Han Chin Pet Soo

History museum
This history museum is devoted to the region's tin mining history, development and culture. It has exhibits on tin mining, activities such as gambling and opium smoking that were rife in the 1800s, and also on Hakka culture. The building where the museum is housed used to be the Hakka Miners Club.
This is definitely the best museum tour I've ever had. I made booking online before visiting. If you are lucky enough, you will also be able to join the tour if there are still empty seats available. Mr Leong is super knowledgeable and friendly. He shared almost everything about the Hakka culture with tin mining, very detailed and clear story telling from him. There are also many antique pieces displayed at the museum and bring back so much memories of my parents. Definite a 10/10. Strongly recommend if you are visiting Ipoh.

A very informative gallery on the Hakka community's history in Ipoh, and how the tin mining industry shaped them. A well-preserved building once almost in ruins (RM 10 donation, which is not "fee" is used to maintain the building as they are a non-profit organization). Please made a reservation online before there as the private tours available on 4-sessions only.
Harith Jamaludin — Google review
A must visit museum about the Hakka clan who migrated here in the early years. Scan the barcode and book free access for a guided tour. Would be good to give a donation after the tour as they need money to maintain the place.
YC Khong — Google review
This is an excellent guided tour of the history of tin mining in Ipoh and the club of the mine owners. It's free to visit, however the suggested donation is worth every cent. Please go to the website to make a reservation to plan your visit.

A wonderful visit to this museum. The tour guide explains in depth on the history of Tin mining in Ipoh as well as the migration of Hakka people from China to Tanah Malaya. It is a free tour but visitors are welcomed to give donations accordingly as it is a non profit museum.

Really informative tour and I highly recommend it! Learnt a lot about the Hakka pioneers of mining and appreciated how they tried to recreate and maintain the life they lived at that time. This place is not hot because it’s air conditioned, so that was a great bonus! You need to book tickets on their website in advance and should arrive like 5 mins before your tour starts. Enjoy and do donate to their good cause!

Visited Han Chin Pet Soo today with 4 friends. Made early booking for a private tour. Our tour guide Mr Leong is very professional, knowledgable and friendly. The 60-70 mins tour felt like minutes because we thoroughly enjoyed it. A lot of effort had been put into preservation of this place. For anyone visiting ipoh, I personally think it is worth a visit to get a deeper understanding of Ipoh history. Appreciate years of effort in keeping this place together. Would bring my family here next time.

Best museum tour that I have. You need to make reservation online. Can scan the QR code to make reservations. The person in charge gave very detailed and informative history of Ipoh town. The entrance is free. They accept donations. It is run by NGO association

Very well keep museum and a lot of history. Excellent tour guide who can relate the old time history well enough. A place worth to visit and fees is only by way of donation for upkeep of the museum.

A great visit to this museum and a must to understand more about Ipoh’s history. The tour guide explains very well the history of Tin mining in Ipoh as well as the migration of Chinese Hakka people from China to Malaysia. It was really interesting and entertaining! We easily booked the English tour online (3 per day at the moment). The tour is free but donations are encouraged.

Han Chin Pet Soo, nestled in Ipoh’s center, stands out as a must-visit destination in the city. While admission is free, booking through their website is mandatory prior to your visit. The guided tour is conducted in English, spanning approximately one hour. The three-floor building offers a comprehensive display of the Hakka community’s history in Ipoh. Our experience with the guided tour was delightful, as our guide exhibited extensive knowledge about all the exhibits. As a non-profit organization, donations are encouraged upon leaving to support the upkeep of this remarkable place.

If you can only choose one historical museum to visit, I highly recommend Han Chin Pet Soo! Not only it’s free, our volunteer tour guide (Leong) was so passionate and detailed throughout the 1 hour tour. The exhibits are very interesting, there are different sections within the museum where you can learn about the house, the tin mining industry, the Chinese community in Ipoh, about Hakka people, Hakka food and Chinese immigrants to Malaysia… so worth our time there and we enjoyed the stories told so so much! Please donate to them if you can for the upkeep of the place and hopefully more people can come and visit it. Please note that there are only 3 sessions of tours per day and you can only come in with a tour - so definitely book them in advance!

It is a very interesting museum about the history of Hakka clan and their establishment in Ipoh. Special thanks to Mr Leong (the museum guide) for his outstanding presentation that lasts about 1 hour. This museum really deserves a 5 star rating. To those who want to visit this museum, pls make a prior reservation through its website. While no entry fee is imposed, pls donate to support the maintenance of this invaluable museum, as this is a non-profit organisation.

I wonder if the people depicted would know that someday this will be studied by people from the future. Fascinating place… there are many artifacts here but the most important thing is the guide here that makes everything come to life. Our guide is professional and also humorous at times, very enjoyable 45 mins with him exploring the 3 levels of this villa. Do note that prior registration is required, we registered the day before and managed to get a slot.
Jie Ying — Google review
The museum is located in the old town area of Ipoh. Although it is open to the public, visitors are required to make online reservations in advance as there are limited sessions available each day. Each guided tour session lasts for one hour, and once the session begins, the doors are closed to prevent other visitors from entering. The guides provide articulate and detailed explanations about the history of Ipoh, starting from the migration of the Hakka people to the tin mining era and the dark times of Ipoh's past. The museum consists of three floors with some slightly steep staircases, which might be a bit challenging for elderly visitors. Nevertheless, it is one of the best museums I have ever visited in Malaysia. Even though admission is free, they accept voluntary donations.

Super interesting museum! Free entry, but feel free to donate as they also need some money to up keep the place. There’s also a speaker to guide and bring us around in the museum explaining everything in detail! So please be on time as the tour will start on time. The speaker is really knowledgeable and humor too! Enjoy every bit in this museum, feel free to make a booking to visit this place!

Interesting guided tour about the tin miners and their "club". Make sure to make a reservation in time! The tour is free but a donation is expected. Recommended to learn about the culture of the Hakka Chinese people.

Very interesting to see how the previous generation made their life throughout hardship and determination. A MUST visit! It needs a reservation to go in due to the house condition. Better go reserve a slot before you go for the food around the area.

The Ho Yan Hor Museum is a small museum in Ipoh Old Town that tells the story of Dr. Ho Kai Cheong and his invention, Ho Yan Hor. The tea has been helpful to locals for over 80 years and is also affordable. The museum features interesting exhibits about the tea's ingredients and history, as well as a display of 20 of the 24 secret herbs used to make it.
Interesting museum to visit when traveling Ipoh town. The museum shop house is well maintained, very clean. Historical items and information board all placed professionally. The place have limited 12 visitors only at one time, visitors will be allowed to go in by batch/grp, can take some own time slowly read the story of HYH founder. Free admission. Visitors can have 6 different HYH herbal tea at the end of tour. Me and family members enjoy the visit. Thanks to Ms Yuan 🥰 We went around 11am on a Tuesday, there are a grp of 2pax and another grp of 4pax before us, waiting time about 25min. There is a public car park behind the shop house.

Didn't know reservation could be made so we needed to wait for 30 mins. It is a great tribute to the founder and learn the history of the company. 6 different kids of herbal tea are served at the end. Note that they only sell the herbal tea in set/combo at the museum.
Angela Leung — Google review
Although there's nothing interactive in this little museum, it's very informative and professionally set-up. Strict adherence to SOP here, so come early to avoid long queues. I saw some people losing patience with the staff, which was unfair as they are just complying with limits of people in the venue. The tea tasting at the end is really a highlight as well, and their gift packages were really good value.

