Reserved here as our friends have visited before ribs all you can eat for €23 with slow cooked and dry rub options. Slow cooked was better and interesting flavours some very sweet! Starts with whole racks which is topped up with half's as you choose next flavours wide range of beers wines and drinks and very friendly and helpful service!

What can I say. The food was great, but the service is what shines for me. The staff were really nice, happy and helpful. The food was a complete experience given we had chosen the unlimited menu and got to try several kinds of ribs. Side note, always choose the soft one 😅. Overall a great experience and will definitely come back.

Great ribs, fast service. Staff are attentive and when you're almost finished your ribs (or a drink) staff will ask you if you want anything else, additional ribs (and drinks) were served within a few minutes. I had the chocolate + beer ribs, spicy bbq and the Wasabi & apple sauce. The chocolate and beer ribs were surprisingly good! Highly recommended!

Wonderful place with very delicious menu. Food was very tasty. Beer is the second to none. Prices I don't know exactly, but for me suitable. Personal is attentive and polite. Strongly recommend. Also it was very near from my hotel, so one more selfish point from me)

Great croquettes, amazing chicken Fajita. Ribs are pork, forgot to ask before ordering…looked delicious..didn’t actually taste them.

The ribs were good, not great. But a great value - all you can eat for 24.95 Euros. The service was so so. It took 15 minutes to get my second order of ribs. In fact at one point, while I was waiting the waitress asked if I would like another order, she had forgotten that I had already ordered more from her. A reservation is needed to get in.

Best slow cooked ribs I've ever had, the meat really falls off the bone. Could do with maybe a bit less sauce, but I've never left with hunger or felt it was missing something. Good & fast service, great ribs, and lovely beer. Great!

Brugge is beautiful and this restaurant makes the experience complete. The interior is super warm and the staff is really friendly. Especially Cheyenne: she is just amazing as she pays attention to every detail, provides the best customer service and does everything with an authentic smile. The ribs were lovely and I appreciate the have 2 kinds of ribs and different sauces to choose from. All in all super nice experience. Love to come back here!

Service was a little hit and miss, staff were pleasant and did bring the right food, they brought the wrong beers but changed them as soon as we said, forgot our water and had to be asked twice more. Ribs themselves were tasty and well cooked but far too much sauce made them very sickly. We were there on a warm Friday evening so sat outside and it was nice.

The ribs here are superb. Especially given they are all you can eat (and you can change flavours each time). It's a bit of a walk if you are staying south of Bruges but it's worth it. The extra portions of ribs come in half racks in case which is great if you only want a bit more.

The best ribs I have tried in my life after trying at different places! The ribs are so soft that you don’t need to use your knife. Too bad this restaurant is not located in Ghent! The best ones are slow cooked barbecue and you can eat as many as you want.

The First time we went there with the family, all was perfect. Most of all, the ribs "Slow Cooked" with hot BBQ sauce. Excellent. The drafted beers also excellent. Very cosy and good atmosphere. A must visit when your in Bruges.

Great place, good vibes, amazing food, and of course a lots of Ribs & Beer. 😉🍻 Even the staff is friendly. Tip: King prawns R&B style is a rare speciality, must try.

Our third visit - we got lucky turning up without a reservation on Sunday - table for 6 available upstairs. All you can eat ribs were flavoursome - lovely staff and glad we came back

Let's start with the food. Ribs were good, the sauce "spicy BBQ" was great. My wife had ordered the Salmon, she liked it but it would've been better if the skin side would've been crispy. My son had ordered the Kids Menu (nuggets and fries), he loved it. The fries or wedges which are included in the various menus should come with some sauce, albeit Ketchup/mayo... currently it isn't. The servers are nice enough to bring you some sauce if you ask them though. Servers are very friendly and if you are struggling with the Dutch language, they'll help you out in English. I'll definitely return when I'm in Brugge again.

Food quality is poor, but food quantity is outstanding. All you can eat ribs. But truly, it's not worth the money. The service was fine.

Food was nice, worth the price. The shrimp with tomato sauce was really tasty and you get ENOUGH shrimp for once (12)! The ribs are unlimited: you can order more free of charge. They have some interesting local beers (and fruit beer). Service was fast and polite.

Cozy place, but in summer it's hot, chears and low tables are not comfortable. Service also not the best. Long time waiting when the waiter will pay attention to you and bring the menu. Food is ok 👌

Had a business dinner here and was so impressed that I made another reservation for my wife and I when she arrived in Belgium the following week. Food, atmosphere, and service were outstanding for both meals. Had the filet one meal and the tartar at the next. Both were amazing.

