restaurant located in the bustling metropolitan area of Kuala Lumpur. Specializing in traditional and Kaiseki cuisines, Ishin offers a warm and inviting atmosphere with its well-designed interior and ambient lighting. The oval sushi counter provides an opportunity to witness the chefs' meal preparations up close, adding to the overall dining experience.
Wonderful place with Great Japanese food quality and good service. However the restaurant ventilation needs to be upgraded. It smells. The beauty of it being able to witness sushi being prepared in front of you. Being lovely to offer ladies drink for the night.

Wonderful place for Japanese food. Seems like privacy of each table is a priority. Every table is covered with 6ft tall partition. Very nice Japanese food with reasonably generous portions well worth the high price. Sashimi was really fresh. The garlic rice was really good. The seafood inside the Seafood Tepanyaki set was also big and fresh. Scallops were well cooked to perfection. Shishamo also freshly fried and perfectly done. Very good service. The food also served pretty fast. They have good range of Japanese whiskey Hibiki and Yamasaki. Plenty of parking available on a Friday lunchtime. eWallet payment is accepted.

Food was on point. Most of the food were made real fresh, especially the Sashimi were the best dishes we had here. They served special menus like Japanese tomato and whit eggplants, both were equally delicious. Served by Phyo and his colleagues, very professionally trained and helpful. Udon seafood pot was just mediocre level. Not so recommended on their desserts though, definitely not the best you can have. Free parking with valets to jaga your car as well.

The restaurant did provide jockey parking for free however the way they approach to customer will need to be train again. This is our first visit, when we reach there, the person straight to our car and told us that he will park our car so we need to give them our car key. We were shocked and slightly worry as we are not sure if this is chargeable or how is the arrangement. After we confirmed with the restaurant then only pass our car key to the person. All tables having own partition but for 2 persons, we being assign to the place which not really nice view. The table was split into 2 part with a curtain blind. Overall we still satisfy with their service and food. The ingredients very fresh, food presentation and taste are good. We are going to this restaurant because of the recommended off menu - Unagi Don, and it is taste good but slightly expensive.

1,000+ reviews…What’s one more? Who will care? Well, my friend, let me tell you the story of the girl on the beach. She was running after a storm, throwing starfish back in the water one by one. I stopped her and shouted “why are you doing that, you can’t possible save them all!” She replied “but I can save this one….and this one…and this one.” I cried. I feel the same now. 1,000+ reviews, why write one? One reason, Joshua. He was our sushi chef and I’ve hardly ever met a more humble, caring and honorable man. He quickly made some of the best sushi we’ve ever tasted. He educated us on the right way to cheers Sake in Malaysia…and Borneo! He sent free sorbet (delicious) to our seats. It’s not often you come across both a scholar and a gentleman in the sushi world. Joshua is surely both. Ask for him and enjoy the starfish.
