Nicknamed the Golden Temple in Vellore.. It's 4.5 kms from city area. The temple is very clean and has huge space. There are different entrance fees based on which you can enter the temple and offer seva. They also have food court and souvenir shops around it.

Wow just wow. A star shaped path to built as the main temple is situated in the centre. There is absolutely no problem for even senior citizens who wants to visit as they have seating all around the path.

Please note whichever tickets you buy you need to walk in star shape to see Lakshmi goddess at least which will be around 2.5 km. It is beautiful and big. Annadanam everyday from 12-3 pm. Darshanam opens at 12:30pm for 'Free' entry. And two other VIP entries available at ₹100, ₹250 which opens before the 'Free' entry. Phones are not allowed so they have to be submitted at counter on your way to Darshanam.

Nice to visit here. Felt peace here. Beautiful program was going. Classical dance programs were organised here. Everything is fine. Under-construction work is going on. Its a big campus. Green environment. Very good place for walking and running. Inside police recruitment school is there. Enjoy time in park. Little cleaning work is required in campus. People throw plastic waste in park. It should be avoided to maintain the park. Park development work is also going on. Love to visit here.

Actually, I haven't any plan to go there. Once afternoon I just walking across the road and saw that a long green playground. In the meantime, I found entrance gate to viewing the whole place and getting entered for visiting the place. Walking by walking I got a big pyramid type sculpture so I was surprised to see the place. Most interesting point is when I entered the place and then discovered that it was a Temple. Before visiting the inner place I didn't know even what is the building about that. The entire place was neat and clean as well as the tree was gigantic and too old. Front place was so attractive and greenery views which I liked too much.

About 400 years old, the temple is good. This is located inside the Fort area. However you must plan to visit in the morning or evening hours during the sunny days. Otherwise you will end up facing the heat. Temples, Museum and the Fort visits can be clubbed together.

This temple is just like many temples in South India which purely reflects the Dravidian Architecture. The Vimana type of entrance (Gopuram) is bigger enough. The locality also matters for this temple. Close to the temple is the vellore fort. If you are planning for a trip here dedicate half an hour to this temple and thats enough. If somebody does have the habit of meditating, then you can be really comfortable here. Even during the noon, it wl be cooler inside this temple structure as its completely made up of rocks. Forget not, to watch the encravings on the walls and the fishes in the pond.

One has to feel the walls and take the same path our kings and queen where once roam around to offer prayers, from the massive ,gigantic,Huge - entrance door to the covered- well, the pillars , well kept corridors, the huge walls protecting them from all possible dangers simply amazing . The peace you get once you sit down and enjoy the time of being in the moment . My family visited here in the evening time perfect time to move around and explore the fort too.

Additionally other deities of the temple are Vinayaka, Madeswari, Vaishnavi, Varahi, Lakshmi and Saraswathi. Amazing mandapam art, The attractive carvings and sculptures on main gate and walls of temple.

This is the best and must visit place in vellore. The temple is very beautiful outside as well as outside. The craving work on all stone is simply amazing. I don't think we ever get to know what kind of technology our ancestor use to create this masterpiece.

I was blown away by the temple architecture with huge Gopuram at the Enterance. It was so intricate and majestic, like nothing I had ever seen before. The carvings on the walls made me feel like I was in a sacred place. I hear the chanting mantras and the bells ringing. The temple was a masterpiece of art and history, and I felt lucky to witness it. I recommend everyone to visit the holy palace & get blessings.

My mind - soul healed as soon as I entered the into the temple area. The stone sculpture amazed me. The temple area's atmosphere was so calm and soothing. If you are in Vellore, you must have to here for healing your spirituality.

Peaceful temple Lord Siva at the right side of the entrance of Vellore fort with a good sculpture on the temple tower. No crowds on weekdays and no need to buy any tickets. You can explore the Vellore fort as well. 2-3 hours needed to see everything.

This temple is located within the vellore fort premises. Well maintained. The temple looks very neat and clean. Maintenance is very good. Best place to visit with family. There are many parks around the vellore fort. So it's good for kids to entertain Well.