Was struggling in the rain with 2 babies and they didnt even let us wait at the bar area until the bar is opened, which is only another 30 minutes. We were about to just stay there and making consumption as its pouring rain outside with nowhere close to go and they just get rid of us back to the rain with 2 babies as they saw 2 coloured mothers. Maybe he thought we are just Asian tourist who visit Brugge, know nothing and never going to come back, but I live nearby. We brought our business and personal guests a lot to Brugge as we have relatives who lives there, but I find their service and attitude disgusting and never would give them any business ever in my life. Certainly giving bad recommendations if possible. Geez

Terrible service! The girl was extremely unpleasant in communication. We wanted to relax and enjoy the holiday atmosphere on February 14, but the waiter made us order more. As a result, we had to leave this unfriendly place. Never again will I come here. I do not recommend this establishment.

I came here as a solo traveller after 2 staff members at my hotel recommended it, and really enjoyed it. You are welcomed and feel comfortable whether you are in a group, couple or alone. The waiter was super helpful with recommendations as I wanted something traditional and he was able to advise on the best options. I had the beef Stew and my goodness it was beautiful!!!! Sadly I ordered shrimp croquettes but they never turned up. That was my only criticism but I understand it may have just been a genuine error hence why they have still earnt themselves 5 star! The meal cost me €35 for a main (which came with chips and a salad and I didnt manage to eat it all as there was so much!) And a cocktail. I'd definitely recommend this as a place to eat for traditional food!

Yeah good place but only one big problem 🛑‼️ Racist staffs ....the waiter who served wasn't and welcome us was unwelcoming vibe .. Even though I like the location and layout... We won't go again .

Food is really good, the place is nice, high quality. The only reason why it is ranked 3 and not 5 is the service. It is too “pushy”, the waiters are always in a rush, give you a strong feeling that they want you out as soon as possible. Needs more love & care.

On a Saturday night they managed to fit us in at the last minute. Thank goodness, we were staying in the hotel so it was very simple and easy to eat here. The menu is a perfect size, enough to find variety and not too much to confuse the eater. We had 4 tapas dishes which were huge, be aware two of these world have been enough for 4 to share. We had mussels and salads for main courses and plenty of drinks. The service was exceptional, very friendly and personable. The owners are siblings and both served us. The rapport they had with their staff was clear to see and really lovely. Everyone seemed very happy and we're working so hard. We loved it dinner and retiring to the bar area to continue our evening. It was fantastic. It is pricy, however it's worth every penny. Thank you...

Amazing hotel and restaurant with delicious food and a great ambience. The staff are knowledgeable and friendly, the decor is great and very modern. The breakfast is “chefs kiss” and the way the terrace lights up at night is elegant and a pleasure to be part of. Looking toward to going again !

Great restaurant, a bit more on the expensive side but still acceptable. The food is very good ( fine dining I'd say) The waiters are very attentive and want to make you comfortable ( ex when we arrived they instantly asked if we want a bowl of water for our dog) Pet friendly place. It's also really nice inside so if you want food in Brugge, definitely a must.

Fantastic food and service in this intimate restaurant just off the busy square. Both the moussaka and king prawn dishes were delicious. As a lovely suprise we were treated to a sweet orange cake and port wine to end the meal. Highly recommend in beautiful Brugge.

Delicious lamb chops. Starters are a bit expensive for the size. The halloumi is a bit overpriced for 4 small pieces. Tasty dakos, but also not cheap. Dips were fresh and flavorsome. Complimentary piece of orange cake was a nice touch! Friendly staff!

Amazing gem found in the heart of Brugge! Cozy and very familiar Greek restaurant very nicely decorated as to make you feel at home. Very helpful staff that accommodated us without reservation, knowledgeable about Greek and Mediterranean cuisine with a wide variety of options to chose or menu option. The food was delicious, well portioned plates full of flavour, well elaborated and nicely presented.

What a lovely restaurant. We went on a Monday night and it was so busy that we had to go back in 20minutes. It was well worth the wait! Friendly staff, gorgeous food, well priced (for the area) and great service. Would definitely recommend 🤩

Great place for a special dinner! Staff was friendly and attentive, the food was delicious and portions are generous. The decor of the restaurant in also stunning, with great attention to detail. But make sure to book a reservation, as they seem to be fully booked, especially at peak times.

Really good food, quite pricey for the portions. Nice decoration. They give a complementary cake on the house for desert. We also bought a bottle of extra virgin oil from Greece there. Would go back!