It's worth going to have a knowledge of how this great tea producing company got started in the beginning. The entrance is free of charge. The voluntary staff are friendly and knowledgeable. It is worth a visit.
manoc98 — Google review
Free entrance but would need to pre book slot in advance thru their ig or website, not so crowded on weekday, really good tour guide and interesting explanation, would have around 30min to walk around by yourself and then got to try free samples of the tea, they sell their tea at cheaper price if you’re interested

This is the place where the founder started his business and he stayed here. It's an old double storey shop house. The staff is friendly and give a brief history about the founder and the place. Then we proceed to explore the museum. The museum is very clean and well maintained. The herbal tea is served after the tour and you may purchase from them. The tea is nice.

The museum used to be Dr Ho Kai Cheong's original home. Admission to the museum is free, although there's a limit for 12 people at a time to visit. The guide was very knowledgeable about Dr Ho Kai Cheong's lifetime. For someone who loves history, it's a great experience learning the origins of the Ho Yan Hor herbal tea brand. At the end of the tour, I was given six different Ho Yan Hor tea samples to try. I bought some herbal tea as a souvenir for myself, my family and my friends. It is recommended to everyone to go here when you travel to Ipoh.

Nice museum. And it's free. Show the life and development of the brand and owner. Need go early to book a visiting hour. We book one at 11.30am around 1.30pm got to enter . Just have some time to have lunch and stroll around while waiting. Parking available just behind the muzeum. The parking@perak app can be use to pay for parking. However minimum reload of RM10 is needed.

A very good place to visit. This place is about the biography of Prof. Ho the founder of Ho Yan Hor herbal tea. Do visit their site to book a visit earlier. Tea tasting at the end of tour is great they don't force you to buy anything but the product is cheaper than outside. There are only two products RM50 and RM25

I recently had the pleasure of visiting this charming shop that doubles as a museum for their exceptional herbal tea products, and I must say, I was thoroughly impressed! Not only did they offer a wide variety of delicious herbal teas in sachets and canned drinks, but their commitment to preserving the history of their founder's tea business truly set them apart. From the moment I stepped foot inside, I was greeted by a warm and knowledgeable staff who made me feel right at home. They were more than happy to take me on a guided tour of the museum, sharing captivating stories and anecdotes about the founder and the rich heritage behind each tea blend. It was evident that they took immense pride in their work and genuinely cared about their customers' experience. The museum itself was beautifully designed, with displays showcasing the founder's journey and the intricate process of crafting their signature teas. The attention to detail was remarkable, and I found myself immersed in the fascinating world of herbal teas. Learning about the traditions, ingredients, and the unique techniques used in tea production was an absolute treat for someone like me, who appreciates the artistry behind each cup of tea. Now, let's talk about their teas! The selection available was extensive, catering to all taste preferences and dietary needs. From soothing to invigorating herbal tea blends, they had it all. The quality of the teas was exceptional, and I could taste the freshness with every sip. Their sachets were convenient for brewing at home, and the canned drinks were perfect for those on the go. What impressed me further was the variety of bundles and PwP (purchase with purchase) options they offered. It allowed me to explore different flavors without breaking the bank. The staff was more than happy to provide recommendations based on my preferences, ensuring that I left with the perfect assortment of teas. I cannot stress enough how exceptional the service was. The staff's passion for herbal tea and their commitment to creating a memorable experience for their customers was evident throughout my visit. They were patient, attentive, and went above and beyond to answer my questions and make personalized suggestions. In conclusion, this shop and museum is a true hidden gem for herbal tea enthusiasts. It seamlessly blends history, education, and exceptional tea products, making it a must-visit destination. I left with a newfound appreciation for the art of tea-making and a collection of exquisite teas that I continue to enjoy every day. I wholeheartedly recommend this place to anyone seeking a unique and delightful tea experience.

This was not part of my itinerary. Was actually a side tour and I initially planned to go, only if I had time. Boy, am I glad I made it here! This has gotta be hands down the most informative and well kept musuem I ever been to in Malaysia. Its clean, bright and the tour guide, Lady Soo was so enthusiastic! She just makes the entire tour so much more joyful, considering her advanced age...Lady Soo is a darling! The musuem is FREE, yup FREE of charge. There are time slots though so check it before you pop up. I was a single rider and managed to squeeze myself in, thanks to the kind Lady Soo. She will also serve you complimentary Ho Yan Hor herbal tea after the tour. She gives a preliminary background on the founder and how to self navigate yourself around the musuem. The musuem is 2 floors, located in a restored pre war building so everything is fragile. Please do not touch, but pictures are welcomed. Multi-lingual large posters lined the walls explaining the humble beginnings at the ground floor, while first floor explains their international expansion. Be proud of our local products. I know I felt super proud after the tour. Its small but I think the size is just nice. You can easily spend 30minutes here if you read every artifact's explanation. In addition to the complimentary herbal tea after the tour, you also get to purchase the tea and other products at a promo rate. You can give them away as souvenirs too. Highly recommended to visit in Ipoh. Much more fun and educational than Concubine Lane.

Reserved a spot via WhatsApp resulting in no waiting time. Entrance is free of charge. The museum is small but interesting, with history about the founder Ho Yan Hor and his herbal tea company. Best part of the experience is the complementary herbal tea tasting session in the end. Visitors may choose to purchase tea bags at this point. Staff are very friendly and did not give any pressure regarding buying their products. The entire experience took 30 minutes maximum.

Super interesting place to tell us about the history of Ho Yan Hor! This is the building where he started his business! Free entry too! They even offered us free herbal tea tasting at the end of the tour, if you would love to purchase you can too! They have a head count limit for people in the building, so it’s better to make an appointment before heading there. They have a few sessions per day.

Interesting museum about the history of a famous tea/pharmaceutical brand and a bit of history about Ipoh as well. The space is very small so you may have to get a return time if you're a walk in visitor. Staff are all very friendly. Nice way to spend a little time on the heritage trail.

Nature & Parks
Kek Lok Tong is a Buddhist temple located in Ipoh, Malaysia. The cave hosts statues of Buddha and Chinese deities, as well as some impressive stalactite formations. It is not easy to find, but it is definitely worth the journey if you are interested in Buddhism or geological formations.
Very beautiful, clean and peaceful temple inside cave. Easy to reach and the cave is well preserved, no foul smell unlike some other caves. It opens into a beautiful landscape harder which hosts a small pond. Need to visit before 4pm. Best part, it's cool inside, no matter how hot the outside weather is.. Magical!

What an amazing place! Highly recommend if you are traveling in Ipoh. Beautiful cave and Buddha statues. After entering the cave it will lead you to the other side of the mountain, it’s like entering to a beautiful park. Those with young children, you can actually buy fish food at the entrance of the cave before heading in. There’s lots of proper parking lots, so for those who drive you don’t have to worry too much.
Alvin Toh — Google review
The temple is a located just outside from Ipoh, but easy to reach from the highway. The parking lot is really close by and obviously suitable. We found easily a place on a Sunday afternoon. The parking is free of charge. There are also decent washrooms available in front and in the back of the temple. The temple itself is amazing, there are usually a lot things you find in many other temples, too. For instance nice statues from Buddhists or Confucius and all the other related religions symbols, but here this is all embedded into an amazing scenery of this limestone cave. You can see the impressive stalactites and structure of the limestone in a mysterious light. If you leave the temple on the other side you will find a nice yard or garden area with lakes and some options to spend more time in the nature. The whole area is very clean and the facilities looking well maintained. We spend there almost two hours on a early Sunday afternoon and the place was not so crowded. Even our children where impressed by this temple.

