Mã Pí Lèng Pass, a scenic pass in northern Vietnam, was constructed primarily by Vietnamese ethnic minorities and reaches an altitude of 1500m. This pass offers breathtaking views and is considered one of the most beautiful passes in Vietnam. However, visitors should be cautious of purchasing items sold on the road as they may be counterfeit products.
Beaufiful, amazing, wow wow every turn…

MAP PIN IN WRONG SPOT! The whole main road is the ma pi leng pass and it’s very beautiful. However do not to go the google maps pin, it is on the skywalk and it is dangerous and very touristy. Just do the main road from Meo Vac to Dong Van. It’s amazing.

Incredible views. Park your bike and 20 minute walk on the side of the mountains. Watch your step. Also, expect small children to ask you for money as you arrive. Enjoy the view! It’s worth the stop, don’t miss this one on your adventure.

The Mã Pí Lèng Pass is a mountain pass on the Highway 4C in the territory of Pai Lung and Pa Vi commune, Hà Giang province, North Vietnam. It is approximately 20 kilometres (12 mi) long, on the section of the Highway 4C connecting the towns of Đồng Văn and Mèo Vạc. It is at the altitude of 1,500 m (4,921 ft).The road was first built by Yao, H'mong, Tay and Lolo minority people. The view is very attractive and stunning. It's the main spot of Ha Giang Loop. You can choose some tours in Ha Giang City. There are many choice for you to travel around whole Ha Giang province. Oh the top of Mã Pí Lèng Pass, you can see the river Sông Nho Quế . And there is a famous cliff called Hẻm vực Tu Sản. The view is really wonderful.

Đèo quá đẹp. Các bạn nên đi thử. Một trong nhưng cung đường đẹp nhất mình từng đi. The pass is very scenic and amazing. You should go here to see the beauty of northern Vietnam. It is one of the most beautiful passes in VN. Caution: dont buy the stuff they sell on the road, it is all fake mushroom.

Riding motorbike in cold weather with bff and seeing high moutains, local people climbed on the mountain side to cut grass without fear. I never thought i could see something like this before. I will be back in the future in spring to see blossoms.

We made a trip of total 1300 km by bikes from Hanoi to Ma pi leng. Rice fields, waterfalls, small villages and great curves on the way!! Totally worth a visit!

