Entresol is totally worth it! 5 courses for 55 euros, all of which were above average, along with a couple of standouts. If Michelin came to Riga, Entresol would absolutely have a shot at a star. Not everything might look super polished/refined, but the flavor of the dishes makes up for that (and flavor is what ultimately matters). Also big points for super kind/friendly service. Definitely worth it for a night out without overly breaking the bank.

The best restaurant visited at Riga. The atmosphere and dishes makes you remind Dr Zhivago. A trip of senses. Must start with the 3 Knappas, Letonian tapas, and the deer meat melts with a slightly aroma of truffle sauce. Desserts leave that final taste. An unforgettable experience for gourmands. At the edge of the unreal. Chapeau! To the Chef, and to all team.

Stop stop, at Entresol. It was an amazing experince. A restaurant that is proud of the Latvian food (local and in sesaon) and taken to a High level. The bread is so delicius..👍👍 Did not know we were fond of carawayseed in bread. Thank you for your time to talk and to make explain by serving a very good, delicate, beautiful and tasty meal in a good atmosphere and teaching us to try Vermouth. 😃😃

We wanted a good fine dining experience on our first night in Riga. We got exactly that! Our waiter Caspers (hoping it's spelled that way🫣) was very knowledgeable and kind. His wine pairing was just spot on. Dishes were not only tasteful but amazing looking as well. For dessert we got an extra treat with pairing with three different kind of Baltic liquor. Perfect ending to a great night We had to walk a little from the center of the center but that was totally worth it! Thank you so much 💚

Arrived at 20:30 in a party of 11 people. Reservation was lost, but fantastic servicemindedness from the server solved the situation quickly. We were treated to amazing food from only 2 persons in the kitche. The Pikeperch was great. Good selection of wines to go with the 5 course dinner. Highly recommended.

Everything from service to the food itself was brilliant and exceeded our expectations. We always come for the food, but come back again for the atmosphere. We loved the attention, extra care and that our 7yo son enjoyed the dinner as much as we did. Thank you and all the best!

This restaurant is set menu , 5 courses. In my opinion each course was delicious. This was my second time here and surly would come again .

Totally ok food, great service but lacks that final piece of the puzzle to get there. All dishes looked good but not everything tasted that terrific. We had a 5-course tasting meny with a wine pairing which should come in at approximately €70 per person. We ended up with a tab that said over €110 per person not having taken into account some other charges, including their self-charged "tip" and the €60 they charged us for water. I wouldn't recommend this place for its tasting menu, that is for sure.

Wow wow wow. This restaurant sits atop the Kempinski Hotel in Riga. We visited in the evening so no view as such but during the day I’m sure the vista would be marvellous. So to the food. It was extremely good. Some of the freshest juiciest oysters I’ve ever eaten. Sweet succulent spider crab. The lobster tail was cooked to perfection. The accompanying bisque balanced yet punchy. Service was genuinely warm and welcoming. Price point pretty reasonable. By no means cheap even by western standards but it was worth every Euro.

Overall very good place, ofcourse a pot of tea aint 7€ worth, but bcos of the place and athmosphere worth to go. I was very happy with waiters/service and with most of the food as well, especially berry sorbert, which came as complement. To be honest it was even 3x times better than desert :) rec :)

The main dish – Teriyaki chicken – was terribly dry. I personally left it all. Honestly – a shame for this level restaurant. The starter and the dessert were nice. Our waiter also forgot to include the service fee and came with additional ticket after all was paid and our group was leaving. We were a group of 14 – no one are willing to come back ever 😔

We decided to come here to eat for our last night in Riga and my oh my, we were not disappointed. First impressions is it’s a smart modern space with wonderful panoramic views of the city. The food and service here was outstandingly excellent, truly excellent. As a vegetarian (and having eaten in many lovely places with my meat eater husband in our time in Latvia) it seems it’s always a choice of Burrata and Risottos for me when we go out and as lovely as it is you can only have so much of the two. The wonderful chef here agreed to make me the same as my husband was having, the Truffle Burger (vegetarian patty) homemade Brioche, caramelised onions, Truffle Brie cheese, Truffle, homemade fries and Siracha mayo. It was divine and vegetarian! I did say I could’ve “kissed the chef.” 😀 it was a wonderful evening, with wonderful wine, cocktails and dessert. The staff are fantastically professional at what they do. Definitely the best choice for our last night in Latvia. Thank you. 🙏

Great restaurant in the heart of Riga! Next to the Opera, nice view. located in grand Kempinski hotel. Dare to try interesting twists: Sparkling Cucumber Soup with Sheep Yogurt Ice Cream and Chia Caviar and Mint with drops of chilly - delicious and balanced creamy soup; "Bonfire" - Sturgeon with Yucca Root and variety of Mushrooms, Tomato Beure blanc and Sorrel ... well balanced, juicy fillet with unusual yuca root well prepared! Service great! Final score: Good stuff!