As a tourist, I really recommended to this cave (gua). Peaceful with serene environment. Some activities available here, self cycle duck boat & bi-bicycle, wishing tree, massage stone walkway, feeding fish in the big pond. No ticket entry charge but may donate some for maintenance. Awesome view enter into cave then came out from the cave with a pond view. Water drop naturally flow from top of cave. Suggest to come before noon time.

Place is literally a cave. The formation is interesting and even majestic. They would put lamps to highlight certain parts of it. Some stalactites also continue to grow (you can see water dripping from their tips). There is no entrance fee to go there so it's a good thing if you just want to view the place. On the other side of the cave, there's a river where you can rent a boat with family and friends. There's also a rent-a-bike and fish feeding activities. Overall the place is worth visiting if you like to see nature. The rock formation of the cliffs around the area is also beautiful. But besides that, there is nothing much else to see or do. Except if you are there to worship, of course. They have sculptures of Buddha and other religious figures.
Joyce Gem — Google review
This place is magnificent. From the entrance you will welcome with a grand Hall with Buddha for praying and beautiful limestone. Further up you will presented a paint like scenery with lake and beautifully crafted landscape. You can't resist to have taking photographs over and over again. The scenery gives you feels of peaceful. Make sure you visit Kek Lok Tong when you are at Ipoh.

It is a very enjoyable experience for a family day out. Go early to enjoy the cool atmosphere and avoid the crowd. The cave stalactites and stalagmites are awesome. The climb up to them is easy and can be done by the young and old. At the other end of the entrance, you'll find a decent to the zen garden where a slow walk along a pathway lined with statues of various deities, and its history explained its a must-read. Then there's the activity of the pedal boat and quad cycles.. here I'd where you cab bond with your friend and family.. laughter is guaranteed!!!🤣🤣🤣a driving the pedal boat can be a challenge for some. The cycle rides will tend to bring out the racing driver in you. Especially when racing with other members. Don't worry, it can't go very fast. To may encounter some domestic fowls and wild monkey too🐒 What's great is also the free entrance to the cave but the rides are not expensive and affordable for exercise while having fun.

A must visit if you come to Ipoh. Recommended to go early in the morning, since it would be much less crowded. It's simply beautiful and stunning, from the very front to the back garden. For those who travels using public transport, no worries it's really easy to book grab around the area, n they come pretty fast too.

There's a cave and a lake at the end of it. The atmosphere is tranquil and surrounded by green scenery. Nice place to take photos and enjoy some activities such as cycling and swan boat paddling. Parking is free and spacious but crowded during weekends

This place is stunning. Picturesque landscape with a beautiful temple built inside. It's truly a spectacle Outside they have a beautiful garden and lake at well, surrounded by limestone cliffs. I was lucky enough to see some of the wildlife there as well You can explore a couple of sections of the cave temple and see statues and holy areas. The natural cave system combined with a stunning temple means this is a must see location on your Ipoh adventure

This place was beautiful. Free entry to the cave/ park area. The boat ride was short but worth the $3 (USD) The cave is wheelchair accessible to entire by ramp. When inside there was a wheelchair elevator to one of the higher levels of the cave. However just note that the other exit to the park after going through the cave has only stairs which is unfortunate considering the actual paths were very flat in the park. Overall definitely recommend checking this place out.

Nice place and nice view. This cave very clean, has been cared by the management very well. I can teach my child about stalactite and stalagmite. The view is awesome. Walk through the cave and straight to the lake. You can feeding the fish, rent a cycle, and paddle boat. RM 20 for 30 minit.

Fee entrance, worth going. Quite considerate. Wheelchair and child pram friendly. They even build a lift for the wheelchair so there is no need to climb. Garden is beautify. Worth coming. Close at 430. But recommended to come latest 3pm is you wish to walk the whole garden. But I heard from the local 430 is where they close the parking gate only, if you are still inside, there is some small allowance. Lots of monkey, beware of your belongings.

This cave temple is great and wasn’t very crowded. The cave itself is huge with impressive formations and the walkways and stairs to the different chambers are well maintained. The gardens out back are nice to walk around. I didn’t do the boat ride or the bikes, which looked fun, but walked along the river and the scenery is nice. It’s quite a peaceful atmosphere.

One of the best of the many infamous cave temples in Ipoh. The really good thing about this cave temple is that it attracts people multiple race ethics and of different faiths to visit this spectacular cave. Great view of the vast garden and lake right at the inner side of the cave walking alongside the macaques that walks freely and they are not as aggressive as you have seen in many other places. Need to be cautious though in not approaching those baby macaques as their mums can be overly protective. The only spoliation is right at the back of the garden where there is a marble mining quarry. Definitely a good place to visit when in Ipoh.

A beautiful cave temple which is maintained well. Parking is free and have enough space. You will enter through one side of the temple and more amazing scenes are located on the other side of the cave. The statues are big which is located inside the temple. Outside, you have cycling and boating available and can have recreation in the nearby park which is surrounded by a lake.

Really beautiful temple and cave! The stalagmites and stalactites were really well preserved, and so uniquely grown. So stunning! The statues were also very clean and well maintained. Loved reading the descriptions of the monks and the history of this temple. There’s also a park at the bottom of the temple, where you can rent tandem bikes for rm10/ half an hour. Very very fun! Would definitely recommend spending about 2 hours at the temple to fully enjoy and appreciate the things they have to offer. Enjoy! :)

An enchanting place to visit and explore a large cave within a city ...full of stalactites and stalagmites with a hidden valley and waterways. BUT BEWARE of wild monkeys...STRICTLY NO FEEDING PLEASE...!!! COME EARLY AS THERE ARE SO MUCH TO SEE... Definitely will come again... Highly Recommended for those who love nature...

Breezy and cooler upon entering the cave. Nice big back garden. Rock mining behind the garden by an outside entity somehow spoils the otherwise splendid view.

Son brought me and nephew to this lovely cave temple which is more a tourist attraction. A Malay couple were posing for their wedding photos in the garden behind the temple. The cave formation is very nice with water dripping down some of the stalactites onto the stalagmites. Lots of birds in front and monkeys at the back.

The Funtasy House Trick Art is a contemporary art museum in Ipoh, Malaysia with illusions galore that can be enjoyed in trick photo sessions. It has been open for 2 years and still growing in popularity.
Fun place to be. We came on a Tuesday and there were hardly anyone around. There is an entrance fee as shown in the photos. We a family enjoyed it much. By the time we left 2 hours already flew by. The minus point is just one.....the parking around this area is just horrible. It would be better if you are willing to park just a little further and take a walk. We had much fun.

Funtasy House Trick Art is a really cool place with amazing 3D Trick Art Illusions. When you go there, it feels like going into a make-believe world where everything looks unreal. This place has a total of 2 floors; the walls adorned with photos and stickers on the floor guide guests to capture moments. A perfect spot to visit with the family and friends!

A fun place to visit in Ipoh! Had a great time taking a bunch of photos with the trick arts. The staff were also kind enough to help us to take the photos in the right way

The artwork was incredibly creative with vibrant colors making it look alive. We also could pose and become part of the art, making for some unforgettable photo opportunities. It's a fantastic experience after all, perfect for a fun day out with friends or family.

After exploring Concubine Lane, we decided to visit FUNTASY HOUSE TRICK ART nearby. While the concept was intriguing, we found the experience to be somewhat disappointing. The entrance fee of RM15 for adults was quite expensive, especially considering that children aged 5 to 12 were also charged the same price. Additionally, the area inside FUNTASY was relatively small, and we managed to explore everything within a 20-minute visit. Overall, while the concept of 3D art and photo opportunities was fun, we felt that the high entrance fee didn't quite justify the experience."