Lung Cu Flag Point

Mentioned on

Points of Interest & Landmarks
Lung Cu Flag Point is a noteworthy tourist attraction with a 30-meter tall monument situated on the Lũng Cú Peak. The peak offers breathtaking panoramic views, including the Chinese side of the border, which can be seen on clear days. Tourists should note that weekends are typically crowded and plan accordingly if they desire to spend time at the top peacefully.
Tickets were VND 10,000. More than anything i really enjoyed my ride to the North Most Point of Vietnam. There is a kinda off beaten path to get to the fence between China and Vietname. you can use a bike or get there by foot. Everything felt different at the border.
Kaames Logan — Google review
I was there last January. Not sure how it is now but the road to get was under construction at that time as a huge pagoda is being built. You can get to the top by driving up or even walk up via the stairs as we did. You can enter to the flag house and walk up to the top. Cool there but quite scary.
Trang Nguyen — Google review
we rode from male, a place nearby. it is a very well maintained highway. the roads were smooth. once you arrive at the site, you will have to park and climb a steep hill that has nearly 100 steps. be ready to be physically fit. upon arrival, there are another few meter high spiral steps at the flag point. you can see the part of china which is the same as you see in vietnam.
Suraj Yengde — Google review
Lung Cu, known as "a high forehead of the motherland" where marks the extreme north of Vietnam, is one of the most popular tourist destinations in Ha Giang. This place worths a long hike up with more than 400 steps from the middle of the stairs to the top. I truly enjoyed seeing a marvellous view from the top and took some breathtaking photos. From the top view of the area, you can see 2 big lakes which are called the "eyes of the sacred dragon", according to the historical legend of the Lo Lo ethnic minority. Be careful if you travel to the flag pole by motorbike. The road to get there is not always in good condition.
Huong Nguyen — Google review
beautiful scenery, amazing views northeast part of vietnam the road uo is quite hard to find but apart from that it was worth it, the entrance fee was 40,000 which was a fair price
Ben Hilton — Google review
It is a conquer to come if you’re doing the loop but to be honest is just some nice views which you already have if doing the loop, it is fun to drive the rote till here and back but is just a tourist point, the place is full of buses and tours if is very annoying on how people want to take the perfect picture and won’t move from the places, will only move after 500 pictures taken, people are very disrespectful just to take their photos and that results in useless and meaningless cues because of dumb people, also the fee of 40K is quite high just to basically go up some stairs see some views which you already have from other places nearby and to go up the tower…
Catarina Alves — Google review
40k vnd for entrance fee (Some comment in 5 months ago mention it only 10k). I got here at 6 PM, a little late but luckily I got to see this sky. The road from Dong Van to here has a lot of nice views. A very unique experience.
Nguyen Duc Nguyen — Google review
Entrance + parking 45VND. From my point of view the building is more impressive from a distance than the view from the top itself. I would recommend visiting early in the morning to avoid a mass of people. For those who are hesitant and think about not visiting don't worry too much (there are much more impressive places on the HG's loop).
Filip Trucálek — Google review
It’s a cool place, decent view. The tower is cool and can stop for coffee or ice cream at the little cafes. A good place for a break but a bit of a climb to the top of the tower.
cameron holmes — Google review
Cool spot for a 360 view of the area + on a clear day they say you can see the Chinese side of the border. Note: this place gets PACKED during weekends with Vietnamese tourists, so plan accordingly, if you want to spend some time at the top in peace. You can see the hill with the tower from some distance, but when you make the right turn towards the entrance, don’t be tempted by the first set of stairs you see on the left - keep going straight and around a few switchbacks to arrive closer to the top. You can follow the green trolleys they have shuttling people up & down from tourist buses. Otherwise, the number of steps to climb is double :)
A D — Google review
30k per person for electric car to the top, 5k per bike for parking, and 10k per person to enter the flag point. Beautiful view from the top, but would not go back.
Huyen Tran — Google review
Great view from the top to the mountains and the border region. You can drive up to almost the top with your bike.
Matthias Kreier — Google review
Definitely worth while checking out. It costs 40,000 VND and your able to walk all the way up to just under the flag for some great views.
Steven — Google review
Amazing views, beautiful landscape and structures. The tourist shop has very high prices so be careful.
Fahad W — Google review
Magnific view from this peak and border with China if the day has good weather. Beautiful road to drive and nice climb walking. It gets pretty busy but in late sunset or early sunrise you could be alone. Ticket cost 40000vnd. The Vietnam flag was majestic with wind!
Gregorio Gastaldi — Google review
Fee: 40,000VND per person Parking for motorcycles: 5,000VND The road to Lung Cu town is well paved. We drove for over an hour from Dong Van on a mix of windy, steep, downhill roads. It's great for motorcycle riders. You climb over a hundred steps to get to the hill with great 360 view of the town and if weather permits, you can see a glimpse of the border and China. To reach the top, you can climb the building about 3 storeys high and youre closer to the flag. We stayed for over an hour. It was raining and foggy but we got clear skies for a few seconds before another fog cloud comes in. Better be picture ready all the time. Check the weather and try not to stay until late like we did. We left at 5pm and it was hard driving with thick fog.
Belle — Google review
If you’re on the Ha Giang loop then add this to your stopping points. The view is stunning. One little hiccup was the timing of my arrival here with the flag ceremony. It was around 10 min long, and you have to wait in line until it’s over before you can go around the base or walk the flight of stairs to the top.
Tam Huynh Hong — Google review
A very nice view points can see the whole town and take nice pics with tge flag pole!!! Could be crowded at the weekends!!!
Phạm Đức Đoàn — Google review
Nice viewpoint in the middle of Vietnam and China Border. On the way to this place I can see the hi-tech electricfied barrier that China has put up to prevented any unauthorized border crossing. The Flag Point serve as a symbol of Teritory Claim by Vietnamese as there were many border tensions in the past between both countries
Tuấn Vũ Trần — Google review
Nice viewpoint in northern Vietnam. You can climb the tower to have 360 degree view below the vietnamese Flag. At the parking place are street vendors to busy snacks and drinks. Come early in the morning to avoid the busses full of tourist coming from around 10 o clock. There are more impressive views at the Ha Giang Loop but if you're around it's worth a visit.