Elegant place, exceptional service and fresh and tasty meal. Price level is high, but you get what you pay for. Whether this is truffle buckwheat risotto or fish mosaic - I’m always getting experience of enjoyable time, elegant Ambiente and unique tastes. The only negative remark I could make refers to the kids Menu. We ordered noodle chicken soup for our 3years old daughter. The meal come nicely served but all ingredients in the soup was shredded. As far as my experience shows kids at that age do not eat what they don’t understand and can’t differentiate one ingredient from another. If these are noodles- that should be visibly noodles (better spaghetti). If this is a carrot - that should be a defined peace of carrot, so that the child can recognize vegetable in it. All in all, I recommend Stage 22!

Its a very nice place inside the Kempinski Riga. On the roof top with a great look onto the city. The very friendly staff serves great food. Nice selection and good quality.

I wonder if covid has taken its toll on the market. Last time I was here it was bustling with life and it was difficult to move around, just as a market should be. Now it was a lot of closed stalls and very few vendors. You can still get good deals on fish, meat and vegetables, but the vendors are not interested in haggling and making your day anymore… hope they soon get back to how it used to be.

Originally used as military airship hangars and later transformed into an architecturally imposing food pavilions. Vibrant atmosphere. Best place to get closer to Latvian culture and traditions in the Central Market. Here, you can see and taste the typical and unique products. Fresh and natural products from Latvian farms and assortments of Latvian food. You can also find a wide range of souvenirs.

I absolutely love visiting city markets. This one was one of the best I have ever been to. The food area was amazing. There were plenty of options to choose from, all of them looked extremely delicious. If you also enjoy to dive into a market, plan yourself a couple of hours. There were russian sweets stand, freshly made sweets, handcrafted items, clothes, cheese and milk products section, fish section and the food court. Super cool place, I highly recommend visiting it.

As tourists, we really enjoyed our market experience. It had a local flair and a variety of food and goods. We wandered for over an hour before heading back to our hotel with lunch in hand.

Great place to while away a couple of hours. Said to be the biggest indoor market in Europe. Plenty of stalls from flowers to meat and fish. Not as many stalls selling cooked food to eat now but there were a few. Frequented by many locals. Housed inside and outside 5 old zeppelin hangers.

Huge market with 3 hangars and stalls all around. You will buy everything. Fresh fruit and vegetables, cheese, halva, hundreds of types of fish, clothes, souvenirs. You will meet people from all over the world there. From 7am to 6pm the market is full of people. The prices are very good.

The area is worth visiting at least once. But I probably will not come back again for seconds. Separated inside and between 4-5 warehouse type buildings with themes on each: meats, fish, vegetables are outside, a building just for textile, clothing and dried goods among others. If you are not grocery shopping. It's best to skip to the textile/dry goods area. Going early in the morning also gives it a different vibe as that is when older Latvian home makers come to do their daily shopping.

It provided an excellent opportunity to immerse myself in the local culture and connect with the city's culinary roots. One of the best European markets I've been too! Fresh produce if all kids including colourful vegetables, smokey meats, and tasty cheeses. And a lot of vendors to sit and eat good local food and drink at. I bought some amazing Amber earrings that were locally produced here from a lady that taught us all about the history. If you are feeling the cold, it's a great place to get an additional jacket too! Don't miss it!

Lots of local and fresh yummy produce, especially cheese, smoked fish and pastries. I would welcome more eateries around the market though. Bought 3 pair of hand made wool socks on the stand outside the main market, highly recommend- to support local pensioners and complement their income -who produce superb craftsmanship.

Outstanding farmers market! Prices are amazingly affordable at this quality level. Huge market similar to the Prevoz market in Odessa, Ukraine but much cleaner. The entire city of Riga is AMAZINGLY clean. Great vendors at this market. I go every week here to stock up on Kraut, Salami,cured meat, cherries and wow worthy strawberries.

The market so big and you can basically get all the ingredients you need. They have wide range of products to choose from dried goods, fish, meats, chicken, cheese and many more. There are also several restaurant inside the market but most of the restaurant open from 10am. Although there are few that are open early for breakfast. You can also buy clothes ans bags in the market. The market is clean and we enjoyed walking around there.