Birch Memorial Clock Tower

Mentioned on
Historical landmark
Sights & Landmarks
The Birch Memorial Clock Tower is an early 20th-century structure located in front of the Ipoh State Mosque. It was built by the British to honor James Wheeler Woodford Birch, the first Resident of Perak. Despite being controversial for his disregard of local customs, the tower stands as a tribute to him. While not as tall as Big Ben, it has a unique feature worth noticing. The area around the clock tower is part of a heritage trail that includes several other historic buildings.
A historical memorial at Ipoh. A nice place for a snapshot. However, Ipoh City Council should look after the tower better as lots of parasite trees began to grow. That tarnished a bit the value of that historical tower and the image of Ipoh as a whole.
Mohd Haryzal Ismail — Google review
A clock tower surrounded by food stalls, wasn't expecting that. I didn't stay long due to the hot sun shining from above. But it's worth visiting if you're in Ipoh.
Gary Looi CW — Google review
If you find yourself in Ipoh, walking along the Heritage Trail should be one of the highlights. The Birch Memorial Clock Tower stands out apart from other structures as it serves as a reminder of a murdered British "Resident" or in other words, an appointed colonial political governor. Located in Ipoh's older sector, it is surrounded by notable buildings such as the State Mosque, several heritage bank buildings, the Ipoh Town Hall/ Old Post Office and Ipoh Courthouse. The Padang Ipoh is also within a short walking distance. The many closed food stalls located within the open square surrounding the clock tower are probably an afterthought as it doesn't seem to be integrated well. Maybe converting some of the stalls into arts and crafts outlets would be more appropriate.

One of the Historical place to visit when in ipoh . near dataran Dato Sagor , masjid negeri and old shop ... there is a makan place behind the memorial..
Sheikh Ayub AL Zarafee — Google review
1-star review because I cannot understand the reason for having a special clock tower to remember the colonizers. It does not make sense to me to spend money on a memorial for the colonizers when there are so many local heroes who should be appreciated instead. Furthermore, the clock tower itself is not particularly interesting or unique, and I think the money spent on it could have been put to better use in improving other aspects of the city.

Cuisines Restaurant offers a delightful dining experience with its spacious and visually appealing ambiance. The restaurant is known for its excellent service, with staff members like Mr. Jeet and Mr. Tanvir receiving praise for their friendly and accommodating nature. The Grilled New Zealand Lamb Rack is a popular choice among patrons, praised for its tender meat and perfect charred edges. While the high tea set is enjoyable, some suggest adding more savory options to enhance the experience.
Had breakfast using free buffet voucher got from staycation. Food varieties were good, around 6 types and with cakes and fruits.

Came here for the High Tea. Great service especially by Mr. Jeet. He's friendly, accommodating and polite. Thank you for your great service. The high tea set itself is quite nice but could be improved by adding more savory options. However, the price is affordable. Beautiful surrounding. Good for picture taking. eWallet Boost and TnG are accepted here.

Visited for breakfast during our stay at the apartment. The views overlooking the lake and limestone hills with the virgin forest is quite a scene. Very cooling, hardly humid. Didn't encounter any mosquitoes or insects. Food was ok. It's the ambience and views here which is a standout. The guest service officer, Miguel, is a very friendly and hospitable chap.

Food was decent as a hotel - portion size was sufficient, taste not bad. Service staff was friendly but the food was served extremely slow. We were here around 1pm, they start serving the food one item after another and the last item was served after 1 hour.

This place is so pleasant to the eyes. Beautiful nature view and the room is really spacious . It was my girlfriend's birthday so celebrated at the cuisines restaurant. Requested for deco on the table with a la carte dining. It was gorgeous and she loved it. Highly reccomended. Food is decent no complaints. Mr Tanvir did a good job in accomodating us

The menu offered a diverse range of dishes, and the quality of the food exceeded expectations. The service was attentive and prompt, contributing to an overall enjoyable lunchtime. This is coming from being a repeat customer. This is our 4th time here. It seems the quality has significantly dropped. Perhaps it's because the place is full. We had to wait 10 mins for cutlery being replenished. The signature welcome drink is no longer available and we were offered cordial instead. Breakfast was a nightmare. Dinner was rather shabby. They used to have a nice set dinner served complete with soup, main course, dessert and drink. This time there was no soup. Not recommended to order spaghetti and meatballs - the meatballs were processed balls, not freshly made. The burger is ok and pasta marinara is ok too. We understand the costs is going up but it's hard to not compare to the past when you've been a loyal customer. Not recommended to take full board (eat your dinner somewhere else!). After all, we're in Ipoh.... there's no need to eat hotel food if it's shabby. The staff are all trying their best but it's tough when there's lack of training and resources. Anyway this will probably be our last time there. Time to check out other properties in Perak.

We had breakfast here as part of our hotel stay. There was ample buffet food, however, the taste can be improved. The nasi lemak and pasta tasted flat and flavourless. The service was excellent though and the staff helped me get some food.

Dim sum restaurant
Chinese restaurant
Located in the heart of Ipoh, this dim sum restaurant is always packed with locals and tourists alike. Apart from offering a wide variety of delicious dim sum, it also sells some fancy mooncakes. The most popular items here are the orange peel lotus paste mooncake and durian lotus mooncake.
Best Dim Sum in Ipoh. Why Best? Bcs ambience is 5 stars, interior design is pleasing and very airy open air yet cooling. 😊 Came on Saturday morning peak hour 9am yet tables are available (its 2 levels and 3 shoplots together, ample seating available). 😉 Dim sum served is 精致 and freshly wrapped and steam upon order (serving time is reasonable 15mins since you know its handmade) If you are in a rush, don't eat dim sum okay? 😥 Service is great, basically you don't need to refill own tea, staff will help you. Price is OK provided with the quality, 2 pax for RM53+. 😊 Will come again. Side note: We plan to come for Ming Court,😂 but utterly there is long queue of wait and restaurant is small. The last thing we want during covid-19 season is crowd, and also the feeling of rushing to eat just to spare a table for the next customer.

The only best is the service, not sure how the others been treated but we’ve been treated really well. The food were not up to standard, taste either too salty or too bland. Double milk dessert is like the steamed egg, taste ok. Don’t order the walnut meat floss crepe roll, taste weird and bland, simple ingredient just put together without any effort.

If you wish to enjoy your breakfast, you need to come as early as 7am. Else, it will be pack and full of people. The environment is good for family gathering, especially. But, the price for each food is quite expensive. Reconmended : Fish ball Yam kuih Porridge Chicken feet Ho Yip Fan Ha Gao Manggo pudding The service need to be improve, workers quite rude.

Big Chinese Dim Sum restaurant in Ipoh. This is one of the famous Dim Sum restaurants. On top of Dim Sum, they also offer variety of dishes and rice items during lunch. Food quality is average and price is on the high side. There is a que during weekends and holiday season. Parking is available outside of the restaurant. If there is no public parking available, you can also consider to park your vehicle at the private carpark.

Visited on a weekday morning and there was no waiting time at all. We were seated almost immediately. There was a huge variety of items on the menu to choose from and the prices were all very reasonable! Food was served promptly upon ordering. We will be back to try the other items on the menu in the future!

Absolutely without question, the BEST dim sum in town. Decor is beautiful and nostalgic, staff is professional and the food is delicious. The serving sizes are very generous with ample seating. Food has been consistently good year after year of coming here to eat. After a two-year pandemic hiatus, absolutely nothing has changed! The food is just as consistently delicious as before. All the dishes arrived hot and fresh.