Tea House of Baiyue Tribes

Museums
The Tea House of Baiyue Tribes is an open air museum that showcases the Vietnamese tradition of tea drinking. This hobby has been associated with older and more learned individuals who engage in aristocratic activities such as composing poems, tending flowers or appreciating nature. Lighter teas with flower fragrance are preferred by the Vietnamese people, including green tea and floral-scented white tea.
Try to make a booking in advance! I had such a great time here talking with everyone here and exploring the tea house. We had some homemade food and sampled all kinds of local tea.

It was one of the most beautiful experiences of my life. Mr. Son is a person with a huge heart who puts all his effort into the cause. What cause? Helping ethnic minorities by supporting sustainable traditional tea cultivation to benefit the environment and protect people's labor. I stayed there about 2 weeks and from the first minute I felt at home. At the Tea House I left a little piece of my heart. If you want to discover more about tea, helping others and growing emotionally, this project is for you. Bye Mr. Son, thank you for everything. Bye guys and children. I wish you the best. I will miss you very much.

Traditionally, Vietnamese tea drinking is considered a hobby of the older, more learned members in households and in society in general. Tea drinking would accompany aristocratic activities such as composing poems, tending flowers, or simply appreciating nature. Vietnamese people generally favor lighter teas with flower fragrance, such as green tea or floral-scented white tea. Vietnamese teas are produced in many areas that have been known for tea-house "retreats". Vietnam has the world's oldest trees, dating back to 1000 years.[1]

One of the best tea drinking experiences I've ever experienced! I've been to Korea, Japan and China and tasted the best of the best. To that end,the quality of tea here is the definitely some of the best in Asia from what I've experienced. The tea is grown locally and roasted just across the street. The hospitality of the indigenous staff and knowledge of local customs, flora/fauna make this a must stop on any journey in the Vietnamese Highlands.

Amazing tea, great place to enjoy the locally harvested and produced tea. It is located in a beautiful area. The people are so friendly and hospitable. If you are going past take a break. Or, if you can spare a day, ask about going on a tour to learn about the local tribes and their tea habit and spend a night at the hotel. Highly recommended!:)

I originally booked the 3 day, 2 night tour with bong hostel but was enjoying it so much I extended an extra day. The easy riders were great and I felt very safe the whole time. The tours are small groups - we only had 6 people, so it allowed for a lot of flexibility compared to some other tours that had 20+ people in each group. Home stays and accommodation had great food and atmosphere, and the tour took us to really beautiful places. Ann was responsive and helpful with any booking questions, and Bong hostel is clean and welcoming. Had the best time!

Such an amazing time! So glad we chose Bong Hostel, the best group of riders and people. It was nice that it was an intimate group and not such a big one. It was lovely and easier getting to know everyone & the riders were super friendly and caring. The riders were funny and easy to get a long with and made sure everyone was taken care of. I would highly recommend Bong Hostel if you are thinking of doing the Ha Giang Loop.

Went here after reading the reviews. I asked for the vegetable noodle soup and requested that they make it a bit spicy. I have to say it was perfect. The best food I've had in Vietnam so far. Very delicious and very cheap too. Under $2. Can't go wrong with that:)

I would highly recommend this tour to anyone, and I am defo going to do this tour again. The bikes are in great condition, and if there are any problems, the tour guides quickly resolve. I honestly can't say anything but good things about this place, the tour, and the staff/tour guides. Oh, and the loop is stunning. The restaurant, Restaurant & Coffee Quang Dũng Cơm - Lẩu, offers a delightful selection of dishes that customers thoroughly enjoy. The tomato sauced tofu and rice are particularly loved by patrons who often indulge in this combination multiple nights in a row. The English-speaking staff and menu make it easy for customers to understand the prices and offerings. Additionally, the restaurant's cleanliness adds to the overall enjoyment of the dining experience.