Beautiful market at the center. There are many fruits and vegetables. You can also buy some souvenirs. If you love to see shops, this place is a must-visit. Nothing fancy but you can experience how local people do the everyday shopping and you can also eat in some restaurants there.

Pretty massive market with great variety of farmers produce, fresh, smoked and dried fish all looking fresh. Also many fresh vegetables nuts and seeds and pickled goods of all types including kimchi. I enjoyed it so much I went twice in a 5 day stay in Riga. I was naturally drawn to hall 3 with many food and drinks k options and very impressed with Labietis craft beers. Also savoured the Borscht soup, fried chicken mushroom and cheese dumplings and finished with amazing apple and cinnamon dumplings / pelmeni . Don't miss it

Must haves at the time of visiting Riga, as it's the largest closed market in Europe. They offer a bunch of products from home supplies to vegetables and meat. Also there is a supermarket inside the same building. Moreover, there is space to eat inside the market. I really recommend the craft beer and also the pastries. The best part as a tourist is the fish market as the fish is not exactly fresh, but smoked or marinated.

Yeah this place is bursting with activity and is fizzing out of control. So much to see, bustling with traders, conversations, arguments, hangling and jaggerling. Each zeppelin has a different category of products, split between meat, veg, fish and bars/food. Nice bar called Liebitis? which did decent Latvian ales

That's the Key destination point in Latvia or better saying in entire Baltics States if you want to eat with your eyes and being amazed by the variety of food both végétales, fishes any sort, cheese any type your imagination Can create and all sorts or products starting from Caucasian région until Central Europe. You may be pour, you may be rich - any wallet will find your receipt for your financial possibilités. I really recommend that place, and I assure you - you will be returning there frequently when only you could.

Really enjoyable visit to Riga Market. Lots of food and drinks on offer. Most vendors speak english and there are ATMs nearby. Shops mostly only take cash. I recommend going early and taking your time.

This market is a lot bigger than I thought. I was worried that this place could be very touristic, but there were also a lot of locals shopping and doing their groceries. Lots of smoked fish and pickles, and prices are not necessarily cheap, so you have got to make your own judgement and take precautions. For examples, the price of blueberries were shown 1.90 euros, which I thought was too cheap to be true, but when you look at it carefully, it is per 100 grams. Obviously, one packet of blueberries will weight a few grams, so they are not cheap. Nevertheless, you will find a variety of seafood and products, and you can easily spend an hour or two here. A must visit place in Riga.

Amazing place to visit..... Every type of meat, fish, fruit and vegetables, cheeses etc, with 3000 stands, under the rooves of former German Zepplin hangars. Cheaper than the old town too.

It's a very nice and spacious market. The indoor has many halls that are ex Zeppelin hangars each jangar has specific items for sale e.g. fruits, fish, meat, bakeries, food court, ... Some of the halls are being restored and look more modern and trendy but others still have the eastern markets vibe, which I find very interesting and it might be soon disappearing after a full modernisation of the market place. Prices are variable but have increased a lot in the past years as it's becoming more and more fancy place rather than a real market. Also there amount of tourists is steadily increasing. There's also an outside open market where you can mostly find fruits and veggies but it's probably there where your can find some corners wish still keep the old vibe. It's very lively and in general a nice place to visit when in Riga.

Very disappointing beef main - too salty, very overcooked (wasn't even asked whether I wanted it medium or something else). Chef was supposedly having a bad day (as I was informed by the staff), but then they probably shouldn't be allowed to produce these atrocities. White wine was also quite warm when served.

Tasty tapas. Didn't bother with the mains, instead had a few of the tapas options. The scallops, mini tapas plate, and the ostrich carpaccio with the still warm bread was delicious.

Very tasty food. Tried tulips and other vegetarian options during Rīga restaurant week. Portions are very small as expected in most restaurants, but the taste of the food was excellent. And dishes were delivered very fast. View outside the windows is also nice.

We had our dinner tonight and it was a bit disappointing. The food was OK, but honestly quite bland and overpriced. Portions tiny, the mains looked like entrees. It would have been ok if the food was fancy but it wasn't. Our waitress was not very welcoming and just walked off when we asked for a bill. It's a shame because the place itself is gorgeous, but we will not be back in a hurry.