We came here with high expectation as we wanted to try other dimsum restaurant in Ipoh, to be honest the food were not up to the expectation, taste was normal, but the texture was good. The staffs are very friendly and the environment is very clean and comfortable. Price doesn’t justify the taste of the food.

An open restaurant (non Aircon) but it is very airy as they have installed lots of fan that keep the air circulating so you feel cooling. Didn’t order much dishes as there was only 2 Got the usual Siew mai, har gau, pork ribs, crispy taro puffs steamed egg, egg tart, char Siew puff pastry, traditional carrot cake. The dishes came piping hot so you have to watch else will burn your tongue or let it cool before you eat. Generally the food was not up to my expectations of usual dim sum. Taro skin was hard and not crisp, carrot cake was too soft, egg tart and steam egg a Tat too sweet for my liking but maybe ok for others. The egg tart skin was very layered and crisp.

Very spacious and nice dim sum eatery offering a wide selection of dim sum amongst others. Tried their steam taro and supreme shrimp dumplings and the shrimp was fresh to our delight! The stir fried glutinous rice was also satisfying. Service was good and price reasonable.

This dim sum restaurant serves good dim sums. Some of them not found in Singapore. Like the double boiled milk, Hakka Yong tofu and green beans pork ribs. Love the service and was amazed by the server who flipped the glutinous rice chicken just to get it out of the container. Overall food is great.

Long waiting time. Bad service. Worker talked with bad temper when I asked them on the food waiting time. Don't come to this place if you dont want people to spoil your mood. The food quality dropped drastically. Photo of Pao attached, Can see how thick is the skin.. I believe any other dimsum shop around is way better than this one.

I came here on weekend and the wait is around 20 minutes. The service is good. I mostly tried the unusual dim sum menu such as the special sauce chee cheong fun , white curry siew mai and fried taro cake. It did not disappoint me. The taste is unique and has a satisfied breakfast. In my opinion The food is quite pricey but it is normal for a good dim sum place.

This has always been my favourite dim sum place in compare within the 3 dimsum shop at the same street. The food portion is generous, flavourful taste, less oil, more variety. The service is friendly, although sometimes under staff, they try to serve you at their best. You don't need to refill your own tea water. The place is clean and have bright ambiance. Perfect for breakfast. The Chinese tea here is good compare to the next door opposite dimsum shop which smells and taste expire.
Kelvin LKV — Google review
It is quite a bit saddening to see the review section being throlled with negative reviewers when the reality is quite the contrary. The major reason for the overall bad reviews in my opinion is the crews' lackluster attitude during peak hours. Well, this is a well known dim sum restaurant and the crew would have the kind of flair bordering arrogance and to some 'lansi'. This might be the major drawback, I guess. As for food, it still retains the title for being the most premium in Ipoh. And their premium is really no child's play. The ingredients used are literally the most premium, menu most diverse and among all, a notch higher than its competitors. Hence the price falls on the expensive spectrum. Portion is overall reasonable and huge but there are a few disappointing exception, namely the 魚皮角 which is rather tiny. The 蝦餃 is good but their obsession with stuffing in the most premium ingredients made the outer skin thicker and prone to tearing. But the addition of the sweet 馬蹄 did give a punch to the generous prawn filling. Another standout in 餃 section is probably the basil dumplings which is a rather rare and exotic stuff not found elsewhere. The pumpkin porridge was also one of their nice and novel approach to the mundane peanut porridge. Waiting time is well longer than usual as I believe they employ a cook per request system in order to retain the consistency of the food quality. But this does come as some sort of drawback esp during peak hours. Just hope this will clear some doubt.

They have an extensive menu and lots of dishes they don’t serve in Australia, I wanted to try them all! 😄 My favourite dishes were Crispy Shrimp Rolls, Pan Fried Chinese Chives Dumplings, Glutinous Rice with Chicken and Wolfberry Cake. 😋 I loved about their great ambiance with spacious interior, high ceiling and lots of natural lights. The open air seating was welcoming, the restaurant was well ventilated with multiple fans around. I will return for my dim sum fix when I visit Ipoh next time~ 🙂

The glory days of Foh San is just a distant memory now. What used to be the best dimsum in town is just another dim sum store. Taste is no where great, and service is much slower. The dim sum took way longer to prepare and by the time it came it was no longer steaming hot. The worst was the lotus paste pao with salted egg yolk. The yolk was as way too hard and felt like a low quality yolk. The skin was bad as well. We recall their lotus pao was to die for, but now it’s not the case. For the price we paid, I would say it is definitely not worth the money and you should try others.
mC O — Google review
The food quality here is significantly worst from what I remembered. The har gao and Siew mai used to be the best I’ve tried but now they are just so bad. Har gao skin is so thick, Siew Mai is basically 90% fat. The radish cake is also a sad floury mess. The largest let down is the fish ball, it is not QQ and the inside is mostly empty flour. i heard from others that this place has dropped standard but I never thought it can be this bad. Seriously not coming back ever again. Another strange thing is the workers, such a strange vibe from them. I stood up to look for the place to refill tea and the old lady told me please don't stand up or else the boss will scold her. Half way through my meal the same lady came and ask me to move aside because she wana pickup the spoon that my baby dropped on the floor. She said the boss will scold her if there are utensils on the floor. Just...weird.

This is the dim sum place I went for decades since I was a child...even though many others similar eatery blooming around the same area...I still prefer to dine here. Their 'loh mai kai' is a must try dish, my friend never like 'loh mai kai' said this is the best. Their fried yam Pau is a must try dish, I gave it a 5 stars. 'Loh pak kor' is one of the best too. With two floors definitely very spacious n a nice n clean ambience to dine in despite being crowded. Their service is superb even though many of their service staff is a bit mature in age. One of our dish went wrong, they replace another two dishes without additional charges..though we didn't ask of anything replacement. Definitely a must go dim sum place for me n my family.

Dim sum restaurant
If you're looking for the best dim sum in town, Ming Court should definitely be at the top of your list. The variety of dumplings on offer is endless, and they always seem to be fresh and tasty. The pricing is also very reasonable, making it an ideal spot for a casual breakfast or lunch. Plus, the service here is super friendly and attentive - perfect if you're looking for great customer service!
I’d suggest to come here around 7.30-8am for better variety. Workers here are very friendly, had to come early to queue up. This place very hard to find parking as there’s many Dim Sum place within 100m radius from this shop. But the price is very worth it for the taste you get here and the hospitality. The food comes to you in trays according to the type of dish, so you don’t need to worry about not knowing what to get as you can see and pick the food for yourself. It’s about RM20 per person for a good tummy full breakfast if you’re a mediocre eater.

Be careful of the interior steps between the two shop lots. It's unexpected and you may trip. Generally the decor is old school ish. Simple and unpretentious. The waiters are efficient and quick. The unconventional thing is they carry the dimsum on metal trays to your table rather than the usual trolley you see in other places. You don't have to Q for it. The unique character of this place is that the dim sum comes in dainty small one bite pieces. It does make eating it much easier and it feels more enjoyable. Generally the taste is definitely above average and warrants a repeat visit. And the crowds is diners bear testament to that. But do they have an out of this world dish that would make you drive tens or hundreds of km for it? Sadly no. But if you are in the area, then it's a good place for breakfast.