The charch and the temple inside the fort are well maintained and nice to see. Sultan's houses are not open for visitors. these historical establishments should be well reserved, maintained and open for visitors. some other places around the mosque are not well reserved and maintained. Boundary of the fort is exceptional and have great experience to look at. it's a nice and highly protected fort.

It's a good place to visit when the weather is good. The place is a stress buster. Outside the fort there is a small park which closes at 6 and the whole fort including the temple closes at 8. Google timing is wrong. You can also climb one of the fort walls but it closes at 5 pm. Everything is free not tickets required.

The place is beautiful with a great history to learn. But couldn't visit the palace inside the fort as they were being used for police training. The temple inside the fort is very beautiful. Some places are not maintained properly else it would be great.

If you're looking for a historical site to visit, you might want to skip the fort. It's pretty old and run-down, and there's not much to see there. The temple, on the other hand, is a nice attraction. It has some beautiful architecture and a peaceful atmosphere. You can spend some time there and enjoy the view. Best sightseeing is wall & moats (water surrounded next to the wall) and another one is temple. Temple is good, well maintained. Currently police occupied this fort, kind of police parade ground and quarters. Museum is closed when I visited here, so no words on that. We need minimum two hours to spend here. To management: If moats is maintained with fresh water that will be good to see. And also, if big colour fishes are in moats people can excite. Please see foreign countries, how they are maintaining there. Our country is best ever if we maintained properly, thank you

The place is closed for public right now. I visited the place on February 16 2022 and the place was closed due to covid they said. But all public are visiting the place by climbing in and jumping into a secret entrance. The place was very good. You have to walk a lot to explore the place. It has a rich ancient arcitecture. The fort is surrounded by water all sides. No use in keeping the place closed when this much of people can climb and get in to the fort.

Went here as a kid, a huge park surrounding the fort its a pleasant view, treat to eyes. And old architect art with greenery, horses grazing, cool lake around the fort. Boating is also available and temples and churches to visit for a calm and peaceful mind

Fort is worth seeing due to many sights inside & outside its walls. Easily reachable due to its closeness to CMC Main Hospital & Old Bus Stand. Outside the walls, there is a moat. Vellore fort park is there too. Inside the walls, there is a beautiful and busy temple. When one walks more, one can see an old silent church, a mosque that remains closed, a nice museum to explore and a few banyan trees with very huge trunks and aerial roots. Lots of people can be seen in and around the fort, spending time leisurely. Sitting in the shades of the trees of Vellore Fort Park outside the walls, can be a really nice experience. As such no unclean things there, but even today (Feb 2022) people threw plastic bottles in the moat water. That was a painful sight to bear. Must visit place for anyone.

4 stars for not being overcrowded! The fort is interesting, but the primary focus of visitors is the beautiful temple inside the fort. Except for the temple, most parts of the fort is off-limits for visitors. The ramparts and moat are very impressive.

The temple inside the fort is closed from 12:00 to 15:00. Big parking place available. Moderately maintained. The mountains and water around the fort makes it a beautiful scenery.

The fort premises is huge and has free entry. Nice for an evening walk. The temple inside is a nice place to spend time and admire the sculptures. Would have been better if there was a write up about the temple and its history for reference.

Fort design is just okay not much attractive like I have experienced others. The wall compound of this fort is covered 3 kilometres in the square shape and from outside the big creek made for self defence(Not easy to win the fort) and also rain water storage system. To explore the fort is free of cost but inside there is a Government museum and a beautiful temple inside which will sizzle you by its architecture.

Short history: The Fort was built by the ruler Bommu Nayakar and his brother during 1526-1595 AD. The First Mutiny against the British in India broke out in Vellore Fort (1806 – Sippoy Kalagam). The fort was taken by the British in 1760 and used as a military garrison. The fort contains both secular and religious structures.