My partner and me, are in absolute love with the restaurant and food being served there. We have had a full course meal and we barely managed to finish everything. We had an elegant wine presentation, interesting and delicious starters, the chicken was roasted on a grill, and in the end we received dessert with some sweet liquor. It might be important to know, that you should make a reservation ( especially in the weekend). We managed to get two places on Wednesday at the moment the restaurant got open. Within few moments the entire place was full. Highly recommending The Olive Tree restaurant.

If this were a vegan restaurant, I'd give it 5 stars. They only have a couple of vegan dishes and several vegetarian ones. Great atmosphere, fantastic service and an absolutely lovely meal! We had the vegan souvlaki and it was delicious. It came with a garlic tzakiki sauce to die for, fabulous potatoes, rice pilaf and a salad. I highly recommend it. They also had vegan dolmades but I couldn't fit it all so we'll have to go back to try them. We were served an unexpected but wonderful dessert of marzipan in a light syrup that was so delicious I wanted to lick the plate. We also got plum wine at the end of our meal. I can't wait to return to lovely Bruges and The Olive Tree for another delicious meal.

Today was the second time we were able to visit The Olive Tree. P We previously visited in September 2016 and thoroughly enjoyed a delicious meal and hospitality. Our visit in 2016 was mainly because we had a vegetarian in our party, and this restaurant gave a lot more vegetarian and vegan choices than other restaurants in Bruges, which are quite meat-focused. Every time we visit Bruges since 2016, we keep trying to visit The Olive Tree, but the months we normally go, it seems to be shut :-( We were delighted that it opened again tonight (26th Jan 2024 - a day earlier than advertised on the website) I'm pleased to say we were not disappointed! The food is still excellent, and hospitality is still perfect. I can highly recommend the $44 euro menu, as this includes a variety starter, which is incredibly scrumptious. We are looking forward to visiting again!

My husband found this place on line & was close to our hotel so that was a plus. Walked in on Sunday 7:30 with no reservation. Got seated right away. Relaxing nice, clean atmosphere. They first brought a few complimentary Greek olives which were very good. We shared the mixed dip plate & moussaka. Mixed dip was six small dips, little salad with really good dressing with soft warm pita. Everything was absolutely delicious. Servers were attentive & nice. Would highly recommend.

Wonderful little place with the most amazing food! The set menu was a fantastic deal, with a huge array of starters included. Loved it!

The restaurant is the perfect place to have a cosy and delicious dinner, the staff is very friendly and makes sure you have everything. Fish options are incredible! We were even lucky to receive some special treats. It was a bit cold next to our table, but maybe because the restaurant only opened when we came. And at the end of the first floor I would add a bit more light cause it was pretty dark. Will definitely come back!

Charming Greek restaurant with delicious well flavored food, a charming and super friendly staff and perfect ambiance. The added benefit were all the gluten free choices. I’m still dreaming about our dinner.

Excellent Greek cuisine! Everything we had was amazing from the 2 appetizers of dolmades and tzatziki to the 3 entrees of pork souvlaki, moussaka and lamb chops. The ambiance was very cool too. I highly recommend this restaurant.

I was on a culinary adventure in Belgium, and was quite excited to try this restaurant. Unfortunately, I left disappointed. It's a cute, homey restaurant on the inside. I was seated promptly. The service was great and both servers were helpful in guiding me through their vast beer selection. My food arrived fairly quickly, but the rib-eye I ordered was disappointing and overpriced. Shame on me for once again giving steak a try in the UK or Europe. I'm spoiled by great steak places in the US like Capital Grille, but have always found the steaks on the other side of the pond to be lacking. With their 'short chain' local menu and 60+ Euro prices for a rib-eye, I thought maybe I'd finally find a worthy Old World steak at Nieuw. Nope - mine was gristly and not especially tender. In the grand scheme of restaurant steaks, it was decidedly average and would have been okay at 30 Euros. At 2x that, it was just ridiculously overpriced. Of all the restaurants I visited on my 8 days, this is the only one I'd not return to and would guide other travelers to avoid (or at least, to avoid their featured rib-eyes).

Nice family restaurant. Very good service. I was served with nice cold kind of a smoked ham. The stake came get with a salad and fries which I liked very much. I ordered the rib eye (medium) and it was good. It was recommended to eat it medium rear but that was too much for me.