This place is always packed. Reached around 8 am thought I would get a table however there were quite a crowd. Got my table about 30 minutes of waiting. They now have ticketing service which made things easier and no eyes looking at you while you are enjoying your food. So once you arrived at the restaurant, get a number from the waitress on duty. As for the food, it has less variety but I like the small portion. I love the fish balls most. The waitress are very attentive and they even remember to get my order delivered to me. A must go for me when I travel north.

We managed to get a table - arrived at 7am on a Sunday, fortunately didn't have to wait long. Food comes by on trays, tea goes out by the pot and it's self service to refill. Dimsum dishes are relatively small. Prices are somewhat cheaper than KL but not by much. Best thing about this place is the muachee! Only reason I would come back.

Wouldn't mind returning for another time. Friendly service crew. Old school style. Too bad wasn't the pushcart type. They carry in big trays with the different types of dim sum.

Came at 720am to have breakfast and so glad that there was no queue. We got a table for 2 and the food trays came along quickly for us to fill up our tables. The food is quite tasty but steamed dimsum could be warmer. At least the porridge was quite hot. Ordered about 8 items with 2 tea and it costs about RM51. Air conditioned restaurant so was still a pleasant dining experience.

This dimsum restaurant is crowded most of the time except if you come very early in the morning. Most of the dimsum here are nice & they still bring the dimsum to your table for your selection. Prices are quite reasonable & the service is prompt. If the restaurant is full, you will need to share your table with other customers. Anyway, this is not the place for small talk, just eat & go, it's very noisy.

A good place to come for some Tim sum if u can make it early in the morning. Heard that this place is well known for its long queues and long waits. Hence, we came at 8am and waited for about 20min to get a table. The time sun here is quite a old school. Food is flavourful and fresh. It’s definitely a good place to come when you want some old school dim sum. People here are friendly and they become friendlier when u speak Cantonese. By the way, it’s hard to get a car park, we had to park a couple streets away.

Wife was very eager to have her dim sum fix. Knowing that this place can get really crowded, we woke the whole gang up at 630 am. We reached there at about 8 and was asked if we were willing to share table (of course la!). Much to our surprise, we didn't really enjoy the dim sum. I remember my experience (more than 10 years ago) was nowhere this. Yes the dim sum pieces were small, but was lacking of the dim sum kick that I was expecting. I read the reviews and everyone is praising Ming Court's dim sum. Maybe it just wasn't our day.

I've grown up in this town and this by far is still the best dim sum in town. Will always come back for it. The taste is still nostalgic. Their portions have always been small, I think it gives me more opportunity to taste more varieties 😂! We love the siew mai, prawn mai, muar chee. Yummy! We enjoyed the food here. The are some varieties you can't find in other dim sum places. I'm so glad they have a simple queue system now.

This restaurant is well known to Ipoh residents and tourists alike. The place is very crowded. We ordered several types of dim sum, chee cheong fun, lor mai kai and bao. They were all delicious. However, they were rather small-sized. Cost-wise, we found it a bit on the expensive side.

The pizza restaurant Michelangelo's Pizzeria is the perfect place for pizza lovers of all levels of expertise. The menu features a wide variety of pizzas that range from classics such as The Hog to more adventurous options like The Greek and Italian Sausage Pizzas. There is something for everyone here, and the staff are always willing to help you find what you're looking for. If pizza is your thing, then Michelangelo's is definitely worth a visit!
Pizza crust was exceptional! Light and airy, and extremely crunchy and fragrant. Chewy but not dense at all. Love the crust so much! ❤ Tomato sauce base is not too sour and not too sweet as well, which perfectly complements every topping of the pizza for a perfectly well-balanced flavour. All pizza flavours are available to be made half size, so you can order 2 flavours for 1 pizza, which is highly advise if you are a first time customer as you'll be able to try 2 different flavours in one go. The brownie was amazing as well. It can be served either warm or cold. We had it warmed and it blew our tiny minds away. The brownie on it's own were sweet, but paired perfectly with the salted caramel sauce which was salty and slightly bitter, thus balancing the entire dish. Can't wait to visit again and try other pizza flavours and dessert items. 😋

Ordered a Bacon & Eggs and Hog Extreme/Salty Sweet pizza earlier, the taste was mostly present as usual (smokey and meaty!), but was a little disappointed to see the cost-saving measures put into place. Compared to the pizza I ordered last month (third picture), the amount of meat and tomato puree sauce provided this time was significantly less — apparent from today's HE/SS . For the B&E, everything was mostly concentrated in the center, so it made the outer pieces slightly harder to consume. The order was made just as the restaurant opened up, so it likely wasn't a crowd-related issue. Just bringing it up to your attention!

Pizza was great! Fluffy and light and flavouring was done just nice. 2 of us - ordered a pizza & made it half-half so we can try 2 flavours. White Truffle Oil was the bomb though Bacon&Eggs was also very nice! The pizza should be able to feed 3-4 small eaters. No outside drinks, gotta order from the restaurant. Owner is loud but friendly. Be prepared to queue for a while if you’re a party of more than 2 people

It was my favourite to-go restaurant in Ipoh. Yes, you heard it. It "was". Unlike our last visit, we got the feeling that we are not welcomed and the attitude is not friendly. We order two different pastas and one pizza. When one of the pasta is served, we are not told which pasta it is. It is like, the guy just came over to our table and placed the pasta on the table and swiftly walk away without informing which pasta it is. Imagine it is like the service provided in Hong Kong. Walk put go. Same apply to another lady. Food wise We order half half pizza (bacon and egg + 3 cheese) -9/10 Like the crust of the pizza. Flavour wise is 👍👍👍 Pasta (mushroom)-5/10 The aroma is lacking. Flavour is too bland. Lack of mushrom impact. Tiramisu -6/10 Lacking alcohol. I prefer more bourbon and whisky. Though it is still my favourite pizza spot but I do think twice coming here again. 🙃

Nice nice nice 🙂 the fragrance and the taste is sooo good. Delicious. We ordered 4 flavours. I love the white truffle oil and Arugula (I don't have the Arugula photo because I already started eating the truffle one, the fragrance made me lose control). My kids love the egg and bacon. All are yummy! Boss and waiters are fun and passionate. Boss jokes around and friendly introduces the restaurant and food to us once he knows we are first time here. The young energetic waiters suddenly appeared, sing song wish me happy birthday in a fun way. I am so touched. Again, the pizza is good, is real good. The best pizza I ever had.

American pizza with emphasis on MEAT and cheese! 🍕🥩🍖🥓🧀. Super filling and guaranteed scarification for carnivores. The last time i came here was in 2014 (university time). The place is super packed, big groups should make reservations first. Their pizza are meat heavy and their tiramisu are homemade with different booze rotation. We ordered the bacon & egg and the blue cheese pizza. Their bacon are no strips but thick cuts🥓! Imagine stuffing yourself full of meat 💯💯. Blue cheese 🧀 is acceptable even for first timer, we had 2 pizzas for a party of 4. Their pizza is not thick crust.

2nd time here. Lucky not many people and we could get a table. Food was good, owner was very friendly. Explained the menu and recommendations well. We ordered a half and half to try different pizzas. Then we ordered their carbonara pasta. Do note that their pastas all comes with pepper, not suitable for young kids. Dessert was good too. Will be back when we come to Ipoh again.

Look man, I’ve had my fair share of retail pizzas. Even by some who claim to have wood baked ones. And none of them can come close to what you can find here. The cheese isn’t the rubbery types you find from those type of shops. I mean, I’m not a food critic, and my words can’t fully justify the extraordinary gastronomical experience I had, but this pizza establishment is a MUST TRY. If I am not wrong, the owner is an American from New York, so these are of the New York pizza types as compared to the Italian ones. Most if not all of his ingredients are sourced from Cameron highlands, hence you get that freshness. Don’t take my word for it, try it! Prices are relatively affordable as well, with a huge variety of options, including pasta and some desserts. The only minor downside is that the music is a bit loud and obnoxious, but the food’s good enough to keep my mouth shut about it and still rate it full stars. Truly a gem of Ipoh.