The pretty expensive restaurant I've ever eaten at. The quality of the food is extremely bad. Just a few words for this restaurant: Bad, bad, and bad. One star is too much for them. I was really disappointed with others' good reviews, it made me think that is a good restaurant.

Service is very bad, we ordered 2 omelets without any vegetables and a pancake and the omelet came with tomato and onion, when we asked to make a new one without vegetables the owner came to us and said that she won’t make another one because she already made us an omelet and when we said that we will only take the pancake she refused to make them. Very bad service don’t get the attitude…

absolutely loved every piece of that tomato sauced tofu me and my friend binged on two nights in a row! we shared a portion of tofu in tomato sauce and a bowl of rice and it was enough for us (tho we still had a second stomach for sweets so you might order another dish together with that). The lady speaks English and the menu is in English and the prices clear so you'll know where you stand. The place is also clean and you can enjoy your meal.

It took me a while to find some food for a solo traveller in Dong Van since everything in the vicinity seemed to be some variety of a large hot pot dish that is suited mostly for groups. This place had me covered, however! Yay! The food itself was delicious, the atmosphere was relaxing yet still lively due to the restaurant being located right at the side of the old town square. The owner couple's kids were also a delight and even very helpful with translating all my food questions. Very recommended!

Before embarking on the loop, I enjoyed a delightful dining experience at Mr. Hung Bar&Restaurant Phương Thiện. The cuisine was exquisite and the service top-notch. I indulged in their delectable mushroom and Gorgonzola pasta, which received a perfect rating of 10/10. Additionally, their pizza was also quite flavorful. Other patrons highly recommend trying their lasagne as well. Moreover, this establishment offers a pool table for added entertainment.
The food here was good and was not shy on extras (like oregano on a pizza)! The best part of this place are the people working here, who could not do enough and happy to chat, as well as let you eat your food at your own pace. The use of reclaimed furniture and fun colours created a more homely feel - different to some of the more classic establishments in the area.

We were on a bike trip and stopped to eat , the menu was limited to few options, pizza and pasta and seriously we find it very expensive. Poor value for money. I ordered a lasagna and ginger tea. The lasagna had literally no more than 2 tablespoons of beef. 😱 I thought I’d be given the vegetarian one but then realised there were no vegetables. I managed to find some minuscule pieces of meat. Overall definitely not worth the 260,000.

Most people love eating out and I am one of them. One of my impressive restaurants is pasta. I used to go there three times with my sister. This restaurant is very famous about pasta homemade fettuccine, french fries, pizza, vegetarian food. From the outside, the restaurant looked quite small but when I came in, it turned out to be very spacious. The entire atmosphere was filled with the smells of food. Honestly, at the beginning I didn’t expect much about the quality of the food here, which has very cheap prices. However, the taste of the food here was beyond my expectation. They were totally up to my standard! What I was really satisfied with at this restaurant was the way the staff and waiters serve us there. They were very friendly and made us feel that we were our home. Moreover, the relaxing music there really made our dishes taste more flavorful. I will definitely come back to this amazing restaurant more in the future.

Visited Green Karst Restaurant & Bar four years ago during the Ha Giang loop and recently returned to find it relocated to a larger, clean, and beautifully decorated space. The owner, an exceptionally pleasant lady, and the accommodating staff made for a delightful experience. The food remains superb, with a menu that pleasantly surprised me while I initially sought only coffee. Cashew chicken was among my choices and proved to be delicious.
Good place to have vegan food. We were struggling a lot to have good vegan food during our Ha Giang loop and this place was among the top good ones. The staff understands English which is always a plus. We ordered veg fried rice and fruit plate.