We had the most lovely time having dinner here. It was about a 20 min walk from our hotel, however we thoroughly enjoyed the little tour outside of our stomping grounds and so worth the venture!! Bij and Marijke were beyond welcoming, both visiting our table on numerous occasions checking in on us, offering suggestions, bringing food. The chefs menu was a large quantity of food, and they recommended we share one of the set menu and add on another steak which was the perfect suggestion. My husband had the beer pairing with the menu, and we shared the cheese starter, each had a main course and shared dessert! We have been dreaming about the meal all week since we had it. If you’re a meat/cheese/potatoes kind of person, this is for you!

Amazing dinner! The owners were so welcoming and the food was delicious. Nice beer selection with pairings. We all had steak which was prepared perfectly, and the Chimay cheese starter was also delicious.

This place is truly special! We had the chef’s menu (grilled Camembert, steak with potatoes and salad, and tiramisu) and it was one of the best meals we’ve ever had… ever! Not only that, but the owners are incredibly lovely and genuine people, and the atmosphere is so cozy and inviting. A perfect night out for a special occasion, and the highlight of our time in Bruges!

Excellent excellent food! Ordered the chefs choice Ribeye and my partner ordered the 6 week one. Meat didn’t even need the sauce it comes with. It had so much flavor. The Syrah wine we had was also really good. The restaurant was pricier than I expected though - 60 euros for the 400g Ribeye hence the 4 rating and not a 5. We will probably be back in the future

A fantastic meal. Everything about the restaurant is relaxed, but service is superb and accommodating. Great recommendations and explanations for food or drinks. An absolute must visit for the best steak you're likely to have. Trust Koen when it comes to the cooking and Marijke for everything else.

My boyfriend and I visited Brugge for just one day and we insist that Bij Koen & Marijke is a must visit! The staff were so friendly and informative with a menu ‘magazine’ explaining the family restaurant’s history. Everything was locally sourced… and it shows! We were given cold cuts of ham which were snatched up before time for a photo. The chateaubriand was “like butter“ in my boyfriend’s words and the steak bravette was cooked to perfection - medium-rare as the chef rightfully suggests. Both steaks came with a generous portion of salad and chips. So, once again… we insist that Bij Koen & Marijke is a must visit!

This was not just a dinner, it was an amazing experience. Loved everything about it from start to finish. We will return! Amazing food and amazing people. Unforgettable.

The casual space belies the high quality of the food and service. The wine list is well designed and I got to taste wines that were new to me before selecting one that was an excellent pairing with both the “amuse” course and the rich and smoky grilled Camembert. The meat plats were cooked exactly as ordered and generous portions. The potato was creamy but a bit tepid and we asked if it could be reheated. It came back so hot we had to wait before trying it. The salad ingredients were extra fresh (as typical but not universal in Europe), and the tiramisu was rich with a restrained sweetness that made it unusually good. We were unable to finish the meat (and amuse) and Marijke offered to package them for us with our leftover rolls. Together with some take-away soups we had a marvelous lunch the next day. Truly a memorable experience.

Great service from the owners who are very passionate about the food. The steaks are perfectly cooked by the husband on an open fire. The camembeert starter with home made butter is unbelievable… without doubt our best meal in Brugge !!! ( don’t forget to email me the bread recipe !!)

What an amazing evening we had here! The husband and wife team were so hospitable, and the food was to die for 🤤 It was clear the passion these two have for providing a truly local food experience, and that came through in taste and atmosphere. Not only do you know where your food comes from, but you get to watch it get cooked in front of you. Just a fantastic culinary experience, thank you Marijke and Koen for our most memorable meal from our trip!

What can I say this is the most incredible place! We wanted to come back every day but they are shut sat and sun we cried haha. Best steak we have ever eaten the open fire the atmosphere everything about it was the best!!!

Wow! What a find! I’m always suspicious of such high ratings in a town with so many tourists but this place is outstanding. Beef tartare, langoustines, chateaubriand and rib eye all cooked over fire inside the restaurant to perfection. The host is very friendly and welcoming, and there is a lovely homely feeling inside. Don’t miss this place when in Brugge.

I've never eaten anything like this! They are cooking it as medium-rare and it's another level! Perfectly-balanced in every way and a big applause for the place! Beer selection and the harmony with the food were exemplary.

Amazing, welcoming, true gem! We could only get a reservation for 2200, and they were able to get us in an hour early. You truly feel like family in this restaurant! Incredible food and service. Cozy comfortable and fun! We were a family of 5 and ordered 3 of the chef menu steaks with all the fixins. The salad dressing was out of this world and the steaks were majestic. Bubbly camambert with home made bread and home made butter!!! Local cola for the kids and the homemade deserts were so good!!! Highlight of our Bruge trip!