A great pizzeria, and a must try in my opinion is the Italian Sausage Pizza. The meat itself is scrumptious and especially when it goes with the cheese. Dessert was okay but there is room for improvement. Finally, the service is not the best. The restaurant is always crowded so please come as early as possible. And for 8 people, we are seated in a tiny space with only two tables, which makes us pretty uncomfortable.

During my brief 2D1N stay in Ipoh, my quest for an exceptional evening repast led me to explore several renowned Western eateries. Thankfully, my decision to dine at this fabulous pizza establishment turned out to be a brilliant choice. The restaurant's unique offering of customizing pizza flavors with The-Mix option, allowing a delightful pairing of two distinct flavors on a single plate, instantly caught my attention. Moreover, the option to add-on with the special Peruvian sauce to every pizza is a great option. While the sauce's uniqueness is evident, the taste is subtle when eating with the pizza. Personally, I yearned for a more pronounced seasoning and zesty lime undertones. A commendable choice is the use of Heinz cans as pizza plates. This ingenious decision maximizes table space, allowing for a harmonious coexistence of other delectable dishes alongside the pizzas. Such thoughtful design fosters a comfortable and gratifying dining experience and I think it's actually a wise choice. Embarking on a gastronomic adventure, we boldly sampled the bacon & egg pizza – a choice that defied convention and rewarded us with an unforgettable palate journey. What sets the pizzas here apart is their balanced saltiness, allowing the exquisite herbal notes to dance on the tongue. The harmonious pairing of bacon and egg proved to be an unexpected revelation. However, the most amazing part of this pizza undoubtedly lies in the charred crust. It has a special crunchy, earthy crust and I wish I can have just the crust as a side dish. The sheer joy of encountering such a remarkable pizza in Malaysia is unparalleled. While a touch more salt might elevate the experience, the pizza is impressive as it is. We couldn't resist indulging in their highly recommended tiramisu. The flavors are nothing short of wonderful, and the moist texture adds to the delight. My only minor observation is that the ladyfinger cookies could retain a bit more of their texture, although this doesn't detract from the overall experience. Tiramisu seems to be a popular choice among patrons. I wouldn't go so far as to fighting with my date over this delectable dessert, although its charm remains undeniable. We can observe the owner's fiery passion for his restaurant, as he circulates among the tables, checking with customers every now & then and ensuring their satisfaction. The staff members mirror this enthusiasm, providing impeccable service with a friendly demeanor. Some may remark on the crowd and loud music, but I found it to add a unique ambiance. The variety of music, spanning from '80s pop to modern K-pop, is quite intriguing, contributing to the overall charm of the place. The only thing I would ask for more is the choice of beverages as they offer mainly soft drinks. This memorable dining affair at MichelangelO's Pizzeria encapsulated the epitome of a perfect evening. A testament to Ipoh's culinary prowess, I hope to witness MichelangelO's Pizzeria continue to thrive, granting me repeated visits whenever I'm in town.

A must visit every time I’m back to Ipoh! Love the rock and roll aesthetic and the music is always on point. One of my all-time favourite pizzas is here, it’s the bacon and egg, and I’m drooling just thinking about it 🤤. Also, the staff and owner are very friendly which really adds to the experience!

I entered with the question as to why everyone has rated it so highly and I have my answer for sure! Hands down the best pizza I’ve eaten till now in Malaysia! The ingredients the preparation screams best American pizza in the town from a long distance! Will always visit when in ipoh!

Really great experience eating here! We came on a public holiday at around 7pm and waited for 20 minutes for a table. Thought the staff were very communicative and organised all who were waiting outside well! We ordered Peruvian pasta, and a half and half pizza with ham& mushrooms and mighty meatball pizza. All were really so good! The Peruvian pasta was spicy af though haha, but really enjoyed it! The dough was thick, soft and so fresh; the toppings were very generous and not too salty. Mm so good! Waiting time was about 10 minutes and price came up to RM90, which isn’t too bad for such a full meal. Would definitely recommend coming here for a hearty meal with your friends or family - the wait outside is worth the wait! Enjoy! :)

Noisy environment and lousy service. This is the second time i visited, came long way from Penang to just enjoy the pizza here with my friends. As i am having abit of flu and coughing so i brought in my own plain warm water tumbler this time but the owner seem unfriendly told us if you want to bring your own water please pay RM5.00. Well, sorry to say that i am hesitate to come again next time as not only this place serve good pizza. Beside, so many black charcoal burnt at most side of the pizza as attached, this is so wasted.

Hands down one of the best pizzas in Malaysia. We had half Peruvian Bacon and half Early Bird — both were SO good. Size is large and in my opinion, worth the price. Atmosphere was cosy and reminded us a lot of Shakey’s Pizza (IYKYK). Note that the price of their drinks are a little on the higher end and the music is pretty loud, since they’re a rock-n-roll pizzeria 😉

Great atmosphere! The owner was very friendly and approached to every table and explained the menu. Very generous with the toppings. The dessert is a must try, tiramisu was great!

Wide selection of great pizza in a great shop served by a friendly boisterous owner that may invite you to dance. In fact as a pizza person this is probably the best pizza I've ever tasted, being generously topped and deliciously charred. Even the pasta and desserts (especially the alcoholic tiramisu) were supremely superb. The only downside here is the relatively long wait especially for larger groups butttt then again, the wait is more than worth it if you ask me! Truly not just a feast for the tastebudds but a complete experience from the moment you start queuing until you step out satisfied

Nestled in the heart of town, this pizzeria boasts some of the finest slices in the city. Utilizing a traditional brick oven, the pizzas here exude authenticity and flavor reminiscent of Italy's culinary heritage. Each pie is a testament to the centuries-old tradition of brick oven baking, ensuring a perfectly crisp crust and bubbling toppings that delight the palate. Quality ingredients and expertly crafted recipes elevate the dining experience, with every bite bursting with robust flavors. However, be prepared for a cozy atmosphere as the restaurant's popularity often leads to limited space and a bustling crowd. Expect to queue for a seat, but rest assured, the wait is well worth it. Amidst the hustle and bustle, the ambiance is set with the energetic vibes of American rock music, adding a lively soundtrack to your dining experience. While the environment may be a bit cramped, the friendly staff and exceptional pizzas more than compensate for any inconvenience. For a taste of true Italian-inspired pies with a rock 'n' roll twist, this pizzeria is a must-visit destination for pizza aficionados.

Been here the second time all the way from Port Dickson. I'd say the service is top notch with good American ambience. Baking pizza the American way and it taste so much nicer than other pizza chains. Would be a plus point if you have root beer float to go along with!

The atmosphere is American style, with loud music that I personally didn’t like it. However, the service is nice, will introduce you if you are first coming. I accidentally ordered 2 kinds of similar flavours, so will be full easily. Overall is nice, if you are pizza lover can go and have a try.

Asian fusion restaurant
Plan B is a trendy Asian fusion restaurant that is perfect for couples who want to have a romantic dining experience in Ipoh. The atmosphere and design of the restaurant are top notch, making it a great place to hang out with your partner. The food here is equally delicious and varied, so there's something for everyone to enjoy.
Good food and very nice ambiance place.. Gone for brunch but feeling like having lunch.. Very big breakfast.. Coffee quite good above average..