The place is mainly for vine and konjak lovers however, they found beer for us as well. Short menu but everything is tasty even tuna (that was the best good tuna I've tried in Riga). Prices are reasonable and the view outside the windows is excellent. Strongly recommended!

I come back to Rīga once a year and Garage vine bar and restaurant is always on my list and it never disappoints. Their beef tartare is exceptional and the beet root cream soup is something I will crave forever. Excellent atmosphere, service and location. Treat yourself!

A cozy small restaurant with a rich food. The variety of dishes are quite good. The duck leg and school fondant were perfect ! The only thing what can disturb is that as restaurant is small 2 person tables are quite near one to another, so you will here conversations of other guests :)

Perfect place for a good dinner. The staff is very professional and even a gluten free diet was not a problem. The restaurant had a fancy but relaxed atmosphere and the food was delicious. The prices were maybe a little bit more expensive but it was worth it.

We had a great dinner here. The starters of Camembert was excellent. The carpaccio was soft and moist. Inspired. I did the pork which fell apart on the bone. My wife’s steak was also tender and cooked medium rare as requested. Attentive friendly staff. You cannot go wrong coming here.

Consistently good food and service. We have been coming for years. It’s one reliable place in the Old Town which we know always meets the expectations. The place is relatively small and gets busy at peak times so I’d recommend booking in advance. Last time we went for lunch a couple weeks ago and had the trout salad, the salmon ( or trout?) tartar, the venison burger, the sturgeon fillet, and the confit duck. The food was great, the service was very friendly. We also like the setting and simple yet lovely interior of this restaurant.

Amazing dinner! We got super lucky and got a table on a Saturday night and the food was delicious and staff were super nice too! The prawns were amazing and the trout was lovely. Highly recommend.

A very enjoyable, delicious meal with excellent service. I ordered the tiger prawns for the starter, and the roast duck for the entre. Both were very well prepared and seasoned. The presentation was very appealing, but that leads to the few negatives that I have, regarding my visit here. I'm not a fan of overly garnished plates. Especially if the garnish is not edible. Not to say that the assortment of semi exotic berries (goose berries, ground cherries, etc) weren't edible, but they definitely did not need to be on every plate. All-in-all, I highly recommend this restaurant. I'll like patronize it again before I leave Riga.

Waitress recommended for me (vegetarian) baked avocado: de - li - scious 😋 (not obvious combinations, lovely surprise). If they will have more veggie options we would visit more often 🙃

Lovely little restaurant in the heart of Riga old town, decorated beautifully for Christmas. We were lucky to get a table as we arrived early - despite being a Monday in December all the tables were reserved for later in the evening. Mains were very nice and there were a few vegetarian options to chose from, which was great as we had struggled with finding a place that would suit both meat-eaters and veggies. I just had the tomato and onion soup and a side, but it was lovely, while my friend said the duck was amazing! Sadly we were too full for desert after.

A nice restaurant in a very convenient area very close to the most popular sights in Latvia! It is expensive but the food was great! We had tomato soup, burger and duck! Especially the duck was really amazing! They also have a nice selection of wines!

Fantastic 1st lunch in Latvia. Started with a couple of draft beers while trying to choose from the imaginative menu. Everything, from our avocado with berries & camembert starters to my perch with pea puree & walnuts and his melt in your mouth pork dish with sweet potato was 5* excellent. I chose this restaurant specially for my boyfriends birthday and we were not disappointed. Menu has nice selection of seafood options and also meat and other things. Prices are reasonable and atmosphere is cozy and fancy at the same time. Dishes were great - for mains we ordered venison burger and teriyaki salmon which were very nice. I have never had so good salmon before for such reasonable price. I recommend booking the table before - we went on Monday evening and it was still fully booked. Service was bit poor - they were fast but waitresses seemed to be in a rush all the time and no one made sure how we feel or do we like the food or if we wanted anything more to drink. Also she forgot to bring butter with the bread. Overall experience was nice and can totally recommend.

This place is definitely something I’d like to call the city’s “hidden gem”! ❤️ This was my second visit to this restaurant and yet again, it did not disappoint, on the contrary. This has to be one of my all time favourite places in Riga as everything from atmosphere and service to food is nothing short of incredible! 😍 This time we ordered beef carpaccio and the butter fried scallops which just melted in the mouth! For the mains we had the beef steak and pan fried pikepearch fillet, both of which were delicious and I was particularly happy with it my steak as it was one of those evenings where the body had a craving for meat and this hit the spot! Overall I highly recommend to visit this place! But do book in advance as you might not be able to get a table! ;)