This restaurant is close to the city center, offering good traditional Flemish dishes like mussels, meat stew, local fish etc. Absolutely loved the paprika butter spread with bread offered on the house, before our food was ready. The sorbet dessert with Limoncello was lovely too. Friendly staff as well. Online reservation is possible and advised. Overall recommended.

Nice family-run restaurant that seems very popular with locals and tourists alike. Good value for money and very friendly service. The wine selection is rather small, but the Calabretta we had was quite good. Would come back here any day. Book ahead if you can.

We ordered mix croquettes, mussels and Belgian beef stew. We love it. And I think this is the best combination to order. Potatoes coming with stew and veeeeerrrt delicious! Yellow, crispy and tasty!

Went here due to the very high reviews and the great location, and it did not let me down. I had the set menu, which is quite affordable compared to other places in the area and provided a good selection. The croquette was really good (although slightly disappointing you only get one with the set menu...) And the steak was cooked perfectly. The venue is cosy and staff members are friendly enough.

We ordered the Trout, Scampi Shrimp & Steak Tartar. The trout had to be dissected carefully to avoid bones, the potatoes and salad it came with were delicious. The steak tartar was very good. The scampi was also excellent. Would go again.

It was a great place in terms of food, drinks and service. The prices are a bit higher than average for these high standards and the central location, but this did not affect the attendance of the establishment in any way - I was lucky to find a free table without a reservation. Definitely recommend for a visit in Bruges.

Was searching for a restaurant close to where I was staying, and walked the area the night before. I noted that De Gastro was among the most crowded of the many nearby establishments, and booked myself a reservation for the following night. Glad I did! It's a wonderful, homey space and is especially charming and romantic at night. The menu has lots of great options to choose from. I got the Flemish seafood stew and creme brulee. The stew was loaded with fish and shellfish and had a wonderful, aromatic broth that was a great accompaniment for both the seafood and the potato dollops that came with it. The dessert was excellent, though my daughter is ready to kill me as my 2 year-old grandson saw a picture of the flambe, and now wants all his desserts to be served on fire! High quality service. Appreciated that they had Oban on their whiskey list and enjoyed a couple drams with my dinner. Highly Recommended!

Amazing food and service. I was with a baby and the staffs helped our pram up the entrance steps, got us a spot where I can park the pram right by the table, on top of that they brought us a high chair. Such a stress free dining experience with baby. Last but not least, beef tartare was divine delicious! Ordered a coffee and got little treats with it too. Nice surprises all the way.

Absolutely WONDERFUL meal from start to finish! We had the set meal of croquettes, Flemish stew, and creme brûlée…all were superb! Also we don’t drink alcohol and were very pleased to see two “mock tails” on the menu…the strawberry lemonade was amazing! All servers were super attentive and friendly!! Can’t wait to return on our next trip to Brugge!!

Visiting Bruges for our first time. We had dinner here for our American Thanksgiving, PERFECT DINNER!! The ribeye was for two people and perfectly cooked. The fries and salad were also delicious. Probably one of the best desserts we’ve had; tiramisu 🤤

Very lovely evening with great food and service. We had moules as a starter followed by trout and shrimp / prawn gastronomic. Finished with the lemon sorbet desert and coffee. Highly recommend. We will be back!

We arrived early for our reservation, they were full but thy were kind enough to accomodate us. The waiter was so nice and helpfull when ordering. The food was delicious. We had the beef stew and the mussels and I recommend both 100%

My wife and I enjoyed a weekend break in Brugge during which we found this wonderful restaurant. It was easy to book online and when we arrived, we were made extremely welcome, served extremely well and we enjoyed a culinary experience that we are still enjoying the memory of today. I can still taste the wonderful Belgium Rabbit dish and my wife enjoyed very much the Sole she tucked into. Our starters are captured in the photos. Nice selection of wine. The desserts are fantastic too. Don't miss this restaurant, make a booking and enjoy. We shall certainly be returning for another lovely meal.

This was a Google suggestion for a place to eat and did not disappoint. We were cautious on arrival, as it looked more like a bar, but we were wrong. Our food was superb, served quickly and with a smile. The sole was amazing, according to my wife, and the veal rack fell off the bone and melted in the mouth. Sadly, no space for dessert!

We went for my partners 40th birthday and we had an amazing time the food was outstanding and all the staff where lovely would 100% recommend.