A fusion restaurant that is nestled in the old town of Ipoh amongst the famed Ipoh food. The place was pretty quiet for dinner time, possibly because it was the midweek. The interior was very industrial and modern. The food is pretty standard across all the chain. Service was good and quick.

It is an amazing cafe since it is surrounded by aesthetically pleasing old building and decor. Being unfamiliar with the location, it's a little challenging to find this cafe and the parking is limited. The majority of the main courses on the menu are among the good selections we've chosen. The food is presented beautifully and the amounts are sizeable. All tasted good and the portions were quite filling. The coffee is also quite strong. High quality meals at reasonable prices. Worth our visit here.

We stopped by here because of the rain while walking around the Concubine Lane. Since we already had our lunch, we just ordered drinks and some munchies. All are good. Good service. Great place to hang out and take pictures.

The nasi lemak and breakfast set was delicious. The bacon from the breakfast was especially tasty! The bonito fries were delicious as well. The pasta tasted average, although they gave a generous portion of shredded cheese :) The avocado served with the breakfast set was raw, but thankfully the staff was kind enough to replace it with more tater tots upon request. The hot chocolate had an interesting marshmallow topping. The ice chocolate was visually appealing but the ice cream tasted like the cheapest possible vanilla ice cream you can find. Overall it was an okay experience.

Plan B for most visitors is a small complex where they can explore and marvel at the interiors that bring them back to a past era. A western style restaurant, an art store of water colour paintings, an old fashion mini barber shop, stores selling souvenirs and artifacts, ... Wait, faunas creeping on walls, more than a few creative photo taking spots, a book shop with a basement of unused bank vaults, etc. Quite hard to define the boundaries of Plan B. Tourists, don't skip this memorable place.

Ambience is really nice here. Food is all tasty but the Sarawak Laksa misses the mark for me. Kaya lamington cake tastes great and the Ang Mo Indomie (basically spaghetti carbonara) also tastes good. I would come here again if I visit Ipoh since Concubine Lane is also around the corner

Love the ambience of the place surrounded by many craft shops and paintings on the walls. The Nasi Lemak Cik taste is out of the world. We returned multiple times to just eat this dish. Don't skip ordering desert in this place. We also liked the different versions of French fries. Service is quite fast. The only problem is to find parking around this area , especially during weekends and peak hours.

Food here was pretty good, and the ambience is great. The only problem (with the area, not so much the restaurant) is the constant lack of parking. We ordered only pastas. All tasted good and the portions were pretty filling. Coffee was also quite thick.

Trendy and tasty albeit a little corporate Extensive, delicious menu, crisp and well-appointed interior, great servers. This isn’t the place to go for a unique or old school “local” experience—inside Plan B, you could almost be anywhere in the world. But, in terms of food, drink, and decor, it delivers! A little pricier as well.

Took my wife here for a Valentine's dinner date. It was Saturday and we arrived here around 8:05pm. Securing a parking spot outside of the restaurant was super duper easy. Upon arrival, we observed that the restaurant was mostly empty. There were severe patrons dining at the time but we were not complaining because the lack of crowd makes it a peaceful place to have dinner. Did I mention that the restaurant was well maintained and spacious? Placing an order required us to access their online ordering system via scanning the QR code displayed on the table. They have a good variety of dishes, ranging from mains to desserts to drinks. However, it bugged us to know that we had to pay for our meals before the kitchen could proceed with our orders and their payment system was not speedy despite using credit card (they have alternative payment methods such as GrabPay and TnG Wallet). So, you can imagine how many times we had to go through this process when we placed 3 separate orders. But once we gone past that stage, we were surprised at the speed at which they served our food. I think it was no more than 5 mins and voila, the first dish was already out. We ordered Warhol Soup, Sour Cream & Onion Fries, Peri-Peri Power, Ice Ice Chocolate, and a slice of Salted Caramel Macadamia Cheesecake. The dishes were nice to our taste buds. I particularly love their Ice Ice Chocolate, Warhol Soup and their Peri-Peri Power. The dessert was kind of average. Price-wise, it's a bit steep. You can get a bang out of your bucks but don't expect it to be a big one. Would I come back here again? Absolutely. Delicious offerings, comfy atmosphere, great staff service. Would I recommend you to come here first before trying other F&B stores within the area? Probably not because this is neither a moderately-priced or the best bargain restaurant in Ipoh.

We went for dinner. Had quite a number of options of food consists of asian and western. I had Vietnamese rice with watermelon lychee juice and my husband had pan me. We also had sour onion fries. Food was tasty and the portion was just nice. Sour onion fries was crispy but tasted like plain fries. The ambience was peaceful but usually get crowded over the weekend. Service was fast. Overall it was a goof experience eating here.

Salmon Miso Pesto was nice, refreshing and not heavy. The seafood bistro was a bit salty, but well served with toast. Besides, Hail Caesar (salad) will be the best choice after the main course. The aroma of coffee blends into the spacious dining environment made my day. Worth trying.

First of all, the long black comes with a nice smell of roasted bean, the bitterness and sourness is at the optimal level for me. Had a sip of latter and Horlicks frappe, both taste good as well. When it comes to food, the Korean fried chicken is a new item in the menu, the sauce is mainly the Korean chili taste, I think it will taste better if there's mixture of other sauce. The laksa pasta was delicious according to my son, it taste like creamy laksa sauce. Whereas the creamy avocado with chicken was a safe choice.

Ipoh is actually quite a unique place on its own, which I think most will agree with. It's quite diverse in terms of its food offerings. And with it, comes an abundance of hipster cafes swarming the town. After what felt like an eternity and haggling with my own stomach, we went ahead and ordered Kam Heong Pasta, Buttermilk Pasta with Sambal Kerang, and Ice Ice Chocolate for my drink. Looking at the prices on the menu, oh boy. It is very, very steep even if you compare it to other cafes. Honestly, I was ready to rant about the food quality considering the price. But it turns out, it's quite good. The Asian-Western fusion actually works well, unlike some other fusion foods. The Kam Heong taste is not too overwhelming on the pasta, yet it is seasoned well. And the Buttermilk Carbonara is very delicious too, especially with that Sambal Kerang that is the perfect addition. It's not really crazy for me to say that these are some of the best fusion Asian-Western fusion foods I've tasted in my life. The Ice Ice Chocolate meanwhile is pretty standard. Nothing special. The ambience of the place is okay. Pretty standard. I mean there were not that many people occupying the tables when we were eating. But that's probably because we went on weekdays. I expect it to be at least half full come weekend. It's definitely more of a hangout-with-your-friends or dinner-for-two type of place, rather than it's a family meetings sorta place. Although I have to say that it's pretty quiet. But hard to gauge when the place is this empty. In conclusion, it's a good cafe with good Asian-Western fusion food.

The menu have changed and more Asian oriented. The salads are good and portions are large enough to be sharable. The carrot cake is really the best way to end my family's dinner, its moist, soft and chewy. The baker was brilliant in using the seeds and nuts as garnishing instead of baking them in. Well done. The background music was a bit noisy for my taste, a more gentle selection would have made me stay longer to try other foods.

Really great food, authentic taste and right herbs and spices. Drinks were exquisite. Would have given 5 stars, but for the sneaky 16% additional charges on the bill. Not mentioned explicitly that we will be hit by a 10% service charge a 5.5% tax separately. It would be good if they gave honest prices in the menu itself. The prices are not cheap anyway, though food is worth the higher price, but do not appreciate surprise charges.