Main fort in Vellore, surrounded by water it's accessible near to busstand, main highlight of fort is jalakandeswar temple inside the fort, fort is like a small village inside under govt now, police traing centre is there now, Britishers buildings all inside, huge age old trees are there, people are jogging walking inside this peaceful place. Huge lawn outside the fort adjacent to water in the front , children can run and play at this spot.

Good fort. Not much to see except the front facade. There is temple inside which is a must visit for anyone going there. There is a small museum inside which has some decent collection of artifacts.

Although the name is Vellore Fort, but you will not find things pertaining to Fort except the boundary walls. However the campus is beautiful with a divine Shiva temple, lush green fields with mountain backdrop and ofcourse the water stream around. You can spend good 1.5~2 hours over here. Best part is of course the temple with well carved artifacts.

The temple is neat & Clean and maintenance is good. They build a road with few hairpin bends to reach the mountain top of the temple. This way is recommended for elders and kids. A good divine place to spend time with the family and young kids.

Nice surrounding. Lots of sculptures on wall, like typical southern India temples. Location is good. You can reach near the temple through any vehicle paying 50 rupees. Entry fee to the room of main idol is 10 rupees. Only thing is, ticketing system could have taken outside to avoid unnecessary creation of gathering.

Very popular murugan temple in Ratnagiri, Vellore and a must visit. Temple is in small hill with 2 hair pin bends. View is so refreshing from top and full of green. Vehicles can go till temple upto hill, though steps are there too. Very clean and well maintained. Design and detailed colorful paintings are superb.

They closes temple by 8:30 pm and closes walking area around pond by 8:00 pm. So clean and maintained in good condition. People work here are good in response and help.

Amazing temple for lord Murugan/Karthikeya on a small hillock. Easily accessible by road by car and bus from Vellore and arcot. Temple built by balaguru awamigal. Dates back to 1968. Hexagonal temple pool is new addition and wonderful to see from top.

Nice temple for Lord Shiva. Those who are married and doesn't have child for years are coming to this temple. There is a holy well inside the temple .The couple longing for child should take bath with the water from that holy well, pray Lord Shiva and should sleep in the temple premises. It is said that the couple will get a dream and if they remember that , they will be blessed with a child.

Very large Shiva temple, very peaceful and serene, less crowd, pure bliss, spend time in this temple in the evenings or mornings, three storey height huge compound walls on all sides, front and back gopurams are big. Lot of small temples are inside. Beautiful corridors all round, don't miss this temple, must visit, it's 14 km away from Vellore.

This is an historical temple. Lord Shiva is on the hill. Its surprising. Temple is maintained well. We can feel good vibes inside the temple. There are more than 500 steps to climb the hill. There are two ways. One ways is very much steep . Other way can be used for elders people. But not advisable for elderly challenge people.

I visited this old shiva temple while returning from Arunachalam to Tirupati on 10.11.2022. Most of the cab drivers are not aware of this temple, which is just 12 km from Vellore. That is why we do not see many pilgrims visiting this temple. But its a very old temple worth visiting once

If you are driving, there are misleading road signs to temple as you enter Virinjipuram. Follow only the main road.

A beautiful temple with a very tall Shivalingam . The front pillared pavilion has many interesting sculptures . The Devi is called Maragathambikai. The temple has a good collection of bronze utsava murthis . There is a huge and colorful Lion Well or Singa kinaru in the outer prakaram . The town is very close to Vellore and can be seen from the Bangalore -Vellore Highway .

Very ancient temple. But I feel very bad that it has no proper maintenance. Even cleaning work is not done . Some people has tied their cattle around the compound wall. They don't know the real value of the temple. It is easier to destroy. But cannot regain once lost.

A huge Padal Petra Sthalam in Virinchipuram with a lot of history of more than 1000 years old. Many married women come here to pray for early motherhood. The entire temple is very clean and very well maintained. The Pujari was very helpful with the history of the temple. A Time Stone stands in the complex.

Very ancient temple ..really we got one change after visiting this temple.. Daily they provide free food (அன்னதானம்) for every pilgrims ..the people who worked in temples are so good..so dedicative...