We are here 3 times in the span of 24 hours. After riding bicycles all the way from Bangkok, we’ve spent an incredible amount of time in small rural towns where all we have to eat is local food and Vietnam has been no exception. This was one of the only restaurants in weeks where we’ve been able to find food that didn’t make use feel like we were in Vietnam. Their food is flavorful, portions are great, price is good, atmosphere is great, location is great, and the service is great. We loved the mushroom cream spaghetti and vegetable curry. The French fries are good too, and they have salt and ketchup available (which has been rare in vietnam!). I highly recommend this place and regard it as one of my favorite restaurants in all of northern Vietnam

We came here because our hotel staff told that this is good place to eat, but after ordering food (Beef hot pot) and seeing that the portions are huge and the quality of food is very nice, we were left speechless. Everything was flavorful, beef and greens were fresh. We were eating to of us and it was more than enough. The price was absolutely on point. For Beef Hot pot and two beer's we paid 425k Dong. After all I would definetly recommend this place.

So grateful to find Green Karst restaurant and hostel at the end of a long trip. The owners speak great English and are so kind and funny. The menu has a very diverse selection of really delicious food. Choices! So much appreciated after many days in Vietnam of Pho and/or Com rang. There’s many vegetarian options as well as delicious meat dishes, and the flavors! The restaurant is right next to the busy Sunday market and ingredients are fresh and local. At the hostel, I saw the owner helping a guest clean a wound from his motorbike accident earlier that day. They owner said sometimes they help pickup guests who are stranded and help communicate with doctors or mechanics to solve problems. They own a restaurant and a hostel, and still make time to be so generous to strangers far from our home. I 100% recommend this restaurant and hostel to everyone.

We didn't really liked our food unfortunately. Our soups seemed not to be fresh/ home made. The eggplant stew wasn't really a stuw but more of a boiled dish. The fried springrolls were tasty, but really oily.

Clean family owned restaurant with great tasting food in Dong Van. Prices are fair too. There are some vegetarian options available too.

We arrived at Green Kast after a long ride from Ha Giang and were given a warm welcome and served the most delicious authentic food. The braised pork and beef pho were incredible - highly recommend this restaurant to all!

This place has such good food and service. I couldn’t be more grateful after eating a lot of the same foods for the past couple weeks. The service is great, as well as the atmosphere. I strongly recommend coming here.❤️

I found this place after a recommendation in Wikitravel and wish I hadn't. They forgot the flavour! The food was bland and pointless, even the eggplant claypot. I asked for fresh chilli, which was the only thing making the dishes acceptable. I definitely won't return.

I visited Mr. Hung Italian Restaurant & Wine Bar for a quick lunch during my trip. I was impressed by the food and found their homemade pizza to be exceptional. The staff at the restaurant were very friendly, and the ambiance was comfortable and charming. They offer a wide variety of dishes including pizza, pasta, starters, and lasagne. If you're looking for a convenient stop on your journey, there is also a hotel called Mr.
This place was our dinner at Meo Vac and it was a out of the curve restaurant! If you are full of eating soup and fried rice this is the place! It is a little high price for the region but the taste is worth it! We ordered 2 pizzas, 2 drinks and it cost 16USD. The staff was nice and they're quick. I recommend if you are western food lover!

If you are in Vietnam and you are going to an Italian restaurant, you choose wrong. The food here is ok but it's jest not very tasty. The pizza is soft and the cheese falls off, the pasta is bland and the sauce is not very good. The price is fine, not expensive nor cheap. One thing I can say is that the service is excellent. Very nice people who help in any way they can. Jest eat somewhere else.

Super cool find on the loop! Pricey for Vietnam’s standards, but great for western prices. We are on a tight budget so just had the bruschetta and garlic bread. They were both on sourdough bread and super tasty!

I popped in for a quick lunch durning the loop. I really enjoy the food over there. The homemade pizza was amazing. The staff are incredibly friendly and the restaurant has a comfortable and lovely atmosphere to it. They have variety of pizza, pasta, starters and lasagne too. If you need a stop on the loop next is a hotel under the same name Mr. Hung. Very good price, clean with large rooms and private bathrooms. I recommend highly.
